Chapter 17 Street Performance Planning
Airi's POV

The following Monday after school, Youthful/Friends met up to look through the information Tsukasa gave us.

"Wow Saki", Ena started. "Your brother gave us some very thorough information."

"He did", Ichika added. "Not only did he give us a list of popular street performing spots, he even listened what times of days they're most likely to get the highest foot traffic."

"But is all this info really necessary", Ena asked.

"You'd be surprised at how even the tiniest details can help when it comes to getting noticed", I revealed.

"You do have a point there", Ena said. "But, we're not trying to become popular or anything like that at the moment. We're just trying to get some experience performing live."

"Good point, Ena", I said. "Since that's the case, why don't we choose a spot with low foot traffic for our first live performance?"

"Good idea, Airi-Senpai", Saki replied.

"Let's see", I started, before looking at a map Tsukasa had marked for us. "How about…this spot in Miyamasuzaka? According to Tenma-Kun, it has the least foot traffic out of all of the spots he marked for us."

"I'm okay with that", Ena replied.

"Me too", Ichika added.

"Me three", Saki added.

"Perfect", I said. "Then we've agreed on a spot! Now we just need to decide on a day to hold our performance."

"What day do you think would be the best, Airi-Senpai", Ichika asked.

"I was thinking about doing it over the weekend", I revealed. "We really don't have any time to put it on during the week."

"Good point", Ichika said.

"How about we put on our performance this Saturday", Saki suggested.

"Isn't that a bit too soon", Ena asked.

"It should be fine if we keep it to just one song", I replied. "Which I think we should do for now since we've never performed live before."

"Good idea", Ichika said. "So, are we all in agreement?"

"I am", Saki replied excitedly.

"Me too", Ena added.

"Great", Saki said happily. "Now we've got a place and time for our performance!"

After hearing this, Ichika seemed to suddenly remember something else.

"Airi-Senpai", she started. "I just thought of something else. How are we going to get our instruments to the performance spot?"

"Oh, right", I said. "I didn't think of that."

"Airi and Ichika should be fine", Ena pointed out. "But it's not like Saki and I can just carry around a drum kit or a keyboard."

"You're right", Saki said. "Then what are we gonna do?!"

"Let me look it up", I said, before taking out my phone. "Ah, here we go. They make compact drum kits for traveling."

"They do", Ena asked, before looking at my phone. "Great! Then I'll just get that for me!"

"Now we just need something for Saki", Ichika said.

"Let me think", Saki started, before thinking of something. "I know, I can get a key-tar!"

"A key-tar", Ena repeated. "What's that?"

"It's a keyboard that you carry like a guitar", Saki revealed.

"Oh, I've seen that before at shows", I revealed.

"I bet I'd look so cool using one of those", Saki added. "So I think I'll go with that!"

"Great", I said. "Then how about we go to a music store and check out some instruments?"

...

We were now at the music store, and we were not happy with what we saw.

"I forgot how expensive musical instruments were", Saki said. "I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to afford this key-tar!"

"Same", I added. "I doubt that I'll be able to afford that drum kit either."

After hearing this, I let out a defeated sigh.

"Sorry guys", I apologised. "But I think our first live performance is going to have to be put on hold until we can afford these instruments."
