Anarka was always so overjoyed when Marinette came to sleep over at the houseboat. Of course, Marinette was being extra sneaky during this particular visit. Marinette was lucky her surprise didn't get blown when she left the bed she and Luka were sharing early in the morning to proof dough. Marinette thanked the higher power for helping Luka sleep like an angel while she worked in the kitchen, although Luka held his arms out while he slept, still desiring to hold Marinette in his arms.

Luka was the most adorable boyfriend ever! But Marinette planned to make this recipe perfect.

After hours of hard work, sweat, and her undying love for the Couffaine family, she placed the sweet-smelling breakfast in the oven, set the timer, and sighed in relief as she sat on the kitchen floor.

Marinette opened her bluebell eyes when she heard a familiar warm chuckling and a yawn from a soft-spoken goth girl. Luka smiled warmly down at Marinette, and Juleka was still rubbing sleep off her eyes.

"I feel so sorry you got up early just for us, my melody," Luka said.

Marinette's heart skipped a beat. "Oh! You guys are worth it!" Luka offered his hand to help Marinette up as they moved in for a soft good morning kiss. Juleka gave them a look before focusing her attention on opening the fridge. While the two of them were having their moment kissing, Juleka picked up the blueberry juice Marinette bought for them. That was Marinette's way of getting Luka to limit his consumption of blueberry root beer. (Marinette's plan wasn't that successful.)

Soon, Marinette and Luka stopped kissing and were eager to join Juleka. Luka had to admit that pure blueberry juice without any added sugar was a bit tart for him, but watching Marinette chug the natural juice with such vigor inspired him.

The young couple did a cheers with their drinks before enjoying them, and as Marinette finished her drink, she noticed the special breakfast was halfway done. When Juleka finished her juice, she put the glass in the sink and headed for her bedroom. At the same time, Anarka enthusiastically poked her head in the doorway.

"That sweet treat smells divine!" Anarka cried.

Marinette smiled in embarrassment, which let Anarka know that she didn't want the surprise spoiled. Although Anarka could probably guess each ingredient. But when Luka wrapped his arms around Marinette like a warm teddy bear and kissed her temple multiple times, Anarka smiled in approval and let the couple have their privacy.

Although Marinette and Luka weren't kissing for long, they couldn't help but notice the door of Juleka's room was cracked open. She was trying to brush her long black hair but looked a bit frustrated as she held pieces of her hair in her mouth.

Luka and Marinette couldn't help but come in and make doting smiles in the vanity mirror's reflection. Juleka felt slightly smothered, but Luka ran his hands through his sister's long black hair and grabbed the hair brush to help her out. Juleka did feel relaxed having either her brother or Marinette brush her hair.

Luka was so gentle with Juleka's beautiful hair, and Marinette smiled at her sweet boyfriend from the other side of the room.

"Your hair smells like lavender," Luka whispered. And Juleka sighed in delight.

Marinette noticed the tiny glass vase with lavender flowers sitting by Juleka's window needed a little water. She headed back into the kitchen to get some. It was only minutes until breakfast was ready, so everything was timed perfectly. Marinette got a tiny glass of water and returned to Juleka's bedroom to water the plant. Then Marinette headed for the doorway and smirked at the Couffaine siblings before making her announcement at the doorway.

"Ok, everyone! Breakfast is almost ready! But I need to make the finishing touches, so stay away from the kitchen until I say it's ready!" Marinette cried. Luka and Juleka were stunned at Marinette Dupain-Cheng, baker and fashion girl, being such a drill sargon before giggling and then shutting the bedroom door.

Luka sighed in delight. "I love that girl!"

Juleka took a moment to squish her brother's lovestruck face with her hands. "I love her too!"

The Couffaine family knew to give Marinette the genius baker girl some space but they couldn't help but press their ears to the door. They heard the oven timer go off and the oven door enthusiastically open and shut. Then, they heard the sound of an electric mixer while Marinette sang a lovely tune. After much more anticipation, Marinette cried triumphantly.

"It's ready! Come and get it, everyone!"

Surprisingly, Anarka was the first to see as Luka and Juleka opened the bedroom door.

"Oh Marinette! This looks delicious!" Anarka said.

Marinette grinned. "It's nothing really!"

Luka and Juleka looked closer and were in awe of the delicious-looking cinnamon rolls covered in elegant purple icing and topped with edible flowers. The whole kitchen smelled like blueberry, lavender, and cinnamon. Marinette moved closer to Luka and Juleka.

"They are blueberry and lavender cinnamon rolls," Marinette said. The loving looks on Luka and Juleka's faces caused Marinette to blush as she looked down. "I was inspired to make this recipe because of…"

Both Luka and Juleka pulled Marinette in for a hug, and Luka gave Marinette many more butterfly kisses than earlier. Juleka's warmth was mixed with the scent of her lavender perfume. Anarka did the honors of cutting out cinnamon rolls for everyone. As much as she would take the entire ceramic pan and head for her bedroom, she had to alert the kids.

"Oi! Why don't you kids come and enjoy Marinette's creation? These cinnamon rolls are so rich that my knife glides right through em!"

Juleka squealed. "You don't have to tell me twice mom!"

As they sat together and had a wonderful conversation over cinnamon rolls, Luka declared these the best ones he had ever eaten. Each bite was bursting with blueberry flavor, and the pretty lavender icing was the perfect complement. Marinette was certainly thinking ahead when she used the biggest ceramic pan in the boathouse because they ate every last cinnamon roll.

But today was a special day. Of course, it was always a special day when Marinette slept over at the houseboat.

Although Marinette couldn't help but lament over one thing as they cleaned the kitchen.

"What's wrong Melody?" Luka asked.

Marinette bit her lip. "I used up all the blueberries to make those cinnamon rolls."

Juleka and Anarka took a moment to smile at each other as Luka wrapped his arm around Marinette. "It was a worthy sacrifice," he said.

Marinette smiled and looked down bashfully. "Yes, but I should really get you guys more blueberries…"

"We could go to the farmer's market together!" Juleka chimed in.

"Aye! That sounds like a wonderful idea to go together rather than alone," Anarka said.

"Well…" Marinette blushed as she hugged Luka's arm. "Ok, let's do it!"

And Marinette had so much fun going to the farmer's market with the Couffaines and befriending the vendors. Of course, there were plenty of fresh blueberries for their humble houseboat. Not to mention, there are beautiful lavenders to decorate with, and Marinette discussed with Juleka the various sweets she could make with lavender.

Marinette certainly thought a lot about what sweet she could make in the future. But it felt so good to make something that reminded her of two people who meant so much to her.

She was getting ahead of herself when she thought about getting high-quality flour and milk to make a blueberry and lavender cake.

"Marinette, is everything alright?" Luka asked.

"Are the wheels in your head turning again?" Juleka asked.

Marinette gasped and turned to see Luka and Juleka smile so fondly at her. She placed her future plan at the back of her mind and smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, I was just lost in thought! Let's get some more flowers and fruit–Like pink roses!"

Luka mused for a moment. "Or dragonfruit and lemons…"

Marinette hugged her boyfriend's arm again. "Oh Luka! You were supportive of Adrien and Kagami from the start! It was always so cute…"

"Well, I can make them something. You inspired me Melody…"

Marinette giggled and felt her heart skip a beat even more as Juleka hugged her free arm, and they continued their quest. Anarka was certainly looking for the best loot and treasures at the farmer's market.

The three of them couldn't have it any other way.
