Chapter 67:

Christa vs Belos

Selene and Dr. Cushing were in their lab. They were making a brew in a cauldron and the ingredients we see the things Selene had previously gathered from the island of monsters, the shroku tree bark, lizaflos tail, matango spores and selkidomus scales. She was mixing the brew as Dr. Cushing grinded the spores and the bark before putting in the brew and then threw in the scales and tail. The brew lit up glowing green.

Selene: It's almost done.

Dr. Cushing: And you say this will help you in defeating Lilith once and for all.

Selene: I've had trouble tying to defeat her and her sister because of their new beast like forms. This will allow me to rival that.

Dr. Cushing: Yes these ingredients you gathered were to help make it, but for you to transform you still need what you wish to become.

Selene: I already know what to be. Kaa!

Kaa slithered to her on the table as Selene took out what look like a sterile collection cup.

Dr. Cushing: What are you...

Selene: I'm going to collect some of Kaa's venom.

Dr. Cushing: The venom? Selene you can't be serious, you expect to use his venom. The same kind you use to punish our own scouts?

Selene: I need it for the finishing touch. It'll be fine.

Before Selene could harvest some of Kaa's venom, a explosion from outside occurred as they felt the impact and the screaming alarm went off.

Dr. Cushing: What's going on? An attack?

Selene approached a crystal ball as the Scout Captain answers.

Selene: Captain, what's going on out there?

Scout Captain: The castle is under attack head witch.

Selene: How many are there? Who's attacking?

Scout Captain: A girl.

Selene: Uh...what do you mean a girl?

We cut to a group of scouts firing arrows and magic at the target, it was Christa who wielded her staff forming a shield to protect herself. The scouts brought in some of the abomitons as they fired their arm cannons at the shield. The blast seemed powerful but then they looked up and saw Christa in the air as she formed electricity around her. Christa fired lightning upon the scouts sending them flying through the halls and destroying the abomitoins. They all lie there hurt as she kept walking but then standing in her path was Warden Wrath.

Warden Wrath: So we meet at last little girl. Not sure if you know who I am, but I have quite a bit of history with the Owl Lady and your human friend. Oh yes, I am their greatest foe. I am the most powerful demon in all the Boiling Isles. I am Warden Wrath and you shall...

But Christa not at all fazed just formed a spell circle as a white light was igniting.

Warden Wrath: Uh oh.

Warden Wrath is hit and is sent flying into a wall with a painting of Emperor Belos and his head ends up breaking through the painting of Belos's head. He falls to the ground and groans with the portrait still stuck to his head. He looked and saw Christa approaching him with a serious look.

Warden Wrath: Wait, don't kill me please! I have a young son at home. I just wanted to be cool. I lied what I said I'm not as great and powerful as I claim to be. I got demoted for stealing everyone's lunches from the break room.

Christa: Where is Belos!?

Warden Wrath: AAAH! Throne room is down the hall, make two lefts and right. You can't miss it. Please spare me!

Christa forms another spell circle as Warden Wrath's body is now covered in thick plant vines tying him up. She leaves him but then is blocked by a large abomiton. Twice the size of the others one hand having an axe hand and the other an arm cannon. The head was different as it had a knights helmet with glowing green eyes. Behind it was Dr. Cushing controlling it with Selene standing by his side.

Dr. Cushing: I'm afraid this is as far as you go my dear. You've made a grave mistake intruding the home of our Emperor.

He controlled the abomiton and had it raise it's axe hand.

Dr. Cushing: Now go and crush her!

The abomiton raised down it's axe hand at Christa. She jumped out of the way and formed a large spell circle with her staff and shot a blast of fire at the abomiton. It stepped backwards and then fired magic projectiles from it's arm cannon. She stuck her staff down to the ground forming a stone wall to shield her. The abomiton formed its hand into a mace and stretched out to smash the shield, but missed Christa as she ran up to the abomiton with her staff as Howl's eyes were glowing white like her powers. She tapped it on the chest of the abomiton as it instantly blew it up. Dr. Cushing jumped down to the left as the destroyed abomiton came at him and barely had time to dodge.

Dr. Cushing: What power?

Selene: You all should stop relying on these walking hunks of junk and as for you girl, you will not enter the Emperor's throne room.

Christa: I took out all your friends, what makes you any different?

