Chapter 43: Next stop: Varna.

9:46 AM

The Yorktown and Rodrigo de Vivar divisions were gathered in the training camp of the school carrier, listening to a speech from their respective commanders.

"As you well know, the final of the European tournament is just a few days away. Our two teams will be supporting the regular team against the Kursk." Francisca announced.

"To be better prepared for the match, we will be doing a series of joint training sessions, including some simulated matches; at Hilda's request, these sessions will be held on land. Any questions?" Dwight said.

"Where will the training sessions take place?" One of the Yorktown tank crew asked, raising her hand.

"Bulgaria, Varna region, Devnya municipality."

"Will the other Foreign Legion divisions be participating?" Another girl, from the Rodrigo, asked.

"Yes, but each of them will be going to a different municipality."

"And the regular formations?"

"Of course they will be there too."

"Where will the training sessions take place?"

"In the countryside, far from the towns. Oh, I forgot… Some Ferdinand I scouts will be present at the training sessions."

"What is Ferdinand I?" Kay asked Babe, who was standing next to her.

"The school representing Bulgaria in the tournament; it was eliminated in the first round by Carol I, the school representing Romania."

"Where will we stay during our stay in Bulgaria?"

"We will set up base camps in the training areas."

"When will we get there?"

"We will first land at the port of Varna. From there we will continue inland."

"What if we damage a field or a farm?"

"The Bulgarian government (which is hosting us) will pay for any damage done during training out of its own pocket. However, remember that as guests, we must behave in the most civil and polite manner possible: no fights, no offensive behavior, no noise, do not leave garbage lying around, do not disturb the premises, do not steal or commit acts of vandalism. Anyone who violates these rules will be punished with the utmost severity! Did I make myself clear?" Dwight asked.

"YES MRS!" The girls on both teams responded in unison.

Sarah nodded in satisfaction.

"Very good… Sam, now go with the roll call!"

Samantha adjusted her sunglasses, grabbed her smartphone, and began calling out a series of names:

"Maria Ramirez!"

"Present!"

"Jessica Clinton!"

"Present!"

"Claudia Baker!"

"Present!"

"Miguela Rodriguez!"

"Present!"

"Martah Robbie!"

"Present!"

"Cristina Diaz!"

"Present!"

Kay, turning to look at El, noticed that she looked sleepy.

"Did you sleep little?" She asked.

"Scarlett Johnson!"

"Yeah… I couldn't sleep a wink. You know, having to participate in such an important game makes me nervous. I walked around for hours, last night." The dark-haired girl replied, then yawned.

I can't tell her that I had sex with Hilda for hours and hours.

"Scarlett Johnson!"

"I'm nervous too, you know?" The blonde confided.

"I said Scarlett Johnson!" Samantha exclaimed, annoyed.

"Why, Kay-chan?"

"So, is Scarlett Johnson having fun?" Samantha asked, increasingly nervous.

"Well… I mean, everything is different, compared to… Before."

"Scarlett Johnson!"

"It's true…"

"SCARLETT JOHNSON!" Samantha shouted, furious.

Madison, who was behind Kay, punched her lightly on the head.

"Look, they're calling you!" She warned.

The former commander of the Saunders, noticing her distraction, said:

"Oh… Yes, it's me!"

Samantha passed her cell phone to Clark and approached Kay.

"See, Scarlett… Here we answer present, and above all we answer immediately. Are you deaf, stupid bitch?"

And with that she punched her in the stomach, which took her breath away, making her collapse to her knees, with her hands on the injured part.

El, angrily, started to protest, but Dwight preceded her, exclaiming:

"Sam! I already told you not to beat on the students!"

Intimidated, the Texan turned to her superior.

"C-commander… She was ignoring the roll call!" She said.

"She was simply distracted, and that is not a good reason to punch her!" Francisca intervened.

"I know, but…"

"No buts, Sam! This is already the second time this has happened! I WILL NOT TOLERATE A THIRD!" Dwight threatened her, raising her voice.

Samantha paled, trembling slightly.

"Forgive me, commander!" She said, taking off her glasses and staring at her commander with a pleading look.

"This is the last time! Next time you will end up in SS custody! Do you understand me?"

"Yes, ma'am!" Samantha exclaimed.

"Now start calling the roll again!"

The Texan nodded servilely, took back her smartphone and started calling the various students by name again.

At the same time Hilda was having breakfast at her house, with tea and biscuits.

A big breakfast is ideal after an intense fuck like the one last night.

She thought, satisfied.

At that moment someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!" She said, slightly annoyed.

"Sorry to bother you, Fraulein, but Emma would like to speak to you." Sebastian informed her.

"Let her come in."

The butler bowed, then opened the door and let Göring in, before taking his leave. The muscular woman stood in front of the table and raised her right arm, saying:

"Mein führer…"

"Sit down, and call me by my first name… Now we're in private." Hilda invited her, smiling benevolently.

Göring thanked her with a nod and sat down at the table.

"Would you like some tea? Or biscuits?" The hostess asked.

"I've actually had breakfast, but I'd be happy to have a couple of biscuits." Her deputy stated, snatching a couple from the bag on the table.

Always the same glutton…

The blonde thought, smiling slightly.

"So, what do I owe your visit to?" She asked.

Göring didn't answer at first, busy munching on the biscuits. When she finished she said:

"I wanted to tell you that in about half an hour we will be docking at the port of Varna. There will certainly be a delegation from the Ferdinand I waiting for us."

Hilda nodded.

"And Evdokija will certainly be there, captaining her."

She smiled.

"I can't wait to hug her again… She and I are the best of friends. And she is also a worthy rival, which I can say about very few commanders." She stated, and then let out a loud yawn.

"Are you still sleepy, Hilda?" Göring asked her.

The blonde nodded.

"Yes… You know that sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night or even have sleepless nights."

The stocky one nodded. She remembered that Hilda had once spent two sleepless nights studying a strategy to use against Weimar, a school in Thuringia, and the following evening, without even eating dinner, she had fallen into a deep sleep that lasted 10 hours, from seven in the evening to five in the morning.

"I was thinking… Where will our unit go?"

"Simple, Göring… We will follow the Yorktown and Rodrigo divisions."

"Is it to keep an eye on those two?"

"Yah… They are two interesting girls, who showed good leadership skills in yesterday's training."

"And what about their… Story?"

Göring coughed twice.

"The only way to know if it's true or not is to follow the Japanese panzerkraft championship and see if this school… Ooarai, if I remember correctly, wins the tournament or not." Hilda said, and then took a sip of tea.

"And by the way, I did some research on the internet. Ooarai is a coastal town located in Ibaraki Prefecture, on the island of Honshu; it has a population of about 30,000. The school those two are talking about is related to it, it has the same name after all."

"Well, I only know about the big Japanese cities, like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and others."

"Me too. Until yesterday, I didn't know about Ooarai. But we'll have time to investigate this matter in the future, now the priority is to train to win the upcoming tournament final."

"We'll make it, I feel it!" Göring stated, determined.
