Chapter 392
It wasn't a week after Wo Fat left to go straight that he was back in the McGarrett kitchen again.
This wasn't a surprise though.
Steve had been talking to Wo Fat about a Mother's Day thing for their shared mom for about two months now. Long before he surrendered himself to the CIA and then allied himself with Kono on her anti-human-trafficking team she had.
This had always been the plan.
It was part of the reason why he wanted to talk to Wo Fat at the party, but he had never shown up. Because he had left.
With Kono.
Yeah, wasn't that a kicker?
Kono left. And was not coming back.
Kono had said that it would be temporary but Rowan had shook her head and said that wasn't true. This was her new permanent gig.
It was why she sent Wo Fat along. She figured that Kono could use the back up and Wo Fat wouldn't hate getting orders from her.
They already knew he worked well with Kono so it was a win-win. The fact that he managed to convince the CIA of this, when they were the one who were supposed to be calling the shots was remarkable.
They must have really wanted him on the payroll.
That morning, however, Wo Fat was back on Hawaii, not that he'd be staying there for long. The two of them would be going off to wherever Doris and Yao's little hide out was to pick her up for some Mother's Day activities.
Doris was well aware of this plan, as Steve did not want to surprise the ex-CIA operative, and had asked if they'd bring Mary along as she hadn't seen her daughter in a very long time. Steve had to admit that Mary had no knowledge of Rowan's powers, and since her powers were on a need-to-know basis he was holding off on telling his little sister about them.
Doris was disappointed but understood.
At least she'd be able to see two of her kids on Mother's Day, and Mary had sent down a gift and a card for her.
So that left Steve in the kitchen with Wo Fat. Nahele and Steve had made breakfast for Rowan, and then breakfast for themselves.
Rowan was supposed to get breakfast in bed, except she had woken up and come down the stairs instead. And then refused to leave.
Later, when Wo Fat was pulled, Steve whipped him up some eggs, Rowan made him coffee all while Nahele wolfed down the waffles he had helped Steve make.
"So how's Nevada?"
"Basically shut down," Wo said between sips of the coffee Rowan had made him.
"Already?"
Wo Fat nodded. "I knew who was in charge of most of the human trafficking trade in Nevada, he took over my lines from me when I went to jail. Well… more like he forcibly took them from me…"
"So you basically handed them your old lines?"
"Sort of. To be fair I gave him fair warning. Told him we could work out a deal, he chose to try and out smart me."
"How did that work."
"I shot him about… twenty-seven times. Maybe thirty. We're waiting for the autopsy results," Wo said and Rowan cried out.
"Hey! Not in front of my child!"
"Mom… Call of Duty is just as violent…" Nahele started but Rowan just shushed him.
Steve shot his wife a smile and then turned back to Wo Fat. "I bet they didn't like that."
"No, they did not. They called it a gross use of excessive force and apparently, I'm not supposed to do that as it's… not fair… or something. I unno, when it's kill or be killed I'm going to use all the force I want."
Steve tried not to laugh, he couldn't help it, so he focused on drinking his coffee so Wo Fat couldn't see his amused grin.
They were clearly trying to make the man think like a cop but he just was not hardwired that way. Steve figured they'd have a problem with that but he didn't think he'd be so entertained by it.
"I gave them information on other trafficking lines that were ether taken over when I went to jail or given up when Rowan made me give them up. They're doing all the research and they'll pick the next place we get sent to based on what they figure out."
"You were in jail?" Nahele asked and Wo Fat nodded.
"Your father put me in there about three years ago," he said.
"That was the second time," Steve added absently noting that Nahele was grinning at him.
"Mom let you arrest him?"
"Your mother and I weren't as close back then," Wo Fat said and then paused. "How much does he know about how I met you?"
"Literally nothing," Rowan answered as she went about cleaning up everyone's plates.
Wo nodded and then turned Nahele. "We'll tell you when you're older."
Steve however was distracted. "Babe, I told you to stop, it's Mother's Day, no chores for you," he complained standing up to take the plates from her. "Seriously, go sit down."
Rowan sighed but did as she was told, except she only got to the chair before her phone chirped and she lunged for it.
"Oh, oh, you boys better be ready cause she is!" she cried and then rushed to the door.
Steve dropped the plates in the sink, Wo Fat jumped to his feet, and Nahele rushed away from the table screaming: "Not ready, not ready, not ready!"
