Gardevoir raised her hand towards Malamar. The rocks around her were cut apart into large cubes. Garchomp rode one of these blocks as Gardevoir sent these cubes straight towards Malamar, who put up a psychic barrier to protect himself but it was eventually punched through by the dirt cubes. One landed right on him and he was crushed. He emerged from the dirt worse for wear. He screamed at Alakazam,
"KILL HER!"
Alakazam flew towards Gardevoir and shot many small pink energy balls towards her. Gardevoir flew up into the clouds, dodging and weaving her way through the barrage. She then collected the psychic orbs and combined them into one giant energy ball. She threw it forward at Alakazam. Alakazam grabbed the ball once it reached him. However, the ball then exploded in his hands. Alakazam was thrown into the ground, next to Malamar, and created a crater on impact. Malamar pulled Alakazam up, again yelling at him to keep fighting. Alakazam stood up robotically and flew into the air again. However, he was noticeably slower.
However, while Alakazam was distracted, Garchomp took this chance to ambush the squid. She emerged from the rocks and tackled Malamar to the ground. Malamar's head was slammed into the ground. Barely conscious, Malamar glared at the livid Garchomp. His tentacles sharpened and stabbed at the dragon. Garchomp stepped back, avoiding Malamar's attack. Once more, he tried to hypnotize her, but a stone pillar in his stomach shut that down quickly. He gasped in pain as something inside him cracked. Looking down, one of the glowing spot on his chest was broken. He could no longer hypnotize.
Immediately, Malamar began to panic,
"Hey, hey! Easy now! I'm-I'm sure if we just calm down, have a little dialogue, we can work this out!" All the while, he frantically looked around for something he could use to escape this situation. Garchomp didn't say a word. All she did was stare daggers into him as she got closer. With his other hypnotized minions stuck at that rabbits house, he had no easy outs. Alakazam was occupied with Gardevoir. He was trapped.
Anger bubbled up from within him. No. He couldn't lose. Not here! His chances of obtaining ultimate power were slipping away by the second. How could he possibly lose to these…these…these harlots! His anger began to reach a boiling point, when Gardevoir began to yell at him
"Let him go! You've lost." Malamar glared at her with enough venom to paralyze her if he could,
"Shut up," he said, "You don't know what the fuck are you talking about! I am the greatest hypnotist this world has ever seen! Who do you think you are!?" Gardevoir glared at him and yelled,
"It doesn't matter anymore! Your powers are gone! Give it up!"
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" snapped Malamar before he screamed at Alakazam. "Finish this!" Alakazam nodded and he raised his hand. The area suddenly inverted colors before reverting it to normal. The entire surface of the park ripped free from the earth and floated up towards the air. It was as though Arceus himself was tearing the world apart. Alakazam's power was truly terrifying, and the world was lucky he used his powers for good.
Gardevoir was forced to dodge tons of material. The materials began to swirl around her and create a large sphere around her. Malamar smirked as he said to Alakazam,
"Crush her." Alakazam immediately tried to do as he was told as he closed his fist and the sphere closed in rapidly. Gardevoir made a spherical barrier to protect herself just in time. She was admittedly surprised to see that the barrier actually held but she knew that it was only a matter of time.
Garchomp saw what was happening and she ran towards Malamar. Blue and yellow energy flowed from her mouth as she charged. Malamar saw the dragon type and raised a barrier. Garchomp crashed through with ease and Malamar yelled at Alakazam again. Alakazam moved his attention from Gardevoir to the dragon type. With that, he launched his assault.
Gardevoir noticed that the pressure lessened on her barrier so she took a moment to rest. This power. It was incredible. Had she gained this power earlier, she could've…No. Gardevoir shook her head. That was in the past. Her mistake happened. There was no going back and fixing it. All she could do was use this new power to grow into a better person. At least, she hoped she could. She hoped Garchomp was right. Taking her mind off of this, she focused on how much power she achieved from mega evolution. She saw all the rocks, dirt and earth surrounding her. She decided to try getting rid of all of it at once. She charged up a lot of energy inside of her, preparing for an explosion. She felt herself glowing as a second sphere of psychic energy surrounded her.
The giant ball of earth was penetrated by a blinding beam of pink light. Then a second and third one shot from the rocks. A massive pink explosion freed Gardevoir from her tomb. She burst down and flew towards Alakazam, a moonblast charging in her hands. Malamar saw this in horror, his gamble was falling apart at the seams. He yelled at Alakazam,
"Fight them both!" before he ran back to the bus.
