Monsterphilia Pt 1
A/N: Hey everyone here is a new chapter! And I am so glad for all of the positive reinforcement, coming from all of you. And thank you all for the constructive criticism, I will continue to be better, so please say if anything is up with my writing style, word placement etc.
And with people who say Jaune is a 'Gary Sue' type character, I will say this. He would always be getting wins, always loved by everyone, and would be overpowered.
In the main series, he lost his partner. Lost all the women who flirted with him. Derailed his chances with Jessica. And spent 20 years alone, and is still not getting any wins. Literally everyone has a partner except him. Really think about it. Oscar is now partners with Emerald, and Ozpin if you count that. So authors like me make him more interesting due to how "normal" he is compared to everyone else.
But, I will agree making him too OP in the beginning doesn't make it too interesting, but building up going forward in the story is better.
But for the most part I will appreciate your opinion for the most part, but to bash someone is just messed up. And personally I believe some people hate Jaune because, they see themselves in him, and hate that.
But without a further ado let's go!
During Hestia's groveling
Bell and Jaune were coming up from the dungeon at night. They spent the whole day in the dungeon and have another big haul of magic stones and dropped items. Jaune estimated with the drops alone could give them almost 18,000 valis!
They ventured a little further down the dungeons floors, to the sixth floor. Bell was able to keep up with them monsters more easily now on the first 5 floors. But they encountered war shadows.
Jaune was surprised seeing things like these for the first time. He thought a grimm could look like this somewhere, probably an off shoot of a Geist grimm. So Bell gave him the run down of this creature. Sharp claws, very flexible, and their magic stone is in their heads instead.
With that out of the way dispatching them was a cinch for Jaune. Well for the most part, it was flexible and was able to dodge pretty well. But, he was still faster, and able to dodge better. Instead of sword, he managed to get a pretty good club.
It was only temporary to have this kind of weapon, they were waiting for Hestia to get back so he can get his sword back. And Bell wanted to wait until she gets back so they can get stuff for the church first. Then they can think of weapons in the future.
They managed to get a pretty good amount of War shadow finger claws. It all depends on size, sharpness, cracks, etc. for the prices. The smallest, dullest, and cracked fingers, are usually worth about 600 valis give or take. But the biggest, sharpest, intact are worth 1500 a finger. Thankfully a lot of them were sharp enough, and none of them were really dull. They managed to take down 15 war shadows. Seven of them were the best that they can find, and guessed that these could be worth 1200. And some were a little cracked, dull, or shorter than others but that could be 800. So the seven good ones they got, would be about 8,400 valis, and the 8 ok ones in total would be about 6,400 valis! So add that together, is about 14,800! But that is with their own calculations, they need to see the guild first.
Going around the dungeon and picking up other magic stones was always a plus. Some of the stones were sometimes destroyed, or not too big in their battles so they couldn't do anything about that. And they didn't have time to harvest stones from fallen monsters all the time.
Jaune wanted to harvest all of them, but without a proper knife on him, he can't do it. And, he remembered how Hestia and Bell wanted him to be more careful, so he doesn't risk as much as he used to.
As they carried the big bag back they all looked at the other adventurers, with amazing weapons, armor, shiny accessories, that improve a lot of their skills. Bell looked on with slight envy.
"Everyone has got such great weapons, and armor." Bell muttered to himself silently. But Jaune heard it, and placed a hand on his shoulder, Bell looked at Jaune, as he had a small smile on him.
"Don't try to compare yourself to others, and what you don't have." Jaune said to Bell. "I did that a lot, so jealous of others, for me not having their skills, and strength. Granted I still do that now still when it comes to other fighters, especially with my friends back home. I felt so, weak, and I hated it." Jaune said looking down slightly with sadness in his eyes.
Bell looked on with some sadness, he knows Jaune is missing everyone back home, and is still sad about Pyrrha. Something like that doesn't go away easily, but he sees that he is getting better with how he does things. Jaune gave another smile, and looked back at Bell.
