"Someone Talking"
'Someone Thinking'
Venice Italy
It's been a couple of days since they had been able to obtain the legendary ring of arc, and they had returned to Dante's place. Well Lok, Sophie Cherit and Dante did Zhalia apparently had some things to take care of so stayed in Paris. Lok had been trying to master a spell that he had been interested in learning for a while but just never had the time, the spell Sorrowbound. It would be useful for separating the enemies titans from them. Deciding to play it safe he used it on one of Dante's spare amulets he had lying around, in this case one belonging to a redcap.
"Alright I think I got it this time," Lok said holding his hand in front of Dante's Redcap amulet before saying, "Sorrowbound."
Soon after Lok had said that a orange translucent barrier appeared around the amulet causing it to begin floating, signifying that it's bond with Dante had been cut at least for the moment.
"Excellent work Lok, you really mastered that spell," Dante congratulated Lok and picked up his Redcap amulet before putting it away.
It was at that moment that a message arrived. So they walked into the room with Tv with Dante saying, "it probably from Guggenheim."
Dante turned on the screen to see what Guggenheim wanted.
"Hello, everyone I trust you're enjoying the afternoon. How does a trip to the wilds of Scandinavia sound, Iceland I should say."
"Sounds cold, what's there?" Dante inquired curiously.
"Mission the Hammer of Thor, reach Thor's temple, retrieve the hammer Mjolnir," Guggenheim stated the facts on what the mission entailed.
"I'll see what I can do."
"Well that's everything, good luck all, travel safe, and pack warm," Guggenheim said before signing off
"Seekers we have a mission," Dante said as he moved to kneel next to one of his tables and opened a compartment before pressing a button to reveal a secret compartment with se
"He didn't give us much to go on, where are we supposed to start?" Lok wondered, as Dante grabbed a Meso-Titan amulet from the selection in the secret compartment before closing it, and putting his new amulet in his jacket.
"We start at the beginning, with a little research, we leave for London in the morning to meet an old friend. I have a hunch that this mission is going to get complicated."
The next evening they had been able to make it to London where they currently stood in front of what appeared to be some sort of museum.
"Uh oh, looks like we got here to late." Lok said reading the nearby sign that said it was closed at the time.
"Don't worry Tersley expecting us." Dante told us.
'Wait Tersley if I remember the facts right that was the right hand man of Dante's rival Montehue,' Lok thought with Sophie apparently having similar thoughts given she began voicing them. "Hang on Tersley doesn't he work with Monethue that elite seeker from the Huntik Foundation?"
"I don't know about Elite, officially Montehue is ranked second." Dante said with a shrug. "Either way I don't plan on running into Monethue tonight."
He pressed the buzzer probably to talk to Tersley.
"Who's there," a voice said nervously from the telecom.
"Tersley it's Dante Vale," Dante told the telecom revealing the nervous voice to belong to Tersley.
"Yes, yes alright one moment." Soon enough a nervous looking man opened the door and stood behind the door to greet the group.
"Hello Tersley," Dante told the man good naturely.
"Hello Dante c-come in." Tersley said while opening the door for the group to enter the museum
"I don't believe you've met my associates. Tersley this is Lok Lambert, and Sophie Casterwill." Dante said introducing us.
"Nice to meet you," Sophien said.
"Hey," Lok greeted.
"Hello," Tersley greeted back still nervous.
"Montehue around," Dante asked changing topics.
"Presently he's playing racquetball at the club," Tersley's answer to his ques seemed to cause Dante to smirk before he said.
"Ruthlessly crushing his opponent no doubt, I'd appreciate it if you didn't mention to him that we dropped by. You know how he can be."
"Mums the word, we'll talk in here," Tersley said while pointing to one of the museum's empty rooms. Before Tersley and Dante entered the room, Dante turned to Lok and Sophie and said.
"Why don't you two have a look around, and stay alert."
With that the two teen began looking around the museum and soon found themselves in a gallery filled with paintings, and Lok couldn't help but say, "I don't really get art."
