Ness widened his eyes when he saw Leaf's text. It's true, he does have a crush on Tina, but he didn't want anyone to know that. The rumors would spread and people are going to give Tina a hard time. He didn't want anyone saying that she was his next fling since apparently he fucked half the roster.

He doubts Leaf would say anything, but just to be sure, he should lie. Also he didn't want to be teased about it.

Leaf: It's the way you were acting earlier

Ness: How was I acting?

Leaf: She would say certain things and you would get all flustered

Ness: I was embarrassed. That's all.

Leaf: Why?

Ness: I don't know what to do when people compliment me.

Leaf: Do you not get compliments?

Ness: No not really.

Leaf: Your twitter fans gives you lots of compliments

Ness: Yeah I know. I'm not used to it. This never happened before.

Leaf: No one ever called you cute and stuff?

Ness: Nope.

Leaf: Wow I'm shocked

Ness: Really?

Leaf: Yeah you're not a bad looking guy

Ness: I don't know what to do… With that information.

Leaf: Lol you're so funny

Ness: You're messing with me.

Leaf: I'm not you're not ugly

Ness: You're right. I'm not ugly. I'm horrendous.

Leaf: Lmao you're so stupid

Ness: That too.

Leaf giggled to herself. The entire time they've been texting, she had a goofy smile on her face. The two continued to text for hours. She wondered if he had a stupid smile on his face too. She imagined it and that made her kick her legs and let out a quiet squeal.

Her Pokemon gave her a worried look when their trainer was getting all worked up. She was overjoyed suddenly and they wondered what was wrong with her?

She pulled her Pokemon into a group hug and squeezed them.

Leaf: "I love you guys!"

Charizard: "Char?" (I love you too?)

Squirtle: "Squirtle." (Weirdo.)

Ivysuar: "Ivy!" (I love you too!)

She kissed them goodnight and put her phone down. She threw her blanket over her and closed her eyes.

The Next Day…

Shy Blonde

Ness woke up at twelve in the evening like usual. He laid there for a bit thinking about how he acted last night. He owes Lucas an apology. He shouldn't have prioritized Tina over him. He's glad that Leaf and Tina were able to get to know each other, but he felt guilty about Lucas.

Today is going to be all about Lucas. He owes it to him. He took out his phone and dialed his number.

Calling Lucas…

Lucas: "Hello?"

Ness: "Hey, Lucas."

Lucas: "Oh hey."

Ness: "I'm sorry about last night."

Lucas: "It's ok."

Ness: *Sighs* "I really am sorry. I wasn't aware that I was being a jerk there. I know you're uncomfortable when it comes to groups."

Lucas: "No, I was sleepy. That's all."

Ness: "Lucas, c'mon, you can be honest with me. Remember I want you to tell me if I did something that upset you."

Lucas: "I was a little upset."

Ness: "I'm sorry."

Lucas: "It's ok. I understand that you also wanna hang out with others too. I got too emotional."

Ness: "No, don't downplay your feelings please. We were supposed to hang out last night and I decided to change the plan abruptly. I'm sorry. I want to make it up to you."

Lucas: "Make it up to me?"

Ness: "Yeah. Today I want it to be just you and me. All day."

Lucas: "All day?"

Ness: "If that's ok with you of course."

Lucas: "I would love to!"

Ness: "Thank you! Um, so what do you want to do?"

Lucas: "I don't know."

Ness: "We could go to the Poke Park for starters."

Lucas: "Ok, I'm gonna go change and I'll be right over to your place."

Ness: "Cool."

Beep!

Lucas changed his clothes and went over to Ness's room.

Knock!

Knock!

Ness opened the door. The blonde bent down and pet Lucky. The cute Pokemon rubbed his cheek on Lucas's leg.

Lucas: "Aww, so cute~"

Ness: "I know right. He's definitely going to win the beauty contest."

Lucas: "Beauty contest?"

Ness: "Oh! I didn't tell you?"

Lucas: "Tell me what?"

The two began walking out of the mansion and toward the Poke Park.

Ness: "Leaf signed me up for a beauty contest. It's different from your average Pokemon fighting tournaments."

