A/N: Well my wonderful readers, I missed an update. I'm so sorry but I've been having a hard time writing recently, and not just Rewrite either. I've been having a hard time writing everything! Plus I couldn't figure out how I wanted this set of chapters to end. I think I've got it now though, I think I have the rest of the season figured out too. Oh do we have some cute things coming. But for right now, enjoy the chaos that Rowan and Steve are creating in Colombia. Don't forget to leave a review and I'll see you guys on Friday.

Chapter 354

Steve had left Rowan and Nahele in the careful care of Armando Diaz, who had the audacity to show up to the Morales house with fleet of cars filled with people, that was specifically not for Steven to use. Even after he explained the plan, even after he told Rowan to tell him to give him what he needed, Armando specifically would not let Steve take any of the reinforcements or weapons that he had brought with him.

When Rowan asked him why he was being difficult Armando said that the reinforcements were not there to help Steven, they were there to ensure Rowan and Nahele's safety. He then pointedly asked Steve if he planned on bringing Rowan and Nahele with him on this op which, of course, Steve wasn't going to do.

He wasn't even mad after that. If all of this was for Rowan and Nahele's safety than he was fine with doing this without any assistance from Wo Fat's connections.

Steve had called Danny and Grover back to the house so they could get prepared to go through with Steve's plan. Chin and Kono were already ready to go but Armando hadn't given them the intel yet. He did, however, manage to pin point one precinct in particular, just not the name of who they were looking for.

He had floor plans and security access cards though, so that would be helpful. They didn't need to worry about security, Sandy had already worked her way into every camera within a ten-mile radius of that precinct, no one would ever know they were there.

They still just needed that name.

Armando told them to head down in their little van and all their gear, with their ski masks and badly thought out plan, while he worked on getting them the name they needed.

That left them all sitting in a plateless nondescript van across from a Colombia precinct waiting for the intel to move.

"I'm just gonna say this for the record. I don't know what Max is pulling down, but whatever it is, he deserves a raise," Grover said breaking the silence as the other sat in the back and Steve sat in the driver's seat, staring at his phone willing it to give him all that he needed to know.

Why was it taking so long? Things like this never took so long before. Was this seriously just because he was asking?

Steve had gotten the play-by-play from Danny about having to reburn a burnt corpse and then scrape the first layer of skin away to get at a tattoo so Max could get them an ID. Danny had been livid to find out that Rowan had already figured out who was behind all this just in all the chaos around finding out Rowan had shown up with their kid in tow, Steve had forgotten to call them and tell them that.

Danny was still mad at him. In fact, Steve was certain that he had inadvertently given Danny enough ammo to bitch for the next three months.

"You're not still nauseous, are you?" Chin asked from the back where he was wedged between Danny and Kono.

"He couldn't possibly have anything left in him," Danny snapped back.

"Oh, okay. At least I didn't keep my eyes closed the whole time," Grover cried.

Steve couldn't help but laugh, thinking about Danny, eyes closed trying to scrape of burnt flesh. He could imagine all the grimaces his friend had probably made. It was funny to picture.

"What are you laughing at? Huh? Your wife showed up, was here for five minutes and got more work done then all five of us combined in six hours. She made us all redundant."

Steve frowned, finally stopped chuckling and struggled not to let the truth sting. She really had done more in five minutes than they had managed to get done in all their time in Colombia. But to be fair, they were afraid of her here, not Steve.

"I gotta tell you, of all the stupid, dumb, ignorant, dangerous ideas you had, this is definitely the dumbest."

"Is that right?" Steve asked drily.

"Yes. We should be escorting Rowan into that building and letting her do all the talking. They'd probably throw the money at her to get her away from them and you know it."

"Something's going on that she won't tell me about. Both her and Sin Nombre freaked out when they found out who was behind this," Steve reminded him.

"It's true, I've never seen Rowan look afraid before. Even Sin Nombre looked upset. Something's going on with this Diego person, because both of them knew him and neither were happy that he was involved. Not even Armando is happy about this."

Wo Fat had sent him a string of texts, no doubt after Sin Nombre or Armando confirmed who was behind the kidnapping, stating that Rowan could not be put anywhere near Diego. Under any circumstances. Even Wo Fat was afraid of this person, so what the hell?

"Okay, fine. So, where's your wife Steven? Where do you think she really is right now?"

"Back at the Morales where she said she'd stay."

"Yeah and you're sure your wife is back at that house?"

"Yeah…"

"Really? Rowan, with all her connections and power here, is just going to sit back and let us crash through everything like a bull in a china shop?"