Selene: I'll show you.

Selene tapped her staff on the ground as a few spell circles formed on the ground. Venomous snakes rose out and lunged at Christa. She spread out her hands and water shout out at the snakes and froze them. Selene came at Christa and tried to hit her with her staff. She blocked it with her staff as the two struggled pushing one another.

Selene: Stand down little girl.

Christa: Not until I have chat with your boss.

Christa's body forms electricity around her body electrocuting Selene off of her. She took one of the potions from her waist and threw it to the ground creating smoke around the room. Christa looked around when coming to her left was a huge snake, appearing to be Selene's snake arm ability. Christa waved fire from her hand as it burned it away. Another snake arm came at her from her right as she kept blocking it with fire. She did it again from the
back but Christa once again blocked it. She then used her air magic and blew away the smoke but as she did Selene's right snake arm got Christa, constricting her and bring her to her face.

Selene: I have you now.

Selene continued to squeeze her. Christa looked up at Selene, she closed her eyes as her white aura forms around her body.

Selene: What?

Suddenly she let out a pulse wave of white magic as it hit both Selene and sent her to a wall. Selene yelled out as she held where her right arm used to be, showing it was obliterated by Christa's attack.

Selene: You. How dare you?

Christa: You're supposed to be the head witch of the Emperor's Coven? Pathetic.

Christa continued walking towards the throne room. She was at the front door and just behind it was her uncle waiting for her. She blasted the doors down and just accross her was Belos sitting on his throne.

Emperor Belos: Well, this is a surprise.

Christa: It's been quite sometime, Uncle.

Emperor Belos: ( stands up) So you finally remember me Euphemia.

Christa: I remember it all. I remember you invading my home, killed my people, my family!

Emperor Belos: You should know as a witch hunter I'm doing what I'm supposed to.

Christa: Even killing your own brother?

Emperor Belos: I didn't want it to come to that. But he left me no choice. He was a traitor. But I wanted to keep a part of him alive, that's why I made all those grimwalkers and Hunter.

Christa: You were going to use him as a sacrifice.

Emperor Belos: I have to fulfill my end of the bargain for the Master. I assume you came here alone.

Christa: This is our fight. As the current Holder of the Eye I have to fulfill my destiny and put an end to you. I won't lose another home and family. I'll kill you and Keizer before you can even use the draining spell on the Isles.

Emperor Belos: Really, you're here to kill me? You do know I am immortal.

Christa: Yeah, but you won't be when I destroy your master.

Emperor Belos: Oh you just don't understand. I worked too hard to get here. Gaining the trust of these witches, fooling them I can talk to their Titan, being their emperor and trying to study the use of the draining spell. All of this took me centuries. Well my patience is about to pay off and I won't let my own niece ruin it for me. It seems you need to be taught a lesson.

Belos stretched his arm turning into a tendril at Christa. She hit it away with her staff as it lit on fire. She waved her staff at him as a wall of fire was coming at Belos. He simply waved his staff to blow off the fire. He used his staff as it glows and it's power got hold of Christa levitating her. Belos threw her into the pillars of the room. After being thrown into the third pillar, Christa formed her fists into stone and punched down the pillar as it came down on Belos. He caught with the levitation power of his staff, but then an ice spike came from the ground and hit his hand knocking his staff down. He barely dodged it as the falling pillar cut him off from his staff. He looked around for Christa until he was shot in the back by lightning. She then formed a huge wave of water which washed up Belos and used her lightning attack to it the water which electrocutes Belos and drops him on the floor.

Keizer: Belos! Stop fooling around and get up!

Emperor Belos: ( to Christa) Seems someone isn't holding back.

Christa: Seems someone isn't as powerful as they claim to be.

Emperor Belos: Oh you have not yet seen my power.

A red and black aura formed around Belos's body as he shot a dark blast from his hands. Christa blocked the attack with a wall of vines. That wall over was cut down instantly by Belos's scythe hand. He swung it again across Christa's arm. She yelled out as she fell to her knees, holding her cut arm. Belos was about to finish her with his scythe hand when Christa threw a fireball with her good hand and burnt Belos's scythe hand forcing him to revert it back to normal. Christa quickly placed her hand back on her injured arm and using her powers of the Eye to heal herself.

Emperor Belos: I must say, your much more skilled than I thought.

