Chapter 38: The Island of Monsters Part 1

A long time ago.
We see a teenage Seraphina, alone in the wilderness, with her palisman Kilala. About a couple months ago she made a new friend, Lilith Clawthorne. Since then she started hanging out with her along with her sister Eda and her friends as well. Right now she was practicing her beast keeping magic, but then she heard gun fire as well as screeches from a demon which startled her.
Teen Seraphina: Something's wrong. Very wrong.
Kilala responds with a small roar.
Teen Seraphina: Come on let's check this out.
Seraphina went to go investigate. But when she made it to her destination she was witnessed a terrible site as she gasped. She found a gigantic beast demon, dead. It looked like a lake salamander demon. It's body was white with black spots and lines, but it was caught in a net with slash marks and gun shot wounds. But the most notablething was that the horns on it's head were missing, it looked like they were cut off. Seraphina look horrified, but then she saw on the ground were a few babies of that demon, also dead with the horns cut off. She covered her mouth and looked away. This was poachers work she thought. Then she heard another screeching sound. Not wasting time she hurried. The two hid behind a bush and saw a hunter holding a surviving baby by the tail as it screeched and squirmed to be free. Seraphina motioned her hand to Kilala to wait here while she went to get a closer look. She hid behind a tree which was a few feet away from the hunter, who we all saw his body but not his head.
?: Stop your squirming. Thought you could get away from me didn't you. Now then.
He pulls out a machete as she gasps.
?: I will make this quick for you.
Seraphina acted quickly. She formed a spell circle and a small swarm of fire bees surrounded him, making him drop the baby demon.
?: What the? What is this? ARGH!
As the baby demon ran off, Seraphina tried to run after it. But the hunter took out a spray can of fire bee repelant and sprayed around scaring them off. He saw Seraphina and grabbed her arm.
?: Not so fast!
Teen Seraphina: Ah! Let go of me!
?: You! You have any idea what you just did?
Teen Seraphina: Do you? You just killed this poor creature's mother and siblings. Their horns are vital to them.
?: They're animals, they provide parts for us to sell to make big money. Now you're going coming with me to find that demon and take it's horns.
Teen Seraphina: Never. Kilala!
Her palisman Kilala jumped out of the bush and ran at the hunter, roaring and clawing his face and making him let Seraphina go.
?: ARGH! My eye! Damn it!
Teen Seraphina: Thanks Kilala, let's go!
Seraphina and Kilala ran off as the hunter covered his face. She quickly tried finding the little demon. She heard something russle through the bushes and saw it crawl into a rock crevice. She kneeled down and saw the creature curled up scared.
Teen Seraphina: Wait it's okay come out.
The demon just screeched curling up to the wall, scared to come out. She formed a spell circle as her eyes glowed trying to communicate with it.
Teen Seraphina: Don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you. Please come out.
The small demon still didn't move. It seemed he was too scared to trust anyone. Seraphina took out some snacks from her pocket and showed it to the demon. She took a bit to show it was safe. The small demon slowly came out.
Teen Seraphina: That's it come on out. That's it.
The small demon finally came to her as she handed him the food. She placed her hand on his head and petted him.
Teen Seraphina: Oh you poor thing. You're scared half to death.
?: I know you're around here! Where are you little witch!?
Teen Seraphina: He's coming. Come on.
Seraphina picked up the demon as he held onto her.
Teen Seraphina: Let's go Kilala!
Kilala jumped up as she shrunk and reverted to her staff form. She got on and flew off, soon made it home.
Teen Seraphina: Finally lost him.
She felt the demon nuzzle up to her.
Teen Seraphina: Oh you poor thing. That monster took your mother away.
Seraphina held the demon close to her.
Teen Seraphina: I know you're scared and I'm so sorry I wasn't there in time. But don't worry, I'm going to take care of you...you... I need a name for you. Hmmm, how about Armin?
The demon now named Armin screeched and nuzzled her as Seraphina hugged him.
Years later
We cut to Seraphina with Lilith at the former's house. The two of them were together in the bath tub. Lilith nuzzled on Seraphina above her breasts as Seraphina held her girlfriend with one hand holding her left breast and the other hand on her stomach. She was rubbing her stomach as Lilith smiled held her hand. Seraphina kissed Lilith on the head, she looked up to her and turned around and kissed her a few times on the face.
