A/N: Hello my Wonderful readers and Happy Wednesday. I missed two chapters this week, not gonna lie, I have a shit excuse. I got so into this other story I'm writing (a stringaverse story actually) that I completely neglected all my other stories. Which is a shame because this chapter is really, really funny! So. I'm sorry for missing two updates. I'd like to say that I'm going to have the next update up on time but I'm super distracted as of late so I most likely will not. Bear with me. I'm hoping in the new year I'll be more scheduled. Friday you're getting another special surprise, and I hope to have a chapter for you too! As always don't forget to review and I'll see you guys soon!

Chapter 375

Because Steve had turned Sandy off… before he got help, and because the sat phone at the site had gotten shot and Steve and Danny both no longer had service because… again… Steve had shut Sandy down, they had no choice but to drive through the jungle.

In a shitty truck.

With a dirty bomb strapped to the back that was made out of TATP which was the most unstable explosive on the planet, with a Uranium kick.

Danny was certain they were going to die, but Steve was certain they'd be fine. Why? Because if he wasn't Ro's strings would have warned him by now. That was how that worked. There had been nothing from Rowan before this. No warnings, not even a whisper, they'd be fine.

Danny had reminded him that they had lied to Rowan. Rowan had no idea that the uranium was on the island. Rowan's visions had been acting weird. She was getting things late, or all at once.

It was entirely possible that she just didn't know, hadn't thought to look at Steve's strings.

Which was a lie, Rowan was always looking at his strings. She always went through everyone's strings, just to see, she'd say. Just to make sure death wasn't looming on the horizon.

The strings didn't change because Rowan didn't know something.

If it was in the strings for them to blow up, then she would have said something by now.

And Danny had to concede that was true and finally dropped that line of complaint.

Now they were driving at a snail's pace through the jungle.

They had already had to stop the car to fix the gas line because a bullet must have nicked it. Steve did that was fucking fire and a floor mat. How they didn't explode was still beyond Danny's realm of comprehension.

Now they were moving again and Danny was still getting antsy.

"Okay, easy. Easy, Easy…"

He was saying it softly, but Steve heard him anyway.

"Alright!" he suddenly barked. "You know what? You saying easy, easy, easy every five minutes is not helping, helping, helping, you understand that?"

"Alright. I just wanna make sure that you don't go over a ditch or a rock and I end up in a bunch of pieces, okay?"

He had been using a very low voice as if he was worried the sound vibrations of the yelling he wanted to unleash onto Steve would set off the bomb.

"You know what's gonna say on my tombstone?"

"Yeah, I do. It's gonna say: Here lies Danny Williams, beloved curmudgeon."

"That's funny. No, it's gonna say: Here lies Danny Williams, we think. We're not really sure because we did not find all of him."

"Danny, I'm keeping it under eight miles an hour here, alright?"

"It's not a school zone. I'm not worried about getting a ticket."

"Dude, if I go any slower, inertia is not gonna be on our side and these bumps are gonna get a whole lot worse, and you know what that means, okay? And if I don't maintain this speed, we're not gonna make it to the clearing in time. Now, how are we doing on bars?"

Danny huffed, looked down at his phone and then said: "Do you not think that if I had bars, I would inform you of that, huh? Do you not think that that's what I would do?"

Danny kept talking to him even though Steve was talking over him. "You know what? You know what, we need to stop. We need to calm down, we need to talk about something else to distract ourselves. That's what we need to do."

"Oh, I couldn't imagine what you wanna talk about."

Sarcasm, because Danny knew exactly what Steve was going to bring up.

"Actually, you know what? Just explain something to me, alright? You've never mentioned retirement ever, ever, ever since I've known you." Ding, ding, ding, Danny was right. "Now it's lists and it's plans and restaurants. You know, why, why? Where's it coming from?"

"I told you, I am coming up on 20 years…" "—So what?" "…so what?"

"So what? Doesn't mean you have to retire. It's not mandatory! Why's it on the table?"

"Okay. Grace got an assignment at school, alright. Her guidance counsellor told her to write a list of all the things she would like to do in life and then she should pursue one of them. So it got me thinking, right? Then I decided to make my own list. And as i made my own list, I started to think some more and I started to think about Charlie."

"What about Charlie?"

