Tornado adopts a Unicorn
Tatsumaki was still on the ground in shock. Eri was kidnapped, and all she did was watch. She was a failure.
"Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah" She was breathing way too fast.
Her hands would not stop shaking. Why was her head getting dizzy? It was way too warm in here, and she was freezing. It was so cold, but she felt so warm.
"Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah" Why couldn't she stop breathing so goddamn fast?
She has to do something. But what? She couldn't think straight.
Right, search for Eri's presence. It should only be a matter of time before she finds her.
And she did just that. With her telekinesis, she searched a 100-kilometer radius in hopes of finding her little girl. She could feel every person, every little animal, and other things in that radius. But not Eri. It was like she was swallowed whole.
She expanded her radius further to 200 kilometers.
"HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH" It's ... getting hard to breathe. She is suffocating.
Again, nothing.
Now 300 kilometers. It was starting to hurt now. All this information was too much for her.
But still, nothing.
500 kilometers. Her head was killing her.
Nothing again.
1000 kilometers. Blood came out of her nose. Veins popped in her eyes, and they were colored in a deep red.
Noth- nothing. No no no no no no no no no.
"Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah" Her lungs were hurting so much.
To hell with it. The whole planet. She doesn't care anymore how much it will hurt.
Pure pain was what she was feeling right now. She expanded her power around the whole planet, making her mind go crazy. It was like her head was pierced by over a million spears. She got a read on every single person on the planet. But no one matched her daughter's energy signature. The information overload was making her head spin.
Bu- but it was in vain. Even now, she couldn't find her daughter's presence.
How is that possible? Her whole body was shaking in shock and sensory overload. Blood was leaking out of every hole in her head. Ears, mouth, nose, eyes, it didn't matter. She had to find Eri. She had to ... to ...
"HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH"
She fell unconscious.
/
She woke up in UA's infirmary. It was the next morning already.
Her eyes slowly fluttered open and adjusted to her surroundings. Her head was killing her, and she was so exhausted. What happe- Oh ...
She tried to sit up, but her body did not listen to her. Why did her body feel so heavy?
Then, she heard a voice next to her bed. "Please rest, deary. Don't worry about anything right now, and just let your body get some strength back." It was the voice of an old lady. It was gentle and warm.
"She's gone." Tatsumaki whispered, strained.
Recovery Girl looked at Tatsumaki with a pained expression. She put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed it slightly. "I know. But Nezu is trying his best to find her. Even All Might is using all his contacts to look for her. Just rest for a bit. You are not alone."
But Tatsumaki didn't listen and tried to sit up again. It was so difficult. Her whole body felt as heavy as a rock. "No. I need to find her. She's ... all alone out there. I nee- ..." Suddenly, her eyes widened. Her expression changed from worry to pure fury. "OVERHAUL! THIS BASTARD. HE'S THE ONE WHO TOOK HER, I KNOW IT. HE WILL PAY. I WILL RIP HIM APART. WHEN I GET MY ... my ... urgh." Tatsumaki slumped back into the bed in exhaustion. Why won't her body listen to her?
Recovery Girl was again beside her, trying to calm the esper down. "Miss Tatsumaki, I know you want to find your daughter, but your body needs to rest. I scanned your brain when you were unconscious, and it was completely fried. The stunt you pulled in your house nearly killed you. Please rest. You can try to find your daughter when you are back in full health." She tried to reason with Tatsumaki, and her tone was rougher now.
Something wet ran down Tatsumaki's face.
Was she ... crying?
Hot tears ran down her face, and her expression looked painfully strained. She tried to stand up again. "You don't understand. Do you know what Eri must go through right now? God, she probably is scared out of her mind right now. Please ... let me ... find ... my ... my ..."
Tatsumaki went back to sleep. Recovery Girl put her to sleep with some medication. It was for the best. She needs to rest, or else she will kill herself in the state she is in.
/
"LET ME GO, YOU STUPID VILLAIN! I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU. MY MOMMY WILL FIND ME, AND THEN SHE WILL BEAT YOU UP!" Eri screamed at Overhaul with rage. It was like looking at a miniature version of Tatsumaki. She was not scared at all. She knew that her mommy would get her back.
