This is the 8th chapter. I don't own the series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Brother Bear Part 1
Few months have passed since Comet and Daylight helped the wolves leading the ice path to the caribou, and Aleu became the new leader of the wolf clan. Chieftess Tanana and Wild Heart were able to find them and have them stay in the village to stay warm since winter has come. But during their time of their stay at the village, they made friends with Sitka, Denahi, and Kenai who happened to be brothers.
Sitka is the eldest brother of the two, who raise and took care of his two younger brothers. He's the peacemaker and voice of reason among his brothers, never takes sides when Denahi and Kenai were fighting, but rather tries to find a middle ground that placates both parties. He's open-minded and sensitive, as he doesn't dismiss his brothers simply for being combative, but makes an effort to recognize their frustrations and desires. He's the leader and he had the totem: Eagle of Guidance.
Denahi is the middle of the two, younger brother of Sitka and older brother of Kenai. He's sometimes serious, but mostly prone to make jokes, with sardonic remarks, and always teasing Kenai. However, he'll defer to and obey Sitka, even if he's in the middle of mischief. He takes his duties seriously and works hard to produce good products and labor, which is the source of tension between him and Kenai. He had the totem: Wolf of Wisdom.
Kenai is the younger of the two brothers. Unlike the two, he's impulsive and hot-headed, and enjoys goofing around and shirking his work. He and Denahi have an especially teasing relationship, with both making fun of and playing pranks on the other. However, Kenai's more frivolous nature often annoys Denahi, especially when he ruins his brothers hard work.
Both Comet and Daylight were able to learn how to hunt, fish, tracking, and contribute to the tribe. Sitka was impressed of their fast learning and them being mature, despite the early age, but he continues teaching the two foals. Denahi appreciated the help from the since he's been trying to get Kenai to do his work, which annoys him the most, but they sometimes play pranks on him. Kenai is able to get along with the two foals, but mostly boast about himself having a totem that fits him which Denahi thought about the totem that has a mammoth.
They even told them about themselves, that they're use to be humans on Earth and struggling their own lives, which Comet told them about his death in New York and Daylight told them about her father's death and his last wish to reunite with her brother in Equestria. Sitka, Denahi, and Kenai felt bad for them, showing of their sympathy and relief that they're able to get a second chance.
The brothers told them about their home, and the source of the magic is the everchanging lights that dance across the sky. A shaman of their village told them that these lights are the spirits of their ancestors, and that they have the power to make changes in their world. Small things become big, winter turns to spring, and one thing changes to another. Chieftess Tanana is now collecting a rock and the spirits is turning it into a totem for the ceremony, where Kenai has come to an age.
My Little Pony, My Little Pony

Do you know all you're my best friends?
Now at the forest, Sitka, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight were waiting for Kenai to get back since the ceremony is starting soon and Chieftess Tanana is heading back to the village. However, Comet and Daylight were starting to feel homesick ever since they left the Crystal Empire to help Balto find Aleu and the wolves to the icy path to the caribou. Sitka and Denhai took notice as they glance each other with worry.
Both Comet and Daylight are wearing a parka, which the colt has the color of gray with white trims and the filly has the color of brown with white trims.
Sitka is the largest stallion, with a tall stature, large frame, and broad shoulders. He has bronze fur with black mane and tail pulled into a ponytail, a black beard on his chin, and black eyes. He wore a burgundy parka with white trims and a hood with deer antlers.
Denahi is the second largest stallion, several inches shorter than Sitka, and smaller build. He has bronze fur with black mane and tail with a single braid on one side, and black eyes. He wore a royal blue parka.
"Hey, are you two okay?" Sitka asks, earned their attention.
"I wish, it's just...we miss our family." Comet answered sadly.
"We should've never left home." Daylight adds.
"Comet, Daylight, no one blames you for doing what is right. We know you told us about the trials and the wolves." Denahi said, assuring them. "And I'm sure your family understands why you left."
"But when the ceremony is over, we'll ask Tanana to send you two home." Sitka adds with a smile.