"But, I had others who believed in me that I can be better, and I wanted to be stronger and better for them. And, I want to protect, and help people in anyway I can so getting stronger was a good motivator." Jaune said to Bell giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"You will get there Bell, I have seen it, you are able to see the enemies better, and your blade skills are getting better, and better. Just wait and see how your stats are going to jump when Hestia gets back." Jaune finished with reassurance. Bell smiled at that, Jaune was right. He will get stronger, it will take time but he will get there, and he is seeing the process. He was getting stronger, and fast! He will be able to stand up there at the top, with Ais, the girl who he likes. And not just her, but Jaune too. They were both great, and Jaune admitted, he needs to get better too, so he constantly uses his semblance, to strengthen it, and to be able to use it easier.
He even told him that evolve! His team mate Lie Ren said that to him, but sometimes it is rare for most people, but it is not uncommon. He witnessed it with his best friend Ruby. She is essentially able to fly somewhat, and able to carry people with her semblance, without them getting too disoriented. And he couldn't wait to see how far he can push his semblance.
From what Jaune noticed, aura can be worked like a muscle kind of, it can get more denser, making it difficult to break easily over time. His semblance is one of the ultimate's out there, in his opinion. He can't attack properly like his friends can, but Ren is the same way, his is more for stealth, and his is more for support. But, he will support all those he cares about, and who he wants to protect!
"Right, let's continue to grow even further!" Bell said, with a smile and deep conviction. Jaune just smiled at that feeling the same convictions.
"Right, let's cash in what we have." Jaune said, lifting the bag up further. Bell nodded and went further up the stairs. As they got to the top they seen some other adventurers hauling up huge crates from the dungeon floor, they stopped and look. They were so confused. They heard a few adventurers talking.
"Oh that's the Ganesha Familia! Has it really been a year already?" One said fondly.
"The festival this year is going to be a good one." Another said, happily.
Both Jaune and Bell looked on interested, and looked at each other, but just shrugged for now, they will figure it out later. As they walked Jaune and Bell looked at some of the weapons hanging about. Bell felt a little envious of not having a weapon that is up to date, but Jaune just went over placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. Letting him know that they will get him a weapon soon.
Bell just gave a small smile, and continued the walk to the guild. Luckily it is 24/7 for the most part, just the advisors aren't around as much, and all they can do is turn in items, and magic stones.
When they got done cashing in their goods, they got a lot more that they thought. They got over 19,790 valis! They can buy a pretty good weapon for Bell with this. But that could wait, they needed to wait for Hestia. So for now they went home, and prepare themselves for what ever they can for tomorrow.
It was morning close to noon, almost two hours till noon. And all around they could see more stalls up and running than usual. And everyone gathering around laughing, and celebrating. Jaune and Bell looked around confused.
"What do you think is happening today?" Jaune asked Bell as they kept walking about.
"I don't know, but it seems they are going more to the coliseum over there." Bell pointed to the area. They started to walk toward the area to figure out what is going on, but they were stopped due to a voice calling out to Bell.
"Hey! Hey you white haired adventurer, come here!" A cat eared waitress called out to Bell.
"Oh yes?" Bell asked going over to her. Jaune just looked on a little confused, but followed him. The waitress held up a wallet, and hand it to Bell.
"Say your Syr's friend, so give her, her purse ok, nya?" The waitress requested Bell. Bell and Jaune just looked on confused. Jaune was able to understand better than Bell though.
"Uh, I don't really understand what you want me to do really." Bell said, with slight confusion. The waitress just looked on thoughtfully, putting a finger on her chin. While giving a catty look to Bell. Speaking of catty, Bell noticed that this girl has a tail on her.
It still feels a little weird that some people here has multiple animal appendages.
Jaune heard someone walking over towards them. It was an Elf, not a half elf but, a genuine pure elf! She had slightly darker blonde hair, with teal/ blue eyes(it's hard to tell what they look like). But something stood out about her.
