Chapter 9: The Humble Historian and the Evil Bard

Part 1

In the living room, Luz was teaching a little art class with King and Christa. King and Christa had their own canvas to draw on as they were trying to make a drawing of Lilith lying on the couch making a pose.

Lilith: Are you almost done? I've been at this pose for 30 minutes

Luz: Just keep still. Okay everyone, utensils down in 5 minutes.

Christa and King were adding the finishing to their drawings as quickly as possible. King was rushing but ended up breaking the tip of his pencil.

Luz: Time's up! Pencils down.

King: Nyeh, uh I don't think I can present mine.

Luz: Don't worry how it looks King. Let's just see how you did.

King and Christa turned their canvases to Luz and Lilith. King's looked a little rough as the drawing of Lilith barely looked like her and the environment had some smudges.

Luz: Okay King, it's very nice, a bit rough around the edges...

King: ( frowning) You hate it don't you?

Luz: No, no. I like it really. Everyone starts a bit rough, but they improve did great King.

King: Yay, I'm the best artist ever!

Lilith: ( whispers) Hardly.

Luz: Let's see your's Christa.

Christa showed Luz hers. Her's was mainly stick figures, but tried to add as much color to it as possible.

Christa: I know, it's not very good.

Luz: No it is. I will give points for your use of color. Alright now let me show you guys mine.

Luz showed everyone her canvas and it captured Lilith's image well as everyone was amazed.

Lilith: Oh, well someone here is an artist.

Christa: That is so cool.

King: Wow, how do you draw so good Luz?

Luz: That's an excellent question King. Drawing can be fun once you know a few tricks. For me, I like to break down characters into simple shapes.

Luz draws an outline of King.

Luz: Here's you.

She makes another one of Christa.

Luz: And Christa you're made of these shapes.

She makes one more of Hooty.

Luz: Hooty is really easy. He's just a circle and a tube.

King: So realistic.

Christa: Mondo cool.

Hooty enters.

Hooty: Hey guys, what are you up to?

But then Hooty saw the drawing of himself and just stared at it for a moment.

Luz: Uh, Hooty?

But then Hooty started hissing at the drawing, looking threatened and defensive.

King: Hooty no! It's just a drawing.

Hooty: Who are you? This is my territory! AAAAHH!

Hooty attacks the drawing, tearting apart screaming as everyone tried to hold him back.

Luz: Hooty stop!

Christa: Calm down Hoot Hoot!

Lilith: Hootsifer relax it's not real.

Then Eda enters the room and see's the mess and everyone including Hooty stops what their doing.

Eda: What the heck are you kids doing?

Luz: Um art class?

Eda: Well clean this up. The guy who's supposed to come help us with our search will be here soon.

Lilith: Edalyn, you sure he can help us?

Eda: Of course Lily. He's the smartest guy next to you.

Lilith: Well he was a great study buddy back in school.

Luz: Who? Who is he?

Eda was about to tell her, until she heard someone on a staff flying.

Eda: You're about to find out.

They went outside and saw someone landing in front of the house. He was hooded at first, but once he got off the staff he showed his face to everyone. He was a tall thin young man, about Eda's age and was slightly taller than her. He had golden wavy locks, pure grey eyes and cinnamon skin. He wore a brown tunic with long sleeves, dusty grey pants and black boots, he had a cloak that was pure black. The staff he had looked like a scythe and on the top of it was a palisman that looked like a crow. There was one thing about his face though, while he looked like a kind man, he had three scars over his face, as if he was attacked by some wild animal once. He approached Eda with a smile on his face. Eda had a small smile on her face.

?: Eda.

Eda: Archimedes.

Eda walks up to him and hugs him.

Eda: Look at you, you lost weight or something?

Archimedes: Um, no I haven't gone on any diet recently.

Eda: Really cause you look good, or did I just forget what you used to look like.

Archimedes: Maybe that.

Eda snorts laughing and lightly punches him in arm.

Archimedes: Ow, what was that for?

Eda: Just as I expected, you're still a softy to punchies.

Archimedes: I told you I don't play that game anymore.

Everyone else just watched as the two were talking.

Luz: King, do you know who he is?

King: Uh, no I never met him.

Eda: Oh sorry, Luz this Archimedes. He's an old friend of mine.

Archimedes: Oh, so you're the human I heard that came here. How are you adapting here?

Luz: Doing better now than when I first came.

Archimedes motioned to Christa.

Archimedes: Hello young lady and you are?

Christa: I'm Christa.

Eda: This is the girl I mentioned who came from the pod. We're trying to help her find her home and maybe you can help us out on it.

Archimedes: I'll do what I can.

Archimedes then turned to Lilith and gave her a hug.

Lilith: It's nice to see you again Archimedes.