Belos formed monstrous hands out of the floor grabbing Christa by her legs, her arms and one of them was on her neck strangling her. She was gasping for air as Belos approached her.

Emperor Belos: You know you're making this harder than it needs to be. Hand over the Eye and I will end this useless struggle.

Christa continued gasping, but then her eyes opened up now pure white as the white aura began forming around her body and even a massive white ball on her hand. The aura burned off the monstrous hands as she used the light ball to hit Belos directly in his face. He yelled out as he covered his face.

Christa got back up as she gazed at Belos. He uncovered his face showing his mask damaged with even one of the horns broken off. The mask began to crack and it broke in two, now showing Belo's face and letting his hair down.

Emperor Belos: Well, it was getting hard to breathe with that on. There you go using the Eye. Allow me to even that power.

The red and black aura from Belos began to grow larger and formed a large red and black whip from his hand and tried to hit Christa with it. She dodged the first attack and hid behind another pillar. Belos whipped right through it, cutting it clean as it collapsed exposing Christa. He tried to whip her again but this time she formed her own whip as the two of them locked onto each other. They were pulling onto one another until the two whips were becoming unstable and let out a bright flash. Belos shielded his eyes when suddenly Christa was flying at him with her with a white beam coming down at Belos. He jumped up dodging as he tried to uppercut her with a red and black glowing fist. She blocked the attack as the two were flying around the throne room, blasting one another and wrecking the whole room. Suddenly he appeared behind her and fired his red and black beam at her. Christa gets hit as she is sent down to the ground. She drops her staff as Belos lands in front of her and picks up her staff.

Emperor Belos: Very nice palisman you have. Actually I could use some palistrom essence.

Christa gasped and got up, as she threw an ice spike impaling through Belos's arm. Belos drops her staff as Howl comes to life.

Christa: Run Howl! Run!

Howl runs out of the throne and tries to escape the castle. As soon as he left Belos removed the ice out of his arm as he winches from the pain.

Emperor Belos: Why you...

Belos angrily tries to blast her as she jumps out of the way. Belos tries to fire his dark beam at her while Christa fires her white beam. The two beams clash as the two have a beam struggle. Christa was being pushed back a bit by Belos.

Christa: It's too much...I can't...

But then she was remembering Luz, Eda, King, Hunter and her friends. She remembered why she came here to begin with, to protect them. Christa's eyes opened up as she shouted out and her power rose up and pushed Belos's attack as it was coming at him. Belos is caught by the blast as the attack let out a bright light. Belos was on the ground, looking worn out. His curse was affecting him as he held his arm, but then he noticed he was near something. His staff which was hidden under some of the debris. He reached out to it but then turned and saw Christa approach her, her aura was still flowing as she had a light energy ball in her hand.

Christa: It's over Belos. You maybe immortal, but I can tell when your in no shape to keep fighting.

Emperor Belos: I may suffer from some limitations, but I haven't lost yet.

Christa began to feel a numbness on her feet. She looked down and gasped saw her legs were being turned to stone. Belos had reached his staff as he was using it to petrify her. Soon she found her arms freezing in place as the petrification spell has made it to her waist and was losing her magic. She was breathing heavily and was freaking out as Belos grinned at her as Selene and the others entered the room.

Selene: My lord! Are you alright?

Emperor Belos: I'm fine Selene. Everything is under control now. She's ours now. ( To Christa) Look at you Euphemia. You were so powerful up until now. Did you really think you could win against me?

Christa: I may die here, but your plan won't work.

Emperor Belos: And what makes you think that? Because of Raine's plan to switch themself with the Owl Lady?

Christa gasped in response.

Christa: How do you know about that?

Selene: Foolish girl. Kaa has been keeping an eye on them since their little stunt a couple months back. This is something I don't share with everyone, but Kaa is a master of stealth.

Kaa hisses as he showed his ability to camouflage.

Selene: You and the others made sure you weren't followed, but you couldn't even see your follower. I mean honestly I expected Raine to rebel again but never would I have thought Darius, Eberwolf and even Hipporit to be in on it too.

Christa: You knew about this for a while, then why didn't you attack us sooner?

Emperor Belos: What better way than to catch the rebels than to let them think they'll win only for them to fail.

Christa: No...

