Chapter 10: The Humble Historian and the Evil Bard
Part 2
Luz: Bye guys, see you tomorrow.
Luz was leaving school and waving bye to Willow, Gus and Amity. She was about to walk home until coming towards her was Eda on her staff with Christa and King.
Eda: Hey kiddo. How was school?
Luz: Guys, I wasn't expecting you to pick me up.
Eda: Eh we were around the area to run a couple errends and thought I'd pick you up.
Christa: Well the reason we were here was because King needed a haircut and we literally had to drag him out of the house to do so and even when we got there we had to restrain him so the barber would cut his hair.
King: Have you ever gotten your hair cut before? The way they comb you and cut your hair? It hurts.
Luz: King, what did I say about brushing your hair?
King: ( groans) To do it daily.
Eda: That's right. Anyway, hop on kiddo.
Luz got onto Eda's staff as they flew off. But what they didn't realize was that Thomas was secretly following her all day all hooded up and hiding in a corner. He got on his staff and followed them, but flew lower so he wouldn't be seen.
Later.
They soon made it back to the Owl House and got off her staff.
Christa: Hey Luz, can we one of those snacks that you show me on your phone? The ones you can easily make home?
Luz: Sure we can. This will be fun.
King: I want to help to. I'm hungry and if I don't eat soon...
King fell to the ground dramatically.
King: I'll...( gasping for air) die...
Luz chuckled and petted King.
Luz: You'll live King, come on.
Luz picked up King as they went inside. But minutes after they went in, Thomas landed near the area and hid in the tree and peeked out.
Thomas: So Eda, this is the place you've been hiding from me huh?
Thomas was about to get closer until he saw Hooty move and stretch himself into the kitchen window as he heard the conversation from outside.
Hooty: Hey guys, can I help?
Luz: Oh uh, we got this Hooty.
King: No you can't!
Christa: Actually can you help me reach for that bowl up top Hoot Hoot? I can't reach.
Hooty: Sure CC. Anything for you.
Hooty tried to reach for the bowl, but kept knocking down other plates and cups off the shelf, breaking most of them.
Hooty: Wait I got it. Hold on.
Thomas: I can't get to close. Not with that...bird tube whatever that thing seeing me.
Thomas got the spell scroll out and opened it. Showing it looked like a musical sheet of notes.
Thomas: Let's see says here play the song and call for the person you wish to control and command them to do your bidding. I just hope this will work from this far.
Using his staff, he stuck it to the ground and his palisman swan opened it's beak and held onto the musical sheet. Thomas formed a violin and began to play. The music had a soothing but hypnotic sound to it. The song made it's way inside the house as everyone heard it.
In the kitchen.
Luz: Okay, let's season these potatoes and add oil and put them in the oven.
Christa: Oh I can't wait to try this.
King: Make sure they're crispy.
Then they heard the song.
Luz: Do you hear something?
Chrisa: Yeah, did someone turn on the radio.
King looked out the window.
King: Hey who's that girly boy in front of the house?
Luz: Huh?
Luz looked out the window as did Christa.
Luz: Who's that?
In the living room.
Lilith: Edalyin did you sweep the floor like I said?
Eda: Of course Lily why do you ask?
Lilith pointed out all the dust and junk was swept under the rug and was noticable.
Lilith: Edalyn come on, do it right.
Eda: Hey who said you were in charge. My house, my rules.
Lilith: That maybe true but you still need to have some responsibility. Especially if you have other people living here or guests coming.
Eda: Ugh, okay "mom."
But then they heard the music.
Eda: Hey what's that...
Then she heard a faint voice calling her.
Thomas: Eda...
Eda's eye's widened. It couldn't be. It was Thomas.
Thomas: Eda...Come to me Eda...
Lilith didn't hear the voice, but didn't notice Eda's face. She just stood their with a nuetral and emotionless look.
Lilith: Edalyn are you okay?
Thomas: Come to me Eda...Eda...Come to me Eda...
Eda began to move. She walked right past her sister.
Lilith: Edalyn where are you going?
Luz: Is something wrong?
Luz, King and Christa entered the living room as Eda walked right past them.
Luz: Eda are you okay?
Christa: Eda?
King: Wait where you going?
Eda exited out of the house. Everyone followed her until they saw her approach Thomas. He stopped playing and held her close to him.
