Important Announcement

Hello, readers. I am sorry to say this, but this story will be under an indefinite hiatus. I may or may not delete the story, but I will leave it as-is until I decide. The chance of me coming back to finish this story is highly unlikely, and it will stay unfinished until further notice.

Please know that this decision is not due to reception or the media I have written the stories about, but rather a set of circumstances that have led me to abandon this story, which I will explain later. Do also note that these circumstances may be issues I personally have with the story that readers may not have, but make me want to drop it.

I just wanted to let you all know so you can stop waiting for updates, as they will likely never come. If there is a demand, I will post a chapter containing a simple overview of what would have happened in the story had I finished it.

Do note that this story will not reflect any stories I make in the future, and I will likely never revisit these concepts.

Now, for some explaining.

This story was honestly doomed from the start thanks to one factor: why I created it in the first place.

See, when I wrote this, I had just finished Hazbin Hotel, gotten both SS86 Coronation Starscream and Gamer Edition SS Starscream, and recently picked up the Skybound Energon Universe Transformers Comics, where Starscream was an utter menace. And it's pretty obvious where this is going: I had written it on a "Starscream High," and having just come off of Hazbin Hotel, I ended up writing a story of "Starscream meets Hazbin Hotel."

This was not sustainable for long-term writing. I had never even thought about making something like this until that moment when those "media highs" happened at the exact same time.

But, while writing the story, I had a lot of energy. I was asking you guys for suggestions, offering a choice of alternative routes for the story, etc. Hell, I even did one thing here that was a glaring flaw in my last story: I actually had a general plan for the plot. In addition, I had even begun thinking of future plot points, antagonists, songs, etc.

However, the flaw that lay deep in the story's core eventually reared its ugly head: the "high" I had made it on had faded, and it was something I just couldn't replicate. Buying more Starscream figures and reading more Skybound comics did nothing for that "Starscream High". And the "Hazbin Hotel High" was something I could never even hope to recreate.

Since the fading of that "high", something else happened: waning interest in the topics I made the fic around. See, while I do have a lot of Starscream figures, and think he's pretty cool, Soundwave is my favorite character. So I still am very much an avid Transformers fan, I just don't have as high of a fixation on Starscream as I did when I first got those figures. Also, my general interest in Hazbin Hotel to is all but gone. Even right after finishing the show, I only listened to two songs from the soundtrack, and now I don't even listen to those songs. I can't tell you how long it's been since I actively engaged in or consumed Hazbin Hotel media besides the occasions I would come back to this story.

Besides those reasons, there are also some personal problems with the story I have. Particularly the character development, or rather, the lack of it. I put the main Hazbin cast who had arcs aside and focused on a set of very flat characters. Literally half of them, I.E. The Hell Seekers, were made solely as troop builders with no intent for character development. That does not sit right with me and is a contributing factor to the hiatus.

That doesn't mean I didn't have fun writing this when I had the motivation and interest. I just don't anymore, and that is very unfortunate. I had big plans, but just couldn't get through before the interest faded.

In short: the fading excitement surrounding the two main components in this story, Starscream and Hazbin Hotel, losing interest in Hazbin Hotel as a whole, and having some problems with characterizations that has unfortunately led to this fic being put on hold until further notice.

However, that doesn't mean I haven't learned anything. Here are some things I learned.

One: don't make a story on a whim. If I want to continue a story, I want to be sure it's something I actually want to write and not just a product of temporary excitement.

Two: don't make promises, because you may not be able to go through with them, as seen with this fic's hiatus despite me promising some things that would happen in the future.

Three: make sure that the characters have some form of depth and arc. Unless a character is meant to be flat, don't make them flat.

Until the next time I find the motivation to continue this story, farewell.