Seraphina: ( giggles) Easy tiger. Someone's eager.
Lilith: We haven't seen each other in years. There's so much lost love to make up.
Seraphina: Hmph, there is.
The two kissed and looked each other in the eye.
Lilith: Besides you called me if I wanted to come spend some " quality time" with you.
Seraphina: Yeah I did. But also wanted to ask you something.
Lilith: Yes?
Seraphina: Do you remember Armin?
Lilith: Armin...wait. Armin as in your pet lake salamander demon? Yes but didn't you have to let him go?
Seraphina: Yes but I still see him once in a while, to make sure he's okay. I'm visiting the Island of Monsters tomorrow and wanted to ask if you and your nieces and nephew would want to come with me.
Lilith: Really, but isn't that dangerous?
Seraphina: For most witches yes, but for ones skilled with beast keeping it's perfectly safe, most of them will leave you alone. It's an exciting trip, trust me.
Lilith: Can Hootsifer come as well.
Seraphina: Of course he can.
Lilith: Okay, we'll come. Anything with you is an automatic yes.
Seraphina: Great, now hold still. I still need to wash your hair.
Seraphina got some shampoo and scrubbed Lilith's hair. She poured some of the water onto her head as she continued scrubbing, soon washing the soap off her hair as she went down to her shoulders and massaged and kissed her shoulders. Lilith continued to smile as she took her hands and kissed them as Seraphina pulled Lilith closer to her and kissed her cheek making her laugh.
Meanwhile at Emperor Belos's castle.
We cut to Selene with Terrible Trio member Karasniper walking into the Five's lounge and saw Mikela and Voffa . She stormed in making Mikela jump, messing up his next painting.
Mikela: AAH! Selene did you not see the do not disturb sign on the door. You made me mess up my new masterpiece for the Emperor.
Selene: Oh stop being such a drama queen Mikela. I'm just getting some things before I go.
Voffa: Where are you heading?
Selene: I'm leaving for the Island of Monsters tomorrow. I need ingredients for my brews that I can only find there.
Voffa: You do know you can just buy them here at the night market.
Selene: Do you have any idea how expensive they mark them now a days. Why bother when I can get them for free.
Mikela: But you're going to an island home to vicious beast demons.
Selene: What do you think Karasniper is here for?
Karasniper: I am an expert hunter. Besides, I could have some fun out there.
Mikela: At least take a choju with you. Battra!
Battra flew down from the ceiling stood next to him, roaring and bowing.
Selene: I'll pass. That thing can't even take down a few kids. Why would you make a choju that can't even turn his neck side to side?
Mikela: How else will he use his attack? The split spinal cord in his body is what allows him to create strong sound waves. Okay so he may have had some difficulties in the past but I assure you he's our best choju.
Karasniper: The beasts there are massive in size, he's the size of a fairy to them.
Selene: I think I can fix that. Come along Battra.
Selene leaves as Karasniper and Battra follow her outside of the castle.
Karasniper: You're really bringing this thing with us?
Selene: Not to worry Karasniper, I have a solution.
Selene took a red potion strapped around her waist.
Selene: Open up Battra. This will make you big and strong.
Battra nodded and opened his mouth. Selene poured the potion into his mouth and drank it.
Selene: Stand back.
Selene and Karasniper stepped back as Battra's body began to shake, but then he started to grown. Selene smirked as Karasniper looked surprised as they watched Battra keep on growing and letting out a roar.
The next day.
Seraphina made it to the Owl House as the others waited for her.
Seraphina: Morning everyone. Ready to go?
Christa: Hi Seraphina, we're ready.
Luz: ( holding up basket) Christa and I prepared lunches for a picnic. This is so exciting. I'm always ready for anything with you and Cool Aunt Lilith.
King: I've always read about many beasts, but I don't see too many of them. I finally get to see them up close.
Hooty: I'm just happy to spend the day with favorite people with my favorite Lulu and my new bestie Siri! Hoot!
Lilith: Eda you sure you don't want to come?
Seraphina: You're welcome to come too.
Eda: Yeah I'm good, I'm fine. I'm too tired. You kids have fun, stay safe and behave. Sera you take care of Lily. And Lily...
Eda pulls Lilith to her face.