Thomas: Eda Clawthorne? I don't believe it. Can you here me?
Eda finally spoke.
Eda: What is your bidding master?
Thomas: It worked. Uh well...will you by my girlfreind?
Eda: As you command master.
Thomas: Oh no please call me Thomas.
Luz: Hey, what did you do to Eda?
Thomas: Just getting my girl back human. Why don't you all just go inside? Eda belongs to me now.
Luz: Eda does not belong to anyone.
Christa: You can't just own her.
Thomas: Well I just did.
Lilith looked at him for a moment, but did look a bit familiar.
Lilith: Thomas Harmony?
Thomas: Don't worry about your sister Lilith. I'll take good care of her.
Lilith: I will not allow you to take my sister away.
Thomas: You know I didn't want to do this but...
Thomas took out from his pocket a couple ear plugs. He puts a pair in Eda's ears and his.
King: Uh what is he...
With his instrument, Thomas made a earpiercing scratchy and screeching soundwave around the area. Luz, Christa, King and Lilith covered their ears, bothered by the screeching sound, but it was so bad they couldn't move and fell to the floor.
Thomas: Now then...
Thomas got his staff and sat at the front.
Thomas: Shall we begin our date Eda?
Eda: Anything for you Master Thomas.
Thomas: Could have just called me Thomas but that works too.
Eda sits behind him as the flies off with her as the screeching sound fades away.
Luz: Hey come back here! Eda!
Christa: That jerk just made of with Eda.
Lilith: That jerk was Thomas Harmony.
Luz: Another " friend" of yours.
Lilith: Hardly. I remember him from school. He and Edalyn used to uh...date.
Luz: ( gasps) The evil ex boyfriend. Just like in the movies.
Christa: But what just happened? Why did Eda just go to him like that?
Lilith: Did you hear the music? That was a magic spell. I remebered Voffa had someting like that.
King: The Big One Eyed Freak?
Lilith: Yes, that spell is meant to be used to control will of others.
Luz: And Thomas is using it to make Eda his girlfriend again. Ugh I hate it when that happens. What's the point of false love?
Christa: Well let's not stand here, we have to get her back.
King: Yeah but how?
Lilith: We have to get the spell from Thomas and break the connection. But we're gonna need some help.
Luz dug into her pocket and pulled out the buisness card Archimedes gave her. It had his address and number. Luz went inside to give him a call.
A little while later.
Luz got in touch with Archimedes and when he heard Eda was in trouble, he didn't hesitate to come and quickly met up with Luz.
Luz was with King and Christa on Eda's staff as Lilith and Archimedes flew on their own, flying off to find Thomas.
Archimedes: You were wise to call me for this. I can't believe Thomas. I know he was impulsive but this really low of him.
Luz: I'm glad you were able to come despite how busy you were.
Archimedes: Of course I would. I always told Eda, I'd be there when she needs. Even after what happened.
King: What happened what?
Archimedes eyes widened realizing he might have said a bit much and looked away.
Luz: Archimedes, did something happen between you and Eda before? Is that why you guys hardly see each other?
Archimedes breathed and turned to her.
Archimedes: I assume you know about Eda's curse right?
Luz: Yeah.
Archimedes: Do you know how I got these scars on my face? Or this?
Archimedes rolled up one of his sleeves and showed Luz his arm which too was covered with scars. She gasped realizing what this was leading too.
Archimedes: It was the day she and Lilith were to duel for a spot at Emperor's Coven.
A long time ago.
Eda as a teenager was in a personal tent preparing to duel her sister. Then she heard someone come in, it was teen Archimedes he wore his school uniform, since he was going for the history coven, his uniform was a light brown. He was still slightly taller than Eda, but had shorter hair.
Teen Archimedes: Hey E.
Teen Eda: Oh Archy. Coming to wish me luck for the duel?
Teen Archimees: You read my mind. You nervous?
Teen Eda: A little, but it's not me I'm worried about. It's Lilith.
Teen Archimedes: What do you mean?
Teen Eda: This is her dream. She worked really hard for this and I wanted to be there with her but, I don't want to fight her. She's my sister.
Teen Archimedes: I know fighting someone you love can be hard. But you'll have to if you want to join the coven.