"Well, the guy thinks that I am a superhero, okay? And that I am indestructible," Danny cried, finally raising his voice. "Guess what, I'm not indestructible, but he doesn't know that yet. Soon he will know that just like Grace found out, right? And he's gonna get worried. Every time I put my gun in my belt, he's gonna be worried about me. And I can save him from that worry if I retire, okay? Your father was a cop. You got worried about him, right? And what about Nahele?"

Yes, what about Nahele.

Poor Nahele was worried about everything.

About Rowan running off. About Steve's job. About Rowan's powers. About Steve's habit to get pulled into crimes whether he's on the job or not.

"Not that any of that matters right now, cause we're in the middle of the jungle with no service and a dirty bomb primed to explode. And on top of that my cell is dying. Mine's at thirty percent. What about yours?"

Steve didn't even both looking at his phone. "We got a big problem," he said frowning at something through the windshield.

They had come across a river and Danny realized that Steve was going to make them do something even stupider.

Rowan could have easily used Sandy to clean up this mess.

Hell, Rowan could have called Hirsch.

But she was going to prove both to herself and to her boys that she could do this. That she could clean up a puddle of blood without vomiting.

Well, she wasn't going to tell them she vomited twice, she was just going to say she did it.

She had started with the easy stuff, she wiped down all the bloody handprints Sang Min had left everywhere.

And when that was done, she returned to the kitchen. The blood in the kitchen had congealed into some sticky dark red mess. It looked like red-food coloring.

She was never going to use red-food coloring again.

She was gathering up the courage to face it herself when her phone rang. Rowan answered it right away.

"Hey."

"Hey, I've got a problem," her brother said. That was all her brother ever said to her. Problems, problems, problems. Well, right now she'd take any distraction.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"I'm having a problem with my route to Hawaii…"

"You don't have a route to Hawaii anymore. It was part of the agreement when I came back."

Wo paused for a second and then said: "About that…" great, so another thing he had lied about. She had to stop being surprised when that man lied to her. "I never shut the route down, but I don't transpo anything dangerous on it. It's just drugs now."

Yeah like that made it better.

"Look can you help me or not?"

"Sure, is this a throw or a pull…"

"I want you to pull me," he said. "And uh… could you come with me? I might need the shields."

Oh! Really? No one ever asked her to come on dangerous things anymore! This was so exciting!

"Okay, just uh, just give me a second!"

She then hung up the phone and moved out of the kitchen.

She'd clean that later. Or maybe she'd get one of Wo Fat's guys to do it for her. Yeah that was probably a better idea.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Sang Min had gotten Abati on the Island so Sang Min was going to get him off.

He had stolen a cop car, and killed the cop attached to it, to find him. And then he went to the motel he was staying at, bashed the door in and convinced him to help him. And by convince, he actually just put a gun in his face.

That had Sang Min agreeing to help pretty quick.

Abati had let him make a few calls and now they were heading to wherever they needed to go to get him off the island.

If Sang Min did good, Abati wouldn't kill him, but the man was hella annoying so he was probably just gonna shoot him when he was done.

Just to make sure he didn't tell anyone where Abati was going. And a little bit to shut him up.

Sang Min had taken him to a dock. And he was pointing at a boat that had to be used for fishing. The place was dead, not a single soul around. Already Abati was suspicious.

"That's your ride, man. We take that to Hawaii Island and you got a, you know, you got the jump seat on a cargo plane to Asia."

"It's always this quiet around here, man?"

Sang Min winced but he was walking ahead of Abati so he shouldn't have noticed. Was sorta pissed he noticed that this place was empty.

Time to lie as convincingly as he could.

"Oh, you know, that's, uh, that's why I picked it, you know." God he hoped he knew. "You're trying to keep a low profile, right?"

Sang Min turned around to smile, to reassure him, but Abati pulled his gun.

"Come out. Come out right now or I kill him!"

Sang Min yelped and whirled around, but there was no movements. Oh! These assholes better come out! Seeing as they got him in a hostage situation now.

Chin and Grover came out, but Spicy wasn't with them. Oh that meant she was doing the sharp shooting thing.

"Five-0! Abati, drop the weapon! Drop the weapon!"

"Come any closer, I'll kill him," Abati warned.

"Then kill him," Grover bluffed. "We're not gonna stand down for a convicted felon."

Sang Min was immediately upset. "Huh? I thought we were ohana!"

Damn didn't he know that they were bluffing?

Kono was very much somewhere high with her sniper rifle waiting for Sang Min to move out of her shot so she can shoot Abati in the head.

