Chapter 30: Follies at the Coven Day Parade
Featuring Bat Choju, Battra and Rock Choju , Gazort.
At Emperor Belos's castle.
The Legion of Five were summoned to Emperor Belos's throne room, Dr. Cushing was there standing by his side.
Emperor Belos: My dear subjects, as you all know tomorrow is our annual Coven Day parade.
Mikela: Oh I know my liege, I've been working hard on the new tapestry you requested.
Emperor Belos: I'm sure you have Mikela. But the reason I called you here is because we do have a bit of an issue. Every year we select one of the coven heads to take part on our parades, that head witch we chose this year was Raine Whispers, weeks before they left.
Selene: My lord, we are doing everything in our power to find them.
Emperor Belos: Yes, but what do you suppose we do about tomorrow night? This could cause some suspicion.
Satarakura: Emperor Belos if I may, does it have to be Rainy themself or someone looking like him?
Emperor Belos: What are you saying?
Satarakura: What if I filled in their roll?
Satarakura snapped his fingers and took the form of Raine but still had his voice.
Satarakura ( Raine): Ta-da! What if I filled in their place tomorrow night? No one will notice.
Dr. Cushing: But then you'll be missing.
Satarakura( Raine): Oh they won't care. ( frowns) They never care.
Emperor Belos: Perhaps, this could work for now. Very well, you may proceed with this plan. But also I want all of you to attend and make it for my speech. And please, let's not cause any trouble tomorrow. It is a special day. You are dismissed.
The group leaves the room as Satarakura turns back to normal.
Satarakura: Did you guys hear that? Emperor Belos likes my idea. He thinks I'm awesome!
Shadam: Don't get over your head. You still need to pull this off.
Selene: I can't believe I'm saying this but for one Satarakura might have a useful plan for once.
Satarakura: Aw Selene, come here.
Satarakura tries to hug her but avoids him.
Selene: Don't you dare touch me.
The next day at Hexside.
Luz, Christa, Willow, Gus and Alex were sitting outside near the entrance.
Gus: You know, I think he does it cause he's shy. He's just evil and shy. It happens.
Willow: I heard there's just a mirror underneath. (whispers)The real emperor was society all along.
Gus: Maybe he's so handsome people have a hard time focusing on what he says. I get it. I can relate.
Alex: Say what? Goops what are you talking about?
Gus: But it can happen. There was this one time some a student transferred here and wore a mask and we thought he was ugly. Bug then he took it off and was revealed to be so beautiful that it had an effect on everyone and had to be transferred again.
Alex. Nah man, I heard he's ugly. So ugly that his body is all decayed like a zombie.
Luz wasn't paying too much attention to the story as she was just looking at her phone. At the failed takes of trying to show her mom the good side of the Boiling Isles but always ended up in failure.
Gus: What are your thoughts Christa?
Christa: Well…I don't know. I don't even know what he looks like.
Gus: Oh Luz! You've seen Belos up close. What's he like under… all that?
Luz: Oh. I never got a good look.
The Amity appears behind her.
Amity: I heard he was scarred by wild magic.
Luz startled by Amity screams and falls back.
Luz: Oh Amity.
Amity: Hola Batata. Sorry did I scare you?
Luz: Oh no it's fine, just not all there. How's living with your Aunt?
Amity: Well it's fine. I mean it's kinda odd this is all happening but Alice is great and she's making sure we're all comfortable. She's also quit her job as a tutor to work full time at the company. Hey so I wanted to ask, Did that Titan Blood ever come in handy?
Willow: Did you finish building the door?
Gus: Did you visit your mom? [teasingly] Does she know about high-fives too?
Luz: Oh, uh…
Alex: Glad you brought that up actually, we…
Luz cuts him off.
Luz: We finished, but haven't used the door yet. Waiting for a good moment, you know?
Luz hears Owlbert, she looks up and sees Eda and King flying to pick her and Christa up.
Luz: Later taters!
Luz kisses Amity on the cheek before leaving.
Luz: Come on Christa.
Christa: See you guys!
Christa follows her. But what Luz didn't notice that she dropped her phone right next to Amity as she looked at the thumbnail.
Alex: Uh excuse me for one sec.
Alex gets up and runs to Luz.
Amity: Wait Alex, Luz dropped this!
But Alex was too far gone and didn't hear her. Amity just looked down at the phone and thought something was not right here. Luz and Christa made it to Eda.
Eda: Hey there kiddos. Sorry I'm a little late.
Luz: Came just in time actually.
Alex: Hey yo wait!
Alex caught up to them.
Alex: What was that about? We tested the door.
Luz: I know but, I don't know what to say about what happened.
Alex: Oh yeah, your mom had you make that promise to go back to your world.
Luz: Yeah, I just, I just don't know what to say yet. But please don't tell them, especially to Amity.
Alex: Alright I won't say nothing, but you should eventually.
Luz: I know, just give me some time. See you Alex.
Christa: Bye Alex.
Eda: Later Al.
Eda flies off with them.
Alex: I told you not to call me Al!
Willow: Alex.
Alex froze when he heard Willow.
Alex: Willow! Sprouts, uh yeah?
Willow: What was that about?
Alex: Oh well uh you see uh….
Then Alex got an idea.
Alex: I was offering Luz and Christa to come with me to the Coven Day parade tonight and well they said they were busy but I also wanted to invite you.
Willow: Oh well, let me just tell my dads and yeah I can go.
Alex: R-Really?
Willow: Yeah, oh and maybe Gus and Amity would like to come too.
Alex: Uh…
Gus: Actually guys my dad needs me for filming tonight.
