A/N: Hey, guys! In the previous chapter, Mario had a horrible nightmare about King Boo, and asked Luigi to sleep in his bed. Now let's start this chapter. In my area, in Europe, Siblings Day is on May 31st, while in America (where it is not yet fully recognized), it's on April 10th. As such, this one-shot will be dedicated to Siblings Day. I also did something on my Youtube channel about it, and the chapter will take inspiration from my video, a fandub of a comic to which I added something of my own. Before we begin, I'll remind you one thing about reviews. Please let me know what you think of the chapters when you do the reviews and make me a request, without your thoughts on the chapters I wrote, it doesn't seem that good. But I see that this series is having success, so I'm not complaining much. End of the premises, we can begin!

Chapter 5: Happy Siblings Day!

It was a beautiful sunny Wednesday in the Mushroom Kingdom. Hearing the 7 AM alarm clock, Luigi woke up early. As soon as he got out of bed, his gaze rested on the calendar in the room. It was May 31st!

''It's Siblings Day! I have to prepare a gift for Mario!'' exclaimed Luigi. He went to shower in a hurry and immediately went down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Siblings Day wasn't as official as Father's Day, Mother's Day, or even Grandparents' Day, but it had spread pretty fast overtime, and Mario and Luigi tried to celebrate it together as best they could.

Mario woke up half an hour later. ''Did I oversleep...?'' he murmured. He hadn't heard the alarm go off. He also looked at the calendar, and he reacted with surprise when he saw what day it was. ''Oh, no! It's Siblings Day, and I haven't got a gift for Luigi yet!'' he exclaimed. He and Luigi loved Siblings Day, and forgetting about it was for them one of the worst things ever. He took a shower, combed his mustache and got dressed, and that's when he smelled the delicious smell coming from the kitchen. Was breakfast ready? He went down the stairs, and when Luigi saw him, he took him by surprise by hugging him so tightly that he lifted him off the ground.

''Happy Siblings Day, Mario!'' said Luigi aloud, as he hugged his brother.

''Oh, thank you, Luigi! Happy Siblings Day to you too!'' said Mario, and threw his arms around Luigi's neck, returning his embrace. ''I didn't sleep too much, did I?''

''No, you came just in time! I made you breakfast: jam pancakes and warm tea!'' replied Luigi, putting Mario back on the ground.

''Grazie!'' said Mario happily, and the two brothers immediately began to have breakfast. While eating, he remembered that he didn't get a gift for Luigi.

''So, what are we going to do together?'' asked Luigi.

''I can't now. I have to go to Mushroom City. I'll cross Mushroom Bridge.'' said Mario.(1)

''Oh...'' said Luigi, disappointed. Apart from that he was not very convinced, as if his brother was lying to him. ''But are you sure you have to? I went shopping on Friday, and oad Town is much closer anyway.''

''I have to go get some things. I'll be back in the afternoon.'' said Mario, trying not to make him suspicious.

''Then you won't be able to come back for lunch? What will you eat?'' Luigi asked.

''I made myself a tuna sandwich. Don't worry, it will be enough.'' replied Mario.

''I understand. Maybe we'll get some gifts when you're home.'' said Luigi.

Mario laughed a little. ''Yeah, maybe.'' he said. ''Do you have to do something?'' he then asked.

''Now that I think about it, yes. Let's say Peach called me to fix her dress.'' replied Luigi.

Mario was surprised. ''Since when are you good at sewing?'' he asked.

''We're very versatile, you know. However, I learned to sew when you were away, and Princess Peach taught me a little more. Anyway, she asked me to sew up her dress. When Bowser kidnapped her on Saturday, a sleeve of her dress got torn.'' Luigi said.

Hearing that Bowser had ripped off the princess's dress left Mario shocked. How had he not noticed this before, when he had saved Peach? This discovery infuriated him. ''Grrrr! Now I'm mad! If Bowser kidnaps her again, I'll make him pay!'' he blurted out, hitting the door with a punch. His outburst was so sudden that he accidentally frightened Luigi.

''M-Mario! Don't do anything crazy, please!'' cried Luigi, trembling.

Mario turned around, and when he saw Luigi, his anger faded and was replaced by regret for scaring him. He walked over to him and put his hand on his shoulder. ''Oh, sorry, Luigi. I didn't do it on purpose.'' he told him.

''It's OK, Mario.'' said Luigi.

''It's really kind of you to fix Peach's dress.'' said Mario, giving his brother a gentle smile.

