"Should we celebrate?" Adam asked holding her tight. "I would love that but the kids need to be picked up. So how about we get the kids and make cookies with them before dinner time?" Kim smiled looking at him. "Sounds like a pretty good idea. But after the kids are asleep, you, me, the bedroom. So let's go!" He picked her up carrying her through the house. Kim laughing the whole way. "I have never been this happy before. It feels amazing!" Kim adjusted in his hold so she could smash her lips on his. He pressed her against the wall as they continued to make out. "Being with you feels amazing. Being a family with the kids makes especially me feel amazing! God I love you!" He kissed her again passionately. "We can't be late so let's go." His smile blinding in the moment. "Yes let's go!" Kim smiled dragging him to the car. The car ride was full of soft touches and lots of smiles. They arrived out sure the school and waited for the kids to come out. It was a beautiful day outside so Kim wanted to soak up as much as she could.
He watched as the kids ran towards her happy to see her and not the sitter. They loved the sitter but mommy was always number one. Adam took a picture and sent it to Jay showing him the smile on Kim's face seeing her kids. It clearly wasn't a fake smile. Jay replied right away letting them know he was happy to see how Kim was doing. He did remind Adam that she may have a nightmare but she was strong and would get through this too. The kids ran to see Adam next. He picked them both up, one in each hip hugging them tight. He was definitely loving the family vibes right now. "Alright kiddos so let's get you home and then mom suggested baking cookies! What kind do you think we should make?" He asked seeing their faces light up. "Oatmeal Raisin!" The kids yelled. "Really?" He was confused by that choice. "Well it's not a regular oatmeal raisin right kids?" Kim egging them on. "Nope!" Mia laughed. "Well okay then let's go! I'm getting hungry thinking about it!" They all laughed as he got them in the car with Kim's help of course.
He was still learning all aspects of being a parent. It was a lot to learn especially since he didn't want to over step it step on anyone's toes. As he drove the kids home they talked about their days. The friends they have and what they learned. Both kids were happy with the life they were building at school. They were also excited to make cookies with both mommy and Adam. They had never made cookies with Adam before so they couldn't wait to show off their baking skills. He had no idea what he was in for when they got home. As they moved into the house the kids ran right to the kitchen excited to make cookies. They loved baking with mom. She told them it was something she did with her grandmother as a child so it was special to them. Kim followed behind them laughing knowing they would make a mess but it was more about building the memories as a family.
Adam had followed behind Kim with the backpacks and lunch pails. He knew Kim always cleaned them out as soon as they got home so that was the first priority. He noticed both kids waiting next to chairs which seemed about right so they could be near the counter tops. As soon as he cleaned up he saw Kim had already pulled everything out of the pantry to make the cookies. "Alright teach me!" Adam offered up knowing the kids were be eager to show him how it's done. "Yes! It's so good! We promise!" Milo yelled excitedly. "Well with that kind of praise now I'm excited." He smiled lifting the kids placing them on the chairs Kim moved closer. Each kid had ingredients in front of them and lots of measure cups and spoons. "Okay I started the oven now how do we start making the cookies?" Kim asked the kids. "Sugars and butter!" Mia answered. "Correct so we need half a cup of butter who has the 1/2 cup?" Kim asked. She loved teaching them and seeing them learn new things.
Milo picked it up and handed it to Kim. "Thank you! I also need the tablespoon. Which one is it?" She asked again Mia handing over this time. Adam was amazed how good they were at finding the right things Kim needed. He watched as the kids measured all the dry ingredients when Kim asked for them allowing the mixer to do the hard work. He also noticed how she deviated from the original recipe making her own version. He could see why they weren't your average cookie. As the kids scooped out the dough on to parchment paper covered he smiled loving how happy the family was together. He took lots of photos to document the day together. After all the dough was scooped Adam took the kids outside to play while Kim was busy moving hot cookie trays around. Even though they were well behaved kids they could get in the way and if one got burned they would never forgive themselves.
