As the afternoon dragged on and on, Susie's anticipation built inside her with each tick of the clock. The classroom activities felt unexciting compared to the prospects of their pizza party sleepover, and the thrills of what awaited them as soon as the bell rang. Beside her, Charlie could be seen scribbling furiously on their project poster, adding colorful leaves to the outer boarder, filling the cartoonish characters they had added with a light brush stroke of velvet purple. ''Have you thought about what games we're gonna start with once we get to the arcade?'' Charlie asked, glancing up from her own piece of the project, as she stared into the eyes of her friend. ''You know we can't waste a second once we get there, I'm sure the other kids have the same idea as we do.'' she said, as she returned to her art piece, replacing the purple for a bright yellow as she began filling in the inner shapes now. ''I was thinking maybe we should kick off with a classic racing game? We can see if i'm still the champ after my practice round,'' Susie smiled, her competitive spirit igniting the fuse of joy into her voice.
''Definitely! But you better step up your game, like I said earlier I've been practicing my moves!'' Charlie repeated playfully, as she nudged Susie's shoulder, turning the pink fabric of her bubblegum pink dress, as she allowed the soft fabric to brush against her fingertips. Susie's mom always had the best designs for her to try, and Susie was always up to try them on! As the minuets seemed to fly by, the long awaited ringing of the bell finally sounded, freeing the students from their classroom confines, as Charlie practically flew out of her chair, one hand pulling on her friend's before Susie had a chance to give sign her work, leaving the paper blank, as the two friends practically flew out of the classroom. Once outside of the bored elementary that was Maplewood, the vibrant colors of the autumn day greeted them, offering them a small breeze of cool air, as Susie found her father's bright face, as he tapped his foot rhythmically to a song he had playing softly on the radio. Waving to him enthusiastically, the two girls hurried over. ''Hey, princess, ready for a night of fun?'' he asked, smiling as he opened the door, Susie letting out a small bow, as she played that of a princess, as the two followed one another in getting into the car. ''Absolutely, we're going to have the best pizza sleepover ever!'' Susie exclaimed, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.
''I have to admit, princess, your mother and I were surprised when they were advising this pizza sleepover in the newspaper. We didn't think such a place would do such a thing like this? You know allow kids and their parents to stay in the restaurant over night? I mean, there aren't many places that would allow that.'' Her father said, nodding thoughtfully. ''But then again, I guess Freddy Fazebear's Pizza knows how to have fun. They do make the best pizza in town, and I've had some stinky pizza in my lifetime.''
''Right?'' Susie beamed, her mind racing with the thought of the endless games, laughter, and of course the pizza. ''Oh, and don't forget the animatronics, they're so cool! I can't wait to see them perform! Do you think Bonnie will pull some kids on stage like last time? I've been practicing my moves since last time,'' Charlie let out a soft giggle before she busted out into a move Susie wasn't quite sure counted as a dance move, as her friend thought, but she didn't have the heart to let her know that. ''I heard from Emily they have a special Halloween showing tonight. It's going to be awesome!'' As they drove, the trees lining Maplewood Street exploded in hues of red, orange, yellow, and gold, the scenery shifting into a beautiful landscape like in some famous painting. The chatter in the car created a warm atmosphere, that seemed to clash with the beautiful, uplifting, autumn landscape outside, which only made the evening that more palpable. A few minutes later, and they were pulling into the parking lot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it's brightly lit sign buzzing with cheerful invitation. Susie's heart fluttered with excitement as she stepped out of the car, her blue eyes gazing up at the towering facade of the restaurant, taking in the huge Freddy Fazbear cut out on the top, as the vibrant colors and whimsical design made it feel like they were stepping onto a movie set, the sounds of laughter and music spilling out into the parking lot from the wide open doors.
''Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!'' Susie was yelling now, as she tugged on Charlie's sleeve, then at her father's hands as she practically walked for the both of them to the front of the doors. The aroma of freshly baked pizza wafting through the door, making her stomach grumble in agreement. As the sun began to set behind their heads, the interior transformed into a vibrant wonderland. Neon lights pulsing with energy, illuminating the restaurant in a kaleidoscope of colors - from bright pinks to electric blues - creating an inviting atmosphere for the eager party-goers. Parents and kids alike poured in through the doors, many still clad in their colorful pajamas, some even sporting matching sleepover wear with their best friends. Laughter and chatter filled the air as excited children raced towards the arcade games, their eyes sparkling with joy as they set off, disappearing into the games, victory and the need for competition waving through the air, as Susie tried her best to take in everything there was to see. A giant banner stretched out across the ceiling in the main room, gleaming with the announcement of ''Pizza Sleepover Extravaganza!'' while tables were adorned with checkered tablecloths and plates piled so high, Susie could barely see the top.
In a cozy corner, a mountain of plush blankets and pillows awaited, inviting the little ones to settle in for a night filled with stories, games, and the thriller of an all-nighter at their favorite pizzeria. The warm glow of the neon lights made everything inside feel even more magical, hinting at the excitement and adventures they knew they were going to have, this was going to be a great night. ''Welcome young-ins, and father, to the great ''Pizza Sleepover extravaganza! We're so happy to see you here with us, tonight.'' said the voice of an employee, her bright hazel eyes brightening as she laid her gaze upon the two children. ''Tonight, you're in for a real treat!'' the employee continued, her smile infectious as she gestured towards a giant vibrant stage. ''We have a whole menu of fun things planned for you, feast your eyes on your all-you-can-eat pizza bar, followed by a thrilling animatronic show that will leave you wanting more.'' Susie's excitement reached a fever pitch as she tugged on her friend's arm, ''Did you hea that?! We get to eat as much pizza as we want! It's just like what we said at lunch break!'' she squealed, her eyes wide with delight.
''And then a show from the animatronics!'' Charlie added, her voice bubbling over with pure glee. '' I can't wait to see what Freddy and the gang have in store for us!'' As they stepped further into the restaurant, the atmosphere was even more electric. Kids dashing past them, adorned in a rainbow of colorful pajamas-some with cartoon characters and others with stars and white, puffy, clouds, all adding to the whimsical ambiance. The place was alive, and Susie felt a giddy rush of happiness at being surrounded by so many friends and fellow adventurers awaiting them. Suddenly, a burst of confetti erupted from the stage, showering them with shimmering pieces that sparkled under the neon lights, prompting wilds cheers from the crowd as Charlie's voice rang out through the entire pizzeria. ''Let's get this party started!''
''Okay, princess, I've given that nice employee my phone number, told her to call me if either of you wishes to come back home. I'm only one call away, and I'll be right back here to pick you up.'' said her father, as she appeared in front of Susie, who was currently trying to fetch herself a rather big slice of pepperoni pizza. ''Don't eat too much.''
''Dad, I promise I won't!'' Susie replied, mouth already full of cheesy goodness as she savored the delicious slice in her hands. The savor flavor was a delight, and she couldn't help but to savor each and every bite, even if it took her longer to eat. ''Just remember to have fun, and stay next to Charlie, stay together,'' her dad urged, a mix of concern and affection in his voice, before he gave them both a reassuring thumbs up, a small hug for his princess, even though Susie was clearly not into it, as she went back to eating her pizza - ignoring him as she barely even noticed he'd gone. Charlie was grinning ear to ear, playfully nudged Susie, whispering something against her, that sounded a lot like drinks and the show. With her dad's reminder echoing in her mind, Susie felt a mix of excitement and freedom as they explored the bustling pizzeria. As they maneuvered their way through the crowd of kids and parents, the enchanting sounds of music and chatter creating a lively backdrop, as they found a perfect table right in the front of the stage, where the animatronics would be taking center stage. Grabbing a few sodas, they settled down, their little heart pounding in their chest, as Susie tried to swallow down her adrenaline with a gulp of orange soda.
''This is going to be the best night of our lives, we'll never forget it.'' Susie declared, a wide grin plastered across her face as she glanced over to her friend, Charlie, whose eyes mimicked her own. Just then, a spotlight swept across the stage, the crowd's cheers escalating, as their conversation was drowned out by all the loud sounds. A familiar tune then began to play, and Susie's heart raced even more. The night was just getting started, but she instantly knew this was going to be one for her history book - she'd have to remember to write it down when she got home the next day.