And it was her who spotted him first.

We got movement on the boat. The one on the right. Is that…

And it was.

It was Sin Nombre.

He was on the boat beside Abati and Sang Min, though slightly behind so Abati didn't see him coming. He wasn't wearing his mask, he didn't have a weapon in his hand, but there was something on his face they had never seen before.

In fact, they were all certain that this was the face he made when he wore that mask. That ferocious deadly determination was what he had been hiding with that white bunny mask of his.

They all just sort of paused and watched him. Trying to be covert as the man, who was dripping wet, made his way over the bow of the boat, his eyes on Abati and Abati alone.

Where the hell had he come from?

There was no pause, it was like the man was on autopilot. Like a lion hunting on the Serengeti, he was moving in for the kill.

With a sudden roar, he launched himself off of that boat and into Abati, taking him down instantly.

"Fucking shoot my mami, huh? What you thought I wouldn't fucking find you? Huh?"

Rowan got shot? What? When?

Abati threw Sin Nombre off of him, but it didn't last long. He got half up, he tried to reach for that gun and Sin Nombre tackled him right back to the ground again. They wrestled a bit and then Sin Nombre took the back of his head and bashed him face first into the dock.

And they all winced when he did it.

"I'm gonna make it hurt so bad death will be a relief!" he shouted.

Holy shit. This wasn't his regular assassin mode. He wasn't even smooth and calm like he usually was, this was something else.

Sin Nombre rolled him over and then got on top of him, he had his hands in his. "Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself."

Wow. He was going full angry toddler on this man. Chin and Grover exchanged glances what… what were they were supposed to do? Rowan was the only one that Sin Nombre listened to and she wasn't there.

"What are you doing?"

Sin Nombre stopped and looked up. Both Rowan and Wo were standing above him looking down at him. Sin Nombre took her in and all that anger just deflated out of him.

Well fuck, where had they come from? Well thank god they had because that was the only way to get Sin Nombre to stop.

Sin Nombre, who was basically just sitting atop of Abati, keeping his hands pinned to his chest so he couldn't get away from him, just stared at them.

He looked her up and down and then his eyes narrowed at her. "You look awfully okay for a girl who got shot this morning…"

"Shot? Who told you I got shot?"

Sin Nombre turned his eyes to Wo. "And what the hell is with you? Why would you keep something like that from me? She's my sister too, you don't think I would have liked to know that?"

Wo Fat was giving him the universal hand signal to shut up and at first Chin thought that he hadn't got it but… "Don't tell me to shut up! You shouldn't keep things like her getting shot from me!"

Right so he was just ignoring it.

"Oh my god! What are you talking about? I wasn't shot!"

Sin Nombre turned back to her. "You weren't shot?"

"No!" Rowan cried and then she pointed to Sang Min who was rounding Abati and Sin Nombre eyeing Wo Fat. "See he was, he's got the sling."

"Ah," Sin Nombre said. "Yeah, I don't give a rats ass about him."

And then he just got up off of Abati like that. But when the man went to move, Sin Nombre kicked him, straight to the face and knocked him back down.

"Was that really necessary?" she asked him but Sin Nombre just shrugged. Obviously in his mind it was.

"Hey there, Boss Man!" Sang Min cried trying to move in to hug Wo Fat. "Not gonna lie, I'm super glad to see you…"

But Wo Fat put a hand to Sang Min's face and just shoved him away from him. "Stay away from me!"

"He doesn't like physical contact," Rowan said to him but Sang Min just shot her a scowl.

"He lets you physically contact him."

"Yeah, but I'm his sister," Rowan said.

"Why he talk like that?" Sin Nombre asked and Wo Fat just shrugged.

"I unno, he's been like that ever since I met him."

"You know, now that you're here… and McGarrett ain't around, you wanna… babysit me while they make sure this criminal is locked behind bars."

Sin Nombre blinked his eyes. "You saw me take down that man, right?" he asked him. "Cause I don't care if you've got a bullet wound I will fuck you up you don't stop talking to my mami like that."

"It's fine," Rowan said with a wave of her hand. "He's always like that." She then turned back to Sang Min. "No I will not be babysitting your greasy ass, and you better hope I don't tell Steve you said that to me." Sang Min made some disappointed kind of noise and then Rowan turned to Sin Nombre. "And what is going on with you? Why are you wet?"

"Cause I had to sneak around to get to the mother fucker, so I swam it."

