Chapter 50: Odalia's Revenge

Featuring Abomination Demon, Abomiking

& Bird Demon, Melba

Shadam was breathing heavily and was still shook of the vision he had.

Shadam: What just happened? What was that vision?

?: That is what is to come with the path you take.

The fire rose up and took the form of a fiery figure.

Shadam: Master Dozle.

Dozle: The vision you had shows what will happen if you lift the Scorpions Curse off the boy.

Shadam: But I must. Emperor Belos wants him alive and if he finds out he died because of me, he'll have my head.

Dozle: True. I do see a vision if he dies, you will be severely punished.

Shadam: So what, I'm dead either way? Do I really die at the hands of some children.

Dozle: The visions that the Monks of Zabi have aren't always concrete. The visions we have show us what is to come, but doesn't necessarily mean it's our fate.

Shadam: So there's a chance for me? Do you know if I will live?

Dozle: That is for fate to decide. Farwell Shadam.

Shadam: Master wait!

But Dozle disappears as the flames die off.

( queue Nervous from Naruto)

Shadam: ( groans) How can this happen? How could all of this happen? Why did I even place the curse on him to begin with? ( gasp) Wait no it wasn't meant for him.

We then get a flashback of the events of " Hunting Palisman" showing Shadam's fight with Luz, Hunter and Christa.

Shadam: ( narrating) I was facing off those three at Latissa. They interfered with my plan to bring the palisman to Belos. While the Golden Guard and the human were hardly a match, I let my guard down when the young witch used her power against me. She ruined my plan to please the emperor so I decided to place a curse on her. A slow and painful one. But then he stepped in and took the shot for her.

Flashback ends

Shadam: He took the shot. He took the curse that was meant for her. He brought this upon himself. It's his own fault! But what's done is done. But I have to bring him back alive. I've come so far. So far! I was able to channel my destructive power with the help of Master Dozle, I found a place here at the Emperor's Coven. I devoted my life to Emperor Belos and the Day of Unity is soon. I can't die now when we're this close to achieving our new perfect world. I refuse! Master said what comes next is fate to decide. We will see about that.

Meanwhile at the Owl House.

After Hunter had told his friends about his condition, Luz had taken him to the Owl House as Matti was called over to do a check up on him. He had his shirt off as Matti placed one hand on his shoulder and the other on his chest. She examined him as Luz, Christa, Willow, King, Eda and Alice watched, the latter coming after she was told about what was wrong. Also standing by them were Howl, Flapjack and Clover. Matti kept trying to get a pulse from Hunter, but felt nothing on the chest. She check his wrist but still nothing.

Matti: Hmm, I'm not getting a heartbeat. It's as if you're dead or you simply don't have one.

Christa: How is that possible?

Hunter: If I really am a grimwalker then I don't have a heart. A galderstone is used to give life instead.

Matti: A grimwalker you say? Okay, then let's take a look.

Matti forms a large spell circle in front of him. She looks through it like an x ray.

Matti: I see, your anatomy is a little different from ours but judging by the outline I can still make out the basic organs. But what's this black speck there?

Alice: What black speck?

The others came to Matti and looked at the x ray spell circle and saw what was in Hunter's chest.

Luz: Is that what's causing his chest pains?

Matti: Probably. Hunter you can put your shirt back on.

Matti deactivates the x ray as Hunter puts his shirt back on.

Matti: Now Hunter, how long have you been experiencing these chest pains?

Hunter: Almost a month now.

Matti: And just chest pains?

Hunter: Well actually I once or maybe twice it got so bad I coughed up blood.

After telling her about this, the others all looked concerned about this, even Matti was but she kept her composure to not freak him out.

Matti: Other than us have you told anyone about this?

Hunter: The only other person I told was Dr. Cushing. He still hasn't figured what was wrong with me but prescribed me this medicine to reduce the pain. I never told Belos in fear I would be replaced.

Matti: Okay, now do you know how you could have gotten this or when it started happening.

Hunter: Well I know started having these chest pains since...since that night at Latissa.