Eri was currently tied to a chair.
Kurono looked at the girl with wide eyes. Did ... did that child just insult Kai? The child that was always scared out of her mind by the smallest things? What happened to her?
But Overhaul looked at Eri with disgust. "Tch, it looks like you lost all your manners in the time you were with this witch. But don't worry, I will correct everything soon enough. You cursed child just have to-" "Shut up. I won't listen to you. I'm not cursed. Mommy said my quirk is awesome. BLEH!" She stuck her tongue out at him.
A vein popped on Overhaul's forehead.
He spoke to Kurono with gritted teeth. "Kurono, watch over the brat. I need to check if everything is going as planned."
With that, he went outside and left Eri alone with Kurono.
Kurono turned around to look at Eri. He expected her to be terrified and scared out of her mind, but the girl looked completely fine this entire time. And now she was even smirking at him. It was pissing him off.
"What are you smiling about? Do you have even the slightest idea in what position you are in right now? Just be quiet if you don't want to get hurt, girl." He spat at Eri with venom in his voice, trying to scare her a bit.
But Eri was not impressed at all. She simply lifted her chin and looked at him with an arrogant smirk. "Hmph, if you idiots are going to hurt me, my mom will only beat you up more."
Kurono clenched his fist in anger. This brat. Who does she think she is talking to. He ignored her and sat down to review the plan one last time.
/
It was now late in the evening on the same day. Nezu sat in his office with All Might and Tsukauchi.
They were reviewing the facts and hints they had acquired in the last couple of hours. They also looked at the camera footage of Tatsumaki's house, and no, she does not know about these cameras yet.
Without any rest and full attention on the case, they were working on it. Then suddenly, the door to Nezu's office was slammed open, and a stressed esper walked inside. Walked, not flying.
Her eyes were still red, and she was hunched forward. You could feel the heartbreak just by looking at her.
She scanned the room, noticing that everyone was already there. She was not fully rested yet, but that didn't mean she was sitting around in a hospital bed when her daughter needed her. She locked eyes with Nezu and spoke with a sharp tone. "Speak! Did you find anything yet?" Her tone was sharp, but you could hear the strain behind it.
Nezu was not smiling. He was sipping his tea to carefully consider what to say next. "Unfortunately, we have not found anything yet. But rest assured, Tsukauchi has already alarmed the whole police, and All Might has many contacts who are also doing their best to find your daughter." Nezu explained simply.
Tatsumaki sighed and took a seat beside Tsukauchi. "I scanned the whole planet with my telekinesis. But I couldn't find her presence, not even a trace of it. So ... they probably know how to block ESP." She looked at the table with a defeated expression.
Nezu thought about it for a bit. "Hmmm, do you have a suspect, Miss Tatsumaki? Or do you know who would be able to block your telekinesis?"
"No."
Then, her eyes widened a bit. "But ... there was the accident with one of those Nomu creatures. I couldn't feel his presence either. That was six days ago." She sounded a little more hopeful, thinking it was a clue to finding Eri.
This got the attention of All Might. "Then it's probably the League of Villains. They are responsible for the creation of the Nomus. But why would they ..." His eyes widened, and he snapped his fingers. "THATS IT! You killed All For One. They want to get revenge for their fallen master. If we find the league, we find Eri as well, probably." All Might exclaimed excitedly. It's not often he can connect the dots on a case. He's not dumb, far from it, but he is still a musclehead.
Tatsumaki continued to look down with clenched fists. If what All Might said is true, then it was her fault Eri is gone. She's such a failure as a mother.
Thinking about the situation, Tsukauchi tried to give his own piece. "We still need to think of our other suspect. Overhaul could very well also be responsible for Eris's kidnapping. I mean, he held her captive in the first place, and I don't think he will just sit back and let Eri have a normal life if he can reach her." He said to get everyone's attention back. They can't have tunnel vision and go after the first suspect they find.
Then he looked at Tatsumaki and asked her something. He wanted to ask this question after she finished the raid but couldn't because the raid was done in secret and because she quickly flew away to see Eri. But now was the perfect time for it. "Tatsumaki, after the raid of Overhaul's base, you said that he fled with a warp gate. Could you tell me what color it had and its shape?"
