Chapter 3: New School

Agent BM: Yep, and you're about to find out.

The next morning, after breakfast the family went to go see Honey. When they pulled up to the hospital, Zeke parked the car, they all went inside, and learned where her room was. Up in her room, Honey was reading a book.

The door opened, and a nurse poked his head in.

"Mrs. Shaw you have some visitors." he informed.

Honey looked up, and smiled when she saw her kids running in.

"Mom." said Sophie.

"Mama." Zack babbled.

"Hey, guys." Honey greeted.

Sophie picked Zack up, and put him on the bed with Honey.

"Hey, babe." greeted Zeke.

"Hi Zeke."

They all shared a family hug.

"How're you feeling?" he wanted know.

"(Coughs), I'm still coughing, but it's getting better."

"That's good to hear."

"We moved into our new house yesterday, Mom." Sophie informed.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah." Zack told.

"How do you like it?"

"It's a nice house. You'd like it."

"Mommy, see house." Zack told.

"Yes, Zacky. Mommy will be seeing the new house soon enough." Honey said, stroking his hair.

"And I'm keeping your pearls safe, Mom." Sophie informed.

"Yes, I see. (Coughs)."

Just then, Honey's doctor came into the room.

"Hi, Honey. How're we feeling?" she asked her.

"Little better." Honey answered.

She then introduced her family to her.

"Sophie, take your brother outside we need to talk to the doctor." Zeke instructed.

"Okay, Dad."

Sophie then grabbed Zack, and they left the room. They waited outside for a while, and then the doctor left.

"You can come back in now." Zeke called.

They did, and Sophie gave Zack to her mom.

"So Sophie, we'll be going to your new school to get you registered after this."

"We are?" Sophie asked.

She was so busy thinking about her mom, she'd forgotten about starting at a new school.

"You're not going to be nervous are you?" Honey asked.

"No, Mom. I can handle it." Sophie assured.

After a while, visiting hours were over and the three had to go home.

On the way back, Zeke stopped by Sophie's new school. The building was similar to her old school, and the three went inside and got her registered.

"Sophie will be able to start on Monday. And she'll be in Mr. Martinez's class." the school secretary told Zeke.

"Okay, thank you ma'am." Zeke told her.

And then they all left.

The following day, Sophie and Zack went with Zeke to a little meeting.

"What's this meeting for, Dad?" Sophie asked.

"A work meeting, Sophie. With your mom in the hospital and Zack too young to be by himself. I'll be working from home, and my new boss told me that I can do a job at the house." explained Zeke.

They drove up to a big nice looking house, and parked in the driveway.

"Come on, sweetie." Zeke told Sophie, as he got Zack out of his car seat.

The three went up to the door, and Zeke rang the doorbell. After a minute, the door opened to reveal a woman around Honey's age. She had black hair in a ponytail, fair skin, hazel eyes, and wore a teal shirt, brown pants, and black shoes.

"Mrs. Fluggerbutter? I'm Zeke Shaw from the garage."

"Ah yes. I've been waiting for you. Please come in."

They walked inside, and Zeke introduced Sophie and Zack.

"It's nice to meet you all. And you know Sophie I have twins your age, you may be going to school with them." Mrs. Fluggerbutter told.

"Cool." Sophie said.

"The car's right this way." she told Zeke.

As the two adults went off, Sophie stayed behind. She looked around the big house, and glanced at some pictures. In the pictures was a younger version of Mrs. Fluggerbutter wearing a racing suit and standing in front of different race cars.

"Looks like Mrs. Fluggerbutter was a race car driver." Sophie observed.

Suddenly she heard footsteps, and looked behind her. Approaching her were two kids her age, a boy and a girl. They both had fair skin, the boy had blue eyes and the girl had brown eyes. The boy also had black hair in a cowlick, and he wore a black t-shirt, expensive looking jeans, red sneakers, and a brown jacket.

And the girl had blonde hair in a ponytail held up by a black bow, and wore a pink t shirt, brown skirt and black boots, white socks, a navy blue jean jacket, big silver hoop earrings, and a silver heart necklace and bracelet.

"Who're you?" asked the boy.

"Uh, I'm Sophie."

"Hey, are you the new girl Mr. Martinez told us about?" asked the girl.

"Uh yeah." Sophie replied.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Lucy. We're going to be classmates."

"I'm her brother Kevin. We're twins." said the boy.

"Hi I'm Sophie."

"Your pearls are so pretty." complimented Lucy.

"Thanks."

Then Zeke called out to Sophie.

"Sophie, we'll be getting ready to go in a few minutes."

"Okay, Dad." Sophie called back.

"Well it was nice to meet you." said Kevin.

"Thanks, see you guys at school."

"Bye." Lucy told her.

Then they went their separate ways.

On Sophie's first day of school, she called her mom.

"I'm getting ready to leave now, Mom." she told her over the phone.

"(Coughs) I want you to have a good day, Sophie." Honey replied.

"I will, but I wish you were here."

"So do I. But I'll be home before you know it."

"Okay, Mom. I love you."

"Love you too, sweetie."

And with that, they hung up and Sophie went to eat breakfast. After a bowl of cereal, Sophie got in the car with Zack, and Zeke drove off. When they got to the school, Sophie kissed her dad goodbye and went inside the building.

The school secretary gave her a paper that showed her where Mr. Martinez's classroom was. She walked down the hall, and managed to find the room. She took a deep breath, and opened the door.

It was a normal looking classroom, her classmates were already in there, and so was her teacher. A tall, Hispanic, man with brown eyes wearing a black shirt, tan pants, and brown shoes.

"Hello, you must be my new student." he told her.

"Yeah, I'm Sophie."

"I'm your new teacher, Mr. Martinez."

And then he got everyone's attention.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet your new classmate, Sophie Shaw."

"Hi." Sophie greeted.

The rest of the students smiled and greeted her along with Kevin and Lucy.

"Sophie, you sit by Lucy over there." Mr. Martinez instructed.

"Okay."

She went over, and sat down at the desk. As Mr. Martinez got started with their first lesson, it was the start of a brand new class for Sophie.