Teen Eda: To be honest Archy, I don't think I really want to. I've been thinking lately, covens aren't really my thing. I want be the most powerful witch in the boiling isles and I want to know everything. Something I didn't get when I joined Hexside. I want to be free to do what I want.
Teen Archimedes: Don't you know how much trouble you can get into with the Emperor?
Teen Eda: Please, I've always been a trouble maker. You know that.
Teen Archimedes: ( sighs) Yes I remember. I was there for every crazy thing you did back in school.
Eda laughed and locked her arm around Archimedes's neck and giving him a noogie.
Teen Eda: Hey I made sure I'd get you out of it didn't I?
Teen Archimedes: Eda, please. Ow that hurts!
Eda let's him go as Archimedes fixes his hair.
Teen Archimedes: So, what are you going to do?
Teen Eda: What I think is right.
Teen Archimedes: Well whatever you do E, I'll be there to support you.
Teen Eda: ( nods) Thanks Archy.
Eda hugged Archimedes as he hugged her back.
Teen Archimedes: I better head out with the audience.
Archimedes lets go of Eda as he leaves.
Teen Eda: Archimedes wait.
Teen Archimedes: What is it?
Teen Eda: I just want to say that I...um..I uh...you know what nevermind.
Teen Archimedes: Is it important?
Teen Eda: No, no, not now I mean. But I'll tell you later.
Though Archimedes didn't know at the time, Eda was trying to confess her feelings for him, something he too has been struggling to do for a while.
Teen Archimedes: Well whenever you're ready, you can tell me.
Archimedes leaves, leaving Eda alone. She chickened out trying to tell him her feelings, but maybe she thought it would be better to tell him after the duel. To know if he would be with her if she won or not. Hopefully she could tell him today.
Minutes later.
Archimedes was sitting with the audience as Eda and Lilith stood on each side of the ring, ready to duel. Regular witches and demons as well as a majority of the Emperor Coven guards, scouts and Dorodoros watched, including younger members of the not yet formed Legion of Five, Mikela, Voffa, Shadam and Satarakura. The match started and Lilith charged at Eda. But Eda stood there, not moving.
Teen Eda: No.
Lilith stopped at her tracks confused.
Teen Eda: I refuse to battle my sister.
Archimedes sat there a bit surprised. He expected to let her sister win than forfeit. Eda approached Lilith, who still had a confused look.
Teen Eda: I decided covens aren't really my style.
Teen Lilith: Edalyn...
Teen Eda: Hey don't forget me when you're a big shot sis.
With that Eda walked away. But after leaving the ring, she felt something off. She felt a bit of pain and she stopped and grunted. Archimedes noticed something was wrong with her.
Teen Archimedes: Eda?
Eda fell to the ground and feathers started to grow on her. She began to take form of the owl beast as claws and teeth and wings formed on her, and her eyes went pure black letting out an inhuman screech fully transformed.
Teen Archimedese: Eda!?
Archimedes stood up with concern. What just happened he thought? Why did she turn that way? The coven scouts gasped and were disgusted by her look.
Mikela: What is that thing?
Voffa: She's a monster.
Shadam: A disgusting creature.
Satarakura: What a freak!
Satarakura took a rock and threw it at Eda's head.
Satarakura: A freak I tell ya! BAHAHAAHAHAHA!
Teen Archimedes: Stop that!
Then the coven scouts all boo'd at her and started throwing rocks at Eda.
Teen Archimedes: I said stop! She's not a monster!
Archimedes grabbed the rock off one of the scouts and pushed him off and tried stopping another one from throwing a rock at her. But it was no use, Eda snarled at them and ran away.
Teen Archimedes: Eda wait!
Archimedes pushed through the audience as he tried to chase after her. He noticed Lilith tried to get to her as well, but was surrounded by the coven scouts congratulating her. But he was more concerned for Eda. He got his staff and flew to find her. He eventually did in the woods. He landed near her, but when Eda saw him, she growled.
Teen Archimedes: Eda, it's me. It's Archimedes. I'm your friend remember?
He slowly approached her, but she didn't seem to recognized him. She back away snarling at him like a frightened animal.
Teen Archimedes: Don't you recognize me? I'm not going to hurt you.
Eda snarled at him again. He thought maybe it was because of his staff which resembled a scythe. He placed it on the ground and raised his hands to her.
Teen Archimedes: Eda you're scared. I don't know what happened back there, but everythings going to be okay. I'm here for you Eda.
