Vivian Vanfang is my creation.
Vivian was trying her hardest to concentrate on what Jake was showing her with the inventory, but every few minutes she found herself staring at Jake's partner, Chance. He was currently leaned over into the engine area of an older green car with his back to her. She could see his back muscles through his coveralls every time he moved or reached for another tool.
'Viv! Snap out of it! This is your job! Stop drooling over him like you're in Highschool or something! Just because you have similar interests DOES NOT mean you should take an interest in him! Get a grip, girl! You haven't even dated in the last two years since...his...death.' Vivian thought sadly to herself.
"Ms. Vanfang, you okay?" She barely registered that Jake was talking to her. "Oh...uhm...yes. Continue."
"You seem a little distracted. Is this all too much for the first day?" Jake asked as she shook her head.
"I said I'm okay, Mr. Clawson. It won't happen again." Jake shrugged at her answer. "Okay then."
Even though she said it wouldn't happen again, it did a couple more times before Chance finally put the hood down on the car and came over to where they were sitting.
"Hey Buddy, go ahead and give that old lady a call and tell her it's ready for pick up. Hopefully she'll be fine for a while. I replaced all the spark plugs this time." Chance said as he wiped his hands with a rag he had hanging out of his back pocket.
Jake reached for the phone and proceeded to call her. "Hopefully she won't threaten to report us to the Megacat Auto Club again for the millionth time."
Vivian turned to Chance. "Is she a trouble customer or something?"
Chance shook his head and gave a small smile. "Nah, she's just an old lady who knows nothing about cars. She yanks our tails a lot, but she's alright."
"Oh." Vivian said simply.
"So you'll be here everyday?" Chance asked, hopeful.
"Yes sir, for a couple hours a day at least everyday. The rest of the day I'm at HQ."
"Well, if your car ever needs a tune-up or fixing, I'll be happy to do your first service for free." Chance said, leaning over the desk.
"That's a nice offer." Vivian said, attempting to pay more attention to her work than him.
"But I'd also be willing to take a dinner or lunch date in trade though." Chance said, giving her his best smile. Jake was talking to the old kat lady on the line, giving him a "stop it" look.
Vivian looked up at him with her eyebrow raised. "Are we going to have a problem here, Mr. Furlong? I could just ask Mr. Clawson to email me a copy of the reports and only come her once a month..." She said as she got up to begin to leave but he stepped in front of her.
"No, no! Not at all! I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable. I can be a bit forward and intimidating at times, but ladies love that about me..."
Vivian cut him off. "Well, if tail is all you're after, go talk to one of them." She said, not meaning for it to come out as if she was jealous of other she-cats he may or may not be talking to. Chance seemed taken aback a bit. 'Woah, she's...upset?' He thought.
"We're co-workers Mr. Furlong. I don't date my co-workers." She said, glaring at him slightly.
"Oh...sorry." Chance said, slightly defeated.
"I'm going to go now, but I will be back in the morning, first thing." She told him as she began to walk out of the garage and to her car. "Have a nice day, Ms. Vanfang." He said as she nodded and turned to continue leaving. He watched her get into her car and leave.
Vivian slightly slammed the door to her car, slightly flustered after dealing with Chance. 'Dude seriously needs to get a piece of tail, but it sure won't be from me!' She thought to herself as she started her car and left.
'Although I might not mind...' She started to think, but then shook her head of these thoughts. 'Quit that! You came back to Megakat City for a reason! Not to bang some grease kat! A grease kat with nice muscle tone...ugh...Viv! Maybe you're the one who needs to get laid!'
Chance sighed as he watched her drive away. Jake placed a hand on his shoulder.
"She shot you down again?" Jake asked as Chance nodded. "Yeah, but I'm not going to give up."
"Why are you chasing after her? You just met her today!" Jake exclaimed.
"She was interested in my comic book stack. Usually most she-kats don't take a second look at those. She also looked like she wanted to play the arcade game we have in the back. She likes the same things I like, Jake! Do you know how hard that is to find? Wait...no you don't. You and Callie were made for each other. Even Queen Callista from the past liked you more than me! You don't know how hard it is for me to find someone similar to me."
Jake raised an eyebrow at Chance. "I thought you weren't into relationships? You said your one and only love will ever be the TurboKat."
"Yeah, true...and hiding our secret would be hard with a girlfriend who can't know."
"Callie knows." Jake replied.
"That's already one person too many. At least we know she's trustworthy. Like you said, I hardly know her."
"True." Jake shrugged.
'But I want to.' Chance thought to himself.
Lucky for them, Ms. Vanfang was gone in time as the alert for the Swat Kats blared through the garage.
"Just in time." Jake said as he went to go answer the call.
"What's up Callie?"
"Guys, someone is robbing the bank! You need to get there, quick!"
"Isn't this a job for the Enforcers?" Chance asked.
"They aren't some run of the mill robbers. They have heavy weapons and armor."
Chance and Jake looked at each other and nodded.
"We're on our way Ms. Briggs." Chance said as Jake hung up the phone and they both made a run for the hanger, quickly changing out of their garage coveralls and into their flight suits, masks, and helmets.
