The sun beat down mercilessly upon a single man. His jet black hair reflective of the heat, warding off the unwelcome light. The sword he was wielding, cut slashes in the air each time it was swung.

"Nine hundred and eighty one…" The man muttered.

Another swing.

"Nine hundred and eighty two…"

Sweat slowly dripped from his face, making his black hair cling to his face. The man took a few breaths, as he wiped his brow, as his breathing steadied he readied his sword for another swing.

"Nine hundred and eighty three…"

Finally, as if the gods had decided he had reached the respectable number, a breeze blew around him. Spreading the sweaty mess around, as he finally sheathed his sword. The wind was the signal that Zeus approved of the training, today's work was finished.

The man made his way back across the dimension. It was the fate's personal place, a storage unit. A place that he and the others were kept until they were called upon. That was the curse that had befallen them as soon as they accepted the man's offer.

The man reached the place he and the other's called home. A well built cabin, with finely furnished features.

Another man, this one with sandy blonde hair, light green eyes and a playful smile playing across his lips approached the first.

"Percy! You finally finished daily training? As expected." The sandy blonde hair man said, as he ran up to clap Percy on the back.

"Yeah, I finished pretty quickly. It wasn't too difficult today for some reason. Zeus took some pity on me for once. How was your training Jera?" Percy asked Jera, as the two walked back towards the cabin.

"Ahhh, well it was nice. Just basic training, I always feel like that means nothing is going to happen for a while… you know?" Jera said, his voice melancholy.

"Well… keep your hopes up." Percy said. It's true that it was lonely just the five of them. It had been a long time since they had left that enclosed prison that the Fates controlled.

"I will, don't worry. It's all we can do really, isn't it?" Jera said, as he pushed the cabin door open. Behind the door was a spacious area, filled with finely polished furniture that matched the interior design quite well.

"Is that you Percy?" A soft, sweet voice called out to the two men.

"Yeah I just got back, Isa." Percy said, as both him and Jera took their shoes off.

Isa appeared, her long, shimmering brown hair flowing behind her and she walked. Her footsteps seemed to emit zero noise as she glided across the floor.

"How was training? Jera said his training went quite well." Isa asked Percy, while flashing Jera a smile.

"He told me a bit about it. But, I think my training went well. I was saying to Jera that I think Zeus took some pity on me, and I only had to do nine hundred and eighty three swings today." Percy said as he dropped his shoes at the front door and turned to face Isa.

"Well… not sure I would call nine hundred and eighty three swings 'pity'... but glad you feel good today." Isa said, beaming back at Percy.

"I think Hestia provided something delicious- as usual" Isa continued, as she started to walk towards the dining room table. The table, that without Isa's help would have been cluttered beyond recognizability, was swept clean and already plated with utensils and more.

The three sat down at the table- two seats unoccupied; as food appeared in a flash in front of them. Numerous home cooked meals sat around them, filling the free space that the table used to have.

"Let's eat!" Jera said as he started to fill his plate, grabbing from the assortment of food laid out around the table. Percy and Isa followed suit, as they started to fill their plates as well.

As the trio continued digging into the mountain of food that had been provided for them, the front door opened once more.

"I see you guys started without me!" An annoyed voice rang out from the entrance way.

"Sorry Ansuz! It just looked too good- also looks like you were stuck training longer than we were…" Isa said in a peppy voice.

"Uh huh", Ansuz said as she rounded the corner, her black hair shimmering behind her as she continued, "oh wow, that does look seriously good."

She sat down and joined the feast as the other three inquired into her training.

"Yeah…. Well Zeus had it out for me today. I felt like it would never end. Well that must mean something big is happening out there…" Ansuz said as she dug in.

The other three fell silent, thinking about her words.

"Something big happening out there huh…" Jera said, as he thought about the potential behind those words.

"Well I'm just going to say it.", Percy said , "It would be nice to go back to the real world again. It feels like we've been here forever."