Amity: And I need to do some uh…thinking.
Willow: Oh well, I guess it's just you and me Alex.
Alex: Yes it's a date! I mean not a date just you know two friends going out. I mean not going out, hanging out. Two friends hanging out, one of them just happens to be a boy and the other a girl and uh….
Willow looks at him awkwardly.
Alex: Shutting up now.
Willow: Okay well just meet me at my house at 6.
Willow leaves.
Alex: Yes! I did it. Alex you son of a gun you got the girl! Yeah baby!
Meanwhile, Luz and the others land at Bonesborough and see coven scouts and dorodors decorating the town.
Luz: What's going on?
King: They must be decorating for the annual Coven Day Parade.
Christa: Coven Day parade?
King: Yeah floats, streamers, fireworks…
Eda: Eh it's just a fancy day to kiss the Emperors…
Luz and Christa covered King's ears and glare at Eda.
Eda: Uh…whatever let's go. Archy's waiting for us.
They leave but Luz notices Kikimora in an alley taking on the Raven phone.
Kikimora: Mother, please! No, I'm not seeing anyone. Yes, I'm standing up straight. Listen, I can't come home. If I don't lead this parade, Belos will end my– No! No, of course, I miss everybody. I… What? I can't choose! Hello? Mother? Mother?
Luz saw she was having mother issues too, but she moved on to the others. She caught up and saw Archimedes waving to them.
Eda: Archy!
Archimedes: Hey! Glad you could come. Luz, Christa, how was school?
Christa: School was fine. We learned about a special species of mushrooms that can turn people into mind controlled zombies and what to do stop that kind of situation.
Archimedes: Oh that's great, what about you Luz? Luz?
Luz: Oh hey Archy.
Archimedes: Hey you doing okay?
Luz: Just been having a lot on my mind.
Archimedes: Is this about yesterday? With your mom?
Luz: ( glum) Yeah.
King: Come on Luz, there's no way your mom would make you leave the Demon Realm. Not permanently at least.
Archimedes: ( places his hand on her shoulder) Your mother is just worried about you. Any mother would. But when we meet her, I'm sure we can work something out with her.
Eda: I'll put on my charm. It makes people into obedient zombies.
Christa: Things will be fine, okay Luz?
Luz: Yeah okay, thanks.
Eda: So Archy, you called me for something?
Archimedes: Yes, so as you all know today is Coven day but there's word going around that Rain Whispers is supposed to be there at the parade.
Eda: What? Raine?
Luz: I'm lost. Who's Raine?
King: Oh that's right. Guys I have some goss for you. Hot Goss!
Eda: ( irritated) King?
King: So other than dating that crazy ex boyfriend who mind controlled Eda and Warden Wrath.
Eda: Warden Wrath was never my boyfriend! We went over this!
King: Eda used to date this witch…
Eda: Have you been reading my diary?
King: …and get this. They're head of the Bard Coven and…
Eda: Yes! They secretly lead a rebel group against the Emperor, fought Thomas, the five and two choju! I was there and so was Archimedes!
Archimedes: It was an awkward day for us.
King: Ooh, didn't read past that part.
Luz: No way! More of Eda's backstory? This is just like when Azura and Hecate helped fight the rebel against the Mysterian Empire.
Christa: So you guys dated once?
Eda: It was a long time ago, but they're another good friend Archy and I knew growing up. But last time I saw them, they helped us escape as they lured the five away. That was a few weeks ago.
Archimedes: But it seems they were caught and are now working for the Emperor.
Eda: But that makes no sense. Why would Raine work for him after working so hard on the rebellion.
Archimedes: Maybe they're being forced to or are being hypnotized.
Christa: Well now you know where they are so you can see them right?
Eda: It's not that simple Chrissy. If they're going to be in the parade, they'll be surrounded by scouts, dorodoros and the five will be there too. If only we had someone from the inside.
Luz thought about it and looked over at Kikimora who looked sad and tripped and fell as two dorodoros approached her.
Kikimora: Just walk over me like the dirt I am.
They shrugged and walked over her. Luz looked back to Eda and motioned towards her.
Eda: ( snorts) Yeah, right. As if she'd give us the time of day.
We then cut to Kikimora all teary-eyed and crying with everyone standing around her and Luz sitting next to her comforting her.
Kikimora: And– and then she said if I don't make it back for the family reunion, I'd be banished from Palm Stings and the family home! But I've failed too many missions, and if I leave my job now, I'll be banished from my life! ( sobs)
Luz: There, there it's alright. But you know what, maybe we can help each other out.
Christa: Um excuse us for a moment.
Christa pulled Luz away from Kikimora so she and Eda can talk to her.
Christa: Luz, you can't be serious about this! This is Kikimora we're talking about. The one who's been causing trouble lately. Have you forgotten what she did to us at Latissa?
Eda: And don't forget, she nearly turned me to stone, attacked us at Eclipse lake and let's not forget she threw boots into a pit.
Kikimora: We'll technically I said I didn't care. I didn't exactly say throw her…
Eda: You're not in this conversation!
Christa: She's bad news Luz. And bad in the bad way not the cool way like Eda told me.
Eda: Amen sister.
Luz: I know! I know. But isn't it worth it to get Raine?
Eda: I guess. But what are you gaining out of this?
Luz: Um…I…I just like doing the right thing you know.
Eda: Hm, yeah that's about right. Hey Kiki, is Raine really here.
Kikimora: That's what I heard. I didn't even know they were caught till a while ago. The Legion of Five haven't been talking to me lately. I guess they don't want me to interfere with their personal goals.
Eda: ( groans) Alright we're in.