Luz: The night we were saving thos palisman.

Christa: And when we met Howl and Flapjack.

Hunter: And when we fought Shadam. Wait, something happened. I started feeling these pains right after the fight. After, he used an attack that took the form of a scorpion and it stung me.

Luz: So Shadam did this to you.

Matti: A scorpion?

Matti placed her hand on her chin.

Eda: You know what this is Matti?

Matti: I feel like I may of read something about a spell with a scorpion when I was trying to look into your curse, but I can't say for sure. I need to do some investigation, I might even contact Archy for help on this. Okay Hunter, I recommend you keep taking the medicine but if your run out or start feeling these pains you contact me immediately. I'll will help you in every way I can.

Hunter: Thank you ma'am.

Matti: ( patting his head) Call me Matti.

Hunter: Thank you Matti.

Alice: I know you're a busy women but I appreciate you doing this.

Matti: It's fine Alice don't worry. I'm always here to help my friends with anything. Just call me if he's in pain.

Later

We cut to Hunter and Alice making it back to the mansion as the two entered inside.

Alice: Why didn't you tell me about your chest pains?

Hunter: I forgot.

Alice: You forgot that you were experiencing chest pains and coughing blood?

Hunter: I...I just moved in and what was I supposed to say? " Hey, I'm hiding from Belos and may or may not be dying."

Alice: I get that you have a lot on your mind, but you should tell me these things Hunter. This could be life threatening.

Hunter: I just didn't want to drop all my problems onto everyone.

Alice: Hunter, your friends and I are here to help you.

Hunter: But you already have a lot to deal with.

Alice: Never mind me.

Alice places a hand on his shoulder and the other on his cheek.

Alice: My job is to ensure my kids saftey, including yours. I get what you're feeling and you didn't want to drop all of this on me, but this is serious. So don't be scared to tell me what's wrong. I'm here to help and protect you.

Hunter held onto her hand on his cheek and then quickly hugged her. But then realized what he was doing lets go.

Hunter: I'm so sorry, that was unwanted physical contact.

Alice: Of course not. Come here.

Alice pulls him into a hug. Hunter hugged Alice tight as he was getting a warm and peaceful feeling from her. But as this was happening, Amity was watching all of this from upstairs and went back to her room upset.

The next morning.

Amity was getting dressed for school and was looking around her room getting her things, until she heard a knock at the door.

Alice: Amity, can I come in?

Amity: Yes Aunt Alice.

Alice enters the room.

Alice: I'm about to head to work, but I can drop you off to school on the way there if you want.

Amity: I'm good.

Alice however noticed something off with Amity's answer. How she didn't look at her and her glum tone.

Alice: You alright?

Amity: I'm just getting ready for school.

Alice: No, not that. Something's not right with you.

Amity: I'm fine really.

Alice: Come here. Sit down.

Alice had her sit down on the bed next to her.

Alice: Something's on your mind. I can tell. Is it because your still not warming to Hunter?

Amity: I'm being cautious around him.

Alice: You don't have to be. He's no threat and I assume Luz told you about him.

Amity: She did and she told me how he needs help and compared him to me.

Alice: In a way she's right you know.

Amity: But I know what he's like and I've seen how you've been giving him a lot of attention. Is it because...because you never got the family you wanted to start with Darius?

Alice placed her hand on her niece's cheek and had her face her.

Alice: Look at me. This past decade has been tough for me. After your grandparents passed away they entrusted me their home, yet I've been lonely here. Everday I come home from work I have no one to spend time or talk to. I have no one here for me.

Amity: You have me.

Alice: ( smiles) I know. Let me tell you have you three here has been great and...

Alice looks behind her at the door to make sure no one was there.

Alice: Don't tell your brother and sister, but you've always been my favorite.

Amity: Really?

Alice: I mean it. You remind me of myself when I was your age. Your a strong, independent and beautiful young witch. Every time I came to visit, I always looked forward seeing you and what you learned with your magic. I'm so happy that someone like you was born, if only that sorry excuse of a mother would see that.