"Not to worry it's just like watching Tv, only the pictures don't move quite so much."
"Funny."
"Leblanche used to tell me my mother was a great art collector I don't remember her well but somehow I feel like I'm closer to her with all these paintings." Sophie said while stopping to stand in front of one of the paintings. Lok felt like that with his dad when he had started doing seeker missions after his disappearance. It was at that moment that a shadow originating from the window fell over them before quickly leaving, Sophie and Lok turned to face one another.
"You saw that too right?" Sophie asked as they stealthily ran to the sides of the window and upon looking out of it they saw a mysterious man wearing a robe with a hood, but from what they could make out he had a white beard and he raised a hand that glowed light blue no doubt with a spell
"Who is that is he trying to spy on Dante?"
"Only one way to find out come on," Lok said as he and Sophie exited the museum to see where the guy had gone! There he goes
"You there stop," Sophie ordered but was unsuccessful.
"Oh that did the trick, come on." Lok urged.
"He got away," Sophie said huffing, suddenly Lok saw a glow coming from one of the alley ways.
"No there he is, hyper stride," Lok said jumping over to the alleyway he had seen the glow come from
"Lok." Sophie said while quickly following after him but when they reached the alleyway there was no one.
"But I know I saw him right here."
"Sorry Lok it was probably a illusion to throw us off, come on we better tell Dante."
"Tell me what?" Dante's voice shocked them as they turned to find him hyperstriding towards them with Tersley running after to him
"You followed us!"
"We heard the shouting, what happened?"
"There was someone outside the window but we couldn't see his face," Lok started.
"And he got away?"
"He could be anywhere," Sophie supplied.
"What do you think is going on Dante?" Lok asked.
"Nothing we've heard the last of."
With that they thanked Tersley for his time before getting a small flight to Iceland with their plane landing in the wilderness after seeing the plane off they began to hike through the snow on the way to the temple of Thor. Honestly since the left the airport Lok hasn't been able to feel his face, didn't help that his pack was the biggest among the group.
"Dante do you know how much further we have to hike," Sophie asked from where she was walking closer to Dante.
"Let's have a look, we'll I input Tersley's info into my Holotome even so I can't say more than we're headed in the right direction."
"Why doesn't that make me feel any better." Lok said.
"You may as well get used to it we could be out here for a while," informed Dante.
After walking for a while they ended up sliding down a snowy slope, and a while later fighting through a blizzard where Dante hollered over to them, "there no sense going any further, let's set up camp down there!"
He said while pointing to the forest, the trees no doubt would block some of the worst of the weather. It ended up being dark by the time they had set everything up. They were all in one tent with Dante sleeping, himself trying to stay awake, while Sophie was reading a book with a flashlight.
"This is pretty interesting according to this book Tersley gave me, in Norse Mythology there are nine different worlds connected by a rainbow bridge now the highest of these worlds called Asgard was the one guarded by Thor and his hammer."
Lok was honestly falling asleep a little with the way Sophie recited the book's information, "fascinating."
"And here it says many ancient Norse worshiped him, as a god of Justice that must be why Tersley thinks he was a Seeker." Sophie continued.
"You read too much."
"And you read too little, here there'll be a pop quiz tomorrow morning," Sophie said while tossing a book his way.
"Awesome," Lok said deadpanned. With that the two who were still up read their books. When suddenly a flash of light caught their attention as they heard Cherit make a noise from outside the tent, Sophie quickly opened the hatch to let Cherit race inside where he was stopped by his long scarf getting caught on something outside where he fell to the ground.
"Cherit you ok?"
"Don't mind me, there's somebody out there!" Cherit said while pointing towards the billowing entrance of the tent that they were all in.
"Somebody or something?"
"Lok do something!" Cherit urged.
"Shh! Stay put." With that Lok ran outside and ran towards a strange glowing green light that quickly disappeared as he got closer which caused him to turn his head in directions while saying out loud, "wait, where did it go?"