Archimedes: Same with you Lilith. Is it true you're no longer serving the Emperor?

Lilith: Yes, after seeing how he truly is.

Hooty comes in and wraps himself around Archimedes

Hooty: Hello!

Archimedes: Oh jeez not this thing again.

Hooty: I'm your old pal Hooty reporting for duty! It's nice to have new company. You want to hear the time my beak was itchy and tried to figure out how to scratch it? Hoot! Hoot!

Eda pushes Hooty off of him.

Eda: Back off Hooty, he's not interested.

Luz: Eda you never told me you had friends.

Eda: Hey I do, well not many. But that's okay, cause I only need a few good and trusted friends. Archimedes is a childhood friend of mine.

Archimedes: We used to go to Hexside together.

Luz: Oh wow, what are you part of?

Archimedes: I'm part of the History coven. We study and discover more history regarding the Boiling Isles as well as the demon realm as a whole. We try to learn new things everyday. I was told you guys found something special.

Eda: It's been a crazy last few weeks here. Let me show you.

They went inside and the first thing they showed him was the pod Christa was in. His eyes were wide a bit with amazement. He kneeled down to examine it

Archimedes: This pod, I've never seen anything like this. Where did you say you found this?

Luz: We recovered it from the Terrible Trio. They said they stole it from a pirate ship and when we opened it, Christa was in it.

Archimedes: And Christa, you were in this because why?

Christa: I really don't know. My memories got foggy after the fall.

Archimedes: I see.

Eda: Well there's more, King you want to show him.

King brought him the pictures they took.

Archimedes: Oh the little King of Demons. I've heard about you.

King: Actually it's just King now. I just found out I'm not a real King.

Archimedes: Oh, I see.

King: But we did find all this from where I was found.

King hands him the pictures of the tower they just went to.

Archimedes: Incredible. What is all this?

Eda: The place I found King. We went back recently and discovered many things. I was wondering if you could also know what all these means or who built this.

Lilith: Edalyn aren't we asking him a bit much.

Archimedes: Don't worry about it Lilith. This is what we're trained to do.

Eda: Archy here is the smartest witch I know. He's a bigger nerd than you Lily. No offense Archy.

Archimedes: Non taken Eda. I'll take these back with me to my studies and the pod too. I'm happy to help you with this.

Eda: Oh ho you, come here!

Eda wraps her arm around his neck and noogies him.

Eda: Remember this Archy? Remember?

Archimedes: Ow. Eda, you know much I hate that. Ow.

Eda continued to noogie him until she stopped realizing her arm was growing feathers.

Eda: Uh oh.

Archimedes: ( looking concerned) Eda your arm.

Eda: It's okay.

Eda quickly got an elixer and drank the last bit of it, causing the feathers on her arm to disappear.

Archimedes: Are you alright?

Eda: The curse again. But that was the last of the elixir I have in the house. I got to get more.

Archimedes: I can go with you right now.

Eda: You don't have to.

Archimedes: Oh no it's not trouble. We can catch up and spend some time!

Archimedes blushed and looked away.

Archimedes: I mean of course also to protect you and uh.. I mean not that you need protection. I know you can take care of yourself, I meant uh... I have to use the bathroom.

Eda: It's over there.

Archimedes: Be right back.

Archimedes went to use the bathroom. Luz looked over at Eda.

Luz: So Eda, you never told me about Archidemes.

Eda: Well, we don't really see each other much nowadays.

Luz: Why?

Eda: ( looking away) Uh...it's complicated.

Eda went to the table to pick up her apple blood.

Eda: But I do call when I really need him. After all, he's the one who found the elixir for my curse.

Luz: Really.

Eda: Yeah, he said he has some friends from the Potions coven and asked them to make something to stabalize my curse. He's a trustworthy friend.

Luz: A friend huh?

Eda: Yes.

Eda took a sip of her apple blood as Luz smirked and squinted her eyes at her.

Luz: You mean your boyfriend?

Eda snapped her eyes open and spit out the apple blood right at Lilith.

Lilith: ( gasps) Edalyn!

Eda: ( coughs) Sorry Lily. Luz I can assure you, he's definitly not my boyfriend. I mean I've dated a few guys back in my day but our relationships never lasted. I was married once, but I'm divorced now.

Luz: You were married?

Lilith: Married? When did this happen? I would have known.

Eda: Well it was only for one day. He was actually a human, we met in this flashy place in the human realm called Las Vegas when we both set out hands on the same slot machine. His name was Stan and he wore a black suit, had large glasses and a fez on. But he kinda reminded me of myself and that's what I liked about him. We talked a bit, a few drinks, gambled and got married, all in one day.

Christa: That fast?

Eda: Yup, then the following morning I stole his car and made off with all his loot.

