Chapter 394
Steve woke up that morning to an empty bed and fear lancing through his system.
He always woke up when Rowan got out of bed. Mainly because he was already awake and merely dozing. Rowan always slept later than him.
He couldn't fathom a reason why he'd be alone, but he knew he didn't like it. He didn't like waking up to her not being by his side because it was too reminiscent of the year he was without her. He still wasn't over the Year of Deceit and everything he had felt during that year.
And Rowan knew that.
It was why she always woke him up before she left, if he were to sleep in. So, he knew where she was going so he knew he wasn't stuck in the past.
But there had been no wake-up call, no kiss to his temple or his lips, he didn't wake up to his wife straddling him and he was certainly hadn't woken up to her beside him or over him.
Cue the fucking panic.
The only thing him keeping him grounded was the strings. He sent his fear out into them and got a wave of pure soothing calm back. She was still there, she was still in the house.
And no sooner did that soothing wave hit him did he hear feet on the stairs.
The door swung open seconds later. "Seriously," she hissed as she walked in. "Panic? Why are you panicking right now?"
Steve opened his mouth and Rowan shook her head. "If you say it's cause I'm not in bed with you, I swear Steven…"
"Why do you do that?" he growled. "You always invalidate my feelings… if I were Wo or Con you wouldn't be saying that…"
"It's Father's Day, you idiot."
Oh.
Fuck.
Right.
Yes that was today, wasn't it?
"I reminded you yesterday… remember? Literally before you went to bed… what did I say?"
"You said that you might not be here when I wake up if Nahele wants help with breakfast in bed…" he muttered, it all coming back to him now. "I woke up in a panic… I forgot…"
Rowan moved towards the bed. Leaning in to press a kiss to him, and his hands moved right away to grab a hold of her. One went to her wrist, the other to her waist.
"I love you, but maybe you need therapy for this fear of yours…"
"It's not irrational, Rowan, I spent a year waking up without you because your brother stole you from me…"
"I didn't say it was irrational Steven, I merely think that you might need therapy to help you get over it."
Steve frowned up at her, he hated therapy with Danny, he didn't want to think about how awkward and how much he'd hate it if he were by himself.
Rowan pressed another kiss to him, and he had to fight the urge to pull her into his lap so he could ravish her fully.
"Our son is going to come upstairs with a tray for you, and you better pretend to be surprised, Mr. McGarrett," she whispered against his lips and he smiled up at her.
"I will I promise."
"Right, I'm going to go see if he needs help. No more panic please."
"Yes, yes, I promise."
Though he was loathe to do it, he let go of his wife and watched her saunter out of their room. He smiled watching her go.
He loved the way her hips swayed, the way that perky butt of her bounced with each step. God he could watch her walk away from him for the rest of his life… you know just so long as he got to watch her walk back too.
He didn't lounge back in bed though. He got up quickly, pulled out a shirt to put on so his kid wouldn't be forced to deal with his bare chest, and Rowan wouldn't be distracted.
He got back into bed just as quickly, made himself look comfortable and relaxed and a couple of minutes later he was rewarded with his son coming into the room with a tray with pancakes and sliced oranges and a mug of coffee to put in his lap.
"Oh wow! For me?" he asked knowing damn well that it was for him.
Nahele just beamed at him proudly. "Yeah! Happy Father's Day!"
Steve beamed. That's right, his first official Father's Day as a dad. He was literally super freaking happy.
"Thanks bud!" he said noting that Rowan had come in with her own tray. Nahele bounced into the bed beside him and she put that tray in his lap.
"I thought we could eat together," he said. "Is that okay?"
"Hell yeah," Steve said. "Who uh… who made the…"
"I did," Rowan said right away and he smiled, right, good. Then these pancakes would be phenomenal. "Because they're Steve's favourite I made the PB and J chunky monkey pancakes."
That was essentially peanut butter, banana and chocolate chips in the batter, with jelly spread on top. And yes, they were Steve's favourite, his mouth was watering already. He wanted to take a picture and send it off to Lou, but he was still smarting over finding out that Rowan was the pancake queen.
"Right, so you boys are good?" she asked. "Cause I have to send Wo over to China…"
"Yep we're good, have fun with Yao…"
"I don't know if I'm going yet…"
Nonsense, Yao was going to want all his kids there, and he saw Rowan as one of his kids. Because that wasn't weird. Their family made no sense.
