It had been a month since Adam had been to Kim's to talk. Since they decided to take things at a snails pace and for the most part it had been working. The hours were long at work and hadn't seen much of each other outside of work. Which helped them, forced them to take things slow. As much as Kim wanted to throw caution to the wind sometimes she didn't because her children were the first priority always. Kim was the first one to work that morning. She had been up early with both kids not wanting to sleep so she headed in ear.y to finish paperwork from the last case. It always amazed her how much paperwork they needed to fill out and how many times they had to write the same damn thing. It's was old school and frustrating but it was how things worked here.
She headed to the break room to grab a tea and took a moment to stare out into the city, her city. She hadn't really explored it to much yet. She knew a few restaurants, parks and tourist attractions but the real city was still a mystery to her. She was so lost in thought she didn't hear other people arriving for the day. Adam watched her for a few seeing was lost in thought. He didn't want to spook her so he gently closed the door hoping it would break the trance. He watched her body shake for just a second before she turned to see him. "Hey Good morning." Kim smiled seeing him there. "Morning. You looked far away. You alright?" Adam asked as he moved towards her. "Yeah early morning. The kids didn't want to sleep. Nightmares, first in a week. So I was here early. Guess I got lost looking over the city." Kim shrugged. It really wasn't anything major on her mind.
"First I'm sorry the kids had bad dreams, that's horrible for all of you. Secondly you all need to get out and explore the city. I know you take them to the park, the aquarium and the zoo on warmer days but there is so much more to see. It's April the weather starts getting better. We should take the kids to the beach one day soon, as friends of course. Pack a lunch, play in the sand. I'm sure they would love it." Adam gave her his best lip sided grin trying to win her over. "Fine! Okay! But it had to be warmer. Too cold for that shit right now!" Kim laughed. "Can I at least get a good morning hug?" Adam asked still smiling at her. Kim nodded and headed into his arms. Little did they know the team was outside watching them. Taking bets on when they would actually get together. Several bets were going, first kiss, first date and lastly sex. It was a bit crude but fun for the team as they watched the two try to distance themselves.
"I'm sure we have work to do today. Let's head out and talk later okay." Kim mentioned. "Fine but later I really want to talk about a few things. Nothing major just evening the score with more information about me." Adam kissed her forehead before releasing her. "Burgess office please." Voight popped his head in the room. "Of course sir." Kim walked out of the break room in to the office. She left the door open as she sat down. "You are not in trouble. Relax. I just wanted to let you know you need to do firearm recertification by the end of the week. And second this weekend there is a parade. All the police horses walk during the parade and they need a rider. In your file it said you ride. Can you do it?" Voight asked as her eyes lit up. "Absolutely! I love riding! Do I get to meet the horse before hand?" Kim asked excitedly. "Yes. You can head over after shift. You are excused." Voight allowed her to leave.
"You okay?" Kevin asked as she walked past. "Yeah all good. Fire arm recertification this week and Voight asked if I could ride a horse in the parade this weekend. Which I accepted right away. He said I can meet my horse after shift. I haven't ridden since I moved here so I'm excited." Kim sat at her desk turning on her computer to get to work. "You can ride? Me too!" Jay stated. "We should go together some day. I love riding. It's great exercise and it's in nature most times. It's amazing. Oh have you ever ridden on the Beach? It's the best!" Kim was excited to find another rider in Chicago. "I haven but now I need to." Jay replied. "It's not super close but VA Beach does it in the off season. It's so much fun and very relaxing with the ocean right there. So beautiful!" Kim explained. "Er we are going on vacation there! I need to do that!" Jay begged as Erin laughed and just nodded.
"Any other secret talents?" Al asked curious to know more about her. "Not really.. I have a small bakery business during the holidays. Mostly cookies and breads, pies, cheesecakes and brownies. But nothing crazy." Kim shrugged since it wasn't a big deal to her. "I think we can sample those for you if you want So reviews." Kevin offered. "Well your bestie already had my chocolate chip cookie. So ask him." Kim replied with some sassiness. "Really dude? You holding out on us!" The team laughed at Adam who looked guilty as hell. "What?! That was weeks ago and they were ridiculous. I keep hoping she makes more." Adam gave her a sly smile. "Yeah yeah maybe this weekend after the parade. The kids will love it." Kim mused out loud. The team cheered knowing they would get cookies too. It didn't take much to make them happy.