"You?" Rowan echoed. "You who hates the water? You swam it?"

"I needed the element of surprise. I thought he shot you, I was gonna make him fucking hurt."

Rowan shook her head. "Okay. Who told you I was shot?"

"McGarrett did," Sin Nombre said and behind him Wo Fat was making the shut up motion again. "What? Why do you keep telling me to shut up?"

Rowan had a narrowed look about her and Chin and Grover had caught on right away to why Wo Fat was trying to get Sin Nombre to shut up.

Rowan didn't know about the Uranium. Rowan didn't know where Steve was. But clearly, Sin Nombre and Wo Fat did, which was a little annoying because Steve hadn't contacted his team. Why had he only called Wo Fat?

"Steven? Steven's on a case. When did you even see him?"

"This afternoon. He was up at that terrorist camp," he said and then he turned to Wo. "He left with the uranium by the way, probably not gonna get it back from him."

"Wait the what?" Rowan cried. Then she turned to Wo. "What does he mean Uranium?"

Wo Fat was shaking his head, but Sin Nombre said: "Well I was up in this terrorist camp cause Wo found his missing Uranium and I was supposed to sit on it until Wo found a way to get it off island then McGarrett showed up…"

Rowan turned to Wo Fat, her angry glare boring into him as he just stood there staring back at her with a grimace on his face.

"You said that you stole the Uranium back," Rowan growled.

"Oh!" Sin Nombre cried. "Right! Rowan doesn't know that the Uranium was missing and I wasn't supposed to tell her, that's why you were telling me shut up!" he then put a hand to Wo's shoulder. "Man I'm sorry… but uh… this doesn't really concern me so I'mma…"

And then he just slipped away leaving Wo Fat to bear the brunt of Rowan's rage.

"Wo!" she growled and he put a hand out to her.

"Now Rowan… I can explain!"

"Alright," she said, leaning back on her heels with her arms crossed over her chest. "Explain then."

Wo Fat blinked his eyes, stared at her for a moment and then just bolted. Turned around and ran.

Rowan's mouth dropped in shock. "Wo!" she called but he got up onto that fishing boat clearly with the intent to run from her. "Wo Fucking Fat, you get back here right this instant!"

But he didn't. He kept running.

Wo Fat was actually running from Rowan Pierce. Chin and Grover was slack jaw just watching it happen.

Am I seeing Wo Fat run away from Rowan?

That was Kono, talking to them from her crows' nest, and both Chin and Grover were too shocked to say anything.

Rowan followed after Wo and when he realized he had no where to go, the man actually hopped up onto the railing with the clear plan to dive off the side.

But come on, the man was in a nice suit. Granted he wasn't wearing the blazer, but he had the white button up and grey slacks. Even the nice shoes.

They probably cost more then Chin and Grover's outfits put together, so getting them wet would have been a no go, but there he was, about to dive into the ocean to get away from his sister.

And then he did it. Actually dove right off the edge, but Rowan wasn't gonna let him go that easily.

She shot her hand forward and right under Wo popped a portal that he dropped into. She then turned shot her hand forward once more and he popped out, landing face first onto the dock.

"Oh!" Both Chin, Grover and Sin Nombre cried as he hit the ground.

Even Rowan winced realizing what she had done.

"Oh! Wo!" Rowan cried rushing to him as he rolled over off of his front groaning. "I'm sorry, I should have waited for you to hit the water… wait a second… no I'm not! No I am, I am sorry, but I'm still mad at you!"

Wo just glared at her and then coughed. "I could have broken my neck."

"I mean, god knows why you tried to run from a girl that has portal powers…"

"Shut up Con!" Wo and Rowan shouted together and the man backed away with his arms raised.

Wo half propped himself up and glared at her. "That was totally uncalled for…" he started but then she smacked his shoulder and silenced him.

"Wo! You lied to me… again! Why would you lie to me?"

"Because Uranium is unstable, Rowan, and neither McGarrett or I wanted you messing with it. You know with your powers. Which you would have if you knew it was on the island."

"Yes! Of course, I would! Because that guy blows Steve up with it!" Rowan shouted.

"Well, we can't have that," Sin Nombre said and then just turned around and shot the unconscious Abati right in the head.

Rowan jumped, Wo Fat moved as if to shield her, Chin and Grover jumped too.

And from their earpieces they heard Kono say: Oh shit!

