Author notes: This is inspired by the fanfic, Huntik: Treasure of the Gods. Yes, I know that I made Lok a bit OP in this fanfic.

Quick question if anyone has any ideas for what a powerbonded Gawain would look like, or a Titan for Sophie to be the equivalent of Lok's Lindorm please leave a review. Thank you.

"Someone Talking"

'Someone Thinking'

After the successful mission to retrieve the amulet of the Litho-Titan Metagolem. The team was currently chilling out in Dante's house. Sophie was reading a book, Dante working on his Holotome, and Zhalia was in a different room of the house doing who knows what. While Lok was currently working on a puzzle trying unsuccessfully to keep the boredom of waiting for their next mission to arrive.

"I wish the Foundation would magically be able to figure out and crack the code on Jodis Lore's notes that we found during the last mission. I'm getting restless just waiting here." Lok irritably mumbled to himself, the puzzle he was working on not being much use to keep his mind away.

"Patience Lok." Dante told him, while still focused on his Holotome. "You know they're not exactly going to be able to decode his notes in only a couple of days, they're good but not that good."

Lok could only sigh in response, before turning to stare out the nearby window. Suddenly a voice came out of nowhere and began talking to them.

"Whenever that young man sure sounds just like you when you were his age, doesn't he Dante. Always wanting to go off on some sort of adventure, while hating to be stuck. Anyways I do hope that I am not interrupting any personal matter?" The Tv screen showed a blonde haired, middle age man with kind blue eyes. Lok remembered him as Guggenheim a high ranking member of the Huntik Foundation, as well as the man who had given Lok the mission to retrieve Lindorm. Suddenly Zhalia walked in when Guggenheim began talking and leaned against one of the rooms pillars, and while Sophie seemed to want to say something about the other women she bit her tongue while in the presence of Guggenheim.

"Looks like there's a new faces with you! Dante, would you be so kind as to introduce us?" Guggenheim said.

"Guggenheim!" Dante quickly greeted the man with fondness for the man clear in his voice. He then proceeded to put his arms around Sophie and Loki's shoulders. "This is Sophie Casterwill, and judging from what you said you seem to be familiar with our other newest addition Lok Lambert. Sophie and Lok, the man in front of you is is Guggenheim, a high ranking member of the Huntik Foundation, as well as a good friend of mine."

"A Casterwill, you say? Well then it is certainly a pleasure to have your acquaintance. Wonderful to meet you, just wonderful! Lok and I know each other for you see I was the one to assign him the mission to retrieve the sword St. George, which allowed him to obtain his Lindorm amulet. Now, is that Zhalia Moon I see standing behind you! I haven't seen you since our last mission- you seem to be doing well for yourself!" Zhalia nodded in response as well as in greeting, with what seemed like a smile on her face.

Guggenheim continued, putting on a rather serious look on his face. "Now, Dante, not to be rude but I need to ask you to do me a favour." Dante merely slanted his head slightly, appearing to consider Guggenheim's words.

"Well, while I'm currently a small handful of cases, I should be able to fit into my schedule any interesting missions you have for us." Guggenheim looked at Dante in gratitude, before putting a video of a young man on scree who was helping a couple of boats getting sucked into what appeared to be a whirlpool in a river of all things.

"As you can no doubt see a mysterious as well as a unusual streak of whirlpools forming in the River Seine. I have already sent the details of the case to your Holotome." Dante definitely looked interested in the case.

"Whirlpools?" He asked. "They would happen to happen near Rouen would they?" Sophie looked very excited. She apparently had figured out what Dante was referencing.

"Of course! The legend of the Gargoyle!" Guggenheim at first seemed shocked that Sophie had figured it out, then he gained a pleased smile on his face.

"You are indeed a Casterwill." With that Guggenheim added a image of a gargoyle. "As you no doubt know folklore often attributes these stone creatures with the power over water. This is what inspired us to use the gargoyles as spouts and fountains."

"And the legend comes from Rouen, France!" Sophie said, with a satisfied look on her face. Lok could only smile, due to the fact that it looks like they were going to be taking a mission.

Dante answered "We know that the legend is really about a titan, Gar-Ghoul. Its awakening powers are churning up the river. Has anyone been hurt?" The gold-eyed man asked suddenly. Thank whatever god was listening that Guggenheim shook his head as a no.