"Alright since we don't have a case yet I'm gonna head to the range to get my certification over with. Be back in a hour." Kim headed out with her items ready to kick butt. She was nervous not knowing if it was different here than in New York but she knew she would pass, she always did but nerves were to be expected. As she drove she got slightly annoyed thinking that she had just done this in New York a few months ago but she figured new state, new rules. She would work with it. She didn't have a choice really. When she arrived she noticed it was an indoor range and in the basement. She followed the signs till she found her target. She walked through full of nerves at this point but was surprised by the nicest trainer possible, Justin. "Hey I'm Detective Burgess. Im here for my recertification." Kim offered her hand to shake. "Ah Yes! You made it here quickly. I'm Justin. It's pretty simple we are looking for 5 bullets hitting the target. Closer to the center the better. We will two guns, one your personal sidearm and one new to you. This will test how you adapt to new weapons in the field. Let's get started." Justin showed her to her post allowing her to get settled.
"Alright first target go!" Justin yelled. Kim fired all 5 bullets, 3 hitting dead center. The other two slightly off. "Good job now this is an older weapon but it's good to be familiar with it. Now go!" Justin's yelled out. Kim took a second before firing again. None hit dead center but they were all close. "Alright. Looks good. You definitely passed, congratulations. I will call over to let your sergeant know. Thank you for your time." Justin shook her hand and Kim off back to the district. She was happy it was over and happy she had passed. One less thing to think about. She strolled back in seeing Platt giving her the stink eyes as she passed by. Kim still hadn't figured her out but she tried at least to please the women. Entering the bullpen she saw her boss outside his office. "Congratulations on passing. We have a case so don't get too comfortable." Voight stayed before telling everyone about the latest case.
The team headed to the scene in silence knowing the blood bath that was waiting for them. Several dead gang bangers, one that was barely a teenager. The area was surrounded by more gang bangers as they arrived freaking out and planning revenge. The hostility towards the police was well known in these neighborhoods so it was best not to engage too much as they entered the home. The smell of blood hit Kim hard. She hated that smell. She pushed it aside as she moved further looking for evidence of who had been here and why were these men killed. They moved in teams as they looked through each room. The responding patrol cops had stated no one else was in the building when they entered. They still moved with caution just in case. The house overall showed no signs of drugs and no piles of cash laying around so the reason behind the crime remained a mystery.
The manor of death was not. They were all killed with a single shot to the head. It was up close and personal. If it wasn't drugs what was it. The drugs could have been stolen, money too. Just so many unanswered questions. The team met in the kitchen to discuss what they found on the property. As they were all talking they noticed they were missing two members. "Where are Al and Antonio? Anyone seen them?" Voight asked. Everyone shook no. Voight called out over the radio. "We are upstairs in a small bedroom. We found a small scared child under a bed. We would like Burgess and Lindsey to come up. Maybe they can help as a mother figure." Dawson spoke in response.
"I'm sending them up now." Voight replies. The girls headed up the stairs. As they entered they saw both men laying on the floor face down looking under the bed. "Lets us try. You guys head out. We got this." Erin stayed as they got on the floor replacing the men. "Hey little guy. I'm Erin and this is my friend Kim. We want to help you sweetheart. Can you tell us your name?" Erin spoke softly in her best kid voice. The little boy shook his head no. "Sweetie I know you are scared, I understand that. I get scared too. I was hurt really bad too recently. I'm afraid to trust people too. But I found good people that help me move past the hurt. Can you let us help you?" Kim spoke even softer. The little boy didn't move but spoke softly, Jason. "Hey Jason. Can you tell me how old you are?" Kim asked. He didn't speak just showed his fingers, 4 fingers.
"My goodness you are a big boy! Can you come out now so we can help you?" Erin asked. He moved closer, slowly. "Come on Jason. Let me carry you out of here." Kim asked. He came out and they noticed he was wet. "Well let's get you changed first and then we will get you checked out at the hospital." Erin spoke as she got up to grab some clothes for the little boy. "I'm gonna take off your wet clothes okay." Kim spoke softly as she gently took his clothes off. Kim took the outfit from Erin to put on but asked him about it. "Is this outfit okay? Or do want something different?" Kim asked watching as he nodded. Kim slowly dressed the small boy. Once he was dressed Kim lifted him and they headed down the stairs making sure to shield him from the bodies.