The other three nodded in agreement as they stared at their food.

"Well I guess all we can do is continue to train, yeah?" Ansuz said, as she returned to eating.

"You said it best." Isa said as she followed Ansuz lead and dug back in.

"It's only a matter of time before we head back out, don't be too worried about it- at least you weren't the last one back here… Wunjo still isn't back." Percy said as he looked at Ansuz.

"Oh yeah- I didn't even realize. Man she's been gone forever hasn't she. Zeus must have not liked the way she performed last time huh…" Ansuz said with a laugh.

"You're so mean!" Isa said as she also followed suit and laughed.

"Okay in Ansuz defense, Wunjo was just eating the whole time! I don't think they even came as backup once. So I'm slightly with Ansuz on this one." Jera said as he chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah, but you know it wouldn't be the same without her." Percy added in, a smile dancing across his lips.

"That's so true- if we didn't have a slacker, we would be unbeatable." Isa said, grinning.

The night grew longer, as the four talked and laughed with each other. Finally as dinner was coming to a close, the door opened and a sound like flying shoes could be heard, as a figure darted around the corner screaming, "JERA YOU BETTER HAVE NOT EATEN ALL THE FOOD."

Wunjo bulleted her way into the dining room, to everyone's surprise, her slightly curly red hair flowing behind her like trail.

"WOAH!" Jera said in a high pitched voice, as he bounced out of his seat, having been jump scared.

Percy pointed and laughed at Jera and said, "Look at you man!"

Both Isa and Ansuz chuckled, and Ansuz patted Jera on the back in a form of pity.

Wunjo, meanwhile, was busy stuffing her face with the last remnants of food leftover from the feast.

"Slow down Wunjo- that food is all yours." Isa said as she watched the girl continue to stuff food down her throat.

"Zeus must have made you work pretty hard if you are this hungry." Jera said, as he rubbed the back of his neck; working off the embarrassment from getting flustered over Wunjo's dramatic entrance.

"Yhabeui" Wunjo said, nodding back as she looked at Jera, her words incomprehensible, but the message clear enough.

"Well, good job today, I am sure you did just fine. After all Zeus did let you come home while the food was still warm." Jera said.

The others murmured in agreement. There had been times where the breeze never came, the end of training was never felt. Those times had been hard on them, but it had brought them close together. It had made them who they were now, the guardians of Olympus.

On Olympus

The 12 figures sat in their usual places, an oddity taking place, as silence filled the room.

Finally Zeus spoke, "Are you certain Athena?"

Athena remained silent as she thought about it for a moment longer, "Yes, there is no doubt. We must utilize them, it is the best option we have looking at the future."

Ares spoke out, "For once, I am in agreement with Athena. I know a lot about war, and this is the best strategy to victory."

The agreement between Athena and Ares, caught the other gods off-guard. It wasn't often that you saw the two war gods who valued different sides of the spectrum, in agreement.

"And how is the progression of the guardians?" Poseidon asked suddenly.

All eyes turned towards Zeus, the keeper of this information.

He paused before saying, "I have continued the training, as usual. For some it has been easier, for some it has been more challenging. Of course I am trying to hone them into the best possible weapons for our disposal."

"I see." Poseidon said in a steely tone, his thoughts flashing back to the founding of the guardians.

A moment of silence fell upon the council once more. Each god and goddess contemplating if now was the time to call on the guardians. It had been a long time- 119 years to be exact, since the last time they had appeared here. The Fates were selective about the times the guardians could interfere, even if the council gave their approval, there was no guarantee the Fates would agree.

"Well- father, shall we commence the vote?" Athena said, as she looked at Zeus.

Zeus nodded and said, "Very well. All those in Favor of activating the guardians?"

Slowly hand by hand rose, until all 12 hands were in the air. A unanimous vote. Even by mortal standards, it was rare- by Olympus standards it was unheard of.

