Chapter 31:
Legend of the Unknown Isles
As Coven Day has come to an end and Christa recognizing Belos, this was a surprise to everyone, but it was late and everyone was exhausted so decided to continue this topic tomorrow. We cut the Owl House, Luz, Christa and King were sleeping soundly. We focus on Christa as the sun was rising and she felt someone rub her arm to wake up.
Christa: Hmmm, five more minutes Luz. Or King.
She felt the rub on her arm again.
Christa: I said not yet.
But she felt it again and it was harder, this time Christa sat up to look.
Christa: Come on. I'm tired from last night and…
But she stopped talking and gasped when she saw who it was. It was her sister and she was in the dream room again.
Christa's sister: Come on your not skipping out on this. You promised we'd go into town today and meet mom at the tea shop.
Christa: It's you!
Christa's sister: Of course it's me. Ugh, you're acting as weird as usual big sis. Now come on.
Christa's sister leaves the room.
Christa: Wait hold on!
Christa got up quickly and exited the room.
Christa: Wait what's your name? Hold up!
Christa ran through the hallway chasing after her. She made again to the main entrance of the house. She saw her sister standing at the door waiting for her. As she went down the stairs she looked back at the large portrait. This time it showed her, her mom and sister. There was only one spot missing, maybe it was for her dad she thought. But right now she was focusing on her sister.
Christa's sister: You ready?
Christa: Um, I guess.
They opened the front door as the sun lit on Christa's face. Once it dimmed down she saw she was now in a city. The door and mansion that she just exited was gone as she was now on the sidewalk of a large city.
Christa: What is this place?
Christa's sister: Come on let's go.
The two walked through the city. Christa noticed the inhabitants were all shadow like figures. If this was a dream, this might be because she doesn't know what the inhabitants look like. But look at how the city functioned. On the roads there were carriages and wagons without the use of an animal to pull but instead were operated on their own with a magic blue aura around it. One of them stopped opened up to let some people out. There were holo projections of signs and looked like it used the same technique as illusions. She saw some figures dressed in armor and welding swords and shields but they didn't look like normal weapons you'd see but had sort of a technological advanced look with the blades and shields having a glowing blue glow on them. Then she heard thunder and looked up and saw it was about to be boiling rain.
Christa: ( gasps) Boiling rain. Take cover!
But then she saw a clear dome rise from around the city and covering the whole place, keeping it safe from the boiling rain.
Christa: Whoa.
Christa's sister: We're here.
Chrsita looked and saw cafe. She could see her mom waiting for the two.
Christa: M-Mom?
Christa's mom: There you two are. What took you so long?
Christa's sister: Sorry mom, but big sis over slept again.
Christa's mom: ( to Christa) You weren't staying up late again were you?
Christa: Uh no I…just had trouble sleeping tonight.
Christa's mom: Well just sit down. It'll be just us three today, your father left early for work.
Christa: My…father?
It never really occurred to Christa for a while where her dad was or who he was. Before she could say anything else, she sat down and suddenly a holographic menu appeared. She looked at the selection of desserts, pastries and teas there were. She chose her tea and muffin and once she did the menu disappeared and in seconds the food she chose suddenly appeared in front of her. She just looked at it amazed. She took a bite of the muffin and it tasted good. But she just looked at her mom who was drinking her tea.
Christa's mom: Is something wrong dear?
Christa: No it's just. I just feel like I haven't seen you lately. I'm just glad I can see you here.
Christa's sister: There you go acting weird again.
Christa's mom: Now Nia stop that.
Christa's eyes widened when she heard her mom say her sister's name. Nia, so that was her name. Then what's her's? Then she saw her mom get up and walk towards her.
Christa's mom: I know we've been working a lot and we haven't had much time seeing our two girls. But with your Birthday coming up in a couple weeks, I promise we'll do something great together.
Christa smiled and hugged her mom tight.
Christa: I'd love that. Thank you mom.
Christa's mom: Of course. ( voice changes) Anything for you.