"It was purple, and it was swirling around like sharp clouds. He just walked through it." She explained quietly. The others were not used to seeing her like this. So ... defeated.
This time, Nezu butted into the conversation. "Then it seems that Overhaul and the League of Villains are working together. That means we should focus everything we have on finding them. Gentlemen, if you excuse me, I need to make a few calls. Tsukauchi, please continue on your own at the station. I will contact you if I find anything new. And All Might, it would be great if you could contact your old partner, Sir Night Eye. I know you are on bad terms, but a child's life is at stake here." Nezu finished his order in a calm tone as he sipped on his tea, and then he turned his attention to Tatsumaki, who still had this sad look in her eyes. "Miss Tatsumaki, I can assure you that we all will work as hard as possible to find your daughter. You are not alone. Please have trust in us."
After hearing that, Tatsumaki smiled a little at Nezu. It was forced, and her eyes were still without life, but at least she had a little hope now."Thanks, Nezu."
/
And so, the days went by quickly, with everyone doing their absolute best to find little Eri. But even so, Tatsumaki's mood went down day by day. She lacked her usual vigor, and her temper was at an all-time low. She was still doing hero work, but only because she needed to vent. She was brutal, even more than usual. Not a single villain was not immediately hospitalized.
She worked 20 hours straight, with only four hours of sleep for the last 12 days. No rest, no mercy, and always looking for her little girl. It was driving her mad. How dare they kidnap her daughter. When she gets her fingers on them, she will kill them in the most brutal way imaginable.
But she had to find them first, and that was why she was currently on her way to the rat. They met once a week to discuss new clues and details they had gathered during their time apart.
In his office, they sat in their usual circle. Nezu began to go over newly acquired information. "Well, it looks like we have good news and bad news. The good news is that the HPSC is working overtime in search of the League of Villains. I don't like them, but it is still good to know they are finally taking them seriously. The bad news, however, is that we still don't have any clues about Eri's whereabouts. All Might, you said that Mirai couldn't find anything? And Tsukauchi, is there really no trace to follow? I know that we are basically searching blindly here, but there must be at least something to go by." Nezu said, lacking his usual cheerful tone.
All Might took this situation to heart. His heroic spirit could not handle that he couldn't even find a single girl in dire need of help. It was devastating to him. "No, Nezu, Mirai could not find anything. I couldn't acquire a useful clue even with all my contacts." Then he looked at Tatsumaki with determination. "But I promise, young Tatsumaki, that I will definetily find your daughter." His tone was encouriging, but it still did not lift her spirits.
Then, it was Tsukauchi's turn. He spoke in his usual profffessional tone. "Sadly, I too was unable to find anything. We looked over so much camera footage that our eyes were starting to hurt. We went over old documents and everything, but we still ended up empty-handed."
All eyes were then turned to Tatsumaki, who still had this lifeless look in her eyes. "I was flying over Japan today. Ten times, in fact. No trace of her." She said emotionless.
The meeting continued without any useful information from them, but Tatsumaki did not expect anything different.
She just wants to see her little girl.
/
Tatsumaki woke up to a random guy smashing her doorbell.
It had been four weeks since Eri's kidnapping, and at this point, Tatsumaki nearly lost all hope. Don't take this the wrong way. She will search for Eri as long as it takes. But what if she ... no, she shouldn't think like that. She needs to stay strong. Her daughter is waiting for her.
She got out of bed with no life in her eyes. She had not smiled a single time in the last couple of weeks. Slowly, she made her way to the door with a listless figure. What's the point anyway? It's not like there will be any good news. It's probably just one of the students from 1A checking how she's doing.
She opened the door and met the president of the HPSC and Endeavor. Her mood immediately dropped even lower. What did they want from her? By God, if they make fun of her situation, she would bury them alive.
But surprisingly, what they said to her gave her a bit more hope again. "Miss Tatsumaki, we know where your daughter is." Madam President said emotionless. Still, these words rekindled the fire in Tatsumaki's heart.