Rowan opened up the back door and Doris breezed on into the kitchen. There was a off key cry off: "Happy Mother's Day!" from both Steve and Wo Fat as their voices didn't really go together well.
Doris hugged Steve first before hugging Wo Fat.
"I know it's Mother's Day but am I allowed to say hello?" Yao asked from the other side of the portal.
Doris didn't even answer she just shoved Wo Fat towards Yao, who immediately opened up his arms to envelope his son in his arms.
The hug was brief, but probably eons to a Fat man, and when he was done Yao simply turned a look onto Rowan and she was hugging him too. And that one lasted as long as a Rowan hug usually lasted. Way too long.
While Rowan and Wo caught up with Yao, Nahele came back down the stairs. He was still in his pjs and he had a gift in his hand. It was wrapped in purple tissue paper and had a card.
"Hey Nana!" he cried.
"Ah, there's my favourite grand son!" she said hugging him tightly. She then looked down at him. "You grew."
"Yes!" Rowan cried from back door. "Tell him to stop!"
Everyone just shook their heads and Doris turned back to him. "I got this for you," Nahele said offering his gift up to her.
Doris took it, looked over the card with a smile and a tearful aww and then she peeled off the tissue paper to reveal a grey sweater.
She unfolded it and found that, across the chest was written "World's best Grandma."
"It's written in my writing," he said and then he showed her the sleeve were just above the cuff was the words "Nana + Hele" and his adoption date. "And I thought it'd be cute to put that on the cuff… uhm… I didn't put Joanie on cause I don't know if you have a nickname for her…"
"Oh I can add that on whenever," she said though Steve knew that it hurt her to know she hadn't met her granddaughter yet. That her covert lifestyle at kept her from her family. The only reason she was a part of Steve's was because his wife had magic powers.
She handed Yao the sweater for safe keeping, she told Nahele she'd wear it except they were going somewhere warm and she didn't want to sweat in it. She then turned back to her two boys and said: "So where's my other kid?"
"Other kid?" Steve asked. "Do you mean Mary? Cause I told you… she doesn't know about Ro yet and…"
"No, no. Con, where is he? Why isn't here?"
Steve and Wo Fat exchanged glances. "Uh… we didn't… uhm… we didn't think you'd want him here? I mean he's not really one of your kids…"
"Neither are you," Doris said and Wo sighed.
"Yes, but you raised me for a bit, you didn't raise Con."
Doris simply ignored him and turned to Rowan. "Well? Where he is?"
Rowan blinked her eyes and then a shift went through the kitchen as she opened up her void sense. She got a glazed sort of look on her face as she surveyed the strings and then it was gone. "He's sleeping."
"Well… wake him up."
Rowan turned, said a goodbye to Yao, shut the door to wherever their little safe house was, and then opened up the door again to somewhere else.
Steve knew that Con was on the island and currently waiting for a house on their street to go for sale. He wanted to be near-by at all times, which apparently meant purchasing a house as close to them as possible.
Luckily one had gone up for sale literally the day after he made up that decision. He had made a bid on it right away. Steve had asked Rowan if she had to foot that bill too, but it turned out that Con hadn't spent any of the money Wo Fat or Rowan had paid him while he was babysitting during the Year of Deceit so he was using that.
He was currently staying in a hotel until he knew if he got the house or not. Though he bid over the asking so he probably got it. They were just waiting for the news.
Once the door was open, she just shouted for Con on the top of her lungs. There was a shout, a string of curses in both English and Spanish and the sound of clamouring.
Con appeared at the door in nothing but a pair of boxers and a gun in his hand. He surveyed the kitchen and then turned a scowl onto Rowan.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" he snarled.
Rowan just pointed to Doris. "She wanted to talk to you."
Con sighed heavily. "Give me a second to change."
He walked away and Rowan half closed the door to give him privacy. In a couple of minutes Con was back, fully dressed this time, and Rowan was closing the door.
"What's up?" he asked.
"I was wondering why you weren't here," Doris said. "It's Mother's Day."
Con's eyes darted from Doris, to Steve and then to Wo. "I uhm… I know? Uh… Happy Mother's Day?"
"Thank you. But the point of having a Mother's Day is having all my boys here with me," she said.
"Oh… uh… and… and that includes me?"
