Chapter 5: Enter The Legion of Five

The Golden Guard was following Kikimora to Emperor Belos's throne room. They opened the door and saw his uncle sitting onto his throne, but he looked tired and weak again.

Golden Guard: Uncle...

Emperor Belos put his finger up to give him a minute. One of his guards approached him, giving him a palisman, this one resembling a falcon. He ripped it open and poured it's essence into his eye sockets, restoring him once again.

Emperor Belos: Aah, much better.

Golden Guard: Uncle, you called for me.

Emperor Belos: Yes dear nephew, I though you should be here to welcome the rest of our top coven members back.

Golden Guard: The Legion of Five?

Emperor Belos: Yes, it's been a while since I needed their help. For a while Lilith seemed to had everything under control until she betrayed us. I know you're formidable witch and leader yourself, but I know things are starting to stir up. I can't have anything interfere with our plans again.

Kikimora: My lord, they're here.

Emperor Belos: Open the doors.

Two coven guards opened the doors at the entrance of the throne room. The Golden Guard and Kikimora stood side by side with Belos as they witnessed their commrades entering one by one.

The first was a tall blue humanoid, about up to Belos's shoulders and wears purple robes with white pointed shoulder pads,black gloves and wears gold chains around his neck. His face was blue with a third eye, had a Fu Manchu beard and mustache, wears a pointed black hat with gold tassels hanging on it and what appears to be small white wings on it. He had six fingers on each hand with multiple rings. He carries a staff that resembles a paintbrush and his clothes made him a bit bulky.

Mikela: Emperor Belos. How wonderful to see you again my lord. Your favorite artist Mikela is here.

The second figure came next. He was a strange looking creature, he was a big and tall ameoba like demon with black and white robes and gold shoulder pads. His right arm had arm guard of piano keys and his back had harp like wings. His face is only a large ruby eye, no mouth, nose or ears. His head is a pink crystalized brain with a huge crown of tall gold spikes sitcking out. He was big and bulky do to his size and his clothes. He was taller than Belos himself. He spoke with british accent.

Voffa: Forgive the arrogance of my brother my lord. But you're maestro Voffa has returned to appease you with my musical numbers.

The next member to enter was a woman. She had an hourglass shape body with extremely pale skin, stood about the same height as Eda and Lilith, had snake like eyes that are pale yellow and midnight blue hair that is pulled into a bun. She wore a simple green dress and black boots and had a belt of potions around her waist, with a silver cloak. As she entered she had a snake around her resembling a python.

Selene: Greetings my Emperor. I hope that I, Selene Crimson will be of assistance. Isn't that right Kaa?

Her python Kaa hissed in response and turned into a staff, revealing to be her palisman.

Finally the last figure entered, he was mysterious figure. He entered the room, wearing only a brown medievel monk robe. He was hooded and no one could see his face. The only thing you could see of his body were his golden hands and his glowing yellow eyes. He spoke in a calm, but sinister and dark tone.

Shadam: It is an honor to be back Emperor Belos. I Shadam, will do whatever it takes to help you.

The door closes as the four of them kneeled to Emperor Belos. He stared at them for a moment and saw something was not right.

Emperor Belos: Hmm, something is not right here. One of you is missing. Where is Satarakura?

Mikela: He never showed up my lord.

Voffa: We waited while for him.

Selene: He must of flaked out on us.

Kikimora: This is unnacceptable. He was given orders to return and he bails.

Suddenly Steve the Coven Scout enters.

Steve the scout: Excuse me my lord, but we just got this box delivered in front our doorstep, it says it's from Satarakura.

Emperor Belos: Is that so, bring it here.

Steve the guard: Bring it in boys.

The two coven guards Carl and Earl are see carrying a huge crate in.

Earl the guard: It's so heavy Carl.

Carl the guard: Just hang on Earl. Almost there don't let go.

The two drop the crate down, a bit too hard.

Earl the guard: Oh, hope nothing broke.

Carl the guard: This was delivered in front of the castle my lord. It was mailed to all of you.

Emperor Belos: I see, that will be all. You're dismissed.

Steve, Earl and Carl: Yes my lord.

The three guards leave as the others except Belos approach the crate. Selene saw a letter on top and reads it.

Mikela: A note.

Voffa: What does it say?

Selene: Dear Commrades,

Unfortunatly I was unable to make it to our gathering due to very important buisness. I apologize for my absense, especially you my Emperor and hope the gifts I got will make up for it.

- Satarakura

Golden Guard: Gifts? What gifts?

They open the crate up and inside were six red presents each labled with a card.

Mikela: He-Hey presents. Which is mine? Which is mine?

Each of them looked for their own present.

Golden Guard: Let's see now. To our best new leader the Golden Guard. Hmm, I guess that's mine.

Mikela: To the greastest artist in the Boiling Isles ( silent chuckles).

Voffa: To the magnificent musician in the Boiling Isles.

Selene: To the lovely potion maker. My what a gentleman.

Shadam: To the wisest oracle. Hmm.

Kikimora: And me, to the best assistant ever. Oh well I don't like to brag but..wait there's isn't one for the Emperor. Why would he send...

Emperor Belos: Nevermind me, just open for you.

Golden Guard: You're really okay with this uncle?

Emperor Belos: Do I look mad nephew?

No one could tell due to his mask blocking.

Golden Guard: I guess not.

They opened the their present and removed the box, everyone except Shadam who didn't bother. But once they opened their presents, pies sprung out and splatted on their faces. They dropped their presents as they tried rubbing the pies off thier faces and complaining

Golden Guard: AH! What the...

Kikimora: What in Titan is this?

