Chapter Twenty-Three
Summer Continues
(Date Nights)
A/N – Quite a beginning to the summer for sure. As always the family and staff are fully committed to each other and events like this rodeo are a perfect example of that unified mission. This drive is the reason the organization will continue to grow and prosper, especially with each of them as individual contributors. This is "the" place to work and requests to become a part of this team are continuous. Again, I continue to try to show how the Borden kids and now their special friends are maturing and becoming more a part of the family legacy. Even with challenges they will continue to prosper and grow. Amy and Ty are seeing everything evolve right before their eyes. Although this story is about the next generation, I can assure you their story will continue on. As we move through the summer, the next big step is the Olympics. Everyone is confident that Annie is ready and although she is nervous, she feels the same. Look for some unexpected support coming her way as well the expected from family and friends. I also hope to spend some time with all of our couples as well including some of the other characters. Lyndy and Wyatt's journey is just beginning but I can assure you that it will be filled with love, fun, challenges and accomplishments. Not sure I may get to the Olympics yet as I plan to devote a whole chapter to that, but we shall see. As always, my pen guides the way. Either way it should be a lot of fun. Surprise, I would love to hear from more of you on how this story is going. I am enjoying it and I hope you are to. Mature Content – Enjoy!
RRR (Reader Review Responses) MTaiawa – Guest #1 what a great idea and I wish I would have used music from Lyndy Barlett – with the insertion of Amy and Lyndy singing in the Documentary. I need to find a way to fit that in some where for sure. Guest #2 thanks for your comment, "Well written once again love the story thank you."
Annie opened her eyes as the sun was still not breaking the horizon. Recently, she had been waking up early as her days were almost completely consumed with preparation for the Olympics, which was a little over a week away and she would be leaving with her team in a couple of days. She blinked a few more times before her eyes cleared and she saw it looked like it would be a beautiful day. She felt a shuffle behind her as her smile grew. Jeremy laid peacefully but her movement caused him to roll over toward her. Instinctively his arm reached around her hugging her while still asleep. She nestled against him feeling his warmth and strong heartbeat. He had been staying with her as the Olympics drew near, helping her with her training, providing moral support and just spending as much time as he could with her. She would be leaving almost a week before he would see her again and he wanted to make sure he was prepared for the separation. Every day she felt so happy that she had such a loving and caring boyfriend. His support and love were constant and complete. She felt his lips on her neck and he groaned into her ear, "Good morning, my love." She rolled over to hug him and give him a deep passionate kiss. She loved him and at this moment, that was all that mattered. They carried on their good morning as the heat between them grew. Breathing heavily she giggled, "What last night wasn't enough for you?" He smiled, "Annie, I could love you 24 hours a day." She laughed and kissed him again poking his ribs and feeling his excitement rise. "Well, we have to get ready. After chores, I have to get set up for my final debrief. I can't believe Georgie and mom replicated the Olympic course in the main pen for me to practice. Theo has been great and Wyatt checks him over each and every day. He loves the pampering and so do I, but we need to get up. I hope his trip is going Ok" He smiled looking down as she sighed reaching down, "I don't mean that kind of up silly boy, although it sure is tempting. Let's sneak into the shower and see what happens. I am sure no one else is up yet." She batted her eyes as they grabbed clothes and headed into the main bathroom. They spent a little more time that usual playing in the shower making sure each of them were cleaned thoroughly. They turned the water off and helped each other dress as they each regretted not staying in bed a little while longer. They cleaned up and picked up their pajamas. Their smiles were broad as they opened the door to sneak back to their room. Annie had her head down and almost immediately bumped into someone. She stepped back and immediately turned the brightest shade of red possible. Jeremy recovered first, "Good morning Dr. Borden." Annie finally gathered herself and went to hug her dad, "Good morning daddy." Ty smiled, remembering all the times that he and Amy had snuck around to be alone with each other. "So big day today, so we will see you downstairs for breakfast." They each smiled meekly and walked quickly int their room. As soon as the door shut she sighed, "We need to get downstairs quickly." As they came down, Addie and Maddie were helping their father with breakfast. Annie asked, "Where is mom?" Addie spoke up, "She went over with Lyndy and Wyatt to check on some things in the barn." They were quiet for a minute as Addie continued, "Well you too look really clean this morning." Maddie turned her head and giggled as Ty gave them a stern look. Addie shrugged her shoulders, "Well they do." Amy was the last come back after their time visiting a problem horse and noticed the giggling, "Did I miss something?" JT shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, Addie told Annie and Jeremy that they looked clean and dad gave them a dirty look. I just don't get girls sometimes?" Amy got an, I'll tell you later look from Ty and with Wyatt, went over the issue with the horse. Wyatt spoke up, "I talked to the ranch hand, Theo is doing great. He said sure had a lot of energy this morning, I am sure he knows what is coming up for him." Annie and everyone else smiled happily as the report was good. Amy spoke up, "Annie when you get there you need to be patient even though he is energetic. Control is important as we get close. Also, we are lucky he is being trailered to LA and not flown there." Annie smiled, "I am so happy one of our ranch hands offered to travel with him. Theo really likes him." Ty looked at Amy and spoke, "Well I am glad it has worked out. Where will he sleep?" She smiled, "Well the trailers they are using have sleeping bunks and he also has family down there he will stay with during the games. And he will come back with him too." Amy smiled, "We gave him one of the general credit cards to use and I think that bonus will also be nice." They all agreed as Lyndy spoke up, "Annie we have some more prep work to do, let's roll!"