Emperor Belos: Selene have the scouts search for that loose palisman and bring him to me. Oh and do something about your...arm.

Selene: Yes my lord.

Selene leaves as the two are left alone. Once she was gone, Keizer appeared before the two.

Christa: Keizer.

Keizer: Euphemia, how ironic that I tried so hard to find you yet you decided to walk right up to my doorstep. Well done Belos. Now take the Eye and destroy it.

Emperor Belos: Yes Master.

Belos placed his hand near Christa's chest and tried to merge his hand into her to take the Eye, only for a light spark to shock him off of her.

Keizer: It seems Ginga unauthorized users away from it. Even in death he's persistent. Kill her Belos and rip it out of her.

Emperor Belos: Sorry Euphemia, you maybe my niece. But a half breed like you shouldn't exist. You should never have been born!

Belos turned his arm into a scythe and was about to kill Christa as she shut her eyes. But Belos didn't strike.

Keizer: What are you doing Belos? Do it now.

Belos was about to strike down her again but stopped. He saw behind Christa was Caleb's spirit staring at him.

Emperor Belos: Now is not the time. Get out of here now!

Caleb continued staring at him as Christa looked behind her, but she didn't see anything.

Emperor Belos: Are you trying to protect her?

Christa: Um who are you talking to?

Emperor Belos: I'm doing this whether you like it or not! Stop mocking me!

Belos was about to strike down at Christa but stopped when Caleb suddenly appeared in between the two, but of course Christa couldn't see her father.

Emperor Belos: Why do you keep doing this. Argh!

Belos held his arm as it was mutating due to his curse.

Keizer: You pathetic excuse for a witch hunter! You can't even kill one insect who is right in front of you!? Are you hesitating because she's related to you?

Emperor Belos: No master. I...I think we should keep her alive a bit longer. We still need Hunter for your body and I'm sure he and Luz will come for her if she was still alive.

Keizer: Hmmm, that is true.

Emperor Belos: Once we get what we need then I'll petrify her. She'll make a great trophy for your victory.

Keizer: And her last moments will be watching me succeed. Hahahaha! You truly know how to appease me Belos.

Emperor Belos: I promise you will get your body.

Keizer: I know you will. Then get the portal moved to the skull. I will be waiting for you there.

Keizer disappears leaving the two alone.

Emperor Belos: Congratulations Euphemia. You get a front row seat to witness the resurrection of Keizer.

Christa: You monster.

Emperor Belos: But don't worry, your friends will be joing you soon.

Christa tried to move but couldn't. She then broke down into tears knowing she failed.

Christa: ( sobs) Luz...I'm sorry.

We now cut to Selene who was back in her lab with her cauldron.

Selene: Kaa, bite here and give me some of your venom.

Kaa hisses in a hesitant tone.

Selene: Do it! This is my chance to finally surpass Lilith.

Kaa hisses in response.

Selene: I'm willing to take that chance. I need this look at me. My arm is gone but I can restore it. Now do it.

Kaa bites into the cup as some of his venom was dripping down.

Selene: Perfect.

Selene poured the venom into the cauldron as it lit up green once more.

Selene: This is it. The potion to grant me my new form.

She scooped some up with a ladle and poured it into a glass cup. She picked it up and looked at it.

Selene: Here it goes.

Selene began to drink the potion to which she started coughing.

Selene: Ugh, that is disgusting-AAAH!

Selene yelled out as the first thing she felt was her arm growing back but then she held her stomach as she was feeling pain.

Selene: What's...happening...ooh...

Now she couldn't feel her legs and fell to the ground. She continued grunting. Now she started screaming in agony as her body began to enlarge, tearing her clothes. The scene shifts to Kaa who watches the transformation with a fearful look and we see Selene's silhouette on the wall as she continues to transform.

Dr. Cushing: ( bursting in the room) What's going on here? Selene?

Dr. Cushing looked down and saw Selene's torn up dress on the floor. Then he looked in the shadows and saw something. It looked like a gorgon like with the torso of a woman but the lower body of snake, but the head had the hood of a cobra instead of snakes for hair. Dr. Cushing squinted his eyes and saw a familiar face.

Selene: What do you think Doctor?

Dr. Cushing: Selene? My Titan what have you done to yourself?

Selene: What I wanted most. To prove I am the better witch.