Everyone looks at her akwardly.

King: That's cold man.

Eda: I know, but I was desperate in need of money and he said he'd do anything for me. You know he was good guy. Kinda wonder how he's doing now. Hmmm. But the point is, I'm done with romance and moving on from that.

They heard Archimedes come back.

Archimedes: Sorry about that. So, may I accompany you Eda?

Eda: Eh sure. Come on.

Eda takes his hand, making his face turn red.

Eda: Be back guys.

Eda leaves the house with Archimedes. He gives her a ride with his staff. The two get on and fly away.

Christa: Well he seems nice.

Lilith: She does seem happy to see him.

Luz: Eda must really like him.

King: Well yeah, she does. She said they knew each other since they were kids.

Luz: No I think it's more. I think Eda has a crush on him.

Christa: But Luz, she just said she wasn't in love with him.

Luz: Christa, in my world when people say deny they like someone, they really do and you saw how happy she was to see him and her reaction when I asked her. She's so into him.

King: So you think Eda is in love?

Luz: Oh I know.

Meanwhile

Eda and Archimedes were on their way to Bonseborough.

Archimedes: Are you sure it's okay to for you to go into town?

Eda: It's fine Archy. I'm not exactly powerful anymore so my bounty is practically worthless now.

Archimedes: Just making sure.

The two landed at Bonesborough and made their through the shops to head towards the Mr. Elixer shop.

Archimedes: So Eda tell me, how have things been with you?

Eda: Eh fine I guess. Not much really.

Archimedes: Not much? Really?

Eda: What's to tell?

Archimedes: Eda, why haven't you called me before to come? To meet up.

Eda: You know why. I've been tangling a lot with the Emperor's Coven. You know, being constantly on the run and all.

Archimedes: I know but you could have called for my help. I would have had you stay with me for refuge.

Eda: Hey I don't want you to get involved in my mess.

Archimedes: ( frowns) I heard what happened. You got captured recently.

Eda frowns and looks away.

Eda: Oh, so you know about that.

Archimedes: Everyone knows. You nearly got petrified.

Eda: Yeah I was this close to being turned to stone it wasn't for Luz.

Archimedes: She's still training yet she risked her life to save you.

Eda: She can be a bit reckless at times, but I'm guilty of the same thing.

Archimedes: I should thank her for it. But you know I was on my way to do the same thing.

Eda: Were you really?

Archimedes: Yes, despite living far I rushed as quicklys as I could. I didn't know how I was going to get you out, but I'd die trying. But by the time I got there, you were already gone.

Eda: Aw Archy...

Archimedes: ( takes her hand) No really. I don't care if this is the Emperor, I'm not letting someone do that.

Archimedes realized he was holding her hand and lets go, looking away blushing.

Eda: Archy, I'm sorry I worried you. I believe what you were saying, but it would scare me also if you got killed doing so.

Archimedes: I wouldn't want to worry you either. Just, please be more careful okay E.

Eda: Sure.

They soon made it to the Mr. Elixer shop but shop seemed closed and their was a sign.

Eda: Oh what the? ( reads the sign) Out to Lunch? Ugh, really Morton?

Archimedes: Hey don't worry he'll be back soon. Why don't we look around for a little while?

Eda: I guess we could.

He and Eda looked around the shops at Bonesborough, though Eda kept on dismissing each shop they saw.

Eda: No, that's clearly fools gold, that one is not my interest and that is so fake.

Archimedes: Someone's a bit judgemental.

Eda: Hey I know these shops better than anyone. I know what's legit and what's not.

Archimedes: I'm sure you do.

Archimedes then saw a stand with historical books and pieces. He looked interested seeing turned to Eda.

Eda: Ha, go ahead look.

Archimedes: It'll only be a minute.

Archimedes went to go look as Eda stood aside to wait for him. That is until she heard someone call for her.

?: Eda? Eda Clawthorne?

Eda turned and saw another witch approaching her. He was a tall handsome guy, maybe a year older than her. He had mocha skin with chocolate brown eyes and curly brown hair. He wore a tunic with musical notes and dark blue pants. He also had a navy blue cloak and his staff had musical notes carved on it and his palisman was a swan.

?: Eda it is you!

Eda: ( disgusted look) Oh, Thomas Harmony.

Thomas: Eda, baby, honey long time no see. How you been?

Eda didn't look too happy seeing him.

Eda: Been dealing with a lot actually. I haven't seen you in a while.

Thomas: Well I mean you kinda ran away, you know with your curse and all.

Eda: I don't need to be reminded. What do you want?

Thomas: Whoa no need to get hostile. I just happened to see you just now. Just wanted to catch up you know. We used to date remember?

Eda: Yeah I remember. I was a fool thinking you were charming.

