Ok so a quick author's note, this fic will have NOTHING to do with Shin Madou, save maybe a mention that The Dark Prince had a wife, and thats not a reference to the character or backstory in the book, thats just that he had a wife, she is dead, she was in Chaotic Final Exam, thats it. I hate those stupid books with every FIBER OF MY BEING so no! None of it, not a SINGLE BIT of those horrible books are canon to this unless otherwise stated! The Madou world wasn't destroyed and made into the Puyo world, that's STUPID! Madou Monogatari and Puyo Puyo exist in the same timeline. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy
It was a peaceful day. Arle and many of her friends had returned to their homeworld, The World Of Sorcery. Arle was staying with her grandmother. Currently, Arle sat on the couch, Carbuncle sleeping beside her. But, she felt bored. Something was missing.
"Arle, I'm home." Her grandma said, having left to buy food.
"Hi grandma." Arle said, not getting up.
"Oh dearie, what's wrong?" Her grandma asked, going over and sitting next to Arle.
"Nothing important." She replied, petting Carbuncle. Her grandma placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Why don't you go dungeon crawling? You always loved that." Her grandma said.
"Dungeon crawling? That's perfect! I haven't done that in ages!" Arle said, grabbing Carbuncle and waking him up. "Come on Carby!"
Her grandma chuckled. That girl was something else.
Arle asked around town about nearby dungeons. Apparently there was one in a nearby plain. That plain was where a circus happened…and a lot more. So Arle knew where it was. But this dungeon was said to contain a powerful jewel. And so Arle and Carbuncle made the trek there. Or rather, Arle warped to the nearby forest. It was a lush forest. Arle could hear the sounds of the forest, letting them fill her ears. Birds chirping, leaves rustling, etc. She took a deep breath as Carbuncle climbed onto her shoulder as they entered the plain, able to see the nearby mountains easily. It was odd, when Arle and Carbuncle were warped to Primp, Carbuncle got bigger. Yeah he still fits on her shoulder, but he's still waaaaay bigger. And her hair was turned orange for some reason. And upon returning home, these changes were not reversed. The duo spotted the dungeon pretty quickly, in the mountainside. It's entrance was a stone door, with ornate carvings all around it. And then, the two entered the dungeon. Inside, they wandered through stone halls, engravings all over the walls, before encountering a Momonga. Arle prepared to fight.
"Fiyaa!" She shouted, releasing fire from her hands at the enemy. Of course they fought back, and Arle released Ice Storm as she dodged. She didn't realize how much she MISSED battling like this! The Momonga was defeated. Arle cheered, and high fived Carbuncle. She continued throughout the maze-like dungeon. Stone walls, only told apart by the varying patterns of gems in the wall and various chests. Arle slowly walked through, taking it all in. As she wandered and defeated the enemies she encountered, she began to wonder what exactly this jewel would do. In all honesty, she didn't need a powerful gem, but it was nice to have. Maybe it would enhance her powers? Her mind continued to wander. Dungeon Crawling was natural to her, after all, she'd done it since she was 5. So it was a shock when not only was that not a thing in Primp, but that Ringo was horrified when she was told. It's normal to go into a tower and get gems to pass kindergarten! And Amitie was confused. Apparently the most she had to do was track down her teacher's cane. How is that supposed to teach you magic!? As Arle went through hallway after hallway, she found many different items, healing items, status items, armor pieces, gold etc.
It was then she heard someone coming.
"Whose there?" She asked.
"Huh? Arle? So you're here too. I can finally make you mine!" A familiar voice said.
"Schezo!" Arle said, excited to see a familiar face. The 14 year old in question appeared in front of her, with a little elephant on his shoulder. "Hehe, good to see you, pervert."
"PERVERT!? I AM NOT A PERVERT! I simply want your power!" He yelled.
"Yeah yeah, I know." Arle said.
"You mock me now, but once I have defeated you in Puyo-" Schezo was interrupted.
"Actually, can we not do a Puyo battle? Can we do a regular battle?" She asked.
"Fine by me. Once I've run you through, what's inside you will be mine!" Schezo declared, taking out the Sword Of Darkness. Arle wondered if he even heard himself speak, but readied magic.
Schezo immediately began with Areiado Special, a dark magic spell which hit Arle and did lots of damage. She got up, a bit of blood dripping.
"D-D-Diacute!" She shouted, raising her attack as Schezo ran at her with his blade. She expertly dodged each attack. She then used Bayoen, rending his heart and keeping him in place as stars surround him, hitting him.
"Tch. You haven't lost your touch." Schezo said, getting up.
"Thanks!" Arle said before unleashing Ice Storm, which was countered by a dark dragon summoned by Schezo's Sting Shade spell! The dark dragon and ice storm colliding caused an explosion. Luckily the place didn't collapse, but Arle couldn't see from the debris. From within the dust cloud, Schezo struck, slicing her with his blade as Carbuncle used his gem to shoot a laser at Schezo, knocking him against the wall! But he wasn't going down easily! He quickly used Thunderstorm, Arle struggling to dodge the electricity in this small space, but managing to, only to be hit by an Areiado, launching her back. She got up, not giving up, she used Holy Laser, countering Schezo's dark magic and launching him into a wall! Arle didn't let up, using Magic Missile and not letting him recover!
This was exhilarating! She wiped blood from her lip, and then cast Fire Storm, creating a whirlpool of flame around Schezo. Caught in it, he yelled out in pain as he was burned by the flames. But using some of his magic he broke free. Still, he was badly hurt. He launched a final Areiado Special, hitting Arle and sending her flying through several walls. The two got up. The next hit would decide the victor. Arle looked next to her and saw a spear amongst the rubble, and grabbed the weapon. Charging it with electricity, she ran at Schezo, as he ran at her with his Dark Sword charged with magic. Both seemingly sliced at the same time. Both standing, breathing heavy facing away from one another on opposite ends. And then…Schezo fell to the ground.