"She said she'd stay…"

"ROWAN LIES!" Danny snapped and Steve shook his head, that was true but more was at stake here than usual. Rowan was reckless but she wouldn't put their son in danger. Besides, Danny was just sore because Steve was laughing at him and Grover over what they went through with that body.

A text came in from Armando, with a request to call Ramirez, turned out the dirty cop was on his payroll not Armando's. But, and Steve was guessing here, Ramirez was going to cooperate better now that Armando and Rowan were fully involved.

Steve pulled out his phone and made the phone call, waiting for the man to pick up. Which he sure did take his sweet time doing.

"Ramirez."

"It's McGarrett, apparently you have intel for me."

For a second Ramirez was quiet and then he said: "I love order."

Okay and what did that have to do with anything? Unless that was the name of the guy they were looking for, he wasn't sure why he needed to know this right now?

"I like things in the right place because order is predictable. You get to make plans, know your future. Mess and anarchy are bad for business, bad for life. You… are like this Commander. You and your wife and her friends. You are chaos. All chaos"

Wow. It was like getting a lecture from Danny.

"You really should meet my partner, you guys'd get along great."

"I would like very much to see you and your wife back on your little island. As it stands, I'm planning a very long vacation. Not going to come back until whatever chaos she stirs up dies down. Last time she was here shaking things around it took a year to get this city back into a workable state. Luckily I'm prepared for…"

Steve shook his head this needed to stop. "Look, you got a name for me or what?"

And he did.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

The five people in Kevlar and black ski masks burst into that precinct with guns ready demanding all in Spanish to put their hands where they could see them. Words that both Armando and Sin Nombre had taught them all before they headed out.

Steve got up onto a desk so he could have a better view of everyone and to bark his orders.

"Everyone in the corner, right now!"

And then he let his team figure out which corner to put people into.

Once everyone was corralled, he called out the name of the person he was looking for.

"Detective Quintanilla?"

The man came out of the back arms up but didn't look scared. He just looked at them like he was bored and said: "Yes?"

Steve got off of that desk and up in his face right away. Well, the gun went into his face.

"Where's the money you took from Jorge Morales?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," he said to Steve but he was lying.

"You sure about that?" Steve asked as he advanced on him.

"Guns… don't scare me."

Yeah, well Steve was going to have to give him something to be scared of then. The plan was to get the keys to holding and then put him into the cells with the people they had arrested. They'd tear a good cop apart in seconds it would be worse for a dirty cop who probably turned on all of them.

But Steve didn't get to that point yet, because behind them a door opened and then stilettos were heard on the floor. Clacking against the linoleum ominously as if counting down to their doom.

Steve turned to watch his wife turn the corner and come down the hallway. She was in a pair of her signature red bottoms heals on. She was in a burgundy pant suit with a black silky blouse. The pants went down to her ankles, the sleeves also cut short. Her hair was pin straight, she was wearing her cat eye sunglasses and her hands were patiently clasped in front of her as she walked towards them.

Behind her was Sin Nombre, weapons holstered onto his back. Black leather jacket and jean combo with that white rabbit mask on his face.

She walked into that room, looked around at Steve and his team and then carefully took her glasses off and handed them to Sin Nombre who put them in his pocket.

"Hello!" she cried her eyes darting over each of their faces before lingering on Steve and their apparently unscared detective. Steve glanced to him to see that he had gone a little green under his tanned skin as his wide eyes bore into Rowan. "Oh look at this, isn't this interesting. It seems we've interrupted something."

She took another step forward and then smiled that wild, Ice Queen grin and for a second, he was almost glad that the crazy Rowan had shown up for this. They definitely needed her. But also, if she was here, and not where he had left her, then where the hell was their kid?

"I'll make this quick then. I'm look for Detective Quintanilla, I have an important matter to speak with him about."

He looked from Steve to Rowan and then back to Steve. "Uh… I'm… I'm Detective Quintanilla…"

Rowan clapped her hands giddily ad almost bounced. "Oh wonderful, definitely an easy person to find."

She walked over to them quickly seemingly ignoring Steve Hello, do you know who I am?"

"You're Rowan Pierce."

"Very good. I love it when I don't have to make an introduction. And I trust you know why I'm here?" He glanced to Steve. "They're not with me, but I'm sure we have the same objective. Armando said his man would call."

"Uh… I… I've clearly been distracted…"

Rowan glanced up to Steve as if noticing him and his gun for the first time. "Oh I see. Well would you and your men mind standing down until my business with him is done?"

Steve stared at her, so she was really going to play this like she didn't know him? Alright.

"I too am here for something."