Zeus paused for a moment, shocked at all the hands that were in the air, "uh… Ahem, right. Well with a unanimous vote, the guardians shall be released… on the Fates will."

The gods lowered their hands, silence slowly overtaking the council once more. A few minutes passed before Artemis unexpectedly spoke.

"How is Percy doing?"

Poseidon's head snapped up as Artemis voiced the same question that had been on his mind.

"Well… I believe he is doing quite well. He has completed training quite fast, especially recently." Zeus said, looking at Artemis.

Poseidon let out a sigh as he heard Zeus' words. The two brothers may fight a lot, but when it came to Percy, Poseidon trusted his word.

Artemis simply smiled and said, "Wonderful news."

"When do you think those punks will arrive?" Ares said in an excited tone.

"There is no way to know. The Fates are meticulous about these things. It could be today, or in two weeks time- or perhaps never. However… if they do arrive I forbid you from sparring with them. We don't need dead guardians by our own hands…" Zeus said, rolling his eyes.

Ares didn't respond, instead he grumbled to himself as Apollo voiced his question.

"Do you think they will be able to help us with the prophecy..?"

Artemis responded quickly, "Of course you idiot. When have they not successfully helped us? You always ask these dumb questions."

"Okay sis, relax a bit that was totally unnecessary!" Apollo said, acting hurt.

Artemis just rolled her eyes as the rest of the council watched the twins bicker.

Suddenly, Hestia spoke up, her words slicing through the bickering like it was butter, "I think we should be careful with the guardians. I have said this before, but we need to release them from their oath. We have used them for far too long and I fear something terrible might happen…"

All eyes were glued on Hestia. Her words were ominous to say the least, and presented a number of questions. What was this inclination of something terrible happening? How did Hestia know that something bad was going to happen? These questions passed through each god and goddess' minds as they silently processed what to say.

Surprisingly, the first to speak was Aphrodite.

"I understand Hestia. I understand. I just can't stand to see their love life destroyed like this! I have big plans for them… and keeping them locked up because of the past is just silly! I think that after this, we should allow them their freedom."

Artemis openly displayed her shock, her mouth open, jaw hanging. Apollo's eyebrows raced towards the top of his head, before there was nowhere left for them to go except for off and out the top of his head.

Poseidon and Hestia exchanged glances of surprise, before looking back at Aphrodite.

"Well… that was moving Aphrodite. I must say that I am in favor of your idea." Poseidon said, as he cleared his throat.

Demeter quickly seconded the motion, "I completely agree. Hestia is the reason those poor guardians have gotten any oats at all. They really should be eating more than they are given."

Slowly more of the gods and goddesses started to agree.

"Very well!", Zeus said over the chaos of conversations and shouting that was happening, "We shall release the guardians at the end of their next mission. After all so little remains after all this time, I suppose it is only right to give them what we promised so long ago."

"Indeed it is." Hestia said.

"Well… we shall see if the guardians arrive soon. I for one hope that the Fates will be lenient this time and send them sooner rather than later.", Zeus said, not responding to Hestia, "Meeting adjourned."

A few Days Later…

.

.

.

Percy had eaten dinner, bathed, said goodnight to the other guardians, and found himself laying in bed, restless. They talked about the outside world at the table again. For some reason, everyone thought that it was close, their calling once more to the world they had been forced to leave behind, only to return when things seemed at wits end.

Percy starred up into darkness of the ceiling, wondering how the world really looked. The last time he had been there everything was still drawn by horse. Nobles wandered the territory, and immigration into the United States of America was booming. Olympus had moved place to place, but in the year 1900, it happened to be in the United States.

Percy reflected back, to the last time they had been called out. He had been informed that it was against the Philippine forces, the Philippine-American War. The gods were new to America and their foundation in the land was unsteady; they felt that the minor skirmish against a rather large force of monsters may destabilize them before they were able to settle down.

It was one of the only times Percy could recall the gods admitting that they needed help to stabilize themselves.