Eda stopped snarling and for a brief moment, her humanity reached out and her eyes softened recognizing Archimedes, wimpering and slowly approached him. Archimedes kneeled down to her and reached his hand to her. But then...the owl beast part of her took control again and pounced Archimedes and attacked him.
Archimedes screamed as he was being attacked. Eda was biting and clawing into his skin. Cutting his arms, shoulder, chest and slashed across his face. Blood was spreading all over his body, on the ground and on Eda's face and hands. Archimedes turned and tried to crawl, but she kept attacking, biting into his sides, back and cutting him with her claws. During his panic he formed a light spell and bright light snapped Eda out of what she was doing. Still in her owl beast form, but her eyes returned to normal.
Teen Eda: Wha...What hap...( gasps)...
Eda got off of Archimedes. He looked hurt and was covered in blood. She looked horrified and looked down at her hands and saw blood on it. His blood.
Teen Eda: What have I done?
Eda began to tear up as she approached him. She tried speaking to him as she was about to cry and her voice started to crack. Archimedes barely had any strength in him left. His vision was fading but reached is hand to Eda.
Teen Archimedes: E-Eda...
Teen Eda: Archy... Archy I'm so sorry. I swear I didn't know what I was doing.
He tried to speak to her, but he couldn't talk instead coughed out blood as he hand was falling and his vision started to fade but could hear Eda's voice.
Teen Eda: Archy no. Please don't die. Archy don't die please. I'm sorry! I'm sorry...
Flashback ends.
Archimedes: Next thing when I woke up I was in hospital. But I was told that I was in a coma after my attack. For three months actually. My recovery was a miracle as they thought I was never going to wake up.
Luz: I'm so sorry that happened to you.
Christa: Do you...hate Eda for what she did?
Archimedes: Of course not. I know Eda better than anyone. She would never hurt anyone like that on purpose. After I was released, the first thing I did was to go to Eda's house to see her. But when I got there, her mother told me she ran away from home. I searched all over for her for but I couldn't find her and I lost contact of her for years until I found out about where she lived and first supplied her with the elixer thanks to some friends I know from the potions coven. I was hoping a cure, but we couldn't find anything on it. But didn't want to leave her with nothing.
Luz: Wow, your devotion to her is really strong.
Archimedes: She helped me so much in my life and I want to repay her. But I know she blames herself for what happened and I get the feeling we don't see each other as much because of that day.
Lilith: Archimedes, I'm so sorry for all of this. You wouldn't have gotten hurt if wasn't for me. ( sighs) I'm the one who cursed her.
Archimedes: I know.
Lilith: You knew?
Archimedes: Eda told me when I visited the other day. Why would you do such a thing?
Lilith: ( frowns) I was a fool back then. I was desperate to get into the Emperor's Coven, but I swear I never thought this would have a permanent effect on her. I spent everyday regretting what I did. I was hoping Emperor Belos had a way to cure her, but he lied and used me. After I left the coven I shared the curse with her so she could stabalize it again. Now I have it, I guess it's karma for what I did.
Archimedes: I can't agree with your decisions before, but I know you are trying to make things right with her as she told me. Just keep trying.
Lilith: I will.
King: Uh Archimedes, you still haven't told us where we were going or where Eda could be.
Archimedes: I think I have an idea.
Meanwhile at Thomas's mansion.
Thomas and Eda were sitting at a table outside on patio. There was a candle and vase of flours. They were being served by a group of Dorodoros as waiters, chefs and busboys and performing a live romantic music. One of them came and poured more wine for them.
Thomas: Uh we're still waiting for our breadsticks. Hurry it up with that!
The Dorodoro nodded and went away.
Thomas: So Eda, why don't we talk about oh I don't know...me.
Eda: Oh Master Thomas. You have such great hair. Those dashing looks, those teeth are so white and shiny.
Thomas: ( silent chuckles) Yes, they are.
Eda: Oh and your music is definitly the best. So beautiful.
Thomas: Thank you I take great pride in it. I think I even surpassed my teacher Voffa.
Voffa: What?!
Thomas: AAH!
Thomas got startled when he heard Voffa from behind.
Voffa: What are you doing?
Thomas: Uh do you mind? We're having our date. Oh uh hold on a second.
