Chapter 293

Wo Fat had put a lot of thought into this cruise. He had picked the ship specifically by name, he had them aboard the Disney Dream. He had told her, once they were unpacked and she was itching to look around and get her bearings, that he had picked this ship because he was making her Disney Dreams come true. That had won him a large smile, a bit of laughter, and a hug that was a bit too long for his liking but he endured.

Once they were both unpacked Wo Fat had joined Rowan in her room, to hand her the itinerary of things that he had scheduled. A royal tea with a princess of her choice, obviously Ariel. This was supposed to be for children only, but Wo Fat had complained. Loudly. The Disney people didn't like it when their passengers made a scene and they were quick to placate him. In the end he ended up having to pay double to get Rowan her own tea experience. But Rowan loved Afternoon tea experiences so it was worth both the money and the hassle to see her happily sitting at a table surrounded by Disney princesses and afternoon tea.

He had standing reservations at almost all of the restaurants for all of their meals. Such as the Animator's Palate, Palo, Cabanas, Remy, Flo's Café, Enchanted Garden, the Royal Palace and Preludes. That did not include all the dessert places he knew that he would have to go to with her, like Frozone Treats, Eye scream Treats and Vanellope's Sweets and Treats.

Then there were the shows. They were there for five nights and there were four shows that he had booked. Like the Disney's Believe, Twice Charmed, The Golden Mickeys and Tangled: The Musical. Then on their second last night on the cruise, and what would be the last night they shared together, the fourth night, he had booked an experience he paid dearly for. A dance in the ballroom set to the Beauty and Beast song. He had taught her how to waltz, they had waltzed all around Europe, so she'll be okay. Then of course, after the shows and dinner there were the clubs, like Evolution Promenade Lounge and the Vista Café.

During their downtime there was a fitness center for him, and pools to lounge by and spa treatments for her to get. So, there was no end of activities to keep her entertained.

Rowan took the itinerary in with surprise. "You really jam packed it for me," she had said. And that was true, but that was because knew how she liked to be kept busy and he wanted to keep her happy. Also, since he was anticipating giving her back to McGarrett and not being able to see her for a while, he wanted to spend all the time he could with her.

But then she had asked him about the new identity. Yes, he had been forced to make a new identity. It was the whole reason why he had been forced to put her in a safe house in Cape Canaveral in the first place. When he helped that British Spy of Rowan's with a little nuclear issue, he had let it slip that McGarrett had just learned all about Rory Wickerby.

He couldn't travel with her, without jumping, with Steve knowing about Rowan's new alias. So he took her underground and changed their travel documents and their check in information so he wouldn't be able to find her. He had used one of his older aliases that Steven probably wouldn't be looking for and changed her name entirely.

But he couldn't tell her that Steve was still searching for her, because then she'd want to know why. And Wo Fat couldn't keep telling her that Steve was after him because sooner or later she'd realize that Steven didn't care about Wo Fat that much. Instead he had told her that the Rory Wickerby alias he had given her had been flagged by several agencies, such as the Phoenix Foundation and MI6 and he gave her a new identity to get the heat off of her.

Rowan had taken that in stride and then booked herself a whole spa regimen. Massage, a blow out for her hair, and a mani-pedi. This gave time for Wo Fat to call Conejo and see how he was. He had gone to Hawaii only to find that Steven was gone, of course he was the asshole was in Prague.

However, for the first day on the cruise he was back in Hawaii, just sitting in his house listening to Rowan's different songs. Conejo was almost certain that the man had managed to get all her singles from Pete Ganbarg. He would know for certain if the man ever left his house long enough for Conejo to break in, but if he knew Rowan was selling singles again, he might try to trace her through the bank accounts.

God this was really getting messy. If this didn't work out, and they ended up keeping Rowan, they'd have to come up with some other way for Rowan to sell her singles. Because he'd probably go straight back to Pete the second he lost Rowan a second time.

