The day all the children have been waiting for
Making their karts in preparation for their very first race
Ch.6 Kart Making
(Morning after last chapter)
Vanellope's alarm would go off waking both her and Rancis
Rancis would rub his eyes as Vanellope would sit up and stretch
"Wonder if the kids are awake?" Ranics would ask
"They've both been awake for 2 hours exactly…going over final kart designs…Lucy's kart seems to be interesting…" Copy Vanellope would state as she'd enter the room
"I guess it's the same for the others…now Copy…is breakfast ready?" Vanellope would ask
"It's being put on the table as we speak your majesty…" Copy would reply
"Perfect…"
(Meanwhile)
Torvald would be making breakfast as Lodhi would walk into the kitchen and get a cup of coffee
"Hey honey…sleep well?"
"As good as alvays…ze kids are downstairs in ze simulator…it's like having 2 new siblings suddenly appear…vas nosing…"
"Well to be fair…it did appear that for some reason or other…Martin, Ricky and Ryan seem to have some sort of connection to them…as if they had always been there…"
"Vich makes no logical sense…"
"We're video game avatars in a video game with video game logic…you need to remember that…"
"True…"
Lodhi would head down to the lab and see his now 5 children all seated in a chair, a helmet on their heads and a steering wheel in their hands
He'd look at his monitor and see the 5 racing through the Gumball Gorge portion of the Royal Raceway
"Heinz…anything new?"
"No sir…zere driving styles remain ze same…Norville, Christie and Jr remain aggressive as ever…zough…Ryan and Ricky…seemed to be ze same vay…but vizout a large sample of simulations to vork viz…I can't determine zeir driving styles…"
"Vell…ve shall found out later today zen…"
(Elsewhere)
Sebastian would wake and go down to the kitchen and see Hope, Faith and Martin playing at the dinner table as Annie would be making breakfast while talking to Kit who'd be sitting on the counter behind her
"So they just randomly appeared yesterday?" The bunny would ask
"Yea apparently Lucy was messing with the code…and activated their code boxes that had been laying dormant in the games code…"
"You seem to say that…with a bit of sadness…"
"Well I mean…technically I had a kid that didn't exist…and had it not been for Lucy he would've never seen the light of day…it bothers me…"
"I get that but it's not like you could have done anything…"
"Atleast he's here now…Hope and Faith already love him…" Annie would smile and look at her children at the dinner table
Kit would look at them
"Martin definitely has his father's mouth and nose…your eyes and hair…wonder who's driving style he'll have?"
"Not sure but he's just as talkative as Sebastian…"
Sebastian would walk into the kitchen
"Good morning the both of you…how did y'all sleep?"
"Just fine…" Kit would respond with a smile
"As great as ever…" Annie would respond
(2 hours later)
Everyone would meet at the entrance to the Kart making factory
All eyes would turn to Lucy who'd be rocking a new look
She'd wear a pink shirt with a red sour patch kid on the front, a dark blue Jean jacket, and a pearl necklace, she'd still wear her black boots, brown candy wrapper skirt, and pink and blue striped socks, her favorite necklace and bracelets on her right arm. with a purple digital watch on her left arm, as well as her cherry earrings.
"New look Lucy?" Christie would be the first to ask
"Yup…thought a new look would do well…"
"It definitely does…"
Vanellope would clear her throat
"I'm sure if we don't enter the factory within the next minute some of our children may de-spawn from over excitement…so let's get in there and I'll explain on the way…"
Everyone would enter the factory and make their way down a hallway to a room
"Nelly…this isn't the regular kart making room…"
"Well the last one was never repaired after me and Ralph broke it apart…so I had a new one made specifically for the children so they could design the karts they wanted…"
There'd be several chairs lined up against the wall each chair bearing the name of a child
All the children would rush into their assigned chairs, a large holographic screen would appear infront of them
Vanellope would explain how to design their karts as Annie would pull Lodhi to the side
"Hey bro…I can't help but wonder…are there any side effects that Ryan, Ricky and Martin might suffer from?"
