Author's Note: It's sad to hear that the actress who played Misty, Jessie and various characters for the franchise, Rachel Lillis, has passed away due to breast cancer. Riddle Me This
Our heroes are getting close to entering the Pokémon League. Now they're ready to compete for their seventh badge, the Volcano Badge. As they sail to Cinnabar Island, who knows what surprises await them at the island.
The trainers were sailing on a big boat. Seth and Slade were reading a couple of tour guidebooks about Cinnabar Island in their room. Jovan, Anna, July, Dragonair, Eevee and Vul walks up to their friends.
"I heard Cinnabar Island is supposed to be beautiful." Anna tells them.
"The island has an awesome volcano. Its Pokémon Research Laboratory is the best in the world. Many trainers from all over come to learn about the greatest Pokémon techniques." Brock explains.
"Once we arrive at the island, we'll head to the Cinnabar Gym for our next Gym Badge." Jovan said.
"Sounds good to me." Ash said.
"Don't worry, you'll get a picture with the two of us." a voice said.
Jovan turns his head to the right and notices Gary, Miles and the girls. Gary was wearing a tropical pink shirt with blue leaves, a red bathing suit, orange sandals and black shades. Miles was wearing a orange tank top, a black bathing suit, white sandals while holding a tropical smoothie.
"So who let these two losers on the boat?" Miles snickered.
"It's Gary and Miles!" Jovan exclaims. "Are you two going to Cinnabar Island as well?"
The two boys led them over to their spot on the deck. Once they get to the deck, there were many people. "Wow, look at all these trainers here." Jovan said.
"Really?" Gary scoffs. Jovan turns around to Gary and Miles laying down in a chair. "There hasn't been any Pokémon Trainers going to Cinnabar Island since my grandfather's days as a trainer. These people here all tourists that's going to the resort on the island."
"It's a resort?!" Ash exclaims.
"Gary and I earned many badges since we last met. So right now, the two of us are taking a nice break to work on our tan." Miles smirks at him.
Ash and Jovan walks up to their two rivals. "While you two do that, we'll be over at the Gym winning for a badge." Jovan said to them.
"There's no Gym on Cinnabar Island." Gary said.
"What do you mean? There has to be a Gym on Cinnabar Island."
"Believe what you want to." Miles said. "You'll be wasting your time when the ship docks at the port."
Jovan growls softly.
An hour later, the ship arrives at the Cinnabar Island Docks. They notice there was a lot of tourists roaming around.
"We might as well start looking for the Gym." Brock suggested and they all start walking.
The trainers saw a lot of different people walking around and taking in the sights. Each shop and store were different. July saw a cutout board.
"I don't see the Pokémon Gym around here. The only thing we see is a lot of tourists here." Slade said. "There are many nice islands out here. How come this place is so popular?"
Everyone stops to see a middle-aged man standing in front of them. He was wearing a long red sleeve shirt, red pants and a green necklace with black shades. His brown hair was long like his mustache that makes him look like a strange hippie from the nineteen seventies. "The answer to that one is a riddle. "What do tourists think is hot and cool?"
"I know the answer to that one." Ash smiled. "If you lay down in front of a refrigerator and wrap yourself in a electric blanket, you'll be hot and cool at the same time. Right?"
"That is totally wrong." the man sweat drops.
"Hot springs are hot and the tourists thinks it's cool." Misty said.
"That's right." the man said. "You see kids, because of the volcano, there are many hot springs here on Cinnabar Island and every year, more and more tourists comes. Now they even taken over the island that trainers don't come anymore." He fell onto his knees and stretches his arm out. "These tourists have ruined the island!"
"Is there a Pokémon Gym here?" Ash asks the man. "We have to win that Volcano Badge."
"I heard there's a guy name Blaine who's the Gym Leader of Cinnabar Island." Misty said.
"His Gym is where he put your glasses." the man said.
"Hm." Jovan began to think about it.
"That's not easy." Slade said.
"I got it. In front of your eyes." Anna smiled.
"You are right again." the man smiled. "Blaine's Gym is right over there." He points over to a destroyed building.
Everyone but the man gasps in shocked and they all walk up to the building.
"This is Blaine's Gym?" Seth looks at it. "What happened to it?"
"Blaine got tired of battling tourists who cared more about t-shirts and postcards than about Pokémon. That's when he abandoned the gym." the man explains.