Kikimora: You mean you'll help me?
Eda I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing it for Raine.
Christa: Alright, so what do you have in mind Luz?
Okay we're going to get Kikimora home and save Raine…by kidnapping them!
Everyone: What?!
Meanwhile at Alex's house
Alex was standing in front of a mirror getting ready for tonight.
Alex: Okay should I wear something fancy or casual? Fancy or casual? Well I don't want to make look like a date. It's just us hanging together as friends. But this will be great for us to bond more and at the end I will muster up the courage and ask her out.
Luz and Christa: WHAT?!
Alex: AAAAAAAH!
Alex turned around and saw Luz and Christa outside his window on Christa's staff.
Luz: Alex do you have a crush on Willow?
Alex: (blushing) Uh no. I was talking about someone named uh, uh Jello.
Luz and Christa look at him all starry eye and with huge smiles.
Luz and Christa: Ooooh Alex!
Alex: What the heck are you two even doing here?
Luz: Oh so we're planning something big tonight for the parade and we need your help.
Alex: What the? I'm in the middle of getting ready.
Luz: I know but this is important. We're trying to stage Kikimora's kidnapping so we can save an old friend of Eda's.
Alex: That sounds like a very dangerous idea that could backfire horribly.
Luz: Nah this one's full proof.
Christa: But we really need your help for the complicated parts and no one is better at this than you are.
Alex:Ha, well I don't like to brag, but I don't know.
Luz: Just help us on this part real quick and you can go back on your date.
Alex: It's not a date and I can't.
Luz: ( sad and pleading look)Please, please , please!
Alex: Luz.
Luz: (sad and pleading look)Please, please, please!
Alex: Come on.
Luz: ( sad and pleading look)Please, please, please!
Alex: Okay! Alright! But only until 6.
Later. The float was almost ready as Alex stepped out.
Alex: Okay, I got the main mechanisms done, you just got to add the finishing touches to the outside. Here's the instructions to operate.
Luz: This was big help. Thanks Alex.
Alex: Eh no prob. I gotta go, but good luck on your heist.
Luz: And good luck wooing Willow.
Christa: You guys have fun and hope you get together.
Eda: Go get her Al.
Alex: Don't call me Al!
Later.
Alex made it to Willow's house. He rang the doorbell and wiped off any dust or dirt he may of gotten from building. Soon the door opened and he saw Willow, but with a new hairstyle, it was now braided with twin pigtails.
Willow: Hey Alex.
Alex: Willow, hey sorry I'm late had to uh, deal with something quickly.
Willow: Its fine, we still got time.
Alex: You look uh, different.
Willow: Oh yeah, Amity was just here, she braided my hair like she used to when we were little.
Alex: Well I can say for sure you I really like it.
Willow: Aw thanks. Well she originally came saying she thinks Luz is lying to us about the door.
Alex : Uh, Wha-What would make her think that?
Willow: She said she left her phone and noticed strange videos on them. She hasn't watched them but gets the feeling she's hiding something from us. Do you have any idea what this is about?
Alex: What? Nah, I'm sure she's just overthinking things, we all do. Hey come on, we're going to be late for the parade.
Later
The coven day parade has started as the citizens stood and watched floats of different covens coming by. As all this was happening, Luz, Christa, Eda and Archimedes were on the rooftops going over the plan.
Luz: Okay so let's go over the plan one more time. We're going to keep an eye on both Kikimora and Raine's float as well as ours that we made. Lilith, King and Hooty will be operating and once they give out the signal, we sneak down and fog the area. Christa and I will take Kiki while Eda and Archy get Raine as we both get away from the area before anyone notices.
Christa: Luz are you sure this will work?
Luz: Uh is Mississippi hard to spell?
Christa: Mrs who?
Archimedes: Well we made it this far. There's no point turning back now.
Eda: You really didn't have to help us with this.
Archimedes: Hey I told you E, if you're going to do something crazy, at least have me there to back you up. Just like old times remember
Eda: Yeah, your the best Archy.
Eda places a kiss in his cheek.
Luz: Okay everybody get ready. Wait, I think we should speak in code so in case they have radios, they won't understand what we're saying. I'll go first. Christa, the bologna is not a sandwich.
Christa: What? Tomorrow's bologna day is canceled.
Luz: No I'm speaking in code. You know what never mind, let's just talk normal.
Christa: Yeah you're not making sense to me.
We cut to the ground where Alex and Willow are watching.
Alex: Oh look at the construction float. Really well made.
Willow: The plant float looks really nice. I can't remember the last time I've been here myself.
Alex: Yeah, my dad took me here a lot as a kid.
Willow: Have you been talking with your stepmom.
Alex: Um just small talk now and then.
Willow: Just keep doing what you're doing.
Alex: Yeah okay.
Alex looked at her as she gazed at the parade. He thought now was his chance to tell her.
Alex: So Willow, listen these past few weeks of coming to Hexside, have actually been great. I never was a sociable guy but meeting you, it changed that. I'm really glad to befriend you guys, especially you for being the first person to approach me.
Willow: Aw Alex.
Willow hugs him.
Willow: I'm glad you're opening up more and I'm glad to have met you as well.
Alex: So, I was thinking. Are you…um…will you…
Gus: Hey guys.
They hear Gus and see him coming to them.
Willow: Gus you're here.
Gus: Yeah, my dad had extra help this time and gave me the night off. I came to find you.
Willow: Glad you're here. Alex was just telling us how grateful he is to meet us.
Alex: Uh…yeah. Glad to see you Goops.