Percy let out a long sigh, back then there had been a lot more guardians. The house they were in now was just a small section of a much larger wooden complex; that used to house more than three dozen guardians. However… defeat at the hands of monsters and themselves drove their numbers down. There were only five left now.

Perhaps Zeus would let them retire, Percy mused to himself as he lay in bed. He figured he should just forget that thought. It was Zeus after all, the king of the gods would always need someone to do his dirty work. Unfortunately for the guardians, as Percy knew well, they were the best ones suited for that job.

Percy just sighed and decided that he should just get some sleep. Tomorrow will be another day of training… just like the last 119 years had been.

Line break

.

.

A breeze. That was Percy Jackson's first thought as he slowly opened his eyes and saw the gapping blue sky stretching out above him. There's a breeze, he thought to himself.

His heart started to beat faster, if there was a breeze that could only mean one thing. He bolted upright, the blood rushing to his head, making his vision go spotty and dark for a moment. He rubbed his eyes, trying to clear his vision and then suddenly- massive towers of steel and glass appeared in front of him, towering far above what he thought was possible. The tips of the towers seemed to stretch into the kingdom of Zeus, strange moving carriage sped at impossible speeds across smoothly laid black trails.

Percy couldn't understand what he was seeing. These everyday conveniences that had existed for quite some time were foreign to the guardian who had been away for over 119 years.

Percy felt like his mind was overloading, his senses seemed to be out of control; as he tried to take in the immense amount of new information.

"Jera… JERA? ISA?" Percy called out, looking around for his fellow guardians.

He was in a forest, on a small cliff, that let him see those massive, spiraling towers.

"PERCY?" Jera shouted back, only a short distance away from the sound of it.

"COMING." Percy shouted back as he made him way further into the forest.

He stumbled upon Jera and Isa, who were crouched over an unconscious Ansuz.

"Is she okay?" Percy said, looking down at Ansuz.

"Yeah I think so, everything seems fine at least." Jera said, looking up at Percy.

"Shouldn't the gods be here or something?" Isa said, voicing her question to the group.

Percy shrugged and responded, "I dunno, you would think so though. Maybe they are coming to get us."

"Okay then we should probably just wait here… not that I know where Olympus would be anyways." Jera continued, "The world has changed a lot since we were last here…"

Percy patted him on the back saying, "Yeah man, it sure has, but we knew it was going to be different. That's just how it is for us. Don't worry you'll get used to it before you know it."

Jera gave Percy a half smile as he glanced back down at Ansuz, who was starting to wake.

A flash appeared behind Percy, out of view of the guardians, as a very recognisable voice sounded.

"Percy, Jera, Isa… and Ansuz who is asleep as usual. Cuz how you been! I missed you all!"

Percy turned around to see Apollo, one of the gods that drove him insane from time to time, but had good meaning.

"Apollo wow, long time no see man! I thought for sure you would tell Hestia to give us some new food!" Percy said as looked at Apollo with a grin.

"Yeah man, what Percy said, that stuff was getting old after 119 years of the same thing." Jera chipped in as he grinned.

"Shut up Jera, you are too picky of an eater to eat anything else." Apollo shot back, rolling his eyes.

Jera and Apollo had the best relationship with each other out of the guardians. They were true friends, while Percy and Apollo were just acquaintances.

"Well c'mon bro, are we going to the council or what?" Jera said, looking at Apollo.

"Yeah, yeah, well looks like the Fates wanted to make me run today. Anyways, I have come to bring you to the council." Apollo stated, ever so matter of factly.

"Uhh… cool, do you know when Ansuz is going to wake up, god of immaculate foresight?" Jera said, teasing evident in his tone.

"No idea. I would guess that she is going to wake up soon. But even I can't just know the future like that, c'mon now Jera." Apollo said, tutting, as he shook his head side to side.

"Alright, enough messing around before father decides I have taken too long. Grab my hands and let's go." Apollo said, suddenly serious about the whole ordeal.

