{Pre A/N}
Hello everyone! Uh, new guy here! TafuTofu at your service!
Welcome to my very first piece of fanfiction! Actually, my first piece of fiction ever...
You know, I've always wanted to write a story, any story, really. But I never quite knew how to start. Sometimes it was a lack of motivation... other times, just plain old laziness. Until today!
So welcome to Sonic in Avalice! My first ever story! Hope you guys enjoy and please, please bear with me as I am not a native English speaker, so grammatical errors are to be expected, I hope you understand.
Why am I still talking? Enjoy the story already!
…Or not, who knows?

Prologue: A Looming Threat of Old and New
PLANET EARTH
AVALICE ARCHIPELAGO
Shuigang Island – Palace, Night Hours
A palace looms under the clear, starry sky. This palace is the heart of Shuigang. Its green roof, covered with snow, glistens under the moonlight. The palace's walls are reinforced with the finest materials known to Avalice. The interior walls are adorned with intricate carvings depicting the history of the Shuigang dynasty, while tall, jade-colored pillars support the structure. It is said that these walls and the army make it one of the most impenetrable places in all of Avalice.
That was… until now.
A young male panda with striking white and black fur walks quietly through the halls, dressed in regal green robes accented with gold, with a yellow scarf tied at his waist alongside a sleek sword. His brown eyes are full of wisdom and courage. He is Prince Dail of Shuigang, the son of the king and heir to the throne.
Having completed his royal duties, Dail finally decides to take a well-deserved rest as he strolls through the palace halls. His mind drifts to thoughts of sleep when an unfamiliar noise disrupts the peace. It sounds like an engine, a mechanical hum. He looks to see the guards inspecting a strange green light emanating from the floor.
The tranquil night is suddenly shattered as a gargantuan green ship bursts through the palace floors. The ship, bearing an insect-like design, begins to march forward, tearing through the jade-colored pillars with brutal force. Soldiers and guards scramble, caught off guard by the sudden invasion. Strange robotic creatures drop from the ship.
The robots stand on two legs with green visors that display a single eye. They carry what appear to be rifles and begin shooting at the soldiers, who shoot back. It's a disaster.
Dail is momentarily frozen by the sheer chaos, but he quickly snaps into action. "You metallic abominations, how dare you defile the sacred halls of Shuigang!" he shouts, his voice resonating with authority and courage as a green aura envelops him. In a fluid motion, he unsheathes his sword and charges at the intruders, his blade slicing through two robots before they can react. As the aura dissipates, he looks at the fallen machines with disdain. "Pathetic. Now I must warn Father before… What?!"
His sentence is cut short as more robots appear, raising their rifles at him and blasting lasers. Dail tries to evade the attacks, dodging the lasers of the cyclops-like robots with his green energy. He moves swiftly, slicing through another pair of cyclops robots with precise movements. He turns to see more of the invaders—red and blue ladybug-like creatures and purple caterpillars—advancing on him. He is honestly baffled by their designs.
Dail leaps into the air, slashing through two ladybug robots, their mechanical parts scattering across the palace floor. He spins around to deflect a barrage of laser fire from a cyclops robot. For a moment, it seems he might gain the upper hand.
But as he lands, a hornet-like robot dives at him, its metallic wings buzzing menacingly as it shoots a laser from its stinger.
"Gah!" Dail exclaims as the impact sends him sprawling across the floor. He struggles to rise, his eyes locking onto the advancing horde. He can do nothing but silently curse himself for not dodging the attack. He closes his eyes, waiting for the final blow... but he notices that they have stopped in front of him.
He slowly opens his eyes, confused as to why they didn't finish the job. He looks up from the floor as one of the cyclops gestures for him to stand, realizing that they intend to escort him to the throne room.
Shuigang Palace – Throne Room
The walk to the throne room is agonizingly slow, filled with the sounds of battle and the clanking of robotic limbs. Dail's heart sinks as he witnesses his soldiers being overwhelmed and slaughtered. He can hardly bear it.
As they approach the throne room, they suddenly hear strange sounds from the other side of the grand wooden door—the sounds of an intense battle. The cyclops rush to open the doors, but just then, the grand wooden doors are flung open, revealing a scene of utter devastation.
The throne room is a scene of chaos and destruction. Several cyclops lie destroyed on the floor, sparks flying from their broken bodies. The once grand hall is marred by a gaping hole in the roof, with moonlight streaming in. Jade pillars are shattered, and the walls are scorched and scarred from the battle.
Amidst the destruction, two figures remain locked in combat. The first is an elderly panda, his white fur and brown beard giving him an air of wisdom. He is the King of Shuigang, dressed in the kingdom's traditional green armor accented with yellow. His eyes are sharp and determined. He wields a massive silver double-edged battle axe with a green gem inlaid in its head, swinging it with surprising agility for his age as he strikes at what appears to be the only being with flesh in the entire invasion—an alien.