Alice held Amity close to her.

Alice: I'm so sorry for the way she treated you and how your father never stood up for you. Had I known this from the start I would have done something sooner.

Amity: I was just too scared to say anything.

Alice: I know, still she can't get you anymore. I promise you that and unlike her, you can talk to me on whatever is on your mind. I took Hunter in because he reminds me of you. The situation he's going through is a lot like yours and if I didn't help him, that's like saying I'm abandoning you. He knows the things he's done were wrong but is trying to atone. But never think I'm neglecting you or if I was I'm sorry. No one can ever replace you.

Amity: Okay. Alice one more thing, but why did you bring dad here?

Alice: He just wanted to see you. He was doing really bad on his own and so I gave him a second chance offered him a job and he also wanted to reconnect with you three. But I saw that didn't go well.

Amity: Because I don't forgive him and why are you helping him if you cut him off?

Alice: I cut him off for his actions and lack of parenting. But I don't want his life ruined because of me. Even though I'm still upset with what he's done and for still listening to his wife, he's still my brother. He along with you three are the only family I have left.

Amity: ( sighs) Yeah.

Alice: After he had you I wanted start my own family and maybe you would have cousins to play with. Sadly that never happened.

Amity: Because Darius didn't want one with you. I'm sorry that happened.

Alice: It was so long ago, but never mind that. Having you here has been great. I mean before this we haven't seen each other that often and you've changed so much since the last time I saw you.

Amity: Yeah, well I have Luz to thank.

Alice: Yeah she's a good one. ( smirks) You think she'll be the one when you grow up.

Amity: ( face turns red) Alice!

Alice: ( chuckling) Just teasing you. But Amity, will you try to forgive Hunter or your dad?

Amity: Well, they have to prove to me that they've changed.

Alice: I understand also remember whatever is on your mind you can talk to me. ( hugs her) Because that's what I'm here for and never think I would replace you. ( boops her nose) You'll always be my number one.

Amity: ( giggles) Thank you Aunt Alice and I want you to know that living here with you has been great. I've never felt comfortable at home before and I'll never let you feel lonely again. Even when you grow old, I promise to take care of you.

Alice: Aw thanks. ( kisses her head) I'm glad your happy here. You sure you don't want me to take you to school?

Amity: Thanks but I'm fine, really.

Alice: Okay, I'll see you tonight.

Alice gets up and leaves.

Amity: Oh Aunt Alice one more thing real quick.

Alice: Yeah?

Amity: Um, well. I know how your one of the few witches to master the abominatin transformation spell. You think you can teach me?

Alice: ( smiles) I can, but it'll take you ten years to master.

Amity: Ten years? Didn't think it was that hard, but I'll accept that challenge.

Alice: I look forward to it someday.

Alice leaves as Amity continues getting ready for school, happy with her talk with Alice.

Later that night.

Alador had returned home from his first day of work. He entered his apartment and saw Odalia wearing a coat as she was about to go out.

Odalia: Oh welcome home hon. How was your first day?

Alador: Oh it went fine. It felt a little weird working as a regular employee rather than at the top but glad I can get good job again.

Odalia: Well that's nice. I'm heading out.

Alador: Where are you going?

Odalia: Just going to see an old friend. Be back later tonight.

As Odalia left, a small card fell out of the coats pocket. Alador didn't notice it at first as after she left, he went to the fridge to get a bottle of apple blood and then went into the drawer to find a bottle opener.

Alador: Hmm, I could have sworn I left the main storage key in here. Did I misplace it? Eh, I have a spare.

Alador was about to sit down until he noticed the card on the floor. He picked it up and saw it was Monsieur Bolst's business card.

Odalia: Why does she still have this? I thought I told her not to associate with him again.

Alador looked back into the drawer to keep looking.

Alador: No, no that can't be it. I just misplaced it. She wouldn't right?

The scene then cuts to Alador at his storage unit and opening it up with his spare key. To his shock, the Abomiking was gone.

Alador: Oh no,no, no, no, NO! What is she thinking? Oh no.

