Author's Notes: And he is our next chapter. A lot with this chapter has changed from the game in regard to Henley and his janitorial duties. It's been changed around and there's a part at the end that is new and adds more to the situation. Hope you enjoy.

Chapter 4: Accommodations

"We have arrived." Crowley said with a grin. Henley looked down the path to the building he'd be staying in. It was a large building with multiple floors. Henley noted in particular a tower room at the corner of the building. Despite how rundown the building was, he thought it had been quite beautiful once and could be again.

"Isn't it delightful?" Crowley asked.

"I'm excited to see it." Henley said with a smile.

"Let's head in then." Crowley said, casting a glance at the sky above him. "I'm certain it's going to rain soon." Henley cast the same glance above and saw what the man had. He nodded and followed the man through the black iron gate and up the stone stairs to the building that sat far back from the pathway.

"This should keep the elements at bay, at the very least." Crowley mused, fixing the large hole in the roof and a few other major issues. The building would still need cleaning, and there were a few other things that would need to be fixed. The boy did show an interest in fixing up the place, so he left somethings for the boy to focus on while he worked through what was happening to him.

"I have a few things to take care of, then I'll grab you some food. For now, I suggest that you get settled in. And do not leave the dorm." Crowley told the boy.

"Don't worry. I have plenty to get started on here." Henley assured the man who nodded worriedly.

"Very good. I'll return within the hour." Crowley told him before heading off. Not only did he need to look through the files and see if Henley's family was on his. But should he fail to find that information, he would need to take emergency custody until things were figured out. Then he needed to get the boy some clothes and other toiletries. And the boy's food.

Twisted Wonderland: Welcome to the Villains' World

Henley decided to start on the lounge that Crowley had showed him to. There had been some cleaning supplies in the kitchen, which was right next to the lounge through an open archway. After all, he hadn't even seen a clean place to seat before he got started on the lounge.

He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of thunder and the crash of rain on the windows, which distorted the view outside. "It's started raining." he mused.

"Yup, it's pouring!" A familiar voice shouted from behind Henley, causing him to screech and throw a thick dust cloth at the gray, flaming eared cat.

"Ack! What the heck!" Grim cried, spluttering at the dust in his face as the rag fell onto the couch.

"What are you doing here?!" Henley cried, backing up from the cat.

"As if I wouldn't sneak right back in after the prying eyes were gone! Why did you throw your dust filled rag at me?! Yuck!" Grim cried, still trying to get the dust out of his mouth.

"You're the one who snuck up on me!" Henley cried. The two watched each other for a moment, but once it became clear that no fire or more used cleaning supplies was going to fly, the two of them relaxed a bit more.

"So, why do you want to go to this school so badly?" Henley finally asked, starting a fire in the fireplace to warm the lounge up now that the rain was starting to make the room cold. Then he joined the cat on the couch that despite being covered in dust was still well maintained.

"Because I was born for this, obviously!" Grim said with an arrogant smirk. "I'm a magical prodigy who's got the makings to become one of the greatest mages who ever lived." he cried.

"I've been waiting for the black carriage to come get me, but it never did. The Dark Mirror's got no eye for talent. That's why I took the initiative and came here myself." He smiled with a grin. Then let out a cry as water dripped down on him from a small hole in the roof.

"Cmon, scoot over! I'm getting dripped on here!" Grim cried, squeezing closer to the human who raised an eye at the cat. "These flaming ears are like my trademark, y'know?" Grim whined, ears flattening against his head.

Henley snorted at the cat and crossed his arms. "Good luck with that Grim. The ceiling still has several holes in it." Henley said, standing from the couch and working on moving the couch out of the way of the small holes.

"I don't know why you don't just magic the holes away." Grim began. "Oh right! You can't use magic at all. Hah, you're useless!" Grim crowed, only to let out a startled ack, when Henley grabbed him by the back of his bow and lifted him up. Grim gulped fearfully at the flashing blush eye.