Comet and Daylight gives them a smile, but the moment is ruined when Kenai ran up the hill with a heavy pant and a smile, running to them.
Kenai is somewhat small and rangiest of his brothers, several inches shorter than them with thinner shoulders and a slightly smaller build. His fur is bronze with black mane and tail, and black eyes. He wore an orange, resembling gold, parka with white trims.
"Get down!" Kenai shouts, which it got their attention in confusion. "Get down! Get down!"
But just as soon as Kenai ran down the kill, they saw a stampede full of caribou heading their way. Kenai kept running to his brothers and the two foals, who widen their eyes in horror when they saw a stampede heading that direction.
"Kenai!" Denahi called out as they quickly make shelter behind the kayaks and the stampede of caribou leaps over them.
Kenai couldn't help but laugh with a shout while the four were scared. One of the caribou hits Denahi from the back of his head, causing him to grunt in pain and held his head as all of the caribou are now running towards the falls. And after the scene was over, they panted heavily while Kenai had a few words to say.
"Never try to milk a caribou." Kenai said.
Furious, Denahi tackled his brother which Sitka, Comet, and Daylight just watch with a disappointed look on their faces. Denahi pins Kenai down to the ground as he starts drooling down.
"No, no, don't! Oh, come on! No! No! No! No!" Kenai said, tried to pull away when the drool slowly flows down, but only for Sitka to grab hold of his brothers.
"Hey! Will you two knock it off!" Sitka said sternly.
"You scared us half to death, Kenai!" Comet scolds.
"And once Aleu finds out about what you did, you're in big trouble!" Daylight adds sternly, which Sitka and Denahi are aware of the new leader of the wolf clan.
"That's okay, I can take her." Keani said which they doubt it, but he turns to Denahi with a glare. "And after that, he won't treat me like that anymore."
"Oh, right, the big stallion ceremony." Denahi remarks with a teasing smirk, then turns to his younger brother. "Doesn't matter what the spirits say, you'll always be our baby brother."
"Oh yeah? Well, what until I get my totem!" Kenai retorted.
"Baby brother." Denahi teases and the fight between him and Kenai is on, but only for Sitka to slam their heads.
"Hey! I said knock it off!" Sitka warned his brothers. "Now, the quicker we get these fish, the faster we get to your ceremony. So, let's all just get along for a few hours. Okay, Denahi?"
"Whatever you say." Denahi replied quickly, not wanting to get on Sitka's bad side.
"Okay, Kena-"
It got Sitka, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight noticed that Kenai somehow slipped away from his grip and got into the canoe.
"So, what are we waiting for?" Kenai called them with a smirk.
(Great Spirits-by Tina Turner)
Sitka, Comet, and Daylight just smiled while Denahi tries to pull himself from his grasp. He just let Denahi go, making him stumble to the ground as they grab hold of their kayaks, and run to the river with a laugh. They gave a loud shout and sailed away.
The scene changes to the view of the mountains, where the mammoths roam and birds flying in the sky, to Chieftess Tanana making her journey back to the village. At the falls, the two bighorn sheep's were leaping up the mountains and watching Sitka and the other rowing away at the river, to the ice caverns, and then one by one, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight were leaping down from rock to rock at the falls. They called Kenai to jump down, which he jumps down next to them, but missed a step and about to fall when Sitka grabs hold of his brother, pulls him next to them as they laughed with their hooves pumping in the air.
At the mountain, they slide their kayaks down the snow and ice with a laugh as they slid up to the river. While at the mountain hills, Chieftess Tanana pets the buffalo and then continues her way to the village.
Sitka tosses the side of the makeshift net to Denahi, who caught it as they slowly dipped it down to the river, rises up and caught the fish. But, it's destroyed and causes both Sitka and Denahi to stumble when Kenai is riding on a mammoth, who's responsible for letting the fish get away by swiping the net with its trunk. They turned to Kenai with worry, but apparently, Kenai is enjoying himself with a laugh, much to Denahi, Comet, and Daylight's annoyance and Sitka smiles with a relief. Though, his ride is over when he got hit in the head and knocked off of the mammoth by a tree branch.