"Two were nearly killed." The Sophie and Lok both drew in a sharp gasp. While Dante and Zhalia merely closed their eyes.

"How can I help?" Guggenheim quickly got happy, and explained.

"We stand on a new age of Seekers. More and more people are discovering their powers each day." He nodded at both Lok and Sophie.

Dante opened his eyes, and stated. "And though the Gar-Ghoul has lain dormant since ancient times, you believe that this new age of seekers is bringing it back to life."

"Exactly." Guggenheim replied. "Here's the plan. You will go to Rouen and meet with a Foundation operative. His name is Peter. He's the one that brought this anomaly to our attention, and he will serve as your guide. You must attempt to recover Gar-Ghoul before it falls into the hands of The Organization. You should be receiving the details on your holotome now. Mission: Legend of the Gargoyle." As soon as it appeared on the Holotome, Dante had picked it up, while tucking it into one of his trench coat's pockets.

"Don't worry, Guggenheim. Rest assured that I'll be on the next flight to France." Dante promised his fellow Foundation operative.

Guggenheim smiled, said "Good luck, my friend." Then proceeded to sign off, ending the call.

Once the call had ended Zhalia began speaking while still leaning against the pillar, "You get all the good missions, Dante. How about sharing the wealth? I happen to know my way around Rouen."

Dante looked like he didn't really care, and shrugged. "You want in, fine." Sophie obviously not liking the chance of Dante and Zhalia being alone immediately shot,"Hello, excuse me? But what about us?"

Lok said, "Yeah we can help on the mission."

Dante looked at the two before sighing in defeat.

"Alright. Why not but you'll both have to pull your own weight." He said, standing up, while offering a hand to both Lok and Sophie. "Now everyone, get packed!" They obviously didn't need to be told twice cause they were running to quickly get their things packed.

Cherit flew in and asked Dante, "Can we get a more comfortable bag for him this time."

Dante wasn't lying when he said that we would be o; the first plane to Rouen, France. We arrived a couple hours later, and were at the hotel to both check in, as well as get any information on where the Foundation operative, Peter currently was.

Lok could only grin, "Now this is what I call summer vacation, a trip to France."

Sophie immediately corrected him, "this isn't a vacation Lok. We're on a serious mission."

Dante agreed with Sophie.

Lok protested, "hey I passed my finals, basically."

As they were walking into the hotel, the concierge stopped them and asked, "are you Dante Vale?"

Dante replied simply, "I am."

The concierge handed Dante a piece of paper then left.

Dante began looking at the paper, and quickly realized, "this is a very basic foundation code."

"Can I see?" Lok asked and was handed the paper by Dante.

"This is a message from our guide he's being held by the police," Dante said while beginning to walk with Zhalia.

Lok followed up while looking at the paper, "He's also at the 6th precinct at the old city."

Lok decided to ask the obvious question, "so how do we get our guide out of jail?

"Dante I think this would be easier if I handled this alone," Zhalia told Dante.

Immediately Sophie didn't like it, "hold on we can't…"

Dante interrupted, "if you insist, call us if there's trouble."

"Not likely," with that Zhalia left to do what she was asked. While Lok, Dante and Sophie began walking their own path.

"Dante how much do we really know about her?" Sophie was quick to ask.

"Her background with the foundation checks out if that's what you're wondering."

"She doesn't do the friendly thing, but I think she's ok," Lok decided to add his two cents.

"I just don't trust her," Sophie stated firmly.

"Sophie do you know something we don't. Trust has to be earned, we're going to give her a chance to do just that." Dante countered while they walked.

With that they went into their room and waited for Zhalia to contact them. An hour later Zhalia contacted them and said to wait at the park near the river. After arriving at the location, Lok began watching the water for a minute, after which Zhalia arrived with a normal looking man that was of similar in age to both him and Sophie.

"Nice work Zhalia, you did it," Lok congratulated Zhalia

"Of course," Zhalia replied back.

"I'm afraid we're running out of time, we're counting on you to tell us what happened," Dante urged to their guide.

Boy did there guide look scared when he turned to look at Zhalia, "her disguise worked. I.. I just need a few moments."