Her eyes had the look of pain deep in her. They were also striking, such fierceness, it reminded him of Weiss, and Winter Schnee. In the past Weiss showed a picture of Winter to her friends. If Weiss was a snow angel, Winter was a snow goddess. He thought that her eyes were even more piercing than Weiss'.
And the way she walks, and how he can tell from her serious, and yet deadpanned look. It reminded him of Blake. Jaune just looked on with a slight sad look. One of the most things that made him sad, and regretful was, of him not connecting to a lot of his friend group.
And Blake was the one who he hasn't really connected with, he just wished that he and her talked more. He felt that he could have at least got to know her more, maybe those two could have been better friends.
But, all in all, he can feel that she can relate to him. It's odd but he can't put his finger on it.
She came around the corner and looked at her co-worker.
"You need to work on explaining things better to people, Anya. Your confusing Mr. Cranel, and his friend here." The elf, told the now named Anya.
Anya then perked up, and started talking smartly, in her own mind.
"Oh come on Ryuu. I just told him to take this purse to Syr nya. You see she decided to run off to monsterphelia, and she left too quickly and forgot her purse nya. Ya see?" Anya said to them. That cleared up a few things for them. The now named woman Ryuu, turned to them.
"Did you two get all of that correctly, right? Ryuu asked them. Bell just smiled at her.
"Uh, yes I did, thank you." Bell said to her, with Jaune nodding to her. Ryuu looked at Jaune for a brief moment. She doesn't know why but she feels, she can relate to him. A kindred spirit. But then she spoke up again.
"Yes, Syr took the day off to go to Monsterphelia. If she ran off the way she did, I bet she doesn't realize that she doesn't have it." Ryuu said to them. "Anyway, we really appreciate with helping with this." Ryuu said, with Anya perking up agreeing.
Jaune and Bell glanced at each other briefly, and smiled at them. Bell lifted up purse to them.
"No problem just leave it to me and Jaune here." Bell said to them. Making Anya happy. As Bell pocketed Syr's purse, he then asked a good question.
"So what is this monsterphelia thing anyway?" Both Ryuu and Syr, looked at them confused. Jaune saw this and cleared the air for them.
"Me and Bell have only been here for so long, we don't really know about what goes on in the city completely just yet." Jaune said to them.
This caused the girls to look on in understanding. Anya then decided to explain to them.
"Monsterphelia, is a big festival that is put on by the Ganesha familia every year, nya. It is really special and amazing." Anya said to them, making Jaune and Bell nodding in understanding. It almost reminded Jaune of the Vytal Festival, but the good things, he doesn't want to be stuck in the past with all the bad, that has gone down.
Ryuu then continued with the explanation.
"They take over that arena over there, for the entire day, and they train the monsters that they capture, in the dungeon. Thousands come to see it." Ryuu said to them.
"As you can see, it is a really impressive performance for everyone there, nya!" Anya finished, but she said purr in perfect like a cat. That caused Jaune to snort a little. But, Bell and Jaune were surprised, they didn't know that the monsters could be tamed. To do that is crazy, it had to be some kind of skill or something.
But with that Bell and Jaune made their goodbyes, and went off to find Syr.
In a restaurant stood two of the most powerful goddesses in all of Orario. The goddess of beauty herself, Freya, and the trickster goddess herself Loki. Standing behind Loki was her favorite adventurer, Ais Wallenstien, AKA The Sword Princess.
Ais was a blonde young woman with long straight blonde hair, and golden eyes. She had a constant blank look on her face. Not to say she wasn't emotionless, she was always just like that.
Loki wanted to have Ais with her so she can go on a "date" with her. In truth Loki wanted to hang out with her. But, she also wanted her to accompany her with for a meeting she had with Freya. What surprised Loki was, Freya was alone. She usually had Ottar with her, but here she was in disguise. With a cloak over her.
The conversation started out smoothly enough. But Loki knew why she wanted to meet, to talk about a new adventurer she wanted to get her hands on. Loki could all but smirk, she felt pity for the poor sod who has caught this horny goddess' attention.