Thomas: Come on your still mad at me? What about the song I wrote for you and the words I said.

Eda: You broke my heart when I caught you flirting on another girl using the same song and words. And this was a few days before Grom.

Thomas: Okay yeah, look I was a kid back then. But I've changed you know. So how about we try again.

Eda: Yeah I don't know. I'm done with romance Thomas. Besides why would you want to date me again when you womanize with any girl of your liking.

Thomas: Well the thing is, you're the most interesting one. My biggest mistake was cheating on you. I swear no girl I ever met topped you, the hot, lovely, fiesty and rebelious Eda. Did I say how hot you were. So how about I come by to pick you up for dinner.

Eda: Thanks but not interested.

Eda tried to walk away but then a upset look formed on Thomas's face.

Thomas: Maybe you didn't get it.

Thomas grabbed Eda's arm pulling him towards him.

Eda: Let go of me or...

Thomas: Or what? You can't do magic anymore. I heard you lost it. So how about we go out tonight? Just say yes.

Thomas began to squeeze Eda's arm, rather tightly. This began to hurt Eda as she tried to slap him across the face, but he saw it coming and grabbed her other arm before she could slap him.

Eda: You liar, you didn't change. In fact you're worse than ever.

Thomas: Don't make this hard on yourself Eda. Think about it. You go out with me, I can protect you from the Emperor.

Eda: I don't need protection from you.

Thomas: Don't make this hard for us Eda. Just say yes.

Archimedes: Hey!

Archimedes rushed in and pushed Thomas off of her. He stood in front of him and kept Eda behind him.

Archimedes: That's no way to treat a woman.

Thomas: Oh if it isn't Archimedes. Oh I get it now, you're her boyfriend huh?

Both him and Eda began blushing but didn't notice each other faces.

Archimedes: No, but I am her friend.

Thomas: Hey I was just asking her out. If you're not her boyfriend than it's none of your buisness.

Archimedes: If she says no, than it's a no. Now leave.

Thomas: Or what? I'm a bard, you're nothing but a historian. The second worst coven in this system.

Archimedes reached his hand out and his staff came to him. The scythe like staff became a real scythe as his palisman crow came to life and came to his shoulder.

Archimedes : Trust me, you don't want to tangle with my staff. Now get lost.

Thomas: Fine, I'll go. But know this Eda. You and are destined to be together!

Thomas walked away as Archimedes lead Eda away.

Archimedes: Are you alright?

Eda: I'm fine.

Archimedes: I'm sorry, I should not have left you alone like that.

Eda: It's okay. I could have handled it, but thanks for stepping in and helping.

Archimedes: Of course. Come on I think Morton is back.

As they made their way to the Mr. Elixir shop, Archimedes's crow cawed at Eda and came to her shoulder.

Eda: Oh Jeremy. Did you miss me? I missed you as well.

Eda pets Jeremy, much to his liking.

Archimedes: He really missed you.

Eda: I'm sure he did, poor guy.

Meanwhile.

Luz, Christa and King were outside more into the woods. Luz and King sat aside as Christa was practicing more on her powers. She was starting to get the hang of most of it, but still couldn't activate her Earth powers.

Christa: It's no use. I just can't activate the Earth powers.

King: What if it only works in your powerful state like you told me.

Luz: She should be able to do it on her own. Don't give up, I'm sure you'll get it soon.

Then they saw Eda and Archimedes fly by.

Christa: Eda's back.

Luz: Let's go see them.

The three of them made their way to back to the Owl House. While they were getting there, Eda and Archimedes landed in front of the house with a bag full of elixer.

Eda: Thanks again for accompanying me Archy.

Archimedes: Of course E. Anytime.

Then the two stared at each other akwardly for a moment, not knowing what else to say.

Archimedes: So um, I guess I should get back to buisness. I'll tie up the pod to my staff and take that and the pictures to my study.

Eda: Wait, you don't have to go just yet. You want to uh...hang for while.

Archimedes: I guess, what did you want to do now?

Eda: You uh...um...you want to see if our old hide out is still standing?

Archimedes: Y-Yeah, it's been years since we've seen it.

Eda: Okay, just wait here, I gotta put these away.

Eda went inside as Archimedes sat on a rock waiting for her. Luz, Christa and King were near but were coming from behind him. Archimedes's palisman Jeremy came to his shoulder and cawed to him.

Archimedes: It's really nice to see her again ins't it Jeremy?

Jeremy cawed in response.

Archimedes: You know why we haven't seen each other much. She's going through a lot.

Jeremy cawed at him.

Archimedes: You know I'm doing the best I can. If only I could tell her how I feel.

Luz, Christa and King overheard him and snuck closer to hear what he had to say. They were literally behind a bush listening to him. Luz stuck her head out the bush listening close.