The rest of the team watched as Kim and Erin moved Jason out of the house. The team headed out to find out what they knew about the small child. "Kim head to med with him. Erin can fill us in." Voight offered as Kim,carried him in to the ambo that was waiting for them. Adam watched ax the6 headed off. "Okay we didn't get much. We know his name is Jason and he's 4. Other than that he didn't speak. He wet himself in fear. Obviously the kid has to have a mom somewhere. We need to find her." Erin started as the team headed back to the district to look for anything that might help. Call logs, texts, emails, criminal history, known associates, anything to fund the killer and this boys family.
Kim sat with Jason while the doctors checked him over. He was under weight but overall in okay health. No signs of abuse so he was free to leave. Kim brought him back to the district hoping to talk to him more. She once again had to carry him as he was scared of everything. Kim sat him in the break room and got him some water before ordering him some food. "Jason could you color me a picture?" Kim asked. He nodded and started his picture while Kim stepped out. "Overall he's okay. Under weight and scared but physically okay. He's drawing me a picture now. I ordered some food maybe he will talk after some food." Kim shrugged before heading back in. Adam followed her. He needed to check in and see how she was doing. He knew as a mother this had to be killing her.
"Hey little buddy. Can you tell me what you drew?" Kim asked sitting next to him. He looked at Adam scared. "Hey you don't have to worry about him. That's Adam. He's a police officer like me and Erin. And he wants to help you too. Can you tell me about your picture?" Kim tried to regain the focus. Jason shook his head no. "Ah I see. You want me to guess? Well I'm pretty bad at that but I will try just for you." Kim watched Jason smile a little bit. Adam watched in awe of Kim in full momma bear mode. "This is your house. And that's you, right?" Kim asked watching him nod yes. "Oh good. Let's see what else we have. You are in the back yard? With your brother?" Kim wasn't sure who the male in the drawing was. Jason nodded. "What is your brothers name?" Kim asked softly. "Gregory." Jason whispered. "Good job buddy. Is this your mom?" Kim asked softly. Jason nodded again.
"Okay great. How about Adam goes and gets your lunch while we keep talking?" Kim asked but Jason seemed unsure but did nod yes. "Great." Kim watched Adam head downstairs with her phone to show the driver. "So what's this on the ground here?" Kim pointed to an object he drew on the grassy area. "Gun." Jason whispered. "Was mom trying to get rid of the gun?" Kim asked. Jason shrugged. "That's okay. How about you draw me another picture while you eat okay?" Kim asked as she cut up his food into smaller pieces before leaving him to eat. "Okay so this picture he drew. That's his mom and his brother Gregory. And that is a gun. Does that help at all or fit somehow?" Kim asked hoping to get something. "Well we can look a bit more now that we have another name." Jay replied.
Kim headed back to Jason to see what he was drawing and making sure he was eating his lunch. She figured he was starving but she wasn't entirely sure he would feel comfortable to eat. Kim was thrilled to see that he was eating and drawing her another picture. "That looks beautiful. Can you tell me what you drew for me?" Kim asked softly. He shook his head no. "Oh you want me to guess again?" Kim asked playfully. He shook his head yes. "Okay so this is you and your brother in front of your house. Right?" Kim asked. She looked up to see Jay paying attention but looking busy. She had left the door open on purpose and Jay was the closest. Jason nodded yes again for her. "Great! And I see this other man. Who is this man? He looks angry." Kim asked again hoping he would open up. "I don't know." Jason whispered.
"Okay come with me. I'm gonna ask you some question but I want you to see the things I point to Okay?" Kim picked him up and he buried his face in her neck. "We are just going to my desk. These are all people I work with. Now you said you don't know the mans name from your picture but what color skin does he have? Is it like mine, like yours or like my friend Kevin here?" Kim asked after showing his some options. Jason looked around the room and point to Antonio. "Good job buddy. Now his hair. Was it like mine, like Kevin's, lighter like Erin's, a mixture like Adams?" Kim watched as Jason looked as all the people in the room. He point to Kevin. "That's great! You are doing so good! Now my friend Antonio is going to show you his arm. See it has this drawing on it. Did the man from your picture have any drawings that you could see?" Kim asked as Jason looked at Antonio's arm.
"A spider web like momma puts out for Halloween." Jason answered. The team started to search right away for any matches. "That's great. Thank you. Do you like Halloween?" Kim asked trying to make him feel comfortable and not so on edge with each question. "No it's scary! You can't tell who's nice." Jason explained. "Oh I understand. Maybe you can come trick or treating with my kids this year so you know it's safe." Kim watched his eyes light up. "I don't like mean people. They scare me when they yell and hit. Did your bad man yell and hit you too?" Jason asked. The whole team stopped working to watch her. "Yes he did sweetheart. But I was very brave just like you and told someone so they could help me. And my bad man is in jail now. He can hurt me anymore. But it doesn't mean I'm not scared anymore. I think I always will be." Kim was honest with him. Kids deserved honesty in these situations.