''You don't think you're the only one that cares about her, will you?'' asked Luigi. ''I'm not you, but she's still a friend of mine.''

''She will be very happy about that. I'm going to get my kart now, I have to go.''

''Okay! Don't be back late!''

Mario and Luigi hugged each other, ready to do what they had to do. They would be on their own, but this gave them time to do what they wanted to do.

''See you this afternoon, Luigi.'' said Mario.

''See you later, Mario!'' said Luigi.

Before leaving, Mario said goodbye to his brother with a kiss on the cheek, then turned on his kart and set off towards Mushroom City.

While driving, Mario had no idea what to give Luigi. He wanted to take something nice from him. As he thought about it, he saw some of his friends and greeted them.

''Hi, Yoshi!''

(''Hello, Mario!'')

''Hello, Toadette!''

''Hi!''

''Hi, Lakitu!''

''Hey there, Mario!''

An hour and a half later, he reached the highway, but when he arrived halfway between the highway and Mushroom Bridge ten minutes later, he was faced with something really frustrating: a traffic jam.

''This is going to be a long day...'' commented Mario. Being in traffic was definitely stressful, and he began to wonder if those people were also going to Mushroom Town to get a gift for their siblings or had to go to work. Before long, honking noises began to fill the area, irritating even some passing Toads who were waiting on the crosswalk to hitchhike at a short distance from the bridge.

30 minutes later...

It took half an hour for Mario to get to the bridge, but there were so many cars that he ended up moving at 6 miles per hour and stopping every second. He hadn't even made it to town and was already losing his patience. Now he too was beginning to lose his cool, and had been honking repeatedly for five minutes. ''Are you moving out or not?! I've been waiting for 30 minutes! I have to buy a gift for my brother!'' he yelled angrily. He didn't take his cell phone out of his pocket to listen to some music because he didn't want to get into trouble and make things harder for him. ''Speaking of Luigi, I wonder if he's doing better.''

Meanwhile, at home, Luigi looked at Peach's dress, which he had put in the closet. Its left sleeve was really torn, and its seemed about to fall from the rest. ''It's more serious than I thought... It's falling apart. Never mind! Luigi will take care of it!'' he said, determined. He took the dress, went to the living room, where his sewing machine was, and turned it on. ''It's just a tear though, I shouldn't have to take so long.''

He set to work, passing the torn part of the dress under the needle of the sewing machine and pulling towards himself, being careful not to damage the fabric further. In five minutes it was all over, but now he had to do something else: leaving the dress like this would make visible the fact that it had been sewn up, and he knew that these clothes were easily ruined with water, so he decided to iron it. Before doing so, however, he needed help with something. He also wanted to make a gift for Mario, and he had an idea, so he took his cell phone.

Toad was tending the castle gardens when he heard a ringtone. His cell phone was ringing. He pressed the green button and answered the call. ''Hello?'' he asked.

''Hello, Toad. It's-a me, Luigi.'' said Luigi.

''Good morning, Luigi! I didn't expect to get a call from you. What's going on?'' asked Toad, surprised.

''I was taking care of Peach's dress, and I need help with something.'' Luigi replied.

''Ah, I know, the torn sleeve. Thank you, the princess will appreciate it very much. Blue Toad, Yellow Toad and I were watering the flower beds in the garden, but I think I can come to you.'' said Toad.

''Okay. Thanks, Toad. I just finished mending the tear. I would like to make a surprise for Mario, and he will be back this afternoon.'' said Luigi. ''Now I'll start ironing the dress, and then it will have to cool down. Meet me at around ten o'clock, then hand her the dress for me.''

''Thank you, Luigi. The princess will be really happy. See you later.''

After the call, Luigi put the dress on the ironing board and began to iron, being careful not to leave the iron stationary in the same place for too long to avoid burning everything. A quarter of an hour later, it was all over.

''There! Good as new!''

Satisfied with his work, Luigi put the dress in a small box and waited. He saw Parakarry bring something to his door a couple of times, and seeing that they were gifts, he decided that he would open them later, when Mario returned home. Later, he heard someone knocking on the door. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall. It was almost 10 AM. He opened the door, and Toad was there. ''Okay, Toad, I finished fixing the princess's dress. Now you can bring it to her.'' he said, handing him the box.

''Thank you, Luigi. Princess Peach will be very happy about it. See you later!'' said Toad, and he headed for the castle.

