Chapter 23: Seraphina, My Love
Part 1
Luz was in the kitchen cooking. She went all over the place as she was dicing up potatoes, seasoning the meat and cooking it. As she was cooking, she tasted the food to make see if it was ready.
Luz: Okay it's ready.
She turned off the stove and placed the food inside a container. She lastly heated up some tortillas and wrapped them up. She placed them at the table near a picnic bastket. As she did, Christa and King entered the kitchen, attracted by the smell.
King: Mmmm, something sure smells good.
Christa: It really does. What are you making Luz?
Luz: Hey guys, this picadillo.
Christa: Pick a what?
Luz: ( chuckles) No silly picadillo. It's a dish mama and I always made back home every week. Though considering most of the food here in the demon realm is different, I was able to create the closest thing to it and I think I accomplished that. I spent five days of trial and error trying to perfect it, but I did it.
King: It sure looks good. Gimme!
King got onto the table and was about to eat it, until Luz grabbed him from doing so.
Luz: Ah-ah, King no.
Luz puts King down.
King: Oh I get it. Gimme please.
Luz: Uh actually King...
King: Oh I see, I need to wash my hands first.
Luz: Uh no...
King: Oh wait, I see a picnic basket. We're going on a picnic?
Luz: Well yes, but it's for me and Amity.
King: What? Amity? It's always her now. When are you going to have time for me?
King makes a cute and sad look to her.
King: ( sniffs) Your boo-boo buddy.
Christa: Now King don't be that way. You know Luz and Amity have just started dating and this is their first date.
Luz leans down and hugs King.
Luz: Aw King, you know I'll always have time for you, my little boo-boo buddy. Here.
Luz preps puts some of the picadillo in a tortilla and wraps it for King.
Luz: I do need a taste tester.
King: ( gasps) Thanks Luz. That's why you're my favorite human in the whole wide world!
Luz: I'm the only human you ever met. Here Christa, you can have one too.
Christa: Is it okay?
Luz: Of course, I like you taste it as well.
Luz makes one for Christa as well and gives it to her.
Christa: Thanks Luz. Mmmm, you really are a good cook.
Luz: Aw thanks. But now that I know you do like it, that means it is good. This my first date with my awesome girlfriend and everything needs to be perfect.
Hooty enters.
Hooty: Oh Luuuuz. Your gf is here!
Luz: Amity! Oh cramity she's early! Uh, I'm not ready. Quick stall her. I don't want her to see me like this.
Luz runs upstairs to freshen up a little. Christa and King went and opened the door and saw Amity.
Christa: Amity.
Amity: Hi Christa and hi King.
King: ( squinting his eyes) Yeah, hi.
Amity: Um is Luz here?
Christa: Oh yeah she's just getting ready, just adding finishing touches. Come on in, take a seat.
Amity: Ok.
Amity enters the living room and there she saw Lilith who was reading a book on potions. The two of them stared at each other for bit, in an awkward situation. Since the last time they really interacted, Lilith cheated during the witches duel at the convention.
Lilith: Oh...Amity. Hey.
Amity: Lilith. Hey.
Lilith: Uh, how you been?
Amity: Um, fine. Just here to go on my first date with Luz. You?
Lilith: Oh, well. You may of heard that I kinda left the Emperor's coven. But it was for the best. Making up lost time with Edalyn and been living here for a while.
Amity: That's uh...that's nice.
Amity sat on the couch with her, but with some distance as the two didn't know what else to say.
Lilith: Hey so um. Since I can't think of a better time, I'm sorry for the whole having you secretly cheat at the duel just so I would look good at the convention.
Amity: Oh um, you know what I'm over that.
Lilith: So no hard feelings?
Amity: It's fine now. Let's just forget about it okay?
Lilith: Oh yeah let's do so. Hey, I heard you tangled with the Golden Guard.
Amity: Ugh yeah I did and kicked his butt. Well Christa and King helped of course.
Lilith: Did he give you trouble?
Amity: He was definitly trouble. He was a challenge, but had he not been a sore loser at the end, we'd definitly had won.
Lilith: But I'm amazed. You've improved and gotten stronger.
Amity: Oh, thanks.
Luz: Amity!
She looked over and saw Luz running down the stairs with clean clothes and brushing her hair ( unknowingly) with a toothbrush.
Luz: Amity he...whoa!
Luz tripped on the last step and fell onto her face, with Amity looking concerned.
Amity: Luz!
Amity rushed over to her and helped her up as Luz rubbedd her forhead.
Amity: Are you okay?
Luz: Oh I'm fine, ooh. I think I hit my head on the fall.
Amity: Aw poor baby. Here.
Amity kisses her head, making Luz blush a little.
Amity: Is that better?
Luz: Oh yeah. Definitly.
Lilith watched the two love birds and smiled. It reminded her of a happier time when she was young.
Luz: Anyway are you ready?
Amity: Oh I've been ready.
Luz got her picnic basket and held Amity's hand.
Luz: We're heading off now.
Christa: Bye Luz, bye Amity.
King: If you have any leftovers, please bring them to me.
Lilith: You two have fun.
Hooty: Yeah, oh and because this is yoru first date, just stay away from tier 15.
Luz and Amity: ( faces turning red) Hooty!
Hooty: Haha, just kidding! Hoot, hoot!