Gus: Aw Alex, you know it's great to have another member in our group and even though we met a few weeks ago, it feels like ten years. Give me five!
Alex gives a small smile and high fives him, but was mildly annoyed his moment was interrupted.
Alex: ( in his mind) I mean I wasn't lying when I said that the past few weeks were great, but maybe I can tell her if I walk her home.
The three continued to watch but didn't notice Amity on the other side watching, looking like she was waiting for something to happen
Finally, the Emperor Covens floats were coming. One showed Selene and Shadam together showing off their magic and another one had Kikimora driving with Mikela waving to the crowd loving the attention and Satarakura as Raine pretending to play with Voffa actually paling the music from the inside of the float.
Satarakura ( Raine): You hear that, they love me.
Mikela: They're cheering for Raine not for you.
Satarakura ( Raine): And who's filling in their shoes?
Mikela: Just stay in character and play.
Satarakura ( Raine): But I'm not even playing.
Mikela just groans as Kikimora looked anxiously at her watch. Finally the float the group made arrived which was a large operating animatronic of Belos.
Archimedes: Is that ours?
Luz: Pretty cool huh.
We cut to the inside of the float with Lilith, King and Hooty operating it.
King: Is it time yet?
Lilith: Not yet, but we're getting close
Lilith makes the float wink.
Eda: That's the signal let's go.
They made it down and got ready for the distraction.
Lilith: Oh I can't believe I'm doing this. So this is what it's like to be a bad girl. AAH, itt feels so awesome!
King: Okay auntie, it's time.
Lilith: Hootsifer, will you do the honors?
Hooty: Will do!
Hooty pulls the lever and fireworks were shooting out of the floats eye. This got everyone's attention as the fireworks were spelling insults like " Belos more like Boo-los."
Mikela: What?! Who's responsible for this?
Satarakura ( Raine): Bahahahah! Boo-los. That's a good one. Bahahaha…( then sees Mikela glaring at him) Oh I mean, that's not cool.
Carl: Uh should we go check that out?
Kikimora: Yes go check that out. Mikela you should too.
Mikela: Oh alright. You two wait here.
Mikela gets off and goes with the guards to investigate. Once they were gone, Luz and the others turned visible behind the float. Luz looked at Christa and gave her a nod. Christa formed on each hand one a fire and the other ice and brought them together to make a fog. Luz and Christa approach Kikimora and Luz picks her up.
Luz: And scoop!
Kikimora: Ooh! I cannot believe we are being taken against our will. What sayeth you, fiend?
Luz: Uh! That's right! I, Hecate, will whisk you away to my kingdom of mirrors and snakes! Isn't that right sidekick.
Christa: Uh yeah! I her trusted sidekick Demona will take you away and there is nothing you can do about it. Mwahahahaha!
Amity facepalms her face, cringed by their acting.
Gus: That sounded like Luz and Christa don't you think?
Alex: Uh no, I don't think it did.
Kikimora: Really? That's the best you can do?
Christa: Hey we weren't really prepared for any lines.
Then Satarakura as Raine appeared behind then and was about to attack, only for Eda to use a plant glyph to tie him up.
Eda: Knock it off you three and let's get outta here.
Luz: We'll meet up later.
Eda and Archimedes takes Satarakura and disappear as did Luz and Christa with Kikimora. As they left, Amity ran off to find them.
Willow: Was that Amity?
Alex: Where I don't see. It's a large crowd after all.
Gue: Okay something really is up.
Willow: Agreed, let's go.
Alex: What?
Willow: Luz and Christa needs are help, I know it.
Gus: It's what we do. You coming?
Alex: Yeah I'm right behind ya. ( mumbles) Those two owe me big for this.
As they ran off, we see the guards and dorodoros with Mikela approaching the float.
Lilith: Distraction was a success but we're about to get caught.
King: How do we get out of here?
Hooty: Just leave it to the Hootmeister guys.
Hooty takes control of the float.
Mikela: What the?
Hooty: Hi! It's me! Your good buddy Belos! Worship me!
Carl: Kill that monstrosity.
Hooty: Not the first time I heard that! Hoohoohoohoot!
Earl: Get him
Hooty begins hopping away as the guards chased after him. Mikela joined back with the others as Voffa emerged out of the float.
Voffa: What happened? What's going on?
Mikela: An ambush. They kidnapped Kikimora and Satarakura! Oh well, you win some you lose some.
Shadam: No! You two go find her. The Emperor wants us all to be here plus I can sense the human and the girl were here. Something is completely off here and I think Kikimora was involved. Now go find her and make mention of a promotion the Emperor has for her.
Mikela: Promotion? What promotion?
Shadam: Just go!
Mikela: Okay, okay. ( raises staff) Arise choju Battra!
A fireball shoots out of his staff to the ground, the smoke clears up and a new choju stood. It was a tall and slender choju that resembled a bat. It's body had blackish purple fur with dragon-like feet and tail and small dorsal plates from the back to the tail. The wings were under its arms and the head resembled a long-nosed bat but with long ears, red eyes, sharp teeth and vampire-like fangs. It flapped its wings and roars ( stock Showa gyaos roar) and bowed to Mikela.
Mikela: Fly my servant, find Kikimora and those who kidnapped her.
Battra roared and flew away to search as Mikela and Voffa followed below leaving Shadam and Selene behind.
Meanwhile
Eda and and Archimedes turned visible in an alley and untied who they think is Raine.
Eda: ( hugging them) Raine! I'm so glad your okay.
Satarakura ( Raine): Whoa, I had no idea you care so much about me Owl Lady.
Eda's eyes widened and let's go after hearing that voice.
Eda: You're not Raine.