Christa's eyes widened when she heard her mom's voice change into a calm but sinister tone. She looked up and to her horror saw Belos standing where her mom was. She lets go and steps back. The world around her began to crack and shatter into pieces as the two faced each other in a black void.
Christa: You. What did you do to my mom?
Emperor Belos: I'm anxious in meeting you.
Christa: Answer me!
Christa shot a ray of ice at Belos which he easily swiped away. So then she used plant magic and wrapped Belos up in vines, but then he melted to get away. He appeared behind her as his hand enlarged into a black sludge hand that engulfed her whole body.
Emperor Belos: I look forward meeting you Christa. We have so much to catch up on.
Nia: Sis!
Christa looked over and saw her sister Nia running up to her.
Christa: Nia, get away.
Belos looked over at Nia.
Emperor Belos: Ah, another one. Alright then, you can join her.
Belos reached his free hand at Nia as his enlarged sludge hand engulfed her. Nia struggled and screamed as this time her whole body and head was buried.
Christa: Nia! Stop it, leave her alone!
Belos just looked at her and threw Christa. She was then thrown into the pod as it shut her it. She began banging onto the dome.
Christa: Stop it, let me out! Let me out! Mom! Nia!
Christa kept screaming as she saw her mom looking down at her with a sad look, Belos standing by her with his hand on her shoulder and his eyes glowing blue and the Red Eye Entity suddenly appearing behind the two.
Christa: Please, let me out! Stay away from mom! Let Nia go! Nia!
Luz and King: Christa! Christa!
Christa woke up from another nightmare breathing heavily as Luz and King sat around her. Her body was shaking and was tearing up as the two held onto her.
King: Hey it's okay. You're okay.
Luz: Was it another bad dream?
Christa: ( rubbing her face) Sorry guys. I don't know why I keep having this.
Luz: Did it have Belos in it?
Christa: Yes, now that I recognize him it got worse.
King: Hey you were also muttering some other name. Who's Nia?
Christa: ( gasps) Nia. Guys I remember my sisters name. Her name's Nia.
Luz: Really? That's good, you remember your sister better.
Christa: Yeah but what about my name or… what did Belos do to her? Did he really hurt her? Or what about my mom. I saw him with her?!
Luz: Calm down. I know, we discovered a lot tonight. We're all tired but we can talk about you tomorrow okay.
Christa: Yeah okay.
Luz: ( hugs her) Okay, go back to bed hermana.
The three tried to go back to sleep. Christa was still shaken up as King took notice.
King: Christa, would it make you feel better if I slept on your sleeping cocoon? With me I won't let anyone get to you.
Christa: ( nods) Sure King, I'd appreciate it.
King looked over at Luz who gave him a nod to go to her.
King got Francois and settled on Christa's sleeping bag. With someone beside her Christa felt a bit comfortable as the three went back to sleep.
The next day.
After everything that happened yesterday and Christa's revelation the group decided to go over more about her. Luz had a board with all sorts of notes and information she has on Christa. The only others there with them were Amity and Archimedes.
Luz: Okay so let's see. We found Christa in the suspension pod a little over a month ago. Wakes up with amnesia, but we learn she posses elemental wild magic as well as another kind that she uses when in critical moments. She has a series of dreams about her family and home which maybe the Unknown Isles. But now just last night, she remembers Belos and the name of her sister in her dream.
Eda: That I'm startled. How do you know Belos Chrissy?
Christa: I…I don't know how I know him.
Archimedes: But you said you recognized him.
Christa: I recognize him from my dreams, but I don't remember what connection we have. Only I've seen him attacking me, my mom and sister.
Lilith: Christa the fact that you met him before and he's onto you is greatly serious.
Amity: Do you really not remember what connection you guys have?
Hooty: Hmm, wait the two know each other, you saw him with your mom. I got it! He's your father!
Christa: He better not be!
Eda: That's pretty unlikely. If he was Chrissy's dad, don't you think he would have gone after her the moment he heard?
Hooty: Hm, fair point.
Luz: But Christa, if you've been seeing him in your dreams the whole time, wouldn't that mean the Belos is from the Unknown Isles?
Christa: Could he be?