Luz nods as she lead Amity into the woods to start their date.
King: So now what?
Christa: Want to play Serpants and Broomsticks?
King: Okay yeah. I'll so win this time.
Christa: Really, because you kept losing everytine you rolled the last serpent path.
King: It was just bad luck. My losing streak is about to end.
Hooty: Oh really. Well just remember if you lose this one again you have to wear a t shirt that says " I'm a goofy goober" for a whoooole week.
King: Ugh, no way am I losing.
Christa: Lilith you want to play?
Lilith: Oh uh not tonight. I have something to do this time.
Christa: Alright, if you change your mine we'll be upstairs.
The three went upstairs as Lilith was looking through the book about a scrying potion, used to spy on people.
Lilith: Perhaps I should do more for everyone here and to know what the Emperor is up to.
Later
Luz and Amity were still making their way to the woods.
Amity: Luz you sure you know where we're going?
Luz: Of course Amity. It's a short cut.
Amity: As long as it takes us to our spot.
Then the heard something russle.
Amity: What was that?
Luz looked over.
Luz: I don't see anything.
Amity: Something just passed by.
Luz: Could just be a small animal.
Amity: Luz look out!
Amity pulled Luz back seeing that a large bug demon lunged at her from behind. It was dark brown all throughout its body, with a segmented body, six thin legs, a very long, fat, armored body, and a tail that drags along the ground. Its pincers have a spiky, sharp, and thin crab-like shape, and its legs are segmented and have a single claw on each foot. Its face has large, bulging blue compound eyes, an almost spherically-shaped mouth which can open up, a hair-like substance under the mouth, and tusks on each cheek. It's roars were more of a chirping sound like the sound of someone cleaning the floor with a machine. It approached Luz and Amity looking agitated.
Amity: Stay away from my Luz!
Amity formed an abomination which went up to the bug demon and grabbed hold of it. At first it seemed like she had it under control, until the demon spat out a large ball of silk at Amity. She got hit and was stuck to a tree, making her lose control of the abomination as it melts.
Luz: Amity!
Luz saw the bug demon approach Amity. She went up and got a her new air glyph which she recently made thanks to Christa's discovery on that power and formed a ball of wind at the demon, it didn't do much to stop it other than push it back a bit. Next she got a construction glyph and placed it on the ground. It went up to the bug demon and rock pillar hits it, making it fall back. It got back up and then it spat it's silk ball at Luz, making her drop her picnic basked and stuck with Amity.
Amity: Luz!
Luz: If I can just, reach a fire glyph I can free us.
Luz tried desperatly as she tried to reach into her pocket for a fire glyph, but she struggled to get her hand into he pocket because she was stuck. The bug demon approached the two and it swiped away the picnic basket in it's way.
Luz: No!
The two tried getting out, but it seemed they were doomed.
Meanwhile.
Lilith was gathering ingredients for the scrying potion, but the last thing she needed was fire bee honey. But that was hard since fire bees are dangerous to go up against. She hid behind a tree trying to think.
Lilith: Great, the last thing it has to be the most deadly item to get. Maybe if I can make a diversion or something to scare them off, maybe...
But then she heard the faint screams of the girls.
Lilith: That sound. Is it...( gasps) no. Luz, Amity!
Lilith put her project aside and got onto her staff to find the two.
Meanwhile
The bug demon was getting close to the Luz and Amity who had no way out.
Amity: Luz if this is really end. I just want you to know even though we just started going out, it was the best time I ever spent with you.
Luz: Same Amity, you were my Cotton Candy Haired Goddess!
Amity: Yeah...wait what?
The bug demon was about to attack, but the a new figure appeared in front of it from the trees. She was a tall witch about 5'11 with an athletic build. She wore a brown tunic, shorts and a sea green cloak. She had wild long blue hair with turquoise streaks, cat like purple eyes, chocolate skin, tattoos of different animal paws on her arms and was barefoot. She had a staff and her palisman looked like a lioness. The bug demon was about to attack her when she formed a spell circle with her staff
?: Stop!
The spell circle went up to the demon as it stopped what it was doing. She lowered her staff and reached her hand to it.
?: Easy now Meganulon. There's no need to be upset.
The demon calmed down and approached her as it let her place her hand on it's head.
?: That's it, just go back to your burrow.
The demon Meganulon nodded as it turned away and back deep in the woods. Once it was gone, she turned to Luz and Amity who were still stuck.
?: Are you two alright?
Amity: Yeah, yeah I think we are.
Luz: You saved us. We were about to be it's dinner.
?: Meganulons are quite aggressive, you must have stepped into it's hunting ground. You're very lucky I was nearby. Hold on.
She approached the two and placed her staff near the silk. The eyes on her lioness palisman glowed and it burnt off the silk, but not enough to hurt the two as they were free.
?: There you are. Free as a bird.
Luz: ( sighs) Thank you so much miss.
?: Of course, what were you two doing in these parts of the woods though?
She then noticed the picnic basked on the floor.
?: Wait don't tell me. You two were on a date?
Amity: It's our first one and would have been our last.
Luz: Yeah, anyway I'm Luz and this is my awesome girlfriend Amity. What's yours?
Before the witch could answer they heard Lilith coming.
Lilith: Luz, Amity are you two all...
But Lilith stopped talking when she saw the witch, the two let out a small gasp seeing each other.