Towering and imposing, the alien's skin is a sickly green, his eyes blood-red with a predatory gleam. He wears metallic orange and grey armor, with a brown cape flowing behind him. His expression is one of cold amusement and irritation as he parries the king's strikes with a small blade dripping green liquid.
Right now, the King of Shuigang and the alien menace are engaged in a fierce battle. The king swings his axe with ferocity, while the alien blocks without breaking a sweat. The clang of metal on metal echoes through the hall as they clash. The cyclops are about to intervene when the alien stops them.
"Stay back, Shade Troopers!" the alien commands, halting the robotic reinforcements. "I must teach this foolish king a lesson in hospitality." The Shade Troopers obediently cease their advance.
The king seizes the opportunity, launching a fierce attack as he intends to cut the alien in two. The alien deflects the blows with practiced ease, his grin widening with each clash of metal.
"You truly are resilient, old man," the alien taunts, dodging another swing. "But your time is over!"
The king, undeterred, continues his assault. With each clash, the floor shakes, and more debris falls from the ceiling. The king lands a glancing blow on the alien's armor, sparks flying as metal meets metal.
"Grrr, give up and surrender, creature! No matter how long you fight, you will end up losing. With the sacred gem that I hold, you are nothing but a thorn in my side!" the king says with determination.
Dail watches with a mix of awe and fear as his father battles with everything he has. He wishes he could help, but the robots surrounding him make any movement impossible.
"Enough of this," the alien finally snaps, his voice cold. He signals to the ceiling. From above, the sound of a jet engine is heard, and a blue blur descends, smashing through the floor and sending the king flying across the room. The force of the impact shatters the throne, and the king lies motionless amidst the debris.
"FATHER!" Dail screams, his voice breaking with despair. He looks up to see the new arrival—a sleek, menacing robot, more unique than the rest.
Its blue metallic body shines under the moonlight streaming through the hole in the roof. Its head has metal fins resembling quills and triangular ears, with a muzzle, silver shoulder pads, red feet, and sharp fingers that could shred through flesh with ease. Its torso is adorned with what looks like a yellow jet engine. But what scares Dail the most are its eyes—void black sclera with two red dots mimicking eyes, filled with pure anger and hatred.
"Ah, Metal Sonic, right on schedule," the alien says with a smirk. "The Doctor did not exaggerate your efficiency. Now, if you would be so kind?" He gestures toward the king's battle axe, now lying on the floor. Metal Sonic approaches, his movements precise and calculated. He picks up the axe, removes the green gem, and hands it to the alien. Then, with a single motion, he snaps the weapon in half, discarding the pieces that clatter to the floor.
Dail watches as the alien holds the green gem, the gift that fell from the sky many months ago, and carefully observes it. The alien's eyes gleam with a twisted sense of satisfaction and greed as he admires its glow.
"So, this is a Chaos Emerald," he muses. "It's hard to believe that something so small could hold such immense power… And to think you were using it as a mere ornament!" He sneers, breaking the remains of the axe with a stomp and approaching the king's fallen form.
Dail, restrained by the robots, watches in horror. The Chaos Emerald—a gem of unimaginable power—is now in the hands of a merciless conqueror.
The alien approaches the king, his eyes gleaming with malice. "But do not despair, your majesty. I will put this to far better use than you ever could," he says, signaling to Metal Sonic to hoist the king to his knees.
"And hey, look at the benefit of our battle. Your precious son just witnessed the greatest spectacle of his life." The alien taunts, pointing at Dail.
As he mentions Dail's name, the king lifts his head and looks at his son, who is surrounded. "DAIL!" he exclaims in horror as he sees his son.
"I-I'm sorry, Father. I tried!" It's the only thing Dail can say, shame in his voice.
"YOU!" The king looks at Brevon with anger in his eyes. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM US?" he yells, still struggling to get a hold of himself.
"Now we are talking…" the alien smiles as he begins his speech. "You see, I, Lord Arktivus Brevon, am here in good faith. I see this pitiful kingdom struggling and wanted to give it a lift," the alien now named Brevon says calmly. "And to give such a lift, I will impart my knowledge. And who better to receive my knowledge than your son?" He takes out his blade, green acid dripping down.
" No…" Dail whispers, realizing what is about to happen.
"It will make him the most powerful ruler..." Brevon continues, his voice calm and assured, slowly raising the blade.
" NO!" Dail struggles against his captors, his green aura flaring.
"And he will answer to no one but ME!" Brevon brings the blade down.
"NO!" Dail's final cry echoes through the hall.
With a swift move, Brevon decapitates the king. The king's head rolls to the ground as Metal Sonic lets the rest of his body collapse. The hall falls silent, the air thick with the stench of blood.
Dail's world shatters. The king, his father, lies dead before him, slain by an alien invader, with no remorse, no mercy.
"No..." Dail lets out a faint cry as tears begin to form in his eyes. Then, he lets his anger consume him. "MURDERER!" Dail roars, his voice raw with grief and rage. He surges forward, his green aura blazing like a wildfire, no other thought but to end the alien.