Then they heard a loud laughter echoeing in the room. A new figure appeared behind a pillar. He was a jester like humanoid slightly shorter than Selene. He had a white face, appeared to be painted with purple lips, but he wore face mask that was red, covering his glowing pinkish red eyes and forehead and wore a gold helmet resembling a peacock. He wore gray armor and bronze wrist and shin guards, his pants were yellow and had a silver cape and shoulder pads in the shape of fire and wore waraji shoes with black socks. He came out behind the pillar laughing.

Satarakura: BAHAHAHAHA! You guys really fell for it. HAHA! If only I caught it on camera, oh wait I did!

Satarakura got out a crystal ball and showed them getting pranked with the pies.

Satarakura: BAHAHAHAHAHA! Lets see that again, in slow motion.

He plays it again, in slow motion.

Mikela: Satarakura! How dare you?

Voffa: You did this as an attempt of a prank?

Selene: I take back what I said your an idiot.

Golden Guard: Ugh, It's inside my mask.

Kikimora: What is the meaning of this Satarakura.

Satarakura: Oh come now Kiki. It's the first time in forever we've been together, just like the goold ol days.

Satarakura turned and saw Shadam didn't open his present.
Satarakura: What? Come on Shady, why didn't you open yours. It could be a new crystal ball.

Shadam: I'm not stupid enough to fall for your childish pranks.

Satarakura: ( groans) I swear you're no fun.

Emperor Belos: Very amusing Satarakura, now that you're all hear we can get down to buisness.

The five of them lined up together and kneeled down to Belos as the Golden Guard and Kikimora stood next to him.

Emperor Belos: Now then, I should first welcome the five of you back. I've called you back here for a number of reasons. Not only to witness the Day of Unity, but to deal with some trouble I've been having. As you were informed Lilith has betrayed us. Not only that, but a human girl was here and delayed my plans and made off with Owl Lady. Because of her the portal for the plans is currently being reconstructed. I called you all here to make sure things go according to plan.

Shadam: So you want us to hunt them down and kill them?

Emperor Belos: No, not yet anyway. We have more important things to deal with and they're not very powerful. But you may attack if they interfere with our work. But that's not all I need you back for. There are things that need to be done, one being the rumors of a rebellion stiring up and trying to defy me. I want you all to find out more on what you can in town, hunt them down and turn them in.

Legion of Five: Yes my lord!

Emperor Belos: You may go.

The five of them got up and were about to exit.

Emperor Belos: Except for you Mikela and Voffa.

The two of them stopped and turned to Belos.

Mikela and Voffa: Y-Yes my lord?

Emperor Belos: I have a special job for you two.

The next day.

In Bonesborough, Eda was still selling her potions at her new stand, Christa and King were there and this time Luz also.

Eda: Hey Chrissy, do we have anymore stamina potions?

Christa: Just one box left Eda.

Eda: I guess one box is all we need for the day.

Luz: Eda, you sure you have an official permit this time?

Eda: Of course I do kiddo, look.

Eda takes a permit out of her hair and shows it to Luz.

Luz: Well it looks real.

Eda: Yup, definitly real. Definitly not a fake that I was able to make because I know a guy.

Luz and Christa stared at her akwardly for a moment at Eda.

Eda: Really I don't.

Luz: Well I'm glad you're able to jump back on your feet with selling again.

Eda: I know, especially after bounty hunting they kept ripping me off.

Luz then saw the two guards, Earl and Carl approaching the board of posters.

Earl the guard: Come on where is it? Where is it?

Carl the guard: I'm looking, hold on. Get rid of all this other junk.

The two guards were ripping off old posters, one of them being a Christa's missing flyer.

Luz: Hey...HEY!

Luz ran up to them and picked the ripped flyer.

Luz: You can't do that!

Carl the guard: What being cool?

Luz: No, ripping off these flyers.

Earl the guard: We can do whatever we want human. You just back up and do...whatever human stuff you do.

Luz: But...

Eda came from behind and took her hand.

Eda: Easy Luz, we don't want to cause a scene now.

Carl the guard: You! Are you illegally selling our junk again?

Eda: Nope! I have real permit this time.

Eda shows them her permit. Carl takes it and inspects it.

Carl the guard: Hmmm, you win this round Owl Lady. But remember, we'll be watching you. We'll know if you try to cheat this out.

Eda: Yeah, yeah whatever, good day sirs.

Eda pulls Luz away.

Luz: Eda, are you really going to let them push us like that?

Eda: I know, it's not like me either, but I already caused some drama around here. I don't want bring so much attention to myself. Especially since I'm not exactly the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles anymore. Just go help Christa out.

Luz does as she says and goes back to the stand. Eda was about to follow her until she stopped and couldn't help but over hear Carl and Earl's talk.

Earl the guard: Wait I think I found it. Yeah here.

Earl finds the poster, on it was a bounty of somekind of seal like sea monster.

Carl the guard: The Selkidomus?

Now Eda's eyes widened when they mention it's name.

Carl the Guard: This is what the Emperor wants put down.

Earl the Guard: That's what Mikela and Voffa said. They're gonna hunt it down tonight.

Eda listened as what they said and knew they couldn't allow this.

Later that night

Inside the house, Luz , Christa and King were all hanging out in her room. Christa and King were playing checkers as Luz observed them. Christa had black pieces while King had red. It was King's turn but he hasn't made a move.

Luz: Uh King it's been five minutes and you haven't made a move.

King: I know, I know give me a minute.

King moved his red piece to the left, he looked and saw Christa was nodding vertically and he before he let go of his piece he brought it back to his old spot. So then he brought it to the right, he saw Christa nodding again and he brought it back. He looked around the board and saw one of his pieces was next to hers and was exposed. So he took that piece and jumped it over hers and took hers away.