Amity: Or at least he's been there before.
Eda: Belos originating from the Unknown Isles?
Archimedes: It could be possible. Remember, he mysteriously showed up one day. But regarding the Unknown Isles, what do you have on it so far.
Luz: Well not much.
Christa: You know what, I did get more glimpses of it last night in my dream. It's a bit hard to remember but I saw large buildings and magic used in an advanced way.
Luz: What do you mean in advanced way?
Christa: I mean I think it's used as a power source or something rather than witches using it like we do. It's a bit hard to explain.
Archimedes: Maybe we can jog your memory if we knew more. Wait what about the Echomouse, how far are you with it?
Luz: Last thing I got was the latest notes on the portal. But after the first attempt, I've been meaning to look back to see what I missed.
Amity: Maybe we should see what else it has.
Luz got the Echomouse. She held it on her hands as everyone looked over.
Luz: Okay little mouse, do you have anything else about Phillip? Anything special?
The Echomouse just tilted it's head at her.
Luz: Come on. ( taps it's nose) Boop.
Nothing happened.
Archimedes: Okay hold on.
Archimedes took out a biscuit.
Archimedes: Alright little guy. Have a biscuit.
Archimedes brought it closer to it, but the echo mouse bites his finger instead making him drop the the treat.
Archimedes: OW! Come on! Why?
Christa picks up the biscuit and offers it to the echo mouse.
Christa: Please little mouse. Help me out here.
The echomouse cooperates this time and takes the treat. As he eats some of it his eyes began to glow and started projecting a new entry of the journal.
Archimedes: How do you do that?
Luz placed him down as everyone got ready and watched as this one for some reason was much longer compared to other entries.
Phillip: ( narrating) I've come across a bump in the road. I thought I had everything I needed to make the portal, but I can never get it to take me to the human realm. After another failed attempt I had to seek help elsewhere. Unfortunately no one on the isles knew anything about making portals.
Then it showed a Phillip looking at the Titan skull.
Phillip: But I heard rumors that there exists vast knowledge within the Titan's skull. Though the inhabitants dared not to go in saying that it's sacred ground. But I needed answers.
It zooms in the on the Titan's right eye of the skull and shows Phillip standing in front of the puzzle door and trying to solve it.
Philip: I came across nothing, but in the right eye of the skull, I found a strange door with a puzzle on it. I managed to solve it and as the doors opened there was nothing in there, well not entirely. There was one spot with mount of dirt. I dug it up found some kind of white sparkling stone or jewel. Was this the knowledge I was looking for? I held it and as I rubbed the dirt off it, it began to glow and a white beam was shot out. I saw it go out through the eye of the skull, I looked saw where it was pointing. Off into the boiling sea, but more specifically, the way to Maguma's fog. Perhaps it was trying to take me somewhere. Somewhere where I can get help with the portal.
It then shifts to Phillip on a boat.
Phillip: Going into Maguma's fog was never a good idea. It was a mysterious fog and what makes it mysterious was that when you went in, it would somehow take you back to wherever you started. No mater how you approached it or what route you took, it always sent you back. But this artifact was pointing me into specific directions in it. I took note and…
But then the entry abruptly stopped. The projection was still going but there was nothing there.
Luz: Wait what's going?
King: Is he broken?
Amity: I think a page might be missing.
Luz: What?
Amity: Something like this would happen if a page was missing or torn off that its jump cutting to the next page.
Christa: So now what. We're missing what's…oh wait it's starting back.
The entry suddenly started back up.
Phillip:… so far so good, until suddenly it cleared up. At first I thought I was back to where I started, but then to my surprise I saw something unexpected. I was on my way back to the isles but this wasn't the Boiling Isles I was on, this was different. It was what I called the Unknown Isles.
The projection then showed another archipelago as their widened and let small gasps.
Phillip: This was another archipelago. It was incredible. I've seen islands but not another archipelago like I was on. I never saw another decayed Titan. Yes this was a Titan as well, but this was different. It resembled a dragon right out of fairly tale books back home as a child.