Thomas took out a stack of paper and a pencil.
Thomas: Here you are to write an 800 word essay on about how much you love me.
Eda: Yes Master Thomas.
Eda began writing as Thomas turned to Voffa.
Voffa: Date? You mean to tell me, you used my spell just to get yourself a girlfriend and you stole some our troops?
Thomas: Hey I'm paying these Dorodoros to serve me tonight. This is not just any girlfriend. It's Eda of course.
Voffa noticed the girl he was dating was Eda.
Voffa: The Owl Lady? Hmmm, this is perfect actually. If I turn her in to Emperor Belos in this state, he'll reward me plentifully. Ha, that will show that Golden scum who's better.
Thomas: Whoa, whoa, whoa you're not taking her away. She's mine. After this date we intend to get married, have a huge wedding, she'll be my wife, make my dinner and have lots kids.
Voffa: You wouldn't have gotten her if wasn't for me.
Thomas: You charged me 300 snails for this. I bought it from you. So why don't you make a like a tree and get out of here?
Voffa slapped him from the back of his head.
Voffa: It's leave! Make like a tree and leave! You sound like a idiot when you say it wrong!
Thomas: Okay whatever, leave old man!
Archimedes: Thomas!
The two stopped arguing and looked up and saw Archimedes with the group landing.
Thomas: Oh look who we have here, old Archimedes. Hey nice scars on your face. Did you cat do that to you?
Luz: ( gasps) That's not nice!
Archimedes: Words cannot hurt me Luz. I've dealt people like him before.
Voffa: Lilith Clawthorne. It's been so long.
Lilith: Voffa, you free Edalyn this instant.
Voffa: Don't try and command me, you're not my superior anymore. Wait a second, you, the human and the girl? ( silent chuckles) Emperor Belos will truly be pleased when I bring you all in, and make the Golden Guard look like a failure. Dorodoros, attack!
The Dorodoros stopped what they were doing and ran to the group about to attack them and drew out their weapons.
King: They're coming right at us.
Christa: Just stay with us King.
Archimedes: You hold them off, I'll get to Eda.
Luz: Alright.
Luz and the others were fighting the Dorodoros as Archimedes ran towards Thomas and Eda. Two Dorodoros blocked his way. He didn't stop running. His staff turned into a real scythe and went through them instantly, cutting them in half ( non graphic) and melted into paint as they died. Thomas stood up and got onto his staff and flew up. He got the spell scroll out and his violin.
Archimedes: What are you fleeing from? You're not gonna fight?
Thomas: I don't want to get my clothes filthy. Beside I won't be fighting you. She will.
Thomas began to play the spell again.
Thomas: Eda...Eda...
Eda stood up listening to him.
Archimedes: Eda don't listen to him. He's controlling you.
Thomas: Do as I command Eda...destroy him.
Eda turned over to Archimedes with a dark look.
Archimedes: Eda?
Eda then showed a whole deck of magic glyphs in her hands. She used a fire glyph and threw a fire ball at him. Archimedes blocked it with his scythe. She then placed an ice glyph on the ground and a wave of ice came at him in the form of spikes. Archimedes jumped out of the way.
Eda: You must be destroyed, my Master Thomas commands it.
Archimedes: Eda no, it's me Archimedes!
Archimedes got closer to her and grabbed both her arms as she struggled to break.
Archimedes: Eda look at me. Don't you recognize me? It's Archy.
Eda looked at him and glared at first, but when he got closer, she calmed down a moment and shook her head.
Eda: A-Archy?
Archimedes: That's it Eda, fight it. Don't let him control you.
Thomas: No! You shall not take her away from me!
Thomas kept playing the spell.
Thomas: Destroy him Eda. Destroy him!
But Eda couldn't snap out of it for long and pushed him off. She took out a water glyph and formed a water ball and threw it at Archimedes's head. His head was inside the water ball, but he couldn't break free. He was drowning inside of it.
Luz: Archimedes!
Luz tried to run to help him, but then a laser projectile almost hit her, making her fall back.
Christa: Luz!
Christa and King went to help her up and saw it was caused by Voffa.
Voffa: You three have really made me look bad when the Emperor found out I couldn't handle the mission. Oh but you'll make it up when I turn you all it.
Voffa's crown of spikes began to spark and shot a ray of lightning at them. But Lilith got in front and deflected it back at him with her staff.