Carbuncle cheered as Arle jumped for joy.
"Yeah! I won!" She cheered. The little elephant poked Schezo as Arle went over and healed him.
"Well that was fun." Arle said.
"Hmpf. You have gotten stronger." Schezo admitted.
"So, I guess you're here for the jewel?" Arle asked.
"What else would I be here for?" Schezo asked as the little elephant got back on his shoulder and Carbuncle got back on Arle's.
"I mean, I'm here just for the experience. I've missed dungeon crawling." She admitted. She looked at the little elephant.
"Who is that?" She asked.
"Tenori Zoh! Isn't he just the cutest! He's adorable and strong!" Schezo said, practically squeeing over Tenori Zoh. He then stopped himself and looked at Arle who was trying not to laugh. He pointed his sword at her neck.
"You will not tell anyone about how I behaved!" He yelled.
"Yeah yeah, somehow, I don't think fawning over a cute thing is the worst thing you can do for your reputation, pervert." She said, pushing the blade down.
"Urk! W-well…Silence! I am here for the jewel, and so I will continue searching" he said, walking off.
"Aw come on, don't be like that! I'll come with you!" She said.
"If you must." He replied. So Arle followed him.
Then a Hari Senbon attacked.
"Hmpf, I do not have time for this." Schezo said and decided to leave and ran right into a wall. Arle just stared at him with an incredulous look.
"Good job, Schezo." She said sarcastically. Schezo groaned.
"If you really don't wanna fight, just watch." Arle said. She cast illusion, taking the form of a terrifying orange dragon. The Hari Senbon fled in terror.
"See? You don't need to ACK-" Arle walked right into a wall.
"What were you saying?" Schezo said smugly.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's just keep going." Arle said. "And no more running from fights!"
The duo continued through the dungeon.
"So, when did you meet the little guy?" Arle asked.
"Tenori Zoh? Ah, when I was with Witch, Incubus tried to give it to her as a gift. He was offended by my presence and we battled. And I claimed Tenori Zoh for myself!" Schezo explained.
"You were 'with' Witch?" Arle asked.
"...You know exactly what I meant!" Schezo yelled. Arle laughed.
"I'll admit, that was a bit of a stretch on my part." Arle said. Schezo groaned.
They continued through the halls, this time fighting all the enemies. Arle insisted on going through every single hall until the map was complete, which annoyed Schezo. Eventually though, they entered a room with a jewel inside. Immediately Schezo went to grab it, and then something fell from the ceiling. A griffin.
The two got ready to fight!
The beast dived at them and they jumped back. The griffin let out a screech as the teens covered their ears. It flew right at Schezo, knocking him down. Arle prepared to cast fire before being picked up and thrown by the creature!
The griffin unleashed a Sonic Boom, knocking both sides down. Arle looked at Schezo. They nodded to each other and Arle cast Bayoen~, rending the griffin's heart and paralyzing it as Schezo cast Sting Shade, summoning his draconic darkness, which engulfed the griffin. Arle cast Gaia Healing on Schezo as he cast Purifa on her. The Griffin broke free, screeching and lowering the duo's attack. It breathed out flames, just about to hit the duo when Carbuncle jumped in the way, using his laser to counter the attack! An explosion happened. The griffin flew up and dove once again.
"D-D-Diacute!" Arle cast as she jumped out of the way.
"I-I-I-Ice Storm!" She cast, as snowflakes shot out, freezing the griffin's wings.
"AREIADO SPECIAL!" Schezo yelled, holding his sword up as a sigil appeared, damaging the griffin and Schezo teleported to it, slashing with all he could.
"Tornado!" Arle cast as she twirled, creating a vortex which sucked in the griffin, winning the battle.
"We did it!" Arle cheered.
"Hmpf, did you doubt that?" Schezo asked.
"No, but now you can get that crystal!" Arle said.
Schezo climbed the stairs to where the jewel was.
But as he grabbed it, yellow sparks came out, with yellow trails flowing behind and a surge of familiar energy flowed! Schezo dropped the crystal as the swirls rushed to the ceiling, and a surge of power made a shockwave. Schezo and Arle covered themselves with their capes.
The ceiling began to crumble.
"Run!" Arle yelled, picking up Carbuncle and running with Schezo following suit. The place began to collapse as dust filled the duo's lungs. The sound of crashing parts of the dungeon was heard behind them. Arle was glad they filled out the map, as parts of the maze were being blocked out.
"Arle! This way!" Schezo shouted as the ceiling gave way, blocking their path.
"Or not!" Arle said, pulling him back as the way back also caved in! Carbuncle fired a laser through the left wall and led into another room, which they hurried through. Running with all their might, they could see the exit, they just needed to keep going as rocks from the ceiling fell on them they kept going and jumped out JUST as the cave gave way!
"Ha…ha…we're alive! Woo! That was fun!" Arle said.
"Arle. We unleashed something. That energy, it was a lot like yours…" Schezo said.
"Like mine?" Arle asked.
"It appears this outing may not be the end of this for you…" He said. Arle said nothing, resting from all of that.
"I shall return home. Farewell, Arle." Schezo said, picking up Tenori Zoh and leaving. Unaware of the true danger of what was unleashed…
Ok so for character designs, Arle has the hair of Tetris, the outfit of Yon, the headpiece of Saturn, and also the artstyle I imagine for this fic is that of the intro to Chaotic Final Exam (not the gameplay, the intro). Schezo has his Puyo Puyo 7 outfit because I love it. Also, this is taking place in a world where Arle's route of 15th Anniversary is canon so Arle and her friends travel between her world and primp a lot.