"Man, you are one horny goddess aren't you?" Loki questioned, with Ais raised an eyebrow at that. What was she getting at?
"So what adventurer has caught your eye this time, huh?" Loki questioned. Freya just looked at her smiling, oh she was going to like this.
"It's not just one, but two, it truly surprised me." Freya said to her fellow goddess. That made Loki open her eyes slightly at that. Two caught her attention?! What had she seen?
"Two huh, so what are you up to this time? You really ster up trouble where ever you go." Loki said to Freya. Again, Freya just kept her calm smile. "You are really one messed up goddess.
Meanwhile
The Knife was done, it was solid black over a foot long almost 14 inches in length. The blade was thick, but not too bulky. All that needed to be done was for Hestia to touch it, and it's true power could be unlocked. Hestia took her glove off and ran her finger down the body of the blade, and the blade started to glow, and hieroglyphs and runes were put on the knife. Hestia looked up to Hephaestus, gazing at her to see what was to be done next. Hephaestus looked up from the knife with a smile on her face.
"It is all done." Hephaestus said to Hestia. Said goddess eyes lit up in absolute joy.
"Hooray you did Hephaestus!" Hestia jumped up and down with joy. Hephaestus just looked on with amusement, she will admit many things, and she will admit that Hestia can be very adorable.
She then wrapped up the knife up in cloth tied it around Hestia so it wouldn't fall off. Hestia looked at it appreciatively, and turned around to look at how it feels and looks on her.
"Thank you so much Hephaestus, is it ok if I can give it to him right away?" Hestia asked her friend.
"Give it to him whenever you want, as long as you remember what you owe me." Hephaestus told her. Hestia looked at her and agreed but, Hephaestus continued. "And, make sure you bring your newest member here, I still need to figure out more of this weapon's secrets, and a discount on that blade for your Bell would be given too." Hephaestus said to Hestia as she looked at Crocea Mors back at her desk.
She must figure out how it works, technology like this could be game changing for her familia, and for all mortals! Hestia just smiled at that, she knows Hephaestus won't do anything without Jaune's, and hers permission.
"You got it, I can come back tomorrow if you need me, I want to find Bell in Monsterphelia, and rest, we up all night, and day doing this." Hestia said to her. Hephaestus just nodded, and smiled at that. She can agree with Hestia's logic, she wants her well rested for this when she talks to Jaune about his blade.
Back outside
"So these, kids your after what are they like anyway?" Loki got into the meat and potatoes of the situation, she had to know what caused such a goddess to seek out two people.
"The first one is, weak, unreliable, and an easy crier. But he is pretty. He has an aura that is clear, and pure. A color that I have never seen before. Finding him just happened, out in the crowd, and he stood out to me, and vanished from my sight as quickly as he came." Freya said to the goddess. Then she continued with the other.
"The other one. Bright, a wounded heart, and uplifting. I managed to get a good look at him. His aura is….bright. Just like the first nothing I have ever seen before. It's like his soul is protecting him on the outside, and at the same time still inside of him. His rays are like the sun, but is soothing and warm, and is able to empower, and uplift those around him. " Freya said Loki. Loki looked surprised at that.
A person's soul able to protect oneself, and at the same time be inside of them, that was crazy. On the inside Ais was surprised of that, how does that work, it made no sense. But she looked out to her left, and seen two people running through the crowd, a white haired, red eyed bunny, in her eyes. And a taller young man, with hair like her own, but much shorter, and eyes blue like the ocean. They both ran passed quickly.
At that Freya just stood up, confusing the both there.
"Something wrong?" questioned Loki.
"I'm sorry but there has been a little emergency that I need to take care of." Freya said to Loki. Loki just looked on confused and slightly hurt for her to just go like that.
"What you can just g-"
"Fair well for now my dear." Freya interrupted Loki, and turned and walked out the room. Loki and Ais just watched her go.
"What was that all about weird?" Loki questioned out loud and looked at the bill, and got angry. "Hey! She just left me with the check, that woman!" Loki yelled out frustratingly. She then looked at Ais, who looked to be in deep thought, she got concerned about that.
