Disclaimer: I don't own The Mr. Men or any of its characters, but I do own Mr. Thoughtful.

My name is Mr. Thoughtful. My name is Mr. Thoughtful. Remember that. Can't turn back. New life. New name. Must not be discovered or everyone would turn on me and I'd have to start all over. Again.

Today was Mr. Thoughtful's first official day here. He arrived too late for anyone to notice him last night. He hardly slept, a mix of excitement and nervousness. He was tempted to stay in his bedroom and never leave. But he had to go out sometime. He couldn't shut himself up forever. Even though he very much wanted to.

Taking a deep breath, the Mr. Man climbed out of bed and made his way to the door, entering the hallway. He hesitated outside his bedroom before turning toward the bathroom. He removed his baseball cap and smoothed down his hair before placing his hat back on his head. He used to wear a beanie, but this was a chance for a new look. A new him. He was determined that things would be different this time.

Nobody here knew him and since he changed his name, he can change everything else about himself.

Inhaling deeply, he forced a wave of calmness to wash over him as he exhaled. He'll be okay. He just needs to take it slow and focus on his own thoughts.

That should be easy, he thought sarcastically, but he made himself look on the bright side. There was no need for anyone to find out what he could do. No need for anyone to discover his curse. He just needed to hide his ability and keep his mouth shut.

Let's do this, he thought, and before he could change his mind, Mr. Thoughtful turned and left his bathroom. He didn't let himself hesitate by the front door. He grabbed his stick and opened the door, stepping outside. He could feel the hot sun on his skin and feel the wind blowing. As he made his way forward, he reached out his senses. He stopped at the edge of the street and focused. He didn't feel anyone nearby.

He just needed to take it slow. Start with introducing himself to one person first. He spread his senses farther until he felt the presence of someone. A wave of emotion came over him. He felt a great sense of fear and worry. It almost matched his own fear and worry that he thought it was his feelings, but he's gotten used to figuring out what was his emotions and someone else's.

Bracing himself, he slowly moved forward, keeping to the sidewalk. As he approached the Mr. Man–which he could tell was a Mr. Man by his inner thoughts–he was aware of the stranger's attention landing on him.

Who's that? a thought entered Mr. Thoughtful's mind. Should I go back inside or talk to him?

Pushing past the Mr. Man's feelings, Mr. Thoughtful stopped in front of him. "Hello," he said, reaching out his hand for the Mr. Man to shake. But he didn't feel his touch so he lowered his hand. "I'm Mr… Thoughtful." Alarm shot through him when he almost said his real name. "Who are you?"

Why isn't he looking at me directly? the Mr. Man wondered, and Mr. Thoughtful felt a peek of curiosity. And why are his eyes all cloudy… Oh! Understanding shot through the Mr. Man. He's blind! How does he get around?

Mr. Thoughtful stood there, awkwardly listening to the Mr. Man's thoughts. He acted like he didn't hear anything and he pressed gently," What's your name?"

The Mr. Man jumped in surprise. "Oh… I'm M–Mr. Nervous," he stammered, shifting his feet nervously.

Name fits emotions, Mr. Thoughtful told himself. "Hello, Mr. Nervous," he said.

Where did he come from? Mr. Nervous thought, too shy to ask that question out loud.

Casually, Mr. Thoughtful said," I'm new to Dillydale, and I was hoping to get to know someone. Do you live close by?" It would be useful to know who lived near him.

"O-Over t-there," Mr. Nervous stammered, and then almost immediately thought, He can't see you pointing! "I-I live in the l-light h-house right here."

Mr. Thoughtful smiled. "Oh lovely," he said conversationally. There was a short pause, in which Mr. Thoughtful read in Mr. Nervous' mind if he should excuse himself or try to talk to this Mr. Man. He could feel how awkward he felt, and Mr. Thoughtful was just as awkward, so he decided to end it for both of their sakes.

"It was nice meeting you, Mr. Nervous," said the blind Mr. Man, and he slipped past him, casting his senses to feel what was in front of him. He could feel Mr. Nervous watching him walk away before the nervous Mr. Man turned and went on his way. Mr. Thoughtful sighed to himself. "So the first person I met was awkward," he murmured out loud. "But not unpleasant. I liked him."

He continued down the sidewalk, using his walking stick to feel in front of him to make sure he didn't bump into anything or stray into the road, while also casting his senses to pick up anyone else nearby. Somehow he missed someone standing right in his way because he felt his stick hit something and someone yelped," Ow!"

Surprised, Mr. Thoughtful jumped back. "I'm so sorry!" he blurted.

Annoyance and then surprise lit in the newcomer's mind. "Who are you?" he asked.

"My name is Mr. Thoughtful," he replied. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mr. Bump." There was a pause. "Didn't you see me standing here?" he asked, and then he gasped and thought, He can't see!

Mr. Thoughtful shifted positions self-consciously. "I'm sorry about that. I'm new here, and I was hoping to meet a few people. Please forgive me for hitting you."

Immediately sympathy entered the other Mr. Man's mind. "Oh, don't worry about it," he said, and he felt him lay his hand on him and instantly Mr. Thoughtful was swept into a different scene. He was walking through a construction site, aware that he was taking a short cut, but he knew he wasn't looking through his eyes because he could see.

Suddenly he heard someone yell, and he looked up to see a metal beam falling above him and before he could react, it landed on his head. The pain jerked him out of Mr. Bump's body and back into his own. He blinked, getting used to the blackness again.