With the check up done and out of the way, Wo Fat went to the gym facilities to work out the frustration and tension that had built up. That tension was only going to get worse as they steadfast grew closer to the moment where he would have to tell his sister what he had done.

After they were done with their things, they met back at their suites. Wo Fat obviously changing into his dining attire much quicker than Rowan, he now sat on her bed, as she paced around the cabin behind him, trying to find a dress she wanted wear, as she wore nothing but towel.

For safety, Wo Fat had his back to her and would refuse to turn around until he was certain she was properly clothed.

"So… are we heading home once we get to Bahamas?" she asked absently.

"No," he answered quickly. "I have us booked for uh… two weeks in a Marriot resort in Paradise Island…"

"Oh!" she suddenly cried cutting him off. "Do you mean Atlantis?"

"Yes, that would be the place…" Rowan squealed loudly and he avoided the urge to cover his ears. It had cost him a pretty penny too get them in there, but her bucket list had been very specific. "I've paid for the all-inclusive package for us. That is important seeing how much Con eats."

"Is he going to meet us there?"

"He's going to be picking you up from the Castaway Cay."

"Really? Aren't you going to be with me?"

"No, I'll be leaving the night before, I uh… I'm expecting some resistance when going through TSA this time around, so I'll be meeting you at the hotel."

Rowan hmmed behind him and then said: "What do you think?"

She was in a little high low Satin twill hunter green cocktail dress. The high-low wasn't that noticeable, but she had capped sleeves and little spaghetti straps and a space between them for her bare shoulders to poke out of. She was wearing a pair of her red bottom heels, the ones with the crystals on the stiletto. Blown out hair meant she looked like her hair was windswept already. She could have done that by standing on the prow of the boat, instead she spent 100 real dollars on getting it professionally done. It looked marvelous on her.

And around her neck was the title piece she had stolen from Harry Winston.

No one had better realize that was what it was, or they'd be fucking screwed.

"You look lovely, as usual," he said finally standing. "What about me? No wrinkles or creases?"

Rowan crossed to him, looking him up and down in his navy-blue suit. He didn't really wear it often because it reminded her of Steven and how much she liked him in his navy-blue suit, but they were on the water and he felt like being cliché. She straightened his tie for him, fixed his cufflinks and then smoothed out his jacket.

"Looking pretty cute," she said sweetly. "Like, if you weren't my brother, I'd make a move."

"Ew, don't make it weird Ro," he said. "You ready for dinner?"

She nodded happily and he ushered her out of her cabin. He was expecting to put up with a lot on this particular trip, he wasn't Disney's biggest fan, but Rowan was just so damn excited he couldn't help but feel the emotion creep up on him. Like her excitement was infectious.

Rowan exhausted. She had never been that person that just wants to sit on a beach and tan, but she had been doing so much the past couple of days that she found that all she wanted to do was sit in a beach chair by the pool and not do anything.

She had seen two shows, they had reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and on top of that there were activities. And they were wonderful. A snorkeling trip. Afternoon tea with Ariel. Parasailing. They had all been fun and that wasn't the problem, but it was just so much one thing after another.

So, on her third day of the trip, after finishing with Parasailing, she decided she would spend the time between then and dinner by sitting in the sun with a book.

But she was only out there for thirty minutes when she felt someone hovering over her. Rowan looked up from her book and found Captain Johnny smiling down at her from behind a pair of tinted black aviators. He was definitely older than her, there was a salt and pepper look about the stubble defining his jawline. He was taller than her, and about as skinny as Wo Fat was. His shoulders were broad, his chest was barrel-like but he wore that white captain's suit with the gold decals and buttons very well.

"How are you enjoying the Serenity Deck, Miss. Bastian?"

The Serenity deck was an adult only area, it was quieter and kid free. So, she was obviously enjoying it. But she had a feeling she knew why Captain Johnny was hovering over her at that moment. She closed her book deftly, arranged herself a little bit more seductively on her beach chair before responding.