Percy grabbed Apollo's left hand, while Jera grabbed his right, each respectively held onto Isa or Ansuz hands as Apollo flashed them to Mt. Olympus.

Meanwhile

.

Kai was having a bad day. A bad day was a slight understatement as to how his day was actually going. Who knew that the fountain would sweep Nancy Bobofit off her feet and into the fountain. Who knew that Mr. Brunner would toss him a pen that transformed into a sword at the same time that his math teacher, Mrs. Dodds, transformed into a hideous demon creature.

Who knew that Grover would try to lie about the whole thing, and who knew that old ladies cut string on the side of the roads now. It had been a strange day for Kai, he didn't doubt that in the slightest.

So when his mother asked him how his day went, he simply replied by saying, "Oh, nothing special."

After all the trip to Montauk Beach that he had been looking forward to so much, could potentially be in jeopardy. He would rather not substitute an amazing vacation for a psych ward stay.

Luckily it wasn't, his mother and him got in the car and fastforward a few hours later they arrived at the place in Montauk Beach. Kai felt at home, looking across the ocean, feeling the breeze blow on his face, it felt like he belonged here; with the sea.

That was until the thunder hit, and storms picked up and his best friend Grover came knocking on the door.

What the hell? Was the only thought that raced through Kai's mind as his mother whirled around to ask him what he had seen that day.

In earnest, Kai casually said, "Oh, there were these three old ladies cutting string on the roadside…"

That's when his whole world really flipped, no more vacation, no psych ward, just straight, fast, driving; almost like they were running. Running from what, or who, Kai wasn't sure. All he knew is that this storm really wasn't letting up, maybe it was connected to the dream he had been having before. It really had been a strange day. That got all the stranger as he suddenly felt his car flip and a bull-headed figure approach. He heard his mother scream that they needed to leave now, he felt himself moving, instinctively. His mother had grabbed Grover and was dragging him towards the top of a hill, where a pine tree was.

Kai grabbed his best friend's feet… or hooves… which felt normal considering the bull-headed beast that had just toppled their car. They were almost there- safety, at least that is what his mother made it out ot be.

When disaster struck, the bull-headed beast caught them. It picked up his mother who disappeared in a blinding golden light. Kai blinked, reality hitting him. Was his mother dead? Dead people didn't disappear in a flash of light… Then again a bull-headed man and a person with hooves didn't exist either.

He felt rage overtake him, and a few moments later he found that the bull-headed man had disintegrated into a pile of fine golden dust, and its horn was gripped tightly in his own hand.

Kai dragged Grover up and over the hill, past the pine tree and further into camp.

"Kai, my boy…" A familiar voice said to him. Kai turned around and saw his old teacher, Mr. Brunner, standing there, horse for a body and holding a longbow. With that Kai tipped and crashed to the ground passing out.

On Olympus

.

.

.

Apollo flashed into the great hall with the guardians behind him. At this point, Ansuz had finally come round.

The gods looked down at the guardians, who stood, relaxed, used to the stares of the powerful figures.

"So what is it this time?" Percy asked, looking at Zeus in an unbothered manner.

"You should show some respect towards your king, guardian." Zeus said in a steely tone, his eyes flashing dangerously.

"Apologies my king." Percy said in a choked voice, "After everything I am sure the king will understand his subject's lack of respect."

Zeus paused for a moment before taking a deep breath and changing the subject.

"Well… we have called you because once more, Olympus is in peril. The appearance of a sea spawn has filled the void in the prophecy. The great prophecy that is bound to rise in the near future." Zeus said in a tone of certainty.

Percy casted a glance at Athena to see if the goddess of wisdom supported the statement, a small nod confirmed she did.

"Well I will be damned.", Percy said, "I didn't expect a great prophecy."

"Nor did I." Jera said as he chuckled.

Isa shrugged, deciding it was best to not say anything at all.