Tatsumaki stood there staring at them for a long time before blinking and shaking her head to snap out of it. Did she hear that right? They know where Eri is? How? Are they lying? No, they value their life too much.
"Speak." Her tone was shaky. It was too good to be true. But she wanted it to be true so badly.
Madam President leaned forward and gestured with her hand inside the house. "Please, can we get inside first? What we are going to tell you is top secret, and if this information gets leaked, it could be the end for Japan." She said with urgency, but her tone was not as arogant as last time.
The esper sighed and invited them inside. "Sure, come with me. We can talk at the table in the living room." She won't tell them that Japan would be fine as long as she was here. It's not like any of these villains would be a threat to her.
Madam President sat across from Tatsumaki at the table, with Endeavor taking the spot left from her. "I will come straight to the point. I won't go over all the details, just the information you need to know. You only need to worry about fighting. The rest will be done by the police and us." The woman took out some papers and showed them Tatsumaki. She immediately scanned over them.
"Currently, the League of Villains has merged with the Meta Liberation Army and is now called the Paranormal Liberation Front. They have over 100,000 members, all ready to engage in combat. Some of these villains are even stronger than some of our top heroes. The good thing is we know where all of their bases are, where they create the Nomus, and where their HQ is. We speculate that your daughter is held captive in their HQ. Hawks is undercover at the moment and said that he saw one of the old members of the Shie Hassaikai." What the woman said was absorbed by Tatsumaki like a sponge. If they tell her the truth, then she will immediately take off and get her little girl back. Tatsumaki stood up and tried to fly away. She will ...
She was cut out of her thoughts by Madam President. "Before you storm off on your own, please let us finish. I know our first meeting could have gone better, but I'm not here to recruit you today. I will not bother you from today onward, so please just listen to what I have to say. Our whole country depends on it. On you." The president spoke rushed to stop Tatsumaki. She was even bowing now. Tatsumaki was surprised that the woman was even capable of such gestures.
Tatsumaki sat back down and listened to what she had to say. "Fine, but make it quick. I will not let my daughter suffer any longer." The old Tatsumaki was finally back. The thought of seeing her Eri again reawakened the dormant flame inside Tatsumaki's heart.
Pleased, the president of the HPSC looked at Endeavour and nodded at him. Then Endeavor began to speak with his usual rough tone. "We have planned an operation to arrest every single one of these villains. We will mobilize every hero in the country to form a counterforce against the PLF. With you as our spearhead, the villains won't be able to do any harm to the civilians or the country. We will attack the PLF in exactly three days. You will be stationed two kilometers away from their HQ and be the only one attacking it. Because of your strength, we don't think you need other heroes there. That means we can focus on their other bases. We will wipe them out in one quick swipe. But it will only work if we operate as a team. Suppose you head out now and attack their HQ. In that case, the other villains in the other bases may disappear and hide to wait for the right moment to attack again. And not to mention, what if your daughter is not at their HQ? What if she is in one of their other bases?" Endeavor tried to make his point with a hot glare and an authoritarian tone.
Then he calmed down and began to speak again. "I don't like you, but we don't have the time to argue now. Just wait for three more days and let us help you. There is not only your daughter at stake here. It's all of Japan and the civilians too."
Tatsumaki stared at him for quite a while. What he said was the truth. She couldn't deny that. He was right. What if Eri was not at their HQ? What then? She would search for her all over again. She didn't like it, but she would have to wait, even if it pained her.
Just three more days. She can do it.
Sighing, she agreed to their method. "Alright, I'll wait. But if you guys are not ready at that time, I will do it alone. Got it?" Her tone was sharp. She waited for long enough, and she would not tolerate incompetence.
Madam President and Endeavour agreed and left her house. They said they would call in three days to invite her for the briefing.
Only three more days. She can do it, probably.
Three days.
Only three days.
She can do it.
Just wait three days, and you will see Eri again.
Who is she kidding?
She can't do it. It's impossible. These will be the longest three days of her life.
/
On the first day, the only thing Tatsumaki did was work. For 24 hours straight, she flew around the world, arresting villains. She was even more brutal with them than usual. She was reaching a boiling point.
