Hey everybody! It's that time again for me to write something new instead of what I'm supposed to be working on 😝

I think pregnancy fluff may be my favorite type of fluff now so my brain thinks of it constantly haha

I hope y'all enjoy this little piece!

Marinette slowly opened her eyes, blinking as her bedroom ceiling came into view. She looked around, wondering what time it was as the sun had begun to set. The room was hot and her skin became dotted with beads of sweat. It was then when she realized that she was laying on her back. She tried taking a deep breath, only to be met with a feeling of something pressing against her lungs.

"Crap," she muttered. She closed her eyes, vaguely remembering that she had fallen asleep on her side. A small foot kicked her in the ribs, reminding her of exactly why she felt so uncomfortable. "Dang it, not now." She winced, placing both hands on top of her swollen belly before letting herself roll over onto her left side.

Finally, she breathed deeply as the pressure moved away from her chest. She pressed a hand flat against the sheets, attempting to push herself up. Her arm wobbled and she quickly fell over again. With a frustrated huff, she attempted it once again before quickly falling over.

After a few more failed attempts, Marinette laid there, her body limp as she gasped for breath. Her eyes filled with frustrated tears as she let out a small sob. The room had gotten dark, making her wonder just how long she had been trying to get up.

"Adrien!" She yelled in a raspy voice, hoping he would still hear her. "Adrien!"

It wasn't even thirty seconds before she heard a pair of feet slam onto the wooden floor. The sound of speedy footsteps grew louder as he made his way to their bedroom.

The door creaked open as Adrien stuck his head into the room. Through the dim light, she could make out the gentle smile laid across his lips. "What's wrong, my love?" He asked softly, almost in a whisper. "Did you have a good nap?"

She sniffled, trying (and failing) to blink back the remaining tears in her eyes. "I need help," she held out a hand to him. "I can't get up."

He quickly switched on the light and ran over to her, grabbing ahold of her hand. "Don't worry, I've got you," he reassured her.

As she had done before, Marinette pushed against the bed in an attempt to bring herself upright. Except this time, she had Adrien tugging on her other hand.

"Easy, there ya go," he pulled on her arm as she finally managed to sit up. He placed a hand on her shoulder, making sure she was stable. "Is that better?"

She wiped her eyes before looking at him. "Much, thank you," she said before clearing her throat.

His eyebrows furrowed as he noticed her swollen, red eyes. "Have you been crying?" His voice was low and full of concern.

"Maybe a little," she lied. Her hands fell to her stomach, cradling it as she felt faint kicks from within. A sudden lump made its way to her throat and she looked back at him with watery eyes. "Okay, it was actually a lot." Her voice gave out as she let the tears flow.

Adrien knelt down, pulling her into a tight hug. "Oh, Marinette."

She let her head fall into his chest, burying her face into the cloth of his shirt. Her body shook as she sobbed, crying so hard that she began gasping for breath.

"Breathe, breathe," he rubbed circles on her back and held her tightly against him. "It's okay."

After a few minutes, she let herself calm down and take a few deep breaths. She laid her head on his shoulder and sighed as she felt him kiss the back of her neck. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be," he pulled away to look at her and gently placed one of her hands in his. "You're pregnant, these things happen."

Marinette wiped her eyes before closing them again as they burned. "Exactly, I'm pregnant and I'm sick of it," she hiccuped and let her head fall, staring down at her round belly. "I'm so, so tired of it."

Adrien sat down next to her, looking at her with worried eyes as he placed a gentle arm around her back. "I'm sorry," he brushed a piece of damp hair behind her ear and kissed her cheek. "I wish I could take all of your pain away."

She shook her head. "Well, you can't, so I'm left to deal with it," she caught the hint of poison in her voice and looked up at him. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it like that."

"No, it's okay," he placed a finger under her chin. "You're carrying around a little human inside of you." He put his hand on her stomach. "You have every right to complain about not feeling well."

"Everything hurts," she said in a low voice. "I miss not feeling like I'm choking on air every time I sit up. I miss being able to shave my legs, hell, I miss being able to see my feet and put on my shoes!" A few stray tears fell down her cheeks.

He used his thumb to wipe her cheek. "That's what I'm here for, my lady," he flashed that soft smile of his and it warmed her up on the inside.

"My feet hurt constantly and I always feel like I'm gonna pee my pants," she continued and her eyes fell onto their bed. "And…oh god, Adrien, I probably fart on you all the time. I'm so sorry."

He laughed at that. "You absolutely do, but it's okay," he leaned forward and kissed her nose. "Growing a human is a lot of work and I signed up for this just as much as you did." He rubbed her belly, smiling as he felt soft kicks against his hand. "I knew that would mean holding you when you were sick, going out at ungodly hours of the night to get that food you were craving and even dealing with your pregnancy toots."

She giggled a bit. "Don't say it like that…" she leaned into him, resting against his chest as her body shook with laughter. "Oh god…I just peed a little."

Adrien kissed her hair. "I'll help you clean it up, too," he told her. "That's what I'm here for."

Her laughter was soon replaced with soft whimpers as she pulled on his shirt. "Stop being so sweet," her watery blue eyes met his shining green ones as she tilted her head up. "I can't handle it."

He smiled brightly, once again brushing away her tears before placing a gentle kiss on her lips. They stayed there, only for a moment, soaking up each other's warmth as their breathing synchronized.

Their lips parted and the kicks in her belly grew stronger, causing Marinette to jump in surprise. She looked down at her growing baby bump, caressing it as she felt the tiny feet moving against her hands.

Adrien placed his hands on top of hers, their eyes meeting once more. That was when she noticed the glistening in his green eyes. The sheer happiness he felt radiated through his smile, his warm hands and even the tears poking the corners of his eyes.

He leaned down towards her belly, peppering it with little kisses as he rubbed it gently. "I love you, baby," his voice was nearly a whisper, filled with a tenderness that nearly made her heart melt. "Don't be so hard on your maman, okay? She's trying her best."

Marinette smiled brightly, running a hand through his wispy blond hair. "They love you," she said. "And so do I."

Adrien looked up at her and wiped his eyes. "I love you, too," he kissed her hand this time. "It'll be okay."

These were the moments that Marinette lived for. No matter how exhausted and irritated she felt, it was always relieving knowing that she had Adrien by her side. Seeing him already so in love with their baby made her heart melt and flutter violently in her chest. It gave her something to smile about even on the hard days.

Pregnancy was indeed the hardest challenge she had ever faced, but she wouldn't have changed even a second of it.

I wanted to write something that shows some of the more negative aspects of pregnancy. It's not all happiness and rainbows and Marinette is definitely feeling it. Hopefully she'll feel better soon ❤️
