So here I feel it is important to have all the Boxers together particularly for the parts involving Great Tiger and also where I get into the connections between Dana and Stripes how they are very similar in that they were created to fulfill a purpose and left because she felt the proper way to fulfill her purpose wasn't the way the 'Higher-Ups' were telling her to do so
So the next day after class with Leonardo, Stripes took Bacon Bit to the WVBA Gym.
All the boxers along with Dana were there. They weren't expecting to also see the Mutant Tigress along with Mutant Bacon Bit!
"Um...Hi…" Bacon Bit said bashfully "...I...Um...Kind of told Stripes about the meeting."
"Before you say anything…" Stripes said quickly as she didn't want the Mutant Piglet to get in trouble "...I wanted to at the very least just walk her to the gym as I think it isn't safe for a ten year old piglet to walk from Forest to Manhattan all by herself!"
Bear Hugger turned to the other boxers "She's got a point." He said
"Also…" Stripes said "...I'm sorry about the tantrum I threw yesterday, but I really want to hear the story too...I'm not sensitive like some of the other students, as I had been trained to be a nurse I want to hear a story about what happened during the Mutant Riots because I want to learn what to do during such emergencies…"
Dana looked at Glass Joe and then she walked over to Stripes, she had a sense the Mutant Tigress was similar to her, they were both Mutants who had been created to fulfill a certain purpose of serving humans (Albeit in different ways) and their programming was like a very strong drive.
Taking the Tiger's hands in her own, Dana said "I sense you are like me…" The Mutant Doberman said "...We were both created to serve humans, and I sense you have a very similar story to mine...If we aren't exactly sisters, then we are at least cousins."
So everyone agreed that they should let Stripes join in the storytelling, Great Tiger in particular looked pleased the Tigress was joining them that wasn't surprising given his tiger theme and some recalled him mentioning he even had a pet tiger in his youth in his native India…
"All right…" Von Kaiser said "...So after we killed the Mutant Anaconda we realized he had insufficient ammo...So we went back to the docks…"
FLASHBACK
So as they returned to the docks the other hunters felt pretty pleased with themselves, but Von Kaiser, Piston Hondo and Soda Popinski all had an uneasy feeling they couldn't shake, they had all seen the intelligence in the Mutant Snake's eyes and even though it didn't speak like that 'Snake-Witch' did in the video they had a feeling more the creature deliberately chose not to speak rather than couldn't speak and that opened up a whole new bout of questions…
Von Kaiser in particular thought about how that giant mutant snake seemed the closest thing to slaying a dragon (Little did he know he would soon learn dragons are very much real and still alive in other universe) and he thought about the Wagner opera about Siegfried who is tasked to kill the dragon Fafnir who is initially described as a snake. But Von Kaiser didn't feel like a heroic knight instead he was feeling a feeling similar to the first time he killed in battle and how he tried to wash away the blood from his own murderous self!
Von Kaiser looked at his other two fellow Boxers...And he knew Asian Cultures like Hondo's and Great Tiger's believed animals had souls like humans...Von Kaiser thought to himself in his very logical German way…Let's say we start with the Western idea that animals don't start off with souls like humans do...Is it possible for them to gain a soul? Remembering that spark of intelligence in the snake's eyes and the fact the snake was scowling with an expressiveness most animals aren't supposed to be capable off...Really made Von Kaiser stop and think what exactly are they fighting against?
At the docks it seemed the day had passed without incident the three hunter boxers, told their co-workers of their encounter and Aran Ryan was immediately grateful he hadn't been picked to be on the militia thinking about he fear of snakes, it wouldn't have been worth the humiliation of emptying his bladder and bowels upon seeing that monstrosity!
So just a short little chapter catching up on where we left off last part of the story things should get a little more juicy in the net chapter