"Hey so what's wrong Ais, something up?" Loki questioned her adventurer. Ais just got her bearings back.
"It's nothing." Ais said easily.
Meanwhile, Bell and Jaune stood in between two stalls looking about, and they were both slightly overwhelmed with all the people going about in streets.
"Wow, it was really like how they said it would be. Was it like this back in your home Jaune?" Bell questioned him. Jaune just looked over, and smiled slightly.
"Yeah, but it was more spread out, and dare I say a little more organized, a little more spread out, and you were able to find things easier. But other than that, it's pretty much the same." Jaune said to Bell.
"But, granted more advanced of course." Jaune said with a slight chuckle, and Bell did the same a little. And he started to look around again more, but got a little annoyed.
"But, finding Syr in all of this is going to be next to impossible. With all of these people we could be looking for hours until we find her." Bell said. Jaune nodded at that, with good height, even he couldn't spot her.
"Yeah your right, and how is it so hard to find a young woman with silver hair, I have barley seen that since coming here." Jaune said to Bell. Bell had to agree with him on that, heck, he was the only young person to have snow white hair in this city so far! Their thoughts were broken up when they heard a familiar voice.
"Oh hey Bell, and Jaune, good that I found you two so soon!" They heard the voice of Hestia to their right, and seen their short goddess. That caused them to smile slightly.
"Oh goddess your back." Bell said to her, with Jaune giving a small smile.
"So did everything turn out ok?" Jaune asked her, which Hestia responded with a smile and a happy nod.
"Yes it did Jaune, I missed you two so much, how about you two? Did you miss me, especially you Bell." Hestia questioned. That caused Bell to blush slightly, and Jaune to smirk slightly at him, without him seeing.
"W-well yes I did goddess but-" Bell said to her but she interrupted him
"Ohh Bell~. I knew the two of us would share an unbreakable bond." Hestia said to Bell, she then grabbed his hand, and grabbed Jaune's wrist. This confused both boys, while they were being dragged by Hestia.
"U-um goddess, w-what are you doing?" Bell questioned with his cheeks now red. Jaune was confused himself. Hestia just looked back at him, with a kind smile.
"Let's go on a date, alright Bell?" Hestia said to Bell. This caused Bell's eyes to widen, and Jaune's to widen slightly, and quirking his eyebrow 'Then why drag me around?!' Mentally shouted at himself. That brought him back to his sisters, where they would sometimes drag him around, just to have someone with them. Or when they have company, and needed a third or fifth person for some reason.
He then thought about going on 'dates' with Terra, and Saphron, but Jaune was just the third wheel while they just laughed, and kissed each other. At times they would forget about him, and so enamored with each other. Jaune knew about their attraction toward each other, but it got a little painful being around that love so much, with no one to return it to you.
Bell started to speak up, wanting to get back at the matter at hand.
"W-w-wait goddess, m-me and Jaune are supposed to be looking for somebody." Bell said to Hestia, with Jaune nodding in agreement.
"Ohhh, let's look for them while we have our date, Jaune here can keep a look out." Hestia said to them. With Jaune getting annoyed at that, she was using them a body guard for the date! Jaune was about to voice his complaints. But Hestia turned to him, and smiled at him.
"But, with that Jaune I need to talk to you, it is about your weapon." Hestia said to him, while smiling. That caused Jaune to perk up. Now that he's mentioned it, where was his weapon now? Is it at home, or with that Hephaestus goddess? While he will find out later, he's just got to survive this date for these two. Jaune just sighed defeated, and sadly, looking down with slightly sad eyes.
'It looks like you're the third wheel again Jaune.' Jaune thought to himself. He felt like that when Ruby got Weiss back as her partner, he felt alone again for the most part. And Yang there didn't make much of a difference with him in that department, she was only near Ruby, and Weiss more often than not.
His face then heated up remembering what Yang did for him, before he killed Cinder. Pyrrha may have been his first kiss. But Yang really laid it on thick for him. She even said it was to thank him for looking after Ruby for almost a year, so there was that, but still. Third wheel….yay.