The first commission had been completed. Now Luigi had to find a gift for Mario, but he didn't know what to do. ''What could I give him? He already has everything.'' Thought. He had spare wool, but soon summer would come, and you could not wear it except in winter, but the more he thought about it, the more he could not find other possible gifts to give, and he had an idea. ''I got it! A new sweater!'' he exclaimed. He took the wool and some cloth and set to work, preparing the fabrics, knitting and dyeing the wool red.

After being stuck in traffic for several endless minutes, Mario finally managed to get to Mushroom City. ''Finally! I couldn't take it anymore!'' he snorted, stressed. He checked his cell phone and saw that it was half past ten. Although Mushroom City was a very large city, it wasn't the capital, it was Toad Town. After parking the kart, he began to drive around the immense city in search of a gift to give to Luigi.

He found a shopping mall, but since he wanted a nice gift for him, he had trouble finding anything satisfying. He first visited the sports section on the second floor, but he didn't take any sports clothes because both brothers already had new ones, as well as items such as golf clubs and baseball bats, and he didn't find anything else that was interesting.

He went to the cinema section on the fourth floor, where CDs of various films were sold, but he was disappointed with the films for sale.

Knowing that Luigi hated dust and dirt, he thought of going to the fifth floor and getting him a new vacuum cleaner, but he had to reluctantly give up because there was no room to carry one in the kart and he did not have enough coins with him to buy one (those for sale cost between 600 and 800 coins).

It had been more than two hours that Mario was looking for something and without results, and it was almost one o'clock. The more time passed as he kept searcing, the more stressed he became. After a few more failed attempts, he was so frustrated that he wanted to break something, so he ran to an empty male bathroom to vent away from prying eyes, and after screaming, he sat down on the toilet. ''OK. Stay calm, Mario. Keep calm and don't mess up or Luigi will scold you.'' he thought, while peeing. With no other options, he picked up his cell phone and made a call.

Meanwhile, in New Donk City, Mayor Pauline was in her office keeping an eye on paperwork when the phone rang.(2) She went to see the number and the ringtone, and recognizing the sound, she answered. ''Hello?'' she said.

''Hi, Pauline!'' said Mario, relieved that she had answered.

''Mario! I didn't expect to get a phone call from you!'' exclaimed Pauline.

''How are things going with you?'' asked Mario.

''All normal. I'm working on a few things at the moment.'' said Pauline. ''Is everything right? You look agitated.'' she then asked.

''To tell you the truth, I need help. I wanted to ask you a favor as a friend. You see, it's Siblings Day today, and I was looking for a gift for Luigi.''

Pauline was surprised by the call for help. ''And you're not having luck, aren't you?'' she asked.

''No.'' replied Mario, frustrated. ''I'm at the shopping center in Mushroom City, and I've been looking for a gift for Luigi for more than two hours, but nothing satisfies me. I also had to give up getting him a new vacuum cleaner because I don't have enough coins and there is not enough space in the kart to transport him.''

''You care a lot about your brother.'' said Pauline.

''Of course I care about him. We are twins, and I am the eldest. I had completely forgotten that Siblings Day was today and I had not taken a gift for him in advance. I searched everywhere, but I didn't find anything good.'' said Mario.

''I think you're demanding too much of what you're looking for.'' Pauline said.

''Pauline, I'm so demanding about the gift because Luigi is a special person. He has always been by my side since we were born, and so I wanted to return the favor with an equally special gift. I don't want to disappoint him.'' Mario explained. His tone was full of sadness.

''I suggest you get him something simple. I don't know your brother like you do, but he will appreciate the gesture even if you give him an insignificant gift because it is the thought that counts.'' Pauline suggested.

Mario's eyes widened like dinner plates. He hadn't even thought about it! He was so caught up in wantinga special gift for Luigi that his brain was overloaded and it completely escaped his mind!

''You just came up with an idea for me! Thanks, Pauline!'' said Mario, feeling the stress fly away like a Lakitu's cloud.

''Alright, Mario. I have to go now, I have a lot of paperwork to fix. Hope to hear from you soon.''

''Okay, bye-bye!''

Satisfied, Mario hung up. He took the elevator and went to the first floor, where clothes were being sold. A green shirt caught his eye, and he asked the tailors to make some changes by sewing something on it.

In the meantime, it was half past one. ''Hmmm, I'm getting hungry.'' thought Mario, taking his sandwich and starting to eat, remembering to throw the aluminum foil away. Half an hour later, the changes were completed, and Mario was given back the shirt, which he put in a package. The price was normally thirty coins, but the modifications had added a cost of forty coins, so he paid seventy coins. ''Thank you. That will be enough for me.'' he said.