On the second day, she tried to clear her head and trained with the brats. She needed some kind of distraction, and the villains only reminded her of the situation with Eri. Tatsumaki was getting restless. It gets worse by the minute.
Only one more day. Only one more day. Only one more day.
Only one more day!
The last day. It was nearly over. Just this day, and then it was finally time.
This was the worst day by far. Tatsumaki sat on the couch the whole day, staring at the clock. She did nothing else. She only stared at the clock from the moment she woke up until she went back to bed. It was pure agony. She nearly went insane.
But finally, the three days are over. Surprisingly, she successfully waited three days, if you believe it or not. It was pure agony. But now it was finally time to rescue her daughter.
She was waiting in a big open room with many of Japan's top heroes present. Endeavor, Mirko, Edgeshot, All Might, and many more heroes assembled to create the biggest strike force in hero history. They all were here to rescue Eri or to at least arrest the villains. They were sitting at a big table, waiting for the briefing to start. Tatsumaki had waited for so long. Surely, five more minutes would not kill her.
It really would not kill her if the damn rabbit would stop staring at her with this ugly grin. "What do you want, rabbit?" She snapped at Mirko, whose grin got even wider.
"Heh, you're even smaller in person. What do you say, Tornado? Up for a sparing match after this whole mess is finished?" She loudly asked the esper in an excited tone.
The other heroes looked at the scene in anticipation. They wouldn't dare get between these two now.
Tatsumaki was this close to blowing a hole through the rabbit's skull. But Mirko was saved by the door finally opening, with the police chief entering the room.
His voice was strong, and he carried himself with confidence. "Good morning everyone. I see that everyone has already arrived safely. Then we can begin. Let me start by saying that I'm deeply honored to see so many of our heroes working together to take down the Paranormal Liberation Front once and for all. Standing before the earth's greatest hero is also a great honor. Tornado of Terror, I thank you for your participation." He bowed and sat down at the end of the table to start the briefing. Tatsumaki didn't care about the gesture. She just wanted to see Eri again.
"Well then, as you may know already, the League of Villains somehow managed to create a force of over 100,000 villains and changed their name to Paranormal Liberation Front, short PLF. Fortunately, our hero, Hawks, managed to infiltrate them and gather useful information. We know nearly all their members, bases, and other things about them. And soon, we will bring them down." He stood up and showed a map of Japan.
"You will operate in different teams. Every team will be assigned to one of their bases. There are over fifty in total. But the good thing is that most of their members, including the most powerful ones, are currently at their main base. And the hero who will raid that one is none other than Tornado. That means we can use more heroes on other bases, making things easier. Also, All Might said that he would use his last remaining strength to raid a base of his own. He told me that he could use his power for five full minutes, and if he pushed himself, he could increase his time to maybe even ten minutes. This also drastically makes things way easier for us." The chief proudly explained the situation in a calming but reassuring tone.
The rest of the meeting was quickly done. Every hero was assigned to one team, which was assigned to one of the villains' many bases. It was also explained that the students would help the heroes evacuate the areas surrounding the battlefield.
And then it was time to fight. Tatsumaki was ready. She was itching to release her power at the maximum output.
But of course, things couldn't be simple for once in her life.
When the chief told her that they planned to attack them the next day, she nearly blew the whole building up. She had already waited for three days. Why can't they attack right now? But she managed to calm down. He told her that they still needed to mobilize some heroes. Without them, they simply couldn't start.
It took all of Tatsumaki's willpower to remain calm and not immediately fly to the bastards that held her daughter captured.
One day? Are they serious? She already waited three whole days. Goddammit!
To distract herself, she tried meditation. This was the first time in her life that she had done something like that.
How hard can it be?
…
After five minutes, she blew up a mountain.
Let's never do something like that again.
The rest of the day was spent finding things to distract the worried esper. But nothing worked. She couldn't get Eri out of her head.
But Tatsumaki managed to wait yet another day. And now, she was currently flying over the PLF HQ. Her power itched within herself. She wanted so badly to unleash it all. It was driving her crazy.
Unsurprisingly, she couldn't sense anything inside of it, which meant they really managed to block her powers. 'Tch, let's see how long you can survive me.'