Coming back to his reality he heard Bell speaking again.
"That maybe a bad idea goddess." Bell said to her. He feels that Hestia will get jealous, and may cause a huge commotion, and he doesn't want that. But Hestia just ignored him, and went to a crepe stand.
"Three crepes for us, please sir." Hestia asked the stall owner. He agreed eagerly. Jaune just looked a little stunned not with the fact that Hestia just blew Bell off, but she was getting a crepe for Jaune too! The only time he got something from his sisters outings is either left overs, or heck even something small if they were feeling generous. He always had to pay for his own stuff.
Well except for Saphron and Terra, they always treated him too. They were truly the best. He looked down at that thinking about Adrian, Jaune managed to see a picture that his sister sent him, of Little Adrian a few months old, that was when he was out and about with team RNJR. He feels so bad for the little guy, he will grow up, not knowing who his uncle is.
But Bell kept trying to get Hestia's attention.
"But, goddess, we still need to-" Bell never finished his sentence. He decided to stop for now, seeing that he won't be able to talk to her at all like this.
They had their crepes filled and they found a nice grassy area. Hestia sat close to Bell, while Jaune sat a little farther away from them. He wasn't going to get in the way of this 'date' that Hestia made Bell agree to.
"He Bell try mine it is really good." Hestia held up he crepe to Bell. Bell on the other hand was just shocked at that.
"Wait goddess, I can't take something from you, besides, would that be kind of?" Bell trailed off looking down. Jaune just shook his head with a small grin. Bell should have allowed a little nibble, that is a dating rule, share the food.
Hestia just pouted at Bell, making her cheeks puff up, cutely.
"Ohhh~ Bell, what's wrong? Are you grossed out just because I bit into it already, that is so mean." Hestia said to Bell still pouting. Bell perked up at that.
"No it's not that! It's just wrong to take food from a goddess." Bell said to Hestia, but then he held up his crepe to her. "Here you have some of mine ok?" Bell said to Hestia. Jaune then retracted his previous thought, mistake was not made after all.
"Oh Bell you silly boy. But, ok" Hestia said to Bell gushing at that now. She leaned in an to a bite out of his crepe. As she took the bite, a piece of the crème was on her cheek. Bell pointed up, and it seemed like his whole body turned pink and steaming. He was already flustered.
Jaune was holding in the urge to laugh at Bell, but he just a small chuckle at that. Hestia just giggled at him and leaned forward slightly.
"Oh Bell.~" Hestia started, giving off a flirty voice. "Would you mind getting this for me, please~?" Hestia said in a flirty tone. Bell just nodded, and slowly and shakily lifted his finger up, and took the crème off of her. That caused Hestia to gasp, and giggle at that, and started to wave her body back and forth a little celebrating a romantic gesture in her eyes.
Jaune just looked on smiling. Then his smile turned into a said smile. He looks on to see if he an Pyrrha could have been that, with Hestia being Pyrrha, and for a little bit he thought of Ruby. Jaune shook his head at that.
'No! I can't think that way with two great people like that at the same time! That would be wrong, wouldn't it?' Jaune thought to himself, eating his crepe more now, while blushing slightly.
Meanwhile, under the coliseum, Freya was walking down a long hall way, to where the monsters would be at. One by one, all the guards around the pens were fainting. They all had the look a satisfactory on their faces. The look after they had the best orgasm in their lives. They were moaning a little, and drooling from such ecstasy.
Hestia walked up to a bunch of cages, and looked at them. And put a charm on the ones she wanted to let free. She then went up to a white gorilla. Almost 10 times larger than a regular gorilla, looked almost to be about 2 stories tall. It was chained to wall, so it wouldn't break the bars. Freya just smiled at the creature, and giggled.
"Oh~, you will do just fine." Freya said to it. She unlocked the giant cage, and entered it. She then approached the white ape, and put a hand on it's chained face. She was glowing in a purple energy that was going over her body.