Luz: Thanks Lilith.
Lilith: My pleasure, but hurry save Archimedes and Edalyn. I'll hold him off.
Luz, Christa and King ran to save Archimedes from Eda. Luz and Christa grabbed Eda's arm, making her lose control of the water ball as it fell apart and Archimedes fell to the floor coughing.
Luz: Eda stop it's us.
Eda was struggling to break free again.
Eda: Uh...Luz?
Luz: That's right it's me.
Christa: Eda snap out of it. It's us and Archimedes is your friend.
Thomas: Why those...stop interfering!
Thomas kept playing the spell. Eda fell back under his control.
Eda: Stay out of it this!
Eda pushed the two girls away. King got on top of her head.
King: Don't do this Eda. Come on!
Eda grabbed King and threw him with the others.
King: That spell he's using, it's too powerful.
Christa: So is there's no way to get her out?
Archimedes: No she's still in there. When we talk to her, she breaks free for a bit, but it's not enough to break the spell. We need something more powerful.
Luz: Then what else...
Then idea hit Luz.
Luz: Archimedes I think there is only one way to free Eda.
Archimedes: What?
Luz: Tell her how you feel.
Archimedes: ( face turning red) No, no. Anything but that.
Luz: Archimedes...
Archimedes: We're supposed to free her, not deal with my love life.
Christa: But if you tell her, this could break the spell.
Luz: It might be a bit cliched, but it might be the only way.
Archimedes: There has to be another way.
King: Dang it man. Man up and tell her!
Archimedes: No! I refuse.
But then Eda placed three plant glyphs on the floor and vines came coming at Luz, Christa and King, wrapping them up and constricting them.
Archimedes: Luz!
Luz: Tell her now Archimedes.
Christa: You can do it.
King : Just make it quick please.
Archimedes: No!
Luz: Archimedes!
Archimedes: No, no,no! Oh alright!
Archimedes ran towards Eda.
Archimedes: EEEEDAAAA!
Archimedes pulled Eda into a hug. Eda lost control of the plant magic and lets go of Luz, Christa and King. She tried to break free from Archimedes's hug.
Archimedes: Eda, I have something to tell you. Something...something I've been wanting to tell you for years. Eda I...I...Eda I love you!
Eda's eyes widened and stopped struggling. She calmed down after she just heard Archimedes saying he loves her.
Archimedes: I never told you this, but I always have. Any day that involves you make my day. I know despite what happened that day, it never changed how I feel. My life would never be as good if you weren't in it.
Eda's eyes began to tear up and looked up at him.
Eda: Archimedes.
Thomas: No, she's mine, not yours.
Thomas began to play again, as Eda was falling back under his control.
Archimedes: No, no, no hang on Eda. Stay with me!
But there was only one last thing left to do to save her.
Archimedes: I can't believe I'm doing this.
Archimedes grabbed Eda by her arms and pulled her into him and kissed her. Eda's eyes widened. Was Archimedes really kissing her? This was dream she thought. Or maybe it wasn't but she didn't care at the moment. She grabbed the back of his head kissed him back. The two stayed in that kissing pose as Eda's body began to glow and let out a bright light.
Thomas: What!?
The light blinded Thomas for a moment and the spell scroll flew up and burnt into ash.
Thomas: No! The spell!
King: The spell has been broken.
Christa: Way to go Archy!
Luz looked proud of him and Eda. But looked up and saw Thomas looking down angry. Luz glared at him and couldn't allow him to get away with his actions.
Luz: Christa, I want you to get ready to catch me.
Christa: Why?
Luz: You'll see.
Luz placed an ice glyph on the ground and it shot her up in the air at Thomas. She quickly got a fire glyph and placed it on his back. Thomas turned around in confusion, but then the fire glyph activated and sent in flying around in the air like a rocket or firwork. Luz was falling back down, but Christa quickly formed a large flower from the ground and Luz lands on it, breaking her fall.
Luz: Phew, that was fun.
Voffa: Argh! That fool Thomas. He ruined everything. But this isn't over. I will be back!
Voffa vanished away as Lilith met up with the others.
Lilith: Is everyone alright?
Luz: We are, especially these two.
Archimedes and Eda finally broke off the kiss as they just looked at each other for a moment.
Eda: Archimedes...