King: Ha ha yes! I'm winning!

Christa: ( nods) Bad move King.

King: Huh?

He looked down and saw that while he did manage to get one of her pieces, he also made a row of squares for one of hers to jump, and he has a lot of exposed spots.

King: What, no Christa please.

Christa takes her piece and jumps over four of his pieces and made it the end.

Christa: King me!

King: NOOO! You can't be king. I'm King. I want a rematch.

Luz: King the games not over yet.

Christa: It's alright. We can start over if he really wants to.

That was until they heard Hooty outside.

Luz: What's Hooty yelling about?

They looked downt he window and saw Hooty talking to Eda. She said something to him, though no one could here what she was saying and leaves.

Christa: Was that Eda?

King: Where is she heading off at this time of night?

Luz: Let's go see.

The three of them made their way downstairs and went to Hooty.

Hooty: Hey guys, are we having a slumber party?

King: NO! No, no, no!

Luz: Hooty, was that Eda right there?

Hooty: Yeah that was her. She went to the market.

Luz: ( raising an eyebrow)The market?

Hooty: Yeah.

King: At this time of night?

Hooty: Yeah. That's what she said.

Christa: Hoot Hoot?

Hooty: Really. Hoot, hoot!

Christa squinted her eyes at him, she was able to tell he was lying. Hooty looked away.

Christa: ( shrugs) Alright then, I was preparing a cricket pie for my best buddy.

Hooty: ( gasps) Hoot! Cricket pie?

Christa: But I've been thinking, maybe the poor birds outside need it more.

Hooty: Hoot no! Okay, okay! She said she was gonna pull some kind of heist! Hoot!

Luz, Christa and King: Heist!?

Hooty: Yeah, she said she was gonna hijack a ship or something, at the docks.

Luz: A ship?

King: Luz, you don't think Eda is trying to steal is she?

Luz: That's not like her. She's a rebel and a bad girl sure, but wouldn't go as far to do such a thing.

Christa: Hoot Hoot, did Eda say what she was doing?

Hooty: No, she told me that and keep my mouth shut and cover up if you guys asked.

Luz: Whatever this is, I think we should go stop her.

King: But it's almost bed time.

Luz: King, you can sleep in tomorrow. This is important.

Christa: She's right, Eda might get into trouble.

Luz: Come on let's hurry!

The three of them ran off to find Eda.

Hooty: Wait CC! What about my pie? Hoot?

At the docks.

Eda was sneaking around the area. She saw the ship was ready and hid behind a pile of crates. She stuck her head up a little to examine the area.

Eda: Hmm, no sign of the crew. I hope this is it.

Then she heard a barrel behind her fall. She jumped a bit, someone was following her. She got a fire glyph ready in hand and approached the stack of barrels that were behind her. Then she jumped to the other side and was about to attack only to see that it's Luz, Christa and King.

Luz: AAAH! Don't hurt us!

Eda: Luz? Christa?

King: Hey don't forget me, I'm a person too you know.

Eda: Yes and King. What are you three doing here?

Luz: To find out what you're doing here?

Eda: I thougt I told Hooty to cover me.

Christa: I made him crack.

Eda: Ha, okay either he's really bad at keeping secrets or your a good interigator.

Luz: Eda what are you doing?

Eda: This is just personal buisness right here.

Christa: So, you really are going to steal from this ship.

Eda: Steal? No, I'm here to stop whoever's in charge here in harming the selkidomus.

Luz: The selki what?

King: Wait I heard of those. It's a type of beast demon that lives in seas. It's one of the few creatures that can swim and adapt the boiling sea.

Eda: Yeah that's right. The selkidomus is peaceful creature. It usually stays away from people and doesn't attack unless provoked. I can't let them hunt it down. And well, I was meant to do this solo, but since you guys are here...

Luz: We'll help Eda. You don't need to do this alone.

Christa: That's right we're a team.

King: Yeah and might as well since it's kinda a long way back home.

Eda smiled and placed her hands on Luz and Christa's shoulders.

Eda: Thanks, just...

Then they heard voices coming.

Eda: Get down.

The four of them ducked down and hid behind the barrels. They peeked out and saw Mikela and Voffa heading towards the ship.

Mikela: This is unbelievable.

Voffa: What?

Mikela: I can't believe the first thing we do coming back here is to hunt a stupid animal while the others are out looking for the resistance. Why are we doing this?

Voffa: The emperor says this just as important. Let's just get this over with and we can join the others in the search.

Luz: ( whispers) Who are they?

Eda: ( whispers) I think they're part of the Emperor's Coven. But are they the only ones?

Voffa: Well, get the crew ready.

Mikela: Alright stand back.

Mikela held up his staff as the tip began to glow. He began painting the floor of the docks. He was painting at fast speed. Finally he stopped and around the area were paintings of five blue humanoids. They had white warped ghostly faces but they also had it on their left chest, right back and right thigh. They only thing they had on were black gloves and boots and belt with a sword holster. Mikela raised his brush staff and yelled.

Mikela: Dorodoros! Arise!

Suddenly the paintings on the floor began to move. Then one of their hands reached out, becoming three dimensional. They all started to and the paintings rose out of the ground, becoming real. They made mumbling noises walking around and had their hands to their faces as if they were screaming.

Christa: ( whispers) Those paintings, thehy just came to life.

Mikela: Dorodoros, get onboard we set sail for the selkidomus.

They nodded and got onto the ship and Mikela and Voffa entered.

Eda: We can't go through the front, they'll see us.

King: How do we get in?

Luz: I got an idea.

Luz got out a plant glyph and shot out a vine at the back of the ship.