Lilith: Seraphina?
Seraphina: Lilith?
Luz: ( whispers) They know each other?
Amity shrugs, she too was confused on what was going on. Lilith and the witch Seraphina stared at each other for a moment. Lilith gave her a small smile, looking like she was happy to see her.
Lilith: ( reaches her hand) Seraphina, it's really you.
Seraphina however didn't look too happy to see her and frowned.
Seraphina: Lilith, I would say it's nice to see you, but I cannot lie. I must go.
Lilith: Wait Seraphina, can we just talk...
But Seraphina cuts her off by raising her hand.
Seraphina: We have nothing to say Lilith Clawthorne. You made it perfectly clear all those years ago. There's nothing else to say.
Seraphina turned away from her, but looked back at Luz and Amity, smiling at the two love birds.
Seraphina: You two be more careful next time okay? These woods can be quite deadly.
Luz: Oh uh yeah, we will. Thank you Seraphina.
Amity: Yeah thanks.
She nods at them and gets on her staff and flew off. Once she was gone, Luz and Amity looked at Lilith. Her body shook and her looked at the ground. She looked sad and her eyes were watering.
Luz: Lilith, who was that?
Lilith: Someone...someone who was once special to me.
But after that she ran off.
Luz: Lilith!
Amity: Let her go. I think she needs some time alone.
As Amity watched Lilith run away, she set her attention back to Luz who looked down at the food that fell on the floor and she looked upset.
Amity: Luz?
Luz: Amity I'm so sorry I got you into this mess. And because of me the dinner I made for you is ruined. I spent all day trying to perfect it.
Amity saw the sad look on Luz's face, but she took her hand and hugged.
Amity: It's okay Luz. I'm sorry for your dinner, I'm sure it must have tasted great.
Luz nodded but still looked down.
Amity: Hey, hey don't be sad. Come on, I know a place we can get something good.
Amity took her hand and lead her out of the woods to get to Bonesborough.
Meanwhile Lilith made her way back to the house. But she went straight to her room and closed the door. She leaned her back against it and slid to the ground. This was first time she saw Seraphina in years, but seems her perspective on her hasn't really changed. She still hated her. Lilith just curled up to her knees and cried.
The next day.
Luz, Amity, Christa and King were outside and were playing their own game of grudgby. Luz was with Amity and Christa was with King who was now wearing a t shirt that said " I'm a goofy goober." Hooty was there as the coach.
Hooty: Alright, we just want to easy game. No use of magic. But be careful, I'm still the death traps.
Luz: You ready Christa?
Christa: ( stretching) I've been practicing. I'm so ready.
Hooty blew the whistle as the game began. The two teams seemed evenly matched as they each scored a goal. Then it was tied and King had the ball making his way to the goal.
King: I got it, I got it!
Christa: King look out!
King: Weh?
But then Hooty appeared on the ground and opened his mouth wide as a trap door and King fell in being swallowed.
Christa: King!
Hooty: Don't worry he's fine. Just a sec.
Hooty began to cough as everyone looked away as he coughed out an owl pellet. It opened up and King rose out.
King: Ugh! Are you serious Hooty!?
Hooty: Hey it's not my fault you fell into a trap.
King looked furious and threw the ball at Hooty, who dodged it but the ball almost hit Eda and Matti who were coming to them.
Eda: Whoa easy there. You trying to kill us?
King: Oh, Matti I'm so sorry. Please don't hate me!
Matti picked up King and hugged.
Matti: Aw King it's okay. I'd never hate you, you little goofy goober.
Eda: Yeah I was about to ask, what's with the shirt?
King: I-I don't want to talk about it.
Matti: Anyway, you guys seen Lilith?
Eda: It's bad girls night and we haven't decided what our plans are yet.
Matti: Eda do we really have to call bad girls night?
Eda: Come on Matti, it adds a ring to it.
Luz: Come to think of it. I haven't seen Lilith since last night.
Hooty: You know I went to go say goodnight to Lulu, she was kinda bummed and then this morning I went to go say good morning, but all I heard a was a groan in her room and said she wanted to be left alone.
Christa: Has she not come out of her room still?
Eda: What happened last night?
Amity: Luz and I were attacked by a Meganulon demon, but then we were saved by beast keeper. She said her name was uh...um Sepherfina, Seraphine.
Eda: Seraphina? As in Seraphina Ironclaw?
Luz: Wait do you two know her as well?
Matti: Oh geez.
Few minutes later.
Everyone was inside and went to Lilith's room.
Eda: ( knocks the door) Lily. Lily you okay in there?
Lilith: Lily's not here. Leave a message after the beep. Beeeep.
Matti: Lily come on. Open the door.
The door creeks open saw Lilith on her bed, she looked like a mess with her mascara running down her face from crying, hair messed up and around the room was few empty tubs of ice cream and she was eating another one right now.
Lilith: Don't look at me! I'm hideous!
King: Oh, this is just sad.
Eda: Hey that was our ice cream for tonight. You know I get that from the night market right?
Lilith: I just needed something to calm my nerves. ( burps) Just a little more.
But Matti takes the tub out of her hands.
Matti: Nah ha, that's really unhealthy and kinda unsanitary.
But then Lilith covered her eyes and started crying ( in a dramatic/comedic way). Eda and Matti approached her and sat next to her and placed her hands on her back.