Suddenly he saw a figure appear from the darkness of the night, and while at first he immediately thought to slam into the intruder he thought better of it and played it smart. "Who areā¦.Wait, Zhalia. What are you doing here?"
"Simple junior, Dante asked me to come and give you guys a hand, so where's Dante I need to let him know that I'm here."
"Zhalia, glad to see you made it ok." Dante's voice came from behind them and when they looked behind they saw Dante and Sophie walking up to them.
"Well your lucky I'm good with location spells, otherwise I would have turned back a long time ago."
"Well its never too late," Sophie said due to her obvious dislike of Zhalia.
"Clever, so let me guess you haven't located the temple yet." Zhalia said as the group moved closer to the fire pit that they had set up.
"Good guess."
"We were heading in the right direction that is before the blizzard." Lok supplied
"Trust me it could have been a lot worse, better a blizzard than the guardians." Zhalia countered.
Lok unfamiliar with the name that Zhalia had just used asked, "the guardians who are they?"
"So you've heard of them too." Dante said.
"What are you too talking about?"
"They don't know," Zhalia questioned before deciding to inform the two who hadn't been informed what Zhalia and Dante had been talking about, "word has it that there's an ancient cult called the Guardians of Thor. They've been in existence for thousands of years preserving the ways Norse gods."
"Something tells me the protect temples and artifacts."
"That's not the best part Junior, the organization infiltrated their little group completely so you see by now they know that we're coming and they're not giving in without a fight."
With that the group returned to their tents and went to bed. This is due to them getting up early in the morning and walking through the snow Dante shouted from where he was leading the group, "watch your step one slip and you'll end up in the crags!"
"How far have we gone anyways," Lok asked Dante from his position in the traveling group.
"3 miles maybe more." Dante answered still looking at his Holotome which
"This snow has already ruined my new boots, is there any reason why we're not just using powers to get around?" Zhalia complained.
"Dante told us to conserve our power," suddenly what looked like another blizzard started to form at that moment, so Sophie asked Zhalia, "exactly what spell are you using anyway?"
"This isn't me."
"Then what's going on."
Suddenly they felt slight quakes like something massive was coming towards them so Dante shouted something's coming stay on your guard, be ready for anything
Suddenly a massive shadowed silhouette appeared in front of them and as it got close I looked to be a golem made of ice similar to the legends about the frost giants in Norse mythology. Lok was not fluent on all titans so sadly was unable to recognize it.
Dante similarly didn't know as pulled out his Holotome which began spewing the information.
Ymir - Attack 6 - Defense 5 - Litho-Titan Warrior - Size - Colossal - Special Abilities - Summon Allies
"A frost giant I read about them last night. It must have been summoned by the guardians." Sophie shouted running up to Dante.
"I was afraid of this. It's the Titan Ymir, he can create a army of ice creatures to fight by his side," Dante said.
"What's the plan?"
"I'll hit him with a frontal attack everyone else fan out and hit him here, here and here." Dante said while pointing at points on his holotome, "and see if you can distract him. Lok follow his footprints back where he came from over here."
"Oh man, he does not look friendly."
"There's a reason for that he isn't."
"Move it , touchram," Dante said while firing a blast at the head of Ymir which unfortunately only seemed to serve to piss of the powerful creature even more.
"It didn't work he's too strong."
"Plan B everyone run!"
With that, the group quickly discarded their packs and booked it in the opposite direction as the charging titan was currently located luckily do too them being smaller and lighter they were able to keep ahead of the beast
"Bristlevine." Dante shouted as vine erupted and ensnared one of the titans legs causing it to fall over, "hurry this way."
With that the group ran towards where the Titan had come from with Zhalia angrily asking, "what are you doing? What if they're more like him?"
"We'll take that chance, we need to follow his tracks back to the temple before the snow buries them."
"Hurry!"
Suddenly behind them the titan tore apart the vines holding him down and breathed in a big breath of air before blasting out a cold gust of air and snow at the currently running group that enveloped them and when it died down they soon found themselves surrounded by dozens of creatures made up of snow and ice.