Luz: Everyone hold on.

The ship started to sail as the vine pulled the four of them onto the back of the ship and climbed up. They went through the back window that lead them inside the cabin, luckily there was no one in there.

Eda: Alright, step 1 done.

Christa: What's step 2?

Eda: Uh... I don't know I didn't think I'd make this far.

Luz: Eda!

Eda: Alright, alright. Well first off, King, go keep watch.

King: Ugh, why am I always the watch dog?

King went to the door of the cabin and opened it slightly so no one can see him.

Eda: Okay heres the plan. We're gonna sink this bad boy. Luz, I need you to get to the wheel and turn it off course.

Luz: But won't those guys notice the change.

King: Yeah I doubt that.

King was pointing out Mikela and Voffa who were just lying down in lawn chairs with shades, having something to drink as one of the Dororodos was fanning them.

Eda: Anyway as you do that, I'm gonna rope myself down near the bottom, place fire glyphs around and at my command will detonate them. Christa, you're gonna find a life boat and get it ready for us to leave.

Christa: Wait but doing that involves going outside. I'll be seen.

Eda: Not if you're invisible.

Christa: Invisible?

Eda: Luz, didn't you say you were working a new glyph that can make you invisible?

Luz: Well yeah, but it'll only work as long as you're holding your breathe.

Eda: As long as it does something. Christa can you do this?

Christa: I, I don't know.

Eda: Come on, you're better than that. This is really important what you have to do. This is the easiest task for you.

Christa: Yeah but, I'm might screw this up. You know how I am.

Eda placed her hands on Christa's shoulders.

Eda: Hey don't think that way. You're better that, remember the other day, you helped me out from those guards. That was awesome wasn't it.

Christa: I mean yeah it kinda was.

Eda: You're my little helper remeber.

Luz: I thought I was.

Eda: Okay, second. But the point is, just believe in yourself. Just concentrate and you'll succede. Can you do this for us Christa?

Luz placed her hand on Christa's arm.

Luz: You can do it Christa.

Christa closed her eyes and took a deep breathe.

Christa: Okay, I'm in.

Eda: ( smiles) I knew you could.

Moments later.

Mikela and Voffa were still lazying around while their crew did all the work.

Mikela: Ah, nothing beat a glass of ice cold lemon blood.

Voffa: Yes, let them do this and we'll handle the rest when we see the beast.

Then they heard the door open. They turned and saw it wide open, but there was no one there.

Mikela: Ghost?

Voffa: Maybe it's just the wind.

Mikela: Urgh, cheap cabin doors can't even close.

They went back relaxing. We cut to the top of the ship where the wheel was. A dorodoro was steering it. Suddenly Luz appeared behind him, becoming visible after regaing breathe from her new invisible glyph. She placed and ice glyph on the back of it. The dorodoro turned around and saw her and before he could sound an alarm, he is instantly frozen in a block of ice.

Luz: Man he really needed to chill.

Luz snickered at her own joke and took control of the steering wheel and turned it off course.

Meanwhile

Christa was invisible, making her way to the life boat. Thankfully it was out of site from Mikela and Voffa as it was near the cabin. She approached it and got the cover off. Eda was right when she told her this was the easiest task.

Meanwhile

Eda was going through the back window of the cabin again. King stayed with her to keep watch. She got out a plant glyph and formed a vine and tied it in the inside of the cabin and made her way down. She was very careful not to touch the boiling sea as it would burn her. She went all over the ship and placed four fire glyphs on it. Next she got another plant glyph and placed it near the fire glyph, but not too close that they would blow up. She formed another long vine, and she also got a roll of tape from her hair. She taped the vine to each glyph as she made her way back to the inside of the cabin.

Eda: Alright once I light this up, this ship is going down. I hope those two are ready.

King: Uh Eda, someones...

Suddenly the door bursted open, knocking King away, it was Mikela.

Mikela: Argh, that stupid dorodoro made spill my lemon blood and now I need to change and...

But then he stopped when he saw Eda.

Mikela: Who's there?!

Eda: Uh...

Mikela: No really who's there? I misplaced my contact lenses, I can't see too well right now.

Eda: Ugh, I'm the ship inspector. You called earlier to have this place checked up. Ugh yup looks good in the cabin.

Mikela: Ah yes I remember. Alright proceed I'll just...wait a minute. I scheduled the ship inspector before we departed.

Eda: Ah farts, almost had it.

Mikela's staff began to glow as a red energy rope shot out from it and tied her up. He brought her up to his face and recognized Eda..

Mikela: An intruder. Voffa! We have stowaways!

Moments later.

Mikela and Voffa stood before Eda and King, all tied up.

Voffa: Ah I see. It's the infamous Eda the Owl Lady. Or atleast she was until I heard you lost your magic.

Eda: You don't know that.

Voffa: Oh believe me. Everyone knows.

Eda growled at him. Then they saw one of the dorodoros bringin in Luz and tieing her up.

Luz: Eda!

Mikela: What!? A human? You're the human that came into this world? I hate humans! You lowlifes are inferior compared to what we, especially me have regarding with art and culture.

Voffa: Hush now brother. I think we got them all.

Little did they know, Christa was still invisible, but she hid in the lifeboat for now so no one could see her. She breathed becoming visible again.

Voffa: I don't believe it. The Emperor told us to watch out for the Owl Lady and the human. I've heard a great deal of what you did.

Luz: So you guys are part of the Emperor's Coven.

Mikela: That's right. Surely you have heard of us. I am the great artist of the Boiling Isles, Mikela.

Voffa: And the greatest Maestro and music composer, Voffa.

Mikela: Now you want to tell us what you are doing in our ship before we decide what to do with you?

