Athens Station club
Kelly and her group arrived at the entrance to the nightclub. Once inside Ash went quickly onto the dance floor.
Chips and Frankie were arm wrestling to see who was stronger, while others from the squad watched, seeing who was going to win, and no doubt betting some money as well. While Raj and Dani were having a shot contest with Pards rooting them on. And there is Kelly. She decided to relax at the bar watching her friends and occasionally glancing at other partygoers. She was drinking some whiskey while Makoa was having a Soda, I swear what is the point of him coming if he was not going to get wasted. Watson was drinking tequila.
This was all surreal to her, but not as surreal as that beautiful blonde she saw in the mess hall just who was she exactly but why was she so beautiful, Kelly couldn't even begin she had the most amazing curves, big breasts at least a cup G. But her man she had the most beautiful face, damn she was being a pervert like Makoa, that blonde was stuck in her head.
" Having fun Kelly you seem off" Makoa asked breaking her out of her trance.
" I am doing fine" She answered, calming her friend. " Just wondering, it looks like you want to leave". She told him not wanting to tell him about a certain blonde
" Trust me I am fine, I am just tired, It almost feels blissful right now," She said while taking a sip of her beverage.
" What do you mean?" Makoa asked
" Well if you haven't noticed just a few weeks ago we were at war dodging plasma and fighting aliens". She answered still trying to shake off the thoughts of the blonde, Makoa took another sip of his soda
"Go on," he said, wanting her to continue.
Kelly sighed " We survived so many battles. Reach, Halo, Earth, and then the Ark." She said grimacing at those events.
" Yes, what are you trying to get at?" The Marine questioned more
" What I am trying to say is that this almost feels unreal, we were fighting for our lives and humanity's survival." Makoa was going to interject but decided to let her continue.
"We take out the covenant on the Ark, and boom the war is over and here we are partying as if nothing happened." Makoa gazed at Kelly for a moment processing what she said. She is right though it is almost crazy to think that humanity was at war for more than two decades and now we're finally at peace for the moment.
Makoa thought for a bit. " Yes it is a bit crazy to think about, but it goes to show that us fighting until the end and the lives that were lost wasn't all for nothing." Makoa responded, surprising her with how mature he was.
" Look Kelly, this is what we fought for. Now we can continue to live in peace and prosper. '' He continued
Live in peace? Kelly was doubtful about that because her gut was telling her that a new threat was brewing but decided to keep listening.
Makoa took another sip from his soda " Ahh, As I was saying Johnson, Ryan, and all the Men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice would be happy to see this, so sit back and enjoy yourself, with what little free time we have." He finally finished nudging her playfully, causing her to push him. " Hey, there's the smile we know and love". He smirked.
Watson, who was seated right next to him and heard his entire speech was starting to tear up, causing the marine to worry a little bit. " Are you okay doc, I am sorry I didn't mean to make you cry" He panicked.
She quickly wiped away her tears away" No I am fine Makoa, just a beautiful speech you made" She smiled.
" Sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry" Makoa apologized again Kelly sighed because he was apologizing for nothing as usual. " No need to say sorry Koa," She said reassuringly. " I still feel bad though," He said rubbing the back of his neck.
Ash then ran out from the dance floor to and grabbed his arm " Makoa come and dance with me!" She begged.
" What no! I told you I don't know how to dance,''he said, turning red. "
Come on, don't be such a wimp, I will teach you, it will be fun!!" She pleaded.
Makoa shook his head " Again, no'' Makoa said. Kelly slammed her drink down annoyed at her friend's cowardice
" Makoa just go dance with her "She ordered, pushing Makoa into Ash, causing Watson to laugh.
" Oh, all right fine I will do it," Makoa said, giving in, causing Ash to smile brightly. She quickly dragged the poor marine to the dance floor and started to teach him to bust some moves, Gaining the attention of their squad Manny whispered something into Carlos's ear causing him to chuckle.
The doctor then got up from her stool." I am going to go and hang out with the others," Watson said. " Let me know how the dance lessons go".
" Will do" Kelly responded. She smiled and walked off to Manny's table. Kelly took another sip of her alcohol.