But before he can even reach Brevon, Metal Sonic intercepts him, grabbing him by the neck. Dail struggles, his eyes blazing with hatred, but Metal Sonic's grip is unyielding. The robot lifts its free hand and wiggles its index finger, mocking him. The red dots in its eyes flicker with sadistic pleasure.
"Now, now, Metal, no need to be rough," Brevon says, his tone mocking. He takes Dail from Metal Sonic, holding him in a vice-like grip. "Now, do me a favor and give the Chaos Emerald to the good Doctor, yes?" Brevon hands the Chaos Emerald to Metal Sonic. The blue robot then looks up at the hole in the roof as he activates his flight mode, roaring his engine.
"As for you, my dear prince, let me introduce you to the Snatcher." At Brevon's command, another robot floats into the room. It is an ominous, oval-shaped machine with a singular green eye and tentacle-like arms.
Dail's mind races, desperate for a way out, but his body betrays him. He can only curse Brevon, Metal Sonic, and himself. He watches as Metal Sonic, holding the Chaos Emerald, ascends through the hole in the roof. The roar of the jet engine drowns out Dail's scream of anguish.
" AHHHHHHHH!"
Dail's scream of agony is completely overpowered by the roar of Metal Sonic's departure, leaving an eerie silence in its wake.
Avalice Archipelago – Shang Tu Royal Palace, Night Hours
In another part of the archipelago, on another island, the Shang Tu Royal Palace stands as a beacon of elegance and power. Its pristine white walls and dark blue roof create a striking contrast against the night sky. On one of the palace's balconies, a solitary figure stands in quiet contemplation.
This man, dressed in royal blue robes with accents of sky blue and yellow, wears a ceremonial helmet that casts a shadow over his face, leaving only his piercing purple eyes visible. This is the Royal Magister, the wise and respected leader of Shang Tu.
The Magister solemnly gazes out over the city. He turns to the blue gem in his fingers, which is a similar color to his wardrobe, the moonlight casting a soft glow on the gem.
A soft knock interrupts his thoughts, and the Magister turns to see a female panda entering the room. She has long black hair styled in a bob cut. Her robes are a deep purple, adorned with intricate patterns, and she wears a white godet. This is Neera Li, one of the Magister's trusted advisors and a figure of authority within the palace.
"Magister? It's getting late," Neera says, her voice respectful but tinged with concern as she steps forward.
"Ah, Neera," the Magister greets her, his voice deep and soothing. "It is getting late, isn't it? Yes, I will soon retire to my chamber. I was just... contemplating."
Neera tilts her head slightly, her eyes narrowing with worry. "Is it about the Kingdom Stone, your majesty?" she cautiously asks.
The Magister sighs. "In part, yes. The rising tensions between the kingdoms are troubling. But… I can't shake the feeling that something bigger is going to happen."
Neera steps closer, her expression serious. "Should we be worried?" she asks.
The Magister pauses. After a moment, he shakes his head. "No," he says, his voice firm yet reassuring. "It's just a feeling, a premonition of sorts. But for now, there's no need for alarm. You've done well, Neera. You've been vigilant in these uncertain times."
Neera bows slightly, accepting his words with a mix of relief and respect. "Thank you, Magister. I will continue to keep a close eye on the situation."
The Magister nods, his gaze returning to the cityscape. "Please do. And ensure the guards are vigilant; we must be prepared for anything."
Neera straightens, her resolve clear in her eyes. "Of course, Magister." She hesitates for a moment, then adds, "Good night, sir."
"Good night, Neera," the Magister replies, his voice gentle. He watches as she leaves.
Once alone again, the Magister looks back at the gem, lost in thought. The blue gem reflects the moonlight, casting an ethereal glow. The Magister sighs softly, feeling the calm before a storm—a premonition of challenges yet to come. As the leader of Shang Tu, he must be vigilant, for the peace of Avalice rests on the shoulders of its leaders.
The Magister raises the blue gem one last time to the moonlight, watching its blue light shine.
"Something big indeed," he murmurs to himself, his voice barely above a whisper.
{Post A/N}
So how was that for a first attempt? Good? Bad? Im not really sure myself.
But what I am really sure is for the reason for this to exist.
I like crossovers, seeing two worlds that I like meeting with each other is fantastic concept that I love, but there is one specific type of crossover that I really, REALLY love.
Sure the one where world A meets world B via a multidimensional accident are fun an all, but I love when writers and authors mesh together both world in the same setting, as if they existed besides each other from the start!
That's exactly what I aimed to do here. I hope you guys stay for the ride, because this is going to be a long one!
…Or a short one I am kinda making this stuff on the fly…
Welp, we will see, expect at least a chapter once or twice a week, though I can't make any promises, this is just a hobby in the end and classes are about to start soon. Joy…
But anyways, hope you guys enjoyed and until next time!
