After a bit of discussing among the little group it was agreed upon that Dracula, Frank, Wayne, Griffin, and Murray would accompany Johnny to the Monster Festival and introduce themselves to the humans and see how they would react. The monsters hoped that the humans would be friendly and inviting and not be fearful and want to form a angry mob to hunt them. They had past experience with angry mobs, but it had been quite a long time since any of the monsters had to deal with one. The monsters could still remember those days and hoped they weren't too rusty to deal with a situation like that.

Dracula then took Johnny to show him something important and personal. He lead the human to a chamber close to his room and they went in together.

"So what's this room?" Asked Johnny looking at the room curiously.

"I guess you can call it my study." Said Dracula.

Johnny took notice of a portrait on the wall that was half obscured by a red curtain. The half Johnny could see showed a beautiful smiling woman in a black dress.

"Wow! I know her! I've seen that picture at the ruins of Lubov. That's my favorite castle. There's a whole legend around that lady." Said Johnny.

"A legend?" Asked Dracula.

"The Lady Lubov. The story is that a lonely count met her by chance, and they say that no two souls were ever more meant for each other. Eventually, they settled down at Castle Lubov and had a child. But then, a horrible tragedy happened. A fire started mysteriously one night, and it killed both of them. When I was at the castle, I could still feel their powerful love. They say it's as if a soul is still trapped in the ruins themselves." Said Johnny.

"The legend is wrong. It was only the wife that died." Said Dracula as he pulled the curtain.

Johnny let out a gasp as he saw the woman was standing alongside a smiling Dracula.

"Oh." Said Johnny as everyone began to fall into place.

"And it was no mystery who killed her. It was humans! Full of fear and hatred! They killed my first wife after Mavis was born and then they almost killed Emily by chasing her off a cliff!" Said Dracula his voice a mix of anger and sadness.

"Drac...I'm so sorry. That should have never happened. I don't want you or any monster to have to go through that and hopefully things will work out with the Monster Festival." Said Johnny.

"Thank you Johnny. I really want this to work. I don't want Mavis, Emily, Victor, Victoria, or any of my friends and fellow monsters to live their lives in fear and be forced to live in the shadows. I just want peace and for everyone to be safe and happy." Said Dracula.

"And it will work. Things have changed over the years. People are more open minded and once they see how cool and nice you all are, I'm sure humans will want to live in peace with monsters." Said Johnny.

"Well you're optimism is rubbing off on me." Said Dracula with a small smile.

"Yeah positive thinking! We're going to change the world!" Said Johnny excitedly.

Elsewhere Mavis was in her room with Victor and Victoria trying to process her emotions about Johnny and the fact he was a human. Mavis then spotted the present from her late mother and decided she wanted to open it early and hopefully get the Johnny bit off of her mind. It was meant for her birthday, but Mavis decided to open it early. It was a book titled 'True Love by Mom'. It was a book written by Martha complete with hand drawn pictures. Mavis carefully opened it up and began to read it aloud to her siblings.

"Two lonely bats crashed in the night. They felt a Zing. Love at first sight. They knew right then they would be husband and wife. For a Zing only happens once in your life.

Your Zing will come, my love.

Cherish it.

Love, Mommy."

Mavis stared at the message in awe. It was like Martha was there giving her daughter love advice, when she needed it. Mavis did love Johnny and he loved her back. It didn't matter that Mavis was a monster or that Johnny was a human. They loved each other. Mavis smiled as she wiped a tear from her eye. She hugged her siblings and then left the room to go looking for Johnny.

To be continued.