(A few weeks back in time) The place was still buzzing from the Special kids Rodeo. It wasn't until the end of the week that the last participant and their family went back home. They wanted to see the whole operation and Ellory was certain they were considering a fairly substantial donation. But the best thing about the outflow of the event was the pride that everyone on staff had with the results and the happy kids as well as the accolades coming in from all around Canada. Maddie was smiling constantly and everyone congratulated her on the success of the rodeo and her diligence in making sure everything went as planned. Amy and Ty made sure she had some down time, especially with Ricky as they saw their bond growing, which they were happy about. It seemed he was around a lot more and she continued to ask for him to stay over, with JT of course, which they didn't mind at all. Ricky was with her at the Rehoming center one day and walked up behind her, giving her a hug, "Hey beautiful, how about we go on a date Friday?" She smiled coyly, turning around to kiss him "That would be nice." Ellory ribbed them a bit for making out but heard the discussion. When she had a moment she called Amy with an idea. Maddie was excited as she got ready for her date. Ricky had his license and their parents decided that they could go out but had to stay in town. Dinner at the nice Italian restaurant and a movie were on tap and her sisters were helping her get ready. Amy walked by her room and heard her girls giggling. It warmed her heart to hear them together having so much fun and she couldn't help but lightly knock on the door. Maddie spoke up, "Come on in mom." She opened the door and saw a bunch of outfits laid out as Annie and Lyndy worked on her hair and makeup. As with all the Borden girls beauty was not the issue but they all felt that tonight needed to be special so they were helping her get ready. Maddie spun around, "Well mom, what do you think? She smiled tearily, "Well none of you need a lot of help being beautiful but you look amazing." Addie spoke up, "Mom we are going over her outfit selection. This one is too formal, this one too boring and this one, well dad would not approve for sure. So, what do you think?" Amy looked things over and picked up a nice summer dress that was bright but not too much. "I like this one. It is young and fun and I think Ricky will love it. I have a nice pair of low cut white dress boots that will go with it perfectly. Us cowgirls need to keep up our image." They all agreed and Maddie got dressed as Amy went to get the boots. When she was done she spun around for the Borden ladies as the smiled and giggled. Lyndy smirked, "He is going to pass out when he sees you." Amy and Lyndy headed downstairs to let the men know that Maddie was coming down. Ty and Amy sat on the couch with Wyatt and Lyndy while JT was on Wyatt's lap as she came down the steps preceded by her twin sisters. They stepped aside as she came to the last step. Ty was choked up and Wyatt squeezed Lyndy's arm. JT smiled and spoke up, "Man Ricky is toast." They all laughed and were interrupted as there was a knock on the door. JT jumped up and went to get Ricky. They were talking as he entered the living room with a bouquet of flowers and a single white rose. He was stopped in his tracks as he saw Maddie, unable to speak. JT poked him, "Say something man." Ricky smiled shyly, "Maddie, you look great, I mean really great. Oh, Mrs. Borden, these are for you and Maddie this rose is yours. I am glad it matches your outfit, it's so beautiful." Addie clapped, "Big brownie points Richard, giving mom flowers." Wyatt broke the uneasiness and said proudly, "Yea reminds me of how smooth I am with the Borden ladies." After Lyndy poked his ribs the twins joined in. Maddie smiled and spoke softly, "Well we need to get going as Ty walked over to the and handed an envelope over to Ricky. "You guys, tonight is on us and before you say anything it was agreed on by everyone. Maddie you did an amazing job and Ricky, you were always by your side, have fun." Maddie hugged him and as she went to hug her mom and sisters, Ricky shook Ty's hand firmly, "Thank you sir." They headed out for a fun evening together.