"Well, all of us are not tourists here. We're real trainers who came all this way to Cinnabar Island for the Volcano Badge." Jovan said to him.
"Then you came to the wrong place." Blaine said to him. He takes out something from his pocket and shows it to Jovan. "Here's card if you need anything."
Jovan takes the card and his friends gathered around him. "The Big Riddle Inn." Jovan read the card.
"Why would you run a hotel and blame it on tourists?" Misty wondered. "That doesn't make any sense to me."
"He's gone." Slade said.
The others looked up and saw that the man was gone.
"How'd he do that without making a sound?" Slade wondered.
"You got me. But he is weird, that's for sure." Jovan shrugged his shoulders.
After leaving the Gym, it was already the afternoon.
"Since we can't go to the Gym, we might as well head to that Pokémon Laboratory you mentioned, Brock." Jovan said to him.
"It can't be that bad." Brock replied.
"I wouldn't say those words right now." Anna said as they all stop walking.
In front of the Pokémon Laboratory was a bunch of concession stands lined up across from each other.
"Look at all these souvenir stands." Jovan looks at the stands.
"Seems like the Pokémon Lab is just another tourist attraction." Slade folded his arms.
They all heard a couple of stomachs growling. That causes Ash and Jovan to be a little embarrassed and their faces blush a little.
"Whoops. All this disappointment is making me hungry." Ash said.
"Let's call it a day then. Shall we head to the Pokémon Center?" Anna suggested.
Everyone turns around and started heading to the Pokémon Center. They didn't notice they passed one concession stand that was selling cookies. Jessie and James were wearing a light blue jacket with a white t-shirt. Meowth was helping them cook Meowth cookies while Libby was grabbing ingredients from the back. Sam was out in front of the stand with samples while Justin came from outside. Justin was wearing a black uniform that has the "Manager" pin while Libby and Sam were wearing white cook uniforms.
"Not a single cookie has been sold." Jessie said.
"We're not making any money." Sam turns to her. "The lab is over there with some powerful Pokémon."
"That's how the cookie crumbles." Meowth replied.
"I'm very sorry. We got so many visitors that they started sleeping in the lobby." Nurse Joy apologizes to them. "It's the busy season. We simply don't have enough room."
When the trainers arrived at the Pokémon Center, the lobby was packed with other trainers. They left the Pokémon Center.
"It looks like we're the only Pokémon Trainers who has Pokémon when we entered the Pokémon Center." Slade said.
"Maybe we can sleep out in our sleeping bags." Misty suggested with her hands behind the back of head.
"We could try out that hotel over there." Jovan suggested as he spots a nearby hotel. "Looks like we could stay for the night."
But for every hotel they visited, it was completely booked with tourists.
"I'm so hungry, I could eat a Horsea." Ash complains.
"I'm not even hungry." Misty muttered. "I just want to go to bed."
It was nighttime right now. They were passing by another hotel.
"I think we should just camp out for tonight." Brock said.
"That smells good." Ash sniffing the scent of delicious food. He walks over to the hotel.
"Ash, hang on!" Anna exclaims. "We tried this hotel already! It's completely full!"
His friends walks up behind him. They could see a bunch of silhouettes eating.
"This isn't fair." Ash complained. "They're having a banquet in there." His stomach growls louder.
The door slides open to reveal Gary and Miles.
"Gary and Miles!" Jovan gasps.
"Well well. It's the sucker squad. What hotel are you staying at?" Miles smirks at them.
"We're camping out." Ash answered.
"Too bad you don't have a place like this. Take a look." Gary steps to the side to reveal his girls, the food and a Hitmonlee and a Electabuzz wearing a Japanese Komodo and both Pokémon have guitars.
Jovan's jaw dropped.
"This is all the food they give you and this is just the appetizers before the main course." Miles explains to them.
"I got an idea." Gary said with a sly smile. "I'll give you the leftovers in a doggy bag if you can spin around three times and say "Pikachu" and "Dragonair"!"
"As if!" Jovan shouted. "That's never gonna happen, you two!" But his stomach growled louder.
'You should let your stomach do the talking." Gary chuckled.
Jovan growls at him.
Pikachu spins around three times and was about to speak, but Ash stops him.
"No, Pikachu!" Ash picks up the electric mouse. "We'll never get so desperate to sink to their level." But his stomach growled.