" You know I was able to kill two Elites with just a knife." Kelly turned to where she heard the voice from. She saw two Marines, one man, one woman, and was barely able to keep herself from falling over. " Must be drunk" She thought to herself
" When I was on Reach I saved us from a bunch of brutes that pinned us down." He boasted more, making Kelly roll her eyes. The guy was lying, taking a good look at him. The man just graduated from boot and his armor does not have a single scratch. This guy is just making up some bullshit just to get laid.
" We were defending Autumn. I was holding the covies back until everyone was on board ." Kelly scoffed to herself once again he wasn't even on the damn thing
" We barely made it out but because of me we were able to get off the planet." Kelly was now getting tired of the marines boasting.
The female marine was still silent, had a blank expression and seemed to care very little about the fake tale. Kelly wanted to say something but decided not to because she was here to have a good time. She was not going to let some newbie asshole ruin it for her. The marine then smiled weirdly and touched the girl's shoulder. " Hey you look a bit out of it, We should get you to your room." He said, grabbing her hand. This enraged Kelly, She could care less about his boasting and lies, but taking advantage of another and a fellow Marine at that, no!! He went too far.
Before the marine could go any further Kelly slapped his hand away causing him to let go of his victim. Kelly protectively grabbed the drunk marine behind her. "What the fuck are you doing!!" He yelled looking at Kelly. " Leave now and I may not report this incident." She said coldly not taking the threat seriously He scoffed
" Report what exactly I did not do shit now mind your own business." He then tried to reach for the drunk girl again only for Kelly to slap his hands away angering him even further. " Listen buddy I know what exactly you are trying to do and it ain't going to happen," She said sternly. " Oh please mind your fucking business."
" Sorry, that is not going to happen" She retorted.
The marine looked up at her angrily. " Listen bitch I fought on Reach the shit I have seen, So will you Kindly fuck off" He boasted. "Hah! you were not even on Reach scumbag" Kelly stated coldly. " I was fucking on that damn planet, the shit I have seen is had been burned into my memory, I saw countless dead civilians, the Covenant glassing the planet, I will also mention I saw a mother holding a dead child in her hands in tears trying to soothe it thinking it was still alive, bragging about being on Reach is not something you should be proud of, it was not even a battle, my comrades and I were fighting for our survival.Also if you think that the Reach was bad you are in for a treat because there was way worse thing out there, you are just some recruit that thinks he is hot shit now because he is a marine, but I hate to break it to you are just asshole that has an ego problem and needs to desperately be humbled because once you get a taste of combat you would start crying like a little girl" Kelly finished her speech. The marine just stood there pissed off.
Kelly got to him. He then grabbed a glass bottle " The only one here who needs to be humbled is you, you two-eyed freak!!" The marine then swung it trying to hit Kelly in the head. She blocked it with her right arm. The bottle broke on impact sending glass needles onto her forearm causing it to bleed. Kelly winced in pain.
She then gave him a left hook breaking his nose and kicked him in the chest causing him to go flying, knocking over a table. Two of his friends quickly rushed over and grabbed him then pulled him up to his feet, holding his bleeding nose he gave Kelly a death glare " Fucking bitch I will kill you!! boys help me teach this cunt some manners!!."
Then a huge group of his thugs got up from the bar and dance floor, at least 20 of them, they started to crack their knuckles and shot her intimidating glances. Their leader then pointed at Kelly " Teach this bitch a lesson!" He ordered. Two of his men then charged her. Kelly got ready in her fighting stance. But Before the two marines could reach her Makoa appeared out of nowhere and gave one marine a right hook and threw him over his shoulder knocking him out.
The other marine then swung at Makoa only for him to block it and return with a jab to the face and then with a headbutt knocking him out.
"Who the fuck are you! " The leader spat, pointing " None of your fucking business assholes you want to mess with her you are going to deal with me," Makoa said standing right next to her. At this point, everyone in the club stopped what they were doing to watch the fight unfold.
" Yeah mate you want to mess with her you mess with us" Chips Joined in walking by Kelly's side. Sara and Ashley stayed silent shit talk was beneath him.
" Yeah, fuckers!! you mess with one, you get the whole pack" Carlos added, cracking his knuckles. Manny then placed his hand on Kelly's shoulder " It has been a long time since I got into a fight. I am looking forward to this'' Manny grinned mischievously earning terrified from the other group. She then realized her entire group was here to back her up Including Dani, Raj, and Sara. "Yeah!! fuckerss bring it on I am going to go full Bruce Lee on your ass, watch!!" Dani said drunkenly, causing them to chuckle.
