There's going to be quite a few time jumps in the next few chapters but it'll eventually make sense as to why :) The next chapter will be posted Wednesday or Thursday :) x

7am

Henry woke up to the sound of Rose vomiting, again. He pulled himself out of bed and headed to the bathroom to find her hanging her head over the toilet. "Hey" he said softly as he bent down, beginning to rub her back and reaching for the hair she was holding back. "I think I should get the doctor…" he said quietly. Rose nodded in defeat as she took a deep breath and pushed herself back from the toilet, resting against him. "Can you take the kids to school?" She asked. "Of course… then I'll call for the doctor on my way home" he kissed her head gently. "Thank you…" she said weakly as she began to stand up. "Go back to bed. I'll sort the kids. I'll take Alfie with me to drop Emmy and Charlie off" Henry said as he helped her. "Thanks…" she replied as she began to walk back to bed.

9.15am

Henry arrived home with the Doctor to find Rose sleeping, a bucket beside that he assumed she had placed there in case she vomited. "Rose" he whispered and watched as she screwed up her eyes. "Rose, the Doctor is here" he continued and smiled gently as she opened her eyes. Rose reached out for Henry's arms as he helped her sit up.

"Do you want me to stay?" Henry asked as he watched the Doctor open his brief case. "Yes please" Rose nodded.

9.30am

"Well congratulations both of you… you're expecting" the Doctor smiled, not noticing Rose force her eyes shut to avoid showing her disappointment. Henry froze for a moment before looking down at Rose then back up at the Doctor. "How far along is she?" He asked. "Based on when her last period was, I'd say around 3 months" the Doctor replied as he closed his brief case. "Thank you" Henry gave a small smile. "I'll show you out"

Henry returned a few minutes later to find Rose still sat on the bed, staring at the wall in front of her, not moving her eyes when she felt the mattress dip as he sat down.

"What are you thinking?" Henry asked as he placed a hand on Rose's lower leg. "Nothing" Rose replied quietly. "You must be thinking something, Rose…" Henry pushed. "Fine… I'm thinking can we afford another child? Can we raise another child? How will this affect our other 3 children? How will this affect us?" Rose snapped. "OK… OK…" Henry sighed "we can afford another child, I think deep down you know that. Of course we can raise another. How did Charlie and Alfie being born affect Emilia? How did Alfie being born affect Charlie? It didn't… not really. Sure, it'll be a change and adjustment, but change isn't always a bad thing. As for us, we will get through it… I know this wasn't planned, and it's scary, but we get through everything, Rose. I know that when you get your head around this, it'll be fine" he tried to reassure her. "I need some time on my own" Rose said, finally looking at Henry. "Rose…" Henry started. "Please, Henry. I want to be on my own" Rose said coldly, getting a small nod in response. "I'll be downstairs…" he nodded and closed the door quietly before heading downstairs.

Friday 1st April 1921

Rose collected Emilia and Charlie from school at 3pm like she always did. They headed home and Rose helped Emilia pack a bag as it was 'Dad's weekend', and at 5pm Henry arrived home and took Emilia to Jack's house like their normal routine. Rose would occasionally take her, but Rose and Henry had found that Henry dropping Emilia off whilst Rose prepared tea worked well. It also helped Jack and Rose resist temptation of course.