Eda: You saw Seraphina didn't you?
Lilith: Yes.
Luz: I still don't follow. Was Seraphina a friend of hers.
Matti: She's Lilith's ex girlfriend.
Luz: Say whaaaat?!
King: Uh wrong show.
Christa: Lilith you used to date?
Lilith: Of course I did. I was young and I remember a time I was really happy and in love.
Flashback, many years ago.
Young Lilith was at her old home as she was finishing her homework for school, then she heard her mom calling her.
Gwen: Sweet Flea, dinner's ready.
Teen Lilith: Coming Mother.
Lilith made her way downstairs and saw her mom put the food on the table.
Gwen: Now where's Edalyn and your friends. I told her to be back by 5:00.
Teen Lilith: She's late. ( whispers) As usual.
Gwen: She must be at your clubhouse. Can you be a dear and go get her?
Teen Lilith: Yes, I'll be back.
Lilith exited the house and went to the clubhouse they'd often meet up and hang in. She made her way into the woods, but a rather large but was bothering her.
Teen Lilith: Shoo. Shoo go away.
But then it buzzed into her ear and nowt his upset her.
Teen Lilith: I said buzz off!
She formed a spell circle and tried to blast it. While it incinerated the bug, it hit something else. A roar was heard as something was coming towards Lilith. It was quadrepedal demon with charcoal grey skin. It had rows of spikes on it's back that looked like stone, thorny beard like a bearded dragon and had tusks from the bottom jaw sticking up and a horn on the snout. It roared ( stock high pitched showa baragon roar) and puffed it's beard looking threatened.
Teen Lilith: Oh, I should not have done that.
The demon roared and charged at her. Lilith got out of the way and tried to attack it with another spell circle. She shot another energy blast, but the demon turned it's body into stone for a second to defend itself and then back to normal to attack. It taill whipped Lilith as she hit a tree. Lilith dropped her glasses and tried to find them as she couldn't see. The demon was getting close to her, but then a young Seraphina arrived jumping down from a tree. She was shown wearing a hexside uniform with orange colors.
Teen Seraphina: Stop Magular.
The demon Magular roared at her and was about to attack. She formed a spell circle at it and it calmed down. Seraphina slowly approached it and got some food from her pocket and fed it to the demon. It fully calm now as it allowed her to pet it.
Teen Seraphina: Easy there, it's okay. Go back to whatever you were doing.
Magular nodded and left. She then set her attention to Lilith who was still looking for her glasses. She found the glasses and handed them to her.
Teen Seraphina: Are you okay?
Teen Lilith: Oh yes, I thought I was going to get killed.
Lilith got her glasses and got a good look of the girl who saved her. Lilith was a bit surprised that the girl who saved her was kinda pretty.
Teen Seraphina: You must of provoked it. Magulars don't attack unless provoked.
Seraphina offered her hand to Lilith. She took it and helped her up.
Teen Lilith: That was my fault. I wasn't trying to, it was accident.
Teen Seraphina: Well your lucky I was out here practicing my beast keeping skills. I'd say this was good practice for me. Hey haven't I seen you before?
Teen Lilith: I don't think we've met.
Teen Seraphina: Well no, but I go to Hexside and often pass by seeing you. Aren't you the sister of Eda? The one who started that food fight with abominations last week?
Teen Lilith: Oh, I'm so sorry about that. I know she's a trouble maker, but not malicious and I don't take part of them.
Teen Seraphina: ( chuckles) It's okay, I mean honestly that was pretty sick.
Teen Lilith: Oh, okay I mean as long as your not upset. Thank you for saving me uh...
Teen Seraphina: Sorry haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Seraphina Ironclaw.
Teen Lilith: ( shakes her hand) Lilith Clawthorne, it's nice to meet you.
Teen Seraphina: Lilith huh? That's a pretty name.
Lilith looked away and blushed.
Teen Seraphina: So what are you doing here?
Teen Lilith: Just getting my sister and my friends. They're late for dinner.
Teen Seraphina: You want me to come with?
Teen Lilith: I don't want to waste your time.
Teen Seraphina: I still got time to spare. Besides, you might need me again if you get attacked. Plus we can talk a little.
Teen Lilith: Well, if you insist.
Later.
The two finally made it the clubhouse. On it was a sign that said " The Bad Girl Coven." Which is what Eda called it back then.
Teen Seraphina: Is this it? Nice hide out. But what's with the name?
Teen Lilith: It's what my sister called it. Edalyn. Edalyin!
Teen Eda: You don't have to shout Lily.
Eda, along with Archimedes, Raine and Matti peaked out of the clubhouse windows.
Teen Eda: I'm right here what?
Teen Lilith: Mother says to come down. You're late for dinner.
Teen Eda: Is it time already?
Teen Lilith: Yes come down.
Teen Eda: ( groans) Sorry guys, but our time is up.
The three of them exited the clubhouse and climbed down.
Teen Lilith: Mother said to be back 30 minute ago.
Teen Eda: Okay sorry. We were just discussing our next game for grudgby.
Teen Raine: The game is this weekend and we've got to know the right strategy if we want to beat the Ghoul Squad
Teen Archimedes: I guess we got so into it we lost track.
Teen Matti: We're sorry Lily. Are you mad at us?
Teen Lilith: ( sighs) No Matti, I'm not mad. Just under a bit of stress. I nearly got killed by a demon.