Over the weekend, it was not common to see Ricky and Maddie together most of the time arm in arm. Addie and Annie couldn't help but notice and made a decision to do something special with their men. Jeremy could drive since, although Desi was improving quickly driving was still not a thing he could do and to be honest, Addie knew he was a little scared of doing it. They were having picnic lunch with them today after Annie's session and the work they had to do with the Llamas. The girls prepared a picnic lunch in the morning, with their mom's help and were going to do it after taking care of the Llamas. They decided to have it at the old jumping course that their dad had built for their mom long ago. Lyndy and Wyatt agreed to set things up for them. As the four of them finished with the Llamas they were joined by Buster and Billie who seemed to be with the Llamas a lot. They had the run of the place and had become a fixture at the ranch. Addie smiled, "Jeremy, do you have your keys, we have a surprise for you guys." He smiled and looked at Desi a little confused, "I thought we were going back to the main barn to have some lunch?" Annie now smiled, "Well we need to make sure we keep up with our younger sister so we have a lunch double date planned. Let's hop in and we will tell you where." After they hugged their girls and kissed their cheeks, they opened the doors and everyone hopped in. Addie noted that Desi hesitated when they got in, not wanting to sit in front or on the driver's side so she slid in and scooted over to the left side of the back when he came in, patting his seat. She moved over close and he smiled in relief whispering, "Thank you." In the front, Annie grabbed Jeremy's hand, understanding that their friend still needed time. Addie ordered direction from the back, "Let's roll, I will be your GPS." As they pulled up the two men looked at their girlfriends. It had been a while but they each knew where they were. They also saw a couple of tables set up, one with covered up food and the other with two chairs and a beautifully set table. They helped Annie and Addie out and hugged them again, holding their hands looking over the picnic feast. Annie smiled, "Do you guys like it?" Desi took a breath, "This is perfect you guys, but why do we deserve it?. Jeremy you have been my number one supporter as I get ready for the Olympics and without you, I could never had done it." I just wish you could be there the whole time but that may be a problem as I will lose focus on what I need to do. You are kind of a distraction." He laughed and tickled her side. Making sure he didn't feel left out Addie spoke up choking up a bit. "Des, when you were hurt, I thought almost died with worry and concern. But look at you now, almost back 100% and doing so well. The entire family is so happy and grateful that you are feeling better." She blushed, ""I know I am for sure." Annie laughed, "Kind of gross sis, but she is right Desi, you have been amazing. Now we know it is weird that we made this a double date but you know us, we kind of mesh in more ways than most, it's a twin thing. We just thought it would be cool to have it here because it means so much to our family and especially our mom and dad. Jer, we may go on a walk later so we can make out and let these two alone for a bit, but we just need to tell you that we love you guys very much." They sat down and opened up lunch, which was amazing and talked. The girls talked about the story around the course and why their dad had built it. Annie laughed, "Up till them my mom thought my dad was kind of a jerk but after she realized he wasn't and so their love story began. It's so romantic to think that they were so young but still knew that they would be together forever." They all sat silently as Desi then asked, "Who takes care of it, it looks like it is in great shape." Well, mainly Lyndy and Wyatt as they too have had a few romantic dates up here. Sometimes when we used to go on famliy rides, we would stop by and jump the course but not so much lately, I do know that my mom, Katie and Georgie come up here every once in a while and jump it." Addie smiled at her and giggled, "But we have heard that ever so often my mom and dad sneak up here to have some time together. It has and will always be a special place for them." Jeremy smiled and held Annies hand, "I just hope that we can be like them, their love for each other is like a family legend, especially with everything they had to go through." Annie leaned into him and smiled as Desi spoke up, "I agree, they are so amazing, caring, supportive and loving people. It is pretty special to know them and you two because you are all the same." Now it was time for Addie to lean into her boyfriend. It was time to be alone, so Jeremy and Annie went for a walk as Desi still was a little uneasy in uneven grassy areas. After about an hour, and a lot of kissing and touching they got back together, packed up and headed home. It was a perfect double date, but they all agreed that a next date would be needed soon for each of them individually. As they pulled up to the Ranch, Amy saw them and came over. She laughed, "Well by the looks on your faces it seems all went well. How is my course doing?" Desi smiled, "It looks amazing Mrs. Borden, that Dr. Borden is quite a catch." Amy blushed, "He sure is."