"Okay, well if you end up staying back you can come with us," Nahele said but Rowan shook her head again.
"No no, this is your day, boys. You wanna do hat father-son bonding stuff, I don't want to get in the way of that. No, if I have to stay behind I'll bake something. Cookies maybe…"
Like Steve was going to let her stay behind all by herself.
Still they let Rowan walk away so she could send Wo Fat to his father for their own Father's Day leaving Steve with Nahele and their pancakes.
"So… what did you have on the agenda today?"
"We're gonna go shooting," Nahele said. "I booked us two booths and everything. Then I thought maybe we could do some mini golf, loser buys shaved ices what do you think?"
"Sounds like a plan. But I'm telling you now, you're going down."
Nahele's grin widened and Steve smiled back.
This was going to be a great day he could already tell.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
Rachel had refused to give the kids over to Danny a day early. Despite being a Step-Stan, and neither of the kids being his, and the fact that they were literally getting divorced, Stan wanted the kids for Father's Day.
Or more aptly the day before Father's Day.
Danny thought that was stupid, but the man had basically been blindsided finding out Charlie was actually Danny's so, Danny was prepared to cut him a little slack.
Once that divorce was final though, the slack would be picked right back up again. Best believe.
So he drove up to that massive house that belonged to Stan and had at least of his kids rushing to meet him.
Charlie threw that door open and ran down the steps calling for Danno, wanting a hug. Just like Grace did when she was younger. She was a teen now, so even though she did come down the stairs too, she did so at her own pace while staring at her phone.
He did get an apathetic: "Happy Father's Day!" from his daughter and a hug, all while her eyes stayed on the phone.
"Really?" he had asked and she had just shrugged.
On the drive to his place, Grace asked if Nahele was with Steve today, which he was. Danny had asked why she needed to know that? Didn't her and Nahele talk all the time?
But that question didn't get an answer, it simply made his daughter frown, and her nose crinkle up. Right away he made a mental note to ask Rowan if she knew what was going on with their kids.
He had a feeling that they were in a fight… or that the older boy was finally getting tired of two freshman following him around and was pulling away.
If that was the case, well, there was nothing to be done. Nahele didn't have to keep extending social invitations to his daughter and her boyfriend. But if that was the case, Nahele had to, at the very least, have the decency to tell her that instead of just… what did the kids call it these days? Ghoul her? Something like that.
When they got back to his rented place, Charlie ran inside excitedly. Then he went into his bag, pulled out a hand made card and a badly wrapped gift and thrust them up at him.
He practically shouted: Happy Father's Day! at him, which was echoed a little more softly from Grace.
He took what Charlie was offering up to him and then turned to find that Grace had pulled something out of her purse too.
A real card and a nicely wrapped gift.
Aw, that was nice of them.
"If you don't mind dad, me and Charlie wanted to make you lunch. Italian. Just for you, then we can go out and do whatever you want, what do you say?"
He'd say that he was just grateful that she was no longer looking at her phone, that he finally had her undivided attention.
Instead he said: "Yes," and tried not to cry because honestly finally have his daughter's full attention was so much better than anything else that they could have gotten him today.
And he was going to get Italian food.
Today was starting to look up for him.

Chin woke up to Sara jumping up on the bed followed by Abby sitting down beside him to put a tray in his lap.
"Happy Father's Day, Uncle Chin," she cried.
"I helped with the pancakes," Abby whispered which meant that she had made the pancakes and Sara had licked the spoon. And probably the spatula.
"Wow, these look great!" he cried. "Thanks Sara."
He then winked at Abby so she knew he was thanking her too.
Sara moved right away to hug him, then presented him with a card she had made all for him.
"Wow, did you draw these pictures for me? They're very good!"
Sara beamed up at him and Chin beamed back.
Their move to San Francisco had been pretty seamless. He told Abby that he'd be moving, proposed, and then bought a house all within a few weeks of accepting the job.
He was researching new schools for Sara, and spending a lot of time with his new fiancée and his newly adopted daughter.
He didn't mind that she called him Uncle Chin though.
"So what's on the agenda for today?" he asked, picking up his utensils. "Other then me eating these delicious pancakes?"
"We're gonna see the fishies!" Sara cried. "Abby bought the tickets already!"