"Ha ha ha!" Gary laughed. "Even your Pikachu feels sorry for you, Ashey boy. I never seen anyone so pathetic."
"Go look at yourself in a mirror, you two." Anna shot at them.
"Let's get out of here." Slade folds his arms across his chest.
The door slides open behind the guests.
"Looks like the entertainment has arrived." Miles turns around and notices a Jigglypuff.
"Tell me that's not who I think it is!" Jovan yells in surprise.
"Run for it!" Slade shouted as they turn around and started running away.
Togepi smiled and hops out of Misty's bag and started walking over to the room. Dragonair turns around and saw Togepi heading back. She turns around and wraps her tail around the baby Pokémon and flew after their friends. The Balloon Pokémon hops over to the small footstool and turns around to them as Hitmonlee and Electabuzz took their place.
"They don't even know what they're missing." Miles applauded.
Then Jigglypuff started to sing. Everyone in the room started to relax and began to fall asleep. The Balloon Pokémon stops singing halfway and notice everyone in the room was sleeping. "Puff!" It cries out in anger. Jigglypuff uncaps the marker and started drawing on everyone's faces.
Everyone stops running and found a bench. They were far from the town that was down the hill.
"That was a close one." Jovan panted as he was laying on the ground.
"At least those guys will be sleeping now." Misty said.
"Jovan, you still have the card we received from that strange man?" Seth asks him.
Jovan got up and pulls the card out of his pocket. "There should be some directions that should lead us to this inn." Jovan looks at the card.
"Hm." Seth took a closer look at the card. "If you look near the swing, you'll see my hands or at least my face."
"Not another riddle!" Ash groans.
Seth looks over his shoulder to see a swing set. "I see a swing set over here but no face and hands."
"You'll see my hands or at least my face." Misty repeated the words as she started thinking. "I got it. He means a clock."
"A clock?" Ash looks at her.
"Look up there." Misty pointed.
Everyone looks past the swing set and notices a inn further up the hill. There was a clock in front of the inn on the roof.
"You can see the hands and face of the clock." Misty said. "That must be the Big Riddle Inn."
Once they arrived and tells the man the answer to the riddle, he smiled. "And you are right again." the man beamed.
"That was an easy one." Misty smiled.
"As for your prize, I'll give you all free rooms here at the inn."
"Your riddles may be dumb, but your prizes are terrific." Ash complimented him.
"I guess I'll take that as a compliment, Ash." the man said.
Ash's stomach growled. He laughs sheepishly as they both stare at each other.
"Well, I guess you want dinner too." the man sweat drops.
"That's right." Jovan said.
At the Pokémon Laboratory, there was some Pokémon working out. Hitmonchan was punching the punching as Machoke was doing some crunches. Hitmonlee was running a treadmill, Machop was lifting two blue dumbells and Poliwhirl was in the pool.
Floating right above the Labatory was Team Rocket's Meowth Balloon.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
Justin slaps them behind their heads. "Yeah yeah yeah, we get it. Let's rob that Pokémon Lab."
"Bombs away!" Jessie called as they all started throwing bombs down below.
The phone started ringing and the man picks up the phone. "Thank you for calling the Big Riddle Inn. Be our guest and we'll keep you guessing."
Ash, Brock, Misty, Pikachu and Togepi was eating dinner at their table while their friends were sitting at their own table.
"This food is good." Jovan said after he swallows his rice. "I'm going to bed after this."
"We have to take a bath before we head to bed." Anna reminded him.
"And I thought you wanted to spend some alone with each other." July said with a sly smile.
"That's what Jovan said before dinner." Slade agreed with her.
"That's not what Anna meant!" Jovan's face turning red.
"That's awful!" the man's eyes widen.
Jovan looks at the owner. "Is everything ok?"
The man turns around to them. "There's a balloon attacking the Pokémon Lab right now." he informs them.
Jovan gasps in shocked.
All of the Pokémon in the lab were caught in a net. Team Rocket and Team Neo started pulling up the net in their basket. Everyone arrives outside of the Pokémon Lab to see the Pokémon being lifted into the air.
"Let's burst their bubble." Jovan said to Ash.
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!"
"Let's go, Pidgeotto!"
Both Pidgeotto were released outside of the spheres.
"Dragonair, fly up there with Pikachu and the Pidgeotto to bring back the stolen Pokémon." Jovan said to her.