Eda: Anything happens to those kids, consider yourself kicked out.
Lilith: ( looking horrified) W-What?
Eda: Pffft, haha! Kidding! I'm just kidding. Take a joke.
Lilith: That's not funny Edalyn.
Eda: Come on, I love messing with you. Hahaha!
Seraphina: Don't worry Eda, as long as they're with me, they're safe on this trip.
Eda: Oh I know. But you guys have fun.
Luz: Okay well, see you Eda.
Everyone leaves, Lilith and Seraphina rode on their own staffs with Hooty riding with the former and Christa riding with Luz and King on her staff. Once they were gone Eda took out a raven phone and called Archimedes.
Eda: Archy, we got the house for ourselves.
Meanwhile.
We then cut the Island of Monsters. Home of kaiju size beast demons. But somewhere in the island we see three demons fighting each other.
First was Gagi, he was a big and bulky demon. He stood in a bipedal stance with yellowish green lumpy skin. He had claws on his hands, toes and elbow as well as a stegosaurs like tail. But despite his bulky body, his head was pretty small. The head looked like the skull of a bear, but with green pupils in the eye holes and sabretooth fangs. The monster cracked his knuckles as he let out a roar ( stock Ultraman Red King roar), facing two other demons.
The other was Drako. He too also stood in a bipedal stance, but was a slightly shorter than Gagi. His skin was charcoal grey but with white cracks in it. He had dragonfly like wings, hooks for hands and a tail. The head had a crown of thorns on it, had white eyes with black pupils and had a scavenger like bird beak. It waved it's hook claws around roaring ( stock Dorako roar).
The third was Tengu Zarus. He was quadrapedal demon. The body looked like that of an armidillo, but with spikes all over. It had a long tail with spikes on it. The head looked like a crocodile with bull horns on the head and on the snout. It roared ( stock Anguirus roar) at Gagi as it joined Drako.
The three began to fight. Drako ran up at Gagi, roaring and raised his hooks about to stab Gagi, he caught his arms and threw him aside. Tengu Zarus got onto his hind legs and got onto Gagi roaring at him. Sinking his claws into his arms as Gagi kicked him down to his back getting him off. Gagi then roared in pain as he felt a slash across his back, he turned and saw it was caused by Drako. He slashed across Gagi's chest as blood dripped across his wound. Tengu Zarus got back up and pit down onto Gagi's shoulder. Gagi roared as he punched Tengu Zarus's head multiple times. Tengu Zarus wouldn't budge as he bit down hard, now blood was dripping from the shoulder. Drako roared and tried to slash again.
Gagi kicked Drako away and raised his right elbow up. With the claw on his elbow, Gagi stabbed Tengu Zarus in the chest. He roared and let go of Gagi. He dropped on the floor as blood dripped from his wound. Gagi kicked Tengu Zarus on his back. He kicked him again and fell onto his front, but this time Gagi held his head and began to opening his mouth. Tengu Zarus struggled to break free, but it was no use. Gagi opened his mouth wider, and wider as bones were starting to crack and finally broke the jaw. He let go of Tengu Zarus as his head fell limp, dead with a loose jaw and blood coming from the mouth.
Drako roared about to stab Gagi from behind, but he hit him across the face with his spiked tail, cutting it and even into his eye. Drako held his eye as it showed his own eyeball on Gagi's spiked tail. Drako was roaring in pain as he tried to fly up, but when he did Gagi grabbed his tail and threw him back on the ground. He got onto his back and began ripping off his wings. Drako couldn't get up as Gagi then picked up a large boulder and decided to finish him. He began hitting his head with the boulder, multiple times. He finally stopped and looked down at Drako's dead body, blood was all over the floor, with his skull crack open.
Gagi let out a victorious roar, proving to be the strongest once more. But then he stopped when he saw someting in the sky. It was the group flying into the island with their staffs. Gagi roared as he followed them.
Meanwhile.
The group finally made it the Island of Monsters with Luz, Christa and King looking in awe.
Seraphina: Amazing isn't it?
Luz: Seraphina this is so cool! I mean I've seen lots of monster movies back home and they don't compare to this. Well mainly newer ones that replaced suitmation with CGI.
Christa: They're massive. Wait, do you guys have to worry about attacks if they ever came to the Boiling Isles.