Having taken what he was looking for, Mario walked out of the mall. It was 2 PM, and he had to go home. He turned on his kart and began the road home, wondering how Luigi was doing.

While Mario was at the mall, Luigi was still at home, working hard, sewing and knitting for three hours without stopping. When he had finally finished the gift for his brother and wrapped it up, he was exhausted.

''Finally... I finished my gift for Mario. I hope he likes it.'' said Luigi. It was past two, and at that moment he realized that he was very hungry, as he had not taken a single break during the three hours, not even a lunch break, and he prepared a sandwich with ham and cheese. After he finished eating, he yawned loudly. ''I'm exhausted... I feel my arms numb... I think I'll take a nap...'' he murmured, and he fell asleep on the couch. After working hard all morning, he desperately needed some rest.

Meanwhile, Mario was on his way home. He was stuck again in traffic halfway through, but the highway was not as crowded as during the morning, and by half past three, he was back in Toad Town. He decided to pay Princess Peach a visit to check on how things were going, and knocked on the door of the princess's room.

''Come in.'' said Peach. The door opened, and Peach was happy to see Mario. ''Oh, hello, Mario!''

''Good afternoon, Princess!'' Mario greeted her, tipping his hat to her. ''How are you today?'' he then asked.

''Everything's okay. Toad arrived at my room this morning. He said he had been asked to give me the dress.'' replied Peach.

Upon hearing this, Mario began to feel a hint of anger towards Bowser. Luigi had told him that Bowser had ripped off part of Peach's dress, but was that true? ''Peach, I need you to tell me something.'' he said.

''What is it?'' asked Peach.

''Your dress. Luigi said that when Bowser kidnapped you last Saturday, he ripped your sleeve. Is it all true?''

The beautiful princess was silent for a while. She knew Mario wasn't mad at her, but it was a matter she didn't like. She didn't know what to say, but Mario waited patiently for the answer.

''Yes, Mario. It's all true. You hadn't noticed, but Luigi had noticed it when we were returning to the castle. Bowser didn't do anything else to me, thankfully, but I hate him being so possessive of me.'' admitted Peach.

Mario didn't like what he had heard at all. If he weren't in Peach's castle, he would have had the urge to scream at the top of his lungs. ''Oh, he's such a pain! He never takes ''No!'' for answer!'' he commented, irritated. ''And he almost hurt you.'' As he said the second sentence, however, his tone became calmer, and he gently put his hands on Peach's delicate hand.

Peach laughed a little. She liked Mario because he wasn't like Bowser, or some other snobbish noble that was only interested in her because of her status. Although he was a commoner, a simple plumber, he was nobler than many suitors in her eyes. He was always kind to her and never hesitated to come to her aid when she was in danger. ''And you, Mario? What did you do today?'' she asked.

''I went to Mushroom City to buy a gift for Luigi. Today is Siblings Day, and since he is a fantastic brother, I wanted to give him a special gift.'' replied Mario.

''Oh, Mario. You're really sweet.'' said Peach. She leaned down and kissed Mario on the nose.

The plumber turned all red, and it took a while to compose himself, as he laughed with embarrassment. ''Thank you, Peach. However, it was not easy at all. I got stuck in traffic, and when I got to the mall, I couldn't find a gift that satisfied me.'' he said.

''Well, mornings and evenings are rush hours, as people go to work or home at that time.'' said Peach. ''What happened?'' she asked.

''I spent two hours searching, but I wasn't successful. I was so frustrated that I locked myself in the bathroom to scream and phoned a friend to ask for help.'' replied Mario. ''Do you remember Pauline?''

Peach was rather surprised. ''Oh, I remember now.'' she said.

''Good. I talked to Pauline about it, and she said I expected too much of my gift for Luigi. She suggested me to get him something simple.'' said the plumber.

''She had a point. You can't expect so much from a gift.'' said Peach.

''Peach, this is different. I have many friends here, but my brother is irreplaceable. He is a special person, I got so worked up for my gift because I wanted it to be worthy of him. The last thing I want to do is disappoint him on Siblings Day by not bringing him anything or giving him a bad gift, and if that's the case, he would never forgive me for that.'' sighed Mario. "The worst thing is that I had completely forgotten that Siblings Day was, and I only remembered it this morning. I hadn't even prepared in advance to get him a gift.''