He could feel Mr. Bump staring at him, worried. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"Y-Yeah," Mr. Thoughtful stammered. He took a deep breath and then, as casually as he could, he said," Maybe you should take another route to work today?"

Mr. Bump started in surprise. "I-I was going to cut through the construction site today," he admitted. "It's a short cut, and I'm already running late."

"Just… please find another way," Mr. Thoughtful begged him. "Just trust me. Any other way would be safer."

"Oh…" Mr. Thoughtful could feel the other man's mind racing: Should I trust him? I just met him! Why does he seem so certain that I shouldn't cut through the construction site? Then the Mr. Man said," Okay, I'll find another way to get to work. Goodbye," he called as he turned and headed back the way he came.

Mr. Thoughtful sighed with relief that he believed him. His abilities can be annoying at times or frustrating, but on rare occasions like now he was thankful for them, if he can warn others of possible danger.

He took a deep breath. He met two Mr. Men today. It was a good start, but he wanted to go back home now and just be by himself for a bit. He turned to head back to his house, only to run into something. He had been so distracted by Mr. Bump leaving that he didn't realize someone had snuck up on him. He reached out with his senses. Two Mr. Men stood in his way: One was rather large and the other really small. He could feel the larger one burning with curiosity to know who he was. The other one was really curious, too, but he had a quiet curiosity about him.

"Hello, who are you?" the larger Mr. Man asked. "Where did you come from? Are you new to Dillydale? What's your name?"

All the questions he was saying out loud and the unspoken questions spinning in his mind was almost too much for Mr. Thoughtful to handle. He took a step back and pulled in his senses until he could only hear the outward questions.

"I-I'm M-Mr. Thoughtful," he stammered, his head still spinning. He focused on the two in front of him. "Who are you?" he asked them.

"I'm Mr. Small," the small man introduced himself. "And this here is Mr. Nosy. So, are you new in town?" Mr. Small went on almost immediately.

"Y-Yes," Mr. Thoughtful said. "I just got here last night, and–"

"What's this for?" Mr. Nosy suddenly asked, snatching the walking stick out of Mr. Thoughtful's hands. Instantly Mr. Thoughtful felt uttered blind. At least with his stick and his senses he could stop himself from bumping into things, usually. But having the stick ripped out of his hands felt like having a limb chopped off.

He stumbled forward. "P-Please give that back," he begged, spreading his senses to feel where the Mr. Men were.

Understanding hit him and he was aware that Mr. Small realized he was blind. "Give it back, Mr. Nosy," the small man told him. "He needs it."

Feeling curious, Mr. Nosy handed him back the walking stick and Mr. Thoughtful was glad to feel it in his hands again. He felt Mr. Small staring at him, but he made no comment about his blindness, even though he thought, I never met someone blind before. I wonder how he gets around.

Taking a deep breath, Mr. Thoughtful thanked Mr. Nosy and then said," I was just heading home. It was nice meeting you," he added, carefully slipping past them.

"Do you need help getting home?" Mr. Small asked, and Mr. Thoughtful felt annoyed that he didn't think he could get home by himself. He might have just moved in, but he could feel things around him and knew where stuff was. He could almost picture it inside his mind. He had to past Mr. Nervous' house which he could feel looming over him and remembered him saying he lived in a lighthouse. And then his house was next door to his.

"Thank you, but no," Mr. Thoughtful replied. "I can get back home."

Determined to prove himself, he walked forward, well aware of the Mr. Men staring after him the whole time he made his way back home. He turned onto his sidewalk, feeling the shape of his house in front of him and he sighed with relief when he stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He could feel his surroundings in front of him and moved forward to his couch where he sat down. He was exhausted, and he barely met anyone. He wondered if coming to Dillydale was a good idea after all.

He was terrified news of his powers would get out and spread like in his old town. He shuddered and laid down, deciding to take a nap.

He opened his eyes to see his old town spread out before him, but it felt like he was floating. He could hear voices nearby.

"Did you hear what he could do?" someone asked.

"Beyond creepy!" someone answered. "I hate the thought of him listening to my every thought!"

"Yeah, he always came off as weird, but now…"

Suddenly the scene changed and he found himself in his old house. He saw himself cleaning his house and then there was a knock at the door, and his other self went to answer it. From where Mr. Thoughtful stood–or floated?- he couldn't see who was at the door, but he knew who it was, and he could hear voices.

"Is it true?" someone asked.

"Can you read minds and see the future?" someone else demanded.

Mr. Thoughtful's old self looked horrified. "Where did you hear that?" he asked.

"It's all over town now, and nobody feels safe with you here anymore. You need to leave, Mr. Foreteller."

"Foreteller!" someone else snarled. "With a name like that, we should have guessed you weren't normal!"

The scene in front of Mr. Thoughtful faded and he woke on his couch in Dillydale. He felt something wet sliding down his face, and he wiped away the tears. He's had that same dream every night since he was forced to leave his old town. Suddenly determination hit him. He will not let the same thing that happened to him before happen to him ever again. He was going to make his new home here in DIllydale and make lots of friends and nobody will ever find out what he can do, he vowed.

Note: Mr. Thoughtful's powers are based on Jayfeather's abilities from Warriors by Erin Hunter, and Moonwatcher's powers from Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland, and also he is blind like Jayfeather. I might have added an ability or two in there that they don't have, but I love Jayfeather and Moon and their powers and wanted so badly to make a Mr. Man with their powers.

I hope you all enjoy this and I'll update it as soon as I can.