Lucas: "What do you do?"

Ness: "I've been looking up videos. Essentially, the judges judge your Pokemon by the clothes they're wearing."

Lucas: "Aww, it's a beauty pageant."

Ness: "There's more."

Lucas: "More?"

Ness: "The trainer has to find creative ways to create a beautiful display using the Pokemon's powers."

Lucas: "Whoa! That sounds intense."

Ness: "It is. I realized that maybe this might be harder than I thought."

Lucas: "You gotta start practicing with Lucky."

Ness: "I know. Hey, maybe you can help me!"

Lucas: "I don't know anything about Pokemon."

Ness: "I was hoping you could be the judge."

Lucas: *Chuckles* "Me?"

Ness: "Yeah, doesn't that sound like fun?"

Lucas: "It does!"

Ness: "I want you to be brutally honest."

Lucas: "Brutally honest, huh?" *Smirks*

Ness: "I don't like that look."

Lucas: "Whaaat. You won't get upset, right?"

Ness: "Nope! Because Lucky and I will blow your mind."

Lucas: "Confident, are we?"

Ness: "I've done my research. I'm pretty sure you're going to love it."

Lucas: "But this is your first time practicing."

Ness: "Yeah, well, usually I get things right on my first try~"

Lucas: "Fine. Show me then."

Once the boys arrived at the Poke Park, they went to the grassy field section. A large area for Pokemon to run as fast as they can. It's perfect for practice.

Ness: "Alright, Lucky, are you ready to be the very best like no one ever was?"

Lucas: "Hahaha! You're stupid."

Lucky: "Espii!"

Ness tossed a log in the air.

Ness: "Use swift!"

Lucky just stared at him. The log fell on the floor and Ness groaned.

Lucas: "Uh…"

Ness: "Lucky, you were supposed to attack the log, not stare at me."

Lucky: "Espii." (Treats.)

Lucky stood up on his hind legs and put his paws on Ness's rucksack.

Lucky: "Espii!" (Treats!)

Lucas: "I think he wants your treats."

Ness: "Lucky, I'll give you treats after you do this."

Lucky: "Espii! Espeon!" (No! Treats right now!)

Ness: "No treats! You have to listen to me first."

The Espeon started stomping his way over to Lucas.

Lucas: "Uh… H-hello."

Lucky: "Espii!" (Treats!)

Lucas: "I'm sorry. I don't have any treats."

Lucky: "Espeon!" (Gimme treats!)

Lucas: "That's what he wants, right? I can't understand him."

Ness: "Yes, he wants treats. But too bad! Lucky, come back here."

Lucky closed his eyes and turned his head away.

Ness: *Scoffs* "Lucky!"

Lucas: "Does he always do this?"

Ness: "Not always. Sometimes he'll listen."

Lucas: "Only sometimes?"

Ness used his telekinetic power to pick up Lucky and hover him over.

Ness: "Lucky, if you do this, I'll give you a treat ok."

Lucky: "Espii…"

Ness picked up the log and threw it in the air again.

Ness: "Use swift!"

Lucky summoned stars and aimed at the log. The stars pelted the log cutting it in half.

Ness: "Hmm."

Lucas: "That was… You know, alright."

Ness: "Ok, maybe let's dial it back. Try hitting the log lighter."

Lucas: "You didn't mean for the log to be cut like that?"

Ness: "Nope. I have this really cool idea."

Lucas: "What is it?"

Ness: "I don't want to tell you. That'll ruin the cool surprise."

Ness found another log and chucked it in the air.

Ness: "Use swift, but this time less power!"

Lucky ignored him and walked back to his rucksack.

Lucky: "Espii." (Treat.)

Ness: *Sighs* "Fiine."

He dug through his rucksack and pulled out a bag of treats. He tossed Lucky one and he happily ate it.

Lucky: "Espii~" (More~)

Ness: "No more. We have to practice ok."

Lucky: "Espii."

Ness picked up the log and tossed it in the air.

Ness: "Lucky, use swift, but use less power!"

Lucky: "Espii!"