Teen Seraphina: Till I came.
Teen Matti: Oh who's your friend Lily?
Teen Lilith: Oh Seraphina this my sister Edalyn and my friends Archimedes, Raine and Matti.
Teen Seraphina: Hello.
Teen Archimedes: Hi there.
Teen Raine: It's nice to meet you.
Teen Matti: Hi.
Teen Eda: Hey there, call me Eda.
Teen Seraphina: Oh I've heard about you. You're the trouble maker at school.
Teen Eda: That's me. Hey my sister wasn't giving you too much trouble was she. She's not exactly the most skilled witch in the wilderness.
Teen Lilith: Edalyn!
Teen Seraphina: ( chuckles) It's no problem at all. I was just helping her out, talked a little on the way and making sure she didn't get hurt.
Teen Lilith: I thank you again Seraphina. Would you like to come over for dinner? I'm sure mother wouldn't mind.
Teen Seraphina: Thank you, but I really need to get home myself. But hey I'll see you all again at school.
Teen Eda: Hope so, cause it'll be nice to have a new member of the Bad Girl Coven.
Teen Archimedes: Eda do we really have to call it that? I'm not even a girl.
Teen Eda: I know Archy. That's why you're the honorary Bad Boy.
Eda lightly punches his arm.
Teen Archimedes: Ow.
Teen Eda: Come on, that was hardly anything. You're never going to be a tough guy if you can't take a punch.
Teen Raine: She's right you know Egghead.
Teen Archimedes: Oh whatever Band Geek.
Teen Seraphina: I should get going too. I'll see you at school tomorrow Lilith. I look forward hanging with you.
Teen Lilith: Oh uh yeah. Me too. I'll see you Seraphina.
Seraphina nodded and ran towards her way home. Lilith watched her leave. She smiled as she watched that pretty witch leave. But then her smile faded as she was startled by Eda who was smirking at her.
Teen Lilith: AAAH! ( panting) Don't sneak up on me like that.
Teen Eda: I saw that.
Teen Lilith: What?
Teen Eda: You like her.
Teen Lilith: Of course I like her. She seems nice and...wait no! No not like that.
Teen Eda: You do mean like that.
Teen Matti: Aw Lily you're in love?
Teen Archimedes: ( mumbles) Welcome to my world.
Teen Lilith: No, I'm just...excited to hang with her again.
Teen Eda: ( teasing) Lily's got a girlfriend! Liliy's got a girlfriend!
Teen Lilith: Edalyn! You are so going to get it!
Lilith chased Eda back home.
Times kip: Two months later.
Seraphina has been hanging with Lilith and the others since the day they met, though Lilith was the one she'd hang with the most. Viewing her as her best friend. Lilith was on her way to their meeting spot in the woods. She saw Seraphina sitting near a tree and holding something in her arms.
Teen Seraphina: Lilith over here.
Lilith approached her and sat next to her.
Teen Lilith: Hey Seraphina, what did you want me to come for?
Teen Seraphina: Look what I have.
Seraphina showed Lilith the demon in her arms. It was about the size of King. It was a white salamander like demon with black spots and lines all over it's body, but looked more like they were drawn randomly on the body like paint or a pencil. It's feet and arms didn't have toes or fingers. The feet looked like someone wearing socks and the hands looked like mittens but still had a thumb. It had a long tail and small horns that kept rotating in a slow motion. It's face didn't have eyes much like an olm and while it looked like it didn't have a mouth because it's closed jaws and lips blended in with it's body, it was shown to have when it opens and had small teeth. It made a screeching noise ( stock Kamacarus roar).
Teen Lilith: Seraphina is that...is that an lake salamander demon.
Teen Seraphina: ( nods) Yes, his name is Armin. I rescued him yesterday.
Teen Lilith: You rescued him?
Teen Seraphina: ( frowns) His mother along with his siblings were killed by a hunter and he was about to be his next victim. I stopped him and found this one all scared and alone. So now I'm taking care of him. For now until I can find him a proper home before he grows big.
Seraphina gazed down at Armin making a small screech and nuzzling her.
Teen Lilith: Seraphina that was a good thing you did, but you could have been killed.
Teen Seraphina: I know it was dangerous but I couldn't stand and do nothing. I never let a beast demon get hurt under my watch. Some people view beasts as monsters or hunters see them as trophies, but they're not. Lilith blushed and looked away. Seraphina took her hand put some food on her hand, a branch with leaves.
Teen Seraphina: Go on. Feed him.
Lilith offered the food to Armin. He smelled the food and ate it off her hand. Lilith laughed a little as she pet Armin and went towards her.
Teen Seraphina: See he likes you.
Teen Lilith: Seems he does.
Time skip: One year later.
At Hexside it was Grom Night. The next Grom Queen had defeated Grom this year and it was time for the dance. Lilith and Eda stood together near the entrance. Eda in a red dress and Lilith in a black dress.
Teen Lilith: Edalyn, you showed up after all.
Teen Eda: Yeah even though I dumped Thomas, I got nothing better to do. What about you?
Teen Lilith: Oh I mean I haven't really asked anyone out, I just wanted to spend some time here.
Teen Eda: Why didn't you ask out Seraphina?
Teen Lilith: She probably has someone to go with.
Teen Seraphina: Hey guys.