Soon as they're able to get as many fish in the basket, they are now making their way to the village to contribute to the tribe, but the pad of orcas were swimming ahead and some were following them. Kenai smirks as he swipes the water right at Denahi's head, which it got him turning his head with a glare. He whistles innocently, but the orca splashes the water with its tail, causing the kayak and Keani to flip over into the water. Kenai then notices the orca swimming towards him, causing him to panic when Sitka and Denahi flips the kayak, laughing at his mane all wet and messy. Comet and Daylight couldn't help but laugh at him as they, Sitka, Denahi, and Kenai, who straighten his mane, continue to row to the village.
At the mountainside of the village, the tribe were preparing the ceremony by painting the wall that has the animals and the mountain where the lights touch the earth and building a makeshift totem pole. The children were playing the red paint, and the tribe are gathering wood while the filly and the mare nuzzled each other.
Sitka, Denahi, Kenai, Comet, and Daylight made it to shore, with the bag of fish and about to head out when the group of kids were gathered around with the basket which it got his attention. They head to a different location to place the fish to the basket to contribute to the tribe.
"Kenai! Kenai! Kenai, are you excited about getting your spirit rock today?"
"It's not a rock, it'll be my totem." Kenai corrects her with a chuckle while placing the fish into the basket as the kids 'oohed', then he tosses the rope to the branch, ties the basket, and pulling. "Yeah, I'll probably get like a sabretooth tiger for Bravery, or Strength, or Greatness. You know, something that fits me."
"How about a mammoth for your Fathead." Denahi remarked, much to Kenai's annoyance and the children laughed. "So, make sure you get that basket tied up."
"Don't worry! No stupid bears get anywhere near this fish." Kenai retorted.
"Just tie it up." Denahi said seriously, yet sternly.
"'Just tie it up.'" Kenai mocks, sticks his tongue out while pulling the basket of fish as word was heard about Chieftess Tanana has returned.
"Come on!" Sitka said as he, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight ran while the children catches up, and Kenai is left behind, tried to tie the rope around the tree in a hurry.
"Come on, Kenai! Let's go!"
"Tanana has got your rock! Come on!"
But once Kenai ties the rope, he ran to catch up, but he didn't tie it up probably and the basket tumbles down to the ground along with the fish. Kenai turned his head and noticed that he didn't do it right, thought about trying to tie it back up, but didn't have time as he leaves it and ran to the mountain.
The ceremony began as the drums were played and the tribal stallions were dancing while wearing different animal pelts to represent the animal spirits. The filly ran off, notices Chieftess Tanana approaching with the torch in her hoof while her tribe were gathered as she throws the torch at the makeshift totem, burning it and the tribe cheered as they pray to their ancestors.
(Music Ends)
But the prayer is interrupted when the filly interjected.
"Tanana!"
It got her attention when she notices the filly greeting her with an excited smile.
"Well, hello there, sweetheart. What a big girl." Chieftess Tanana said with a warm smile, lifts her up and nuzzles her, then she turns to her tribe while holding her over her shoulders. "When each of us comes to age, the Great Spirits reveal to us. A totem that helps guide us though our lives. Some of us use 'Courage' to guide us."
The male stallion crossed his fore-hooves with a smile on his face.
"Others, 'Patience'." Chieftess Tanana continues as she places a filly down to her mother. "And some of us, 'Beauty."
She and her tribe couldn't help but laugh a little, then turns to Kenai, who's ready for the totem.
"Kenai." Chieftess Tanana called him as he quickly approached her and down to his knees with an excited smile, then she paints his cheeks and the bridge of his nose. "You nervous?"
"Excited." Kenai answered as she giggled.
"You should be, it's a good one." Chieftess Tanana told him. "Kenai, I have been to the Mountain Where The Lights Touch The Earth, and the Great Spirits have revealed to me your totem. To become a stallion, your actions must be guided one thing. Your totem is..."