Satarakura ( Raine): Ding, ding, ding! You got it right.
Satarakura'a body flashes and turns back to normal.
Satarakura: Eda! Ah it's been forever since we last saw each other. And you brought your boyfriend too.
Eda: You! What did you do to Raine?
Satarakura: Nothing. They still haven't been found so I was just filling in thei role so no one would question.
Eda: So then, this was all for nothing?
Archimedes: Kikimora really duped us.
Satarakura: Well we never really filled her in on the details of my plan. Considering her past failures we haven't really been talking to her much so it was more a lack of communication. But now I can't let you two go.
He snapped his fingers and fiery barrier blocked the exit.
Satarakura: You two really caused a riot today, on the Emperor's day of all days. But perhaps bringing in you two will make this up.
Eda and Archimedes had their staffs ready to fight as Satarakura formed three more duplicates of himself.
Satarakura: But let's not hurry on that. Let's have some fun.
Meanwhile
Luz Christa and Kikimora were as far away from the parade as possible.
Christa: (pants) Okay. I think. I think we lost them.
Kikimora: What are you doing? We have to turn invisible now.
Christa: Give us a moment to catch our breath.
Luz: Besides we're long gone by now.
Then they heard Battra's roar. That looked up and saw him flying around.
Christa: Choju.
Luz: Hide.
The three of them hid behind some barrels and hid under a rug.
Mikela: Oh Kikimora! Where are you?
Voffa: Kikimora can you hear us?
Mikela: She's around here I know it.
Christa: ( whispers) What do we do?
Luz: Hold your breathe.
Luz got out the invisibility glyph as the three snuck out.
Mikela: Oh maybe she is long gone by now.
Voffa: Yes and right before her promotion too.
Kikimora let out a little yelp after hearing that and breathed a little which caused them to become visible.
Kikimora: Oops.
Voffa: Ah ha, there you are and look what we have.
Mikela: Why if it isn't Luz the human and Christa. I've been anxious to see you two again, especially after you sunk our ship!
Voffa: Yes and for ruining our first mission and disrupting the parade, you two are under arrest!
Christa stepped up and formed her hands into fire.
Christa: Stay back. Luz you get out of here.
Luz: No I'm not leaving you behind Hermana.
Christa: Go! If you fail this will be for no….AAAAH!
Christa's right arm was cut by a yellow laser from above which was caused by Battra. She fell to her knees holding her arm. It felt like a blade cutting down her arm as she was bleeding.
Luz: Christa!
Luz rushed to Christa to help her up. Then she heard Battra's roar. He was flying down at the two about to strike, but then an abomination appeared in front of it and grabbed hold of Battra. It struggled to get out but was tuck in its gooey body.
Mikela: What?!
But then two large abomination balls came at the two and trapped them in it. They turned around and saw it was Amity.
Amity: You guys okay?
Luz: Hermosa, but how did you…
Amity: Book 5, chapter 8, Azura pretends to kidnap Hecate–
Luz: During the ice festival to save her from the wizard clan!
Christa: Oh I love that part.
Amity: Christa your arm!
Christa: It's just a scratch.
Luz took out a plant glyph and formed a large leaf ton wrap around her arm to stop the bleeding.
Christa: Thanks.
Luz: Don't mention it.
Amity forms a long Abomination skateboard.
Amity: Hop on.
The four of them got on and rode off.
Meanwhile.
Eda and Archimedes continued to fight Satarakura and his duplicates but couldn't figure out which was the real one. Archimedes swung his scythe and shot magic waves at the duplicates and were dealt instantly. Eda used an ice and plant glyph at two of them, both were duplicates.
Archimedes: Any luck E?
Eda: They all act and look the same.
The Satarakura kept laughing and mocking them. Though they lacked major magical abilities, they were still fast and had kept throwing knifes and toy bombs. Every time they took down a duplicate another would instantly appear.
Archimedes : If we can just find the real one.
Eda: Wait I might have an idea but I need a minute.
Archimedes: I'll cover you.
Archimedes took on all the duplicates at once as Eda quickly drew a glyph combo to make a fog. Once she did, she used it and fogged the area.
Satarakura: Oh what the? This fog I can't see.
With the real Satarakura unable to see what's going on he couldn't make any more duplicates. Eda and Archimedes took each one down until finally Archimedes hit the real one. He fell back with the most clearing up and the fire blocking the exit disappearring. He had his scythe st his head.
Archimedes: Don't move.
Eda: Ha! That's how the Bad Girl coven rules! In yo face!
Satarakura: Hey now that was a dirty trick. So now what you're gonna kill me It won't do you nothing. You're not getting Raine anytime soon.
Eda: I'll be sure to find them before you do.
Satarakura: I wouldn't count on it. They will help us whether they want to or not. Bahahaha!
Eda angered hits him on the head with her staff knocking him out. She looked down frowning and covers her eyes. She felt Archimedes hand on her shoulder.
Archimedes: Hey we'll find them soon. The fact that they weren't caught, at least we now know they're okay.
Eda: Yeah. Let's go.
Meanwhile.
We cut back to Luz and the others making it to the docks where Kikimora's hand dragon was.
Luz: Okay, Kikimora. Princess here will get you back to your family in Palm Stings by morning. She's a good girl, and I'm sad to say goodbye, but Bump couldn't keep her at his place anymore.
Luz lets her go as Kikimora gets on.
Luz: Isn't it great? You'll see everyone at the reunion, and when you return, you can brag about your daring escape! You're walking proof that you don't have to chose between worlds!
Kikimora: Wow I, I really don't know what to say. You've been such great help to me.