Tatsumaki focused all her energy around herself. She will not hold back today. For the very first time, this earth will experience the full power of the Tornado of Terror. The villains are not ready to fight the secret weapon of the Hero Association. The monster of the S-Class.
A mother who fights for her child.
Tatsumaki effortlessly ripped the entire HQ off the ground, destroying the ESP blocker in the process. She then immediately grabbed every villain she felt around herself and immobilized them.
And suddenly, she felt her.
Eri's energy signature.
She felt her daughter for the first time in over four weeks. She was alive.
Tears were running down her face. Her heart felt so light right now, and her chest was filled with warmth.
But she had to stop herself. She can only rest when she has her daughter in her arms again.
So, she began to work.
/
Eri was getting nervous. Her mom still didn't show up. She really tried to be brave like her mom, but it was getting more difficult by the day. She hadn't seen her mother for so long. She just wants to see her mommy. The only good thing was that they didn't do anything to her, no blood taking, no taking her apart, nothing.
But still, she wants her mommy. She wants to wake up in her arms. It's so cold in here. Her mother's arms were so warm, always protecting her. She wants to hear her voice, calming her down. She doesn't want to be brave anymore. She wants to go home. She was brave for long enough.
She was locked in a room with no windows and cold steel walls around her. There was nothing in here except a bed and a toilet. Her toys were not present, and she couldn't even draw.
But before she could begin to cry, the door opened, and Overhaul walked inside. Eri immediately glared at him. Even if she was scared out of her mind, she couldn't show him any fear. Just a little longer. Surely, her mother just needed a little more time. She needs to stay brave. She needs to stay brave. She needs to stay brave.
She needs to stay brave.
"Stop glaring at me, you cursed child. Come, we are going to the doctor. He wants to have some of your blood." Overhaul coldly told her. Dr. Garaki just finished his work with Tomura Shigaraki and now has the time to study Eri's DNA. Sure he has the copy of her quirk, but he always prefers to look at the original.
NO
A cold shiver went down Eri's spine, and she looked at Overhaul with pure fear. Her bravery is all but gone. She backed away and crawled into the furthest corner of the room, far away from Overhaul. "NO, LEAVE ME ALONE. DON'T HURT ME!" She screamed at him in panic.
Overhaul only rolled his eyes and pressed a button to let the doctor know he could teleport them with the slime warp quirk. He slowly walked in Eri's direction.
"Tch, it looks like all your bravery and stubbornness were only for show. Be quiet and behave yourself." He was mere centimeters away from her.
Tears were running down her face. Her eyes were open wide in panic.
His hand was nearly in her face.
He got closer.
And closer.
His hand grabbed Eri by the collar when suddenly...
CRACK!
The building began to crumble around them. The walls were shaking as if an earthquake was hitting them. Overhaul still had his hand on Eri, but his eyes were wide open in fear. He knew what was happening.
"No no no no no. Why is she here? How is she here? We blocked her signal." He angrily exclaimed.
He tried to flee and took Eri with him when he was immobilized by some green energy surrounding him. It was nearly crushing him completely. Only because of his enhanced body could he withstand the pressure.
Everything around them was moved skywards. They ascended and ascended. And finally, they came face to face with Tatsumaki.
Eri immediately began to cry in relief and happiness. Her mother was here. She was finally here. She didn't need to be brave anymore. She was finally safe again. She couldn't wait to embrace her mommy and be protected again.
Tatsumaki saw Eri and smiled at her. She forced down her own tears. Now was not the time for a happy reunion. First, she needs to deal with Overhaul.
Her eyes drilled into the disgusting freak in front of her. Her tone was ice cold, with no sympathy at all.
"Prepare to die."

End of chapter 13.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
Well, next chapter we're going to see how badly Overhaul has fucked up. He will experience the full wrath of an enraged esper. He surely will have his fun.
If you're wondering how they managed to find the hospital without Kurogiri's help, they simply had more manpower. This time, Nezu worked on the case alongside Night Eye and Tsukauchi. There also was the picture of Jonny standing next to Garaki.
The next chapter will be the last one. After that, you will get an epilogue chapter. I hope you will enjoy it.
Well that's all folks. Please review. :)
Bye.