"Pika!" Pikachu jumps onto Ash's Pidgeotto and flew up with the others.
All of them stops pulling and notices the Pokémon flying towards them.
"Oh no!" Libby yelled.
"This is a dream!" Sam yelled.
"It's not a dream because this real!" Justin cried out in panic.
Pikachu and Dragonair both release Thunderbolt, shocking the villains. They release the net and the stolen Pokémon lands on the rubble. The attack made a hole in the balloon and started flying away.
"Looks like Team Rocket and Team Neo is blasting of again!"
All of the Pokémon were crying out in thanks to them. The man turns around to them. "Thanks for saving the Pokémon, Ash and Jovan." the man thanks them. "You deserve a big reward and I'll let you on in a secret. Blaine built his gym where the tourists never see."
"He did?" Ash smiled.
"It's in the place where firefighters could never win."
Ash and Jovan fell flat on the ground.
"A riddle for a reward?" Jovan looks up at him.
The Pokémon Trainers heads back to the inn. There was a nice hot spring along the dirt path behind the inn. Ash, Brock, Seth, Slade and Pikachu were on the boys side. Misty, Togepi, July, Anna, Dragonair, Eevee and Vul were on the girls side. There was a wooden fence that went down right in the middle with a huge boulder. Ash and Brock were sitting next to each other as Pikachu was swimming by them. Seth and Slade were sitting at the huge boulder in the middle as Jovan was leaning against the fence.
Misty was sitting in the water leaning back against the rock while July had her feet in the water as Eevee was swimming in the hot springs. Dragonair was lying near the pool and Anna was leaning back against the fence and everyone had their own towels wrapped around them.
"Hm." Jovan said. "This is a tough one to figure out."
"It's where a fire fighter could never win." Brock repeated the words. "Where can that be?"
"Who knows." Slade shruggs his shoulders.
On the girls side, the girls were trying to think about the riddle.
"Where could a fire fighter go that could never win?" Misty wondered, lifting her head up. "Maybe someplace that doesn't have any water." While she was thinking, Misty stops thinking and notice Togepi wasn't in the water with her. She saw Togepi standing in front of a rock.
"What are you doing?" Misty stands up and follows Togepi's gaze to a small statue of Gyarados pumping out hot water into the spring. "Move away from there, Togepi. That water is boiling hot!"
July watch her friend walks over to the edge to pick up Togepi, but the baby Pokémon hops onto a couple stones and lands on top of the statue's head.
"Toge Pi!" Togepi chirps in joy, bouncing up and down on the statue.
But the statue began to move. Misty watches the statue being lowered. Then the big boulder in front of her began to move to the left to reveal a secret passage way, destroying half of the fence. She turns to her left to see Ash, Brock and Pikachu staring at July, Dragonair, Vul and Eevee and notice Anna looking at them while laying down on the fence.
Seth and Slade poke their heads from behind the rocks and froze in fear.
"AAHHH!" the humans screams in fear.
"What are you doing?!" Misty yells at them as Ash, Brock and Pikachu turns around as Seth and Slade hid behind the rocks.
"We didn't know!" Brock cried out as he and Ash hid behind the boulder.
"Where's Jovan?" Seth wondered.
Jovan pushes the fence off of him and stands up coughing. "What... was that about?!" Jovan cried out. He was rubbing his eyes and couldn't see where's he going. Jovan steps forward and fell until he felt a pair of hands presses against his shoulders. Then those hands pushed him backwards and fell back into the water.
When Jovan opens his eyes, he saw the fence was destroyed and saw Anna looking at him as her face was blushing.
"Don't look!"
"Sorry!"
"Can we go back inside and get our clothes on right now?!"
"Yeah!"
After that happened, the Pokémon Trainers got their clothes back on and entered the cave. There was lit candles on both side of the walls and a staircase.
"Man, it's hot in here." Anna fanning herself with her hand.
"There's a door down here." Jovan pointed at two big metal doors.
Ash grabs the handle and recoils in pain. "Yeowch! That's burning hot!"
The door open to reveal a big room. There was steam all over the room. A huge platform was suspended above the pool of hot boiling lava with four chains on each corner to hold the platform in place.
"This must be Blaine's Gym." Jovan said as they entered the room.
"No way a fire fighter could win in here." Seth said.
"There's not enough water to put out a volcano." Misty replied.