With his hands on Rowan's shoulder to shield her from the blood, Wo Fat turned to Sin Nombre

"Why did you do that?" Wo asked. "He's already made the bomb."

"Right," Sin Nombre said and then winced. "My bad."

Rowan put her hands to her head. "Oh god. Oh god. Oh god!"

"Come on Rowan, it's not that bad. That bomb wasn't armed…"

"Yes it was," Sin Nombre said. "It's coming back to me now. It's armed and had an hour to go. I got so distracted about Ro and her getting shot and me getting vengeance that I left McGarrett and his little blonde chipmunk partner of his with a bomb. Wow I really do get tunnel vision."

When he looked up again Rowan was glaring at him.

"I swear. I swear you're trying to kill my husband."

Sin Nombre didn't argue though. He just shrugged with a passive meh like, sure, it wasn't his real goal, but he wouldn't be too upset if it happened.

While the trio argued, Chin answered his phone, not surprised to hear McGarrett on the other end talking about a dirty bomb and how they needed Abati, and Chin had to say: "We have him Steve but Abati is dead."

"Is that Steve?" Rowan asked and on the phone Steve asked: "Is that Ro? Why is she there?"

"Her whole family is here."

"Give me the phone," Rowan demanded moving towards him.

"Goddamn it, he was supposed to distract her," Steve snapped. "Tell her it's okay. I can't talk, but it's okay. Tell her not to call me, tell her not to jump. Tell Wo not to let her go into the void. I gotta go."

Then before Rowan could get to him Steve had hung up.

"Sorry," Chin said. "Uh… he hung up, he said that he uhm… he's got a plan and he'll be okay. He says to stay here with us, and he'll call us when he's got this done. Don't void to him."

"Don't void to him," she scoffed. "Yeah, so he can blow himself up? I don't think so."

Before she could say anything else, before she could even pop a portal, Wo Fat had closed the distance between them, a hand reaching out for her.

"No," Wo Fat said, his hand gripping her arm. There was a sort of fizzle and Rowan just stood there. Her eyebrows crinkled, her mouth dropped in shock. She turned back to Wo Fat, staring at him like he had just betrayed her.

"Did you just shut me off?"

Wo Fat took her in, cleared his throat and then said: "I wasn't sure I could do it but uh… I'm guessing if you're still here that yes, yes I did shut you off."

"Are you kidding me right now? You pulled a Steven?" she said and then looked down to where his hand was resting. "Let go of me. Let go right now."

"Rowan, he was very clear, he doesn't want you anywhere near this dirty bomb," Wo said. "And neither do I. No one wants you anywhere near this dirty bomb!"

"Let me go right this instant."

"No Rowan. It's not safe."

"Oh, but it's perfectly fine for him to be in danger?"

"Yes, because I don't care about him," Wo thundered and Rowan stopped shocked. "You are my priority. You are my sister. I put up with that disaster of a man because of you, and you alone. You married the idiot, you brought him into our lives, and now I have to deal with it. So yes, if that idiot wants to stay in an Hawaiian jungle with a dirty bomb that's probably gonna blow up in his face, then that his is prerogative, and I am not, do you understand me, I'm not going to let you anywhere near that situation."

"But I don't want him to blow up!" Rowan screeched but Wo Fat's face stayed the same.

"We both know he's not going to blow up," he said. "Let's be honest here. I've been trying to kill him for years and nothing has stuck. Ever. Even before you showed up. The bastard has horseshoes up his ass. He will be completely fine, because while he's lucky, I am not."

And then there was the bang.

It shook them, even though it was far off. Wo Fat grabbed Rowan and crushed her to his chest, as if that would save her from everything.

They all turned where they could see the mushroom clouds over the trees.

And Wo Fat could no longer keep Rowan on that dock.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Steve had crashed their truck.

Before that, Steve had been forced to remove the radium from the special lead line packaging in order to turn this dirty bomb into a regular old bomb. This involved him sending Danny away, and strapping the car battery to himself as a sort of protection against radiation. A DIY hazmat suit, the only option he had as he only have 5 minutes let to do what he had to do.

Then they got the Uranium back in its safe container. Got the bomb off the truck and tried to drive away.

Except Steve knew that they weren't gonna be able to make it, so he had to do something to give them cover, something to protect them.

So, he crashed the truck.

Danny was not impressed. He had the Uranium in his goddamn lap, that was it. it was Official. Steve was trying to kill him.