"Well you're Wo's brother, aren't you?"
Con's eyes darted to Wo. "I mean… Ro says that I am… but uh… it's not a discussion he and I have…"
"Yes," Wo Fat answered and Steve watched Con practically inflate. He just started beaming at Wo in this adorable little kid way.
"Well, you got adopted by my adopted son, which means you're mine now."
Steve sighed. Really? His mom was adopting Con now too? Was it just in the McGarrett DNA to adopt everyone who got close to them? She was definitely where he got it from then.
"You know, Ro's their adopted sister too… you going to adopt her as well?"
Doris turned an unimpressed glare onto Steve like that was a completely ridiculous question to ask.
"Maybe… if she hadn't married you. She's family now regardless, besides she already knows I'm a mom figure, right?"
The fact that she had put thought into this was crazy. Steve glanced to Rowan and found her nodding enthusiastically at her.
"There see," she said and then clapped her hands. "Right are you guys ready to go? I'm sure Nahele has all sorts of fun stuff planned for his very first Mother's Day with Ro."
"I do!" Nahele cried which had all of them chuckling.
"Right, well let's get started on our day out," Doris said. "Rowan, open the portal."
Rowan went back to the door, opened it up and a clear blue surf met them, completely different from the one that was usually just a few steps outside that door. Doris kissed her cheek as she walked by, Con ruffled her hair, Wo gave her half a hug and a kiss on the cheek, while Steve full out kissed her.
Then they were through the portal out onto the beach and Rowan had closed the door behind them.
Though this should have been awkward, Steve didn't feel that way at all. Instead he was excited. Excited to be spending Mother's Day with his mom for once, with two men he was starting to see as his own brother's.
In Greece.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
For Rowan's first official Mother's Day, Nahele had wanted to really treat her, which meant pulling all the extra shift he could with Kamekona, and not eating at work so he could maximize his pay cheques. It meant bringing lunch to school so he could save his lunch money. It meant hooking rides from friends so he could save his bus money. It meant getting extra chores from Steve so he could get extra allowances.
He had already tried to give her breakfast in bed, but had to settle for just making her breakfast because she wanted to sit at the table.
He had already given her the gift he got her, which was another picture. This one was an 8x10 heart made up of all of his mom's favourite pictures. Pictures of the whole family, of her wedding day, of her and Nahele, of her and Steve, of her brothers, every single picture she loved of Steve on his own or Nahele on his own, just… everything.
She had cried when she opened it and his heart had brimmed with pride.
But that wasn't all that he had planned that day because he wanted to go all out for Rowan.
She was, after all, his official mother now, and as her official son he wanted to remind her why she had picked him in the first place.
It started by dressing up, in matching outfits. They had to be fancy because of the first activity, but once they were done with the day out portion of the day, they could get out of the fancy get up and slum it in sweat pants.
He was in black slacks and a light blue shirt, while she was in a lighter blue blouse and black skirt with a pleated hem. They looked like a cute pair and Rowan was clear they were going to take pictures in their outfits at some point.
Then it was time to go.
He had done as Steve had for her birthday, calling that hotel back and booking a reservation in the Orchid room for high tea. Once they had gone for their high tea, they went to a spa together. They both got massages and facials done and it was great.
He didn't know why his dad complained about spa treatments, Nahele had never felt more relaxed before in his life.
When that was all done and Nahele assumed that they'd be driving home where he'd be baking her cookies to show her that he could.
But that wasn't what had happened.
She took him to a florists, where she picked up this beautiful planter with a small white Gardenia bush. Immediately Nahele flushed. Why had his mom bought herself flowers? How had he not known that she would want them?
And how weird was it that she had the same favourite flower as his mother. Especially since he was pretty sure Steve said her favourite flower was Black Dragon Roses, they were super rare and expensive and he had told Nahele that she wouldn't have wanted him to waste his money on roses for her.
Now he felt like a horrible son. He should have known that Steve wouldn't have known her favourite flower. He should have known that she would want flowers for her first Mother's Day with him.
God, what if she was mad at him?
He glanced to her as they drove.
She didn't look mad but she could have been hiding it. She probably didn't want to seem ungrateful. Ugh… he must have ruined the whole day for her not getting her flowers.