Lucky used swift and just like last time, he chopped the log into pieces.

Ness sighed through his nose.

Ness: "Ok, well, you happened to cut the log again, so that's great."

Lucky: "Espii~"

Lucas: "A solid three."

Ness: "More like a one."

Lucas: "At least the stars are pretty."

Ness clapped his hands together and walked over to Lucas.

Ness: "Alright, break time."

Lucas: "You're giving up?"

Ness: "I never give up. We're taking a break. Lucky, go play with the others."

Lucky: "Espii!"

Lucky ran off to the playground area. The two boys went to a bench and sat down.

Ness: "That sucked."

Lucas: "I'm sure he'll listen to you eventually."

Ness: "Hopefully before the contest."

Lucas: "If not, are you still going to contest?"

Ness: "Yes. I have to at least try."

Lucas: "Won't that be embarrassing though?"

Ness: "Yeaaah…"

Lucas: "I'll help you where I can."

Ness: "Thanks, Lucas. I appreciate it."

The two continued to watch Lucky in silence. They were simply enjoying each other's company.

Lucas accidentally placed his hand on Ness's hand. They both immediately swiped their hands away.

Ness: "Haha… S-sorry."

Lucas: "No, I was the one that did it. Sorry."

The two awkwardly laughed it off. Lucky ran back to Ness and demanded pets. He bent down and started petting his Pokemon.

Ness: "I like it when Lucky acts like this. Not his usual bratty self."

Lucas: "Yeah, he just wants love."

Lucky was exhausted. He frowned and pawed Ness's rucksack.

Lucas: "I think he wants to go back to his ball."

Ness: "I guess training is done for today."

Ness took out his ball and returned Lucky.

Lucas: "So, what should we do now?"

Ness: "Um, whatever you want to do."

Lucas: "Can we play mini golf?"

Ness was hesitant because he's never played mini golf before. What if he's not good? He was confident in showing off Lucky's potential for the contest, but it turned out to be a disappointment. He felt embarrassed. What if he sucks at mini golf and embarrasses himself again?

Ness: "M-mini golf? I mean…"

Lucas: "We don't have to." *Frowns*

Ness: "N-no! We can play mini golf. I don't mind."

Lucas: "Are you sure?"

Ness: "Yeah, let's play mini golf."

Lucas: "Yay!"

Lucas grabbed Ness's hand and led him to the smash arcade which was located in the mall. The arcade had lots of games, bowling, mini golf, laser tag, and more! It was expensive, but Lucas really wanted to go and he owes it to him for being neglectful yesterday.

Together they started walking toward the mini golf room.

Zoom!

A blue blur sped over to them.

Sonic: "Whoa, didn't think I'd see you guys here."

Ness: "Why do I always bump into you…"

Sonic: "Hey! I'm awesome. You should be glad that you're in the same presence as Sonic The Hedgehog."

Ness: "I'd rather die."

Sonic smirked at Ness.

Sonic: "I mean I could kill you."

Ness: "Ha! You wish. I'm stronger than you."

Sonic: "You? Stronger than me? Please. I can go super. Can you go super?"

Ness: "Well, n-no but-

Sonic: "I have many forms that do different shit. You're just Ness. There's no way someone as average as you can beat me. I have infinite power."

Lucas: *Snickers*

Sonic: "See. He agrees."

Ness: "I don't need to go super to beat you."

Sonic: "Honestly, your powers are so bland, I don't even think I need to go super."

Ness: "You want to fight?"

Sonic: "Bold, aren't ya?"

Lucas: "Hey, guys."

Sonic and Ness turned their attention to the blonde.

Lucas: "Why not compete with mini golf?"

Sonic: "Mini golf?"

Ness: "You want HIM to join us?"

Lucas: "Sure."

Ness: "I thought you wanted it to be just you and me."

Lucas: "I don't mind Sonic. He's funny."

Sonic: "See that? Everyone loves me."

Sonic pinched Ness's cheek. He slapped his hand away and scowled.

Ness: "Don't touch me."

Sonic: "What? Did it hurt too much?"

Ness: "N-no!"