"Oh wow!"
"Then we're going to go for lunch, then we're going to treat you to a movie," Abby said. "You get to pick which one you wanna watch."
Chin smiled, he knew which one he was going to pick. One of the kids ones, because he couldn't pick anything else if Sara was coming with them.
Not that he was complaining.
This was the life.
It was the life he dreamed of having with Malia. That he might have had if Delano hadn't ended her life all too soon. If he hadn't ended their engagement all those years ago when IA first kicked him off HPD.
But this was his third chance to get it right.
And he wasn't going to squander it.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
Wo had called Kono and told her that he was unwell and staying in the hotel that day. This was a cover, a necessary lie that she was in on because she knew very well that their CIA bosses could never find out about Rowan's powers.
Once he was done with the fake call, he simply had to send a text and then he was joining his sister and his little brother in her kitchen in Hawaii.
"Steve here?" he asked once they were done hugging it out.
"Yeah, he's upstairs having breakfast with Nahele," she said.
"Mm, he know you might be leaving today?" he asked.
He knew better than to try and take Rowan off of this island without Steve's knowledge. Though Wo Fat had given him no reason to worry recently, he was very well aware that the Year of Deceit had done a number on him mentally.
Rowan nodded and he nodded back. She was under the impression that Yao wouldn't want to have the two adopted siblings with him on Father's Day. That he wasn't like Doris and would only want to see his biological son.
But that was not going to be the case. Yao would want Rowan there, he seemed to like Rowan a lot, had already said that he saw her as a daughter this Christmas. And if Rowan was coming along, so would Con, because Con was not going to be left out.
Yes his father had the right to not want to adopt the assassin, he could very much need time to reach a place where he could open up his heart to him, and that was all fine. But Wo was not going to let him be left behind.
Either Yao just got him, or he got the three of them. Those were the only options.
Rowan's phone chimed but she didn't even bother looking at it. Instead she looked to him.
"You ready?"
Yes he was. He knew the plan.
Go in alone, see what Yao says, then see if he was having his younger siblings tag along.
"Course," he said. Though the truth was he was nervous.
He still felt like a relative stranger to his dad. Almost all of their conversations were dry and stilted, the man barely touched him unless Rowan was demanding they did, and he couldn't tell if the man was happy to see him.
Yao was always happy to see Rowan, and he had even started hugging her.
But Rowan was like that. She was infectious. She was happy to see you, so you were happy too. She wanted emotional contact and well… you wanted to make her happy so you'd do it too. That was what had happened to him, to Con and now, seemingly, his father.
She went to the kitchen door, opened up the portal and then opened the door for him.
He walked in first, leaving Rowan and Con on the other side to greet his father who was just standing on his own in the middle of their ramshackle hut out in some countryside in, what Wo was assuming, was China.
They might have moved, he didn't know.
"Hello," they ended up saying at the same time and Wo winced. Seriously why was it always so awkward with his dad?
The two of them sort of stared at one another for a moment before Yao sort of started forward, it was clear that he wasn't sure how to initiate but he was reaching out to hug him.
Wo let his father hug him, the interaction short but meaningful. At least to him.
When they separated Yao cleared his throat and glanced around Wo to the door that was still open.
"So… uh… where's your little sister… and your little brother…"
Both Con and Rowan poked their heads into the doorway. "We're here," Rowan said. "We just weren't sure that you…"
Yao only had to motion for them to join him for them to scamper into the room. Rowan had turned back before shutting the door to shout that she was heading out with Con and Wo to spend Father's Day with Yao. She then turned round, and ran right to Yao, hugging him tightly before he could ward her off.
As per usual, he stood there, as if unsure of what to do with his hands, but without Wo Fat's prompting he hugged her back. That hug lasted longer than the one Wo had shared with his father.
See, why couldn't he be like that?
Eventually his dad cleared his throat and Rowan let go right away with a quick: "Sorry," and she stepped back, leaving time for Con to move in to hug Yao.
That hug too was longer and less awkward than Wo's and he was starting to get annoyed.
Once everyone was hugged out, Wo was ready to move on.
"Right… so… where are we?" Wo asked.
"Oh, oh, oh!" Rowan cried moving right away to pull her backpack off of her back and out came all the pamphlets for attractions.