"Uh oh, this does not look good."
"Stay calm, okay get ready. Come on out Caliban!" Dante's summoning of his titan signaled to the others to let out their titans.
"Emerge Sabriel!"
"Now, Gawain!"
"Gareon, Killthane quickly!"
With that the four humanoid titans charged forewords, with the ice creatures doing the same. Luckily it only seemed like one attack was enough to take down the ice creatures, so while the opponent had the quantity, Lok and the group had better quality. But even numbers could take down more powerful opponents as soon the numbers were overwhelming their titans.
Zhalia seemed to realize this as well as she said, "we need to hit them harder."
"I brought a Titan especially for this mission, and the time to use it is now." Dante said while bringing out the Amulet he had grabbed earlier.
"Melt them, Ignatius," while slamming his hand that held the amulet into the snow. This caused a line of of snow to be blasted up and at the end of the line it erupted into flames, that revealed a Titan made completely out of fire. However Lok noticed that Sophie seemed to shy away slightly while looking at the Titan, Lok would have to ask her about it later.
Anyways upon being summoned the Titan of fire blew flames onto the creatures of ice that immediately melted them into slush. However unfortunately Ymir arrived at where they currently were, Dante quickly gave out order. "Lok, Sophie trace his tracks back to the temple we'll stay here and hold the line."
"Got it." With that the pairs split up with Sophie and Lok booking it towards the general idea of the temple was, with a being made of snow and ice hot on their tails, little did the two know is that Dante was climbing on the beast trying to get its attention.
Lok turned his head to see if he was still following them, and sure enough he still was. "It's still following us."
"Hurry."
Suddenly in front of them, Cherit who was flying above them saw something and halted their run, they stopped just in time as they ended up seeing the crag that was in front of them, like the ones that Dante had talked about earlier that day.
"I guess we have no choice then," Sophie said as they went in opposite directions while saying, "hurry."
The plan was to knock the ice Titan over the edge of the Crevice, and as the Titan got closer, Lok and Sophie got ready before both of them shouted, "Raypulse!"
The two blasts nailed the giant in the face but the creature kept moving forward causing them to back up closer to the edge. With them moving to the side of the crevice they were able to send the beast over the edge. However as the beast was going over the edge they all saw Dante on the beast's back.
Lok turned to the others, "wait, what about Dante?"
"He was trying to save us, he must have gone over the edge."
"What did I ever do to you guys?" Dante voice shocked them as they quickly turned to look over the edge and saw Dante climbing up.
"Dante your ok."
"Was there ever any doubt," Dante said as he removed the snow that was on his jacket
Suddenly from behind them they saw the ice on the other side of the crag start breaking apart.
"Uh the ice is breaking!"
"The giant's fall must have done some damage," as Dante finished his sentence the ice and mist parted to reveal that on the other side was what they had been looking for in the temple of Thor. It was at that moment that Zhalia arrived at where they were currently located.
"The temple of Thor," Lok said mesmerized.
"It's so beautiful."
"Well now that we all agree how breathtaking it is does anyone have any idea how to you know, get there," Zhalia commented.
"No problem I'll fly over there with kipperin." Lok stated, before Sophie halted him from bringing out kipperins amulet.
"Wait a minute, I read something something about a bridge," that got everyone's interest.
Dante then asked, "hold on what about a bridge?"
"I read that it connects the world of mortals to the realm of the gods," Lok suddenly remembered what Sophie was talking about the rainbow bridge.
"The bridge your talking about is a rainbow right. They usually happen during a sun shower," Lok said.
"Right a rainbow is formed when the sun hit droplets of moisture in the earth's atmosphere. If we could only create the right conditions somehow."
"Hey guys I have an idea, Dante can you bring out Ignatius?" Lok asked.
"This should be interesting, let's see what you've got in mind, Ignatius." Dante said as he quickly brought out the fire Titan.