Sonic: "And you say you can beat me."

Ness: "I can!"

Lucas: "Let's settle it down at mini golf."

Sonic: "I'm down, are you?"

Ness: "..."

Sonic: "Unless you're too scared that I'll win of course."

Ness: "In your dreams."

Lucas wasn't much of a group person. He always got nervous whenever someone joined. However, Sonic was a different story. The hedgehog was incredibly social and he noticed that Sonic likes to include everyone. It's not going to be like how it was with Ness and Tina. Besides, seeing the two banter is hilarious.

The three went to the mini golf room. Ness stared at the place in awe. It's bigger than he expected.

Lucas: "Have you ever played mini golf before?"

Ness: "Uh…"

Sonic: "Of course he has. I mean he's so confident that he can beat me, so…"

Lucas: "Great! I don't have to show you how to do it then."

Ness: "R-right."

The three of them started playing mini golf. Ness was struggling. Meanwhile Sonic was able to get the ball in the hole every time. He was insane!

Ness: "H-how!"

Sonic: "I'm just too good~"

Lucas: "Oh hey, I got one!"

Sonic: "Good job, Lucas."

Ness: "This is ridiculous."

Lucas: "Ness, are you sure you've played before?"

Ness: *Scoffs* "Yes!"

Sonic: "Then why do you suck so much?"

Ness: "Because I'm going easy on you two."

Lucas: "I dunno. You look pretty frustrated to me."

Sonic: "Nice one."

Lucas and Sonic high-fived each other.

Ness: "I hate both of you."

Sonic and Lucas: "Hahaha!"

Ness: "You just wait and watch, I'm going to get the next one."

He swung his fuckin' golf stick and the ball almost made it in the hole.

Ness: *Gasps* "Did you see that! I almost did it!"

Sonic: "Almost doesn't count."

Lucas: *Snickers*

Ness: "Mini golf sucks."

Sonic: "Nah, you just suck."

Lucas: "It's ok, Ness. It takes practice."

Sonic: "Nah, he can never be good even if he practiced everyday."

Ness: "And why's that, huh?"

Sonic: "Because you have a serious case of ligma."

Ness: "What's ligma?"

Sonic: "Ligma ballz! Hahaha!"

Sonic swung the golf stick and the ball made it in.

Ness: "What!"

Lucas: "Hahaha!"

Sonic wiped a tear from his eye.

Sonic: "This is too funny."

Ness: "Your joke was bad."

Sonic: "If it's so bad why did Lucas laugh?"

Ness: "Because he didn't want you to feel left out."

Lucas: "No, it was kinda funny."

Ness: "Lucas!"

Sonic and Lucas: "Hahaha!"

Sonic: "C'mon, bro, we're just messin' with ya."

Lucas: "Yeah, no hard feelings."

Ness: "Hmph!"

He crossed his arms and turned his head away.

Lucas: "Alright, alright, how about we give him some space."

Sonic: "You're right. He'll need it for his last try."

Ness took a deep breath. This is his last swing. He bent his knees and as he swung at the ball Sonic yelled, "miss!"

Ness cringed and swung the stick too hard. The ball came flying at the mini windmill. It bounced back and hit Sonic right in the eye.

Sonic: "OW! FUCK!"

Lucas and Ness started laughing.

Ness: "That's what you get!"

Sonic: "You asshole!"

Ness: "You were the asshole first."

Lucas: "I mean he's not wrong. You did provoke him."

Sonic: "Damn, Lucas, who's side are you on?"

Lucas gave the two an innocent smile.

Sonic: "Little demon."

Ness: "I told you he's not an innocent little angel."

Sonic opened his damaged eye and it was red. The two earthbound boys cringed.

Ness and Lucas: "Oooh."

Sonic: "Does it look bad?"

Ness: "I didn't think you could get uglier."

Sonic: "Fuck you."

Ness: "No thanks~"

Lucas: *Snickers*

Ness saw how happy Lucas was and felt accomplished. Bringing Sonic over was a good idea after all.

Sonic: "Can one of you earthbound motherfuckers heal my eye!"