Both Wo Fat and Con groaned the second they saw them. For god sake when had she even had the time to get them?
"So we're in China, right?" she asked. "We could see the Great Wall of China. The Forbidden City. The Temple of Heaven. The Summer Palace. The Palace Museum…"
As Rowan went on and on Wo fat turned to his father. "It's a thing she does… she likes… museums… and attractions…"
"She's basically your basic bitch Tourist," Con finished for him.
"The Great Wall has a toboggan ride and I want to try it!" Rowan cried.
"That would probably kill you," Wo Fat said because if anyone could get hurt on that thing it would be her.
"True, but it'd be worth it," she said.
No, no it wasn't. and then moved onto a completely different pile which was restaurant menus.
That was new.
"King's Joy has a high tea option which looks delicious, but there's also a restaurant at the Forbidden City which looks good. I really want to try a Donkey Meat Pie?" "—You mean a Donkey Burger?" "Yeah that… oh and a Tuckahoe Pie! I really want to try that…"
"Don't you think that my dad should choose… since it's Father's Day?"
Rowan paused and her excited smile faded. "Oh… right… yes… not my day… not my day…" she shook her head, donned a different but still excited smile and asked: "So what do you want to do today?"
Yao smiled kindly down at her in this soft sort of way that Wo Fat barely saw directed at himself.
"I'd like to do one thing that each of my children want to do… and then I'll pick dinner."
Rowan's eyes widened and she turned her eyes down to the pile of pamphlets she had.
Wo Fat was already sighing. "Rowan… now… be reasonable… please don't pick…"
"GREAT WALL TOBOGGAN!" she cried and he groaned again.
"Great, so we're going to watch Rowan die today," he said and Yao put a hand to his arm, pinning him with a knowing sort of smile.
"Why don't you decide what you'd like to do today, hmm?"
"Easy. I want to go suit shopping," he said. "I need a new one."
"Mm, matching suits," he said softly before turning to Con. "And what about you, Conrad…"
"No, no, Con doesn't…"
"Oh, Conner then…"
"Conejo," Rowan said absent as she sorted through all the menus to hand to Con who no doubt wanted to go somewhere to eat.
Yao turned to Wo. "He likes to keep his name a secret, Conejo is Spanish for Rabbit. This is because he wears a white rabbit mask as…"
"Yes, yes, I know all about Sin Nombre..."
"Conejo comes from a nickname his sister gave him, it was how he picked the white rabbit mask," Rowan said and Wo Fat turned to her and then turned his eyes to his brother.
"Is that true?" Con winced and Wo Fat scowled. "See that, that right there is why I think you two like each other more than me."
Both Rowan and Con cried out as if that comment cause them physical pain.
"That's not true!" Rowan said right away.
"The only reason she knows more about me is because she asked and made me answer… if you wanted to know more about me why don't you just ask?"
"And he was around more and… come on Wo, you know how annoying I am…"
"Children!" Yao had to cry and eventually they all turned to him. "If you'd please argue about this later, I'd like to know his real name…"
Con stared at him for a moment and both Rowan and Con exchanged glanced before Con cleared his throat and said: "I'm… it's Sebastian… but I don't like it. Ro calls me Con and it… it feels like a new start… a new life for me, you know?"
They all sort of exchanged glances again and Con cleared his throat.
"Sebastian is a life I can't ever get back, and Sin Nombre was made out of Sebastian's grief and anger. But… as Con, I got a new life. I got a sister, and a brother, and a nephew and… now a mom apparently, cause Doris can't take no for an answer and I guess… I guess a new dad since you seem to want me here too… but it just feels… great. Like I can be happy again. So… yeah. Con's like a new life, a new beginning so… if you could call me Con, I'd greatly appreciate it."
Rowan leant over right away to hug him and Wo crossed to drop a hand to his shoulder in a consoling sort of way.
"Thank you for telling me," Yao said. "So… do you know what you wanna do, Con?"
"Yeah! I wanna eat!"
Yao smiled. "Well alright. We have the Great Wall Toboggan…" "—No seriously, she's really clumsy and I'm more than 100% certain that she's going to get herself killed." "Oh hush, it'll be fine. Then suit shopping, maybe we can all get a matching outfit…"
"Wo doesn't like matching outfits," Rowan said right away.
"Closely matching is fine," Wo Fat said. "Not a fan of identical."
