Velvet let out a snort at Poppy and Floyd's conversation. Veneer turned and looked at his sister, as did Floyd and Poppy, and that was a mistake. A beat of silence hit, then the twins started to laugh.

"Is there something wrong?" Floyd asked, him and Poppy sporting equal confusion.

"Uh… No. S-Sorry! Sorry!" Veneer apologized in between his laughter. "It's just that me and Velvet were the same way back when we were younger."

"Uh, no way. No way. I was a saint. Thank you very much," Velvet said, flipping her ponytail back.

Veneer looked at Velvet and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah… sure… because a saint flips a dinner table because she thought dad was 'attacking her', right?"

"Uhh! He was!" Velvet stated. "Asking me 'How school was?' Like he didn't have to pick us up early from school because I beat up a girl."

"For no reason," Veneer retorted.

"For yes reason!" Velvet snapped in response. "She called you dumb then, most importantly and insulting of her words, called me ugly. She should have known she had it coming."

Veneer rolled his eyes but smiled. "Vel, you beat her up because she called me dumb."

Velvet rolled her eyes and pushed Veneer's face away from hers, much to the shock of the two trolls who stayed standing on the branch they were on and glancing between the arguing siblings. "It was MOSTLY because she made the decision to call me ugly! Please don't get ahead of yourself, Veneer."

That didn't stop Veneer from hugging Velvet. "Awwww… Vels! You love me!"

"Veneer, I'm going to beat you up!" Velvet threatened as she tried to push her brother off of her again.

"Aw, come on, admit it, big sis. You love me!" Veneer repeated.

"Not anymore I don't, you ignoramus!" Velvet snapped. "Let me go, you clingy baby!"

"Ignoramus?!" Veneer rolled his eyes.

Poppy laughed and rolled her eyes as she watched the interaction between the twins. "Oh yeah, I totally see it."

"Me too, but I can't tell if this is supposed to be an actual argument or a case of normal sibling rivalry," Floyd said. "My brothers' arguing was far less worse than this is."

Poppy looked at Floyd briefly, looked up at a still arguing Velvet and Veneer, then glanced back at Floyd. "I think I'm going to go with the latter. And that's coming from a queen who didn't have any experience with sibling rivalry myself, not that I wanted any rivalry to happen, due to Viva having been separated from me and dad for, I think, 21 years. Did you ever think about coming back to Branch?"

"Yeah…" Floyd looked down, briefly, letting out a soft sigh before looking back up at her and nodded. "Countless times."

"Why didn't you?"

"I…" Floyd bit his lip, pausing for a brief moment to think of what to say next. "I just couldn't do it. As much as I wanted to. If I had known Branch was going to end up all alone without Grandma soon after, grey too, I should have gone back to him sooner. I feel bad for myself. I regret not coming back—"

"And that's a slight apology 24 years in the making," a familiar voice sounded from behind them.

The conversation between Poppy and Floyd came to a halt, the pair turning quickly to find Branch and the rest of the brothers standing a few feet behind them. Branch's arms were folded and he kept his attention focused solely on Floyd. The rest of their brothers were looking up, staring at a still arguing Velvet and Veneer, all shocked. Eventually, of the brothers, it was Bruce who spoke up, cutting a brief silence short, gesturing to the twins.

"Why are these guys out of prison—?"

"They escaped," Floyd replied, turning, his attention on Bruce now. "And they had just finished explaining all of that to Poppy and I…"

"Are you serious?" Clay spoke up after a brief moment of silence. When Floyd and Poppy nodded in response, he continued, "And I'm going to assume that that was all Velvet's plan?"

"Pretty much," Floyd confirmed with a nod. He looked up at the twins, who'd since stopped their arguing and were now looking down at them. "And now I'm not sure what to do about a situation like this. Redemption? Letting them stay for a little while, for who knows how long?" He glanced around at each of his brothers and Poppy. "Do any of you have any idea what to do?"

"Hmm… I think we're going to have to stick with redemption," Branch spoke up first.

"But Veneer's already redeemed himself," Poppy said, briefly looking up at the aforementioned before glancing back at him.

"He said he had a change of heart. That's not fully redeeming himself. It's going to take a lot more than that," Floyd stated. "And Velvet—"

"Velvet's going to take a lot longer to fully redeem herself," Clay stated, glancing around. "I think three of us should help Velvet redeem herself and the other three should help Veneer—"

"I think three of us should help both of them at the same time," John was quick to say. "I think it should be—"

"Me, Branch and Poppy?" Floyd suggested, cutting John off before he even had a chance to finish.

"But what about the rest of us?" Bruce asked, the only one of the six who'd had yet to speak.

"I think you, John and Clay should go ask my dad and Viva what to do," Poppy said. A pause. Bruce looked at her as if to say, 'are you sure?' Poppy nodded before he could actually ask it.

"Well..if you say so…" Bruce turned looked over his shoulder at John and Clay before the trio left, leaving Branch, Poppy and Floyd to talk amongst themselves over what to do from there.

If they could figure out what to do from there.