The projection showed the outline of the Titan of the Unknown Isles. It was laying down front as it's back was what became the land. It was skeletal dragon like Titan with long horns as land formed on it's back, hands, the wings and tail, as well as a cliff or edge on the top of the skull.
Phillip: I couldn't just watch, I had to land. I landed and made my way through the jungle. But I had no idea where I was going. But then I was encountered by a large demon.
The projection shows the silouhhette of Phillip encountering a tall and slender biped demon. It had wings on it's back, long fangs and a v shaped crest with an menacing look.
Phillip: I tried to stay calm and not make any sudden moves, but it didn't seem to work as it came at me. I ran as fast as I could. But I tripped and I thought it was over for me. But then I was saved.
The projection shows a few armored figures running up with one of them wielding a sword and shield and another a lance. The weapons on the projection glowed blue and Christa recognized it as the ancient or advanced weapons she saw in her dream. The last one carried a launcher which fired blue projectiles. It showed the three fighting the demon until it fled.
Phillip: I was saved by the isles inhabitants. They took their helmets to get a better look at me. I noticed something different about these witches. They had jewels implanted on their foreheads.
This part caught everyone's attention, especially to Christa that there exist witches with her features.
Philip: I was confused by they were just as astonished as I was. They questioned me if I was human, which I answered and they were surprised that there were more of my kind. There were more I thought? I asked if there were other humans here and they lead me to their city. Soon I made it.
The projection shows Phillip entering the large city. Everyone still looked amazed as Christa recognized it as what she saw in her dreams.
Phillip: I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought what I witnessed in the Boiling Isles was incredible, but this was a whole new level. It was an advanced civilization. The inhabitants were either witches with gems on their foreheads or these demons with skulls on their heads.
The projection showed silouhettes of the inhabitants, with some being the witches and the other the demons he described and their appearance looked just like King. This part caught his attention, now he knew there were more of him.
Magic wasn't just something they wielded, but it was also an energy resource. I saw how it powered their vehicles, their weapons, homes but more amazingly these war machines.
Then they saw a projection of these large tripod robots. They had three long legs with claws at the feet, the body was pentagonal pyramid shape with horns on top and one glowing blue eye in the center.
Phillip: But it was about to rain, boiling rain. But the people didn't react as suddenly a large clear dome appeared around the city, shielding them all. This place was a technologically advanced utopia. I had questions but that had to wait. At the center of the city was this temple, which I believed was their church. It was there to my surpsise, I finally found my brother.
The projection showed Phillip smiling seeing his brother as the two embrace.
Phillip: It's been years but we finally found each other. He tells me that when we got here he somehow ended up here and introduced me the ones who found him and he's been with.
The projection shows silhouettes of two witches and one demon. One of them appeared to be a tall and elderly man with a long beard and hair and a cane or staff and the other was a women about the height of Phillip and his brother with long hair. And last was demon taller than the two combined, who wore armor and welded a sword, but this one demon resembled a lot like King's dad.
Phillip: He introduced me to the the city's head witch and leader, the Quan Ata Lachu and his daughter, the priestess and the city's commander. This city was called Kameria and the inhabitants were known as Kamerian Witches due to their emeralds on their foreheads. Though they were surprised how I found it considering this was a hidden isles that no one from the other side of the world knew they existed. I showed them the artifact that I found in the eye of the Titan, when I showed it to them it was still pointing somewhere into the horizon. Me, my brother, the priestess and a few officers followed to ensure we'd make it unharmed if we were to encounter the Isle's other inhabitants, the Doragoris clan. They told me while their race wasn't as big as theirs they were however very durable and possessed tremendous strength and aggression and the one I encountered earlier before my rescue was one of them. Eventually we made it to where the artifact was leading us, it was into the eye of the isle's Titan skull. As we entered we found another puzzle door like the one I saw. After spending sometime to solve it, we soon found another artifact that looked like mine.
The projection showed them discovering another artifact like the one Phillip saw except it was glowing red and then it shifted back to the group now in a lab.