Luz: Oh it was nothing.
Kikimora: No I mean it. Your are so kind...and an utter fool!
Luz: Yes I...wait what?
Christa: Back stabber!
Amity: Are you serious?! We just helped you escape so you can go back to Palm Stings!
Kikimora: Palm Stings can burn for all I care. You heard them, I'm getting a promotion and I think I can get better turning in you three.
Kimomora and her dragon sets their attention at the three about to attack.
Kikimora: But thank you Luz for all your help.
Luz: You're welcome! Wait no I mean you're not welcome. But your thanking me so…ARGH!
Kikimora: Now prepare to….
But before she could do anything, Kikimora and her dragon were frozen in place by Christa's ice magic. But after that she held her arm winching from the pain.
Luz and Amity: Christa.
Christa: Had to use both if I wanted to freeze her. I'm fine, just need to rest.
Luz: Well that was a complete waste of time.
Mikela: I wouldn't say just yet.
They turned and saw Mikela and Voffa with twenty dorodoros and hear Battra's roar from the sky.
Mikela: You didn't think you got away from us that easily did you?
Voffa: This is perfect. We have not one, not two but three brats that gave us trouble. This is the end of the road for you.
Mikela: Oh and just to make sure this won't fail. ( raises staff) Arise choju Gazort!
The staff shoots a fire ball to the ground. The smoke cleared up and new choju stood there. This was a biped slender choju with rough lumpy skin looking like it was made of rocks. It had scorpion pincers and a long tail looking like a whip. The neck was a little long and the head looked a horned viper with yellow eyes. It roared ( stock Sadola roar) and was ready to fight.
Luz: We're outnumbered, by a lot.
Amity: Just stay together.
Luz got her glyphs ready. Christa with her good arm fire and Amity turned her hands in abomination hands.
Mikela: Attack!
The dorodoros charged at the trio. Amity aimed her abomination arms at them as Luz place a fire glyph on each one.
Luz: Fire!
Amity fired her arms at them. The blast destroyed a handful of them, but the rest of them made it through as they took on them head on. Luz and Amity fought together on some of them, but Christa got separated and while she did fine at first, she was then approached by Gazort. She used a fire ball at him, but it had little effect. Gazort retaliated by hitting her with his tail. Then she tries to use ice magic on him. It had no effect since it was a weak blast. If she tried using both arms it would be stronger but she couldn't with her bad arm. Gazort hit her across the head with hits claw and knocked her down. It roared and was about to go to her again. But then felt a blast hitting its back. It turned and saw it was caused by Luz and Amity.
Luz: You stay away from her!
Gazort roared and breathed fire at the two. Luz placed an ice glyph on the ground and and ice pillar rose up and when the fire hit it, it made a mist. Gazort looked around as Luz went to save Christa and Amity made an abomination to hold it down. But then Battra flew down. It shot its laser at them. Christa used her construction magic to make a stone wall to protect the three. Battra landed and began flapping his wings to blow the fog away. He looked over at Gazort struggling out of the abominations grasp and helped by shooting at the head as it melted away and freeing Gazort. The two choju set their attention at the three with twelve dorodoros. It looked like they were done for until a vine wrapped around Battra's neck from behind and was pulled down on its back. They looked and saw it was Willow, Gus and Alex.
Luz: Guys!
Willow: Sorry we're late. Had a hard time looking for you.
Alex: Now that we're here, it's time for the real fun to begin.
Voffa: So you want some too? Fine have at you!
Luz: Guys watch out for its laser!
Battra got up and roared as it flew up with the three of them still hanging on. They let go and fell, but Willow acted quickly and formed three large flowers on the ground to land gently. Battra was flying down at them about to attack but once he got close they disappeared revealing to be an illusion made by Gus. As the three took on a small group of dorodoros, Batte came at them. Willow formed three thorny vines at him, yet he used his laser and cut through the vines clean. The laser was coming at her but Alex formed a stone wall and guarded her. Battra continued firing at the stone shield, chipping it bit by bit.
Gus: Hey choju. Looky, looky!
Battra roared and shot its laser at him, yet was just an illusion. More duplicates of Gus appeared and ran around i circles to confuse Battra. Alex lowered the shield and that's when he and Willow noticed something odd about the choju. This one couldn't turn its neck side to side. Whenever Battra had to look the other way he had turn his whole body around.
Alex: Sprouts you see that?
Willow: Yeah, he can't turn his head side to side. That means we might have an advantage.
Battra began firing his laser at the Gus duplicates, until the real Gus tripped and lost control. Battra was about to fire again at the real Gus until a rock hit him at the left side of his head. Battra turned to Alex about to attack him, but the a vine shut his mouth tight. Battra tried to take it off until Alex head locked him. Hit him a couple times on the head and threw him aside. Battra got up and fired at Alex, but he disappeared revealing to be an illusion.
Alex: Hey bat brain, over here!
Battra heard Alex from his left. He turned his body around, but wasn't fast enough as Alex punched the ground and a stone fist punched Battra up as Willow formed a large Venus fly trap that trapped him in.
After defeating the last few dorodoros, Luz, Amity and Christa took on Gazort. Gazort breathed fire at the three, Christa shot a stream of water at the fire extinguishing it before it would hit them. Gazort roared and stretched his arms a the three about to pinch them. The three dodged as Gazort swung his tail at Amity. She formed an abominatio, had it grab his tail and swung him around and threw him aside. Luz got out some fire glyphs ready and while it was down she placed a few on its back. They exploded upon impact and Gazort quickly got up about to attack her. But Christa punched the ground which created a rock pillar from below and sent him flying up and crashing back down.
