The man was starting to get impatient. He had been here all day waiting for that agent to come out. It was now dark outside. He was thinking he might need to rethink his plan, when the agent finally stepped outside the hospital doors. "Yes." With a grin spreading across his face the man grabbed the door handle only to stop. "What is he doin?" The agent hadn't moved from the front doors, he just stood there. Eventually the agent started to make his way across the parkinglot. The man slowly got out of the car, making sure the door didn't shut, so no sound was heard. Creeping his was toward the agent, the man stayed in the shadows. Stopping just as suddenly when the agent did. "Nows what." He whispered to himself then watched the agent turn and head back towards the hospital. "Oh no's you's don't! This ends tonight!" Still creeping in the shadows, but this time faster, he slowly caught up to his target.

Gibbs didn't need to see the security guard that was still inside, start to run for the door while reaching for his gun, to know someone was behind him. Just as he started to reach for his gun and turn around, he heard a yell, "Get down!" Knowing the voice, Gibbs dropped just as a shot was fired. He felt the bullet whip past his head. Looking up he saw Goldlin with a gun in his hand.

"You's die nows. Then them's snot-nosed brats!" Goldlin yelled at Gibbs who was lying on his back facing him.

"Drop the gun Goldlin. You're surrounded." Gibbs said as he raised his gun. He sensed the security guard come up behind him, and saw Agents Vince and Davis come up behind Goldlin, on either side of him. But Goldlin didn't even twitch.

"I's don' care! You's dead!" He yelled as he pulled the trigger.

Inside the hospital Doubs was having trouble of his own. The two little boys did not stay asleep like he was lead to believe they would. He was an only child, had no cousins that he was close to growing up, and was not married. So he had no idea how to deal with two crying toddlers.

"GIB!"

"WANT GIBBS!"

Nothing he said was helping to calm the boys. Sticking his head out the door he begged for help. "You either need to call Gibbs back or get one of the nurses."

Agent Smith saw Reed coming back down the hall and said, "Reed, go and get one of the kids nurses." Waving in response, Reed turned back towards the nurses station. "Doubs you stay here, I'll go in and see if I can calm them down." Smith said.

"Oh thank you." Doubs said.

Shaking his head, Clark admonished, "I know you got some learning to do yet kid, but knowing how to handle upset children, whether at a crime scene or not, is something you better learn how to deal with, soon."

"Yes Sir." Doubs replied, as Nurse Jenna came down the hall.

"Everything alright?" She asked.

"The boys woke up and realized Agent Gibbs wasn't back yet. I couldn't get them to calm down." Doubs told her.

"No worries." As she opened the door the could tell the boys were still crying, but no longer screaming for Gibbs.

Walking into the room Jenna sternly said, "Okay you two. That's enough." She went over to Timmy's bed and looked at his vitals. "Timmy I need you to calm down, or I'm going to have to call Doctor Michaels."

"No."

"Then breathe with me, slowly."

"No. Gibb."

"I know you don't understand, but Timmy you need to slow your breathing down. Or you're going to hurt yourself." She looked at his vitals with concern.

By now Tony had calmed down and realized something might be wrong with his brother. "Timmy 'k Jenna?"

"He will be if he calms down." Jenna said as she walked over to Tony's bed, picked him up, and placed him next to Timmy. Tony immediately wrapped his arms around his brother. Tim calmed down considerably with Tony next to him. "Okay, now. I know you want Gibbs, but you can't throw a fit every time he leaves the room. Understand?"

Tony let out a huff and sulkily replied, "Yes Jenna." Tim just nodded his head.

"Alright then. Tony you can sleep on Timmy's bed, but no more tantrums. I don't want to have to call Doctor Michaels up here." She pointed a finger at them before she left.

Not happy, but knowing they weren't going to get what they wanted at the moment, the brothers laid down, curling into each other, but didn't fall asleep.

Gibbs twisted to the side as he heard the gun go off, and let out two rounds of his own. Pain ripped through the top of his left arm. He heard three other guns going off at the same time. All was still and silent for a moment, until Goldlin dropped. Gibbs jerked his legs out of the way as the man fell. He could see Goldlin was dead before he hit the ground. Instinctually he pushed the gun away and took Goldlin's pulse. With a heavy sigh Gibbs stated, "He's dead."

"Good riddance." Vince muttered.

"And just what are you two still doing here? I thought you left half an hour ago?" Gibbs asked, wincing as he held his left arm and stood up.

The two agents glanced at each other before Vince replied, "Well, we had a feeling something was off. So we were going to stay for an hour or so, and if we didn't see anything we'd go home. Now I'm glad we stayed."

Gibbs smirked, "Me too. Thanks." Then he turning to the security guard, "Thank to you too.."

"Officer Wyane, Sir. Are you okay sir? We should get you inside."

"Don't call me sir." Gibbs said as other security guards and hospital personnel gathered around.

"Vince call Franks.." Gibbs started to say.

"Gibbs we got this, you go get that arm stitched up and get back to those kiddos."

Gibbs just nodded his thanks as he headed back towards the hospital.

After tracking down Doctor Shawn and getting his arm stitched up, he made is way back to the brothers. Telling the agents outside the door that Goldlin was dead, but to keep up the watch until Franks called it off, he opened the door.

'It's finally over.' He thought. Then he saw the boys. The two brothers curled up together. As one set of blue/green eyes and another set of light green eyes blink open and pure joy came across their faces, Gibbs realized, 'It's not over. It's just beginning. And I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.'

A/N: Well here you go! Thanks to all that read and left comments. Maybe someday I'll write a continuation of the boys living with Gibbs. But that won't be anytime soon. So for now use your imagination :)