She then pulls out a totem that's being wrapping in a cloth, unwarps it and reveals a totem that's something he hadn't had in mind.
"...Love." Chieftess Tanana said, revealing a bear totem.
"What?" Kenai asks, confused.
"Yes, love." Chieftess Tanana answered, placing the totem around his neck.
"The Bear of Love?" Kenai said, looking at his totem.
"A love that connects and unites all living things..."
"Who wants to trade?" Kenai offers hesitantly, turns and saw Sitka, Comet, and Daylight shrugs and Denahi snickered, but Chieftess Tanana pulls him close to her.
"There is no trading!" Chieftess Tanana scolds him, then bonks him on the head. "Kenai, love is the most precious of totems. It reveals itself in unexpected ways. Let love guide your actions, and one day, you'll be a stallion. And we'll place your mark next to those of our ancestors."
She then leads Keani to the wall of a mountain that has red hoof marks, that shows of their ancestors. She raises Kenai's fore-hoof to show his hoof as the tribe cheers, then she hugs him which he felt a bit worried about the totem, and had a feeling that Denahi would make fun of him.
After the ceremony is over, Kenai heads back to the village to clear his head after wiping the paint out of his face since he's not in a mood for his antics. However, his mind is interrupted by a certain brother of his.
"There he is!" The voice of Denahi said, causing Kenai to groan, but he grabs him and give him a noogie. "Come here, lover boy!"
"Leave me alone!" Kenai remarked, shoves him away and walks away.
"Kenai, wait!" Denahi called him which his brother stops. "I'm sorry."
"What?" Kenai said surprisingly, turning to his brother.
"Your totem, I think it's really great." Denahi told him.
"You do?" Kenai asks.
"Yeah, and I made you something." Denahi answered, pulled something from his parka.
"Really?" Kenai asks with a smile when Denahi throws a wreath of flowers on his head, groaned.
"Now, when you skip around, loving everybody, you'll smell so sweet." Denahi teases him with a laugh, causing Kenai to shove the wreath of flowers at him.
"Well, isn't this nice. Instead of fighting, you're giving each other flowers." Sitka said with a smile as he, Comet, and Daylight approached them.
"Yeah, isn't lovely? He's so in touch with his totem already." Denahi teases him again, throws the flowers around his brother when Kenai elbowed him with a grunt.
"Hey, dog breath, go take care of the fish." Sitka ordered, points the direction where Kenai placed it.
"Sure." Denahi replied, then throws one more playful jab by throwing flowers around him and repeatedly said, 'Kenai loves me, he loves me not'.
But soon as Denahi left, Kenai had enough and was about to throw a rock at him.
"Kenai." Sitka warns him, stops Kenai.
"Let it go, it's not worth it." Comet adds.
"Someday, I gonna just...would, ugh...he's just such a-"
"Hey, bonehead." Sitka cuts him off with a chuckle, smacks Kenai in the back of his head. "Just because his totem is 'Wisdom', doesn't mean he's wise. I mean look at him."
To prove his point, Sitka, Kenai, Comet, and Daylight watches Denahi continuing throwing flowers and goofing around instead of getting the fish while not paying attention his surroundings. The wolf woke up when Denahi accidentally steps its tail, causing it to bark and him back away quickly when the mares greeted him. Denahi greets back with a bashful look, but the wolf bites him from behind, causing him to yell in pain while they winces and laughs.
"Yeah, I guess the spirits messed up on both of our totems." Kenai states with amused smirk, watching Denahi getting a taste of karma.
"You know, I felt the same way when Tanana gave me mine." Sitka said, throws a pebble.
"What?" Comet and Daylight said, surprised.
"Get outta here." Kenai said with a smirk, playfully jabs his shoulder.
"No, really. I said, 'The Eagle of Guidance? What does that mean?'." Sitka told them, showing them the eagle totem. "Well now that I'm older, I know it's about being a leader, and keeping an eye on you four."
They let out a chuckle when Sitka gave Kenai a noogie. Kenai pulls himself away with a smile, but his expression turns into sad.