Eda: Yeah, why are you two hunting down the selkidomus. It's a peaceful creature that doesn't attack unless provoked.

Mikela: Is that right. That's hard to believe considering it's been attacking ships that been crossing it's territory. They weren't attacking and it sunk them.

Voffa: That's why we are here, to kill it.

Eda: You can't do this.

Mikela: Hmph watch us Owl Lady. Now then what should we, what should we do with you. Well we could just turn you in to Emperor Belos. I'm sure he'd love to see you two again.

Voffa: Or shall we throw them overboard, like the pirates in the olden days.

Mikela: Haha, that's even better.

But suddenly something hit the ship, causing it to shake a little.

Mikela: Ah, what was that?

The two of them looked out and saw something in the water and rose out, a giant seal like monster with strands of seaweed on it's head.

Mikela: The selkidomus.

Voffa: Battle stations, get the harpoons ready!

The dorodoros ran around the ship. They got behind a harpoon gun and aimed it at the selkidomus and fired away. The harpoon pierced the selkidomus skin. It roared as it merely stung it. It bit down on the harpoon and pulled it out and the ripped the gun off the ship. The selkidomus then inflated it's neck like a balloon and shot out spines from it. Few of the spines hit the ship, and pierced the sail.

Mikela: Damn that monster! How about this!?

Mikela held up his staff as it began to glow and formed the red energy rope again but this time as a lasso and threw it onto the selkidomus neck, it tried to pull back, but he wasn't letting go as the dorodoros grabbed him from behind and pulled.

Mikela: He is so...stubborn..ah...

Voffa: Hold on brother.

Voffa's eye began to glow and shot down a red orb on the ground which immediatly took the form a small pipe organ. He began to play as green musical notes were emerging out of the pipes and flew over the selkidomus as they formed together into a giant energy net and catches it. The selkidomus struggled to get out but it couldn't get out.

Mikela: Ha! Haha! We got it now. We got it now! Haha, oh!

Once they were distracted Christa hurried to her friends.

Luz: Christa.

Christa: Don't worry guys, I'm gonna get you out.

Eda: Quick, burn off the rope with your magic and get us out.

Christa tried snapping her fingers, the first couple times were only sparks, but she got the next one and there was a small fire on her finger and was able to burn the rope off, freeing Eda, Luz and King. Mikela and Voffa were too busy focusing on the selkidomus that they didn't pay attention to them.

Voffa We're almost there. Put your backs into it.

Mikela: What does it look like I'm doing?

Suddenly they felt somehting on the floor as if they were slipping. They saw it was ice and slipped on the floor, losing grip of the selkidomus as it broke free and swam away.

Mikela: NOOOOOO!

Voffa: But how?

The ice melted away and turnd and saw it was caused by Christa as Luz, Eda and King stood by her.

Mikela: Wha...who's that?

Voffa: The Emperor never said anything about her.

Christa: There's a good reason for that. I am the wild card.

Luz: But he never met you.

Christa: I know. Just being cool.

Luz: I get it.

Mikela: You fools. You have no idea how much trouble you have gotten us into. Just for that. None of you will be leaving this ship alive!

Mikela shot a ray of lightning from his staff at them. Christa formed an ice barrier to protect everyone.

Luz: Nice one.

Christa: Thanks, I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Mikela: Dorodoros! Attack!

The Dorodoros drew out their swords an ran up to them. Luz took on one as it tried to slash her, she pulled out an light glyph and blinded it. He covered his eyes from the light as Luz placed a fire glyph on his chest. He looked down at it and back at her, the glyph activates as it sent him flying around and far into th distance.

Eda took on two of them. She dodged their attacks and jumped back. She got two ice glyphs and placed them on the floor. The two Dorodoros ran to her, but once they stepped on the glyphys they were trapped within icicle spikes.

Christa was facing one of them, she kept stepping back from his sword swipes. He was about to strike her again, but an block of ice formed from the ground in front of him and froze the blade.

Christa: Now to make things hot.

She was about to attack him with fire magic, but instead it was plant and shot a vine at him, wrapping him up and falling to the ground.

Christa: That wasn't what I wanted, but that works too.

And so the three of them were now against Mikela and Voffa.

Luz: It's three against two. Let us leave now!

Voffa: Do not understimate my power human! NO!

Voffa began to play his miniture pipe organ. The musical notes were forming again and were starting to spin like they were sharp blades. They rained down on them, they kept dodging but he kept forming more. Eda formed a barrier of vines to block his attacks.

Voffa: Oh please!

Voffa's eye began to glow and shot out an energy projectile at the barrier, breaking it.

Mikela's staff glowed again and shot a ray of lightning at them. It nearly hit them and sent them flying into the walls of the ship.

Mikela: Hahaha! Did you really think you'd be a match for us, the highest ranking members of the Emperor's Coven.

Eda: Give us all you got, but you don't scare us.

Luz: I've seen what the Emperor is like. You guys are ametures in comparison.

Mikela: Ametuers!

Voffa: How dare you!?

Christa: I will not allow you to hurt my friends.

Christa's eyes began to glow as she was forming ice particles around her hand. It looked like she was about to do a powerful move, until it turned into an ice stalactite facing the ground. It broke through the floor and everyone immediatly stopped fighting. They all looked down at the floor seeing that the ice stalactite kept breaking through the ship until finally it hit the bottom as water was emerging up.

Christa: Uh...oops.

Mikela: The ship's sinking!

Voffa: Abandon ship!

Luz, Eda, Christa and King ran to the life boat while Mikela and Voffa ran to another one. They both made it out as the ship sank.

Christa: I'm sorry guys. I guess I haven't mastered it yet.