"I'm sure you are," she said. "But as I mentioned this matter is urgent, and I'm sure I can make it worth your while."

"Or I can shoot him" Came from Sin Nombre and Steve almost shot him a scowl. Why did that man always offer to shoot him? Him and Wo Fat are the same. Always trying to kill him.

"He won't talk, but go ahead."

Rowan smiled happily and then turned it back to him. "I'm assuming Raphael Ramirez called you."

"Uh…."

"And that he told you to hand over the money you stole from the Moraleses?"

"I haven't… I don't know…"

His eyes were darting around to his coworkers who obviously didn't know he was dirty. Rowan's eyes narrowed, the look of her darkening. No longer was she playing nice at being nice. She was going to destroy them.

"We all know that the reason you know me by looks alone is because you're dirty. Armando confirmed it. And I'm here, because you have something that now belongs to me. So. You can hand me over what rightfully belongs to me, or I'm going to let the bunny have some fun."

Behind her Sin Nombre pulled out a machete and then carefully began to sharpen it. His eyes never leaving Quintanilla's face.

The man looked from her to Sin Nombre and then said: "Uh… let me get it…"

"I want the tapes," Chin said pushing past the two of them and getting into Quintanilla's face.

"Okay apparently I want tapes too," she said and then leant in to Chin and said: "What tapes are you looking for."

"The wire taps on Jorge Morales."

"Oh, dead end, they're actually good people. Armando checked," Rowan said. "But by all means hand us over those tapes."

A light died in Chin's eyes but Rowan was in Ice Queen mode and hadn't noticed.

Quintanilla stopped what he was doing and stared at them. "I thought that… that you weren't…"

"What? Them? I don't know them, but I just snatched a lot of money out of their hands, if I can help them get something maybe they won't attack me on the way out."

"Wouldn't be advisable to do that," Sin Nombre said pinning a dangerous look onto Steve. As if Steve would actually jump his own wife outside this precinct.

"The wire taps should be just fine," he said and then Rowan turned to Quintanilla and snapped her fingers at him.

"Money. Tapes. Now."

It took a couple minutes but it worked. He returned with a USB drive and a bag of money. The USB went to Chin the money went to Rowan who just looked at the offered bag like it was dirt and then snapped her fingers.

Sin Nombre took it right away.

"Thank you for your cooperation. I'll be sure to put in a good word for you the next time you fuck up and they're calling for your blood," she said as if that were a normal thing to say to anyone.

She snapped her fingers again and that time Sin Nombre handed her the sunglasses.

"Now who's going to forget I was here?" she asked the office full of people as she put the sunglasses onto her face and all of them exchanged glances. "I didn't hear you!"

"We are!" came from almost everyone in that room.

"Wonderful. And thank you to all of you for your cooperation and you will all be paid for this inconvenience."

They got street level, and though they should have run, but Steve didn't want to let Rowan out of his sight. He grabbed onto Rowan the second they were outside.

"Where the hell is our kid?" he hissed.

Rowan turned a patient look to him. "In the car. He's got a shaved ice, the AC and his music playing he's fine."

She pointed off to the distance where a black Audi was sitting surrounded by men in black suits with high powered guns. The windows were so tinted that Steve couldn't see in side but he figured that Rowan wasn't lying about their kid being in there. Yeah, like that was conspicuous.

"I swear to god Rowan…"

"Oh calm yourself, no one got hurt."

"My sanity and patience are both hurting, Rowan."

She turned back to him, and he saw that the ice in her eyes had not melted yet. She put the money into his hand and said: "In a country like this one, it doesn't matter how it gets done, just that it does," she whispered. "And unlike you, I know how to speak their language."

Yes. That was true and, once again, he was starting to wish she wasn't as bilingual as she seemed to be.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

It was a trap.

Steve, his team and Jorge Morales walked into a trap.

A trap that Rowan clearly knew about because when Diego's men came in shoot circling their parked cars, a completely different caravan of cars came from the other side to shoot Diego's men back.

Kono had stayed behind. Mainly because Steve no longer trusted Rowan to be alone with peole she could easily control but also because Chin wanted her to go over the tapes that Quintanilla had given them. It was her who confirmed, just before the cars had all shown up, that the Moraleses and the kidnappers had contact, that they had told them to lure Five-0 down to Colombia. Then it was just shooting and chaos until Armando's men came plowing in to stop them

Except, and this was very important here, they had killed all of Diego's men, and they hadn't brought Sara to the drop.

So, they didn't have Sara, they still had the money, but the Moraleses had turned on them.