"It is a real shame. I wanted to see his progress go on a little while longer, but you will have to do." Freya said, putting a charm on the monster.
Back outside, Hestia, Bell, and Jaune were eating some meat on a stick(don't know what it is). Hestia got a slight annoyed look, as Bell, and Jaune were eating their food.
"Hmmmm, so it seems though that you two failed to mention that the person you were looking for was a girl." Hestia said to them. But she gained a slightly teasing tone. "Oh Bell, Jaune, you two are such sly dogs." Hestia teased them. Causing Bell to panic slightly , and Jaune to look over with a raised eyebrow.
"H-hey, what's that supposed to mean?!" Bell asked out.
"Yeah I want to know too Hestia?" Jaune asked next. Hestia just looked away, jealous and pouting a little.
"Oh it's nothing!" Hestia said to them. Bell tried to salvage the situation.
"Goddess you don't understand." Bell said to her about to explain, but then Jaune spoke up.
"Yeah he's right, we were asked to give this girl her purse, since she forgot it. We know what she looks like of course, but we were having a rough time finding her." Jaune said to Hestia informing her. Hestia just looked down at that.
"Oh….ok." Hestia said, still jealous!
Jaune just sighed, and felt truly like the third wheel again, but he wanted to know why she wanted to talk to him earlier.
"So goddess, you said something that I had to talk to someone about my Crocea Mors right?" Jaune asked her, and Hestia perked up at that, and faced him.
"Oh yes, thank you for reminding me Jaune!" Hestia said smiling at him. "Hephaestus wants to talk to you personally about your weapon. She was very interested in it. After that she will give it back to you." Hestia said to him. Hephaestus wanted his permission to look at the internals more before upgrading it. She wanted to know the history of his blade and shield first , and any secrets that he knows, she wants to see if she could make something similar, at least with shield!
Jaune looked on shocked at that, none more than Bell. Bell just looked at Jaune in shock, to have an audience with a goddess outside of your familia, especially with one as high ranking as Hephaestus! Jaune gained his bearings and continued talking to Hestia.
"W-well, o-ok." Jaune stuttered a little. "But, why does she want to talk to me?" Jaune asked, he probably had a feeling it was the mechashift function, but it was probably also, something else too. Hestia looked down a little and was thinking of what to say.
"Well she-" Hestia never finished her sentence, as everyone around them heard a big crashing sound coming from the big entrance of the coliseum. Everyone was screaming and running when a white gorilla came out of the entrance, Bell, Jaune, and Hestia looked on shocked.
'Reminds me of a Beringel, but less bony, and not charcoal black!' Jaune thought to himself, he was reaching for his sword, but remembered that he didn't have a weapon on him, so he kept his guard up willing to fight hand to hand if he had to.
"Uhh, Bell, Jaune." Hestia was about to tell them to run.
'Capture the one with hair like mine.' The command was given to the gorilla, and the creature spotted them. Hestia looked on with concern.
"Uh guys, I think that thing is looking at me, it really feel it is." Hestia said to them with growing concern, the monster swung on the top of the entrance, and jumped towards them. Jaune, and Bell grabbed Hestia and started running.
"Goddess why is that thing chasing your?! Have you ever seen this thing before?!" Bell asked still dragging Hestia. All three of them ran into a tight ally, where the creature couldn't follow.
"No, I have never seen that thing before!" Hestia said to them. Jaune felt like he wanted to say something but, he seen the creature climbing over the wall. They all got out of the alley, and stopped at where they were at.
"Wait I know this street." Bell said, and they all looked back to see the monster climbing of the roofs.
"Let's go, we can possibly lose it in here." Jaune said to Bell and Hestia. The ran more into the area, but Jaune was pissed at himself.
'Damn it! We are taking it where civilians are at. Sure we can have more places to hide, but the people are going to be in danger too! I knew we should have chose a different area, and Bell felt it too, but we don't have any other options right now!' Jaune thought to himself. Berating himself for not coming up with a better plan than this. They kept running as the monster was jumping over head.
