The giantess had disappeared by the time they reached the forest. Yet the signs of her presence were unmistakable. Giant trees that had stood for centuries had been broken and uprooted. Mangled bodies only barely recognizable as Marleyan soldiers were scattered around. And there were giant footsteps that led to the Marleyan camp. Baugi looked at Fritz nervously. "What do we do, my chief?" he asked. Fritz looked at the wreckage curiously. "Follow the footsteps" was all he said. They set out in the direction of the footsteps. On the way they saw even more corpses. Finally, they reached the camp and what they saw there was beyond their imagination.
The camp was entirely destroyed. An entire Marleyan legion lay crushed. And in the middle of the camp lay a giant corpse, emitting smoke. Fritz slowly walked towards the corpse. "My chief, don't!", cried the shaman, but Fritz didn't seem to hear him. As he walked, the flesh of the corpse seemed to disappear in smoke. Suddenly a blonde girl seemed to fall out of the corpse. She had strange markings around her eyes. She weakly looked at Fritz before fainting. Fritz and her companions stood there shocked. The shaman was the first to recover. " Kill her, she is a witch" he shouted. The warriors unsheathed their swords and moved to kill her. Just as they were going to bring their swords down on her neck. Fritz was the first to recover. "Stop it" he shouted. The shaman tried to argue "My lord she has evil powers" he said. Fritz was unmoved "That's enough out of you" he growled. He turned to his men. "Take her back to camp". The soldiers hesitated. "Did I stutter?" he asked. The soldiers did not move and looked at each other. Fritz looked at them with exasperation before picking up the girl himself. He noted she was unusually warm. He set out in the direction of camp. Baugi followed him."The shaman will not be happy" he noted. Fritz did not reply. Baugi looked at him. Baugi looked at him. "Why did you save her?"he asked. Fritz sighed. "I cannot say truly. But when she looked at me, I saw so much pain in her eyes. I couldn't let her die." Baugi snickered "I didn't know you had a heart." Fritz scowled "That is not the only reason. She could also be a valuable ally against the Marleyans. After all, she destroyed an entire legion." He looked up at the sky. "All these years, we have been tormented by the Marleyans. I think the gods have finally heard our prayers. This girl here will be the key to our victory, I know it."