"Let's go Kipperin," as Dante was bring out his Titan Lok had grabbed Kipperins amulet from his bag, and quickly summoned the moth like Titan. Before the moth could wrap around Lok he stopped it and asked it, "hold on let's switch it up, ready?"
With that Kipperin wrapped around Ignatius giving it flight capabilities and soon brought it skyward after which Ignatius began blasting out a massive circle of flames that caused the snow to turn into rain.
"Zhalia if you would be so kind," Dante who had gotten the gist of Lok's idea turned to ask Zhalia.
There's nothing my strix can't put a whole in, Zhalia said as she brought out the bee like titans and they quickly made holes in the clouds letting sun shine through them and causing the rainbow bridge to form.
"Oh, I think it's working."
"Wow."
"That was incredible."
"Not too bad."
"The rainbow bridge, it's really there."
"Alright there's only one thing to do now, let's go."
With the rainbow bridge having been made they began to cross it to get to the temple. Lok exclaimed, "Alright temple of Thor, here we come."
They were almost to the other end of the bridge when from behind them came a flock of bird creatures that were eerily similar to the ice creatures that the Titan Ymir had summoned.
Suddenly as the group was preparing to start fighting the ice bird like creatures a axe came flying from out of nowhere and shattered four of the enemies before ending up embedded in the ice next to the group. With the turning to look at the source and found someone that Lok recognized as Montehue himself Dante's rival.
"Now that's what I call cutting it close. Hahaha."
"Montehue, what a surprise." Dante said.
"Good to see you pal, been looking for you and your friends all over this fjord here. Glad I wore my snow boots."
"How did you find out about our mission?"
"My assistant happened to mention it," as he turned slightly to reveal that behind him was Tersley also equipped with snow gear.
"He he bossed it out of me."
"I'm sure he did."
"Well it looks like you and your friends here have found the magic temple, must not have been easy, of course it would have taken me a lot less time."
"I hate to interrupt but we are surrounded by hostile snow cones." As Dante finished talking the ice birds suddenly started attacking again.
"Spread out."
"Run, I'll handle this," Montehue said as he used one of his twin blades axes to smash an ice creature.
Suddenly the birds started attacking Tersley who with some difficulty summoned a goblin like creature with sharp scythe like hands, and a scorpion tail. Soon after it began smashing and slicing any enemies that tried to attack Tersley.
Deciding to go with a ranged attacker Lok brought out Arawn's amulet, he also noticed that Dante had pulled out Ignatius amulet once again.
"Arawn the Hunter!"
"Ignatius!"
With the two titans help they were quickly able to plow through and destroy a good chunk of the ice creatures. With the rest high tailing it out of there, after which Lok, Tersley and Dante returned their titans to their amulets, while Montehue began talking, "well all I can say is it's a good thing I was here."
"I really don't know what we would have done without you."
"Ah come on Vale I was just yanking your chain a little."
"Uh I don't mean to interrupt but the temple is right over there," Lok said causing the two to turn in his direction.
"Right now that we're all here we ought to go grab that hammer, no."
"After you, Monty."
"Your a Prince."
With that the group made their way to the entrance which soon opened to reveal a man similar to the one that was watching them before they had gotten here.
"I see you've made it we've been expecting you at our humble temple."
"We noticed."
"We were informed that you would be arriving soon in order to collect a certain artifact."
"That's right," Dante replied.
"This way my friends."
"You sure we should trust this guy," Lok whispered to the others.
"No I'm not."
"We can't get past that door if he's letting us in we're going to follow," Dante said which was sound logic.
"But once we're inside."
"All bets are off," Monethue said seriously.
"Welcome to the temple of Thor," as we entered the temple with the guardian closing the door behind them. Quickly they were led deeper into the temple by a temple guardians hopefully to the location for the Hammer of Thor, but if Zhalia information was correct then they were probably being led into a trap. They were soon led into an open area of the temple with there guide turning to them and saying.
"If you would be so kind as to wait here. My master will receive you in a moment." With that their guide exited the room, and they were left to their own devices.
To be continued