" Y'all are a bunch of pussies trying to fight one person!," Raj added.
" Enough I want to beat some fucking ass!' Jesus yelled wanting a fight.
Makoa sighed " Man Kelly, you are always getting into trouble," He joked.
" I appreciate the help, you guys but I do not need you fighting my battles." Kelly said,
" And why would we do that?" Makoa Asked.
" Yeah and let you have all the fun screw that." Carlos added. Everyone then got into a fighting stance. The leader yelled in frustration. " Fuck all of you, you all should have just minded your own business!!."
" Enough talk, let's fight SHA-SHA BOOEY!!' Dani shouted charging the group of marines. "Get them!!" The leader ordered.
" Let's fucking go!!!" Manny yelled. Kelly and her squad charged forward.
Manny crashed into two marines and then grabbed them by the neck, then threw them across the room. Everyone in the nightclub started cheering and hollering, encouraging the two groups to keep fighting.
Frankie then slammed into three guys he then picked one up and threw him into a table. Carlos grabbed another by the head and slammed him on a table knocking him out, breaking his teeth. Carlos then quickly elbowed another one in the chest, causing him to let out a huge grunt he then desperately threw a punch but Carlos easily blocked it and countered it with a swift hit in the neck knocking him out.
Jesus then punched one in the stomach and tackled him to the ground and continued to land multiple punches" You are fucking garbage kid you fucking loser". One other marine then sneaked up behind him to strike him. Jesus though blocked it and threw him over his shoulder.
The marine slammed into the ground hard. Jesus then grabbed him by the collar and started punching his face over and over causing him to bleed heavily" Tried to save your boyfriend huh, you fucking loser, get the fuck out of here" He said punching him continuously. Rigo then knocked out one marine causing his friend to run in the other direction " You fucking pussy come back here!!" Rigo said chasing after him. He then grabbed a chair and threw it at the marine hitting him and knocking him out. " You thought you could get away from me, come here bitch" He said, grabbing his foot.
Dani then started doing some Kung fu and knocked out one marine
" Wahtaa!!" He screamed knocking another out he then grabbed one marine, threw him to the ground, and started throwing a series of punches.
"HOAAA!!" He Screamed, like Bruce Lee. " Come on mates that's all you got," Chips said throwing a punch only for his opponent to be knocked out by Manny with a chair.
" Oi mate he was mine!!" Chips screamed.
" Sorry, I beat you right to it." he responded Causing Chips to sigh. Elsewhere Sara then jumped on one's back causing him to fall and grabbed his arm twisting it causing her assailant to scream in agony.
The doctor watched the fight unfold hiding behind the bar. She suddenly heard footsteps behind her. She then turned around to see one of the thugs grabbing a stool to attack her she held her hands up to desperately block it. But she felt nothing.
She opened her eyes to see her attacker on the floor knocked out she looked up and saw Makoa. " You alright Doc?" He asked with concern. She nodded yes. Makoa then pulled her off the floor.
"Watch out!" He said grabbing her, A body flew right by her, almost hitting her and hit the cabinet of bottles in the bar. " Oi Manny!! watch where you are throwing people!!" Makoa yelled "
"Sorry my bad! '' He screamed. '' Anyways got to run". Makoa then hopped over the counter, socking another thug in the face.
Kelly was busy with two guys as she dodged one attack and countered with a kick to the face sending him flying she then blocked an attack from the other opponent. Unknown to her the leader went behind her, broke a glass bottle, and was going to stab her. He quietly snuck behind her. '' Kelly, watch out!" Makoa screamed.
She turned around and her assailant was about to stab her in the abdomen, however, He was suddenly then slammed to the ground before he could reach her, dislocating his arm he screamed in agony causing his buddies to stop. Kelly looked up at her savior and saw that it was Thezo!! Another elite then Uncloaked next to him it was that Zealot from earlier. " All right, humans, the fun is over," The major said. He then looked over at the screaming leader with malice.