Luz: Hey don't be, you really helped us out.

King: Yeah were able to get away you did free us.

Eda: The important thing is that we're all here and we stopped them from getting the selkidomus.

Mikela: Hey!

They turned and saw Mikela calling to them.

Mikela: Curse you Owl Lady, human, that dog thing and little girl!

King: Dog thing? I'm the King of Demons!

Voffa: We'll get you for this! If it's the last thing we do!

Suddenly they all felt the water moving.

Luz: Is the water moving or are they waves?

Eda: Everybody hold on!

They grabbed onto the life boats as the water rose up and sent both life boat onto an island.

King: Whoa, what a ride.

Eda: Is everybody okay.

Luz: I'm good, Christa?

Christa: I'm okay.

They heard groans from Mikela and Voffa.

Voffa: How, how did we suddenly get here?

Golden Guard: That's because I caused it.

Suddenly the Golden Guard appeared before them.

Luz: Who is that?

Voffa: The Golden Guard? What are you doing here?

Golden Guard: I've been keeping an eye on you two. Making sure your mission would go as planned but as I witnessed you lost the ship.

Mikela: It wasn't our fault. They sunk it!

The Golden Guard turned over to the others.

Golden Guard: Well, well, well. Eda the Owl Lady. We meet at last. So you're the one Lilith was so desperate to find when she used to work for the Emperor.

Eda: I take it you and Lily have some history together.

Golden Guard: Well, not exactly a good one but nothing too terrible either. And you're the human who's been causing us trouble lately. And you, you're...

The Golden Guard immediatly stopped talking when he recognized Christa.

Golden Guard: ( in his mind) The girl from the flyer. Oh wow she's even prettier in person. Come on say something. ( out loud) Oh, who's you're friend?

Luz: Why so you can get her first?

Golden Guard: What? No, just want to know, you know a pretty girl like her doesn't need to be punished.

Christa's face began to turn red, feeling flattered.

Christa: ( blushing) You really think I'm pretty.

But then she snapped out of it.

Christa: Wait, what am I being flattered for? Are you...hitting on me?

Golden Guard: Wha...no! No I was just giving you a compliment.

Christa: You and you're friends were attacking mine. You think I'm gonna fall for that.

Golden Guard: I wasn't hitting I just said you were pretty, I mean your not pretty. I mean...

Christa: Excuse me, did you just say I'm not pretty?

Luz: Are you saying she's ugly?

Golden Guard: You stay out of this and I didn't say that.

King: Uh Eda should we break this up.

Eda: Nah, this actually pretty interesting.

Golden Guard: Okay enough! We're going off topic here. You four are under arrest for interfering the Emperor's plans and I know you can't do real magic.

Luz: We can't.

Christa's eyes began to glow.

Christa: But I can.

She shot out a wave of fire at him. The Golden Guard dodged and fired a red projectile at Christa. She blocked it with an ice barrier and shot an ice spike at his hand, making him lose his staff. He tried to pick it up but she used another wave of fire at him. He barely dodged it and fell to the ground, he realized he was close to King and grabbed him, using him as a hostage.

Golden Guard: That's enough.

Christa: King!

Luz: Let him go!

Golden Guard: Take another step or your pet falls into the boiling sea.

The Golden Guard held King over the boiling sea as King freaked out.

King: Uh...guys? I should let you know that I can't swim and even if I did, I would still burn to death in the boiling sea.

Christa: Let him go now or else!

Golden Guard: First you calm down, then we talk.

Luz: Do as he says Christa.

Christa reluctanly agrees and calms down.

Golden Guard: Now then, no one has to die today and you don't have to be arrested.

Mikela: Golden Guard?

Voffa: What are you saying?

Golden Guard: The island we're on is the home of the selkidomus, behind you is the cave it lives in.

The Golden Guard took out a sword and handed to Luz.

Golden Guard: Go in there and kill the selkidomus and I'll let you all go.

Eda: You louzy stinkin...Luz don't listen to him.

Luz: If I don't do as you say.

Golden Guard: You know the answer to that.

Luz didn't want anything to happen to King, but didn't want to kill the selkidomus either but didn't have any other choice.

Luz: ( sighs) I'll be back.

Luz makes her way inside the cave.

Eda: Luz you're not doing this are you? Luz!

Christa: Luz wait.

Eda and Christa followed her inside the cave.

Eda: Luz, Luz. You can't do this. The whole reason we're here is to keep the selkidomus safe.

Luz: I know, you think I want to do this?

Christa: We can't let him kill King.

Eda: King is not going to die Let's just think of something. We can find a way.

Then they heard a growling noise. Luz puts a light glyph on and standing before them was the selkidomus and it did not look happy. It turned and tried to crush them with it's tail , missing them. Christa got separated from Luz and Eda as she was on the others side.

Eda: Stop, we're not your enemy. We want to help.

The selkidomus didn't listen to her and inflated it's neck, shooting spines at her and Luz. The two of them got behind a boulder to hide.

Luz: I don't think he wants to listen. What do we do? Eda?

Eda tried to think but didn't know what to do. The selkidomus was getting close to them about to kill them both. Christa stood there, but was in so much pressure and didn't know how to stop the fighting. She ran up to the Selkidomus, getting in front of it.

Christa: Stop, we don't want to hurt you! Listen to us!

But it didn't listen and kept charging.

Luz: Christa get out of there.

Christa: I said stop...

Christa looked down she balled her fists as the emerald on her head began to glow.

Luz: Christa?

Eda: Luz get down!

Eda grabbed Luz and got behind the boulder. Suddenly her eyes opened and were glowing as a white aura was forming around her body making her hair fly up.

Christa: STOP!