Jason nodded his head before snuggling into Kim and falling asleep. She leaned back slightly before moving to the break room with him wrapped around her. The team needed to work and not worry about being quiet around him. Once she closed the door the team spoke again. "Okay we got a few things. Let's get Voight." Erin stood to get Voight and bring him out to hear the updates. "What have we got?" Voight asked expectantly. "Okay so from what the boy gave us we know his name is Jason and his brother is Gregory." Jay pointed to the photo of one of the dead kids. "Jason gave us a description of a man who seemed to argue with Gregory. From the details we got we found this man Juan, the spider, Sanchez. Who had priors for illegal firearms and possession. He has links to different drug gangs but seems to be a free agent working with who ever gives him the best deal." Jay finished. "So it appears that Jason and Gregory have the last name Lopez. Their mother AnnaMaria works at Chicago Med as a custodian. No father figures listed for either kid on their birth certificates." Adam offered up.
"Okay Al, you and Antonio get with the mother. Tell you about the boys and see what she knows. The rest of us are going after this Sanchez character. Leave Burgess with the boy where he's safe. Let's move out." Voight concludes as the team moved down to roll up. Kim was unaware of what was going on. She was left in the dark which she didn't truly mind. It allowed her to focus on her own kids and the child in front of her. She was brought out if her thoughts when she received a text message from her lawyer said it was all a done deal. Her divorce was final, he was in jail for a long time and she was once and for all free.
As the team returned they brought the offender through the lobby. Giving the true perp walk experience. Adam was so in the zone he didn't hear someone calling his name. After the perp was handed off to the officers assigned to the holding cells Adam dropped his shoulders to relax. It was only then he noticed his father waiting for him. "Hey pops. What are you doing here?" Adam thought it was odd. The man never came around unless he needed something and he hated the 21st. "Adam my boy! I wanted to invite you to dinner tonight. I have some ladies I would like you to meet." Bob looked excited and pleased with himself. "Oh ah yeah I have plans tonight. And I'm not interested in being set up. I already have someone. We are taking things slow but I'm a taken man. So if you want me to meet your lady friend that's cool but nothing else. I won't do that to my girl." Adam was pretty sure he and Kim were on the same page just waiting it out.
He felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He pulled it out smiling that it was Kim. He smiled brighter when he saw the message that her divorce was final. "That was her confirming plans for tonight. Sorry pops another time." Adam started to walk away but heard his dad speak again. "Is it that new chick? The one from New York? You know her unit was corrupt. A captain from New York was murdered recently. Be careful." Bob walked after that. Adam paused and thought about that statement. Kim had mentioned cops being dirty but never someone being murdered. He was going to have to ask about that. But for now he was focused on finishing and heading to Kim's to celebrate.
As Adam joined the team in the bullpen the team was hard at work cleaning up the loose ends. Trying to get everything they could to nail this guy for good. They needed to make sure this kid and his family was safe. And they were still trying to identify the other two boys. As of now they had nothing to go off of so it was a waiting game for sure. They hoped the perp would give them something but that was no Adams job today. He went back to phone records and trying to find links between the perp and other known offenders. It was tedious and time consuming but it was worth it. Kim suddenly emerged from the holding the little boy would was squirming in her arms. "I know little buddy I'm getting you to the potty as fast I can." Kim moved like she was on a mission almost running to the bathroom with the small boys tucked in her arms. The team laughing as she ran through. Kids always waited till the last minute.
When she returned she noticed Al and Antonio back with a women who was clearly beside herself. "Mommy!" Jason yelled loudly making Kim jump before placing him down and letting him run to his mother. "Thank you so much for taking care of him. His brother watches him while I work. I had no idea about any of this." The women sobbed as she held her son tightly in her arms. "It was my pleasure. He's a very sweet and smart little guy." Kim replied talking a bit more with the mother before they headed out. Voight had returned from the interview room looking pleased with himself. He had gotten a confession and names for the other children. The more senior team members were sent out to do the notifications while the rest were sent home for the night. Paperwork waiting until the next day.