"I just wanna get my hoof print on that wall." Kenai said with a sigh.
"Just be patient, Kenai." Sitka suggested. "When you live by your totem, you will."
"Really?" Kenai asks with a smile.
"Guarantee it." Sitka answered as they grab each other's hooves respectfully, but he had something to tell him. "But Kenai, after I told Tanana about them getting them home, she accepts it."
"What?" Kenai said. "Why?"
"Comet and Daylight had families and a home to go, since they help the wolves and pass the trials." Sitka explains. "And it's the right thing that we should get them home."
Kenai turns to Comet and Daylight, who really wanted to go home since they've been in the village for months and they really miss their family which it's understandable. He then turned back to his brother.
"When do we leave?" Kenai asks.
"Tomorrow morning. I'll let Denahi know." Sitka answered as Kenai nods with an understanding.
"But come on, the Bear of Love?" Kenai said, looking at his totem as they decided to catch up to Denahi. "I mean, a bear doesn't love anyone. They don't think, they don't feel, I mean they're..."
Before he could finish his sentence, they look at the trail of fish being scattered around and bear prints which they and the tribe were shocked at this.
"The fish!" Kenai exclaims.
"You didn't tie it up, did you?" Denahi asks accusingly, showing the rope while the tribe looked at Kenai, who nervously chuckles, angrily. "You should've got the Totem of Pinhead."
"Knock it off!" Sitka said sternly. "We'll just make another basket."
"'We'? Oh no! No, it takes me two weeks to make that basket!" Denahi complains. "You get Loverboy to do it, he's the one that's messing up all the time! Typical Kenai!"
"Alright! I'll go and get your basket." Kenai said angrily, finally had enough of his complaint, grabbing the stone spear and left.
"Kenai, wait! Kenai!" Sitka protests, being ignored as he, Comet, and Daylight glares at Denahi with disappointment.
"What?" Denahi asks cluelessly as Sitka shook his head.
"That was really mature of you, Denahi." Daylight said sternly.
"What did I do?" Denahi asks. "Kenai was the one who mess things up!"
"Maybe so, but that doesn't give you the right to act like a jerk!" Comet retorted. "And what makes you any different since you too mess things up!"
Denahi was about to argue, but doesn't have the words since they're right about it.
"We better get moving and stop Kenai for doing anything reckless." Sitka suggests as they began to depart to find Kenai.
At the mountains, Kenai continues to look for the basket while climbing up on top and see the basket is ruined and the fish were being eaten. He tosses the pieces of a basket away and kicks it in frustration, about to head back when he heard a sound as he turns and saw a bear from the distance. Kenai grabs a piece of rock and throws it next to the bear, which it got the attention.
"Kenai!" The voice of Sitka called.
Kenai throws another rock at the bear, making her angry as she roars.
"Kenai!" Sitka shouts as he, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight continued searching for him. "Where'd he go?"
"If we're lucky, far away." Denahi remarked which Sitka groans in disappointment while Comet and Daylight gives him 'are you serious?' look when they heard a scream that was coming from Kenai being knocked down to the cliff. "Kenai!"
With that, they climb up the mountain while Kenai tries to stand with a heavy pant and wide eyes.
"Kenai!" Sitka called him, earned his attention as he tries to reach him.
"Sitka, no! Y-Y-You've got to get outta here!" Kenai warns him, much to his confusion. "The bear! Behind you!"
Sitka turns and saw a bear on her hindlegs, roaring at him and about to attack when Denahi throws a rock at her while Comet and Daylight fires their magic at the bear.
"Hey, bear! Come here! Over here!" Denahi shouts, throws another rock and then back away. "Come on, bear! Come this way!"
While Denahi leads the bear away from his brother, Kenai starts climbing up and Sitka pulls him up. Then they ran after the bear, who swipes Denahi and sent him flying to the icy ground which causes to crack and he holds his spear to prevent himself from falling. Daylight uses her magic to levitate Denahi to the ground while Sitka keeps the bear busy.
"Thanks." Denahi said with a pant.