They turned and Lilith's eyes widened when she saw Seraphina's dress. It was long flowing purple dress and her hair was up. Lilith blushed seeing how stunning she was.
Teen Lilith: Seraphina you look so...so amazing.
Teen Eda: Dang Sera you look great. You really went all out.
Teen Seraphina: Thank you. You both look great also. Especially you Lilith.
Lilith blushed again as Eda smirked at her. But then she looked over at the benches from the distance and saw Archimedes sitting there all alone.
Teen Eda: Um you know, I'll be over there. I'll leave you two alone.
Teen Lilith: Edalyn!
Teen Eda: Good luck Lily, byyyyyye!
Eda leaves to go check on Archimedes leaving Lilith and Seraphina alone.
Teen Lilith: So um...you really do look beautiful in that dress.
Teen Seraphina: Aw thanks Lilith. I mean it's a dress my mother got me on my birthday for my party. Did you come with anyone special?
Teen Lilith: Oh no, just with friends and sister. What about you?
Teen Seraphina: Just came alone, but hoped to see you.
Then they heard the music change to a slow dance song.
Teen Seraphina: ( gasps) Oh I love this song. May I have this dance?
Teen Lilith: M-Me?
Teen Seraphina: Who else am I talking to? Come on.
Seraphina reached her hand to Lilith. Lilith looked nervous but she took her hand. Seraphina pulled her to the dance floor.
Teen Lilith: Seraphina wait, I can't dance.
Teen Seraphina: Don't be scared, just follow my lead.
The two held onto each other as they did a slow dance. Lilith looked nervous as she made sure she didn't step on Seraphina's feet, but Seraphina placed her hand on Lilith's cheek and had her face her. She looked at with a smile.
Teen Seraphina: See you're doing okay.
Teen Lilith: Thanks I've never really done this before.
The two kept dancing and just looked at each other in the eyes.
Teen Seraphina: You know, I'm glad you were free. I was really hoping to dance with you.
Teen Lilith: ( blushes) You...you were? Then why didn't you ask me to come with you?
Teen Seraphina: I was just too nervous and thought someone as amazing as you already had a date.
Teen Lilith: Oh no. I mean, who'd want to go out with me?
Teen Seraphina: Excuse me? Lilith you're like the smartest, most beautiful and most powerful witch I met.
Teen Lilith: My sister is way more powerful than I am.
Teen Seraphina: You're still pretty powerful in your own right. I mean, I for one think that.
Seraphina eyes widened realizing what she said and saw the surprised look on Lilith's face and let's go of her.
Teen Seraphina: I-I'm sorry was that too much. I didn't mean to say that much I was just...argh I'm so dumb. Forget I said that.
Seraphina was about to leave.
Teen Lilith: Seraphina wait!
Lilith grabbed Seraphina's hand and pulled her into a hug. Seraphina didn't hestitate in hugging her back and two just stood their holding each other.
Teen Lilith: Do you really think that of me?
Teen Seraphina: I do.
Teen Lilith: Then I think you're the most fearless, beautiful and nicest witch I met. I'm so glad to have met you.
The two looked at each other again.
Teen Seraphina: Yeah, me too.
The two closed their eyes, got close and shared their first kiss and becoming girlfriends.
Time skip: Two years later
Lilith was in her bedroom packing her things. She was accepted into the Emperor's coven after the witches duel that she and Eda were supposed to fight in, but Eda forfeited. But she didn't really feel accomplished doing this. The night before, Lilith cursed Eda so she would win knowing how powerful she was, but she immedietly regretted what she did. She didn't think the curse would turn her into an Owl Beast or it would be permanent. Because of her dumb mistake, her sister was cursed, Archimedes was badly hurt, her dad too was attacked and Eda ran away from home. But then her mom entered her room.
Gwen: Sweet Flea, you have visitor.
She left and Seraphina entered her room.
Young Seraphina: Hey are you okay?
Young Lilith: I-I don't really know?
Young Seraphina: Have you heard anything from Eda?
Young Lilith: No, she's still missing.
Young Seraphina: That poor witch. She's probably out there feeling alone and guilty for her actions. But it's not her fault.
Young Lilith: It's not. I...
Young Seraphina: I mean who could have done such a thing to her? Because of their action, your sister ran away from home, Archimedes is in a coma and your dad is currently being hospitalized. Who ever did this is despicable!
Young Lilith: Uh...yeah they are. Seraphina isn't there a way for the beast keepers to tame her owl beast form? I asked Matti if she knew anything about this, but she said this out of the healers league.
Young Seraphina: ( nods) Mmm-mmm. The problem is that this is not a natural demon. This was made by dark magic. Demons or monsters made by dark magic, we can't really tame them.
Young Lilith: I see. So then, I'll find a way to cure Edalyn. Emperor Belos he must know a way to remove it. That's why I will gain his favor and convince him to help me.
Young Seraphina: I hope you do and you'll always have my support.
Seraphina hugged Lilith and kissed her.
Young Seraphina: I'll miss you.
Young Lilith: I'll miss you as well. But you'll see me again soon. I promise.
Lilith never told anyone of what she did, but she definitely couldn't tell her. Seraphina meant so much to her and was her world. She still kept in touch and visited her while in the Emperor's Coven, but it wouldn't last forever.