Alador took out a raven phone and dialed to call Alice.

Alador: Come on, come on Alice answer.

But there was no answer.

Alador: AH! This is bad. Really bad! Who else can I get?

Alador formed his penstagram scroll and looked through his contacts. His kids were out since they refuse to see him and then he passed by Darius's contact. He looked at it for a moment and sighed.

Alador: I can't believe I'm doing this.

Meanwhile

We cut to Alice on her way back home, flying through the sky riding on Stranix. But then she heard the faint sounds of an engine, something flying. She turned around and gasped when she saw a green projectile coming at her.

Alice: Look out!

She acted quickly and forced Stranix to fly out of the way, much to his discomfort and roared.

Alice: I'm sorry Stranix. I'm sorry.

Alice turned around and saw who did that. It was Abomiking who was flying at her with his jet packs and roared.

Alice: Abomiking? But how?

Abomiking roared and his the jet packs gave him and explosive boost and knocked the two off the sky. Alice fell onto a tree, hitting each branch as she fell down. She hit the ground and slowly got up. Once she got up, Abomiking landed and roared.

Alice: This can't be right. How are you here?

Odalia: Perhaps I can explain that.

Alice looked up and saw Odalia, with Monsieur Bolst, riding on his bird demon Melba. Melba landed as the two got off of him.

Odalia: Hello again Alice.

Alice: Odalia, what's the meaning of this?

Odalia: I'm sure you remember our shelved project Abomiking.

Alice: I remember alright. I remember I told you and Alador to destroy it.

Odalia: We lied. You really think we're going to destroy one our biggest accomplishments because of a few bugs?

Alice: This thing could have killed us.

Odalia: True it went beserk but it's under our control now.

Alice looked at Abomiking and saw a small circular device on the head. The same thing was on Monsieur Bolst.

Alice: What is that?

Odalia: Allow us to demonstrate. Monsieur.

Monsieur Bolst raised his hand as Abomiking copied what he did.

Monsieur Bolst: Take two steps forward.

Abomiking did as he said.

Monsieur Bolst: Take two steps back.

Abomiking again did as he said.

Monsieur Bolst: Now, slice that tree.

Abomiking formed his hand into a scythe and cuts the tree near him in half with ease.

Odalia: See, with this he's under our control.

Alice: You haven't fixed it, your using another device to control him. If you're trying to use this to get yourself back in the business or lift your curse you can forget it.

Odalia: Oh I know. I know, you'll never let me back and you gave Alador a lowlife job. I know you'll never let us back to the top. But if something unfortunate were to happen to you.

Alice: What are you getting at?

Odalia: I know how your the heir to the business and trust fund, but Alador is next in line. So, say if you died he would get it.

Alice: Is this what it's all about? You're hear to kill me?

Odalia: Oh, I'm not. He is.

Monsieur Bolst: GO! Kill her!

Abomiking roared and breathed fire at Alice. She dodged and formed her arms into abomination arms and punched at Abomiking. He gets hit across the face and then she formed her arm into a scythe and tries to slash him, Abomiking blocked the attack with his scythe hand and formed his other hand into a hammer and hits Alice across the body. Alice falls to the ground and holds her stomach from the tough impact of the hammer hand.

Alice: You're insane Odalia!

Odalia: No, my mind is clear. But I am going to enjoy this.

Abomiking got closer to her and aimed his wrist cannons at her. She blocked the attack with an abomination shield. She formed an abomination spear and threw it at Abomiking's shoulder, piercing it as we heard Stranix roar and pouncing at him from behind. Stranix was clawing and biting onto Abomiking as he struggled to get him off. Abomking used his pincer tail and grabbed Stranix by the back of his neck, lifted him up and threw him at a boulder. Alice ran over to help him as Abomiking's chest began to glow and fired it's chest beam at the two.

Odalia: Did you do it? Is she dead?

The smoke cleared up, but they didn't see any bodies or remains.

Odalia: Where's the body?

Melba looks up as he roars.