Seraphina: Not really. These beasts demons coming into the isles are rare and they tend not to go anywhere near the isles or near witches. But they don't like most of them entering their territory.
King: Guys this is so cool. I mean I've read most of these demons but I never actually seen them in person.
Seraphina: Can you name some of them?
King: Uh, let's see, oh there's Aboras.
King pointed and saw a large serpent dragon demon, Aboras. It had blackish blue scales with spikes coming from the head to tail, which looked like a fan. Had a black mane, horns on the head and long whiskers. He roared ( stock Manda roar) gazing up at the group as he came out of his cave.
King: He's my favorite. His scales are fire proof, is an excellent swimmer and his constriction is so strong he can shatter a boulder.
Seraphina: That's right, how about that one?
Seraphina pointed down another beast. It was a quadrapedal dinosaur like beast. The back had a white fin like dimetroden, the body was blue with red going from the neck to tail, the head had long horns and a small one on the snout claws on the feet. It roared ( stock showa Baragon roar) as it drank water from the river.
King: No way, it's Kingasaurus. These things are known for their magical horns. They not only use them for fighting but can create it's own shield with it.
Seraphina: Okay one more. How about that one up there?
Seraphina pointed at another beast. It had the body of a wyvern but the head looked more like a pteranodon. It roared ( stock Rodan roar) at anyone that came near it's nest.
King: That's Agiras. Fastest flyer, can create destructive shockwaves when flying over buildings and beak is sharper than any blade.
Christa: Wow King you're a real expert.
King: Well back then when I thought I was the King of Demons I had to know every kind if I wanted rule them all. I can teach you a thing or two. I did it for Luz.
Luz: He told me so much about them.
Seraphina: This is it. Everyone land at that cliff.
They followed Seraphina and landed on a cliff. From beyond it they saw a large lake.
Lilith: Is this it?
Seraphina: This is his home.
Luz: It's a big lake, but where is he?
Christa: Yeah I don't see him.
Seraphina puts her hands near her mouth and makes a strange whistling noise. It was an echoey but soothing sound. Moments after she made the call the water began to rise and out came Armin. He was an amphibian like creature that stood in a bipedal stance with a yellowish white body with black lines and spots all over his body. He had fish like fins on the side of his head where his ears are supposed to be as well as on the back of his head, coming all the way down to his tail. He had claws on his webbed hands and feet. He lacked eyes but still had a newt/lizard like snout with teeth and had horns on his head that kept spinning in a slow motion. His roar was a screeching sound ( stock Eleking/Kamacarus roar) as he approached the group. Seraphina looked excited while the others were surprised but also slightly nervous.
Seraphina: Armin.
Armin screeched as he knelt down a little as his face was in front of everyone.
Seraphina: ( hugging him) Oh Armin. How's my little demon doing?
Armin nuzzled her. Seraphina looked into her bag and got out a treat for him. He opened his mouth as she threw it in. He swallowed it nuzzled her again.
Seraphina: Everyone come, meet my baby.
Luz: You raised that thing?
Seraphina: Mainly when he was a baby, about the size of you King. But my moms said I couldn't keep him because he would grow too big. I searched high and low for a safe place for him. But that didn't stop me from visiting him regularly and making sure he's comfortable.
Armin looked over at Lilith. She had a nervous smile on her face when he started sniffing her. But he gave her a gentle nudge with his snout and nuzzled her.
Seraphina: He remembers you Lilith.
Lilith: ( petting him) I missed you too Armin. You've grown so big.
Seraphina: Everyone come. Don't be shy.
The others slowly approached her. Seraphina took Christa's arm and slowly placed on Armin's snout.
Christa: Whoa wait...
Seraphina: Shh, shh it's okay. It's okay he's gentle.
Seraphina placed Christa's hand on him as gave her a gentle nudge. Christa giggled and continued petting him.
Seraphina: Luz, King don't be scared. Come.
Luz and King also approached Armin as Seraphina placed their hands on him and started petting him.
Seraphina: He likes you three as well.
Luz: Aw, he's like a giant puppy.
King: I never been this close to a Lake Salamander demon. They're the best swimmers next to the Selkidomus.
Seraphina: Yes, but while the Selkidomus needs air after a long period of time, Armin's kind can breathe air and water. And his body emits electricity to fight off threats.