Luz: Alright, let's finish it.
Amity formed her hand again into an abomination fist and Luz placed another fire glyph on it and Christa also aimed her fire hand at Gazort as he was getting up.
Luz: Fire!
Amity and Christa fired at Gazort's head lettting out a fiery explosion. Gazort let out a dying roar as it fell to the ground and explodes. Once he was down the three faced Mikela and Voffa.
Mikela: Ah! Gazort, you failure!
Voffa: Enough, now you deal with us.
Mikela shot a lightning ray and Voffa shot his eye beam at the three. Amity formed an abomination shield to protect them. Mikela kept firing but Christa shot a vine at the tip of his staff, blocking the magic and Luz got a wind glyph and let out a small tornado at the two separating them. Luz and Christa took on Mikela as he got the vine off his staff. He at first tried hitting them with his staff. Luz ducked and rolled from his attack and placed an ice glyph on the ground as an ice spike came at him, Mikela was hit and Christa waved her hand to let out a wave of water pushing him back.
Amity took on Voffa. He shot an eye beam at her which she blocked with her abomination goo. He did it again and she still blocked and used that goo to whip him across the body. He stepped back and Amity formed her arms into abomination fists, she ran at him and punched his body multiple times until he hit her across the head. The crown of spikes began to glow and fired a lightning beam at her. She quickly got away and she she raised her arm up and from the ground a large abomination hand rose from behind him and threw him at Mikela. Luz and Christa combined their wind magic and flew them around for a bit until landing.
Voffa: You damn kids!
Mikela: You really think that would beat us?
Luz: We just needed enough time to distract you.
Mikela: What?
The he stepped on something. He looked down and saw some abomination goo, all over in a pattern. It was in the form of big fire glyph. Amity looked at them with smirk ready to snap her fingers.
Mikela and Voffa: Wait, wait, wait!
Amity snapped her fingers as the abomination glyph glowed and let out a huge fiery explosion. Mikela and Voffa fell back to the ground all charred up and burnt.
Mikela: ( coughs) We are unstoppable.
Luz: Had enough?
Willow, Gus and Alex joins the group as Battra broke free and rejoined Mikela and Voffa.
Mikela: Never! We finish this right here, right now!
Shadam: Enough!
But then lighting strucked down at the ground and Shadam appeared.
Voffa: Shadam, what are you doing here?
Shadam: You've been taking too long and I'm here to check what's keeping you. And I see your struggling taking down a group of children.
Shadam looked over at the group and raised his arm with purple fire at them. The group was ready to fight him, but the he aimed at a frozen Kikimora. He fired and thawed her out.
Kikimora: Prepare to…uh what was I saying?
Shadam: Kikimora. I've come to check on you, to test your loyalty despite how you've been feeling these past couple days.
Kikimora: Do I really get a promotion? Did I pass?
Shadam: Indeed you have.
Kikimora: Yes, yes, yes! So? What's the promotion? Who's under my command? What do I get?
Shadam: You get…to live.
Kikimora: What?
Shadam: No there is more.
Shadam grabbed Kikimora by the throat and lifted her up strangling her as the others watched.
Shadam: You get to live and pray I don't tell the Emperor about your involvement in this stunt.
Shadam with his free arm formed his arm blade and brought it to her face.
Shadam: Let this be a lesson to those who leave the great Emperor Belos. There are no sides in this world. You either serve the Emperor and live or you don't and die. He gave us all purpose and in return we serve him to achieve his goals. I should kill you where you stand for working with the enemy.
The he heard the fireworks going off at the parade.
Shadam: However, that is not my decision and we promised no problems or fights tonight, so let's just let this go.
Shadam drops Kikimora as she gasped for air.
Shadam: Take her back.
Battra roared and flew up and swooped down to take Kikimora back to the parade.
Shadam: Let's go.
Mikela: What right now? But they're right there. The human, the girl…
Shadam: We agreed no trouble today and we must go back to keep everything under control and clean yourself up. Besides there will be plenty of opportunities to get them. Now move.
The two reluctantly warped away. Shadam turned to the group and removed his hood.
Shadam: I can't believe these three had so much trouble taking on you all. I must say I'm impressed you can even stand up to top members of the Legion of Five. Of course I remember our night at Latissa with the Golden Guard, but his punishment will be coming soon. Don't think you can win. The only reason you got away was because I underestimated your power, ( motioned to Christa) young witch. This time I'm letting you go because it's a special day, but the next time we meet, your power won't be enough to stop me. Even all of you combined, you wouldn't stand a chance against me. You there human, Luz was it. The Emperor looks forward seeing you again after your little encounter, but he really looks forward in meeting you Christa.
Christa let out a small gasp.
Shadam: He says the two of you have some catching up to do. Oh and Happy Coven Day.
Shadam's body flashes and disappears leaving the group alone.
Luz: Guys you saved me. Especially you Amity.
Luz hugged Amity.
Luz: And the way you combined your magic with glyphs. Your my super mega ultra awesome girlfriend. How can I make it up to you?
Amity: I'm just relieved you two are okay. But maybe you can tell me about this.
Amity gave her phone which still had the video as Luz gasped.
Amity: Don't worry. I haven't watched it. But… you did finish the portal door. You did see your mom. And it looks like it didn't go well. Am I right?
Willow: Luz, is this true?
Alex: Come on let's just come clean.
Willow: So you knew about this?
Luz: I told Alex not to say anything. I'm sorry it's just, I didn't know what to say nor did I know how to handle it. I thought if I helped Kikinora I would be setting an example. But boy did that fail.