Ness: "I'll do it. If you beg."

Sonic: "I'm sorry, what? I didn't quite hear that right."

Ness: "Beg."

Sonic: "You want me to beg?"

Ness: "Yep."

Sonic: "I'm not doing that."

Ness: "Guess you're not getting healed then."

Sonic: "Lucas, you can heal, right?"

Lucas: "I can."

Sonic: "Then heal me."

Lucas: "Ok."

Lucas was about to take a step forward, but Ness grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

Ness: "No. Let me have this."

Lucas: "Uh…"

Sonic: "Ness, you bitch!"

Ness: "Beg."

Sonic: "What the fuck kind of kinky shit are you on?!"

Ness: "You're always bullying me, so I get to bully you for once. It's not a kink thing."

Sonic: "It's a kink thing."

Ness: "I'm definitely not healing you now."

Sonic: "Lucas!"

Lucas: "Hahaha! I dunno, this is kind of funny."

Sonic: "You know what! I don't need you guys. I can heal this off on my own. It doesn't even hurt."

Ness: "Oooh, tough guy."

Sonic: "Hell yeah I am."

Ness: "Says the one that was begging to be healed."

Sonic: "Clearly you guys can't heal."

Ness: "We can. We just don't want to. You're a tough guy, so you can handle it."

Sonic: "You're right. I don't need you two."

Lucas: "Sonic is too good."

Sonic: "Fuck yeah I am! I've dealt with worse pain."

Ness: "I'm sure you have."

The three ended up leaving the arcade and went to the food court. The three bought chili dogs and walked around the mall.

Lucas: "This is nice."

Sonic: "I know this chili dog slaps!"

Lucas: "No, I meant the hangout."

Ness: "Yeah, idiot!"

Sonic: "You're the idiot."

Ness: "Says the one that got hit in the eye for being an annoying little shit. That wasn't very smart of you."

Sonic: "How was I supposed to know the fuckin' ball was gonna launch at my eye?"

Ness: "Guess you were TOO SLOW to react."

Sonic: "Did you just call me slow?"

Ness: "Slow in the brain and physically."

Sonic: "Lucas, hold my chili dog."

Lucas: "Ok."

Lucas grabbed Sonic's chili dog.

Ness: "Wha-

Sonic went full spider monkey on Ness. The two had a cartoonish style cat fight in the mall in front of everyone. Spirits and assist trophies gathered around and started recording.

Ness: "Get off of me!"

Chomp!

Sonic bit Ness's arm hard.

Ness: "AH!"

The psychic with his free arm pushed Sonic's face away.

Ness: "What're you a fucking dog?"

Sonic: "A smart person would know I'm a hedgehog."

Lucas: "Hey, guys. People are recording."

The two looked around and saw that a crowd had gathered. They got off of each other and dusted themselves off.

The crowd saw that they were no longer fighting and left.

Lucas went up to his friends. He handed Sonic his chili dog back.

Ness: "Where'd mine go?"

Lucas: "It's on the floor."

Ness: "Sonic, you owe me a chili dog."

Sonic: "I'll buy you one. If you beg~"

Ness: "Fuck you."

Sonic: "No thanks~"

These two are too much. Lucas died of laughter. He laughed so much his stomach hurt. Sonic and Ness looked at the blonde. They then looked at each other and then back at the blonde. They smiled and fist bumped each other. They felt proud that they got Lucas to laugh like this. Ness hasn't seen his friend this happy in a while.

Ness: "I'm glad we bumped into you."

Sonic: "Yeah?"

Ness: "Yeah. It wouldn't have been as fun."

Sonic: "Stop with the sappy shit. You're makin' me uncomfortable."

Ness: "Hahaha!"

Sonic: "But yeah, I'm glad I got to hang out with you guys. You two made my day."

Ness had a shocked expression for a split second. He blushed and a smile forcefully tugged at his lips.

Ness: "The feeling is mutual."

Sonic: "Hey."

Ness: "What?"

Sonic: "If I buy you another chili dog, will you please heal my eye."

Ness: "Deal, but only because I'm still hungry."

Sonic: "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