Their guide went to sit on a large rock nearby, hopefully to clear his head.

"Maybe I should handle this." With that Sophie went to talk to their guide and seemed to calm him down somewhat after a bit.

While this was happening, Dante began talking to Zhalia. Lok decided to look around so as to not interfere with there conversation.

'I'm getting antsy, this doesn't feel right. Like some sort of danger is approaching. But what, from where?' Cherit popped up to look over Lok's shoulder ray he was watching a boat maneuver on the lake

"Hey guys, I think we're running out of time," Sophie said after talking with

"You are so right, little lady." Suddenly they were swarmed by suits.

"Don't use your titans, too many people are nearby. Sophie protect our guide," Dante began shouting out orders.

"We're here to take you guys to Defoe, if you come quietly I promise no one will get hurt."

"But getting hurt is what you do best," Dante said mockingly.

"Have it your way. Get them!" Ordered the lead suit.

"Augerfrost!" The suits said aiming at Zhalia and Dante, who easily dodged the spells.

"You got no chance kid," one suit said to Lok while cracking his knuckles

Cherit quickly left from where he was perched on Lok's shoulder saying, "well Lok you're on your own. Good luck."

Lok quickly got into a fighting stance

"Raypulse!" Lok saw Dante take out one of the suits with a blast to the chest. And took out two more with a hyperstride to nail them with a blow to the head each.

Zhalia was quick to take down the suit facing her by attacking him with a kick to his back sending him flying, into two othe suits. Like bowling pins they fell to the ground, one did get up but a Raypulse took the fight out of him.

"Shadowspeed!" The suit tried to kick with a speed boost, but Lok jumped out of the way. After which Lok quickly launched a kick to the guys head, sending him to the land of unconsciousness. However he noticed that Sophie had accidentally launched a suit at their guide, Peter. With that the suits had been defeated.

"Dante! Peters hurt," Sophie called out.

"We need to keep moving," Zhalia said impatiently.

"Peter, I want you to tell Dante what you told me," Sophie asked Peter.

"The special investigator forced me to tell him about the cave of the gargoyle, his name was Defoe."

'Great, just great.'

"Then we're too late," Dante said understandably irritated.

"I wouldn't be too sure, cause I only gave him a general idea. Chances are, we can beat him there." Peter said with a smile.

"What's the fastest way to get there," Dante asked urgently.

With that they borrowed a boat and were making there way to the cave.

Now you've seen it with your own eyes, the evil that we're working against

"By the way how did you get into the huntik Foundation, Peter?" Lok was curious.

When the Foundation approached me I realized their ideals were exactly what I was looking for, to protect history and not exploit it. To learn without limits, to explore ancient secrets and preserve forgotten traditions

Considering what you barely survived I thought you'd respect adversity and the ability to bring it

We're coming up on the area of the cave now

Suddenly in front of their boat appeared three massive whirlpools.

"Hang on," Dante hollered from driving the boat. He began driving the whirlpools that had begun shooting above the water,

"Whirlpool's coming back we got to get out of the water now," Dante said driving towards rocky area in front of them, shocking them all at the maneuver.

"Dante what are you doing?" Sophie asked as Dante got out of the drivers seat.

"Jump when I say so but not a moment sooner," Dante ordered.

"Huh?" Peter looked shock at the order.

Suddenly the boat with no one at the wheel had begun jumping over the water.

"Jump," Dante ordered, and with that we all evacuated the boat and jumped straight into the river, with Dante jumping out of the boat and onto one of the rocks effortlessly.

"You guys okay?" Cherit asked in concern from overhead.

"Ahh!" Peter said almost falling back into the water, but Lok was able to keep him standing.

Sophie asked Dante, "how did you even see this place?"

"This is the origin of those water spouts."

"So that means the Gar-Ghoul Titan is nearby." Lok said

"Huh, i think you're right, these stones have been worn by high pressure water." Peter noticed while he was looking at the stones more closely.

Zhalia seemed to have walked further on ahead, and hollered back over to the, "and here's a cave."

With that they began to climb the rocks to make it to where Zhalia was currently standing. When they made it up the immediately noticed a grove.

"This grove, I could have searched forever by land and never found it," Peter exclaimed.