Phillip: We took these artifacts which we now called the Eyes of the Titans back to their labs and I was astonished how technologically advanced these witches were. They mixed magic with technology to create a new world. I was given back mine while the scientists examined on theirs. I also made mention about my quest to making a portal back to the human realm so me and my brother could get home. The Quan Ata Lachu agreed to help since he seemed to be on good terms with my brother and had another team to work on it. As I waited I spent the days catching up with my brother and learned what's been happening with him. He was taught the ways the witches lived here, he learned from them and helped them with their defenses and how all this was made from these magic ores that were mined int he veins and Titan blood from here. I told him of my adventures and how I searched all over for him. But I'm glad my work has finally payed off.
The projection shows the scientists in the lab with their Eye.
Then a week later, the scientists who experimented on the Eye came to the conclusion that these things possess the powers of the Titan and it could be used to revolutionize their civilization. But as they continued experimentation on it, it got bad. They took it too far when they tried to experiment it to use for weapons and harnessed it power. But this somehow to cause it to erupt.
Suddenly the the projection began to shake as it bursted into a red light.
Phillip: We gazed up as the lab crumbled and bursting from the building was a monster.
The projection showed Phillip, his brother and the inhabitants looking up at the giant monster rising from the building. The head was a cross between a pteranodon and a skeletal dragon with reddish orange eyes, long horns, long neck, a huge wing span and spear like tail. But most notable a large third red eye in the abdomen. It rose up and let out a roar ( stock 2019 Ghidorah roar). The others somewhat recognized, Luz went through the photos of King's tower and saw it was the same monster she saw on the mural that fought King's dad. Christa looked at the eye in the abdomen and she thought it looked vaguely familiar.
Phillip: This monster rose up. We gazed up and saw the evil in it's face. It looked down at us and it even spoke, claiming to be their God and has returned the claim the work as his. He was the Titan of the Unknown Isles. His name…was Keizer.
The projection showed Keizer attacking Kameria and the inhabitants. He destroyed buildings and shot a red beam from his mouth. The soldiers and war machines did their best to fight, but was no match for his power.
Phillip: Kameria's weapons were no match for the Titan's strength and power. My brother and I ran, until some building debris fell onto us. It was coming down at him, but I saved him but my leg was crushed in the process. Before he could save me, I saw my bag glowing. The Eye I had was glowing. Perhaps, it was something to stop him. I couldn't do anything, but my brother was fine and he took the Eye in hopes to use it against Keizer. But he couldn't use it. Keizer looked down at him and was about to kill him with his attack, until suddenly…
The projection showed Keizer breathing down at Phillip's brother, but he was unharmed as the priestess shielded him with her magic. Keizer was about to breathe at them again, but then roared in pain when somebody cut his right horn off. Landing next to the two was demon commander.
Phillip: Until they came. But she was no match for him either. That was until the Eye glowed again. Shetouched it and I saw the power she possessed.
The projection showed her fighting Keizer, as she blocked his attacks and shooting a magic beam at him a couple times at him, hurting him. She was charging one powerful blast, but Keizer was about to attack first, but the demon commander attacked first and jumped in the air and cut his other horn off as this distracted him. And finally, with one more blast from the priestess, Keizer was destroyed as his body blew up.
Phillip: With the power of the Eye she wielded, Keizer was destroyed. As the people celebrated their victory, the Eye was placed into their temple and a huge pedestal was made for it. They Eye would remain untouched as it was too powerful and sacred to use except for those worthy of weilding it, like the priestess. We continued on with working on the new portal and when I looked at what it would look like, looks more clean.
The projection showed the portal door the group once had as Luz made a small gasp. But then the projection shifted to Phillip looking at his brother, holding hands with the priestess.
Phillip: We would be going home soon. But seeing how my brother has been with these witches and the priestess, I hope he would come to his senses soon and return with me. To the world where we belong.
With that the journal projection finally ends.
King: Wow, that was way more in depth than I expected. But you guys saw that right. There is more of me!
Luz: I don't believe it, we got a glimpse of the Unknown Isles and the Kamerian witches, King's people, they were the ones who made the portal.
Amity: Their culture is way different than what we have here. It's amazing.