Archimedes: I mean, she's just so...cool and beautiful. She's always had my back when I needed her. Despite acting like a bad girl, she's really kind, supportive and caring. Just seeing her, makes my day. I'm so relieved that she didn't get petrified, or else my world would have crumbled. Oh Jeremy, I don't know if this should be my chance to tell her. But I don't know. I might mess things up.

Luz: YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON EDA!

Luz's yell made Archimedes jump off the rock and was breathing heavily.

Archimedes: ( panting) Don't sneak up on me like that.

Luz: I knew it. I knew there was some love between the two of you. That is so cute.

Archimedes: It's not like that. I mean... okay you got me. I've had a crush on Eda since I was 12. But Eda doesn't really know that.

Luz: And you still have feelings for her to this day?

Archimedes: Well yes. We've known each other since we were kids and always looked out for each other. She helped me become brave and to stand up for myself and others.

Christa: Aw, that's so sweet.

Archimedes: But the only thing I am scared of is that sometimes I wanted to ask her out but I can't do it. I don't have the courage to do so.

Luz: Asking someone out is not an easy thing. ( mumbled) Believe me I know. But you've guys known each other forever right?

Archimedes: Yeah, but if I told her how I felt, she'd reject me andpush me away forever.

Christa: Even if she doesn't feel the same way for you, I don't think she would do that.

Luz: So what are you doing now?

Archimedes: Well I'm waiting for her. We were going to take a look at a childhood spot we used to hang out.

Luz: Oh this is perfect. The two of you will be alone. Walking down memory lane and when the time is right. You will tell her how you truly feel.

Archimedes: Yes, I'll tell her how I...f-f-feel? No, no. I can't do that.

Christa: Come on Archimedes, you have to try.

Luz: Just try and say it at the right time. Don't you want to get this off your chest?

Archimedes: ( taking a deep breathe) Okay. You're right I do have to fill in this hole in my chest that's been bothering me for years. I'll try.

Then the front door opened and Eda came out.

Eda: Okay Archy, you ready to go? Luz I'll be back, we're just gonna go check something out.

Luz: ( smirking) Okay Eda.

Eda: Uh what's with that look?

Luz: What look? I'm just happy. Go on, run along.

Christa: Yeah you two go do whatever.

King: Yeah on your da...

Luz covered King's mouth not wanting him to say the word date.

Archimedes looked away his face turning red as Eda looked at them weirdly.

Eda: I swear you kids don't make any sense sometimes. Let's go Archy.

Eda and Archimedes walked away deep in the woods.

Christa: You think they'll fall in love tonight.

Luz: I hope so.

Meanwhile.

Eda and Archimedes were walking further in the woods until finally they found what they were looking for. It was an old treehouse. It looked all old, dirty, deteriated and in bad condition.

Archimedes: Our old treehouse.

Eda: I always called it the Bad Girl Coven. Come on.

Eda climbed up the ladders that was built into the tree.

Archimedes: Wait it's probably all dirty and we probably won't fit in.

Eda: Come on you're not afraid of a little dirt are you?

Archimedes: No, I mean...

Eda: Then come on.

Archimedes shrugged and climbed up with Eda. The two entered in, but they entrance was smaller than they remebered and had to crawl inside. They entered and saw things scattered like some drawings and maps on the walls. It was full of leaves, dust and webs. They could barely stand because their heads touched the roof, the place was too small and so they just sat there.

Eda: Ok this place is a bit smaller than I remembered.

Archimedes: Yeah, but you know I am getting some memories back from this.

Eda: Yeah me too. Hey do you still remember?

Archimedes: Remember what?

Eda: The day we first met.

Archimedes: Oh ha, yeah that.

Long time ago.

It was 8 year old Eda's first day at Hexside. She was being lead in by her sister Lilith.

Young Lilith: Now stay close to me Edalyn.

Young Eda: I know Lily. I'm not a baby.

Young Lilith: Mother said to stay together whenever we're not in class. You could get hurt.

Young Eda: I can take care of myself Lily.

Young Lilith: I can't believe it took you this long to get enrolled. You could have come a few years ago.

Young Eda: And be part of the baby class, no way. I'm getting in the good stuff and I want to learn it all!

Young Lilith: You can only learn one major Edalyn. I need to freshen up wait here.

Young Lilith entered the restroom as young Eda waited outside. Then she heard a commotion happening. She turned and saw a boy about her age, young Archimedes who didn't have his scars and shorter hair. He was being picked on by three bigger kids.

Bully 1: Hey look it's the nerd.

Bully 2: He's a puny and wimp.

Young Archimedes: Guys come on, I just want to get to class.

Bully 3: Hey you know the rules, give us your lunch money.