Then the lights turned on above the Gym.
"Looks like you solved my riddle."
Ash notices the same man from before across the battlefield. "What are you doing here?"
"It's not a hat, but it keeps your head dry, if you wear it, you already lost it." the man said.
"An umbrella?"
"That can keep you dry, but it would look silly for someone to wear it." Seth said.
Slade nodded.
"It's a wig." Anna answered.
"What do you mean?" Ash looks at her,
"A wig isn't a hat, but keeps your head dry in the rain, and the only reason to wear a wig if you lost all your hair."
"And Misty is correct with that answer." the man smiled. He takes off the wig, sunglasses and beard off to reveal a bald head with gray hair and black eyes.
"It's a wig!"
"Don't you get it?! I wear a wig because I blame the Gym Master!"
"I see that now." Slade sweat drops.
"Now who wants to battle me in a three-on-three Pokémon match for my Volcano Badge?"
"I will!" Ash takes a step forward.
"Be careful, Ash." Seth warns him. "He must've raised some strong Fire Type Pokémon right here in this volcano."
"You should use Water Type Pokémon." Misty suggested.
"Are you ready?"
"Fine! Ready when you are!"
"Alright then! I already decided on my first Pokémon! Go, Ninetails!" Blaine tosses the Poké Ball and Ninetails appeared.
"Nine!" she cried.
"Ninetales, the Fox Pokémon, is the evolved form of the Fire Pokémon Vulpix."
"That's a big mistake!" Ash smirked. "Squirtle, go!"
Squirtle was released from the sphere. "Squirtle Squirt!"
"A Water Type Pokémon, how predictable! Go Ninetails, Fire Spin now!" Blaine ordered.
"That's Ninetails powerful attack!" Slade exclaims.
Ninetails opens her mouth to release a stream of red-orange fire with a yellow flame towards Squirtle.
"Squirtle, use Water Gun!"
Squirtle fire his Water Gun at the Fire Spin. The two attacks collided and the fire evaporated the water. He shouts in a state of panic and hides in his shell as the attack hits him. The fire disappeared to leave Squirtle with a few injuries.
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaims.
"Squirtle!" Ash cries out as he runs up and kneels down to him. "Please Squirtle, you can't give up!"
"Squirtle..." he groans, coming out of his shell.
"Choosing a Pokémon is more than just the type. It takes wisdom to win a Gym Battle." Blaine informs him.
Ash recalls Squirtle to his Poké Ball and walks back to his friends. "Then I'll fight fire with fire." Ash said, taking out another Poké Ball. "I'm counting on you, so give it your best shot. "Charizard, I choose you!" He threw the sphere and Charizard appeared on the battlefield.
"Zard!"
"So you've chosen a Charizard. Return, Ninetails!" Blaine recalls his Ninetails back inside the sphere and taking out another Poké Ball. "Let's teach this kid a lesson, Rhydon! Go!"
The Poké Ball release a new Pokémon ono the battlefield. It is a large, gray, bipedal Pokémon with features similar to both dinosaurs and rhinoceroses. It has narrow, red eyes and two fangs in its upper jaw. On the tip of Rhydon's snout is a cream-colored horn. There are several other spikes and projections on its head: on top is a spike that curves forward, two triangular points resembling ears on the sides, a wide, wavy crest under each ear, and spiky ridges on each cheek. It has a cream-colored abdomen divided into strips by thin divots. A rocky plate on its chest slightly overlaps its abdomen. There is a row of spikes down its back and they have a long tail with thin, black stripes.
"What is that?" Jovan takes out his Poké Dex.
"Rhydon, the evolved form of Rhyhorn. It is known as the Drill Pokémon. Its large horn gives it formidable attack power."
"Groar." Charizard looks the other way.
"Huh?" Blanie looks confused.
"Zard." Charizard yawned.
"Please, Charizard. I'm begging you."
"Oh boy." Slade scratches the back of his head.
"This kid is way over his head." Blaine mutters to himself before raising his voice. "Rhydon, Horn Drill!"
The Drill Pokémon's horn started to spin rapidly. It charges at Charizard. Charizard flaps his wings and flew over to a spot away from the battle to take a nap.
"Give me a break, Charizard!" Ash groans.
"Charizard has left the battlefield. Rhydon's the winner!" Blaine declared.
"Oh man." Slade said.
