Author's Note: So I have never actually been to a Comic Con, not even my local one. I have, however, helped out with a few different other cons because my best friend has a few businesses that goes to them. They're incredibly busy and overwhelming even if I was usually assigned to the quietest place that my friend could find for me.

James and Sirius stood at the entrance of the convention center. Their eyes were wide with anticipation. For years, they had been dreaming of this day, and now here they were, about to walk through the gates and into the world of Comic Con. Remus was nearly as excited as they were while Peter was his normal self, just happy to be included in the expensive outing.
Remus was dressed like the Fourth Doctor, including an extremely long scarf that he had knitted himself. James knew that every pocket in his coat had a bag of either jelly babies or specially made jammy dodgers. Because of Sirius' allergy to red fruits and vegetables, Remus had made the jammy dodgers with blackberry jam. Because it was Remus, he had also covered them with chocolate.
James and Sirius had decided to do a couple costume. James looked roguishly handsome dressed in Han Solo's outfit from A New Hope. He even had a toy blaster in a holster on his hip that he could draw with great speed. Sirius, however, had gone with Princess Leia's iconic outfit from Return of the Jedi. He looked gorgeous with so much of his pale skin on display between the red fabric and gold metal. James had barely been able to resist dragging him back to the bed in their hotel room, especially when he had spotted the thigh-high boots Sirius had chosen to go along with it.
Peter had chosen to not cosplay as anything, preferring to save all of his funds for merch. But he had fun with choosing a shockingly lemon yellow tee shirt with black lettering telling people to ask him about his duck costume. The inside of the shirt had a duck's face that was revealed any time Peter put the hem over his head.
The four of them smiled at each other and, with the couple holding hands and flanked by their other friends, walked in under the big banner. They stepped into a realm of the imagination that they had never seen before. Everywhere they looked were costumes and characters, art and gadgets, and people dressed up to represent their favorite stories and ideas. Everywhere they looked, they saw something new and exciting.
James and Sirius followed the signs and worked their way through the convention center. They stopped to take pictures, savoring every moment of their first Comic Con experience. They marveled at the intricate details on some of the props and costumes and bought souvenirs that they would be able to remember the experience by. Sirius had gravitated towards the replica daggers and swords that matched Remus' need for crafting patterns of various types and subjects. James had found a model of the famous American picture palace, the Chinese Theatre.
As they wandered through the center, they came across what seemed like an endless hall of comic book and science fiction books. The two of them went from section to section, discussing the various stories. They got lost in the stories of exploration, heroism, and friendship. Most of Peter's budget went to making his own bag bulge with his literary purchases.
By the time the four of them made it to the far end of the convention center, they were both exhausted and exhilarated. They had seen and done more in a single day than they ever thought possible. They had dreamed of going to Comic Con, and now, here they were, standing at the edge of a world full of wonder and exploration.