"I. Am. Not. Useless." Henley said with a gentle smile that caused shivers to run down his spine. "And you sure are talking a lot for someone who's trespassing in my current home." Henley smiled sweetly, dropping Grim back on to the couch.

"Now, shall we go look for some buckets?" He asked. Grim followed the human, muttering under his breath about him with unflattering terms.

Henley snorted at the cat as the duo made their way down the back hall and deeper into the building that Henley hadn't explored yet. The hallway was just as run down as the rest of the building though there were several windows and doors to rooms that Henley would be choosing his new bedroom from. And without the fire from the fireplace, it was also quite dark as well.

Henley sighed as he and the cat beast made their way down the hallway. Henley stopped though and turned around. 'Did I just... hear something?' he wondered. Then, rather suddenly, a ghost of all things popped up in front of him, causing him to cry out in surprise as he fell back on the ground.

"We haven't had visitors in ages!" the rotund ghost cried joyously as two others popped up next to the first one. A tall, very thin one. And a small one. "Oh, I'm just itching for new friends!" he cried, breaking out in laughter.

Henley yelped, scrambling back and accidently getting Grim's tail. "Meow! What was- Ghosts!" Grim yowled, scrambling back with the human.

"All the people who used to live here got scared of us and ran away." The smaller ghost said with sad look on his face.

"We just want a new ghost to play with! What do you say, buddy?" the first ghost asked, looking earnestly at the human. Well, that was a threat.

"A little help here!" Henley cried to the only one there who was able to fight back against ghosts.

Grim, despite his fear, was quick to jump to the human's aid. "I'm a master sorcerer! I ain't afraid of any dumb ghosts!" Grim cried, blowing out a stream of cerulean flame that didn't even come close to hitting the ghosts that had appeared.

And they were gleeful in taunting the cat beast. "Not even close!"

"Over here! Over here!" another laughed.

"They keep disappearing and reappearing." Grim cried several minutes later, panting. Henley glanced over at the cat only to see his eyes were closed.

"Grim! You can't aim with your eyes closed!" Henley scolded the cat, quickly ducking from his shower of flames. "And please be careful! You'll burn the dorm down."

"I don't need any lip from you kid!" Grim called back, but his eyes remained open, and he became more focused on the situation ahead of them.

'Okay, I'm sure I can help out somehow.' Henley thought as Grim sent another wave of flames when they got surrounded.

"Ganging up on us... You bunch of cowards." Grim cried.

Henley gave his trust to Grim and closed his eyes to focus on the area around him. He could sense the magical energy of the area and from those around him. He had figured that out not too long ago. How it was possible, Henley wasn't sure. It also wasn't constant unless he focused which he was doing now. It wasn't easy, but he did figure it out a bit.

"To your left." he said, snapping his eyes open. Grim reacted instantly, hitting his target and causing the ghosts to back off a bit. After several minutes of working together, the ghosts finally fled from them, though Henley had a feeling they were in high spirits. He and Grim shared a look before falling back on the ground and letting out large breaths of relief.

"Thanks for the help, Grim. You were incredible, by the way." Henley told the cat through his pants.

"Geeze, I was so scared-" Grim coughed. "I mean, they didn't faze me at all! Just a walk in the park for a mage like me!" Grim laughed. "What do you say now, ghosties!" Grim crowed.

"Good evening. I have arrived with your food." Crowley said, appearing out of nowhere. Grim and Henley screeched in alarm, Grim being squeezed painfully in Henley's arms. Crowley himself nearly lost the tray he was carrying Henley's food on.

Crowley blinked as he took in the sight before him. A creature heverymuchremembers having ejected from the campus being clutched tightly to Henley's chest, both panting and sweating. Looking at him with large eyes, even Henley's as his bangs were matted and away from his eyes. Henley was once more covered with pink burns. And there were some scorch marks along the hallway the duo was in. "I remember having it ejected from campus. What is it doing here?" Crowley asked.

"Taking care of your ghost problem, that's what!" Grim growled, wary of the man. "Which, you're welcome, by the way." he added haughtily.