And even after Danny had apologized for keeping his retirement plans from Steve.

The undeserving, stupid bastard.

Once the truck started rocking Danny cried: "Are you crazy?"

The answer was yes, yes Steve was crazy, and while Danny had always known Steve's craziness was going take him down with him one day, he didn't think it would be like this.

Together he and Steve kicked out the windshield, Steve climbed out first and then offered a hand to Danny.

Danny, who was all curled up by that point, didn't want to move.

"What the hell is the matter with you?"

"Get out of the truck and get behind the engine block. Let's go." Then as Danny was climbing out, he said: "Grab the canister."

Danny knew what was going on now. Steve knew they weren't going to be able to outrun the blast. So he tipped the car over purposely so they'd have something solid to protect them from the blast.

"Danny?" Steve asked as Danny took that canister of radioactive material and put it into his lap.

"What?"

"If you open that restaurant, I want you to seriously consider calling it "Steve's" please," he said, which was stupid, because they were together and if the bomb went off and killed one of them it was going to kill them both. Because they were right beside one another.

Also Steve's was a stupid name for anything let alone a restaurant.

"Steve's," he echoed. Nope saying it out loud didn't make it sound better either.

"Yes. Because then, if we're not together, we're still… you know, we're still gonna… we're gonna be together still," Steve said and Danny nodded.

"Right got it."

"And Ro could take Nahele there when she misses me…"

Also stupid, cause if Steve died, Wo Fat would have Rowan off island ASAP. It would be: Steve's funeral, bam, Ro and Nahele gone. Wo Fat would have had her open a portal to wherever that safe house was and that was it. She'd be gone.

"Very sentimental."

They were quiet a bit, waiting for the explosion but it hadn't happened yet.

"So, we're good on the name?"

And then there was the explosion.

The blast sent them flying and when it was finally done they were lying in the grass, arms over their head. Both of them had ringing ears but they were clearly alive.

"Danny, you alright" Steve said. He had to be shouting to have been heard over the ringing.

"Yeah," he said, also sure he was screaming back.

Steve must not have heard him. "Huh? Where's the canister man?"

Yeah, like that was what was important right now.

"I… listen, I'm not gonna retire any time soon, but if I do, I can't name the restaurant "Steve's"."

"The restaurant?"

"Yes, the restaurant, Steve's."

But Steve misunderstood. He started laughing. "Yes!" he cried as he fell over in his excitement.

"No. What?"

Steve then got himself back up, groaning as he put a hand to his ear, proving that he did have the ringing too. "Hey. It means a lot to me, man."

"No. I can't…"

"I can't hear anything," Steve shouted to which Danny shouted back: "I can't hear anything either!"

Then a shadow came over him. Danny looked up and Rowan was standing above him glaring down at him and behind her was Wo Fat.

"Yes!" Wo Fat cried, snatching the Uranium out of Dany's hands. He then glanced to Rowan who was scowling at him and he added: "Oh and yay, they're okay too."

Rowan walked past him to Steven who turned a giant grin up to his wife's scowling face. "Hey babe!" he was still shouting. "Guess what! Danny's going to name his restaurant after me!"

Her nose scrunched up at him, and that glare darkened.

"You're an idiot!" She must have shouted that at him because he heard it and Danny heard it too. Then she looked to Danny and then to Wo. "You're all idiots!"

She stormed away from them and Steve's eyes crinkled around the edges in confusion.

"Wait… babe… where are you going?"

"Yeah uh… Rowan you kinda brought me here…"

Rowan turned back around stormed towards them. She got to Wo, did a sort of throwing motion with her hand and the uranium in Wo Fat's hands disappeared.

"Wha?! NO!" he shouted.

"Now neither of you get it!" she shouted at them. "Take the long way back!"

And then she walked away and into the portal leaving them all behind.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Steve could have been home in a matter of seconds, but Rowan had left them behind, so not only had Steve had to call to get a helicopter to bring them back from the jungle, he had to take Wo Fat with him.

All three men were pretty annoyed that Steve's wife had left them in the jungle, but they had all lied to her.

Well, not Danny, he kept reminding them, Steve and Wo did this to themselves and he got lumped in with them.

Steve got him and Wo Fat home, the two of them had not said a single to one another. Except for Wo sighing: "Twice. Stupid Uranium. Twice. I've lost it twice."