Christa let out strong yell that echoed in the cave. Luz and Eda peeked out of the boulder and opened their eyes saw what had happened. Their was ice and frost all over the cave. They looked and saw the selkidomus was trapped in the wall surrounded by ice. Unharmed but trapped. Christa herself stood their, looking agitated and her eyes and emerald still glowing. Before Luz could say anything, they heard a small cry. Coming was a baby selkidomus going to it's mother scared. Christa gasped and tears formed from her eyes.

Christa: What am I doing?

Christa calmed down as her glowing eyes dimmed and the ice melted, freeing the Selkidomus. Once freed she attened her child, comforting him.

Eda: It's a mother. That's why she's been attacking, to protect her child.

Luz heard sobbing sounds coming from Christa. She was looking down, had one hand cover her eyes and was crying.

Christa: She was just protecting her baby. I could have killed her right there.

Luz: Christa relax it's okay.

Christa: No it's not, this is wrong. We can't do this we can't kill her.

Eda: We're not going to. There has to be way we can get out of this without anyone getting hurt.

Christa: But what do we do?

Luz thought for a moment until something hit her.

Luz: I think I got something.

Meanwhile back outside the cave.

The Golden Guard was sitting on a rock and was toying with King by using his staff as a laser and aiming it on the ground and King trying to catch it like your normal house pet.

King: Nyeh, got you. Wait no, now! Nyeh why do you keep avoiding me!

Golden Guard: ( chuckles) You are actually weirdly endearing.

King: No I'm not, oh wait there!

Mikela: Ugh this taking too long.

Voffa: They either got eaten or won't do it. I say we kill the hairball now and go in there and finish the job!

But then they heard noises coming from the cave. The Golden Guard grabbed King again and they took a closer look and could see shadows of Luz, Eda and Christa fighting what appears to be the selkidomus. Luz ran up to it with the sword he gave her and decapitated it. She and Christa were dragging the head out, wrapped up in a cloth.

Golden Guard: ( sniffs) Ah, man that thing smells awful. Why are you touching it with your bare hands? Did you wrap that up with your bare hands? Gross.

Mikela: It stinks so bad I can taste it.

Voffa: AH! Jokes on you two. I don't have a nose.

Christa: Hey focus on us. We did what you wanted.

Luz: Now give us King.

Golden Guard: You know he kinda stinks too, so...

But then Mikela aimed his staff at King and Voffa's eye glowed at him as well.

Mikela: Yeah I don't think so.

Luz: We did what you wanted.

Golden Guard: We made a deal with them you two. The selkidomus is dead.

Mikela: We never gave the approval.

Voffa: And we do not make deals with peasants.

Golden Guard: Stand down both of you.

Mikela: Make us, boy!

Mikela and Voffa fired two laser projectiles at King.

Luz: King!

But the Golden Guard deflected the projectiles at them, the two got hit and fell down.

Golden Guard: I told you to stand down. Do you really want to go against my orders? Don't forget who has the higher rank here.

Mikela and Voffa got up glaring at him.

Golden Guard: Just get back to the castle and wait for me there.

Mikela: Grrr. If you weren't the leader of the coven I... You human, don't think this is over!

Voffa: You haven't see the last of us.

With that Mikela and Voffa warp away.

Golden Guard: Alright as promised, you can have him back.

The Golden Guard lets go of King as he runs back to Luz and picks him up.

Golden Guard: Well it was a pleasure doing buisness with you. You can find your own way home.

The Golden Guard turned away about to leave.

Golden Guard: Uh, don't a get a thank you for saving your pet?

Luz: No! You threatened to kill him in the first place.

Christa: And he's not our pet, he's our friend you jerk.

Golden Guard: ( sighs) Fine, be that way. But do yourself a favor and stay out of trouble, especially you red.

Christa: My name is Christa.

Golden Guard: Christa huh, that's a beautiful name. But I mean it, the emperor is not as forgiving as I am. BYYYYYEEEE!

Golden Guard leaves, teleporting with his staff.

Luz: Jeez, what a jerk.

Christa: I know right. But I won't lie, I do kinda appreciate he defended King.

Luz: King are you okay?

King: Yeah I'm fine. You know me I can take care of myself.

Luz: ( chuckles and petting him) Of course you can.

King: But did you really just...

Luz: No, we just wanted to make him think we did it.

They enter back into the cave and see that the selkidomus she killed was really just living seaweed using the power of the plant glyphs and light to make the shadows. Eda was there as the puppeteer.

Eda: Did they buy it?

Luz: Yeah they're gone.

They heard the selkidomus behind them and the baby running up to Luz and Christa, nuzzling them.

Luz: Aww, baby.

Christa: Who's a cute baby? You are.

King: Guys what you doing, it's gonna eat us.

Eda: Relax King, she calmed down when she realized we weren't a threat to her or her baby.

Christa turned to the mother and approached her and frowned.

Christa: I'm, really sorry for what I did. I... I didn't mean to.

The Selkidomus kneeled down to her and nudged her, giving her a soft growl.

Eda: I think she's accepting your apology.

Christa smiled and petted her.

Christa: Thank you.

Eda: This area is dangerous. You need to move further out, into the sea.

The Selkidomus nodded and called it's child to come. But before she left she gave one last look at the group and started to gag as if she was about to throw up. But finally she did, she threw up a shiny gold like substance.

Christa: Ew, what is that?

Luz: Gold? Tuna?

Eda: Hot dang, it's selkigris! The treasure of the sea. People pay big money for this in the night market. Here.

Eda took some and rubbed onto Luz's face.

Luz: Ah! No Eda, ew!

Eda: Feel that money Luz.

Christa laughed at her.