"I've checked…so has Vanellope…we haven't noticed anysing…"
"You sure they're perfectly fine?"
"I ran some tests…notsing appeared to be vrong…"
(A while later)
The children would finish designing their karts and the machine on the other side of the room would turn on and begin making their karts
The children would jump around excited
Lucy would look at Christie
"So what does your kart look like?"
"You'll find out Lucy…"
"Common this machine is testing my patience…"
"It's been a minute Lucy…calm down please…"
"Fine…" Lucy would sigh
The machine's bell would suddenly ring as a large door would open sending steam throughout the room
When everyone would turn their attention they'd see all the newly made karts
The children would rush over to their custom karts
Vanellope would walk up to the first kart with a clip board and list in one hand a pen in the other
She'd go to Lucy's kart first
"Mother I present you the Sweet Revenge…"
Her kart would be a hybrid of Vanellopes candy kart mixed with a light cycle from TRON, the kart being light blue with sour candies covering it. The cycles body covers the middle of the kart
"Nice name…great design…"
She'd go over to Kevin
"This is the Choconator…"
The kart would look exactly like Vanellopes, except it would be made completely out of chocolate
Vanellope would go to Lodhi Jr
"Zis is ze Red Missile…"
Jr's kart would be exactly like his father's kart the main difference would be the middle part of the kart would be Golden in color while both ends and wings would be bright red
Vanellope would go to Christie
"Zis is ze Crimson Glider…"
The kart would look exactly like Torvald's, the kart's color would be Crimson Red just like her outfit, like her mother's kart there'd be a spoiler on the rear of the kart, however on Christie's it'd be twice as large and there'd be an additional wing on the front end of the kart
Vanellope would right the name down. "Interesting…"
She'd head over to Norville
"I call it…the Golden Rider…"
The kart would be shaped into a large V, it'd have 2 large front wheels with one large rear wheel at the very tip of the back end of the kart, and as the name entails the entire kart would gold in color
"Impressive…a 3-wheeler kart…"
The next up would be Ryan
"I call it ze Ice Thriller…"
The kart would be a large Wafer cone his rear wheels would be large scoops of chocolate ice cream, his front wheels would be small scroops of strawberry ice cream, on the rear of the kart would be a spoiler seen on Plymouth Superbirds which would be made of Candy Canes.
"Very nice…"
Vanellope would be move on to Ricky
"Ze Dragster…"
The body of the kart would be a large Sugar cone, the rear wheels would be large while the front ones would be small, all 4 would be made of Rocky Road ice cream, he's have the same rear spoiler as Ryan which would also be made from a Candy Cane
"Great…"
Vanellope would move onto Ella
"This is the Wonder Wrecker…"
The body of the Kart would be a Reese bar shaped into a Gen-4 NASCAR body just like her father's, her wheels would be Jaw Breakers cut into regular wheels, the kart's color would be Teal
"Great kart…"
Vanellope would move onto Vick
"This is the Fro-Twix…"
The body of the Kart would be a Twix bar molded into a cone like Snowanna's kart, like his mother the engine would be resting infront of the cone, his wheels would be made of rainbow colored Jaw breakers, the outside of the cone would be colored dark gold, the inside would be bright red
"Another great design…"
Carl would be up next
"I call it the Sweet Wall…"
The Kart itself would be an exact replica of Marcy's, the top part of the body of the kart, front and rear wings would be purple, while the sides would be black with a bright red strip running horizontally across
"Intriguing…" Vanellope would mark it on her chart
Sophie would rub her kart
"This is the Pie Fighter…"
The kart would be a pie molded to be a replica of Akio's kart, the front and rear wings would be made of purple wafers, the wheels would be made of Vanilla ice cream, the body of the kart would be a dark purple
"Nice…" Vanellope would check something on her chart and move on
Olivia would sit on a rear wheel of her kart
"This is the Cookie Crusher…"
The body of the kart would be a stick of raw cookie dough shaped into a Maserati 250F driven by Juan Manual Fangio, the wheels would be Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies, the steering wheel would be a large chocolate chip cookie,.