Wow, he was taking this harder than Steve figured he would. Maybe he should ask Rowan if she could get it out of the void. It sounded like the man really needed a win.

Still, he got them to his house, and they went inside, and were immediately greeted with chaos.

More importantly, Nahele screaming at Rowan.

"No! No! Cause you lie! You always lie! Tell me the truth!"

"Jesus," Steve said shutting the door behind Wo Fat. "What the hell is going on in here? What did she do?"

And then his son was rushing towards him, screaming: "Dad!"

He was crying, like ugly crying, and when he got to Steve he just hugged him. Crushed himself right into Steve's chest. Steve accepted the hug and then looked to his wife who was wincing at them.

"Oh now I'm cool enough to be around you?" he asked and then Nahele turned that tear stained face up to him and his heart melted, why was his kid still crying? "Hey? What's wrong?"

"I came home and there was blood everywhere, and I didn't know where mom was and then she came home with Uncle Con, but she wouldn't tell me where you were. And a bomb went off. And I didn't know where you were, and you weren't answering the phone and she kept saying that you were fine but…"

That would be because his phone was dead, and he was travelling back from the jungle at the time.

Steve turned a scowl onto Rowan. "Really? You didn't clean up the blood?"

"I got half way through it and then Wo called and he needed fake help and then I asked him to get a cleaning service and I guess we forgot."

"Oh don't you lie, you hadn't even touched it," Wo said accepting a brief hug from Nahele who only half let go of Steve to hug him. "I got here and you were gagging at the sight of it. And I did call someone, lord knows why they didn't come."

He shook his head at the two siblings and then turned back to his kid. "I'm fine, see? I'm fine, it wasn't anyone in the family who got shot."

"I'm fine too," Wo Fat added and Nahele half smiled. He then turned to Rowan. "And I'm a little pissed off you left me in the jungle."

"Bite me," Rowan snapped and Wo Fat just huffed and shook his head.

"Can you send me home please?"

"No," Rowan said. "Take the long way. Traitor!"

"Rowan!" he cried as she stormed up the stairs. "Be reasonable, Rowan!"

But she didn't come back down. "Great, I'm stuck here."

Wo threw himself down to the couch, clearly planning to crash with them until Rowan relented and then Nahele looked up to Steve.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry about this morning…"

"Naw, it's cool. I get it. Being dropped off by the parent isn't cool. Thought I was cool, you know, cause of the gun and the badge and…"

"No, that's not it. You are cool, I'm not embarrassed of you," he said.

"Then what the hell Nahele?" Steve found himself crying. "Rowan kisses you in front of your friends and she's not banned!"

"Well… she's banned from school fundraisers…"

That was true but not what Steve meant and his kid knew it.

"Okay Nahele…" he started but Nahele interrupted.

Firstly by finally letting go of Steve and secondly by wincing.

"Okay, so like… it cause of the girls, particularly the seniors," he said and Steve's eyes narrowed. "Every time you drop me off at school they all swarm me asking about you and… you know… it's annoying. Cause they're not interested in me, and they go on about how hot you are, and they ask if you're my dad for like reals, and if you're single, or if you're gonna stay with mom cause she's crazy and they'd be interested and like…"

Steve glanced at Wo Fat who was on that couch staring at him.

"Obviously the answers to all of that is no, I'm not single, I'm not gonna leave your mom, and who cares if I'm your real dad or not?"

"That's not the point," Nahele said. "I just, today, I wasn't in a good mood and I didn't feel like dealing with them, so I asked you to drop me off. And… I thought that was the last thing I said to you, that our last interaction was me trying to get rid of you before the lolos at school saw you and… and…"

"Hey, hey, hey," he said grabbing Nahele by the shoulders. "Kid, it's fine. I wasn't mad… that mad… but like, now that I know it's not cause your embarrassed of me, I totally get it. And I'm fine. As I keep telling you, I'm fine. Sang Min was shot and was bleeding in our kitchen, that's all."

"I don't know who that is," Nahele said absently and from the couch Wo Fat said: "I call him Chicken Head."

Steve blinked his eyes and turned to him. "Really?"

"You know, cause of the hair," he said. "It's crazy."

"It's a mullet," Steve said but Wo Fat just shrugged. Steve then pointed at him. "Are uh… are you planning on staying here or…"

"Yep," he said. "You got me into this, you get to reap the consequences."

See an angry Rowan was consequence enough, now he was straight up getting punished.