Archimedes: Eda I...
But then Thomas finally fell to the ground, on his face.
Eda: Excuse me for a moment.
Thomas sat up rubbing his face.
Thomas: Ow... my face.
Eda: Oh Thomas.
Thomas looked up at Eda with a nervous smile.
Eda: Hi, it's me. The girl you controlled.
Eda now looked mad as she walked towards him, cracking her knuckles as Thomas backed away.
Thomas: Eda...( nervously laugh) Eda, baby about what I did...
Eda: You're going down like a four cent pair of socks.
Thomas: Come on I was just kidding you know. Can't we all just take a joke?
Eda: Tell me Tommy, do you remember how we broke up?
Thomas: Uh how did we beak up again uh...( gasps) No please. Not that again.
Eda: Everyone you might want to look away. This is gonna get ugly.
Thomas: Not in the face. Not in the face!
Eda began beating up Thomas off screen as we watch the reactions of Luz and everyone reacting in shock of how Eda was beating him up and some of them did have to cover their eyes on certain parts.
Later.
Everyone was flying back home.
Luz: Wow Eda, I can't believe that. You really tore that guy apart. You punched him 37 times in the face, gave him a black eye on both his eyes knocked out a tooth.
King: And then you kicked him in the crotch, punched him in stomach and when he fell to the ground he you kicked him in the crotch again.
Christa: And then you topped it off with an ultimate atomic wedgie, stretched his underwear so far that when you let go it sent him flying into the horizon as if you were flicking a rubberband.
Eda: Ha, yeah he had it coming after what he did.
Eda was riding on Archimedes staff and was behind him. She looked at him, but hasn't said a word after the kiss. Soon they made it to the Owl House.
Eda: Can you guys uh...give us a minute.
Lilith: Oh of course. Come on everyone.
They all went inside, leaving Archimedes and Eda alone outside. The two looked at each other for minute, not knowing how to start the talk.
Archimedes: Eda, about earlier. I know this is um...akward but...
Eda: Archimedes, everything you said and did back there, was it all true?
Archimedes: ( nods) It is.
Eda: So then, you don't secretly hate me?
Archimedes: Secretly hate you? No.
Eda: You're being honest? You don't have any grudge against me?
Archimedes: No I don't. Why would you think I secretly hate you and or have some kind of grudge?
Eda's voice began to crack and tear up a bit.
Eda: Why wouldn't you? Archy I hurt you. You could have died that day and I thought you were never going to wake up.
Archimedes: But I'm okay, that's all that matters and I never pressed charges on you. Eda I know that wasn't truly you that attacked me. You had no control over the beast.
Eda: I still did it. That doesn't change the fact. I can never look at you the same anymore, your face is a reminder of my actions.
Archimedes: My body maybe scarred but my feelings for you never changed.
Eda looked away for a moment.
Eda: How long have you had feelings for me?
Archimedes: ( looking away from her) I think, maybe when I was 11. I mean it's hard to remember but definitly as I was growing up with you. But I never had the courage to tell you.
Eda: Neither did I.
Archimedes's eyes widened and looked at her.
Eda: I think I started having feelings for you after our night at Grom. ( giving a small smile) You remember?
Archimedes: ( giving small smile) I do. I went alone that night and I saw you there alone also after breaking up with Thomas.
Eda: Yeah that jerk cheated on me years ago and had the nerve to get me back now.
Archimedes: Remember when I asked you to dance?
Eda: Pffft, I asked you to dance. You were sweating through out the whole thing. But I guess I should have guessed you were in to me.
Archimedes: So then, you felt the same for me a while.
Eda nodded but frowned again.
Eda: Archy I wanted to tell you that day. I wanted to tell you after the duel, but then I was cursed and...after what happened I pushed you away to protect you and felt I don't deserve you. ( voice cracking again) I'm a monster.
Archimedes: No you're not. Eda you're many things, but defintly not a monster.
Eda: I just never understood how could you still love me. You sent me those elixir, informed me when the Emperor's coven was coming and wrote to me everytime just to see how I am. But why? You know this curse is bad I could hurt you again. So why do you keep helping me?
Archimedes too Eda's hands.