Crowley really wanted to ask the boy what he was thinking but stopped and thought about Grim's words. "Right. This place was haunted, which is why it had been abandoned. And you're saying the two of you joined forces to drive them away?" he asked the two.

"Well, 'joined forces' ain't exactly how I'd describe it." Grim grumbled. "However, he wasn't exactly useless." he gave in.

'Hm... So, he was able to bend the creature to his will, even slightly. That would make him a... That would explain a couple of things.' Crowley thought. He really needed to find the boy's file and soon. "Would you be so kind as to demonstrate your ghost eradication methods for me?" Crowley requested, safely tucking the boy's food away for safety.

"One, no, because I already wiped them out." Grim said. "And two, no, because I want tuna!" he cried.

"I'll play the part of the ghost." Crowley said, rummaging through his coat for a certain vial. "As for the tuna, you'll receive it when you defeat me." he grinned at the two who gulped worriedly at the unholy glee in it. "Oh, what generosity, Crowley..." he said to himself out loud.

He grinned even wider when the two became just that more nervous. "Now to chug this transmutation potion" And in the next instant, Crowley was replaced as an adorable little ghost with a top hat, mask, and cloak.

"So cute!" Henley said without thinking.

Crowley preened at that though he gave no other notion that he had heard the boy who was now looking very embarrassed. "You gotta be kidding me! I have to work with the human again?!"

"Do it for the tuna, Master Sorcerer!" Henley cried as he stood, and the duo prepared themselves to face the head mage in an impromptu test.

"All right, but this is the last time." Grim said. "And I better be up to my jowls in tuna afterwards." he added, pointing his paw at Henley who chuckled.

Twisted Wonderland: Welcome to the Villains' World

The test had been both easier and more difficult than when they had faced the three ghosts. It was easier, due to the energy around Crowley being easier to pick up on because it was stronger than the ghosts' own. And because Henley was more attuned to it.

It was harder, due to Crowley's ability to dodge the majority of the flames Grim aimed at him. In addition, his flames didn't do a lot of damage when they did land. It was more like a warm gust of air for Crowley, who just seemed to brush it off.

Crowley himself was making observations and taking mental notes as the half hour test passed them by. They weren't bad. The creature was even landing hits besides the ones Crowley allowed. Grim's flames didn't have much power, but that might be more because of Crowley's immunity to fire in general. Then there was the boy who was quick to call out his location most of the time when he was planning on reappearing near Grim.

Crowley wasn't positive how the boy was picking him out despite his invisibility, but that gave him more theories about the boy's abilities which could prove to be more harmful than good for the boy. Hopefully, if his theories were right, then the boy would recall the training and precautions that had been put in place for him. To be this age and not have any in place was... a poor decision on his guardian's part to say the least.

"Well..." Grim panted as the man's potion wore off. "How did we do?" he asked from his place next to a just as exhausted Henley who was lying flat on his back. Crowley winced. The boy was supposed to be resting and here he was pushing him beyond his limits.

Oops. Hopefully Divus didn't find out about this. Henley sighed as he sat up reluctantly. "Would it be possible for Grim to stay with me?" he asked the head mage with wide pink eyes.

"What? A monster, stay here? After everything he's done to you this evening?" Crowley cried. It was like the boy forgot that the beast had attacked and hurt him on multiple occasions already!

"Whoa, did you just...?" Grim asked in surprise.

"Please, sir! What if there are more ghosts? Or some of those students take exception to me?" Henley asked, eyes pleading.

Crowley looked into the boy's eyes- both on display currently- and felt his conviction crumble to dust. He had placed Henley here to keep him safe and give him someplace to rest... That hadn't happened. "Very well." he sighed.

"Really?" Gim cried, shocked.

"Let me be clear!" Crowley said sternly, forcing Grim to calm down to hear what the man had to say. "It doesn't change that you still harmed multiple students tonight, including the one who is currently fighting for your place here." He told the other with a cool tone of voice.

Grim flinched back into Henley's arms. "So, you better keep yourself under control. If you become more of a threat to Henley, even he won't be able to convince me to let you stay." Grim nodded in understanding.