The princess was not surprised. The two brothers were united by an unbreakable bond, and Luigi was her close friend and protector along with Mario, so she could understand why it was such an important issue for him. ''Hey, Mario? About Luigi, there is one thing I have to tell you.'' she said.

''Tell me.'' said Mario.

''This morning, Toad went to my room and handed me my old dress. I was really surprised when I saw that the tear on the sleeve had been fixed and that the dress had just been ironed. Toad told me that Luigi had asked him to do him a favor.'' said Peach.

Mario smiled. ''So he wasn't lying then when he said he was going to stitch your dress back.'' he said.

''And I'm very happy to know that he kept his promise. I wanted to go to your house to thank him, but Toad told me he was busy and you weren't there.'' said Peach, smiling.

''I can say with certainty that my brother is an exceptional person.'' commented Mario proudly.

Peach nodded. ''Even though Luigi is not you, I see a lot of you in him. You know, I admit it, he's like a brother to me.''

Mario was very surprised. ''Do you really think so?'' he asked.

''Of course. Luigi has always been so kind to me. Sometimes I feel like we're like brother and sister, and now that it's Siblings Day, I openly admit that he's like the brother I never had.'' said Peach.

''Luigi will love to hear it.'' said Mario.

''If you see Luigi, give him a hug and a kiss from me.''

''Of course, I will. My gift is now in my kart. I'm going home now, Luigi is waiting for me.''

''Bye, Mario!''

Peach gave Mario a kiss on the nose, causing him to blush furiously again as he said goodbye to her. Leaving the castle, the man in red got into his kart and drove back home.

Meanwhile, after an hour of rest, Luigi woke up yawning loudly, and the first thing he saw was that there were some more gift packages than before. Was it Parakarry who gave them to him? He didn't think much of it, as a voice interrupted his thoughts.

''Luigi! I'm home!'' Mario called him, opening the door and holding something behind his back.

''Hey, Mario! Welcome home!'' said Luigi.

''I heard you got busy.'' said Mario.

''Yes, I rested a bit because I worked all morning. In the meantime, these gifts have arrived. Come upstairs, we'll open them there.'' Luigi replied.

The brothers went upstairs and began opening the presents. Yoshi had given them a stuffed Yoshi egg.

''That's cute.'' commented Mario.

The second gift was from Donkey Kong and Diddy, who had given them a red and a green tie.

''Matching ties. Interesting.'' said Luigi.

The third gift, from Toad, was a set of eight colorful toy mushrooms.

Mario took a red mushroom and applied light pressure to it. It made a sound similar to that of a duck, and the other mushrooms made similar sounds, but in different tones. ''Hey, these are cute!'' he exclaimed, laughing.

''These could be great for children.'' said Luigi. At this point, he noticed that Mario still had one hand behind his back. ''Mario? What are you holding in your hands?'' he asked.

Mario suddenly took a blindfold and covered his brother's eyes, taking him by surprise. ''Uh-uh-uh, Luigi. Don't peek.'' he said in disapproval.

''Mario, what are you doing?!'' Luigi exclaimed.

''Do as I tell you. Unbutton your overalls and take your shirt off. Don't take off your blindfold until I tell you.'' said Mario in a serious tone.

With no other choice, Luigi obeyed his brother's order, unbuttoning his overalls, lifting the straps from his shoulders and taking off his shirt. Meanwhile, Mario was putting something on him.(3)

''Can I look?'' asked Luigi.

''One sec, like this, aaaaaaand...'' said Mario, as he finished the finishing touches. ''Here you go. Okie-dokie, you can look now!''

Luigi took off his blindfold, and when he looked in the mirror, he gasped in shock from what he saw. He was wearing a new green jumper, and in the middle was an illustration showing him and Mario together. Above and below was an inscription, which he read. ''"LUIGI: #1 BRO"? Awwww, thank you, Mario...'' he murmured.

''So, do you like it?'' asked Mario.

''I love it!'' replied Luigi, and soon after, he began to cry.

''Awwww, don't cry, little bro... You're gonna get tears all over it...'' Mario whispered to him, hugging him.

But Luigi wasn't crying because he was sad, as he was laughing. ''I'm crying because I'm happy.'' he explained.

''I'm glad you like my gift, Luigi. I spent all morning looking for a gift for you, and I wasn't sure if you'd like it. You are special to me, and I wanted my gift to be special.'' said Mario.

''No, you didn't have to. Thank you, Mario. You're the best big brother in the world.'' said Luigi, and he gave Mario a peck on the nose.

