Chapter 5: Italian restaurant, part 1.

"Damn, I'm hungry ..." El said.

After a few moments Kay's stomach rumbled.

"If I remember correctly, there is a kiosk at Hilda Breisgau Platz." She stated.

"But there they only accept euros or reichsmarks .. And we don't have them."

The dark-haired girl snorted disconsolately and leaned back against a lamppost.

"Damn..."

"I can offer you something! I know an excellent restaurant, an Italian restaurant! " Sheska suddenly stated.

Kay turned to look at her hopefully.

"Would you really do that?"

"You are Hilda's guests, and you have saved Eva. A double reason to do it! " She replied, winking at her.

"We are grateful to you!" El exclaimed, bowing.

"And I am grateful to you for your heroic deed ... Come on, I'll take you by car!"

A few minutes later they were on their way, headed for their destination.

"What is the name of the restaurant?" El asked.

"The Angolo Verde. It is managed by the Rossi couple. "

"Italians?"

"Exactly, more precisely from Milan."

"Well, better…. I love Italian cuisine! "

"Then that's the place for you! You, instead? "

"I prefer American cuisine ..." Kay replied.

Sheska giggled.

"Why, does it exist?"

Although irritated by that jab, Kay preferred not to argue.

The angolo verde restaurant was a three-story building painted yellow. On the facade was a yellow sign in green letters, with the name of the restaurant written on it.

"Here we are." Sheska announced, parking the car.

She got out, imitated by Kay and El. The two girls looked around: other cars were parked in the parking lot, mainly German, like a BMW 4 series and a Polo GTI. However, they also noticed a couple of foreign cars, such as the Renault Clio IV (French) and the Volvo S90 (Swedish).

"Come on, let's go inside. I hope we will find a free table ... Usually this place is crowded. " The brunette invited them.

Upon entering the entrance, they found themselves in a large room that housed square-shaped tables furnished with white and blue polka dot tablecloths, where customers sat. On the walls were hung some photographs depicting Italian cities or monuments, such as the Colosseum in Rome, the cathedral of Milan or the cathedral of Santa Maria in Florence. A few waiters and waitresses wandered around the tables, carrying plates or taking customer orders. One of them approached them saying:

"Welcome! Would you like a table? "

Salò!

Kay thought, surprised.

"Yes, for the three of us." Sheska answered her.

"Very well ... Follow me."

She led them to an empty table, making them sit down. The two girls went through the menus, reading them.

"What do you wish?"

"Saffron risotto." Kay answered.

"I pumpkin tortelli!" El replied.

"For me, Milanese minestrone."

"Milanese risotto, Milanese soup and pumpkin tortelli…" Salò repeated, as she listed their orders on a notepad.

"I'm going to the kitchen to inform the chefs!"

Having said that she turned her heels and walked away.

Kay snorted.

"So, tell me a little about you! Your real names? " Sheska asked.

"Scarlett Johnson." Kay replied.

"Glo-Gloria Navarro!" Was El's reply.

"Where do you come from?"

"London."

"Madrid."

"Ah, I understand ... What school do you attend?"

"The El Alamein."

"The Roncesvalles."

Hearing the middle name Sheska became perplexed.

"Roncesvalles? But Spain is represented by the Invincible Armada! "

"It's a minor school!" El hastened to point out.

"Like the Ooarai in Japan!" Kay helped her.

"Oo .. What?"

"The Ooarai, winner of the last sensha-do tournament."

Sheska was increasingly suspicious.

"The last Japanese tournament was won by Pravda, and I have never heard of this Orai or whatever it is called."

Ah, that's right… In this period the 63rd tournament has not yet taken place!

Kay thought, mentally calling herself stupid.

"However it is a Japanese minor school."

"And you know that school why ...?"

"I've been following the Japanese championship for some time."

Increasingly suspicious, Sheska reached for her smartphone, connecting to the internet. After a few seconds she said:

"It says here that Ooarai doesn't have a sensha-do team."

Kay was about to reply but at that moment Salò returned with a tray containing three plates in his hand, which she placed in front of them.

"Here you go!"

"Thanks, Salò." Sheska said.

"It's my work! Now sorry, but I have to serve other customers! "

She started to leave, but Sheska said to her: "Wait!"

"What?"

"Did you notice the sky today?"

"Yup. It is clear. "

"You say? I noticed a couple of clouds on the horizon. Two big clouds. "

"Storm clouds?"

"For now they seem harmless to me. But if I were you I would warn those responsible. "

"Count on it. By the way, are they your friends? "

"This is Scarlett Johnson and Gloria Navarro. They saved Eva's life. "

"I do not understand. "

"Two Kursk spies attempted to break into Himmler's office. Discovered, they stole a car and ran away. We caught them, but they nearly hit Eva."

"And they saved her, right?"

"Exact. You now wish to join the Panzerfahren school and team. "

"I see… Well, given their act of heroism they will no doubt be welcome. Has the school board already given the ok? "

"Yup. Unanimously. "

"Very well ... By the way, where were the clouds you saw?"

"One to the southeast, the other to the southwest."

"I understand ... I sincerely hope they are just passing clouds."

Having said that she walked away.

Kay was nervous. In her heart she suspected that Sheska had used some sort of coded language, and that the two storm clouds were actually her and El.

I hope I'm wrong ...

She think.

"Come on, let's start eating!" Sheska said.

El and Kay nodded, then began to eat.
