Hey! I know this fandom is essentially non existent now but it was such a core part of my upbringing that I always go back to it. Even though I'm many years into adulthood, my mind always comes back to this fandom and the stories everyone has made. I hope everyone is living happy lives now :)
"You are a precious person to me"
"Come on, Fine! Does this not look exciting to you?" A blunette said, gripping her dear, reluctant sister's while walking towards a frightening yet fantastical haunted building. She had a strange look on her face, a mix of fear and excitement, like she was doing something she knew she shouldn't be doing.
"No, it doesn't. I don't know if I want to do this anymore either," Fine responded, he other hand trying to pull Rein's grip off her. She felt like she was on the verge of tears.
"Nope! I won't let you escape! We all agreed to do this together. If you chicken out now, it won't be fair to your partner," A blonde girl snickered next to them. Fine wanted to cry even more. She didn't know what she was thinking when she accepted this "test of courage." She knew Altezza was right too.
She looked at the rest of the group, everyone talking about what they'll be for Halloween or the types of scares that might happen. Their whole friend group decided one day after school to do a little test of courage at the local carnival. 'To get into the Halloween spirit', 'to see who is the most reliable' and 'make some fun memories' were the reasons given. Feeling peer pressured, she agreed as well, knowing her fear and worry would be drowned out by everyone else's excitement.
She let out a defeated sigh.
"It'll be ok, Fine. I'll be your partner!" Rein said. However, the expression she gave Fine sent shivers down her spine. She knew her sister would waltz in, maybe even run straight into the ghost if the opportunity arised. She vehemently shook her head.
"Sorry Rein! I already have a partner!" She reached out to the person closest to her, hoping it was someone reasonable. "We already talked beforehand and decided we would be partners!" She said in a bit of a panic, pulling whoever she grabbed into the conversation. Rein was shocked, finally releasing her sister's hand.
"When did you speak to Bright about this?" Rein asked, disheartened at this turn of events. Fine turned, shocked to see who her luck had chosen in the group. She quickly released his forearm, catching his confused glance as she forced him in the conversation, but then linked her arm with his.
"It was just before we all got together. Isn't that right Bright?" Fine stated, her voice kind of shaky. She gave Bright a pleading look, which he returned with a smile.
"Yes, she asked me really quick. Saying something like 'Your name matches your presence so much, I feel like you would light up the whole room and chase away everything scary!'" Fine felt her face turn a deep shade of red, but knew she couldn't say anything since he corroborated her false story.
"Y-Yeah! Sorry, Rein!" Fine apologized. Rein pouted. "Maybe next time!"
"I think Shade still needs a partner. You should speak to him," Bright added, winking at her. Blush dusted her cheeks, but she still had a frown.
"Alright, I'll talk to him," She gave Bright a stern glare. "Take care of her! I know you are a friendly and noble guy, but I won't let it slide if you let something happen to my sister!" Fine felt touched at her sister's words. She knows her sister cares about her, but its hard to tell when she drags her to such scary places.
"I swear on my life that I will protect and take care of her," Bright said, putting a hand over Fine's, causing her to blush. Rein nodded before looking for Shade. Fine looked to Bright, her face still red.
"You don't have to exaggerate, you know? On your life? You're so funny!" Fine said, trying to laugh off what could be interpreted as a serious statement. She knew he had a prince-like demeanor, but to think he would say something like that. "Are you practicing to be a prince for Halloween?" She joked. She felt Bright's grip on her hand get tighter.
"I'm serious," He said so nonchalantly, as though he didn't just say he would put his life on the line for her. "You are a precious person to me. I would never leave you behind." Fine was so shocked, she almost stopped walking. It was his gentle hand that made sure she they were still following everyone else. Her fear felt alleviated just a little bit.
"Are you going to hold my hand the entire time we're in there?" Fine asked, keeping her face low. She didn't want him to see how vulnerable she looked.
"I'll carry you the whole time if I have to," He responded with a chuckle. Fine held his hand tighter as they approached the front of the line of the haunted house.
Maybe she'll be okay this time around.