"I'm enjoying it, though if I must be honest, I am a trifle bit bored."

She fiddled with the straps of her navy blue, strapy bikini in a way that made his eyes flicker down to her cleavage. Usually she was a little more self conscious of her scars but today she found she didn't quite care, and though she couldn't see Captain Johnny's eye's she knew he didn't quite care either.

Is there something you would rather be doing?"

Yeah. Hell yeah. It had been a long while since she had slept with someone, and she was getting dangerously close to sleeping with Con again. Something she said she wouldn't do anymore. They had done so well at not caving to those desires, she would have hated to have ruined their run. But it would make things easier for her if she could get it out of her system, with literally anyone else.

"That depends," she replied with a sultry tone.

"Oh, on what?"

"On how long your break is."

Captain Johnny hit her with a large cocky grin and that was when she found out that his breaks were as long as he wanted them to be.

Unfortunately for Rowan, once Captain Johnny was inside her, she realized that what she really wanted, was someone to make out with.

But there was nothing she could do about it now. All she could do now, was fake her enjoyment and wait for him to be done.

The problem was, they were in her cabin, which meant she'd have to kick him out and she really didn't like that part. That was what she had always liked about Conejo, he always did that part for her, sometimes before she even woke up. Though this time, she figured she wouldn't be fucked comatose like she had some of the other times.

It wasn't that Captain Johnny was bad, at best he was average, the problem lay in herself. She was used to magic and passion, she was used to masterful strokes and a sinful tongue. She was used to Steven, and for some reason, though she hadn't been with him in almost a full year, her body seemed to remember the echoes of him and nothing had been matching up to those memories anymore.

But she was lucky, because she didn't have to worry about how long she would have to continue to fake it. Captain Johnny jerked and cried out above her before collapsing to the bed. Alright so that was him done. Good.

She waited quietly until she was certain his breathing had leveled out, then she carefully slipped out from under him and out of the bed. She tiptoed around until she could find her bikini and clothes to slip over top of it before she picked up her book and left the room. She didn't feel much like tanning anymore so she went to Wo Fat's room and let herself in.

She could hear the shower going in his washroom so that meant he was back from his workout. She figured she'd just sit on the bed and read her book while she waited for him to get out. He was in the shower for maybe another five minutes before he came out, the white towel around his waist. He started when he spotted her, but Rowan kept her nose in her book.

"Jesus Ro, why are you in my room? I could have come out of that shower butt naked, then what?" Wo Fat cried. Rowan gestured to the book she was clearly more interested in and heard Wo Fat scoff. "You could have easily not had the book. It's like you're trying to get a peak at my junk."

"Wo, not to damage your ego, but if I was really all that interested in your junk I would have found a way to get a look at it long before now," she droned and she swore she could feel the scowl penetrate her through the book. "But to answer your earlier question, I have a guest in my room and I'm waiting for him to leave."

Wo Fat had been in the process of rooting through his clothes to pick his outfit for their dinner but when she dropped that announcement, he stopped what he was doing, straightened and then turned back to her.

"Excuse me?"

Rowan, sighing, put her book down and turned to her brother who was apparently set on drip drying all over his suite. "I slept with Captain Johnny, I didn't feel much like seeing him after so I snuck out and I'm waiting for him to leave." Wo Fat continued to stare at her, confusion clearly written all over his features. "I'm struggling to find what you're confused about."

"I'm struggling to understand how you ended up sleeping with him if I've barely seen you interact with him."

"He approached me at the pool. He was flirtatious, we went back to my suite, simple."

Wo Fat shook his head and turned back to his clothes. He picked his shirt, his pants and his boxers and then headed back to the washroom no doubt to change there.

"I swear you used to have standards, I'd love to know what happened there. You know… you could wait, right? You could pick more suitable mates…"

"I don't want more suitable mates. I want Steven."