They ran around the backyard chasing after a ball. The kids were crash hard after this for sure. He hadn't even realized that Kim came out to join them. "Cookies done?" Adam asked as he walked closer to hold her. "Yup. And the kitchen is cleaned up. You having fun?" She asked kissing his chest as he held her. "Oh absolutely! Honestly I was amazed by how smart the kids are. How they knew which cups to use and spoons to use. I am so proud of them. You have done an amazing job raising them." He kissed her softly. "Thank you. It's nice hearing that. Obviously I didn't hear it often before but it's nice. I like it." She smiled lovingly. "You will hear it everyday. Because you deserve to hear it." He pulled back a bit grabbing her hands. "Let's play with the kids a bit longer before I order dinner for all of us. Then celebrating time." He needed a bit of space as his body was reacting to hers being so close. With the kids there that wasn't a good thing.
"Kids! Adams it!" Kim yelled as the kids started to chase Adam around the yard. He was running not too fast but trying not to get caught by them. The laughing was infectious to the point he was laughing so hard he got tagged by Mia so now she was it. He was chasing her but not trying too hard. He wanted Milo to have a chance to get her. Kim scooped up her son to chase her daughter better. Once he tagged Mia Milo took off running. He was giggling so hard as he ran that he almost fell but Adam grabbed him before he hit the ground. He rested the small child in his chest turning towards Kim to show her Milo was unharmed. "You okay buddy?" Adam asked softly. "Yes thank you for catching me." Milo snuggled closer to him. "You are welcome buddy! I will always do everything I can to prevent you from getting hurt. You want to head inside for a bit?" He asked still rubbing his back. "Yes please." Milo whispered. "Okay buddy let's head in. We can play a game or something." He saw Kim had tears in her eyes. He knew they were happy tears. The ladies followed them inside the house. "Let's pick some games kids." Kim called out watching them run off to the game closet.
While they played games Adam ordered dinner to be delivered. He had no interest in cooking and wanted Kim to relax. Life had been crazy all day so she needed this down time. He also decided to buy a few new games since it felt like they were always playing the same ones. He noticed Kim staring at him several times a day wasn't exactly sure why but he figured it had something to do with him stepping up to be a father figure to the kids. When dinner arrived he placed all the food containers on the table with serving spoons and allowed the Kim to dish out the amount for the kids before she filled her own plate. He was still learning what she liked and didn't. But he loved how all three always tried new foods and weren't afraid to go back for more of things they liked. He loved that about them. After the family was done eating Kim took the kids up to be bathed while Adam cleaned up after dinner. The kids were a mess so baths were a must tonight. He waited on the couch for them. He decided to use the time to look at homes in the area that met their needs. Or more precisely Kim's needs. He would be happy living in a cardboard box as long as she was next to him.
As he searched he heard lots of giggling coming from upstairs. He also heard running. He paused his search to go help Kim wrangle the kids. It was no surprise to him that Milo was the one running as he loved being naked after bath time. He didn't get far though as Adam scooped him bringing right back to their room to dress him in jammies. The little boy laughing the whole time. "Alright my little nudist play time for a bit then bed time." Kim let the kids loose as they headed downstairs to play again. "Well I want to try these cookies you guys made!" Adam tried to look as excited as possible knowing it was not his favorite cookie. "I promise you will love it!" Mia held out her pinky for a pinky promise. Adam laughed wrapping his larger pinky finger around hers sealing the deal. The small family headed downstairs towards the kitchen. Kim grabbed the container of cookie giving each of the kids several before handing one to Adam. The kids watching for his reaction. He felt on display but he would endure the cookie for them. He took a bite eyes turning from skepticism to delight. "Okay these are really good. What did you add? I saw you hide a few things." He looked at her knowingly.
Kim laughed before letting him in on the secret. "Well for one I used 4 cups of oats not three. And then I add a cup of Golden Raisins and a cup of Craisins plus the regular Raisins. It adds extra flavor and it beefs up the cookie more. Without it all it's too wet of a mixture and the cookies stick together. I completely ripped off Starbucks with the idea but made it my own way. People pay me for them all the time." Kim smiled seeing him enjoy something she made with her kids. "I got to admit I was not looking forward to these since I don't normally like them but these are really good. But my favorite part was watching the three of you together. It was beautiful." He kissed her head before grabbing a few cookies and heading to play with the kids again. Kim followed behind loving the family scene before her.