Times kip: seven years later
Lilith who was now the new Coven head hurried her way back to Emperor Belos's castle. She made inside and walked through the halls to his throne room.
Selene: You're late again Lilith.
Lilith turned and saw Selene behind her, who looked like she was waiting for her.
Lilith: Only by five minutes.
Selene: But you've been late quite often lately and you know the Emperor expects us to be on time. Especially you as Coven head. I mean if I was, I'd never be late.
Lilith: Well your not Selene. Get over it! Besides is it wrong just to visit some loved ones?
Selene: If they're going to distract you. Especially one I've noticed you're always seeing. What was her name? Seraphine?
Lilith: Her name is Seraphina.
Selene: She's distracting your duties as a coven head. Stop seeing her.
Lilith: I can see her as much as I want.
Selene: You're a Coven head now. You have more important things to do than seeing your little girlfriend.
Lilith: You're just saying that because you have no one to see during your free time.
Selene: Yes, but I don't need any family or partners. So I'm not asking you. Break up with her.
Lilith: Let's make one thing clear Selene. I'm your superior and my personal life has nothing to do with you. I know you're still angry that Hipporit chose me to be the next coven head and you should be honored to be part of the Legion of Five. Now I expect you to be in the Emperor's throne room right now. Is that clear?
Lilith leaves with Selene just standing their glaring at her. Kaa comes to life and hisses to her.
Selene: ( sighs) Looks like we'll have to take matters into our own hands Kaa. But this will be more interesting.
The next day
Lilith was getting ready in her room to continue her work as Coven head. But then she heard a faint conversation from outside. It sounds like Seraphina and...herself? She looked through the window and saw Seraphina outside the castle and did in fact see herself standing their talking to what looked like herself. Lilith looked confused and ran downstairs.
Outside.
Seraphina: Lilith was there something you wanted to tell me?
Lilith: Let's just get to the point Seraphine.
Seraphina: Uh you said my...
Lilith: It's over between us.
Seraphina's eyes widened. Did she just here that right. Was Lilith breaking up with her.
Seraphina: W-What?
Lilith: You heard me. I said we're done, you and me.
Seraphina: Lilith hold on you're not making sense. Is this because of last week of the whole having the aquatic demon spitting water in your face. That was just a joke.
Lilith: Open your eyes! Now that I'm head witch of the Emperor's Coven, I don't need a pathetic animal catcher like you anymore.
Seraphina gasped of what she said and her eyes began to tear up.
Seraphina: Lilith, how could you say something like that? After everything you and I went through together. I've been there for you, I supported you through all this. I love you.
Lilith: Oh don't be ridiculous Seraphine, you were a pleasant distraction sure, but I think I can do much better than you.
Seraphina: Lilith...
Lilith: What are you still standing there for. I just told you I don't love you! We have nothing else to say.
Seraphina: But...
Lilith: Go on! Get out! Get out of my life!
Seraphina then responds by slapping her across the face. Tears began to flow down her face and began crying.
Seraphina: Fine...be that way. If you wanted to break up with me you could have just said it easily.
Seraphina ran away crying as the second Lilith grinned as she rubbed her cheek, but then she heard the real Lilith make it down.
Lilith: You! What did you do?!
The second Lilith spoke, but now with a more familiar voice
Selene: So you finally made it.
The second Lilith's skin began to crack and then peeled off, revealing to be Selene.
Selene: Skin immitation potion. Just needed a part of your DNA, like a strand of hair I had Kaa sneak into your room to retrieve last night while you were sleeping to make a brew to allow me to look and sound like you.
Lilith: What did you do?!
Selene: I tried reasoning with you yesterday Lilith, but you forced me to take extreme measures. Since you wouldn't break up with Seraphine or whatever her name was, I decided to do it for you. You're welcome by the way. I had to take that slap for you.
Lilith angered grabbed Selene.
Lilith: You! How could you!?
Selene: I only did you a favor. I told you, you have more important duties now than to see her.
Lilith: I'll get her back. I'll expose you what you did.
Lilith pushed Selene and was about to run after Seraphina.
Selene: By all means go ahead. But...you'd have to tell her then.
Lilith stopped running and turned to her.
Lilith: Tell her what?
Selene: Oh you know, something involving on how your sister was cursed?
Lilith: I told you she was cursed by someone.
Selene: Yes someone. Maybe someone close to her. Someone family related.
Lilith's eyes widened. Was Selene onto her? Does she know she did it? But how?
Lilith: Are you implying that I did it?
Selene: Maybe. Maybe not. But if you did, then you'd have to tell her about it so she would know know why I did it. So what's it going to be?
Lilith looked back. She could barely seen Seraphine running away and not looking back. But Lilith didn't persue her. Seraphina looked hurt and thought bad of her now. If she told her the truth, she would hate her even more. She didn't deserve her. She didn't deserve someone as amazing as Seraphina.
Selene: That's what I thought. See you inside.
Selene leaves back inside the castle as Lilith fell to her knees and cried a little. She made another big mistake and costed the love of her life.
Lilith: I'm so sorry Seraphina. I'm so sorry.
Flashback ends.
Lilith: And I haven't seen her again for 15 years.
Luz: Until last night.
Lilith: Yes, until last night.
King: And you're still not over her.
Lilith: This wasn't a normal break up. This was one of the biggest regrets I made next to cursing Edalyn. I lied and hurt her. I still care about her, but she hates me.