They were flying down the street in her pastel purple GTO, the windows were down and she had her hair back with one of her fabric hairbands and the sunglasses he now knew Uncle OZ had bought her on her face. They were listening to music she wrote, looking at ease behind the wheel, one hand on the wheel the other resting against the car door.
"What's that look for?" she asked after a single glance in her direction.
Wow she really could read him well.
"I… I just… are you… are you having a good day?"
"Of course," Rowan said right away. "I'm a little worried you spent too much money on me though."
Ah, so was that why she bought her own flowers? Because she didn't want him to spend too much on him.
"That's okay, Uncle Steve helped me… and I worked a bunch of extra shifts," he said with a shrug. "I would have bought you flowers… I just… Steve didn't tell me…"
"Oh those flowers aren't for me." Nahele immediately felt better. The flowers weren't for her. Thank the lord. "We have one more stop to make and then we'll be good for the day."
Nahele smiled he was fine with that. He didn't mind doing some errands with his mom. He loved spending time with his mom.
But when she brought him to a cemetery he recognized he suddenly wasn't as excited. Ro parked as close to the plot as possible before turning to Nahele.
"What are we doing here?" he asked. How had she even known to come here?
"Well… I'm not your only mom," she said with a scoff like his question was weird. "Can't have Mother's Day without visiting your real mom."
Nahele looked out at the tombstones his heart lurching feeling an awful lot like he was going to cry. He thought that when he got adopted that he'd be leaving this behind, that it would make Ro feel better if she was his one and only real mom.
"How did you know that… that…"
"Well… I invaded your privacy a bit and checked the strings," she said. "I got the location and the favourite flowers… which was bad of me I know… I just… I suppose I wanted this to be a surprise…"
Nahele just smiled at her because he didn't know what to say.
"So… uh… I figured this was just a you thing, so you can go on without me. I had the caretaker dig a hole for the bush, it'll be right by your mom's grave, but you take all the time you need. No rush, no time limit…"
"You're not going to come with me?"
"Well, I didn't want to intrude."
Nahele turned a bit of a puppy-dog pout to her. "Please?"
Rowan looked a bit uncomfortable, but she got out of the car with him. While he went into the back to get the bush out of the back, she went to the trunk of the car and changed into the flats she had stored in there.
When they were both ready, they walked down the rows until they got to his mother's row and then they walked down to the plot.
They stopped at his mom's grave and for a moment he was taken back to four years ago when his mom died and her name was freshly carved into that headstone.
He had one day after her funeral before CPS swooped in and took him away.
He had told himself that he wasn't going to cry, he was going to be strong, but when he was alone at night he did cry.
Six months later he stole Steve's car and met the people who would eventually be his new parents.
Nahele stared at his mom's name, Khalea Huikala, for a moment before he dropped to his knees beside her grave to transfer the gardenia from it's plastic container to put it into the hole awaiting beside her tombstone.
Rowan helped him fill in the cracks, pushed the soil around until it was settled and then the two of them were just sitting there in front of his mother's grave.
Rowan was watching him, waiting to take his lead. So he turned back to his mom's grave trying very hard not to feel too guilty.
"Hi mom," he said softly. "Sorry I haven't been by in a while, I just… I've been busy. End of school stuff you know?"
He paused, not because he expected a response but because he didn't know what to say. The truth was he hadn't been back since he had gotten adopted. He didn't know how to tell his mom he was replacing her with Rowan… he didn't want Rowan to think that he wouldn't think of her as a mom because he still loved well… his real mom.
"I uhm… I guess you already know but uhm… I might as well tell you. I uhm… I got adopted. Ro… Rowan and Steve… they both adopted me. It was uhm… it was at different times but that was cause Ro couldn't wait to adopt me." He then paused and turned to Ro. "Sorry, mom, this is Rowan… I… I call her mom though…"
"It's nice to meet you," Ro said softly.
"Everything's been… everything's been really good. Ever since I met Ro… everything's been… I mean… I have a family again and I'm doing well in school. I made the football team this year and coach says if I improve over the summer, he'll put me in the Quarterback position next year, maybe even team captain… he says I have real potential, but that's cause Da… Steve and my Uncle Chin have been helping me. I'm really, really happy."
Then, because he couldn't stop himself, he started crying. "I know I shouldn't be. I know I… I still miss you, I do but I know I call Rowan mom but she… she's not… I just… I… I'm really lucky…"
Rowan put a hand to his shoulder and he turned right away and pressed into her touch.