Mario felt his heart warm at the gesture of affection, and he gave his brother a hug. ''Awwww, thank you, Luigi. You're the best little brother ever.''

The younger brother blushed a little to hear this statement. He took his gift package. ''Mario? Close your eyes and take off your shirt. I'll let you know when you can open them.'' he said.

Mario closed his eyes, unbuttoned his overalls and took off his shirt. He felt Luigi put something on him and did not feel very comfortable, as if he were hot. ''Luigi, I feel hot.'' he told him.

''It's just a moment, Mario. I'll take it off shortly.'' Luigi reassured him.

''Can I look now?'' asked Mario.

''Okie-dokie. You can open your eyes now.'' Luigi replied.

Mario slowly opened his eyes and was amazed by what he saw. He was wearing a nice red sweater, which read, ''YOU'RE #1, MARIO!''. ''Wow! It's beautiful! Did you buy this?'' he asked.

''No. I sewed it all myself, and I worked all morning to do it.'' replied Luigi, and this left his brother amazed. ''I know, it's too hot and it's only for the winter, but-''

''Luigi? Come here.'' Mario interrupted him, and when Luigi went closer to him, he kissed him on the nose and then on the cheek. ''Thank you. You did a great job, the sweater is wonderful.''

''I'm glad you like it.'' said Luigi, as his brother put his shirt back on and buttoned his overalls.

''I never expected you to spend all morning on this.''

''Did you think I wouldn't do it?''

''That's not what I meant, little bro.''

Luigi chuckled. ''Oh, Mario...'' he murmured, smiling under his mustache.

''Oh, I almost forgot about that. I have another gift for you.'' said Mario.

''What?'' asked Luigi.

''This.'' Mario replied. He gently cupped Luigi's face in his hands and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

Luigi was surprised. He didn't mind the gesture of affection, but he didn't expect it. ''OK?'' he commented.

''Peach was very happy when you stitched up the tear on her dress as you promised. The kiss is from her, she asked me to thank you on her behalf.'' explained Mario.

''Oh! That nice was of her.'' said Luigi.

''You know what?'' said Mario, wrapping an arm around his back. ''Peach feels that you are like brother and sister. She told me that.''

''Really?'' asked Luigi, surprised.

''Yes. You're his friend, and she sees you as a brother.'' replied Mario.

''I'm glad to hear that. Peach has always been so kind to me. She's like a sister to me.'' said Luigi. ''Hey, Mario. Besides if you two get married, that would make me her brother-in-law.''

Hearing this comment, Mario laughed. He gave Luigi a tight hug, and the two brothers knelt down. ''And you'd be a great brother-in-law, I'm sure of it. Happy Siblings Day, Luigi.'' he said.

''Happy Siblings Day to you too. I love you with all my soul, Mario.'' said Luigi.

''I love you too, Lu. With all my heart. My best gift for Siblings Day? It's you, my beloved little brother.'' declared Mario. He too had tears in his eyes.

''And you are my best gift for Siblings Day, my beloved big brother.'' said Luigi, touched. His voice was slowly breaking, and tears were popping up in his eyes again.

''Luigi? Are you crying again?'' asked Mario.

''I told you, they are tears of joy. I am moved.'' said Luigi. ''Hey, Mario?''

''Yes?'' asked Mario.

''How about playing with these mushrooms a bit?'' asked Luigi.

''Oh, yeah!'' replied Mario.

The brothers took two small percussion mallets and hit two mushrooms. They found that the gummy-like sounds sounded like a xylophone when they hit them.

''Wow! Cool!'' exclaimed Luigi.

''Yeah, this is really fun, but there's no better gift for Siblings Day like you.'' said Mario.

''I love Siblings Day, Mario. I wouldn't want another brother but you.'' said Luigi, giving Mario a hug.

''Thank you, Luigi. Feeling's mutual.'' Mario told him, returning the hug and giving his brother a gentle kiss on the cheek.

''Stay by my side, always.''

''Of course... Lu.''

Mario and Luigi enjoyed the afternoon together. Siblings Day was something to which they placed a lot of importance, much more than almost any other day, and they were very, very special occasions. Those were days that consolidated their strong bond. Their brotherhood would last forever.

(2): In Super Mario Odyssey, Pauline first appears in a main game in the franchise, in New Donk City, the setting of the Metro Kingdom. She first appeared in Donkey Kong, then returned to the Mario vs. then returned to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series with a new design, and she also recently became playable in spin-offs such as Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Kart Tour and Mario Golf Super Rush.