"Let's go," Dante said simply.

Lok suddenly had to ask, "Dante once we get inside can't we use the Holotome to map the cave's interior."

Dante looked proud when Lok asked, "exactly, I'll leave that to you," suddenly the ground beneath them shook so Dante tossed Lok the Holotome before ordering, "let's go we've got to hurry!"

They then began to wade through the water of the caves interior.

"Boltflare." Dante shed some light on the situation revealing the, to have entered a massive cavern, with Peter geeking.

"This is one of the largest caverns I've ever seen!"

Suddenly the water behind them began to bubble revealing a massive gargoyle like statue. Which they soon began to approach, however the gargoyle spat out a massive column of water at them, forcing them all to jump out of the way. It then aimed at Sophie who tried to stop the water with Honorguard.

Moving the fast, even water can hit like a bullet, Dante exclaimed.

Suddenly from above them, "I'm always a step ahead Dante Vale getting past the dreaded gargoyle was certainly not a easy task. Let's see if you can do that and manage to beat my men too." Defoe said revealing himself standing on top of the gargoyle's head.

At the same time his men revealed themselves and began to surround them, and worse part was that they had their titans out, ready for a fight.

Cherit asked from above them, "shall I talk to him I think there's some family resemblance."

They didn't get to ask because the gargoyle turned and fired at them, causing them to evade. Defoe seemed to have gone after the Gar-Ghoul amulet.

"Team, time to get our titans into gear," Dante said before saying, "Caliban, Solwing!"

"Gawain, Arawn the Hunter, Lindorm!"

"Sabriel!"

"Gareon, Killthane!"

With that there titans were out to play, Grier ordered the suits, "Engage the enemy!"

The battle had started. Dante also told Sophie to protect Peter. Sophie's Sabriel was taken down quickly when she had been focused on some enemy titans, got taken out by a blast of high pressured water. When two redcaps went after Sophie Lok had Arawn fire at them with two arrows to the head, taking them out.

"We need to get past these suits before Defoe gets to the Titan, Touchram!" Dante said while making a wave with the spell sending some suits back. After which he used Nimblefire to run ahead, and took to suits down.

Unfortunately Dante got nailed in the back by the water blast, luckily he was ok when he resurfaced.

Lok said, "we have to take out that gargoyle or we're toast! Kipperin!"

With help from Kipperin, Lok was airborne trying to find a weak spot on the gargoyle. Unfortunately at the same time a redcap had been able to take down Killthane. While at the same time Lindorm had been taken down by a water blast. Lok quickly used the Holotome to check out the gargoyle and quickly realized that it was NOT a titan.

"You're outnumbered Dante Vale, give up before someone really gets hurt," Grier ordered.

Dante only seemed to smirk with his hand in the water to reveal Metagolem's amulet scaring the suits and Grier, "there are more of you, but none more mighty than Metagolem!"

With that Metagolem was brought out, and in addition Sophie after Lok told her the statue wasn't a Titan, used a spell called break spell to destroy the statue and give them some breathing room.

Sophie then turned to Lok after the display, "the Casterwill family spells can take care of magical traps no problem."

With Metagolem looming in front of the suits and Grier, Dante began giving out new orders. "Zhalia, Lok, Sophie keep Grier occupied, Caliban!"

Caliban quickly ran over when he was called

"Hyperstride!" With that Dante and Caliban went after Defoe while the others handled clean up.

"I dont know about you guys but I'm not going to let Dante down," Sophie said as the began advancing on the organization group, who quickly beat a hasty retreat. With that they began heading to where both Defoe and Dante had gone. When the reached Dante's location they noypticed that Defoe had escaped and worse part is he got the Gar-Ghoul amulet.

"Fantastic."

"What happened?"

"He got away, with the Gar-Ghoul."

"How you mean all our work was for nothing and the organization won?"

"This isn't some feel-good fairy tale, sometimes we lose." Zhalia said realistically.

"This is awful," Sophie shouted.

"We failed, it was all for nothing." Peter said sadly.

As the others had been talking about the failure of the mission. Lok began finding his attention was drawn to the statues, and suddenly noticed something different with one of the statues and poured water into it to reveal a secret passage, which immediately cheered up the others.