Young Archimedes: But I brought lunch today.

Bully 2: Only one lunch for the three of us? That's not good.

Young Archimedes: Don't worry I came prepared.

Young Archimedes opened his backpack and took out three lunch bags for them.

Young Archimedes: See? I came prepared now you guys have lunch of your own.

Bully 1: Hmm, okay alright now give us yours.

Young Archimedes: But this is mine.

Bully 2: Give it to us now.

Young Archimedes: It was made for me.

But then the third bully used his magic to levitate Archimedes's backpack and dumped out all his stuff.

Young Archimedes: Stop! What are you doing?

Bully 3: What is all this junk? Books?

Bully 2: Wow he really is a nerd.

Archimedes kneeled down to pick up his books and papers.

Young Archimedes: Come on you're making a mess.

Bully 1: Yeah let's stop. Let's help him up.

Archimedes for a moment thought he was serious, but moments after he said that, he pushed the books off of Archimedes's hands.

Bully 1: Oops, I slipped.

Bully 3: Here let's play a game.

The third bully took the backpack and shoved it on Archimedes's head.

Bully 3: You're it!

The third bully pushed Archimedes as the the other two pushed him as well for a few moments until finally they pushed to the ground. He still had the backpack on his face as he began to cry.

Bully 1: Oh what are you crying?

Bully 2: Yeah crying is for little girls and sissies.

Bully 3: Wow, what a baby.

Eda couldn't stand this anymore watching the poor kid get tormented liket his.

Young Eda: Hey leave him alone!

She ran over stepped up to them as Archimedes was still on the floor behind her, but didn't know she was there at the moment.

Bully 1: Oh look at this, another pipsqueak.

Young Eda: What's the matter with you guys? You're tormenting this poor kid.

Bully 2: Uh yeah cause he's a pushover.

Bully 3: Yeah now get lost princess.

Eda looked at him offended.

Young Eda: Call me that one more time.

Bully 3: ( smirkig) Princess...

Young Eda yelled and jumped up at the third bully. He screamed and fell back as Eda began puching him in the face once in the eye. Archimedes slowly took his backpack off and saw Eda fighting them.

The second bully grabbed her from the back of her shirt, holding her up in the air as she tried to punch him but couldn't reach to him.

Bully 2: Ha, you can't reach me.

But Eda couldn't punch him but did notice she was close enough to kick him. So she kicked him hard in the groin. The second bully cringed from the pain.

Bully 2: ( high pitched voice) Mommy...

The second bully dropped Eda and fell to the floor in pain.

Bully 1: You little twerp! I'll show you.

The first bully lunged down at Eda, but she moves away as he fell to the ground. She got onto his back and grabbed his hair and grabbed both sides ripped some hair out of his head.

Bully 1: AAAAH! You're a crazy person!

Young Eda: No, I'm a bad girl.

Eda then pulled his ears, making him fall. He fell and tried to push her off until she bit his hand and screams.

Young Lilith: Edalyn!

Lilith saw what Eda was doing and ran got her off of him.

Young Lilith: Edalyn what are you doing?

Principle Bump: What is going on here?

A younger Principle Bump also arrived seeing the fight.

Principle Bump: What happened?

Bully 3: She just beat us up.

Bully 1: She just bit me.

Bully 2: Get me a bag of ice...

Young Eda: It's not my fault. These three were bullying this kid.

Principle Bump motioned towards Archimedes who was getting up.

Principle Bump: Archimedes is this true?

Young Archimedes: I mean, yes they were. Until she stepped in.

Archimedes motioned towards Eda, who gave him a wink.

Principle Bump: Well I don't appreciate students bullying others. But I also don't appreciate fights or students assaulting each other. The four of you detention!

A few school guards came in and dragged them away to the detention room.

Young Lilith: Edalyn now look what you got yourself into.

Young Eda: That's how it is in the bad girl coven Lily! The bad girl coven!

Eda was being dragged away to detention as Archimedes watched her go, but didn't get a chance to thank her.

After school.

School was over as the students exited out.

Young Lilith: I can't believe you Edalyn. This is your first day and the first thing that happens, you get detention.

Young Eda: I was trying to help a poor kid Lily.

Young Lilith: You could have done it without physical violence.

Young Eda: No way Liliy. If you see someone in trouble, you gotta act fast.

Young Lilith: Ugh, what are we going to tell mother and father?

Young Eda: I don't care if I get in trouble. I did what I had to.

The two of them were leaving until they heard someone call for them.

Young Archimedes: Wait, excuse me, wah!

Eda and Lilith heard Archimedes call to them, until he tripped and fell. Eda approached.

Young Eda: Hey are you okay?

Young Archimedes: Yeah, my shoes were untied.

Eda reached hand for him and helped him up.