Monsieur Bolst: What is it Melba?( looks up) Ah, up there.

The two saw Alice trying to fly away on Stranix.

Monsieur Bolst: She's still alive.

Odalia: Well shoot at her! Shoot her!

Monsieur Bolst: Go! Fly up!

Abomiking roars and flies up. Abomiking catches up and forms his arms into cannons and prepares to fire two green lasers at Alice. He fires and she retaliates forming purple fire at him, the two impacts collide creating and explosion. Alice and Stranix again fall to the ground. Alice looked hurt, appeared to have some burns from the explosion, as did Stranix but he got up and helped Alice up as the two hid deeper in the woods. She tried to catch her breathe as they heard Abomiking roaring looking for them.

Alice: Stranix listen to me. He's targeting me and if we both try to escape he'll get you too, but it's me he wants. I want you to get help.

Stranix growled in disagreement.

Alice: Listen to me. Go back to the mansion, Amity is the only other one who understands you. Have her get help and come back here. I'll hold him off as long as I can.

Stranix growled again.

Alice: I'll be fine. Just go, please.

Stranix nudges her as she pets him and reluctantly flies off. Once he was out of sight, Abomiking cut down the tree behind her with his scythe hand. Alice turned around as Abomiking roared at her forming his other hand into a mace eager to fight her.

Alice: Guess there's no point running from you.

Alice transformed her body into her abomination form and formed both hands into scythes.

Alice: You are so going to get this Odalia.

Alice and Abomiking ran at each other and clashed beginning their fight.

Meanwhile

We cut to the mansion as we see Luz, Christa and Willow with Hunter now teaching him plant magic. The three of them demonstrated to Hunter to make large flower. He tried to make one with a glyph but his turned out wilted.

Luz: Your circle for the glyph is kinda rough.

Hunter: It's hard trying to make a perfect circle.

Luz: I know, believe me I wasn't very good at drawing circles. But to be a great artist I had to learn. Luckily it helped me a lot to make perfect circles.

Willow: Just try again. You can do it.

Christa: Think positive.

Hunter tries again, but instead it only sprouted a small flower.

Hunter: What did I do that time?

Luz: That was an oval. It has to be a circle.

Christa: I mean that's a step up if you ask me.

We also see Amity watching the group from the distance with Edric and Emira as the two were fighting over the last bag of chips. Amity wanted to join the others but didn't feel comfortable to be around Hunter. That's when they heard a faint roaring sound. They looked up and saw a distressed Stranix landing and roaring uncontrollably.

Amity: Stranix?

The group ran up to him as Amity tried to calm him down.

Luz: What's wrong with him?

Amity: I don't know. Stranix. Stranix, shh, shh. Calm down. What is it? Where's Alice?

Amity looked into Stranix's distressed eyes.

Christa: He looks hurt also. What happened to him?

Amity: Alice is in trouble. She needs help.

Amity gets on him.

Amity: I'm gonna go see what this is. You guys go get Eda.

Luz: Do we really need her help?

Amity: Judging by Stranix's reaction and his wounds, they had to be fighting something dangerous. But I'm going to see what and I'll have Stranix find you and lead you back to us. Give me something that will give him your scent.

Emira: ( takes out a small blanket) Here, Ed's foofie.

Edric: Why do you have my foofie?

Emira: Ed your too old for this and I was going to throw it out but I guess it'll finally come in handy.

Emira tosses it to Amity.

Luz: Amity wait, let me come with you at least. Christa, Willow you and the others go get Eda.

Christa: We'll hurry to her.

Willow: You guys better get going.

Amity takes Luz's hand and helps her up.

Amity: Once we get their we'll have Stranix sniff you guys out to find you and he'll lead you to us.

Edric: Just give my foofie back when your done will you?

Emira: Ed!

Hunter: Wait, let me come too.

Amity: Stranix can't carry anyone else.

Hunter: Then let me follow you. I want to help.

Amity: You can help by getting help! Let's go Stranix.

Stranix flies up as Hunter watched her leave.

Christa: Hunter come on, we have to go.