"Now that is an amazing design…" Vanellope would mark it down and move on to the next child
Floyd would be next
"Had a joke for this but can't remember it…anyway this is the Corny Speedster…"
The body of the kart would be a large candy corn shaped into a replica of Taffyta's kart, the rear of the kart would be yellow, the middle would be bright orange and the very front of the kart would be white
"Noted…" Vanellope would glance over the kart and second time before moving on
Nya would hop around her kart
"Call it the Berry Blister!"
The kart would be a Strawberry laying horizontally with a small cockpit dug out of the middle, her wheels would be made of gum drops, a large spoiler made of candy canes would rest on the rear of the kart
"Nice name…hopefully it lives up to it…" Vanellope would comment
Linke Bing Bing would jump up and down excited
"I call it the Red Rocket!"
The body of the kart would be a red double popsicle with the 2 sticks removed, there'd be a large spoiler on the back of her kart which would be made of a large popsicle stick, her wheels would be red mints
"A lot of kart names based on speed…I have high hopes…" Vanellope wold state
Linder sit next to his kart
"I call it the Sugar Rocket…"
The body of the kart would be a blue double popsicle, the kart would have front and rear wings, popsicle sticks being used for both, the wheels would be made of white mints.
"Alright…" Vanellope would write it down and move on
Nikki would stand beside her kart
"I call it the Green Mint…"
The kart would be a replica of Swizzle's, the top of the kart would bright green, the sides would be yellow, the wheels would be a mix of green and yellow mints, the rear wing would be made of a large wafer.
"Nice…" Vanellope would move on
Charles would sit on the hood of his kart
"I call it the Thrill Seeker…"
The kart would be a replica of Minty's kart, the entire kart would be colored blue with several light green strips running the length of the kart, the large rear wheels would be colored green and white, the smaller front wheels would be colored blue and white
"Another nice one…" Vanellope would state
Mercurio would glance at his kart
"I call it the Drifter…"
The kart would be a large cake shaped into a replica of Crumbelina's kart, the wheels would be green mint ice cream that would be placed in the body of the kart making them very hard to hit, there'd be a rear wing made of candy canes placed on the rear of the kart
"I like it…" Vanellope would state
Martin would already be sitting in his kart
"This here is The Fudge…"
The body of the kart would be a Vachon Triple Fudge Brownie, the wheels would be made of large Two-Bite Brownies, her seat would be a Two-Bite Brownie with the back being made of a Triple Fudge Brownie, a spoiler made of a Triple Fudge Brownie would be placed on the very end of the kart
"Good name, I like the design…"
Faith would be sitting on a wheel of her kart
"The Sweet Speedster…"
The karts body would be a large two-bite brownie with the inside dug out for the cockpit, the seat would be made entirely of a Triple Fudge Brownie, the steering wheel would be made of a Two-Bite brownie, her wheels would be made of two-bite brownies
"I like the design…I really do…" Vanellope would state and move onto the last person
Hope would chuckle looking at her kart
"I call it the Fudge Bike…"
The bike would be a Triple Fudge Brownie molded into a bike, the wheels would be Two-Bite Brownies, the handle bars would be made of Triple Fudge Brownies
Vanellope would stare for a while. "I'll admit…I was genuinely surprised by Norville's 3-wheeler…but I'm both shocked and amazed your going with a bike…that'll be a joy to watch…"
Hope would bow. "Thank you!"
Vanellope would finish writing and turn to everyone else
"Well kart design and names have been written down and are marked…all that's left is to check the code…while I do that…children…you can go line up at the Royal Raceway…and parents…you all sit in the Royal box…"
Vanellope and Lodhi would go to the code as the children would jump into their karts and speed off leaving all the parents in the factory
"Guess we're walking?" Swizzle would ask
"Yes we're walking…" Sticky would reply