It was two weeks before Annie had to leave for the Olympics and shortly after that the family would be heading down as well. Jeremy was planning to go with the Borden's as well as Katie, Georgie and Mallory, who would be going to. Annie really wanted her GG to come and although he really wanted to he knew the trip would be too hard. He surprised Annie one day when he and Lisa pulled up in their personal golf cart that was made just for them with the modifications he needed. Annie broke into a huge grin and jogged over to greet them. After a hug for Lisa she sat close to her GG, "GG, thank you for coming and I understand why you can't come and watch me. You will be in my thoughts and I hope I make you proud." Everyone gave them some space as he smiled and pulled her in for a big hug, whispering into her ear, "Sweetie, you and all of my family make me proud. Lisa and I will be watching every minute of your competition and are sure you will do well. But remember to have fun. This experience will be one you never forget. I love you so much." She melted into his embrace never wanting to let him go as the others watched from afar teary eyed. He pulled back and said something that made her laugh as she headed to start her session. Everyone watched as she glided over the jumps and through the course effortlessly. Theo held his head high as he moved and everyone could see how happy he was. As they watched Jack was surprised when JT and Shawna came to sit with him. He smiled when his little buddy hugged him saying hello. He pulled in Shawna as well and she blushed as she always liked his hugs. He laughed, "So what are you two up to?" While still watching his sister he went over everything that had did so far today, time with the Llamas, the Day Care and some time helping Ellory and her team. He smiled tickling Shawna, "Wow, you too have been busy." She blushed and whispered into his ear, "We always have a lot to do, and it is really fun doing it with JT." He whispered back, "He is a very nice young man for sure. I think he gets it from his GG." She giggled and kissed his cheek. Wyatt was watching as well as he did a pre check and would do a post check on Theo as he always did. He got Lyndy's attention and called her over. He whispered in her ear, "Look at Jack with the two of them, they sure are getting close. You know, I was thinking." Lyndy rolled her eyes, "Oh, Oh this should be good." He kissed her forehead, "I know they love to be together, but what about you and I going on a double date with them. We can go to Maggie's and maybe see a movie they like. That would be good right?" She smiled up at him quickly kissing him, "You Mr. Miller are amazing and that is a great idea and will be fun. You know they always see all of us going on dates and I bet they will really enjoy it." They agreed that they would ask them after dinner that night. They following night, the four of them got ready and headed out for their double date. When the girls came out Wyatt smiled as he saw JTs eyes light up, "Shawna you look beautiful, here is a rose for you." Everyone smiled as he handed it to her lightly kissing her cheek which was received with a smile and a deep red blush." She whispered, "You look very handsome as well." Lyndy smiled at Wyatt as they both knew this was a good idea. They got to Maggie's for an early dinner as the movie started at 7pm. As they sat and enjoyed their food, Lyndy couldn't help but notice how much attention JT was giving Shawna. She held her seat and sat close next to her, glancing over a lot. Their conversation was light and JT complimented her several times about how good she was getting with the horse classes the younger group was getting two times a week. She blushed a lot and would sneak glances at as well. Shawna seemed happy and talked freely, more than either of them had heard from her in the past. Wyatt whispered into Lyndy's ear when the two youngsters were talking, "When she talks I have never seen JT so quiet, giving her his full attention. It is pretty cool." JT spoke up, "You two aren't talking about us are you?" Lyndy laughed, "No, only how amazing you two are together and how beautiful Shawna looks tonight." JT looked down and smiled, "I know she does." They finished up and walked to the theater finding seats right in the middle. Wyatt and JT went to get some popcorn and drinks and the two girls waited. Shawna whispered to Lyndy, "Thanks for doing this. JT watches how much his older sisters are in love and is really happy about it. I really, really like him and I know we are very young but he is very important to me and it's like I always want to be around him and your family. I love my mom and dad, big brother and little sister but it is different. I just hope he feels the same, sometimes it gets a little weird" Lyndy smiled, "I know the feeling, just be patient. Boys can be a little dense sometimes but I guarantee you he cares for you just as much." She smiled as they came back with the goodies. The girls sat in the middle and the boys on the end. Wyatt leaned over and laughed, "Now you two behave or we will have to sit between you." JT scoffed, "Same goes for you lover boy." They all laughed as the lights dimmed and the movie began. As they pulled up to Shawna's house Lyndy smiled as she saw the two youngsters asleep leaning on each other. She whispered, "look at that, it is so cute." Wyatt gently picked Shawna up and carried her to the door as Mallory and Doug opened it. She laughed, "Looks like you wore her out, how was it?" Lyndy smiled, "We sure did. JT is out cold in the car." JT came up behind them rubbing his eyes and leaned into Lyndy, "We had a really good time." They said their goodbyes but before they left JT asked Mallory to tell Shawna good night for him and that he would see her tomorrow. Lyndy stayed back for the second as Mallory whispered, "Looks like true love. What is with you Bordens?" Lyndy smiled warmly giving her a hug and realizing that she was right.