Eda: Oh you want some too Chrissy, here! Luxuriate!

Eda takes some of the selkigris and rubs some on Christa's face.

Christa: Ah no! Eda stop that is so gross! Ew!

Eda: What you two don't like to luxuriate. There's a whole pile of luxury right here.

Eda took the two girls and was about to throw them in.

Luz and Christa: No,no,no, no,no!

But she threw them both in.

Eda: Move over!

Eda jumped in as well as Luz and Christa emerged out covered in it.

Luz: Ah, Eda!

Christa: I'm gonna have to wash my clothes three times to get these stains off.

Eda: Come on, swim in it we're rich I tell you. Rich!

A few hours later.

The four of them finally made it back home, where Lilith was sitting on the couch with Hooty

Lilith: Where have you four been? Hootstiffer told me you were on somekind of heist.

Hooty: Sorry guys, I couldn't keep the secret any longer.

Eda: Relax Lily, so we might have snuck into an Emperor Coven's ship to stop a hunt and...

Lilith: You did what? And you brought the children with you?

Eda: Heck no, they followed me.

Lilith: Are you three alright.?

Luz: Yeah we're okay.

Christa: We really are Miss Lilith.

King: I'm no child. I'm a king.

Lilith: Edalyn, we just got away from the Emperor, the last thing we want is to stir up trouble with him again.

Eda: I know, sorry but I couldn't let these two weirdo's hunt the selkidomus and...

Lilith: What wierdos?

Luz: Well there these two guys from the Emperor's Coven one of them brought minions to life by painting and the other attacked with music and..

Lilith: Are you talking about Mikela and Voffa?

Luz: So you know them?

Lilith: I can't believe it. Emperor Belos has called back the Legion of Five.

Christa: The Legion of Five?

Lilith: They're the highest ranking members of the coven.

Eda: If that's the case, how come I've never seen them before?

Lilith: They're usually summoned for the toughest assingments or for special occasions.

Eda: You call hunting a selkidomus a tough assingment. Anybody could do that.

Lilith: I'm sure there is more to it than that.

Luz: Are they that bad?

Lilith: Depending on the situation yes.

Luz: One more thing, is one of the members a young, gold guy or something?

Lilith: You met the Golden Guard as well?

Luz: You know him too.

Lilith: Unfortunatly yes. He got special treatment from the Emperor because he was the ( mockingly) genius team prodigy. But really he's a brat. I guess he's leading the coven now. All I can say is, stay clear from them. Provoking them will mean trouble.

Luz: ( in her mind) I guess our troubles with the Emperor is far from over.

Meanwhile

At Emperor Belos Castle, Mikela and Voffa kneeled in front of Emperor Belos sitting on his throne as the Golden Guard, Kikimora, Shadam, Selene and Satarakura stood by the side.

Emperor Belos: Welcome back you two. I assume the assingment went well.

Mikela: We had some complications but yes. We managed to pull it off. We killed the selkidomus

Emperor Belos: And you're sure it's dead.

Mikela: Well we didn't recover the corpse if that's what you mean, but it's highly unlikely it's still alive. A chance in a million.

Emperor Belos: So in other words, you don't really know do you?

Voffa: We know that we saw the human cut it's head off and...

Emperor Belos: Stop right there. The human was there?

Voffa: Y-Yes her and the Owl Lady as you described. They sank our ship and, and...

Mikela: If I may my lord, could you please tell your Golden Guard to stay out of our buisness! We had it under control!

Golden Guard: I was just making sure you guys did your job right. You understand don't you Uncle?

Emperor Belos: Indeed.

Voffa: Wait but I should mention that with the two was this girl. She sank our ship.

Emperor Belos: What girl?

Voffa: She had red hair and a jewel on her head.

Golden Guard: Uncle, this is what she looks like.

The Golden Guard gave him the flyer he found. Belos examined it for a moment, but then he sat up looking at it closer. As if he recognized her.

Emperor Belos: Where did you find this?

Golden Guard: There were flyers all over town. Said that she was separated from her family and lost her memory. I think she's living with the Owl Lady and the human.

Emperor Belos: I must go.

Golden Guard: Uncle? Is something wrong?

Emperor Belos: There is something familiar about this girl. Something...from the past.

Emperor Belos got up and walked away.

Emperor Belos: You're all dismissed.

( queue Narkau's theme)

Emperor Belos left the room as everyone watched in confusion. Belos was walking through the halls until he found the stairs. He made his way down further, and further, and further at the bottom of the castle. He approached a lock door and took out a key. He unlocked the door and was in a large , dark, old and decaying room. There was a platform in the middle. He stood on top of it and then kneeled.

Emperor Belos: Master, it seems something else has come up for our plans. Something we may have not seen in years.

Suddenly the room lit up and in the center was a giant red eye with fire and a red gastly aura surrounding it, letting out an inhuman demonic scream.

Author's Note: And thats it for this chapter. Sorry that this was a long one. I did't realize it, but I had so much in this one. I was trying to think of how to introduce the Golden Guard to Luz and the others and this is what I came up with. I do have plans for him and Christa lets just say. Yes I know of his real name, but I'm gonna keep it hidden until we get to the retelling of Hunting Palisman. Finally I brought in the villains and will give each of the Legion of Five members their own chapter. Also for those of you wondering, if you've read my story " A Different Universe" you might have noticed I brought the character Voffa here. I wasn't happy with his portrayal in that story and I cut Mikela out of that as well. And I because I hated that story, I brought them back here as a second attempt. So just ignore the similarities, they are not canon. If you guys have any ideas on what you want to see the Legion of Five members or the Golden Guard to do or what trouble they cause, feel free to let me know.