Ash kneels down to Pikachu. "It's all up to you now, Pikachu." Ash said to him.
"Pika." Pikachu nodded.
"Your little Pikachu doesn't stand a chance against my Rhydon." Blaine folded his arms.
"Forget its size!" Ash exclaims. He recalls Charizard back into his Poké Ball as Pikachu hops over onto the battlefield. "Pikachu, max power!'
"Rhydon, Fury Attack!'
"Rhy!" it shouted, trying to stab the Electric Mouse with its horn. Pikachu dodges the attack quickly.
"Not bad." Blaine said as he was impressed.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu shouted, releasing his Thunderbolt on Rhydon. The electricity hits it the chest.
Rhydon just patted its chest.
"Electric attacks won't work, boy."
"Pikachu, the horn!" Ash calls out to him.
Pikachu notices the horn. "Pika!" Pikachu exclaims. Pikachu jumps up in the air and fires Thunderbolt to Rhyhorn's horn.
"Oh no!" Blaine cried out in shock.
"It worked!" Ash smiled.
"Good call on the horn, Ash." Slade smiled. "The horn acts like a lighting rod."
"That'll shock Rhyhorn." July joked.
Rhydon fell on its back, unable to move.
"Rhydon, return" Blaine called to it. Rhydon went back inside the Poké Ball as Pikachu landed on his feet. "Seems like I have to choose a different Pokémon."
"Pikachu can handle anything!" Ash called to him as Pikachu was panting.
"This Pokémon is too hot to handle. And it has a power that will interest you, because it turns all its opponents in ash." Blaine said.
"No fair! It's too hot to figure out riddles!" Ash cried out, rubbing his head.
"I choose Magmar!" Blaine called out his third Pokémon.
Then a wall of lava came up from below that surprised the trainers.
"Magmar?" Ash repeated. He notices a shadowy figure in the lava itself. Then a Pokémon appeared from the lava.
It was another bipedal Pokémon that has a red body with yellow flame designs along the bottom half. It has a puckered tan beak, small eyes, and two lumps on its forehead with a yellow flame on top of each one. Rigid, red scales cover its arms and it has five, clawed fingers on each hand. The shoulders and thighs are yellow, and its red feet have two, clawed toes each. It has black, metal shackles around its neck and ankles. Down its back is a row of red spikes, and there is a flame at the tip of its tapering, yellow tail.
"Magmar!"
"Whoa!" Slade cries out in alarm as his friends takes out their Poké Dex.
"Magmar, the Spitfire Pokémon. Its body is like a furnace, making Magmar a living inferno. It has been discovered only near active volcanoes."
"Magmar, Fire Punch now!"
Magmar's hands were covered in fire and started to punch Pikachu. But Pikachu was avoiding the attacks to not get burned.
"You're too quick for it, Pikachu!" Ash smiled.
But Magmar landed a punch on Pikachu's cheek to make it sizzle for a second. Pikachu lands on the ground.
"You can do it, Pikachu!" Ash encourages him.
Standing back up, Pikachu releases his Thunderbolt at the Spit Fire Pokémon. But Magmar flex its arm to cover itself in flames and the attack did nothing.
"Pika?!" Pikachu gasps in surprised.
"Hm." Blaine smirked.
"Magmar is using Air Lens." Brock said.
"Air Lens?" Jovan looks at him.
"Magmar heats the air around itself to a super high temperature and that refracts electric attacks." Brock explains.
"That's bad!" Jovan turns his attention back to the battlefield.
Magamar started using Fire Punch again, forcing Pikachu to dodge and backup to the edge. Pikachu looks down below and saw the lava.
"Pika!" Pikachu cried out.

"Magmar, Fire Blast!" Blaine ordered.

"That's a powerful attack for any Fire Type Pokemon, Ash!" Anna tells him.
"You have to forfeit this match, Ash, or Pikachu is toast!" Slade reasons the raven-haired trainer.
"No way. We can't give up now." Ash muttered. "I have to think of something."
"Magmar, go!" Blaine ordered.
"Magmar!" it cried out, after taking in a deep breath and releasing a powerful star shape bast of orange-red fire at Pikachu.
"Pikachu!" Ash yelled.

I'm glad this chapter turned out great along with working on the hot springs scene. I always find that scene very funny! And a little shocking that Pikachu defeated Rhydon, even if its a Ground Type.