The clock was ticking as the Olympics were closing in. Everyone was so busy that they hardly realized it. Annie was in her routine with training but also working with some horses. Georgie told her it was a good diversion to not only focus on the upcoming event but to do normal work. She believed it helped her keep the focus she needed but also have some fun as well as giving Theo the rest he needed. The rest of the family was buzzing along with work, play and family time also. Maddie was still on a bit of a high from her magical date with Ricky and the twins warmly remembered their picnic and the wonderful time they had. JT and Shawna were inseparable, always tooling around on his gator and helping everywhere they could. Many times they were caught holding hands and being close, whispering to each other. After dinner one night, Lyndy and Wyatt went for a walk to spend some time alone. Excpet for at night when they went to bed they had both been extremely busy. They sat on one of the benches looking out at the wildies roaming on the property. Lyndy leaned into him, "I am exhausted, we are so busy." He smiled in agreement as they sat quietly. He finally spoke softly, "You know your sisters and little brother have been out on dates, we need one too." She smiled and looked into his eyes, "I accept but I get to arrange everything." He agreed and they headed back to the house to get some sleep. The next morning, he woke and noticed the bed next to him was empty but he saw a note. It simply said, "Be ready by three and pack and overnight bag." He wondered what she was up to and although he tried he barely saw her during the day as he was at the Rehoming Center or she was at the ranch. It was Friday and everyone was rushing to get all the work done as he realized it was just before three. He hopped in the truck and headed to the ranch house to see Lyndy standing next to an overnight bag, a cooler and a basket of what looked like was food. She walked up and kissed her and she grabbed his keys and demanded, "Load this stuff up, hop in and put this over your eyes." He wasn't able to respond but did hear the girls laughing in the background. The ride was a couple of hours so Wyatt had no idea where they were going. He was a little excited about her demeanor and hoped that the results of this would be what he hoped for. After a few bumps they came to a stop and without a word she got out and after a few minutes opened his door an grabbed his shoulder, positioning him that way she wanted. She whispered in his ear while slipping the blindfold off, "We are here." He squinted as he adjusted to the late afternoon sun and smiled, "The fishing cabin." She laughed, "Welcome to our date, let's unpack." He turned around and grabbed her kissing her passionately taking her breath away. His thoughts went elsewhere as he continued and much to his delight, she joined in. She gasped as he swooped her up and carried her into the cabin. The undressed each other quickly tossing their clothes all over the place. He managed to place a foil packet on the nightstand as they began to ravage each other pleasuring their lover with passion and hunger. Wyatt's lips latched onto her taught breast and his fingers delved into her core. She returned planting her lips on his neck, definitely leaving a mark and using her hand to pleasure his rock hard manhood. They were frantic in their foreplay and after a while they knew it was time. She helped him with his condom, laid on her back and opened herself to him biting her lip. He used his lips to prepare her and gently entered his fiancé and soon to be wife. Their lovemaking was perfect as they made sure their partner was satisfied and content. After over an hour, they collapsed on the bed, breathing heavily. Finally Wyatt laughed, "Now this is what I call a date." She rolled over and giggled, "I agree, but I am starving so let's unpack, eat something and go for a moonlight walk. I think we have some more loving to do." He looked at her, "Should we get dressed first?" She looked at him smiling, "Maybe for the walk." Their night and next day went very well. A late night walk ended with a night of love and after a breakfast a morning walk ended in a little skinny dipping and play. They even got some fishing in so after lunch of the fish they caught, they headed home and back to reality. As they pulled up before they got out she pulled him in for a hug, "I love you and can't wait to be your wife." He gazed into her beautiful blue eyes, "Lyndy Borden, you are my life and my love and I can't wait to be your husband." They kissed deeply for a little longer than expected and were interrupted by a knock on the window. A frustrated Addie barked, "Really, weren't you guys together for like 24 hours already? Who do you think you are, mom and dad." They leaned into each other blushing as Lyndy looked at her sister with piercing eyes tucked into her fiancé chest, "Jealous much." Addie sighed, "Well the horse you were working with is having issues, can you come look at him, whenever you are done." She walked away and Wyatt kissed her forehead, "I had fun, thank you. Let me get all of our stuff so you can check on the horse." She smiled and gave him one last kiss and headed to the barn.