"Such a cowardly move, trying to stab your opponent from behind." Two of his friends then rushed over to their leader to see how injured he was
" Fuck you split-lip you broke my fucking arm!" He screamed
" WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!'' Everyone in the club then turned to see Colonel Shepard alongside a few ODST escorts, fuming in anger. " Colonel!" The leader stumbled to her; he then pointed at Thezo and Kelly.
" That fucking split-lip broke my arm and that bitch over there broke my nose for no reason." The marine said, angering Kelly
" You fucking liar!, you were trying to take advantage of another marine and I only broke your nose after you attacked me with a bottle out of nowhere!" She yelled in response.
" Is this true?" Shepard asked, more calmly. Thezo raised his hand
" I can confirm the female's story and so can fleet master Foko Vrakam. We watched the entire thing unfold miss ''.
Commander Shepard then looked over to the shipmaster who nodded yes confirming the story.
" Reyes, my office now!" She ordered "
B-b-but–" The one called Reyes stammered "
"No buts I gave you an order." Two ODSTS then pulled his arms and took him away his goons could only watch on and as they escorted him out of the club " Also as for the rest for your report to the infirmary and hunter-31 I would be meeting you later for an assignment is that understood " She asked them " Yes ma'am" They said saluting her.
" Good, AS FOR THE REST OF YOU CLEAR OUT OF HERE, THE PARTY IS OVER!!". Everyone then quickly started to exit the club not wanting to piss off the commander more. " We will escort you to the infirmary," Thezo said.
" Thank you" Kelly responded. " Let's get going, we should get that arm looked at," Makoa said.
" Yeah, let me take a look at that Kelly," The doctor said worryingly looking at her arm.
"Thanks, mom." she responded sarcastically
"If you wish to call me that, you will have a bedtime schedule and you are grounded for fighting." The doctor snapped at her, making Makoa laugh.
"Let's get going guys" Manny said, " What about her?" Carlos said, pointing to the drunk girl who was laying her head on the bar table.
"I will get her, " Sara said, picking her up. The group then exited the club and made their way to the infirmary.
The infirmary:
The group of Marines arrived at the hospital moments ago, with the elites keeping watch over them and Doctor Watson did her best to patch them up. She was more concerned with Kelly as she got the worst wounds while everyone else suffered minor bruises except for Dani. In a drunken rampage, he accidentally sprained his knee.
Watson was trying her best to remove the glass shards from Kelly's arm causing her to hiss in pain. "Sorry Sweetie" Kelly winced again " Don't worry about it... ow... I know you are trying your best... Ow Fuck!!" Kelly hissed once more. " Just a few more Kelly," She said reassuringly. The doctor picked out the remaining glass shards and put them in a bowl. She then put some disinfectant on the cuts and cleaned them, then grabbed some bandages, and delicately wrapped them around Kelly's injured arm.
"Feeling better now Kelly?" She asked.
" Still stings a bit doc, but it feels better" Kelly smiled. " Good now to check on your squadmates," Watson responded happily. The doctor then turned to Makoa who was sitting on a bedside. " Let's take a look at that bruise, shall we? Makoa looked up at the doctor and blushed slightly.
'' Uhm doc, I think the nurse could handle it just fine," Makoa Stuttered, nervously touching his neck. " Oh Jeez come on Makoa quit being a baby. I should also remind you that I am a doctor" The blonde responded, placing her hands on her hip. Makoa nervously took off his shirt. The doctor looked closely at Makoa's chest which was covered in scars.
Watson then quickly spotted the bruises that were already starting to swell, she lightly touched them, causing Makoa to hiss. " Watch it doc, that hurts." Watson snickered
"Quit being a baby." she said grabbing a pair of ice packs. She wrapped them carefully around Makoa's stomach all the other guys in the room looked on in envy especially Manny.
" There we go, make sure to keep it on for at least 30 minutes," She said. She then moved on to Carlos and put some disinfectant on his right cheek and bandaged it up.
Once she finished. She moved on to her next patient. Suddenly the doors opened and Christian burst through the doors. Sweat covered his head. I... am... here, you guys alright? He asked panting,
" We could have used your help Christian." Manny said sarcastically While Watson bandaged his hands. " Yeah Christian where were you?" Rigo added
" Probably was too busy jerking off" Jesus joked. " What!! I was busy and no I was not you know what!!" he screamed, walking beside Makao.
" It is just it would have been helpful if you were there, it would have made the fight easier" Frankie added.