Garchomp was shot back with a force pulse from Alakazam but the distraction allowed Gardevoir to fire her attack at him. It blasted into him and he tumbled into the ground. Garchomp capitalized on the opportunity and stomped into the mud. A large pillar of ground erupted from underneath Alakazam. Garchomp smiled as her checkmate was within grasp.
Garchomp screamed in pain as she was stabbed in the back. She looked back and saw Malamar had stabbed her with his tentacles. He smiled at his cheating handiwork. He wrapped another tentacle around Garchomp's neck,
"Hey!" yelled Malamar arrogantly. Gardevoir stopped to see what happened, "If you !" Gardevoir was horrified and Garchomp was disgusted. Without much choice, Gardevoir stopped in the air. She stared at the squid Pokémon as he smirked at her. Garchomp crushed his feet, he yelled in pain and he stabbed deeper into her back in retaliation.
Garchomp screamed in pain as the pain seared through. Gardevoir flew towards Garchomp for a brief moment.
"DON'T MOVE!" Malamar demanded. Gardevoir had no choice but to stop. Malamar laughed as he gave Gardevoir an order,
"Now, you are gonna stay still while Alakazam kills you." Gardevoir gritted her teeth but Garchomp glared at her, signaling for her to read her mind. When she saw what Garchomp had planned, it scared the shit out of her, but she trusted Garchomp.
Gardevoir raised her hands in surrender, descending down until she was between Malamar and Alakazam. Malamar grinned confidently as he looked at Alakazam and said,
"Finish her." Gardevoir could hear Alakazam charging up a powerful beam behind her. Her worries began to return. She had all of this power, but could she execute her part of the plan. Then again, Garchomp was an amazing woman. If there was anyone she could trust, it was her. That meant, if Garchomp trusted her, then how could she doubt herself?
"You're pathetic," said Gardevoir harshly. Malamar flinched at those words. His anger grew as he said,
"Shut your mouth!"
"You are so weak that you have to hypnotize others to fight your battles for you. Have you no shame?" said Gardevoir
"I said can it, you ignorant bitch!" said Malamar.
"Are you that scared of blunt reality, or do you know, somewhere in that empty heart of yours, that I am right. That despite all of your posturing, your bravado, you are a coward, in the truest sense of the world." said Gardevoir. Malamar screamed in a blind fury,
"Kill her already!" Alakazam nodded and fired an incredibly powerful psychic beam towards Gardevoir. With a determined look, Gardevoir flew towards Malamar. Garchomp stomped on Malamar's foot and pulled herself free. Gardevoir grabbed Garchomp and stood behind Malamar. The squid looked back with an overconfident smirk. A smirk that quickly vanished as soon as he realized that Alakazam's full power was flying straight towards him.
Malamar screamed towards Alakazam,
"STOP IT! STOP! STOP EVERYTHING!" As commanded, Alakazam stopped. That massive beam came to a screeching halt before disappearing. They had all come within milliseconds of being destroyed. Malamar panted and sighed with relief,
"Whoa. That was close," he said, "Alright, Ala-"
Garchomp turned him around and punched him in his throat. His ability to speak and issue commands was taken from him. With Alakazam under orders to "stop" he was a sitting duck unable to protect his master. Garchomp then grabbed him and threw him into the sky. As he ascended, Gardevoir and Garchomp charged up all of their energy into one big blast. Before their fire, Gardevoir told Garchomp.
"Thanks for saving me." Gardevoir imagined Malamar was a goodbye to the old Chrona. The one who would let her mistakes define her. Garchomp smiled at the psychic type,
"It's the least I could do." she said. With that, they both took aim at the squid, and simultaneously fired an attack they called,
"ARCHANGEL ARROW!"
A pink, blue and yellow beam shot upwards right. Malamar was blasted into the sky, barraged by an onslaught of psychic and dragon energy. The beam soon disappeared as Gardevoir and Garchomp relaxed, the former fading out of her Mega form.. She then saw an unconscious Malamar descending from the sky at a rapid speed. Gardevoir stopped the squid just before he hit the ground. She then dropped him into the dirt. At that point, both her and Garchomp fell onto the ground, exhausted, but victorious.
(A/N): There will be a slight delay for the next chapter but that's for a reason. February 25th 2024 will be the one year anniversary of Pyrophant. I want to release a chapter for that, so I hope you can wait one more day. I'll have more to say on the anniversary but for now, this will do. I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Pyrophant, and I'll see you on the 25th.