"She's is always going to be your mom," she said to him. "Just because I'm in your life and you love me too will never take that away. She will never stop being your mom and I will not and would never ask you to give her up. Okay?"
Nahele looked up to her, his eyes still brimming over with tears. "If you want to come visit your mom, you don't even have to ask. Just tell me and we'll figure out a time to get you over here, okay?"
Nahele nodded frantically and swiped at his eyes feeling a little foolish now.
He should have known that Rowan wouldn't have cared if he still loved his mom, just like he should have known that Khalea wouldn't have cared. She would have just wanted him to be happy. She would have been glad that he had a new family. One that loved him just as much as she did.
"Now, would you two like some alone time? I could wait in the car for you."
Nahele shook his head. "I still love you mom, you're still my mom, but I love Rowan too and I love Steve and I love my new family. I have two great criminal uncles who are nothing like dad was and they'd… they'd do anything for me. Like… literally. My other Uncles and Aunt are cops. I have grandparents now and it's… it's everything… you know? Everything we always talked about. The big family we always wanted. I… I finally have it and seriously I'm super happy."
Rowan hugged him tightly and he hugged her back. "Don't worry, Miss Huikala, I promise to look after him."
If it was possible Nahele snuggled even closer into his new mom. Words really didn't describe how lucky he was to have been found by these people. Or how lucky he was that they all had just… taken him in.
Having Rowan and Steve both adopt him had been more than enough, but their whole extended and adoptive family had accepted him with open arms as well.
"Thanks mom," he whispered. "Thanks for always understanding."
At that moment, it might not have been clear, but he wasn't just talking to Rowan. He was talking to both his moms.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
Rowan had dropped them off on a beach in Mykonos.
As soon as they were all situated and over the hop over, Steve set out a set of pamphlets.
These were tourist activities that were offered here and the plan was to let him mom pick what they were going to do that day.
Steve had gone with Rowan before that day to scout out a door she could use to pop a portal in and while they were there, not only did they do some cute touristy stuff of their own and take a picture to put up on their wall, Rowan had picked the pamphlets off.
Steve had put them in front of his mom, told her to pick and they'd tailor make the day for her. His mom had been surprised, but Wo and Con were not, they were only surprised that Steve had adopted Rowan's approach to travel.
"It's a good approach," Steve had said defensively while the two men just smiled smugly at him like they were ridiculously entertained by him.
See, this was why he didn't like working with those two because it was always them against him.
His mom had looked everything over and then picked three things.
She wanted to see the Delos Museum and archaeological sites. She wanted to walk Matogianni Street and then she wanted to have dinner in Alefkandra which was Little Venice.
So they started by walking Matogianni street, where they got gyros to snack on while his mom shopped. They all agreed to buy her one thing as an extra Mother's Day gift.
She picked a whole boating outfit that Wo Fat paid for, a hand-woven straw bag to fill with snacks and supplies for their boat trip that Con paid for, and then Steve paid for a Mykonos style necklace that was basically a chain of golden laurel leaves.
Then she went around buying up snacks and sunscreen for the boat trip. She bought the boys all matching hats to keep the sun off of their faces, and then when she thought Steve wasn't looking she bought Nahele a little windmill souvenir. She also bought one for Joanie, or at least he assumed it was Joanie she bought the second one for.
When it was time, Wo Fat used his contacts to hire them a boat to take them to the island of Delos which wasn't very far from where they were.
Con tried to be brave but he was on the boat for like ten minutes before Wo and Doris put him in a life jacket. Steve got to drive so that was great. But the close quarters meant that Doris got them all smothered in sunscreen, especially all over Wo's scars.
They spent the rest of the afternoon on Delos where Doris got to see some interesting archeological sites before they headed to the museum.
They took a break between the two to eat the little snacks that she had packed them, then they were back on the boat and heading to the Little Venice section of Mykonos.
They picked the restaurant, Kastro's where they got their table and ordered.
Once the orders were in, Steve had Wo Fat text his wife. Steve went to the washroom and Ro popped open a portal straight to him, a special power she had tested before this to make sure she could open a portal in a doorway to a place she had never been so long as she was doing it to get to Steve.
Spoiler alert, she could.