They played a couple rounds of the game before they took the kids to bed. Once they were in bed the kids both feel asleep listening to their favorite book. Kim and Adam both gave the kids kisses of their heads and whispered I love you before heading out again. The couple headed back downstairs to finish cleaning up for the night. "I uh started the house search while you were bathing the kids." He stated nonchalantly wondering where her head was at. "Really? Anything promising?" She asked stopping what she was doing to give him her full attention. "Not too sure yet. I heard all the commotion upstairs and stopped looking but I didn't close the app so we can still look if you like?" He didn't want to rush her but he was excited to start the search. "Yeah let's look at what you found." Kim moved them to the couch to look at the app together.
She was silent as she looked through the listings. "Anything jumping out to you?" Adam asked. "A couple yes. Some not so much." She shrugged a bit. "Do I really need to pull teeth here?" He joked. "Nope just trying to see all the options before I go crazy showing you things. But one thing that is a total no for me is living with a school across the street. That's too much noise for me." She looked up to see him nodding in agreement. "I would rather not have a busy street either. I want to be safe for the kids to ride bikes on the sidewalks or streets. Like a normal neighborhood." She knew it sounded crazy. "I agree. I want them to be safe when we are outside playing. That's important. Anything else you see that's not to your liking?" He asked knowing she had high standards. "Nothing crazy. Just want the perfect home for all of us." She smile as she showed him the homes she liked. "It will be perfect because it's ours. And our crazy little family living in it." Adam scrolled through the homes clicking on different ones he liked.
They went back in forth for about an hour talking about different homes on the list. They had decided to view a few over the weekend. Even if none felt right they would keep looking. They were in no rush to move. Adam still had to finish his lease and Kim had to give notice at her place with 2 months notice so they had time to figure it all out. "How about we head up stairs now? I think we have a few things we need to celebrate tonight. You being free from your life in Queens and Me moving in with my family. Because you three are my family, formally or not. Come on." He held out her hand to pull her up leading her to their bedroom. She giggled as he scooped her up throwing her over his shoulder. And just for good measure he patted her butt along the way. He chuckled at her squirming in his arms. As they got in the bedroom the door was locked behind them. He tossed her on the bed watching her bounce still giggling.
Kim sat up to remove his shirt quickly wanting the barriers removed and quickly. He reached for Kim's shirt removing it throwing it across the room. Kim fingers removed his belt dropping his pants allowing him to kick them off. He pushed her back to remove her pants. "Darling! You ready?" He asked watching her get comfortable on the bed. "Oh absolutely!" She winked teasingly. He smiled leaning in to kiss her passionately. Not wanting to rush it but wanted to make sure she felt the fire between them. Feel the love he felt for her. "I want to cut my hair to my shoulders. And thinned out. It's so heavy and I want to take the weight off." She looked up to see a stunned face that turned angry then sad. "I literally have no words for what you just said." He watched her turn scared. "You never have to ask me to cut your hair! That's ridiculous! I love your hair and I love running my fingers through it to super short I wouldn't love but it's your hair. Cut it if you want. Please don't think I will be upset about it because I won't." He watched her nod burying her face in his neck. "Whatever shit he told you forget it! Nothing wrong with you cutting your hair or thinning it out. Not that I know what that means but if it makes you happy then do that." He rubbed her back feeling a few tears on his chest. He moved back some to wipe her tears away. "Thank you! I'm still trying to unlearn all damage he did. Thank you for being patience with me." Kim kissed him softly again. "You never have to thank me for that. You deserve all the good in life and you will get it from now on. That's a promise!" Adam kissed her softly again enjoying the closeness.
"Thank you. Really." Kim pulled her leg over his hip showing her intentions. Adam wrapped his arms around her holding her close as he entered her once more. They both moaned as he kissed her lips, slowly, lovingly. Every thrust was slow yet powerful. Pouring all his love into each thrust. Making sure she knew just how much he loved her.