Adam left thinking about what his father told him and decided to look up the story online to see what information he could find before he asked her about it. Maybe it had nothing to do with her and who she worked with. He wasn't sure yet. Kim left exhausted but excited for the night to come. She was meeting her horse and then spending time with Adam and her kids. It was a great way to spend the night. As she pulled up outside the stables her excitement grew. She hadn't ridden in months at this point and needed that again. It was a pretty impressive looking stable. Very regal. She was impressed right away. She headed inside looking around to find the man in charge. "Hello. You must be Kimberly. I'm Matthew. Pleasure to meet you." The gentleman offered. "Lovely to meet you as well. Please call me Kim. I was hoping to see the horse and maybe ride him a bit to get a feeling for him before Saturday." Kim explained hoping he didn't mind. "Absolutely. His usually rider is ill and he hasn't been ridden much so he would love that. His name is Black Jack. He's very gentle but it's quite large." He explained as they walked closer to the horse in question.
"Wow he's stunning! May I open the gate or would you prefer?" Kim asked unsure of how the horse would do with a new person. "You may. He loves ladies so he will be even more gentle." Matthew explained as he watched Kim pet the horse before her. He took a few photos to share before bringing Jack out to get set for his ride. It wasn't long before Kim was mounted and riding around the ring on Jack. He was majestic and his movements were slick. He was definitely a show animal that loved the attention. Kim ride for an hour before bringing him back to the stables. "Okay my buddy. You and me are gonna spend lots of time together till your rider is back. You brought me so much joy today. Thank you." Kim petted him once more before placing a soft kiss on his nose and leaving for the day. She washed her hands before exiting the stables. This had been a great riding experience for sure.
She made her way home completely unaware that Adam was looking into the issues that took place in New York prior to her leaving. He was stunned to say the least. He couldn't wait to see her and get some answers. It was truly plaguing his mind thinking he didn't really know this girl at all. Or maybe it had nothing to do with her so it wasn't important. He had lots of questions and the longer it took to see her the more questions he got. He knew Kim was home by now but didn't want to interrupt time with her kids. So he would wait a bit longer before heading over. He also decided to meet Kevin for a drink to talk things over. It would hopefully ease his mind some. They decided the meet at a different location so they could just talk.
"Okay so what's the drama man?" Kev asked as he walked closer. "Hey thanks for coming. My mind is spinning. My pops stopped by he was trying to set me up. I told him I was seeing someone which is a stretch but still and he asked if it was Kim. Started talking trash about her unit being corrupt and a captain out there being killed. She never mentioned that. She did say people out there were dirty but not this. I looked into it and found this article. I'm tripping right now." Adam handed Kevin his phone to read the article. It took a bit but when he finished he looked confused as well. "Look this was Queens Gangs Unit, not SVU. Maybe it was the final push to leave. But nothing in this article mentions Kim or her Unit. Hear her out. To me it doesn't seem like she's doing anything wrong." Kevin offered his opinion.
"Yeah maybe. Just the way my dad said it. Like he knew something dirty about her. It was strange. But your right. I need to let her explain it for herself." Adam agreed but it still bothered him and would till they spoke. Kim was blissfully unaware of the drama across town. She had dinner with the kids, they played and then got them into bed. She was ready for her talk with Adam when he arrived. She wondered what he wanted to come clean on but knew it couldn't be too bad since he was a cop. She would just have to wait and see. However she was just more excited about finally being free, finally able to move on with life. That excitement propelled her through the mundane chores that busied her time while she awaited his arrival.
When the knock on the door Came she just about jumped out of her seat running to the door. She threw the door open to find a sad and confused looking Adam. "Hey we need to talk." Adam spoke as he walked in. Kim felt like the other shoe just dropped. She was suddenly scared and unsure but she nodded letting him in. "Adam what's going on? If you want to end things I get it. So please just be honest with me." Kim begged sadly. "No Kim it's not that. At least I don't want that. But something was said today and now I'm spinning. I need to know the truth. What happened in New York? Not with your ex, your job. Why did you leave?" Adam asked rambling. "Um well I told her you that the all of Queens was dirty. Cops, lawyers, judges. It was sickening. I needed a change to somewhere with morals, pride and a good success rate. I want justice for the victims not brush it under the rug because we are afraid of going after gang bangers. Or worse getting paid off by the bad guys. What the hell was said about me?" Kim demanded.