The washroom door had been partway closed but at that it opened again and once again she had a mostly naked Wo Fat in front of her. There was pity in his eyes and she hated that.

"Spare the lecture," she said before he could say anything. "I know he's married. I know he didn't pick me and it can never happen but… I don't know, sometimes I think that I'll never find someone that I'll love even remotely close to the way I loved him."

Wo Fat took that in and then said carefully: "It might be easier if you stopped comparing everyone to him. Or if you stopped dating carbon-copies of him." Rowan looked up to him shocked and he smiled proudly at her. "You didn't think I'd notice that, did you? That all your guys were almost exactly like him, either in shape, looks or job."

Rowan lowered her eyes from him and he finally shut the door so he could change. "I thought I was coping, getting myself over him by being with other people but… I don't think I'll ever get over him. I loved him a little too much to really ever get over him. I just wish that… you know… he had loved me too."

Wo Fat came out of the washroom in his black dress pants and his dress shirt still unbuttoned. The towel lay abandoned in the washroom and that's what she focused on as he came back to her, sitting on the bed by her feet.

She felt an awful lot like crying and Wo Fat hated it when she cried. "I can't pretend to know what I'm talking about, but I can say that it will get better. One day you're going to find someone who is going to love you the way you deserve and you'll forget all about Steven McGarrett."

Rowan smiled at him but looked away so he wouldn't see the one tear that escaped her eyes. He put a hand to her foot and squeezed so she'd look back at him.

"Or I can fly down to Hawaii and widow him, huh? What do you say? Maybe then he'll come crawling back to you, huh?"

Rowan laughed, it would take nothing to kill Catherine. Conejo was home doing nothing they could send him. But she wasn't like Wo Fat and Conejo so it had never occurred to her to ask them to do that for, and it was why she wasn't going to let them.

"Thank you for the offer, but it's not the best idea," she said and he smiled at her and went back to getting dressed.

"You know we have dinner in forty-five minutes. I'm only reminding you because it takes you almost an hour to get ready."

"I can't go back in there until Captain Johnny leaves."

Wo Fat sighed and turned his back on her. "I told you when we got on this ship that there was no way that I'd be kicking your lovers out of bed. That was Conejo's job not mine. You are just going to have to man up and do it yourself."

Rowan grimaced and lounged back on his bed. "Naw, I'd rather just wait until he leaves."

"We'll miss our reservation, Ro," he growled. When she didn't say anything, he turned around a dark glare on his face as she smiled prettily at him.

Wo Fat sighed aggressive and then stalked towards his door. He was gone for three minutes and in those three minutes he apparently picked Captain Johnny up off her bed and actually tossed him out of her room and into the hallway.

But thankfully for him, they made their reservation.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

On the fourth day on the boat, Wo Fat had only scheduled one activity and it was to happen later that night. After dinner, however, instead of taking her back to their rooms, he took her to the Disney Princess Experience.

That was when she found out that he had booked a Princess make over for her, a Prince make over for him, and the entire ballroom for the activity.

It was her bucket list request. A Beauty and the Beast Waltz on the cruise ship.

It was something she would have rather done with Steven, but Wo Fat would be a good enough replacement.

Wo Fat had already picked the princess that she was going to be, which was Ariel of course, so she had hoped he had picked Prince Eric for his prince make over or this was going to look silly. It was a little strange to be back in the Ariel costume when her hair was brown and not red, but she had always loved Ariel best and that wasn't about to change just because her hair had.

She slipped into Ariel's pink dress with ease, let them do up her hair and make up and then met Wo Fat in the ballroom, where he was, delightfully dress up in Eric's white and blue suit, he even had the boots.

He smiled happily at her, offered her a hand that she took without saying a word and as he led her out onto the ballroom floor just as the music started.

I found a love for me. Darling, just dive right in, and follow my lead. Well, I found a girl, beautiful and sweet. I never knew you were the someone waiting for me.