"Worry not guardians.", Athena interjected, "The great prophecy spoken about is not occuring now. I am afraid there are most likely numerous other things that will come into play before the occurrence of the great prophecy. I believe the fates have brought you here earlier than we expected."

Silence spread across the room, the only sound was the crackling of the hearth, which burned softly.

"Well… we can only work so long as the fates allow… or until you release us." Ansuz said as she glowered up at Zeus.

The king of the gods stiffened for a moment before saying, "We are never sure how long the Fates will allow you to stay here before deciding you have interfered too much. However, we can't worry about those minor details. For now we need information. The first prophecy is already in progress and I suspect that this Sea spawn stole my lightning bolt." Zeus said in a serious voice, a layer of hidden rage evident behind it.

"Do not start spouting your nonsense once more brother. Continue to slander my children and I will have you see what I am capable of." Poseidon retorted, his eyes flashing dangerously as he looked at Zeus.

"Fools. Silence. This is no time to be bantering about such a trivial topic." Athena said.

"TRIVIAL? Are you calling my lightning bolt trivial dear daughter?" Zeus said, anger evident in his words.

"Nonsense father. I mean the bickering between you and Poseidon. Please assign the guardians their required tasks." Athena replied, ever cool-headed.

Zeus paused for a moment, before glancing at the guardians.

"Very well.", Zeus said as he gathered his thoughts, "guardians, beginning with the most important thing at hand. You must recover my lightning bolt, at any cost necessary."

Percy cast a glance at Jera, any cost necessary was a big thing to say, especially when it came with something to do with Poseidon.

Poseidon looked furious as Zeus explained the task to the guardians. However he knew there was nothing he could do, after all Zeus was the only one directly allowed to give orders to the guardians, that he ensured when he created the guardians all that time ago.

"Mk." Percy said, looking unbothered about the whole situation.

"Sure thing boss." Jera replied, smiling at Zeus.

"I'll see what I can do." Isa replied.

Ansuz just gave Zeus an unimpressed stare.

"All I know is that the most likely culprit is that sea spawn." Zeus said.

Poseidon simply flashed out of the council meeting, Percy assumed it was in order to calm down and keep the peace.

Percy sighed and said, "I'll look into him, you can send the others to gather more information."

"I don't know where Camp Halfblood is though. Everything looks so different since the last time I was here. I'll need some help getting around." Percy said, following up.

"I can help you in that regard." Hestia called out to Percy, smiling kindly at him.

"Thank you lady Hestia," Percy said with a smile.

The two took off towards the elevator, which was a mystical thing to Percy, as the most advanced form of uphill transport consisted of rickety wooden stairs.

Meanwhile, the other guardians gathered their instructions from Zeus, mostly pertaining to the quest that the Child of the Sea had received. The main goal was to gather information to make sure that the Sea Child was not going to hand the Lightning bolt over to any malicious targets.

Of course Zeus did admit to Jera, Isa and Ansuz that he wasn't fully sure that the Sea Child had the bolt. However, to him, it made the most logical sense that he had stolen it under his father's wish. The guardians learned that as of late, Poseidon and Zeus had been at odds, and it seemed that war was on the horizon; and that this event may be the catalyst for it to start.

.

.

.

A Few Days Earlier…

.

.

.

It had been surprising to learn that the Greek Gods were real. Or maybe it was more surprising to learn that his father was one of them; that or the fact that his best friend was part goat. Kai wasn't sure what was stranger as he adapted to camp life. His mother was nowhere to be found, nor had there been any word on her.

Chiron- the former Mr. Brunner, had told him that she was not dead. That flash of golden light was some sort of interference. After all a dead person leaves a dead body, he reasoned with himself.

Well, everything was going well, all things considered. His mom might be missing, he might be living with mythological beings, religion to him had just been confirmed, what else could possibly go wrong, he thought to himself.