Alex: I mean I told you this was a bad idea.( Willow stomps his foot) Ow.
Luz: Christa I'm sorry. You got hurt because of me.
Christa: Luz its not your fault. You did what you thought was right and was trying to help. Some people just don't see that.
Amity: Luz, you shouldn't have keep things from us. We're your friends and we're here to help and look out for you, especially me. I want to be there for you, but I can't help if you don't tell me what's going on. ( holding her hand) Please talk to me. Be honest with me.
Luz: ( gives small smile and sighs) Okay. So Alex and I finished the door. But it didn't look like the normal portal. I must have missed something.
We cut back to the parade with the whole group watching from the rooftop.
Christa: ( whisper ) Psss Alex, did you manage to ask out Willow?
Luz: ( whisper ) Oh yeah, did you?
Alex: ( whisper ) No I did not get to ask her out. I never got the chance.
Luz: ( whisper ) Oh, is this because of us?
Alex: ( sighs and whisper ) No, well not entirely but it was probably not the best time.
Lux : ( whisper ) Hey you'll get your chance soon.
Then they watched as the citizens gathered to podium where Kikimora, the Legion of Five and Dr. Cushing stood on. Kikimora stood up to the microphone and spoke.
Kikimora: Um thank you, Bonesborough, for joining us during this years Coven Day Parade. This year is extra special because the Emperor himself has an announcement to make.
A massive projection of Emperor Belos appears behind the podium.
Emperor Belos: Thank you, everyone.
Christa gasped the moment he saw him. She gazed at Belos thinking she's seen him before.
Emperor Belos: Together we are perfecting the Coven System as the Titan intended. The Day of Unity will be in exactly one month, when the moon blocks the sun and creating the Blood Moon eclipse. Once it commence, the worthy shall inherit a utopia free of wild magic.
Mike's raises his staff and shows everyone his tapestry of his vision of the Day of Unity.
King: Free of wild magic? How is he supposed to do that?
Emperor Belos: There is one more thing I'd like to share with you. I've always hidden my face, out of fear. But because of your support, I can finally show you my face.
Eda: Pffft, he's just trying to distract us from his crazy utopia talk! Too bad it won't work.
Belos removes his mask as the crowd gasped seeing his face. He was an elderly man with blue eyes, a bit wrinkly, long greyish blonde hair but most notably a long green scar across his face with holes. The crowd began to cheer for him.
Gus and Willow: ( gasps) Meh.
Alex: Well there goes my theory of him looking like a zombie.
Emperor Belos: Thank you Boiling Isles. Happy Coven Day!
The message ends as the crowd cheered for him.
Amity: Is Belos planning something? What did he mean by all that? Why does he look forward meeting you and Christa? What…Christa are you okay?
The Luz noticed Christa looking down like in some kind of trance.
Luz: Christa? Are you okay? Christa?
Christa didn't answer her as her visions kept flickering again. She was seeing a large city and then the mansion she dreamt of. But then it shifted to them on fire. She saw an army of demons, they were all silhouettes but had the same build. Tall and slender bipeds with V shaped crests and roars were like a distorted gurgling laugh ( stock Doragory roar), attacking and lead by the dark figure. Then she saw her mom and the dark figure placing his hand on her shoulder, but then his body began to reveal himself and it was Belos.
Luz: Christa! Christa
Luz was shaking her to snap out of it, finally she did.
Christa: ( gasps) Luz.
Luz: What's wrong?
Eda: Are you alright Chrissy? You look like you saw a ghost.
Christa: Guys I remember something.
Amity: What?
Christa: I recognize him. The one haunting my dreams it was him. Emperor Belos.
King: Whoa wait what?
Christa: I think… I think I've met him before.
Meanwhile. ( queue Naraku's theme)
We cut to Emperor Belos ( masked again) making his way to the room of the Entity. He opened the door and quickly closed it. He stepped onto the platform and kneeled as the Red eyed Entity appeared.
Emperor Belos: I did as you told Master. Those fools look forward to it.
Entity: Excellent Belos. They may cheer now but we'll see how those low lifes feel when they realize the fate I have planned for them.
Emperor Belos: But was it wise to say it will happen. We need all the coven heads to pull this off.
Entity: The bard will not hide forever. I can see it happening. They will be found soon and the Day of Unity will happen. I would have done this years ago, but the Blood Moon Eclipse only happens once every 600 years. I've longed for a new body, but soon my patience will pay off.
Emperor Belos: I look forward to it just as much as you Master. I assure you nothing will stop this. We are making sure that if this girl does possess the Eye, she will not interfere.
Entity: Not just her Belos, watch out for the human too.
Emperor Belos: Luz the human? I get the young witch but the human…
Entity: Have you forgotten of what she did? She nearly ruined my plan by destroying the portal and this is not the first time humans interfered! I would have won all those years ago had that one human not brought the Eye and ruined my plan! She could do it again and if she joins that girl, they could ruin everything I worked for!
Emperor Belos: I won't let that happen Master. I won't make the same mistake again. The next time I see either one of them, I won't let them escape.
Entity: I hope for your sake, you right this time.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry this one took longer. Got a bit of bad news, last weekend my laptop charger blew up and destroyed the internal hardware or mechanisms of my laptop, shutting it down and this happened right at the climax of this chapter. So I lost all my files and documents as well as this chapter so I had to start all over again on this. As of now I'm borrowing my sisters laptop to continue, but just saying this now, stories might be delayed for a while until I can get a new laptop. And because of this, a handful of scenes or dialogue was cut out to save time so this may not be a full package chapter. As I said, I got so annoyed righting this twice.