"I was told that a captain in New York was murdered. And that your unit was corrupt. I've been spinning since then. I don't know to think. Like wouldn't you tell me that. That seems important." Adam looked distraught. "Look my unit was corrupt but it wasn't me. I'm the reason they got fired and the unit was restarted. My partner was still there because he wasn't corrupt either. And that captain wasn't mine. His death allowed me to move the kids because the judge saw unsafe Queens was. But I barely knew the guy. It had nothing to do with me. How could you even think that? I thought you knew me." Kim was crying. Upset over this falling apart before it started. "Kim I'm sorry I just freaked out. There is so much we don't know about each other. And your life there was a mystery. I just want to know everything so we can make us work. You texting me that you are free was the best moment. I want an us still." Adam grabbed her hands forcing her to look at him.
"I don't know. If you can't trust me then what do we have. What can we have? I can't be in a relationship where I'm not trusted. I can't live like that again and I won't. So you need to decide right now. Either we work this out and you trust me completely. Or you don't and you can walk out right now. But this is all on you, you did this. So only you can fix it." Kim pulled her hands away and moved further down the couch. Effectively putting space between them. "Kim I really do want to work this out. I guess I have trust issues that I need to work on. But I also want to be honest with you about me and my past. It's not terrible but I made some dumb decisions that I regret. And I know when I tell you that it will effect you. So are you open to hearing it?" Adam asked reaching out to her.
"Oh you can talk but you have to prove that you want this. You have to prove you trust me. Words mean nothing, actions do." Kim didn't take his hand. She couldn't not yet. "Okay so at 19 I met Nicole. It was the summer, we hung out everyday. We thought we were in love. Half way through the summer we got engaged. A 40 ring and 6 pack that we weren't old enough to drink was how we sealed the deal. Summer came to an end and we went our separate ways. It was stupid and I regret it. Then while was in the academy I met Wendy. Her brother was one of my best friends. We started dating and after 6 months we got engaged. Again I thought I loved her. But she couldn't handle the job. The risks, the injuries, it all led to fights. She broke up with me at the district. But you, you are different from the rest. I knew it on day one. I lost the ability to speak, to think. I was blown away when I met you. The more I learn the more I know I want to work this out. I want to fight to make this happen. Fight against my instinct to run from everything I feel already for you. Today was a slip. I know they will happen but it doesn't mean I won't fight to fix it, fix us. Please give me a chance to fix this for us." Adam begged her. Pleaded with his eyes.
"Okay. You are right. We will have slip ups. But just ask me, don't spin out all day. Duarte wasn't my Captain. He was murdered by gang bangers. And he ignored over 100 rapes to get the leader of the gang. It's not right. Yes he was part of the corruption but it wasn't on me. I did what I could everyday. Fought the good fight and asked for help when it was apparent nothing was going to change. My life isn't simple, the past is like a badge of honor I wear for making it out alive. But I have trust issues too but I'm willing to try. I told you that from the start. But communication is key and we both have to work at it. Not just me, not just you, both of us." Kim spoke confidently, with conviction. "You are absolutely right. Now if you don't mind I have a small gift for you in the car." Adam smiled slyly as he excused himself to his car. Kim was left confused but certainly curious.
"Since we are celebrating. Our first fight and your freedom I thought a little bubbly was appropriate. What to do you say?" Adam held up the bottle while raising his eyes brows. "Sounds amazing. Not sure I would call it a fight but I appreciate the gesture." Kim grabbed some glasses while Adam opened the bottle. "A toast to your freedom and to the new life you get to live your way with no fear holding you back." Adam clinked glasses before they both took sips. "You know before the whole fight thing I was really excited about you coming over. There is something I really want to do but haven't been able to." Kim smiled wickedly. "Oh really? Because there is definitely something I want to do with you too." Adam put down his glass and walked closer to her.
His eyes flipped between her lips and her eyes. But Kim reached up to run her fingers through the hair on the back of his head and she pushed herself higher to kiss him for the first time. It started slow but turned more passionate. Adam took her glass and placed it on the counter top before picking her up and sitting her on the counter as well. It turned into a whole make out session pretty quickly. When Kim moved back she gasping for air. Needing air but wanting to touch him still she rested her forehead on his. "I'm not ready for more but damn! I'm sorry." Kim whispered softly. "Hey I get it. But I have to agree. It's never been that hot before. And just amazing. We fit together so well. But we can take it slow as long as those lips stay with mine I'm good." Adam kissed her again needing to feel her lips against his again.
What had started as a terrible night turned into a pretty amazing one quickly. They made out off and on till Adam had to return home. Both with beaming smiles on their faces as they went to bed that night. They had overcome so much already and couldn't wait to see what was to come next.