Daylight nods as she, Comet, Kenai, and Denahi were about to help Sitka, who got knocked out by the bear. The bear charges after them which causes Kenai and Denahi to protect the foals, and Sitka can see that his brothers, Comet, and Daylight won't be able to get to him in time and the bear will kill them. He looks down and noticed the cracks from the glacier, with every effort, he stabs the ice with his spear and breaks it apart, causing the ice to cracks and breaks it apart. The bear stops in panic and Kenai, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight look towards Sitka in dread.
"Sitka?" Kenai said. "Sitka!"
Sitka looks at his brothers and the foals one last time before the ice falls, taking him and the bear with it into the water. Keani, Denahi, Comet, and Daylight looks down at the edge of the glacier, hoping Sitka survives.
"Sitka?" Denahi said, looking for his brother.
Only to see the bear merges out of the water and swim to the land, shaking the water from her fur and roars while fleeing. Denahi, Kenai, Comet, and Daylight went down into the river to look for Sitka, but only they see what was left of the spear. They split to find him, but unfortunately, Denahi found something.
"Kenai! Comet! Daylight!" Denahi called them, earned their attention when they only saw Sitka's hood.
Kenai felt disheartened, couldn't believe that his brother is dead, but doesn't give up searching for him and calling out his name. Denahi, Comet, and Daylight looks at Sitka's hood, halting the search with a sad heavy heart.
Later that night, the tribe held a funeral for the death of Sitka as both Kenai and Denahi slowly walking to Chieftess Tanana, holding the broken spear, a hood, and the Eagle Totem. Chieftess Tanana spreads the dirt around it and placing the items that was recovered at the ceremonial pyre, burning them and Sitka's spirit is ascended to the heavens. Kenai broils in rage and departs early while Denahi remained behind to mourn the loss of his brother. Both Comet and Daylight are taken inside of the tent to rest, but neither of can since they're still in great sorrow.
Kenai soon returned to the funeral pyre with the spears on his back.
"You ready?" Kenai asks, earned his attention.
"For what?" Denahi counters with a question.
"For going after the bear." Kenai answers, tosses the spear to his brother which he caught it.
"I know what you're feeling, but...but killing that bear is wrong." Denahi refuse, tossing the spear aside.
"Wrong? Our brother is dead and it's because of that monster!" Kenai snapped, accusing the bear.
"I don't blame the bear, Kenai!" Denahi responds coldly, making Kenai shocked in disbelief.
"I see." Kenai scoffs.
"Killing that bear won't make you a stallion." Denahi points out, tried to grab the spear.
"Oh, now you're trying to be wise!" Kenai snapped, pushes him away.
"I'm trying to follow my totem!" Denahi snapped back. "Why can't you do the same?!"
"But you really think 'Love' has anything to do with being a stallion?! A stallion won't just sit here and do nothing!" Kenai said angrily, about to leave.
"Kenai!" Denahi called him, earned his attention. "Don't upset the spirits!"
"Spirits...Thanks for your wisdom." Kenai scoffs, but Chieftess Tanana wanted him to stop and not try anything foolish, but he takes the totem off of his neck and tosses it to the pile of embers as he leaves.
Chieftess Tanana grabs the Bear Totem with a sad look, and Denahi knows that Kenai is about to get himself killed because of his blind rage and revenge.
"I've gotta stop him." Denahi said quietly as he grabs the bear totem and the spear, leaves village to stop his brother, leaving her alone as she looks at the night sky.
"You left too soon, Sitka. Your brothers need your guidance." Chieftess Tanana said as the spirits knows what it has to be done.
Later that morning, Kenai kept on tracking the bear at the river, where Sitka made a sacrifice to save his brothers, Comet, and Daylight from the bear. Kenai kept tracking, running through the forest, then the falls, and the trail leads him to the berry thicket as he searches the bear. He then looks down, only to see the trail of the bear prints end when he heard the leaves rustling as he quickly ducks down. Kenai slowly exhales since he's ready to fight and slowly looks up, but only to see a chipmuck as he scares it away.