After Lyndy took care of the horse the family joined together for dinner. The talk was of the day and as well as Lyndy and Wyatt's overnight date. But the main focus was the upcoming Olympic experience for Annie and the family which was getting closer and closer. Annie would be going with the team and coaches as the horses would already be there before they arrived. Annie was again so grateful for the ranch hand who had volunteered to travel with Theo on the transport and had made sure he spent a lot of time with them over the last few weeks. He did have an ulterior motive as he was going to stay with some relatives, but the opportunity for Theo to have a familiar face with him was a great sense of relief for her. Amy smiled, "Well like dad and I said we will be giving him a nice bonus and he will be paid for his time back and forth for sure. It is still very nice he made the offer and I feel it will really help Theo with the long journey and unfamiliar surroundings. I can only imagine how happy he will be when you get there and see him." Lyndy laughed, "I know he is one lucky horse for sure. So Annie what's up with Jeremy, did he figure out his plans yet?" She smiled brightly, "Well, he is going to come a couple of days after me and go back with you guys. And mom don't worry, he is going to stay with the ranch hand's family so no hotel room is needed. It will be fun having him there for support." As she blushed, Addie smirked, "Yea support, that is a good word for it." Annie smacked her arm and Amy gave her twin sister a look." JT leaned into Wyatt putting his fingers in the air, "I guess they will also spend some time together." Ty heard him and spoke up, "Well Annie that is good news for sure, but you understand that you need to be focused." She looked at him sternly, "Dad, I know what I have to do but he has been there for me and I really need him by my side." The room got a little quiet as Maddie spoke up, "Well that is that." They all laughed and continued their meal and once finished, the kids went on their separate ways. Amy and Ty sat on the porch having some tea and just being together. The last few weeks had been beyond hectic after the rodeo and preparing for their time away. She leaned into him and sighed, "I am so tired, there has been so much to do lately. I am really looking forward to getting the three new trainers up and running and watching Lyndy get more involved with the horses has been great. Georgie and Katie are amazing and I know that soon I can cut back, spend time with the more challenging horses and keep an eye on the entire group. Annie told me that after the Olympics she want to continue to build her skills." They sat for a while when Ty spoke up, "You know are kids have all been going on dates, even JT. It is time for us to." He pulled back and smiled at the love of his life, "Mrs. Borden, would you like to go on a date with me?" She responded bashfully, "Well Dr. Borden, that is kind of forward but I guess we could. I just hope you don't think I am an easy catch. A definite amount of wooing will be required." He smiled, "Prepare to be wooed. Tell the kids they are on their own for dinner tomorrow night and be ready to leave at 5:00pm. We will be using old blue and I will take care of everything else." She smiled and leaned into him, "I can't wait."
Amy was a little unfocused the next day and many of the others noted. She confided with Mallory that Ty had asked her out on a date and of course by the time the day got underway most people knew already. Georgie laughed as she was trying to get a very difficult horse to settle, "Amy, you need to get your head out of the clouds. I mean you have been on a million dates with Ty, what is up with this one?" She blushed and pulled back from the horse, "I don't know, I guess it was the way he asked, like we were younger and finding our way. Something about his voice and the look in his eyes just felt…nice." Lyndy came over and joined in, "Give it up Georgie, she is useless today, look at her eyes. She is in love." Amy smirked, "Yes I am but I have a horse to settle first." After regaining her focus, within a half hour the horse was settled and she achieved join up. Lyndy was going to take the horse from there and grabbed his bridal to take him back to her pen. She smiled when she saw Ty coming her way and he looked over whispering, "5:00." Ty seemed in a great mood all day and many ribbed him about the big date. He saw Addie and pulled her over, "Hey sweetie, I need you to look over Old Blue and make sure she is ready to go, we are taking her on our date tonight. Also will you ask Lou to have Maggie's get a picnic dinner ready to us and have it delivered to the house before 5?" She smiled, "What do you have up your sleeve Daddy?" He blushed a little, "It's just a date." Amy and Ty went on with their day and made sure they got home in time to get ready. Ty mentioned casual clothes so at 5:00 they came down to the porch and Old Blue sat along the fence all cleaned up and shiny. In the back were a bunch of blankets, pillows with a basket and cooler with food and drink in it. The kids and a few others stood and watched as Amy took Ty's arm and he opened the driver's door. Before she jumped in she looked at the gathered crowd, "It's just a date." They headed out as everyone smiled warmly watching them leave sitting close in the cab of the truck that mean so much to them both. They drove in silence and soon Amy knew where they were going, the ridge. She gasp when she realize it and leaned into him kissing his neck, "I love this place." They hopped out and set up the bed of the truck so they could enjoy their dinner. Ty even had a bouquet of flowers set up as Amy giggled, "Nice touch Dr. Borden, what are your intentions?" He smiled, "Well enjoy our dinner, sit and talk and then who knows." She immediately remembered that in the past their trips to the ridge ended in some serious love making. She giggled, "Yep, who knows." They finished, cleaned up and after a nice walk where they talked they made it back to the truck, just in time for some star gazing. It was a warm night but Amy shook a little so they covered themselves with the many blankets they had. Amy leaned on him as they snuggled and whispered, "I remember that when we used to come here we would make love. We were so young and still learning about each other but it sure was fun." He pulled her up to meet his face, "Well, I won't lie, I wouldn't mind seeing how much we have learned. I see you have an easy access top on so if I moved my hand this way." His hand went up her top and cradled her breast. She moaned and pulled her head back whispering, "That's a good