They kept running corner to corner, turn after turn. Trying to shake the beast. It felt like it was working. Jaune looked up to see people closing their windows, as to not be targeted by this thing. Jaune smirked at this.
'Good they are keeping themselves safe, and it seems like this thing is just after us and no one else.' Jaune said to himself. As they all rounded the last corner for now they stopped to take a breath believing that the monster lost them.
But the creature jumped down from the roofs, the impact to the ground had caused all three of them to be launched back some ways, Bell and Jaune quickly got their bearings quickly but Hestia, not so much.
"Bell, Jaune!" Hestia yelled out to them. She was on the ground due to the small tremor it made, and the monster turned around a looked at Bell. It's angry red eyes looking at him.
All Bell could see was the Minotaur that attacked him, and the absolute fear he had from then.
Bell, just froze he couldn't move a muscle.
Jaune saw this, and was about to call out to Bell, but seen it turn away and go after Hestia. Jaune just got up and threw a brick at it's head. The throw was good enough to stagger it slightly. The monster cried out in pain, and he seen it start to bleed.
"Yeah, that's right, coming over here, you damn dirty ape!" Jaune yelled out to it. The monster was still disoriented and wanted to punch/ swipe at Jaune, but it was going towards Hestia instead.
Bell was still standing there, seeing what was happening.
'I'm scared, I am so scared, I can't move. But, I'm a man aren't I?! You can do it Bell, you can't run away from a girl who's in trouble!' Bell amped himself up to fight, he jumped in with a knife to stab down on the creature. He stabbed down at eh back of it's exposed fur and skin, and the knife just shattered!
The ape was so angry it winded up a big punch. Jaune saw what was about to happen, he jumped and pushed Bell out of the way! Before Jaune knew it, he was looking at a giant fist, and that fist collided with him
Jaune was sent flying!
As Jaune went flying, Bell and Hestia grew wide eyed and filled with dread fearing for his safety. And Bell, for the guilt for allowing this to happen.
"JAUNE!" Both Bell, and Hestia screamed out to Jaune as he was in the air. They knew that they couldn't get to him in time, especially with this monster on their tails. The monster was slowly getting it's bearings, that thrown brick caused a small concussion for the monster, and Bell took advantage of it's state. Bell found a magic stone lantern and thrown it at the creature. It caused a huge blinding light, and caused the monster to scream in pain, of being temporarily blinded.
Bell then ran towards Hestia and started running away. And Bell started to think in dread.
'I can't do it! I'm not strong enough, and my weakness got Jaune blown away! I don't even know if he is seriously hurt, or worst!' Bell thought to himself, hating himself that he can't protect her, and Jaune when needed. But he continued with putting himself down.
'I can't protect her. He's going to keep chasing us, what am I supposed to do?! We can't keep running forever!' Bell thought to himself. They entered another area. Bell came to a conclusion. He gently pushed Hestia behind caged door, and closed the latch.
"Hey Bell, what are you doing?" Hestia questioned. Bell just looked at her with a sad smile.
"I'm sorry goddess. But I am buying you some time. Please get out of hear while I hold this thing off. Find Jaune if you could, and find some strong enough adventurers to help you with that thing." Bell said to her, resigning to his fate.
"What are you talking about Bell, open this door right now!" Hestia demanded of her first child. Bell just turned around not listening to her order.
"Listen to me goddess." Bell said to his goddess. "I am not going to lose anymore family, so please find Jaune, and get out of here, please Hestia." Bell said to his goddess determined to end this. He started running away.
"Bell wait, don't go! Come back Bell!" Hestia called out to her first child. Only for him to ignore her and continue on.
A/N: Another chapter in the books. Now I am thinking of not showing too much of Bell's side next chapter since we all know what is going to happen. Except that he will be much stronger than before, and I am going to make the time lapse a little longer in this world, because I have an idea. It may be a little different, I just hope people like it.

The next chapter we will see where Jaune falls to. Or rather crashes into. And we will see one of our favorite amazons again!