Young Eda: It's you, your the kid that was being bullied.

Young Archimedes: I never got a chance to say thank you for saving me back there.

Young Eda: Oh no problem. I couldn't stand it you being pushed around like that. I hate bullies. But I don't think they'll bother you anymore.

Young Archimedes: Well that's good thanks.

Young Eda: Why do you let them push you around like that?

Young Archimedes: Because they're bigger and stronger. And scary too.

Young Eda: They maybe bigger, but they're not smart and look at me. I'm not as big as they were but I showed them who's boss.

Young Archimedes: I can't believe you fought them all like that. Weren't you scared?

Young Eda: Not really, I'm not scared of nothing.

Young Archimedes: I wish I was as brave as you.

Young Eda: Don't let people walk all over you. You can be brave. If you stick with me, I'll toughen you up.

Young Archimedes: Sure I guess that can work uh...um...

Young Eda: Oh I guess we haven't introduced ourselves yet. I'm Eda.

Archimedes: My name's Archimedes. But, I'm sorry my problems got you in trouble.

Young Eda: Eh don't be. I'm always in trouble. I'm a bad girl.

Young Lilith: Edalyn...

Young Eda: Hold on Lily!

Eda turns back to Archimedes.

Young Eda: I gotta go, but I'll see you tomorrow okay. We can talk more.

Young Archimedes: Uh y-yeah. I'll see you tomorrow.

Young Eda: Ok, BYYYYEEE!

Eda met back with Lilith.

Young Lilith: Well, at least you made a new friend.

Young Eda: Yeah all is not bad.

Young Lilith: Don't get your hopes up Edalyn.

Flashback ends.

Eda: Ha, that was a crazy day.

Archimedes: Do you regret ruining your first day.

Eda: Of course not Archy. I'd probably get in trouble with something else anyway. You know me.

Archimedes: Yeah the infamous trouble maker in Hexside.

Eda: Infamous. Na ha, I prefer famous.

Then they looked out at the window and saw the sun setting.

Eda: Oh wow, we must have been here a while.

Archimedes: Shall we head back.

Eda: Yeah we should.

Later.

Archimedes was tying the pod to his staff.

Eda: You sure you can carry it back to your place.

Archimedes: Yeah I can.

They didn't notice Luz, Christa and King were hiding in a bush watching them.

King: Luz, why are watching this when we could be playing that suspect game on your phone?

Luz: Because this is it King. The part where Archimedes tells Eda how he feels.

Christa: This is so exciting.

Eda: You got everything?

Archimedes: Yeah, uh the pod is tied up and I got the photos of the ruins. I'll examine them and will upadte you on what I find.

Eda: I really appreciate what your doing.

Archimedes: Anything for you Eda.

Eda: Well then, I guess this is goodbye.

Archimedes: For now.

The two hugged for a moment.

Luz: Okay this is it.

Christa: Come on Archy.

King: You two are a bit into in this ship.

Luz and Christa: Shhh.

Eda: Well then see you around Archy.

Archimedes: Eda wait, their something I need to tell you. Something important.

Eda: Oh, what is it?

Archimedes: ( in his mind) This it Archimedes. Just say it. Tell her how you feel. ( outloud) Eda I...( gulp) I...

Archimedes was sweating as he was about to confess. Eda looked at him confused. Luz and Christa were holding each other squealing.

Archimedes: I...I...

Eda: What? Spit it out.

Archimedes: I...I wanted tell you that I...I ...I love that fang of yours and it really suits you!

Luz and Christa: Wha...

Luz and Christa just watched in disbelief.

Eda: Oh well, thanks. It's actually a fake but thought I'd try a new style.

Archimedes: Yeah it really suits you. Haha.

The two looked at each other akwardly for a moment until he regained composure.

Archimedes: ( clears throat) Anyway, if you need anything else, just let me know okay?

Eda: Yeah sure. Bye Archy.

Eda closed the door as Archimedes frowned and looked down. He made his way to his staff as Luz and Christa went to him.

Luz: Archimedes, what happened? The moment was perfect you had her.

Christa: Why didn't you tell her?

Archimedes: I'm sorry I just...I just couldn't do it.

Luz: But this was your chance. You wanted to get this off your chest.

Archimedes: It's best I don't. I mean come on, let's get real. Eda and me? I mean, she's a free spirited, rebelious witch. I'm just a humble historian who does nothing but study and discover things. Why would she want to be with someone like me?

Christa: What if she does?

Archimedes: I know her well, she wouldn't. I really must get going.

Archimedes got onto his staff.

Archimedes: Oh and Luz.

Luz looked at him.

Archimedes: I wanted to say thanks for trying and for helping her when I wasn't around. Just do me a favor, look after her if she gets into trouble or come see me for help.