"And then eating for Con, and Dinner for me."
"Maybe we do Con's lunch between the great wall and the suit shopping?" Rowan asked. "I wouldn't mind picking up a new pant suit for my meetings…"
"Smart girl," Yao said right away reaching out to pinch her chin in the same way that Wo usually did for her.
Rowan smiled widely, pointed first at Yao and then to him. Right so that was where he got that from. He never knew why he had the subconscious desire to do that to her, but at least now he knew he got it from his dad.
Maybe his dad had done it that when he was younger and it had sort of subconsciously imprinted in him as a sign of affection.
And now Rowan knew it too. Which means she would not be letting Wo forget it.
Wo looked out the window. "Judging by the rice paddy I see out there, I'm going to assume that we're not anywhere near the things we want to do?"
Yao nodded but then turned to Rowan. "But I have such a wonderful daughter who can open a door to anywhere in the world."
"That's true, you do," she said already crossing to the door.
Wo Fat sort of half smiled but he definitely didn't like the way his dad had said that. Like the only reason he liked Rowan was for her powers.
It was a worry of his, with so many people learning about what she could do, that eventually they'd attempt to guilt her into helping them. Play on that adoptive-familial love of hers.
There wasn't anything he wouldn't do to protect his sister, even if it was from his father.
But he wouldn't worry about it at that moment. He'd wait to see how this day went, wait for the day to be done and Rowan back with Steven to confront him.
Right now, all he was going to do was enjoy his first Father's Day with his dad.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
The Grovers were doing their traditional Father's Day activities.
He got a morning breakfast that his wife made. They ate all together as a family, handing him Father's Day cards and gifts that he opened with glee, being sure to act like he was loving everything they gave him even if he really didn't. Useless or not, he didn't care, just so long as they were there with him, and they cared enough to try and get him something that was all that mattered.
The problem came after breakfast.
Grover always got to go golfing on Father's Day, and his kids would come and golf with him. He figured this year would be no different, but neither wanted to.
Will had the nerve to tell him that he didn't like golfing, besides he had to save his arm for his junior baseball league.
But Samantha said she had university stuff to do and that just made him angry.
Yes she had gotten into North Western, her dream school, which was great, but though he was proud he was also worried.
Chicago was really far, yes she used to live there, but her parents weren't going to moving with her. That meant she was heading out to Chicago without him where every cop hated him.
If something were to happen to his little girl there was a good chance they would either railroad her or abandon her simply because of her affiliation to him.
But she kept telling him not to worry, but that didn't stop him.
But when the worry got too bad, he was sure to remind himself of his secret weapon.
Rowan McGarrett and her powers.
She had made the most solemn of promises to check in on his daughter's strings every day and intervene if something was going down.
He didn't even care how she intervened. He didn't care if Rowan opened a portal herself and sent whoever was causing his daughter pain straight to hell. She didn't care if she threw her crazy brothers, all that mattered was that she helped Samantha stay safe. And she had promised that she would do her best and at the very least keep an eye on the strings to make sure she stayed out of danger.
And damn would he like to be there to see the look on any kidnappers or sex trafficker's face when Rowan walked into that room, right out of a portal with either Five-0 with her or one or both of her brothers.
He bet they'd shit bricks.
It took some time, but paired with her going away in September he managed to convince her to put her university shopping to the side, or to send her mother to get the stuff for her. Sot hey wall went golfing, and then to make her feel better they went one of the places to pick up some of the supplies she had been looking for.
He did note, however, that Will spent most of the day frowning at his phone, which made him wonder if he was having some sort of tiff with Grace.
Because if that was the case he was going to have to talk to Williams about his daughter upsetting Grover's son on Father's Day. Couldn't she pick a fight with Will on a different day?
He'd talk to Danny about it tomorrow, first he planned on enjoying the rest of his Father's Day best he could.
H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O
Saying Steve had had a good day was an understatement. This had literally been the best day of his life.
Like… he was definitely having a really good year for lasting memories. He wasn't sure there was anything that could happen this year that could take him off the high he was currently on.
He had everything he could ever want. A good job, good friends, and the family he had always dreamed of with the wonderful beautiful wife and the perfect kid.
Things could not get any better for him.
Seriously.
Unless Rowan got pregnant.