Archimedes: You guys saw right, some of the things you saw at the island and pictures here, it matches what they have. The symbol, the murals and this monster. So they revived a Titan.
Lilith: That part I can't believe, but they do need some self control on their experiments.
King: Wait so looking back here, the commander looked a lot like my dad. So, does that mean he's a commander.
Luz: Maybe, but remember this was 600 years ago. Maybe it's your ancestor.
King: I guess, but still if that demon is related to me, that means I have a cool family tree!
Eda: But I still don't get how the portal got here where I found it.
Lilith: That I'm just as clueless on.
Christa: Guys, the way he described it, it's just what I saw.
Luz: So you do remember your home.
Christa: Yes, I think I do.
Amity: That's great that you do.
Archimedes: Still, I remember reading about this a lot but didn't think it….I just can't believe it really does exist.
Eda: ( in her mind) Wait a minute also, Raine said that they were looking for the Eye to stop what Belos was doing. Is the Eye they were referring to.
Amity: So not only is that your home, but Luz they know how to make the portal.
Luz: Yeah they do. Now I really want to find it. They're the only ones who can help me make a portal and we can meet Christa and King's parents. We have to get there and…argh! We still don't know how to get there.
King: He said the Eye took him there.
Eda: But we don't have this Eye.
Lilith: So, I guess we're stuck again.
Luz: Maybe not. Scourge!
Eda: What?
Luz: The Terrible Trio! Scourge had Christa's pod that he stole. He had to have been there.
Lilith: That's right he did.
Eda: So that simple minded thief been there huh. So then we find Scourge, we get him to talk.
Lilith: I don't think he'll be willing to talk.
Eda: Oh I know, that's why we'll make him
Luz: If anyone's been there, it's him. Alright then. We're going to get Scourge and we'll have him tell us. Christa, we might be a step closer to finding your home.
Christa: I hope so.
Eda: Hey it must be exciting for you Chrissy. You're finally remembering your home and family.
Christa: I am and I can't wait to introduce you all to them. So you know, maybe we can still see each other.
Luz: Hey of course we will.
King: I'm never letting you go! You hear me! And if you do, I'll do my cute sad look.
Hooty: Don't worry CC. They'll definitely like us when they meet me. The one and only Hooty who's been looking out for you.
Amity: And there's still more I want to do with you. Besides I don't want to lose a member of our Azura book club. Especially since it's so small.
Luz: It's sad really.
Lilith: I really enjoy having you here. You're so polite, sweet and probably the second person I love to talk to next to Hootsifer. I want to make sure you get home safe.
Archimedes: As do I and of course I'd love to see what your home is like.
Eda: ( ruffles her hair) Hey, you're a weirdo like us Chrissy. And we weirdos have to stick together.
Christa: ( giggles) I'm not a weirdo.
Eda: You have been the moment you moved in with us.
Christa smiled, happy to be around such great friends. Even when she moved back home, she wouldn't want to lose contact of them. She looked back at the echo mouse smiling at him, but then frowned for a moment when remembering the Titan Keizer. She doesn't remember it at all, but still had the feeling she's seen him before.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry this took a while. I had some writers block, been going back and forth on this, don't have a laptop and after watching the latest episode had to make some changes. But I'm glad I finally got to this chapter. Sorry no retelling Elsewhere and Elsewhen because of the different plot and I don't think it would have worked here because of the different setting. But I do have plans to retell the B plot for that episode and this was made to take it's place. I will say this now I also don't intend on retelling " Reaching Out" or " Them's the Breaks Kid" ( that one because Eda and Raine aren't a couple here) because I already addressed about Luz's dad and I don't think Amity has anything to prove anymore, but if anyone want's some elements of that episode with the brawl to be retold here, let me know if you have ideas. The same goes for the character Terra Snapdragon. I apologize for not using her in my last chapter, but I didn't see how to use her because the Legion of Five practically fill out roles the coven heads did in previous episodes. But if you want me to use her and have any ideas how, comment or pm me. Also if you're about to say King's race is not like in the show, just keep reading the story.