She then handed off two gifts. One that was from Steve and the one from Wo Fat that he had left in her care.
That was supposed to be it, but when he saw Rowan, who had no doubt changed out of whatever fancy outfit she had been in today, he was immediately frowning.
"Have you been crying?" he had asked. "What… what happened, is Nahele okay?"
"Oh yeah, we're both fine," she had said. "We went to see his mother today."
"You're his mother," Steve had growled. But his wife only had to shoot him a glare for the understanding to dawn on him. She had meant his other mother, his first mother… real mother?
Did it suck that he hated that he wasn't Nahele's real dad? In the sense that, though he loved Nahele and Nahele loved him, when people asked him who his real dad was, he'd say Kaili and not Steve because Kaili was his bio-dad.
He confirmed with Rowan once more that the two were okay before letting her close the portal and then he was brining the gifts out to the table.
His mom wanted to open them right then and there but the food came so they voted to eat everything and then once dessert was done she could open up her gifts and not worry about them getting dirty. His mother demanded to keep them by her as if Steve was going to keep her gifts for himself.
He bought one of them, what good what that do?
But she wanted to hold them so he let her.
When it was time she brought out the gifts again and excitedly went about opening them up. She opened up Wo's first and found a pair of white keds, they were all white but on the tongue of the shoe was the word Mom with little hearts all around them.
He told her that Jian had helped him pick them out, Ro had gotten the size and they picked the white because it went with Nahele's sweater. He figured with a pair of leggings she could have a whole outfit.
Doris was excited, she assumed that that meant Steve had gotten her the leggings, but no. He had gotten her a set of Terrarium candles.
This was a whole line of different types of candles modeled to look like little terrariums. He got her the cactus, the poppy and two different types of succulents. He told her that he thought this was the perfect seeing as she loved flowers but couldn't keep them alive.
This way the fact that they were going to die was a given, cause they were going to melt.
Doris had acted all offended but she loved them.
Con then told her that he obviously didn't know to get her anything, so he'd get her something better next year. She told him not to worry about it, his presence was all she needed.
With the gifts and dinner done, they walked on the beach back to the door where they texted Rowan to open them a portal which she did right away.
She sent Con back first, then she opened up a portal for Wo. But for Doris, Ro held her back.
"Now, don't get used to this, but I have you a little gift too," she said.
Doris was confused. She hadn't been expecting Rowan to get her anything so she hadn't gotten anything for her. This meant that she wasn't prepared and Doris hated not being prepared.
Doris tried to tell her to stop, that she didn't need anything, that maybe they could have a mother's hang out day where they drank tea and swapped stories but Rowan shook her head.
"Trust me, you're going to want this," she said and then popped open a different portal. As she ushered Doris through it she said: "Just text Steve when you wanna go home."
Then she shut the door behind her.
Doris found her self in a shadowy living room. She wasn't sure where she was but wherever she was it was night time. She had no idea why Rowan would have wanted her there. How was an empty, dark house, her gift?
She hadn't bought Doris a house… had she?
Someone was moving, she could hear someone walking towards her, and as they did lights were turning on.
Eventually the lights turned on in the living room, and Doris hadn't been able to find somewhere to hide. The person turning lights on swore and then they both paused.
There was a brief silence and then the person asked: "Mom?"
Doris struggled to keep herself from bursting out in tears then and there. She recognized that voice and honestly, if Rowan were there, she'd kiss the girl.
Doris smiled at Mary, who was in her pjs clearly not expecting company. "Hi," she whispered softly, as tears brimmed in her eyes. "Uhm… Happy Mother's Day…"
And then Mary was in her arms, hugging her tightly. Honestly it was the best gift she had ever gotten.
That night Doris got to meet her other grandchild. She met Matt, Mary's fiancé, and for a long time she and Mary just talked, about being mothers, about where she had been and what she was doing. Though that last one was bare minimum as she didn't want to give Mary too much information and make her a target.
Then when the night was done, she used Mary's phone to send Steve a text, and then left the house.
Eventually, while she was walking, a portal opened under her feet that she disappeared into, and she was dropped into the living room that she used to share with John, and now belonged to Steve and Rowan.
She got up, hugged her son again, thanked her daughter-in-law profusely and then she too was sent home.
She really had had the best Mother's Day of her life and it reminded her just how much she missed being a mom.
And how much she wanted out of this life.