He tossed her a buisness card of his work.

Luz: Yeah sure.

Archimedes: Til we meet again.

Archimedes flew away. Luz and Christa were kind bummed out that he never asked her out.

Inside the house, Eda watched through the window when he left. Though she couldn't here what they were saying, she just watched as he left and frowned. This was the first time in a while she's seen Archimedes and though it was nice seeing him again, she felt she didn't get enough of him.

She went to the kitchen and poured herself a cup of apple blood, but before she could take a sip, she just stared at drink for a while. The blood red color of the apple blood was starting to turn her off. She looked disgusted for a moment as she remembered something horrible. Something she's done. She poured the apple blood into the sink and just went upstairs to her room. She changed into he pajamas and sat on her bed nest for a moment. But the only thing she could think of was him.

Eda didn't have many friends, but did have a couple best and loyal ones. Archimedes was one of them. She remembered he was scared lonely boy until she came and helped him. She boosted his confidence and made him a better man. The two would often face off bullies and help others, they'd play games and sometime pranks others. She always had his back and he had hers. He especially had her back. Eda cared for him as a friend, but it became more than that. Over the years, since she was probably 14 she developed more feelings for him.

It was love. Eda was in love with with him. He didn't know, but Eda did start to have feelings for him too. How could she not. He's kind, loyal and helpful. He's done so much for her over the years. Even when they stopped seeing each other for a while he was still there for her.

Eda got up and went to make up table. She opened a drawer and in it were letters sent by him. He would often check up with her with letters. She a grabbed a few of them and read some of them. Most of them were asking how she was or what he's been doing. There were a few of him warning her of the Emperor's Coven coming to get her. But then she found one that really caught her eye. The first letter he ever wrote to her.

This she got about 20 years ago. It was a time she was on the run not just from the Emperor's Coven, but her own family as well because of how they, mainly her mom wanted to deal with her curse. She remembered when she first got it, she was confused who sent it to her. She thought it was her sister Lilith or her mom trying to apologize. But she also remembered it was attached to a crate of the elixir she would often take. She read the letter again like it was yesterday.

Dear E,

I know it has been years since that day. You probably feel scared and alone, yet I will always have your back. I will never be afraid of you, you taught me to be brave and I won't leave you to suffer. Sadly I couldn't find an actual cure, only a way to control the beast. Do not give up Eda, for I will never give up until I find a cure for you. Please try this potion and if you ever need to talk, well you know where to find me.

Eda smiled reading the letter again. It was so sweet of him to help and to be the one who discovered her elixir to help. But then she frown and dropped the letter.

Eda: ( sighs) What am I doing? You know you can't be with him. You don't deserve him and it's for his saftey. Then again, he's better off without you. I mean after all, why would he ever fall for you...

Eda slumped her head on the table of her make up station, then her eyes began to water.

Eda: ...a monster.

Eda buried her face into her arms and began to sob. She was then reminded of why she couldn't be with him. Because of something terrible she's done. Something unforgivable.

Meanwhile.

At the night market at Bonesborough. Thomas was making his way through the area all hooded up.

Thomas: She thinks I can't get to her huh? But what she doesn't know, I always get what I want.

Thomas made it to alley.

?: So...you arrived after all.

Out from the darkness was one of the Legion of Five members Voffa.

Thomas: Master Voffa. Long time no see.

Voffa: It has my student. But let's get down to buisness. I can't be seen here by anyone. Especially the Golden Guard.

Thomas: Yeah, yeah I know. Do you got it?

Voffa took a scroll and showed it to him.

Voffa: Yes I have it.

Thomas was about to take it off his hands until he pulled it back.

Voffa: Ah, ah. Money first.

Thomas rolled his eyes as he took out a bag of snails and handed it to him.

Thomas: Can't believe you're charging me this much for it.

Voffa: That spell is really strong. Strong spells don't come cheap you know.

Thomas: But it'll be worth it.

Thomas opened the scroll and looked at the spell with an evil smile.

Thomas: With this...oh Eda will truly be mine.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Now I know what you're all thinking " Who's this character? That's not Raine. I wanted Raine. Eda's supposed to be with Raine. Didn't you see the episode?" Yes I'm well aware. The thing is I was trying to think of love interest for Eda a few episodes before Raine's debut. But I really liked the idea of Archimedes and really wanted to use him. But I hope you all like him and I have other supporting protagonists coming as well and don't worry I still plan to bring Raine in the future. I forgot was there a history coven in the show? I don't remember. Also, I'm not entirely sure how the system of Hexside works regarding with grades and age limits, I kinda though it was like an elementary school and middle school combined. At first I thought it was a middle school but they sort have a kindergarden section too. So I had to work with what vague info the show provided us.