Christian sighed " So I didn't miss much I guess, Anyways why in the hell did you guys get into a fight for?" He asked.
"Well," Makoa said turning his seat " That is a bit of a long story, the fact of the matter is an asshole was fucking with Kelly and hit her with a glass bottle it escalated from there and turned into a huge brawl". Makoa said, summarizing the chain of events. This caused a pair of eyes to stare in his Direction. He then turned around and saw the same marines they fought in the club staring at them across the room. " What!" Makoa said standing up
" Ready for round two mother fuckers I am right here!" Makoa said, thumping his chest. Watson quickly ran over to Makoa and placed her hand on his chest. " Let it go Makoa, you need time to heal, they are not worth it anyway," She said under her breath. Makoa then sat back down in his chair. "Yeah that's right be a good little boy and listen to that slut of a doctor" one of the goons Insulted.
" The fuck you say!! funny coming from the guy that was following orders like a dog!" Makoa yelled standing up causing the others to do the same and start hurling insults at him Makoa's friends stood up to join the shouting match and the doctor found herself not only holding back Makoa but everyone else as well while the medical staff were doing the same with the goons
Thankfully the door suddenly opened revealing the commander, everyone then turned and all went silent to see Shepard alongside her were the two Elites Thezo and the Zealot.
" I could not leave you all for five minutes and you are already trying to kill each other!!" She screamed rubbing her eyebrows.
Everyone besides Dani quickly stood at attention. " At ease everyone" She ordered. "I talked with our friend. He will be investigated by the BCA and if convicted he will face a lot of trouble." She then looked over at Reye's group. " As for the rest of you, you will not cause any more trouble, am I clear?. She said in a menacing voice. The group of marines quickly nodded " Good, anyways, Nurse! " The nurse ran to her "Yes ma'am"
"Would please escort them to the next room," The commander ordered
"Of course" She then started leading the other group of marines out of the exit. While they were exiting they were staring down Kelly and her friends, Who then stared back. The two Elites stood guard and made sure that another brawl would not break out, especially in the infirmary. While the last marine exited out the commander breathed a sigh of relief she then turned over to Kelly and her group. " Alright, all of you have a special assignment".
" What assignment exactly?" Makoa asked while getting his hand bandaged by Watson. " I was just getting to that, also don't interrupt me if you know what is worth" she threatened staring daggers at Makoa shutting him up.
"Now as I was saying" She continued.''You guys are assigned to security detail for a high-value VIP tomorrow." She said, Everyone, turned to her
"This is very important the VIP is a valuable asset to the UNSC so for your sake all of you better make sure that they come back in one piece.
Kelly, including everyone else, were confused by this information. " Security detail that is a bit odd don't you think" Ash whispered to Kelly who shrugged confused just as much as her. Frankie then raised his hand. " Yes, marine" She called on him. " Quick question, why exactly are we assigned this?"
ONI reviewed and handpicked all of you for this so consider it an honor.''
Everyone then started talking to themselves wondering why they were handpicked. Carlos then raises his hand " No offense but is there not anyone more qualified for this? I mean like Spartans and ODSTS for example." He asked.
" Well, the thing is that many Spartans are on deployment right now doing more important missions and other activities, the same thing with the ODSTS." She finished, The mission got everybody uneasy
" Listen, the UNSC is short on men due to the war so we need anyone to fill out roles and missions that they are not used to, So anyways gear up and be ready by 0700 exactly, am I clear" She said.
Everyone saluted her. " Good any of you got questions?" Raj then raised his hand. " Yes Singh"
" Just wondering who is this VIP?" He asked.
" Sorry ONI did not give that information, said it was classified ". She responded emphasizing the classified part.
" Anything Else?"
Everybody shook their heads. " Good," She said. The commander then went to the exit but before she left she turned back to the group. " Also I forgot to mention who will be with you, Major Thezo here and.. I am sorry I forgot your name".
" Rta Vadum miss" the Elite bowed. " And Rtas here will be with you on your assignment ok." The commander then left the room. " Let's go have lunch tomorrow and get to know each other better." Vadum said bowing once more " Rtas let's go!" Thezo scolded
" Coming," he said, running out of the exit. Everyone then turned to each other surprised that two Elites will be accompanying them on this mission just who exactly are they escorting? " Dude I will be honest I don't like the idea of having to be assigned with the split-lips," Rigo remarked. Makoa then turned to him.