"As for you." He turned to Henley with a stern look. "Your enrollment to this school was accepted, otherwise the Black Carriage wouldn't have retrieved you. However, your situation is rather unique, and not one we've seen here before. While you adapt to your new situation, you won't be attending classes. This is for your benefit as much as it is mine, so I can try and find your files. That being said."

Crowley sighed and motioned the duo to follow him to the lounge which was already improving. He placed the food- and even the tuna for Grim- onto the coffee table that was still standing. "I have an unsettling feeling that you'll manage to find trouble if you're not kept busy." He told the boy.

"And while you won't be attending classes right away, I also won't be keeping you confined to the dorm. Instead, I'll have you do some cleaning around campus. Not only will this allow you to get used to the layout of the school, but I'll be paying you for it. This means that you'll get some money to jump start your funds for your time here."

"After all, you arrived here without a wallet, phone, or really anything of your own. And until all of the details can get hammered out, you'll have to pay for any extra clothes, foods, or incidentals that you'll need. " Crowley explained.

Henley nodded. That made sense, actually. And Henley did prefer to work for his money rather than having it handed out to him. He was a weird kid, sue him. "You can take lunch in the cafeteria. And you can visit the library while I work out a plan with the other teachers. You'll require a specialized education detailed to you specifically because of your situation as you regain more of your memories." Crowley told the boy who nodded in understanding.

"Alright, fine! Let's do it." Grim grumbled, giving in without too much of a fight.

"Sounds good to me." Henley agreed. It would be nice to earn some spending money

"Wonderful!" Crowley said with a smile. "Oh, yes. I've brought you some casual clothes, a P.E uniform to clean in, and some pajamas. I'll be by in the morning to wake you, bring you your breakfast and the potions Divus would like you to drink, and give you more details about you'll be doing tomorrow." Crowley said, handing over the bag.

"Alright. Thank you, sir. I really do appreciate everything you're doing for me." Henley thanked the man.

"I am but a generous man, indeed." Crowley said with a prideful smile. Henley chuckled lightly at that. "I'll see you in the morning and I hope that you'll get a good night's sleep." With that, Crowley left the dorm to return to his office.

Twisted Wonderland: Welcome to the Villains' World

Crowley dropped the file on his desk with the others, confusion rushing through him. It didn't make sense, but he had read the file right. He knows he did. But it wasn't making sense. He looked at the scattered papers in front of him. Eyes latched onto the single paper that had been in Henley's student file.

How was he already Henley's guardian? What connection did he have to the boy? Why was so much of the boy's file unavailable? Blacked out like his existence and the circumstances around it were a classified secret. He fell heavily back into his chair, picking up the paper. Who and when had his enrollment been approved? Other than Henley's own, his and the Dark Mirror were the only names available on the file.

Glowing gold eyes narrowed, and he stood back up. He slipped Henley's file into a warded drawer and waved his hand, sending the other papers and files back into the cabinet they had come from. Then he made his way towards the Mirror Chamber.

'What brings you here at this time?' the Dark Mirror asked, answering the Head Mage's summons.

"Who approved Henley Veil's enrollment, and when?" Crowley asked.

The mask in the mirror held Crowley's gaze. 'I wish I could answer your plea, but it is as much of a mystery to me.' the mirror replied, his voided eyes narrowing. 'Or did you forget, what being a cursed being begets?' the mirror asked. Crowley gritted his teeth in frustration.

"Of course I haven't forgotten!" He growled at the mirror. "I can never forget or ignore what's happening to me. But that shouldn't have anything to do with a child, who's existence is so real, but nearly impossible to confirm. Unless it does." he sighed.

"Is there anything you can tell me?" he asked the mirror, giving up as the frustration left him.

'Only that you're not the only one.' the mirror said, disappearing back into his verdant flames and leaving Crowley alone to watch the rain hit the glass as it continued to fall outside.

"Well, that answered just about nothing." he sighed, running a clawed hand through his hair.