Within moments, T-Bone had the Turbokat jet engines roaring to life and they were on the way to once again, save the day for Megacat city. Although, this time it would be slightly different.
When they got there, there was smoke coming from the front of the building, the front windows and doors had been blown out.
"Let's go pal, they're not going to apprehend themselves." Razor said, preparing to leave the Turbokat as T-bone put it into hover mode. "Roger that, buddy. Let's kick some tail!" With that, they both repelled down to the street in front of the bank, only to find two of the robbers running away from the scene. They looked roughed up and scared.
T-bone and Razor looked at one another and decided to go in, glovatrixes armed and ready. Once they got in, they were surprised to see someone else already took care of the robbers. Two of them were tied up.
"Huh? Someone got here before we did?" Razor asked as he came towards the two tied up robbers.
"Yes, someone did." A she-cat dressed in a full body black leather suite. She had a black mask over her eyes. The zipper just barely showing cleavage. She had a gun holster on her left leg. Her feet were clad in black boots only up to her calf. She was a very pretty she-cat. Her hair was blonde and slightly curly.
'Whoa, what are the chances I meet two pretty she-cats today?' T-bone thought to himself as she started walking towards them.
"So, what's your name?" Razor asked as she went to pass him. She stopped and looked like she was thinking for a moment.
"Shadow Kat." She said as she continued walking. T-bone let her pass him, but he stopped her when he put his hand on her shoulder. "Hey now, where are you going? How do we know you're not with them? Woah!"
The next thing T-bone knew, he was in the air for a couple of seconds and landed on his back with a thud. She had grabbed him by his paw and flipped him up, over, and in front of her. He shook his head and looked up at her.
"I'm not with them. I did your job and stopped them for you. Stay out of my way. That's all you need to know." She said, stepping around him and out of the bank.
T-bone sat up and Razor came to help him up.
"Not much luck with the ladies today, eh T-bone?" Razor said as helped T-bone up, but something caught his eye. 'She has the same orange and red stripped tail as Vivian! Can't be though...This one's a blonde.' T-bone took off for the door to try and catch her. "Hey! Hold on a minute!" He yelled as he caught her speeding away on a motorcycle. "Crud, she got away." T-bone said as Razor caught up with him.
The distant sound of The Enforcers sirens could be heard. "Well, she's not very friendly." Razor said as T-bone nodded. "She does remind me of someone though." Razor cocked his head. "Who?"
A few moments later, Commander Feral steps out of his Enforcer vehicle, of course the first thing he does is stomp his way over to the Swat Kats. "I'm assuming you Swat Kats are once again the cause of this mess?"
"Actually, not this time Feral." T-bone said with a smirk. Razor chimed in. "There was this she-cat that took care of these guys. Two of them got away, but the other two are tied up in there."
Feral looks confused. "There's more of you vigilantes?!" Razor shrugged. "We don't know. She didn't stay long enough for us to even know why she was here. She did give us a name though, Shadow Kat."
"She can whip some tail." T-bone said as he rolled his left shoulder a bit.
Feral huffed. "Well it seems as though you Swat Kats have inspired someone to take up your vigilante ways."
"What's the matter Feral? Afraid we're going to put you out of a job?" T-bone asked with his signature smile. Feral growled at him.
"Let's go, T-bone." Razor said as both he and T-bone turned to leave for the Turbokat. As soon as they got into the Turbokat, they received another call from Callie. "Yes, Callie?" Razor answered. He started slipping out of the habit of calling her "Ms. Briggs" anytime she called ever since she became his girlfriend.
"Did you guys stop them?" She asked.
"Nope, someone beat us to it." T-bone said as he started to fly the jet back to the garage.
"Someone beat you to it?! Who?!"
"Some she-kat named Shadow Kat. She kicked T-bone's butt on her way out." T-bone growled slightly when Razor reported that part to Callie.
"Thanks pal."
"Did you guys get into an altercation with her?" Callie asked.
"No, but she doesn't seem like the type that wants help or wants to even talk to us."
"Hmmm...maybe she's one of the good guys too or maybe she's one of the bad guys. Guess we'll find out later. I'll see what I can find." Callie says as Razor goes to respond.
"We're still on for tonight, right Callie?"
"Razor, remember what you told me? No personal stuff on the Swat Kat line, but yes, we are."
Razor blushed, slightly embarrassed. "Right, I was...uh...just testing you." T-bone rolled his eyes and looked a little annoyed.
"Sure. Talk to you later."
"Bye Razor." She said and hung up.
"Bye Razor." T-bone said, mockingly. Razor raised an eyebrow. "Are you jealous pal?"
T-bone shook his head and tried to cover for himself. "No! Of course not!" Razor laughed a little.
"You ARE jealous! Don't worry T-bone, you have two new she-cats to chase now, maybe one of them will come around! I just hope that Shadow Kat isn't like Turm..."
"Don't you say it, Razor! She wasn't even my girlfriend!" T-bone growls as he flies the jet back into the hangar.
Meanwhile somewhere across town a kat's fist hits the mahogany desk in anger. The room is dark, so there's no way to make out the figure at the desk.
"Not only are those Swat Kats meddling in my business, there's a new she-cat meddling as well. I'll have to get rid of all three of them."