Christa: Hey where are his eyes? How can he see?
Seraphina: Lake Salamander demons are blind, but you see the horns on his head spinning? It emits a echolocation like senses for him to sense objects or living things. But they also act as his vital organs. If both were broken off, he would die. I saved him from a hunter who killed his mother and siblings just for the horns.
Christa: Oh, that's awful.
Seraphina: He was scared, but he's doing okay. I was there to make sure of that he grew up to be a healthy and strong demon.
Then they heard a roar and saw from behind Armin, Gagi emerging from the trees roaring.
Seraphina: Gagi!
Lilith: Gagi?
Gagi cracked his knuckles and roared coming at them. Armin turned and screeched at him and charged at him.
Seraphina: Armin wait!
Luz: What's that one?
King: Gagi is said to be one of the strongest but also the most hostile demons.
Christa: But can't you talk to him? Tell him to go away?
Seraphina: I can't. Only few including Head Witch Eberwolf can tame him. Last time I tried to tame him, I nearly got crushed to death. Armin!
Armin charged at Gagi pushing him a bit. Gagi roared as he grabbed hold of Armin and punched him to the ground. Armin retaliated by whipping him across the face with his tail. He got back up and reached his arms at Gagi, shooting an electric wave at him. Gagi got hit and spat a green fire ball at Armin. He ducked down and shot another electric wave at him, but this time Gagi blocked the attack and knocked him down with his tail. Armin fell to the ground as Gagi kept kicking him whenever he tried to get up. But Gagi grabbed hold of him and threw him aside. With Armin on the ground, Gagi got onto his back and grabbed hold of his horns. He began crushing and pulling on the horns as Armin screeched in pain.
Seraphina: Armin!
Luz: We can't stand here we have to help him.
King: Us against him. Luz that thing will chew us to bits.
Christa: Well I can't let him do that!
Christa yelled as she shot a fire ball at the back of Gagi's head. Gagi roared as he let go of Armin and started rubbing the back of his head. He turned around to see who did that. He couldn't tell at first but then he saw the group on the cliff. His eyes squinted in anger and roared.
Hooty: I think you made him mad CC.
Christa: Let him be.
Seraphina: Everyone on your staff and into the air!
They quickly flew up as Gagi was about to spit another green fire ball at them. But then something wrapped around his body. He was wrapped by Armin's tail. He tried breaking free but couldn't. Armin began to form electricity around his body. It went up to his tail as he began to electricute Gagi. Gagi roared in pain from the electricity. He kept struggling to break free, but was weakening. Armin lets him go as he barely had the strength to get up. He let out a weak roar as he fled the area.
Seraphina: ( sighs in relief) That scared him off. We can land, we're safe now.
They landed back on the cliff as Armin approached them.
Luz: Okay this was really like watching a monster movie back home. But this was somehow way more terrifying than exciting. Great fight Armin.
Christa: You did it!
Armin screeched as he nuzzled up Christa.
Seraphina: He's saying thank you for helping.
Luz: Looks like you made new friend Christa.
Christa: ( petting him) Aw, you're welcome.
King: Hey I don't know if this is a good time to bring this up, but can we eat now. It was a long trip and I'm hu-u-u-ungry.
Luz: Well, it really was and I am kinda too.
Christa: So am I. Let's have our picnic here. Wait where's the clothe to set on the floor.
Hooty: Oh I got it CC.
Hooty began coughing to try and regurgitate the clothe.
Luz: Uh it's okay Hooty! I got a spare.
Meanwhile
We cut to Selene with Karasniper flying to the island as well and were riding on a kaiju sized Battra.
Selene: We're almost there.
Karasniper: Good, I'm excited because I could use a good sport here.
Selene: We came here for my ingredients.
Karansiper: Can't you let me hunt down one or two beasts. Some body parts of them make great money.
Selene: Hmm, see your point. But why not let Battra do it since he's big now.
Karansniper: And take the fun out of it. Oh no. I prefer it do it the old fashioned way. The real way.
Battra roared as they were closing in on the island.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Finally got to this arc since I really wanted to make this as a nod to the Godzilla and Ultraman series. But sorry if you were uncomfortable with the mature content of this chapter. I don't plan to do this often but I wanted to add my tone and style to it.