This was a song she had written so long ago, when she was still with Steven, but pretending to like Alex. She had written that song in the McGarrett house, thinking of Steven, originally in her voice, but when she sold it the pronouns had been changed around. It was a good song for waltzing. So, it was no wonder why Wo Fat picked that one.

Wo Fat took her through the turns of the waltz beautifully and she did her job to ensure that she didn't step on his toes. But as the music continued and spun her around the room, she found herself immensely grateful for the family that she had. She didn't quite deserve to have a brother as loving and kind as the one she had found.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

For the day and a half between sleeping with him and that day, Captain Johnny appeared at various times in the day. Popping up at breakfast to ask how they were finding things. Finding Rowan in line at Vanellope's Sweets and giving her ice cream suggestion. Finding her in Evolution and asking her for a dance.

Granted there were limited places to run and hide on a cruise ship but it was obviously getting to be quite annoying for Rowan. She tired to wave it off as if she were fine but with each appearance, she got more and more flustered. So, when they were heading to the Serenity deck and he spotted Captain Johnny slowly creeping up behind them he had decided that enough was enough.

This was his last day on the ship. Later that night he'd be disembarking onto a secondary ship that would take him to another ship that would then smuggle him into Bahamas, hopefully before Rowan and Conejo got back to the Atlantis resort. He wasn't about to leave her unattended on that ship with that man still hovering around her. No matter how little time he was actually leaving her unattended.

Yeah, he wasn't going to deal with this anymore.

Wo Fat ushered Rowan into the Serenity Deck, feigning a need to smoke and then turned and ducked into a service hallway. You know, one of those little hallways only for staff, probably led down into the boiler areas of the ship.

Four seconds later Captain Johnny walked past and Wo Fat reached out and grabbed him. He got the man into the hallway with him and then shoved him up against the wall.

"You are disastrously close to going missing, my man," Wo Fat growled and behind those tinted aviator sunglasses his eyes widened. "I've been a lot nicer than necessary, but I'm going to get decidedly nasty if you don't stop following my sister."

"I'm…"

"Don't bother lying to me," Wo Fat growled and the man fell silent. "I don't care what you want, or what you think is happening, she's done with you. There are plenty of eligible women on this boat that you can fawn over, pick one of them from now on, you understand?"

Captain Johnny nodded his head and Wo Fat let him go. Wo Fat smoothed out the polo he was wearing, put his own glasses back onto his face and smiled at the man who seemed very shocked by the sudden turn of events.

"Enjoy the rest of the day Captain," he said saluting him, mostly a mocking gesture and then he left him there.

Captain Johnny, however, was shaking. First with fear, but once he had started to walk away, the further he got away from that little hallway he had been accosted in and the man who had done it, he started shaking in anger.

How dare that man do that to him? On his own ship no less. He was in charge here, not the brother of Rosie Bastian who, sure they shared the same last name but they looked nothing alike. He had been certain, the second he clapped eyes on that marred face he a feeling the man was dangerous, but now, now he was certain he was a criminal and that if they looked him up, he wouldn't exist, or… he'd have warrants out for him.

When he got back to the bridge, he looked over the messages that had been incoming and remembered the one he had gotten yesterday morning. Some cop in Hawaii looking for information on one of their passengers. He knew exactly who he was looking for the second the message had come in, but Rosie was disembarking tomorrow morning and he hadn't wanted anything to happen to her.

Well… that was before.

The man had called back that morning, said that they had found the guest and was certain that she was on his ship. They wanted to know the name of the woman travelling with Anthony Bastian and well… Johnny could hardly say no to the cops, right? Even if they were in Hawaii and had no jurisdiction on this boat.

So he picked up the phone and decided if Rosie's brother wanted to play hardball, well he could play hardball too. The man picked up on the first ring.

"Hello, my name is John, Captain John Spatas of the Disney Dream. Is this Commander Steven McGarrett?