Matti: Liliy I don't think she hates you.
Lilith: I tried to speak to her Matti. She didn't want to and left the moment she saw me.
Luz: Wait so Lilith, you said Selene is a member of the Legion of Five right? You guys have history together?
Lilith: ( groans) Yes. She was jealous of me. She served the Emperor's coven a few years longer than I did, yet I managed to become the next coven head. She's been jealous of me winning that title and I can only imagine how she feels with the Golden Guard taking it. To sum it up, she the worse out of all of them. You should be fortunate you haven't met her. Actually believe it or not I saw her not long ago.
Eda: When was that?
Lilith: The day of the convention. After our duel.
Flashback
A few months ago, Lilith cheated at the witches duel with Amity and after that, she and Eda fought next. Though she had hoped to win to get Eda to join her, she was outsmarted and Eda ran way. Everyone was just leaving the arena as she cleaned herself up.
Lilith: Ugh, I can't believe I lost her. I was this close. She really played me the last minute.
But then she heard a slow applauding sound. She turned and saw Selene approaching her slowly clapping her hand.
Selene: Bravo. Bravo Lilith. An extrodinary performance.
Lilith: Selene? What are you doing here?
Selene: I was just in the neighborhood and noticed the convention was on today. So decided to see what was new and couldn't help but watched the duel. I'm surprised of you Lilith. Cheating on a kids tournament?
Lilith: I only cheated because I knew my sister was going to cheat.
Selene: ( smirking) Right, but you know after seeing this I wonder oh great Coven Master...
Selene walked behind Lilith as she spoke and then held onto her shoulders and whispered into her ear.
Selene: ...what else did you cheat on?
Lilith's eyes widened and a chill went down her spine. She always felt this way whenever Selene would try to make her crack about Eda's curse. She still didn't know what made her think that or even know about it.
Selene: It seems even with the Owl Lady's curse she is quite powerful. It seems so lucky she got cursed the same day you were supposed to battle her? How convenient for you.
Lilith shook her off.
Lilith: How dare you accuse me of doing that. Even if I did, you have no proof!
Selene: What? You think it was a coincedence?
Lilith: I don't have time for this Selene. Unless you have actual buisness with the Emperor, get out of my site.
Selene: Alright, touchy. See you around Lily.
Selene laughed as she left while Lilith glared at her.
Flashback ends.
Eda: Wait so you mean Selene knows about you cursing me?
Lilith: I don't know if she really does or is messing with my mind. But she's onto me. I think she's trying to make me crack or confess to make me look bad.
Luz: Well, we all pretty much know.
Christa: Lilith, maybe it's time you tried to make amends with Seraphina.
Amity: You should just come clean to her.
Lilith: No! If I tell her, she'll hate me even more.
Matti: Lily, maybe she'll be shocked or disappointed at first, but if you try to explain of what you're doing to fix it, she might understand and forgive you. I mean that's how I felt when you told me.
Eda: And hey if anyone should of been mad at you, it would have been me because I'm the one who was cursed. Of course I'm not anymore. I mean you did share the curse with me so that's something. Just tell her I'm not upset anymore.
Lilith: She's not going to believe that. Not from me.
Eda: You might be right on that. Okay so then I'll just go with you to talk to her.
Lilith: I don't know if I can do this.
Matti: Lily don't you want to make things right with her?
Lilith: Well, yeah I do.
Luz: I mean you don't deserve to feel like this. No one does. We'll help you get back together with her.
Hooty: Yeah, let's get Lulu back with her gf! I can set the tunnel of love ready for you. Hoot, hoot!
Eda: Eh, I don't know about getting together with her again, but atleast be friends with her again.
Lilith: You'd all really do this for me?
Eda: Hey if me and Archy made up after what happened, then there's no reason you and Sera can't.
Lilith gave a small smile and hugged Eda.
Lilith: Thank you Edalyan and everyone. I'm lucky to have you all to back me up and be there for me, even after what I did.
Amity: I mean, most of us have done some pretty messed up things to hurt others. I'm guilty for the same thing.
Luz: And you've changed a lot since you helped us.
Eda: And we all make mistakes. Especially dumb ones.
Matti: But we're still here for you Lily. Always.
Meanwhile
At the conformatorium, we cut deep within the prison and find the Terrible Trio, Babalou, Karasniper and Scourge. Locked up for their crimes and each of them in their own cell, lying there waiting for their ultimate punishment to come. But then they heard the cells open up. They looked and saw Warden Wrath stand before them.
Warden Wrath: Alright get up you three.
Babalou: What is this?
Karasniper: Is the Emperor finally going to petrify us?
Scourge: I feared this would come guys. Alright let's just get this over with.
Warden Wrath: Are you sure these are the three you wanted.
Selene: Yes Warden these are them.
Selene appears before the three.
Selene: So these are the infamous Terrible Trio.
Scourge: That's us. Want a picture?
Karasniper elbows Scourge.
Selene: Hardly. Let's just get down to business, I'm...
Babalou: We know who you are. You're Selene Crimson of the Legion of Five.
Karasniper: We can assume that you are here to bring us for our execution.
Selene: Let me finish. I did some negotiations with the Emperor and I actually have a special job for you three.
The trio looked at each other confused by this.
Babalou: What kind of job?