But they weren't ready for that… yet. Well, she wasn't. He was pretty sure he was ready, cause fear hadn't been what he had been feeling back when he thought she might have been pregnant. He had been excited to open yet another new chapter of his life with her by his side.
He glanced over to Nahele and smiled at how at ease the kid looked in the front seat of his father's Marquis.
Taking his dad's car for this monumental day had been symbolic. Like he had taken a piece of his dad with him so they could all be together.
"So did you have good day?"
"Yeah, it was great!" Nahele cried. He took a big crunching bite of his side of their shared shaved ice.
Kid had beat him fair and square. Decimated him actually. He had really not gotten better at golfing, even the mini version, though he did wonder if Ro could do her hole in one trick on those courses.
They were quiet a minute before Nahele turned him, a serious look on his face. "Do you think I did good at the shooting range?"
"Yeah, pretty good for a beginner."
"Do you think Uncle Con could help me get better?"
Steve glanced at him, not liking that his son's first thought was to get his uncle to help him with shooting. Even if Con was the sharp shooter of the family.
"Why are you so interested in this?" Steve asked. "Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's strange that you'd be so interested after your first try…"
"Well, I need to be good with a gun," Nahele said. "Specially if I want to be a cop."
Steve nearly crashed the Marquis in his shock.
"I'm sorry, what?" When Nahele just smiled at him Steve continued. "You want to be a cop."
"Just like you."
Steve frowned. "I… I mean… if that's what you want to do, I won't stop you, but to be honest, I'd rather have you in literally anything else."
"Really? Don't think I'd be good at it."
"No, you'd probably be great. I just… this job is hard… and I see things… I'm always in danger… always worrying whether or not I'll make it home, or if someone might go after you or your mom to get to me… and I mean… for most cops, this isn't that big of a deal I just… I unno kid, I just don't want that for you. I don't want you to worry like I do, you know?"
Nahele nodded. "I mean… I guess I just want to do something to help people."
"Well, there are many ways to do that," Steve said. "If I had my way, the legacy of McGarrett's being cops would end with me. But if that's the way you wanna go, I've got so many connections to help you out."
"Thanks," he said. "I'm still thinking about but I… wait a second… where are we?"
Steve pulled the Marquis into the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and began looking for a spot.
"Well, I wanted to visit my dad…"
Nahele looked around, crunched into that shaved ice they were almost finished. "You know… I unno if it's just this year, but my parent's days are awfully full of cemeteries…"
"Oh hush… if you don't want to come, just stay in the car."
"No, I'm sorry, I want to come, can I come? Please?"
Steve leant over and ruffled Nahele's hair. "Course you can come," he said as he swung out of the car. Nahele was quick to follow.
Together they walked, row by row, and then down the right one until they finally reached the right one.
"Hi dad," Steve said.
"Hi Pop-pop!" Nahele cried. "Nana said you wanted to be called that." Then Nahele paused. "Wait… he doesn't know who I am…"
"Oh I'm sure he does," Steve said already moving to sweep the dead leaves off of his dad's tombstone.
"Okay, we'll introductions are polite," he said as he dropped to his knees to help his dad clear the leaves. "Hi, Pop-pop, I'm Nahele, Steve adopted me this year."
Steve shot a smile to Nahele. "Yeah, he's the one I've been telling you about. That kid I wanted you to meet. Yeah, this is him."
"You told him about me?" Nahele asked in a soft voice, touched, as if he didn't think he'd ever come up whenever Steve visited.
"Course," Steve said, right away and then he turned back to his dad. "I really wish you could be here to see it. I got that big family I always wanted… and… well I think you'd've loved it. And Nahele… and Ro… maybe not her brothers, but you'd've liked her."
"Why wouldn't Pop-pop have liked my Uncles?"
"You know that's a really long story and one day I will tell you, just maybe not right now."
Nahele nodded solemnly and then a hand went under the collar of his shirt pulling out the dogtags that he never, ever, took off.
"Steve gave me these… he uhm... he said they were your dads. He said If I took super good care of them I'd get to keep them… he oculdn't give me his cause my mom wears his, but I like these ones too. They're great… it's like I'm wearing a piece of our history…"
Steve just sat back and watched his son talk to his dad.
Yeah, his dad would have loved this. Being with him would have made the day even more special, but even though he was gone, Steve knew that he was with them. In spirit.