Steve had stormed back to the Morales' house livid. He found Armando standing in the living room with Maria a sobbing wreck beside him.

"Alright. Tell them what you did."

Maria continued to cry but Armando was getting annoyed. "You have five seconds or I call the Rabbit back in here. He doesn't do kids but he don't give a shit about women."

"Does he know you called him the Rabbit?" Danny asked and Armando glared at him.

"No, and no one's going to tell him cause I'm pretty sure the only one who can, is Rowan," he said.

Nahele came out into the room, and Steve gestured for him immediately. He went over to hug his dad and that was supposed to be in but Steve wouldn't let go.

Maria finally managed to compose herself and then said: "After Sara was taken, they called me. They told me to get a hold of you, Chin, to get Five-0 down here. They said if I mentioned this to anyone, Jorge, the police, they would kill Sara. What choice did I have?"

When Chin would only glare at her, she sobbed out: "I'm sorry!" but he didn't listen, he stormed through the kitchen and then out.

"Dad," Nahele whined in his arms but Steve still couldn't let go. All of this was upsetting him. Sara wasn't taken over money she was taken because of Five-0. How many bad guys out there would think to do the same to Nahele? God, he didn't even know how bad it would be if it was him in Chin's position.

For starters, Wo Fat would be in this house, right away.

"Seriously dad, let go," Nahele said more sternly this time, but he still wouldn't let go of him.

"Just let me have this for a bit," he whispered. Nahele sighed but stopped struggling. Steve let him turn in his grasp so his back was to him and then together the two leaned. Steve against the wall, Nahele against him.

That done, Steve turned his eyes to Armando. "So is this about Rowan or…"

"Chatter says it's about you guys. Something about a man in a warehouse going down a couple of months ago? Guy jumping out of a plane, a mission amount in the millions?"

"Yeah, we know about that… we were heavily involved in that whole take down."

"Man was Diego's brother," Armando explained and they all stared at him. That was oddly suspicious, because Rowan had very heavily been involved int hat too. In fact, if she knew that man was Diego's brother it would explain why she pulled Wo Fat in to deal with him.

"So… this sounds an awful lot like we should just let you and her take over at this point. Because… at this rate we're never going to get Sara back alive," he said and then angled his head down to look at his kid. "Where's your mom?"

"She's tired, time change, she went to bed."

Oh that was odd, but probably true, she did have a pretty hectic day and she probably hadn't gotten any sleep since the night before. "And your Uncle Con?"

"Perimeter check," Nahele answered.

"He's always doing perimeter checks," Kono said. "Does one every fifteen to thirty minutes."

So he was worried about something. That didn't bode well. "Right, well, how about we come up with a plan and when those two are ready we'll get them in on it?" Steve said and Armando nodded.

There was something about that patient smile on the man's face that made Steve nervous, but Armando hadn't ever let him down before, so he was willing to let it slide… for now.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Chin had left them for one reason and one reason only. And that was to call the kidnappers.

This wasn't about Rowan, this wasn't about money, this was about Five-0. This was a grudge match with Five-0 and his poor Sara had gotten mixed up in it.

He had been so deadest against the Morales but it wasn't there fault, they weren't the danger to Sara, he was.

So, he took Maria's phone and called back the unknown number that the kidnappers had called her on. He explained who he was and that they could have him in return for Sara, and they were surprisingly hesitant but agreed. They told him what to do and where to go, and then they hung up the phone.

Chin was already mentally preparing himself to go to his death, and to steal Jorge's car to do it when Rowan appeared, dropping off of the roof of the gazebo he had been standing in.

She was no longer in the pant suit but in something a little more casual. Red converse, black leggings and chucky knit sweater. She turned to him as if she hadn't just appeared out of no where, very much like Steve was accustomed to doing.

"So. You called him. Not smart," she said. "Did he accept your offer?"

It occurred to Chin to ask her why she had been hiding up there, but if she knew that he called Diego then he knew why she was up there. "Uh… Yeah…"

"Hmm… really not smart. I just told him Five-0 is mine."

Chin narrowed his eyes. Why didn't she sound surprised? "You knew this was coming."

"I knew the real reason he wanted to do this was Five-0, not the money. I was giving him the opportunity to change his fate. Poor bastard, now he has to die."

Once again, Chin's eyes narrowed. Something was off, he had a feeling that this was about something else, otherwise how else would Rowan have known about this and then not have told them? Probably because Steve could usually tell when she was lying.

But he didn't have time for that right now.

"Sounds like you have a plan."

"Yes. Yes I do."

Chin did not like the ice that was in her eyes but if it got back Sara, then he'd look the other way.