start." Like a switch, they began to kiss each other passionately rekindling the love they shared many times in the back of Old Blue. Their clothes were discarded easily and their lips and hands explored each other delivering a passion that was one of complete selflessness and caring. Their moans were a little louder than usual since they were outside and on their own. Ty's fingers entered her core and she screamed his name out in pleasure reaching an orgasmic climax. She returned the pleasure with her lips and tongue as she easily moved all over his body. When they reached the area she was focusing on he moaned her name out loudly as his pleasure escalated. Without delay she laid back and opened herself to him and he entered her with love. The made love slowly and completely and a while later each reach a mutual climax. Amy again yelled out his name several times and he returned with calling her out as well. They collapsed in the heat of love, breathing heavily, attempting to gather themselves. Tightly wrapped in the blankets, they held each other. Amy was shivering so Ty pulled her in tightly whispering, "Are you ok, why are you shivering?" She smiled and looked into the emerald eyes she loved so dearly. "I am not cold, just madly in love with a man in an old blue truck." They laid there for a while and Ty laughed, "So I think we have definitely learned a lot about each other." The only response was a sigh and a content wife. After an hour or so they got dressed and cleaned up the back of the truck. They drove home silently realizing it was almost 11:00. They snuck in and headed to their room. Lyndy caught them in the hall, "So kids, kind of late aren't we, did you have fun on your date." Amy smiled and gave her a hug, "We sure did, your father is quite the romantic." Lyndy smiled and hugged her dad saying good night. She felt all warm inside seeing how much her parents loved each other.
It was the week that Annie was leaving for the Olympics in Los Angelas. First thing Monday along with Jeremy and the ranch hand volunteer, she took Theo to Calgary to meet the transport that would have all the horses from Alberta. There would be six horses from the province heading down and Theo seemed a little anxious looking around a lot. Annie was so happy when the volunteer ranch hand comforted him as Annie said her farewell and whispered to him that she would see him soon. As the transport left she leaned into Jeremy as a tear came to her eye. He smiled, "Don't worry babe, you will see him soon." They hopped in his truck and headed home after picking up a light lunch in Calgary. There was a lot going on at the ranch and they needed to get back as soon as they could. As they pulled up they marveled at all the activity going on. Since the Documentary business had continued to spike and everyone was busy, especially the training team. As they hopped out, Mallory approached them frantically, "Finally, Annie you need to go see Katie, there is a horse for you to look at and Jeremy, they need you at the Rehoming Center, they got a huge load of horses in and they need all the help they can get. They kissed quickly and headed off as Mallory hurriedly headed on to someone else. The vet team was also very busy, not only with incoming client horse evaluations but with several pending surgeries. Plus, Cass and Steven were on their way to the Rehoming Center to look over the 15 horses that had just arrived. Ty and Wyatt were handling incoming evaluations when Amy and Lyndy approached them. After greetings and hugs, Lyndy spoke up, "Hey, Annie is kind of bummed since Theo had to leave. Mom and I think we should have a farewell and good luck party for her. Then the people that aren't going can wish her well, especially GG. I also heard that Grandpa Max is coming in today. What do you think?" Ty smiled, "Maybe just an laid back open house so people can drop by rather than make it a big party." Amy agreed, "That sounds perfect, I will get with Lou, Maddie and Mallory to set it up. She leaves Saturday morning so let's say 4:00 on Friday?" They all agreed, kissed and Amy got on her phone as she walked away. The day continued and well after dinner time the family made it back to the house, exhausted. Luckily, Addie had thought ahead and had Lou send some food from Maggie's, so they ate talking about the day. Even JT was exhausted as he helped as well with the Rehoming Horses. After they cleaned up they all decided to get ready for bed. Jeremy was there as Annie wanted to spend as much time as she could with her. Desi was as well but needed to go home since he had an appointment early in the morning. Addie was going as well and the hope was that it was the final one and he would be completely released to move on. They decided not to mention the Farewell Open House. Mallory was going to post invites all over the facilities and send a blast email to everyone. Lyndy thought it would be funny for her to hear about it that way. Everyone slept well and the next day they were back at it. It only took a few hours for the buzz about the party was getting around. Annie was confused as people seemed to be overly friendly to her telling her how excited they were about Friday. Jeremy saw her and walked over for a quick hug. He smiled and frowned at the same time, "Are you getting excited about the Olympics and us being apart for a while?" She sighed and leaned int him. "But you are still coming down early right?" He kissed her, "You bet I am, maybe I can sneak into you room." She giggled, "Yea right, and join me and my two roommates." He moved his eyebrows up and smirked as she slapped him, "You are weird and are all mine." They hugged as he pulled back and asked, "Are you excited about Friday too?" She smiled a little confused, "What about Friday, you are the third person that mentioned that." He stepped over to the bulletin board and pulled off the invite, "This party." Her eyes immediately welled up as she buried her head into his chest unable to speak." He whispered, "They just want to have everyone have a chance to wish you well and say goodbye, especially GG and Grandpa Max, who came in this morning." She leaned back, "Well it is nice and I am looking forward to is. I just hate being the center of attention." He pulled back and smirked, "Annie you are going to the Olympics to represent our country, I think that ship has passed." She laughed, "Yea I guess." As they hugged one more time several people came up to say how excited they were about the open house on Friday and seeing her on TV competing. It sunk in to her that she was actually going to the Olympics. Her pride and excitement took over and she knew she was ready.