Kenai decided to take a short break from tracking since he didn't get anything to eat, about to eat a berry when he heard the bear from behind as he quickly hides into the bushes. He glances over his spear, about to grab it, but stops himself because the bear sniffs the air and caught his scent as she stands in her hindlegs and roars. Kenai pants heavily, letting out a war cry while grabbing his spear by leaping and lands on the ground.
He turns and saw the bear fleeing, pursing after her to the mountains. The bear ran through the falls, kept on running while Kenai catches up to her, but the bear has reached a dead end. Kenai heard that sound as he follows the source, but only to see a dead end and no sign of a bear. He quickly turns and saw the bear at the cliff as he begins climbing up at the mountain, trying to catch up to her, which the bear stops herself at the edge of the ridge while Kenai leaps to the top, getting ready for a fight.
Denahi stops himself when he saw his brothers hoofprint, knows that he really is after the bear as he ran.
Both Kenai and the bear begins circling each other, but the bear stands on its hindlegs. He gasps, felt intimidated, but didn't falter as he charges and thrust his spear, which the bear got hold it and swings him around, sent him flying and crashed into the ground. The bear is about to kill him, but Kenai was able to prevent that from happen by holding his spear and make her bite it instead, overpowered and sent down to the ground again. Denahi turns and saw his brother having trouble fighting against the bear.
"Kenai!" Denahi said with a worry, slides down while try to find a way to get to him.
Back in the fight, Kenai is struggling and the bear kept holding the spear with its teeth. He decided to let go of the spear and slips way, running and the bear pursues after him as he climbs up to the top of the rock. The bear stands up as she pushes the rock with her maul, making Kenai stumble a bit while realizing the bear is trying to push him down to the river which it's way long down and it'll kill him. Kenai jumps over the bear and lands on the ground, sprints to the spear and the bear chases after him, but soon as he quickly grabs the spear in panic, he fatally impales the bear as she roars.
The sound of the roar is loud enough for Denahi to hear which got him worried if Kenai is either killed or he kill the bear as he ran. Kenai crawls out of the dead bear, pulling the spear out as he began to realize his mistake, letting out an anguished cry which is heard by his brother, who's running while try to find a way to get to them. But soon as Kenai recovers from the fight, the Great Spirits foresaw what has happened, descends into the mountain which Kenai was confused as he looks up, quickly grabs a spear to run and the spirits pours the water down to the mountain, which Denahi heard a loud thundering sound that was coming from that direction.
Kenai slowly went into the water and walk towards it, with his spear ready as he gently pokes it, causing the lights to surround him and the animals spirits were revealed. Then, the eagle spirit flies to Kenai, materializing the spirit of Sitka, which made Kenai shocked.
"Sitka?" Kenai said.
Sitka could only respond in silent with disappointment look on his face, disappointed of his brother for seeking senseless revenge rather than understanding. He glances over at the recent deceased bear, which is swept away and joined the spirits. But as punishment, Sitka turns himself into an eagle as he grabs Kenai by the shoulders and flew up in the air, transforming him into a bear and slowly descending him down to the ground and the Great Spirits vanished.
After the transformation, a storm forms overhead. Denahi finally made to the top of the summit and saw a bear, which he doesn't realize that it was his brother. However, he glances and saw what was left of his brother's parka which made him widen his eyes in disbelief and horror.
"No!" Denahi said.
Kenai turns around and saw Denahi, but his vision went blurry and thunder strikes, causing him to fall down and down into the river. Kenai was struggling to swim because of the strong current, knocked out unconscious and swept down into the falls until he washes into ashore.
While at the top of the summit, Denahi felt devastated for not only losing Sitka, but he lost Kenai by the hands of a bear. He began to remember what his brother told him.
'I couldn't blame the bear, Kenai!'
'A stallion wouldn't just sit here and do nothing!'
These words have echoed on his mind, as he grabs Kenai's totem, wrapped it around the spear, and swore to avenge his brother's death by hunting the bear.
That's it for the 8th chapter.