Hunter: Yeah, let's.

We cut to Luz and Amity flying to where Stranix is taking them. Luz held onto Amity tight during the flight..

Amity: You okay?

Luz: Yeah, I'm just not used to flying on him.

Amity: He's normally not this rough except for emergencies.

Luz: So you can understand him?

Amity: I'm no beast keeper and can't speak to him like I do with Ghost, but without any language I can tell what he's saying by his reactions and body language.

Luz: You said he and Alice were fighting something. What was it?

Amity: I'm not sure, but whatever this is, Luz stay by me.

Luz: And you stay by me. We'll fight this thing together.

Amity: Okay.

Luz: Amity, Stranix is capable of carrying three or maybe four of us.

Amity: I know he is.

Luz: Why didn't you let Hunter come then?

Amity: Because I don't want him anywhere near us.

Luz: Amity...

Amity: I know Luz. I just...I just can't okay. I just don't trust him around us. We'll be fine as long as we stick together.

Luz: You'll have to soon Amity. You'll have to soon.

Meanwhile

We cut back to Alador waiting near his empty storage unit, standing with him were two abomotons he had acquired at Blight Industries when suddenly a hooded figure approached him.

Alador: It's about time you showed up Darius.

The figure takes off his hood revealing to be Darius.

Darius: What do you want Alador? I thought I told you to never call me ever again.

Alador: It's been a while Darius. I know you're not too happy to see me, but I didn't know who else to turn to.

Darius: What is this about?

Alador: ( sighs) You remember 15 years ago? The day we brought the Abomiking.

Darius: You mean you brought it. Where is this going?

Darius looks over at the empty storage unit and realizes what this is.

Dairus: No.

Alador: Darius listen to me.

Darius: You kept it didn't you?

Alador: I did.

Darius: I don't believe you! I told Alice to tell you to destroy that thing. But you kept it anyway!

Alador: Yes, I did. I lied about destroying it. Whenever I wasn't at work I would come back to it the work on the bugs.

Darius: And were you able to fix it.

Alador: No, I have not.

Darius: Of course you don't.

Alador: Darius listen to me.

Darius: Why should I? You never listened to me. I told you not build that thing you didn't listen to me. I had your sister tell you to destroy it but you didn't listen to her either. It's like you love doing this don't you?

Alador: Listen to me! I know I lied but I really need your help. Odalia is using it right now for something really bad.

Darius: What do you need me for? Aren't those two right there all you need?

Alador: It may not be enough. While the Abomotons are based off it's design, blueprints and mechanics, they're not as powerful as it. They're just here for suppport. I need someone strong.

Darius: Well count me out.

Darius turns around and leaves.

Alador: Dairus don't go. I need you.

Darius: I missed the part where that's my problem.

Alador: But I think she's going to kill my sister with it.

Darius stops at his tracks when he said that.

Darius: Alice?

Alador: I know how Odalia never liked her and was really at it with her when she cut us off, cursed her and didn't offer her a job back. I think she wants to kill Alice to reclaim the fortune and have the business back. I know I messed up, but I can't save her alone. I'm begging you, you don't have to do it for me, but do it for her. I know you two broke up, but I know deep down you must still care for her. After everything we went through together as kids and when she helped train with you and the previous guard. Please Darius, help me on this and then you can go back hating me again.

Darius stood there for a moment. But then he turned back and approached Alador with a serious look on his face.

Darius: Just take me to the Abomiking.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. I'm sorry this took a while. In case you can't tell, I'm f*cking pissed beyond belief, because I had to start the chapter all over, AGAIN! I had the chapter done and as I was proof reading and editing, my computer rebooted in the middle of it. This caused the original file to corrupt and unable to access. I got so frustrated that I flipped out, lost motivation to make this and raged quite for a while. Eventually I rewrote when I finally calmed down but I had to cut out a few scenese because I didn't want to write the whole thing all over. But I promise the scenes I cut out were just filler that dragged out the story and focused more on the important stuff. Anyway sorry, I hope you guys enjoyed it.