Annie was all packed and ready for the party wishing her the best. At 3:30 the family gathered to look over the set up. They decided to put a medium size tent for the light snacks and drinks and Clay made sure there was some background music playing. Most people would be drawn to the front porch where the Bordens set up but the inside of the house was also available. It was a great day weather wise so they felt most would just mill around in the front of the house. GG, Lisa, Max and the others ended set up in the porch so they would be comfortable and some of the great grandkids took care of their food and drinks. Jack's mobility continued to decline but he still has his wit and could be seen playing with all of them. Amy and Lou were happy to see Casey there as she joined that group as well. Early on a lot of the staff came by before heading home to their families including the entire crew from the Rehoming Center and the small amount of staff from Heartland. Ben and Jenn came over with the kids from Fairfield as well as Mallory and Doug. Ashley and her boys showed up as well as Soraya, Dillon and their clan and they stayed around a little longer than most. Caleb got the kids and met Cass as they came over as well. Annie shrieked when she saw Bella and Maya heading her way. She had not seen a lot of them this summer as they decided to take some extra courses at school and continue to live in the apartment. She ran to hug them both and smiled, "I am so glad you guys came." Maya giggled, "Are you kidding me, we wouldn't miss a chance to see a future Olympic Champion!" They continued to chat until a baby belly showing Haley showed up with her overprotective husband, who had become a little overbearing when she was around the ranch and Rehoming Center. She smiled at Annie and rolled her eyes at her husband, "He is driving me nuts, it's like he thinks I need to be bubble wrapped." Amy laughed, "Trust me, I know where you are coming from." Haley grabbed Annie and Amy, "Hey, I have someone on the phone for you. It is a video call." Amy and Annie smiled when they saw Justin, Maryanne and several of their kids smiling and waving. Maryanne took the lead, "Hey Annie we are so excited for you and we know you are going to do great. Oh, and we will be there a couple of times and will make sure we meet up, especially for your team's competition." Annie thanked them and they said their goodbyes. As the party continued, Annie and Jeremy headed over to Jack, Lisa and Max. Annie smiled warmly as she approached the man she admired almost as much as her dad. She kneeled in front of him and hugged him gingerly as she know he had been having some pain lately. He smiled and pulled her up into his big lap. "Annie, I might be old but I will always be able to pull you in for a big hug. Your grandmas and great grandparents would be so proud of you. We know you will do well, but make sure you have fun and cherish every moment you are there. We are so proud of you." Everyone remained silent as he held her for a little while longer. JT walked up on the scene smiled with Shawna by his side. Annie, "GG is right, I know they are all proud of you and that you will do well," they told me the other night. But Grandma Lilly told me to tell you to also have fun and they all agreed. They can't wait to see you compete." Everyone chuckled realizing that what he said was the truth and as real as if they were here with all of them. The party began to die down, especially after Jack, Max and Lisa headed to Heartland. At the end it was just family and everyone was helping clean up. Annie said her goodbyes to Georgie and Katie, who had helped her so much. Amy, Ty, and some of the others said that after Annie left tomorrow, they would all sit down to look over scheduled since a good number of them would be leaving in a week to come down to the actual competition. Although a lot of people wanted to go, Amy, Ty, the kids, Georgie, Mallory and Katie were booked. Although other members of the immediate family wanted to go they knew that the business still needed to carry on while they were gone for four days. Luckily, they left on Saturday morning and would only miss two days of the work week. The Bordens got ready for bed as it was an early morning. Annie hugged her mom, dad and sisters, saving a special hug for her little brother. Jeremy and Annie said good night and got in bed exhausted. They fell asleep instantly as they dreamed of the Olympics and Annie on the podium with a gold medal.