Archimedes: Easy E, I've been helping you because I care about you and nothing not even a few scratches on my face can make me hate or fear you. Eda Clawthorne, you are one of the bravest, smartest, and most daring witches I ever met. You had my back when we first met and I will always have your back now. No curse will ever change the way I feel about you Eda. That is why I will always aid you however I can. Because I love you.
Archimedes gave her a gentle smile and hugged her. Eda hugged him back tightly and rested her head on his upper chest. She smiled feeling comfortable in his arms.
Eda: You really are my most trusted friend.
Archimedes: Can we give this a chance? Please?
Eda looked up at him and placed her hands around his head.
Eda: Sure we can.
The two closed their eyes and closed in for their kiss. But then she heard a faint but loud breathing sounds. She turned and saw Luz and Christa, faces up against the window glass staring at them with huge smiles on their faces.
Eda: Luz! Chrissy!
Luz: No please, don't mind us.
Christa: Just pretend we're not here.
Lilith: Come on you two.
King: You guys are really creeping me out now.
Luz: No, guys.
Christa: This is the moment we've been waiting for.
Lilith and King pulled them away and closed the curtain.
Eda: ( groans) Those two. Now, where were we?
The two were about to kiss, but then Hooty appeared behind Eda.
Hooty: OOOOOH! Are you two about to make out now? OW!
Eda angrily punches Hooty to the ground.
Eda: Anyone else? No? Alright then.
She turned back to Archimedes as the two held each other. The two closed their eyes and shared another kiss.
Archimedes: That was...nice.
Eda: It was amazing.
Archimedes: I should let you rest now. You had a lot going on today.
Eda: Alright then. I will see you again soon right.
Archimedes: Of course. For real this time.
Archimedes lets go of her and gets on his staff. He smiled and waved at her and flew away. Eda watched as he left, waving to him.
Later that night.
Eda was laying on her bed nest. She couldn't sleep after what happened today. It was crazy, first she was under the control of Thomas, but then saved by her new boyfriend Archimedes. She was happy that she could finally be with him. She was gonna do everything she can to keep the Owl Beast at bay and keep her relationship with Archimedes. She wasn't going to let this ruin her life again. She got up and dug through one of her drawers and took out a photo. It was her and Archimedes as teens at Grom. She was wearing a red dress strongly resembling the clothes she wore today and held onto Archimedes's arm, he wore a black suit and was giving a nervous smile and looked like he was sweating. Eda smiled at the picture as she took it to bed with her.
Meanwhile.
Archimedes was at his study room. The room itself looked like a library and he sat on his large desk with papers and books all around. But he couldn't focuse on it. He too had a copy of him and Eda at Grom and stared at it. It's been years but he finally confessed his love to her. It was scary, but he did it and was happy to start a new relationship with her. But then he looked over at the photos of King's tower and Christa's pod next to him on the floor. He pinched his eyes looking tired.
Archimedes: Come on focus. You promised to do this for her.
As he placed his hand on the desk, he accidentally pushed the desk lamp off on the floor that was next to him.
Archimedes: Ugh, I'm an idiot.
He reached down to get it, but then noticed something on the pod he didn't before. The light shined and saw part of the surface of the pod looked a bit uneven. He felt it and it felt like hardened debris, but it was the same color as the pod, blending in with it.
Archimedes: What do we have here?
He got up and dug through his drawer took out a small chisel and hammer. He placed the chisel over the debris and hammered it off. He brushed off the remains and saw a symbol on it. He quickly got the pictures Eda gave him and looked at the one that had the symbol on King's collar. He looked back at the pod and it was the same symbol.
Archimedes: The same symbol. But what does it mean?

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry if it was long, but had a lot to tell here. This is my first ever take on romance and I've never done it before. Is it cliched, maybe but I can live with that. And I'm sure some of you are disappointed that it's not Raine Whispers I'm putting Eda with. As I said before Archimedes was being developed before Raine's debut and I had a lot planned for him since I needed a smart character for the story. But don't worry I still intend to bring Raine. Also one more thing I want to ask you all. Should Christa enroll to Hexside? I've been tempting to, but the problem is that I wasn't sure if it would make sense since she's not exactly with her legal guardians, she's finding her home and her name may not be real. Can a kid somehow enroll in school without a guardian? Can she be a foreign exchange student for now or Luz and Eda convince Principle Bump to let her join? If there is a way or you guys want her to be enrolled and have any ideas how, be sure to let me know in the reviews.