" Bro calm down they were lied to the entire war not to mention the covenant tried to literally kill them all," he said.
" I don't know man, I just don't trust them, dude".
" Calm down bro it is not that bad '' Carlos interjected.
" I am just saying guys, Kelly what do you think of this?." Rigo asked her.
" I honestly don't care that much the Elites are on our side now so it does not matter" She stated nonchalantly.
" Well for one I am not too comfortable with the idea and this is bullshit," Sara said.
" What makes you say that? What did they do to you" Christian questioned.
" What they did to me is that they murdered my father. She responded angrily.
" They did?" Christian asked.
" Yes Christian that much is obvious" Makoa facepalmed.
Christian just sat back down dumbstruck about what to say next. The room then awkwardly went silent. " Hey yo how do they make cheese," Dani said, breaking the silence. Jazz, Frankie, Manny, and Carlos started chuckling at Danis' question while Makoa just sighed. " Dani it is made by using milk, then they add an enzyme called rennet". Dani then turned to Makoa drunkenly.
" Bro you are shutting me, How the hell do you know that."
" There is something called the extranet." Makoa responded.
" Fuck you" he responded Everyone then started laughing except Sara.
" Dude, how are you still drunk, shouldn't you be sober now? " It's been hours" Raj asked. Dani ignored Raj's question and kept on laughing like an idiot.
" The man had too much to drink," Makoa chuckled. Sara then slammed her hand on the table " I am going to leave because you seem to not be taking my father's death too seriously" She said coldly walking to the exit.
Before she left Makoa grabbed her arm. " Sara come on we are just laughing at Dani everybody is. We are trying to just lighten the mood," Makoa said trying to reason with her She then slapped his hand away.
" No, I do not want to hear your excuses." She replied. " Sara come on we all lost somebody in this war you are not the only one who suffered" He pleaded. Sara just ignored his calls for her and continued out the exit. Makoa was going to run after her but was stopped by the doctor. " Give her some space she needs time to herself," the doctor said, placing her hand on his shoulder.
" Yeah, bro just leave it alone". Carlos said bandaging his knuckle
"Plus Not to mention you are not the best with women dude". Carlos added
" Yeah, I have to agree with Carlos bro No offense you are not good with women remember that time when you and Raj went to a club or something " Christian said causing Makoa's face to turn red.
" We don't talk about that," Makoa said nervously, touching his neck. causing everyone including Kelly to laugh. " For once I am going to agree with Christian, but what is this story at the club?" Frankie asked.
" Yeah I am interested as well" Ash chirped causing Kelly to roll her eyes. " Alright, so what I have heard is that Makoa was at a club and– " Dude shut up let me tell it, I am good at telling stories." Raj said, interrupting Christian.
" Ok Raj jeez," Christian responded, annoyed. " Ok, so this is what happened" He started. Makoa has turned bright red at this point pleading with Raj to not continue with this story. "So lemme tell you a little story" Raj started to Makoa's discontent.
" Raj please, let's not tell that story, it is very embarrassing." Makoa pleaded. " No no no, I think this is a story worth telling" Raj continued despite Makoa's protests. " So anyways when we were young I was trying to help Makoa get laid." The sudden announcement made everyone burst into laughter besides Makoa who turned even redder.
" Anyways" he continues " we went to the club to talk to random girls, this man could not muster up a conversation for his life. At one point Pards and I just gave up and decided to go home in short, every time he would talk to a girl he would stutter like crazy and could not muster a conversation, one girl was being super nice and was giving him tips and tricks on how to actually flirt but still wouldn't talk to her." Raj finished the story and everybody started bursting out laughing. Dani as well but it was due to the alcohol instead of the actual story. " I hate all of you" Makoa grimaced, only for it to fall on deaf ears while his friends kept on laughing.
Athens Station Command Room
Athena's POV:
I was scrolling through some footage and found a recording of a huge brawl at the station's nightclub. I watch through it and notice it is the same squad that I have been keeping an eye on for a long while it seems like they are getting into trouble again.
This squad makes me feel very perplexed. I honestly don't know how to explain it. Let's take a look at these other recordings I was scrolling through and found another recording that made me smile.