That was until a few days later, when the first capture the flag game started. The pretty girl named Annabeth had stuck him by the river, only for him to get jumped by a few Ares goons. After a beating there and here, he ended up in the river, feeling stronger than ever; that sensation he felt on Montauk Beach returning to him.

A moment later and the infamous trident symbol appeared over his head. Great, he thought to himself, as if I couldn't stand out more.

Kai found himself the center of all the rumors, chaos, and talk around camp after that. Activities had been banned, and travel outside camp was strictly forbidden.

Kai sighed as he sat up in bed, his new cabin was empty- not that he minded a break from the chatter. He heard a sharp knock at his door, unexpected to say the least. He got up and opened it, and came face to face with Annabeth.

"Oh… Annabeth, hi." Kai said, finding himself fumbling around with his words.

"Hey, Chiron wants to talk to you at the big house." She said back smoothly.

"Huh? Alright then…" Kai said as he followed Annabeth out the door, and up towards the big house.

One long chat later, he found himself climbing a very rickety staircase to a very ancient looking attic. He glanced around the cluttered place, seeing the old objects littering the floor… and of course the mummy that was sitting on a stool.

Next thing he knew he was climbing down from the Attic, a prophecy assigned to him, wondering why this had happened in the first place.

Kai found himself in an interrogation, as Chiron and Annabeth peppered him with questions about the prophecy. It was just a few days later that he found himself walking out of camp for the first time since he had arrived there, Annabeth and Grover with him.

It was at that moment that a tax pulled up only a little ways from the car that the trio was about to get into. Annabeth stopped and watched the car warily, it was unlikely, but not impossible that a monster could come out of that car.

The only unconcerned one was Grover, as he seemed to go about his business ignoring the car.

.

.

.

Present

.

.

.

Percy had followed Hestia, down the Elevator- which was a terrifying machine that seemed to defy the laws of Zeus himself; to the ground below. As he walked out the front door, he was introduced to the sprawling landscape of New York City, as Hestia told him it was called.

A short ride later in something Percy learned was called a 'car', they arrived at Camp Halfblood. The Camp was upgraded from the last time Percy had seen it. He stepped out of the taxi, and caught sight of three kids, who he assumed must be demigods.

Percy turned back to look for Hestia, only to see that she had disappeared. A twinge of annoyance shot through him as he noted that there must be a reason for her to bail on him like this.

He turned back towards the demigods, the taxi driving off behind him.

"So, which way to Camp Halfblood." Percy asked point blankly.

Annabeth eyed him up and down scowling at him, "What is Camp Halfblood. I have never heard of it."

"Please. Daughter of Athena, I need to talk to a boy named Kai, son of Poseidon." Percy said, recalling the information that Zeus had given to him.

"Ah well that would be me." The boy standing next to Annabeth, said, his arm halfway in the air as if he was answering an attendance call.

"Oh perfect, let's talk for a second- I assume you are leaving on your quest right?" Percy said, looking at the obvious signs of preparation.

Annabeth just shook her head, befuddled by Kai's overly trusting instinct.

"Who are you anyways." Annabeth asked, cutting Kai off before he could start talking.

"My name is Percy Jackson, does that answer your question?" Percy said looking at the daughter of Athena.

Annabeth seemed to be in thought for a moment before shaking her head, "No, it doesn't . I don't recall your name from anywhere."

Makes sense, Percy thought to himself. In order to keep the guardians effective from the eyes of their enemies, the gods were very sure to wipe records of their achievements and great deeds; in order to make sure that the enemy was never prepared for the secret fighting force that Olympus had. For that reason, a lot of the great deeds in the past had been mislabeled or forgotten, because of the Olympian's selfish wishes.

Percy took a deep breath calming himself, as he answered Annabeth, "Well that is only natural. Chiron called me here. Good luck on your quest, you should get started. I won't hold you any longer."

With that Percy turned, ignoring the questions from the daughter of Athena as he walked up towards the hill-top were Camp Halfblood was.

End of Chapter One
